Chapter 17: Fleeing from the Death Star and a Tie Fighter squad.
As Han managed to quickly fly the falcon out of the Death Star, in the ship's hold are Luke along with the entire were all sitting done in silence and are all saddened after they all witnessed Vader killing Ben. The adults did their best to comfort the kids as they were all in tears as Scrooge was hugging Webby, Della was hugging her sons, and Donald along with Daisy were hugging May and June. Liea decided to comfort Luke with a blanket from nearby and placed it around his body and Luke could look at the princess who sits down beside him.
However as they flew in the pilots station, Han noticed that enemy ships were starting to approach them realizing that the Empire was not done with them just yet.
Han: We're coming up on the sentry ships. Hold'em off! Angle the deflector shields while I charge up the main guns!
He told Chewie who quickly did just that while Han quickly made his way to the ship's hold.
Luke: I can't believe he's gone.
Luke told Leia in a low down voice while R2 tried to comfort him as well.
Leia: There wasn't anything you could have done.
Donald: Well there wasn't anything we could have done either. Even if we did try to do something we all probably would have been killed.
Daisy I'm really angry that our kids had to witness such a horrifying scene.
Della: I'm angry as well. I know we have seen other traumatizing scenes back at our home planet but still.
Dewey: I really wish that Webby and I had a chance to meet him because he seemed like he was a really good man.
Webby: I wish we could have tried to do something.
Scrooge: I know darling but like what Uncle Donald said it would have not made much of a difference and we all would have been killed he risked his life to save us all.
Just then Han quickly entered the Ships holding room.
Han: Come on, buddy, we're not out of this yet.
Han told Luke as he quickly got up.
Della: Wait what about the rest of us?
Della asked Han.
Han: The rest of you sit down tightly because it's gonna be a wild ride.
He said as Han and Luke left the room while everyone looked at each other in concern.
It didn't take long for Han to get into his attack position in the ships topside gunport and got ready to fire at the oncoming Tie fighters.
While Luke on the other hand managed to quickly climb down the ship's gunport cockpit and started to get ready to fire from his position as well.
Han: You in, kid?
He asked Luke while speaking through his attached microphone.
Luke: I'm ready and in position!
Luke responded back.
Han: Okay, stay sharp! While everyone else holds on tight!
Chweie and Leia are searching the heavens for the Tie fighters current locations. As they notice their location Chewie quickly pulls back on the ship's speed controls which cause the ship to bounce which causes the Duck family along with the droids to jump from their seats a bit.
Back to Hans position he noticed that a ship was coming on his screen and got his controls ready to fire.
While Luke starts to do the same thing for his controls when he also notices a ship was in his position.
Chewie then noticed the tie fighters are starting to further close in on their ship and managed to get Leia's attention by Howling to her.
Leia: Here they come!
She quickly said on her intercom.
Just then the Tie fighters started to fire at the ship and as they fired they managed to hit the hold area which caused the lights to go out and quickly turned back on.
Louie: Are we gonna do something or are we just gonna let these guys keep firing on us?
He asked.
Huey: Yeah, I think I'm starting to get a little concerned again.
Scrooge: Lets not freak out just yet lads, I'm pretty sure that Luke and the others have a plan in place.
Della: Well hopefully they do because I don't know how many hits this ship can take.
In Hans' position a Tie fighter maneuvers in front of his aim area and begins to fire when he gets a clear shot. Lukle does the same thing as well. However, the Falcon takes yet another hit because the ship bounces a little more violently as well, causing another limited blackout in the holding room.
Two Tie fighters then quickly dove down underneath the ship Luke tries to fire at one closer to him but they are moving way too quickly.
Luke: They're coming in too fast!
He pointed out.
Two Tie fighters fired one again at the ship which was much closer to the cockpit area which caused some sparks to show inside where Chewie and Leia are in.
The two Tie fighters then fired once again towards the holding room causing the room to even shake much more violently and everyone to be thrown off of their seated areas. Everyone then landed into separate areas of the room and 3PO managed to land into a nearby cabinet that is filled with computer chips.
Leia then continues to watch the computer's readout and Chewie is trying to maintain control of the ship but she notices the current damage the Tie fighters are causing on the Falcon.
Leia: We've lost lateral controls!
She said, trying to inform Han and Luke.
Han: Don't worry, she'll hold it together.
Han responded back before focusing back on the oncoming Tie fighters before he continued.
Han: You hear me, baby? Hold together!
He said hoping that the Falcon won't fall apart.
Luke then swiveled in his gun mount as he started to once again aim at the Tie fighter in his range and started firing at it again.
Solo not long after did the same thing when he noticed a tie fighter was in his range but the Tie fighters continued to fly around the ship quickly. One Tie fighter again flies towards the ship and Leia watches it fly overhead.
In the Hold room the droids along with the Duck family and crew could sit still and show a lot of concern as they all continued to listen to the flying and firing noise that was going on outside the ship.
Luke then notices the Tie fighter coming in his direction and once again begins to fire at it but the Tie fighter flies past the Falcon as Luke tries to get a shot at it.
Han follows another Tie fighter that came into his view and fires at it when he managed to get a really good aim and managed to destroy the Tie fighter in the process. All Han could do was give a victorious laugh at his achievement for a moment.
A moment later two Tie fighters are seen heading towards the ship and fired once they got close then managed to split up.
Luke then saw another Tie fighter in his view and then took a moment to take an aim. Once Luke was sure he got a clear shot he gave himself a smile before firing at the fighter which resulted in another imperial fighter being destroyed much to Lukes excitement.
Luke: Got him! I got him!
He turned to Han who gave Luke a quick wave which Luke responded by waving him back.
Han: Great kid! Don't get cocky.
He told Lukle before turning back to his cannon.
Just two more Tie fighters remained as they once again flew towards the Falcon.
Back inside the cockpit Cheiwe is seen working with the ship's controls while Leia continues to view the ports.
Leia: There are still two more out there!
She informed Luke and Han who quickly got their blasters ready and waited for the Tie fighters to show up onto their screen.
When the Tie fighters got close to the Falcon they started to fire at it before splitting up into different directions.
Luke manages to notice one of them was coming close to his radar and as it did Luke quickly fired at it before it exploded.
Han then noticed that the last Tie fighter was getting close to his aim and when it closed into his direction he fired at the Tie fighter and as he did it easily exploded and when it became clear that no more Tie fighters were coming after the Falcon the entire group took a moment to celebrate in relief.
Luke: That's it! We did it!
He said excitedly while laughing in celebration.
Inside the pilot room Leia took a moment to hug Chewie in celebration as well.
Leia: Leia: We did it!
She told Chewie while still hugging the hairy creature.
Back in the hold area the entire Duck family also fell relieved upon hearing all the positivity that is going on through the speakers.
Dewey: It sounds like all of us are going to be safe now but I also had to admit that was completely insane.
Duckworth then appears in the holding room as well.
Duckworth: From what I have seen all enemy ships are down and the coast is clear.
Huey: Well it is a huge relief. We managed to escape death again. I don't know how much luck we are gonna have left.
May: Well I was thinking that we might die once the lights started to go on and off constantly.
June: I kinda felt that way too especially when the whole room started to shake like an earthquake.
Daisy: Well there's nothing to be afraid of anymore girls.
Donald: Well what matters is that all of us are now safe once again.
Della: So where are we gonna head off too now since we have now escaped that huge space station?
She asked.
Launchpad: Yeah, since we might be even bigger fugitives now for actions that we committed.
Scrooge: Well I guess wherever Han takes us or where we are gonna drop off the princess I'm best assuming.
Louie: So that means it's still going to be a long trip from home then I'm guessing?
He asked.
Scrooge: I'm afraid so lad.
Beakley: Well I'm still getting the feeling that one pilot should not be trusted.
Penumbra: You're talking about that Han guy right?
She asked.
Beakley: Yes.
Della: Kinda feel the same way to Beakley.
Webby: At least all of us are reunited as a family again and what happens next I know we are gonna get through it together.
Donald: You have a really great point right there Webby.
He said in agreement before continuing.
Donald: All we could do is just hope for the best for the rest of this space trip.
Huey: By the way, where are those two droid guys?
He asked as everyone quickly noticed they were in the Falcons passageway as 3PO is seen lying down on the floor completely tangled up in smoking and sparked up wires.
3PO: Help! I think I'm melting!
The big droid said in complete panik before putting his frustrations on R2 before continuing.
3PO: This is all your fault.
He angrily told his droid partner as all R2 could do was beep in response.
Not long after the Falcon still makes its way across space in no danger in complete sight heading for its next destination.
