So, I am here with the continuation of the 'We Are Heroes' series which was originally written by Arrowverse Fan 217 from 2019 to 2022.
He has given me permission to continue writing the series, which I shall do and am eternally grateful for.
Now, since he has given me most of his ideas, I will be following through with them, though I will also take this series in a slightly different direction than what he had planned. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.
Anyway, with that covered, onto the main story.
Welcome to Part 11 of the 'We Are Heroes' series, which is easily going to be the biggest so far in this series, and the villain is none other than Viego, the Ruined King.
Of course, he isn't alone, as he has Hecarim, Thresh, Karthus and all the Ruined champions on his side as well.
Speaking of which, a lot more champions will be involved, both as Ruined and as Sentinels, because the canon event sucked.
All the Shadow Isles champions will also play much bigger roles than they did in canon, which was non-existent.
And I would say this story is divided into three arcs, with the first being the shortest and the third being the longest.
Now, on with the show!
Chapter 1- Rise of the Ruined King
Runeterra, Shadow Isles
Miss Sarah Fortune panted as she clutched a bleeding wound in her side.
After she and her allies had aided the Avengers and their allies in stopping Amara aka The Darkness on Earth-205, they had travelled to the dreaded Shadow Isles to fight the Ruined King.
Things weren't exactly going too well for them.
Ahri, Braum, Illaoi, Pyke and Yasuo stood in various states of exhaustion, while Viego smirked.
His pale skin reflected off the bleak sun rays coming from above. He held his giant green sword in one hand and a spectral crown hovered around his head.
"Fuck this guy." Miss Fortune groaned.
Pyke leapt and slammed a hard blow into Viego's face, making him stumble before Pyke was blasted by dark magic that sent him crashing to the rocks, breaking most of them on impact.
Ahri fired a powerful stream of magic which Viego blocked with his sword. She gritted her teeth, straining to break the barrier.
Braum charged with his shield, ramming into Viego and sending him tumbling to the ground. He rolled up and tried to slice but Braum leapt back in time.
Illaoi chanted as green magic flowed around her and she fired a blast that sent Viego skidding backwards.
"None of you will stop me from reaching my destiny!" he sneered.
"Uh huh, heard that one before." Yasuo rolled his eyes before drawing his sword and leaping into the air.
While he leapt, Fortune fired her pistols, forcing Viego to block. Yasuo sliced rapidly, though Viego countered smoothly. As they advanced, he screamed and unleashed a powerful burst of magic that sent them all flying back.
As Ahri staggered back up, Viego hurled his sword with all his might.
SLIP!
The blade impaled Ahri in the chest. She gasped and looked down, seeing Black Mist beginning to pour into the open wound.
"Ahri?" Yasuo called out in worry as they all stared.
"His love is pure, his love is unconditional." Ahri murmured as a spectral crown similar to Viego's appeared above her head.
"Are you okay?" Fortune asked. "You're not talking normally."
"Viego is the one true King!" Ahri said brightly, her eyes turning black. "His love is the greatest."
"And I'm convinced she's gone insane." Pyke shook his head.
"No, I have never been more certain in my life," Ahri laughed. "Isolde will return!"
Without another word, she turned and blasted Yasuo, causing him to crash to the ground, grunting in pain.
Fortune fired her pistols, but Ahri did a flip and dodged. Turning, Illaoi and Braum charged at Viego who smirked.
Braum rammed into him with his shield while Illaoi delivered a punch. Snarling, Viego ducked to avoid a wild right in time to meet a rising left uppercut that almost lifted him off his feet.
Yasuo was staggering, bleeding from a score of shallow cuts across his body, while Ahri fought Pyke and Fortune at the same time.
"Baka." He muttered which meant 'stupid' in the native Ionian tongue.
Ahri kicked Pyke in the chest, the blow sending him backwards, while Fortune fired but she spun and the bullet sailed harmlessly past her to crash into a rock.
Viego elbowed Illaoi in the face, breaking her nose and sending her down, while Braum went flying and hit a boulder, shattering it into pieces.
As Yasuo made to attack, he gasped in pain.
Looking down, he saw Viego's blade protruding from his chest, Black Mist seeping into the wound.
"Tell me, Yasuo, do you seek redemption for your brother's death?" Viego asked in a taunting tone.
His whole world spun, his vision blurry. All he could think about was his failure to prove his innocence and prevent Yone's death.
"Yes my Lord…I do." Yasuo said, his eyes turning black, while a spectral crown appeared above his head.
"Then kill them."
Yasuo sped towards Pyke, tripping him, while Fortune stared in horror. Black Mist tendrils gripped her head, screaming in agony.
"Surrender, Sarah, and I will grant you your revenge against Gangplank." Viego said.
Fortune grit her teeth, trying to resist, but Viego's power was seeping into her mind.
"Yes, my Lord, I shall aid you." She said, succumbing to his power.
"What the fuck?" Pyke groaned, looking around. Illaoi and Braum were unconscious and didn't look like they would be waking up anytime soon.
Ahri, Fortune and Yasuo had all been corrupted and enslaved by Viego and were stalking towards him, bloodthirsty grins on their Ruined features.
Behind them, Viego smirked, twirling his sword.
Pyke analyzed his odds. One against four were not exactly odds to inspire confidence. There was only one thing he could do now.
"Come on Pyke, give in." Viego said.
"Never. We will end you, Ruined King." Pyke glared.
Without another word, he turned and sprinted towards the edge of the cliff. Leaping into a swan dive, he crashed into the ice cold water and began swimming back to the port-city of Bilgewater at a superhuman speed.
He needed to gather allies if he was going to stop Viego.
Above, Fortune, Ahri, Yasuo and Viego watched Pyke swim away.
"Should we go after him, my liege?" Fortune asked.
"Forget it, he can no longer bother us," Viego said. "Now, we must find the fetters where my darling Isolde lies. Then we can reunite at long last."
"We will aid you." Yasuo promised as the three knelt before him.
Viego smirked. "Not even the Gods can stop me now."
The dark storms began raging violently, green lightning cracking like a whip in the sky.
"What shall we do about them?" Ahri pointed at the unconscious forms of Illaoi and Braum.
"Bring them. The priestesses' God may be useful after all." Viego said.
Unseen to them, a tall grey-skinned man wearing a hood observed them.
"Your evil will not triumph today, Ruined King," Yorick Mori growled. "I will stop you."
With that, he turned away into the shadows.
Earth-199999, New York Sanctum
The New York Sanctum's two residents stepped out of a guest room and closed the door behind them.
"It is fortunate we found her before Mordo did." Wong observed.
"Mm," Doctor Strange agreed about their guest. "Unfortunately, helping her is another thing entirely."
"I could check the Ancient One's collection," Wong suggested. "She might have dealt with something like this before."
"Way ahead of you." Strange glibly revealed.
Wong frowned at this.
"What are you going to do?" he asked.
Strange smirked. "I'm going to call our allies…and a legend."
And that's the end of chapter 1.
So Ahri, Miss Fortune and Yasuo have been corrupted and enslaved by Viego, while Illaoi and Braum have been captured for nefarious reasons.
Pyke has escaped and is now heading back to Bilgewater to gather allies.
The scene with Yorick speaks for itself. Like the other Shadow Isles champions, he and Maokai will play much bigger roles than they did in canon, which was, once again, basically non-existent.
And as for the last scene, who did Strange and Wong find? Those who read the beginning of Arrowverse Fan 217's version will know who it is, but to anyone else, can you guess?
All I will say is that it's a female League of Legends champion. Think and think hard.
Next chapter will be centered on the MCU Earth, so hope everyone's excited.
