Reflection Cave and Nazz's Rival
After leaving Geosenge Town, Kevin, Jonny, Rolf, and Nazz are currently walking down Route 11 on their way to Shalour City. Jonny was currently looking at his hand that Korrina shook, smiling.
"Are you going to look at that hand all day, Jonny?" asked Kevin.
"Probably." replied Jonny. The group took the time to train their Pokemon for their upcoming gym battles at the Shalour City Gym.
Jonny's Linoone learned Fury Swipes, his Ninjask learned Swords Dance, and his Sandile learned Swagger and Crunch.
Rolf's Wartortle learned Water Pulse and his Beedrill learned Toxic Spikes and Pin Missile.
Kevin and Nazz's Pokemon didn't learn anything new, but still got stronger. During the training, Jonny's Sandile began to glow.
"Hey, everyone! Sandile's evolving!" said Jonny. Kevin, Rolf, and Nazz gather and watched as Sandile began to change shape. When the glowing stopped, Sandile was taller, he now had arms, and now stood on two feet. Kevin takes out the pokedex and uses it to learn more about Jonny's newly evolved Sandile.
"Krokorok, the Desert Croc Pokemon and the evolved form of Sandile. The special membrane covering its eyes can sense the heat of objects, so it can see its surroundings even in darkness." said the pokedex.
"Right on!" cheered Jonny.
"Congrats, Jonny." said Kevin. As Rolf trained his Pokemon, he sees a large, red Pokemon that looked like it was dressed in karate attire walking around tall grass.
"Kevin, will you please use that pokedex dohickey so Rolf can know what this Pokemon is?" asked Rolf. Kevin takes out the pokedex and points it at the Pokemon.
"Throh, the Judo Pokemon. When it encounters a foe bigger than itself, it wants to throw it. It changes belts as it gets stronger." said the pokedex. Rolf looks at the Throh.
"Rolf would like to have such a strong Pokemon." said Rolf. He turns towards Braixen. "Braixen, help Rolf catch this Pokemon." Braixen nods and steps in front of Rolf. The Throh sees Braixen and goes into a fighting stance. "Rolf admires this Pokemon's courage. Braixen, use Psybeam!" Briaxen holds out her arm and fires a multicolored beam of energy out of her hand and it hits Throh, dealing super effective damage. Throh runs to Braixen and grabs her. It leaps up and throws Braixen down onto the ground, dealing damage. "Braixen, Flame Charge!" Braixen becomes surrounded by fire, charges at Throh, and rams it, knocking it back. Braixen begins surging with energy and her speed increases. Throh glares at Braixen and its eyes glow. Braixen slumps as her defense decreases. "I believe that was Leer. Braixen, Psybeam!" Braixen fires another Psybeam at Throh, hitting it and dealing super effective damage. Throh falls on its back and it struggles to stand up. Rolf pulls an empty pokeball out of his pocket and throws it at Throh, hitting it and sucking it in. After it wiggled around a few times, it clicks, indicating Throh's capture. "Rolf has captured a Throh!"
"Good work, Rolf." said Nazz. Throh's pokeball vanishes and is transferred to storage. Kevin takes out the pokedex and uses it to look up Throh's information.
"Okay, this says Throh's a dude, he knows Bind, Leer, Bide, Focus Energy, Seismic Toss, Vital Throw, and Revenge." said Kevin. "He has the Guts ability which makes him stronger when he has a status condition."
"Rolf is pleased with this capture." said Rolf.
"Hey, what's this little cutie?" asked Nazz. The others turned to see Nazz looking at an orange, rodent like Pokemon with black whiskers. Kevin takes out his pokedex and points it at the Pokemon.
"Dedenne, the Antenna Pokemon. It uses its tail to absorb electricity from power plants or from outlets in houses, and then it fires the electricity from its whiskers." said the pokedex. Nazz turned towards her Litleo.
"You like, want to help me catch this Pokemon, Floette?" asked Nazz. Floette nods in response. Nazz and Floette turned towards Dedenne. "Okay, Floette, use Magical Leaf!" Floette spins around and releases glowing green leaves from her body, and they hit Dedenne, knocking it to the ground. The Dedenne releases electricity from its body and it hits Floette, damaging her. "Okay, Floette, Vine Whip!" Floette swings her flower, and a green vine comes out of it and it strikes Dedenne. Dedenne runs at Floette and rams her, knocking her back. "Tackle, Floette!" Floette floats towards Dedenne and rams it, knocking it to the ground. Nazz takes an empty pokeball and throws it at Dedenne, hitting it and sucking it in. After it wiggled around a few times, it clicks, indicating a successful capture. "Yeah! Dedenne is mine!"
"Way to go, Nazz." cheered Kevin. Dedenne's pokeball is transported to storage. Kevin looks up Dedenne's information with the pokedex. "Okay, your Dedenne's a girl, she knows Tackle, Tail Whip, Thunder Shock, Charge, Charm, Parabolic Charge, and Nuzzle. She has the Pickup ability also."
"Pickup is a handy ability. When we get to a Pokemon Center, I'll transfer my Bidoof and put Dedenne in his place." said Nazz. The group returned their Pokemon to their pokeballs and continued travelling. Soon, they reached a cave entrance.
"This must be Reflection Cave." said Kevin. Jonny runs towards the cave.
"Come on! The sooner we get to Shalour City, the sooner I, er, we get to see Korrina!" said Jonny as he enters the cave.
"Wait up, Jonny!" said Kevin as he, Rolf, and Nazz run after Jonny, unaware that Charlotte was watching them. Charlotte walks to the cave entrance and enters. Inside Reflection Cave after catching up with Jonny, the group was looking around, looking in awe at the large crystals and reflective walls. Kevin looks at his reflection. "I guess now we know how this place got its name." As Jonny was looking at a large crystal, some dirt falls from above in front of him. Jonny looks up and saw what appeared to be a large, metal seed with green thorns fall and lands in front of Jonny. Jonny saw a pair of eyes on it, looking at him.
"Hey, Kevin, what's this Pokemon?" asked Jonny. Kevin takes out the pokedex and points it at the Pokemon.
"Ferroseed, the Thorn Seed Pokemon. It absorbs the iron it finds in the rock while clinging to the ceiling. It shoots spikes when in danger." said the pokedex. Jonny pulls out a pokeball.
"I'm gonna catch this Pokemon!" said Jonny. "Come out, Charmeleon!" He throws Charmeleon's pokeball and releases him. "Charmeleon, Fire Fang!" Charmeleon charges at Ferroseed while his mouth was covered in fire and bites it, dealing massive damage to it. Charmeleon flinches in pain. "You okay, Charmeleon?" Chameleon nods. Jonny sees Ferroseed lying on the ground. He takes an empty pokeball out of his pocket and throws it at Ferroseed, hitting it and sucking it in. After it wiggled around a few times, it clicks, indicating a successful capture. "Right on! I caught a Ferroseed!"
"Congratulations, Jonny the Wood Boy." said Rolf. Ferroseed's pokeball vanishes and is transported to storage. Kevin takes out the pokedex and uses it to look up Ferroseed's information.
"Okay. Your Ferroseed's a boy, he knows Tackle, Harden, Rollout, Curse, Metal Claw, and Pin Missile." said Kevin. "He has the Iron Barbs ability which hurts any Pokemon that attacks it physically."
"So that's why it looked like Charmeleon was hurt after biting Ferroseed." said Jonny. He returns Charmeleon to his pokeball and the group continues walking through Reflection Cave. Nazz was looking around, admiring the scenery.
"It's so awesome in here!" said Nazz. She looks at her reflection on one of the walls and stops to fix her hair. As she does, she sees Charlotte's reflection, frowning at her. She turns and looks at Charlotte. "Um, can I like, help you?" Kevin, Jonny, and Rolf turn, and they saw Charlotte. Nazz then sees Charlotte's Countess Cape. "Wow! You're a Countess too! I'll bet you're a strong trainer to earn that ranking!" Charlotte continued to frown at her, saying nothing. "Um, is there a problem?"
"Yes. Your positive attitude's making me sick." replied Charlotte.
"Well, I'm sorry if the way I am is bothering you, but it is who I am." replied Nazz.
"Whatever. Maybe beating you in a Pokemon battle will bring your spirit down." said Charlotte.
"Are you, like, challenging me to a Pokemon battle?" asked Nazz. Charlotte gave a nod in response. "Fine. I'll accept your challenge."
"Get her, Nazz!" said Kevin.
"You bet, Kevin!" replied Nazz, cheerfully.
"Again, with the positive attitude." said Charlotte, pinching the bridge of her nose, making Nazz frown at her. Soon, Nazz and Charlotte were standing several feet from each other while Kevin, Jonny, and Rolf watched.
"So, like, how many Pokemon are we using?" asked Nazz.
"Maybe beating two of your Pokemon will dampen your spirit." replied Charlotte as she pulls out a pokeball.
"Sounds good to me." said Nazz, happily, making Charlotte moan in disgust.
"Shuppet, go." said Charlotte, throwing a pokeball and releasing a dark gray Pokemon that looked like a cloth and had a horn on top of its head, levitating above the cave floor.
"What's that?" asked Kevin as he points the pokedex at the Pokemon.
"Shuppet, the Puppet Pokemon. It loves vengeful emotions and hangs in rows under the eaves of houses where vengeful people live." said the pokedex. Nazz pulls a pokeball out of her pocket.
"Litleo, go!" said Nazz, throwing Litleo's pokeball and releasing her. "Litleo, Fire Fang!" Litleo leaps at Shuppet while her mouth was covered in fire and bites it, but not appearing to do much damage to it. "How come that attack didn't do much to Shuppet?"
"I assume your Litleo has the Rivalry ability." replied Charlotte.
"Yeah, why?" asked Nazz.
"My Shuppet's male." said Charlotte.
"Oh man, not good. That means my Litleo's attacks won't deal much damage to him." said Nazz. Shuppet begins to glow orange. "But your Shuppet is totally burned, so now its attack is weakened, and he'll take some damage."
"Whatever. Shuppet, Leer." said Charlotte. Shuppet glares at Litleo and his eyes glowed red, weakening Litleo's defense. Shuppet winces in pain from his burn and he loses some stamina.
"Litleo, Noble Roar!" said Nazz. Litleo roars and she begins surging with energy.
"Great move, Nazz!" said Kevin.
"Shuppet, Knock Off." said Charlotte. Shuppet floats towards Litleo and strikes her with his cloth body, knocking her back. Shuppet winces from his burn, losing a little more stamina.
"Litleo, Leer!" said Nazz. Litleo glares at Shuppet and her eyes glow blue, weakening Shuppet's defense.
"Shuppet, Feint Attack." said Charlotte. Shuppet disappears. As Nazz and Litleo were looking around, Shuppet reappears in front of her and jabs her with his horn. Shuppet winces in pain again from his burn.
"Litleo, Fire Fang!" said Nazz. Litleo bites Shuppet again, dealing a lot of damage due to Shuppet's weakened defense and Litleo's increased attack.
"Shuppet, Knock Off." said Charlotte. Shuppet flies at Litleo and strikes her with his body, knocking her to the ground with swirly eyes.
"No, Litleo!" exclaimed Nazz.
"That almost made me smile." said Charlotte. Shuppet winces in pain from his burn and he falls to the ground with swirly eyes.
"Looks like both Pokemon are out." said Nazz.
"Whatever." said Charlotte as she returns Shuppet to his pokeball while Nazz returns Litleo to hers.
"It's okay, Litleo. You did your best." said Nazz.
"Hearing you reassure your Pokemon is giving me a headache." said Charlotte.
"Your attitude is so not cool!" exclaimed Nazz.
"It wasn't supposed to be cool." replied Charlotte. She and Nazz put their pokeballs away and they each pulls out another. "Gothita, go." She throws her Gothita's pokeball and releases her. Kevin points the pokedex at Gothita.
"Gothita, the Fixation Pokemon. They intently observe both Trainers and Pokémon. Apparently, they are looking at something that only Gothita can see." said the pokedex.
"Floette, go!" said Nazz, throwing Floette's pokeball and releasing her. "Floette, Grassy Terrain!" Floette waves her flower and releases hundreds of glowing green seeds that fall to the cave floor. Grass and flowers sprout out of the cave floor.
"Are you trying to make it disgusting in here?" asked Charlotte.
"No, I'm making Floette's grass attacks stronger." replied Nazz.
"Whatever. Gothita, Psybeam." said Charlotte. Gothita holds out her arms and releases a multicolored beam of energy that hits Floette, knocking her back.
"Floette, Magical Leaf!" said Nazz. Floette spins around and releases glowing green leaves from her body and they hit Gothita, dealing a lot of damage due to Grassy Terrain powering up Floette's grass type attacks.
"Gothita, Fake Tears." said Charlotte. Gothita cries and tears come out of her eyes, weakening Floette's special defense. Floette and Gothita both glow green and a little of their wounds heal.
"Good thing Grassy Terrain heals my Pokemon." said Nazz.
"It healed my Gothita too." muttered Charlotte.
"Floette, Wish!" said Nazz. Floette closes her eyes and mutters.
"Gothita, Psybeam." said Charlotte. Gothita releases another Psybeam and it hits Floette, dealing more damage due to her special defense being weakened.
"Razor Leaf!" said Nazz. Floette spins her flower and a pair of green leaves come out of it at Gothita and hits her. Grassy Terrain heals a little of Floette and Gothita's wounds. A white ball of light shoots out of Floette's flower and lands on Floette, healing more of her wounds. "Looks like Wish has taken effect."
"Don't care. Gothita, Psyshock." said Charlotte. Gothita holds out its arms and forms a mass of blue, light blue, and purple energy and launches it at Floette, hitting her and knocking her to the ground. Floette struggles to get up.
"You can do it, Floette!" said Nazz. Floette gets up and looks at Gothita with a determined look on her face. "Awesome! Now use Magical Leaf!" Floette spins and releases multiple glowing green leaves from her body, and they hit Gothita, dealing massive damage to her and knocking it to the ground with swirly eyes.
"You did it, Nazz!" cheered Kevin.
"Way to go!" cheered Jonny. Nazz runs to Floette, picks her up, and hugs her.
"You were awesome, Floette!" said Nazz. Floette nods, wearily. Charlotte returns Gothita to its pokeball.
"Here. Take your pokedollars so I can leave before your positive attitude makes me puke." said Charlotte, throwing pokedollars near Nazz.
"Like, what is your problem?" asked Nazz as Floette floats out of her arms.
"None of your business." replied Charlotte. She turns and walks away.
"I hope I beat you again someday!" said Nazz.
"Next time we meet, whether it be the Kalos League or the Battle Chateau, I will dominate you and crush your spirit." said Charlotte.
"So, like, does that mean we're rivals?" asked Nazz.
"I guess." replied Charlotte. She turns and walks away.
"Hey, I never got your name." said Nazz.
"Charlotte." said Charlotte.
"I'm Nazz." said Nazz.
"Whatever." replied Charlotte. She walks away while Nazz and the others watched her as she does.
