Chapter twenty-four: Cold Combat, part three

The heroes, along with Reggie, Zoey, and Candice, were seated in the bleachers in the stadium of the Battle Pyramid, looking down as Brandon and Paul assumed their places for the battle. "What exactly is Paul thinking?" Zoey asked, "I mean, this Brandon guy seems to me like the kind of guy you do not wanna have to throw down with if one can help."

Brock nodded grimly. "...Brandon is strong, probably one of the strongest trainers out there. But then again, he owns the legendary Pokémon Regirock, Regice, and Registeel."

The others aside from Ash looked surprised by that; even Reggie seemed a bit surprised by the mention of Regice. As for Dawn and Kenny, they knew due to their knowledge they have from their previous life, but acted surprised so as to not give anything away. Dawn turned to look down into the arena, a look of serious contemplation on her face. "So Paul's facing an uphill battle, is what you're saying."

Given that Brandon was bound to be packing his legendary golems, same as he did in the anime in Dawn and Kenny's previous life, there was no way Paul was going to win.

Down in the arena, Paul said, "This will be a full battle, with substitutions allowed."

The Pyramid King nodded in agreement. "Sounds fair."

Paul gave his opponent a serious look, remembering back when he and his Torterra (who was a Turtwig at the time) saw Reggie lose horribly to Brandon. Seeing his older brother, who won without issue at all of the other Kanto Battle Frontier locations, lose in a complete and total landslide like that made Paul lose faith in Reggie, who decided to quit being a Pokémon trainer and go into being a Pokémon breeder.

Paul wanted to prove that he was better than Reggie, who gave up after one loss. Paul wanted to prove that he was better than Ash, who apparently had won against Brandon and earned the Brave Symbol, despite what Reggie says about Ash being a strong trainer. Paul wanted to prove that he was stronger than everyone, and he wasn't going to stop or give up until he stood above everyone who tries to stand up to him.

The cruel, serious trainer tossed up the pokéball that contained his first Pokémon for the battle against Brandon. "Magmar, standby for battle!"

"Regirock, I need your assistance!" Brandon said, sending out his first Pokémon for the battle, the legendary Pokémon Regirock. As she and the rest of the small audience watched, Dawn could tell that this was not going to end well for Paul. Aside from the obvious disadvantage Paul had since he was facing an opponent fielding multiple legendaries, Paul seemed a bit... on edge... to the reborn trainer as she saw the look on his face when Brandon sent out one of his Regis.

Remembering how things have gone here ever since she and Kenny had isekai'd, Dawn knows that Paul has suffered defeats he normally didn't suffer (Dawn herself with Kenny actually dealt Paul one of those losses), as well as a humiliation at the Pokéringer competition where he was disqualified rather than lose outright. Those losses and humiliations are looking to Dawn like they were adding up on Paul, and she hoped nothing bad would happen before she gets enough evidence to build the air-tight case to ensure the book gets thrown at the cruel boy.

...Although if something bad did happen before she could bring Paul to answer for all of his cruelty, then it would just serve Dawn as more evidence for the case she was trying to build against Paul.

...

As Dawn had strongly suspected, Brandon effortlessly defeated Paul six to zero. Dawn couldn't remember every detail from the battle between Paul and Brandon from the anime in her and Kenny's previous life, but she did remember that Brandon won using only the Regis, switching them in and out as need be. True to form, that's exactly how Brandon won here, switching his Regis in and out as need be in order to mop the floor with Paul's Pokémon no problem.

After winning against Paul, Brandon gave him the usual dressing down he always does after he defeats an opponent in the anime from Dawn and Kenny's previous life. "Your Pokémon are strong and well trained, I won't deny that," Brandon said, "But you allowed your emotions to consume you during our battle! Even the strongest trainers can lose a battle if they lose their heads in the heat of the moment! We can battle again, but only when you learn to con-"

"WHAT RIGHT DO YOU HAVE TO TALK DOWN TO ME LIKE THAT?!"

Everyone else in the stadium, even Brandon, looked shocked and cut off when Paul suddenly exploded like that at Brandon. "What right do you have to talk down to anyone like that?!" Paul went on, "You pulled the same thing when you beat Reggie, and now you're doing it again to me! You must really enjoy rubbing it in the faces of people you defeat that you beat them, don't you?! Just what is it with you talking down to people after you beat them?! Especially considering how you're doing it from your hiding spot!"

"Hiding spot?" Brandon said in surprise, barely getting over some initial shock from Paul exploding like that at him, "What are you tal-"

"Your hiding spot that you have behind your Regirock, Regice, and Registeel," Paul pointed out firmly while listing off of his fingers, "Three legendary Pokémon. Using them to beat down any and all challengers you face, then rub it in their faces that they lost by talking down to them like you were doing to me just now! Feh, it's no wonder that Reggie wasn't able to beat you, that I wasn't able to beat you! Name one normal Pokémon trainer out there who is even remotely capable of standing up to a coward like you!"

Silence. Nothing but silence. All was quiet in the stadium of the Battle Pyramid as those watching and listening went wide eyed at Paul yelling at Brandon that he was a coward. Dawn could swear that she could hear the words 'coward like you' echo throughout the stadium of the Battle Pyramid due to how everyone was stunned into silence. The reborn trainer even saw the look of shock that was on Brandon's face as he tried coming to his senses.

Slowly, the Pyramid King came to his senses, before closing his eyes and gently face palming as he let out a troubled sigh. "...Please leave now."

Scoffing bitterly, Paul turned around and left, but stopped short before actually exiting the stadium of the Battle Pyramid. The cruel trainer turned his head to glare at Brandon. "A final word of advice before I go," Paul practically snarled, "The next time you feel like rubbing it in the face of someone that you beat how you won against them, make sure that you win without using Regirock, Regice, or Registeel. You'll come off as less of a coward then."

Brandon pointed firmly out the door. "Leave. Now." Without another word, Paul turned around and left the Battle Pyramid. After Paul had left, Brandon let out another sigh. "...What a terrible little boy he was," Brandon remarked bitterly "Throwing a temper tantrum simply because he lost." Turning to look at where the heroes, Reggie, Zoey, and Candice sat, Brandon remarked to them, "At least Ash and Reggie both had the decency to be humble in defeat."

"Wait, I thought that Ash beat you," Kenny said to Brandon.

"On my third try," Ash clarified, making Kenny turn to look at him, "I lost on the first two."

Reggie sighed in a troubled tone. "Brandon, I am so sorry about my little brother just now. I have no idea where that emotional explosion just now came from."

"The boy obviously needs to be reeled in," Brandon admonished, "I hope that you, being the older one out of you two, can make him see reason." Reggie nodded in agreement, then he and the rest of the group got up and exited the Battle Pyramid.

Outside the Battle Pyramid, the heroes, Reggie, Zoey, and Candice saw Paul walking away. "Hey Paul!" Reggie called out, making his younger brother take pause and turn to see him and the others all come catching up to him. "...With all due respect, that little outrage of yours just now was a very shameful way to act," Reggie said, disappointment clear in his tone, "You need to go and apologize to Brandon as soon as he's calm enough to hear anything from you."

Scoffing, Paul said, "I'll apologize to Brandon when he agrees to stop being a coward."

"Paul, seriously!" Ash snapped at the cruel trainer, clearly being at his limit with him, "What the hell is wrong with you?!" Everyone looked at Ash like he had instantly sprouted a second head. Even Dawn, even Kenny. Even Paul looked surprised at Ash, whose expression was one of pure fury.

Over where they were hiding as they spied on the heroes and everyone else, even Team Rocket looked utterly shocked. "Did..." Jessie said to James and Meowth while pointing over to where Ash stood with the others, "...Did the twerp seriously just curse just now?"

Letting out a whistle, Meowth said, "Well wowee, I think that's the first time that I ever heard the twerp curse. Never took him to be a potty mouth."

"And here I thought we were getting under the twerp's skin," James said, "But despite all we've tried to do to the twerp, he never cursed at us. The idiot twerp did curse at us that one time, but not the twerp himself." James actually looked a bit uncomfortable due to having heard Ash curse just now. "...A part of me wants to refrain from bothering the twerp and his friends until they've calmed down from this tension." Jessie and Meowth nodded in agreement with James, and the three of them all turned around and snuck off.

After Team Rocket had successfully snuck off, over where the heroes and everyone else stood, Ash continued to glare at Paul. Seeing this got Paul to snap back from his shock, then glare right back at the Kanto region native. "...Not as much as what's wrong with you, obviously," Paul sneered, "Having to resort to foul language like that to get attention."

"Like your little explosion at Brandon wasn't an attention grabber?" Ash snapped, "Seriously, Paul! You have got to clean your act up!"

"Someone who has never beaten me in a proper battle has no right to tell me off or tell me what to do," Paul scowled.

"Then how about you and Ash have a Full Battle?" Everyone turned to look at Reggie when he had spoken up just now. Everyone turned to face Reggie as he went on. "Six on six, singles," Reggie said as he looked at everyone, "In ten days at Lake Acuity." Reggie turned his gaze to look at his younger brother. "You'll agree to clean up your act and fly right, starting by properly apologizing to Brandon, if Ash defeats you. What say you, Paul?"

Paul actually let out a laugh at what his older brother had said just now. "Ha! Like that weak trainer actually has a chance against me."

"The guy who lost to Brandon," Ash said in a knowing and bitter tone, his arms folded over his chest, "Calling the guy who won against Brandon a weak trainer. Now that's a funny joke."

Paul glared angrily at Ash. "...Challenge accepted." The younger brother turned to look at the older brother. "Lake Acuity. Ten days. I hope you know what you're doing with this." Paul turned around and left, but even after he was gone, things still felt tense.

After the cruel trainer was gone, the reborn trainers both turned to look at Ash. "...You had better bring your A-game for the Lake Acuity battle in ten days, my good dude," Kenny said as he looked at Ash, "Because jerk muffin or not, Paul does boast power."

Ash nodded once in understanding, the expression on his face firm. "I intend to." As for Dawn, she couldn't help but worry about where this will lead; in the anime in her and Kenny's previous life, the Lake Acuity battle between Ash and Paul had Ash lose to Paul while only managing to take out two of his Pokémon. If that result ended up repeating here, then it would only serve to further set Paul in his cruel ways, not to mention it would cause even more depression because Paul, who is arguably worse here than he was in the anime, still won.

...But then again, Ash here has Pokémon he either didn't have yet at this point or never got period. And he's shown some more competence than what Dawn remembered from the anime. Maybe, if Ash plays his cards right, then things will again go vastly different here than what Dawn recalled from the anime in her and Kenny's previous life. But that all depended on how well Ash battled, as well as what Poké-

Dawn's thought process was cut off when Maria and Samuel arrived, grabbing everyone's attention. As the two of them came over, Brandon came running out of the Battle Pyramid. "Brandon, terrible news!" Samuel said, "A mysterious group had just arrived at Snowpoint Temple and sealed up the whole place!"

"What?!" Brandon exclaimed, "We need to get going! With me to the Pyramid!" As Brandon led the two others away, Ash got his attention.

"Hey Brandon!" Ash said, "My friends and I can help!" Brock and the reborn trainers all nodded in agreement, although Zoey, Reggie, and Candice all said they had to back down.

Looking at the heroes, seeing the determination in their eyes, Brandon nodded in consent. "The more hands I have on deck, the better!" Brandon then led everyone going to check out Snowpoint Temple back to the Battle Pyramid, where it took off and flew towards its destination.

...Unbeknownst to the heroes, however, Team Rocket tagged along by clinging to the side of the Battle Pyramid when it took off.

A short while later, as the Battle Pyramid closed in on Snowpoint Temple, everyone stood in the control room, with Brandon at the wheel. "I have a visual on the front of Snowpoint Temple," Samuel said, making everyone turn to see the screen that Samuel stood in front of. They saw a bunch of people dressed as hunters standing outside, with one woman in a dark long coat who struck Ash as instantly recognizable.

"That's Pokémon Hunter J!" Ash exclaimed, "What's she doing here?"

"...Nothing good?" Kenny sounding like he was guessing more than saying.

"Obviously," Ash replied, "We need to stop her!"

...

Down on the ground outside of Snowpoint Temple, J looked up and saw the Battle Pyramid closing in. "Men, strike that flying fortress down!" J ordered, "Don't let it get anywhere even remotely close to us!"

All of the others, obviously J's henchmen, sent out Metangs and Skarmorys and had them fire Sludge Bombs and Flash Cannons at one of the engines on the Battle Pyramid, busting it to make the Battle Pyramid go down for an emergency landing.

...

In the Battle Pyramid control room, Brandon looked around at everyone. "Are all of you alright?" the Pyramid King called out.

"We'll live," Brock replied as he and everyone else stood up.

Samuel looked at some of the smaller screens. "One of the engines is busted. I'll have to stay here to repair it."

"Very well," Brandon replied. To the heroes and Maria, Brandon said, 'We'll go in the smaller airship!"

...

A short while later, the heroes, along with Brandon and Maria, were zooming towards Snowpoint Temple in Brandon's smaller airship. The henchmen working for J saw the small craft approach them, and had their army of Metang and Skarmory attack. But the vast swarm of steel Pokémon were all taken down by flashes of electricity, bringing many of the Skarmory down. Additionally, dark pulsing beams of aura shot out and struck down many of the Metang.

In the smaller airship, Ash and Kenny had Pikachu and Juan (Kenny rotated his party before going to watch the show at the Battle Pyramid) using Thunderbolt, while Dawn had Leni using Dark Pulse. Technically, not all of the steel Pokémon were shot down, but the heroes were able to keep trouble at bay long enough to reach Snowpoint Temple and land. J, unconcerned by the meddling of those who came, immediately turned around and went into the Temple.

"After her!" Brandon yelled as he and the others ran into Snowpoint Temple after J, with their Pokémon fighting off the henchmen who tried to stop them.

Deep in the lowest reaches of Snowpoint Temple, J looked around at three pillars, one each made of rock, ice, and steel, then in the center of the triangle formed by those points was a sphere. J smirked to herself as she called out her Salamence. 'Salamence, destroy these pillars with Hyper Beam!" J ordered.

Acting as commanded, J's Salamence charged up its Hyper Beam attack and fired it, destroying the rock pillar first, then the ice pillar. With only the steel pillar left, J pointed at it as she barked, "Now destroy the ste-"

"Stop this instant at once!" Brandon yelled out, making J pause and prompting both her and her Salamence to turn and see Brandon, the heroes, and Maria come running in.

"Plesase don't awaken Regigigas!" Maria begged, "It's not a good idea to forcefully awaken so powerful of a Pokémon!"

J arched a wry eyebrow before pointing to the steel pillar. "Salamence, Hyper Beam!" The dragon fired its attack at the steel pillar, destroying it with a blast. After the steel pillar was taken down, the sphere began glowing, but nothing much was happening. "Salamence," J began, "Hit that sphere with Flamethrower!"

On J's command, Salamence unleashed a potent fiery breath weapon attack at the sphere, bathing it in a heated sea of scarlet inferno. As Salamence spewed its Flamethrower, the triangle on the floor that was connected by the three pillars which J had destroyed began glowing. In a flash of red light, the legendary Pokémon Regigigas emerged from its long slumber. The mighty titan cried out in confused outrage as it was forcefully awoken.

"Regigigas has awoken!" Maria cried out in worry. And she had good reason to be worried, as Regigigas immediately proceeded to unleash Hyper Beam in all sorts of directions, hitting the walls and ceiling of the deep down room everyone was in.

Smirking evily in amusement, J readied her petrifing bracelet to shoot at Regigigas. Seeing this and knowing from the anime in her and Kenny's previous life what will happen, Dawn said, "Leni, use Psychic to crush that bracelet that Hunter J is wearing!" The named Lucario looked up at J, saw the petrifing bracelet the evil hunter wore, then aimed her right hand at J as her eyes glowed brightly with psychic power.

J stopped short when her petrifing bracelet was enveloped in that same psychic power, before it was squeezed and eventually crushed as she wore it, destroying it in the process. "No! Now I can't take Regigigas!" J turned to look down at where Dawn stood, glared at her angrily. "How dare you, little girl!" J snarled, "I'll make you pay for that! Salamence, use-"

*RUMBLE*

The temple shook violently, cutting J off. The hunter scoffed bitterly, realizing that she had to get out of there before it was too late. Riding on her Salamence, J quickly flew out of Snowpoint Temple before it could trap her. The heroes, Brandon, and Maria all escaped as well, with Brandon using his legendary titans to protect everyone and cover their escape.

...

J met up with her henchmen outside of Snowpoint Temple. "We cannot capture Regigigas, men," J said bitterly, "Some spoiled little brat had her Lucario break my petrifing bracelet. We need to fall back and come up with-"

"Zarbon, shoot that Salamence down with Stone Edge!"

J was cut off when a Stone Edge flew in out of nowhere. Seeing this, J had Salamence take evasive action, but the Stone Edge attack kept following her and Salamence, as if it was locked onto them. Eventually, the Stone Edge hit Salamence, striking it hard and with enough force to knock J off of her draconic perch. After hitting the ground, J propped herself up as she saw the heroes, Brandon, and Maria come out of Snowpoint Temple before it could collapse, with Kenny being followed by his named Machamp.

"How did that Stone Edge not miss?!" J exclaimed as she struggled to get back up.

"Zarbon's No Guard ability!" Kenny declared, "It makes sure his attacks always land, ensuring that Zarbon always gives the enemy a hard pounding!"

"MAAAAAAACHAAAAAAAMP!" Zarbon cried out in aroused, sensual pleasure.

J growled in annoyance as she properly stood up. As her Salamence got itself back up as well, J called out her Ariados when she saw Kenny and Dawn move in to confront her. J's henchmen tried to back their boss up, but Ash, Brock, and Brandon began fighting all of the henchmen off. "Good luck trying to stop me, you little brats!" J hissed, "I'll just beat the both of you down then get out of here while you're both writhing in defeat!"

"Good luck with that, miss forty and still single!" Kenny said, "Zarbon, hit Salamence with Stone Edge again!"

"Leni, use Psychic on Ariados!" Dawn commanded.

Pointing forward, J shouted, "Salamence, use Hyper Beam on Machamp! Ariados, use String Shot on Lucario!"

Leni's eyes glowed brightly with psychic power, making the String Shot flying at her fall to the ground harmlessly before going on to strike Ariados with a powerful telekinetic blast, slamming it away until it flew into a boulder and was knocked out instantly. As for Salamence, its Hyper Beam did hit Zarbon, but it would take more than that to stop the named Machamp, whose Stone Edge went on to strike Salamence in the gut. Combined with the damage it took from the initial Stone Edge which knocked it and J out of the air, Salamence was knocked out.

"How dare you brats defy me!" J bellowed, "I'll get my revenge on you for this!" J recalled her Pokémon and turned to run, but was only able to get a meter away before she was levitated into the air by Leni's Psychic, leaving her a floating sitting duck. "Let me go this instant, you little brats!" J screamed, "I refuse to be brought in! I will not be turned over to the authorities!"

Dawn had Leni bring J down, still keeping the evil hunter pinned with Psychic, while Kenny had Zarbon knock J out with a punch to the face. With J unconscious, Dawn proceeded to confiscate her Pokémon, to make sure she couldn't fight back if she woke up. "Hey! Those brats just knocked out the boss!" one of J's henchmen yelled. Running towards Dawn and Kenny, that henchman called out, "We need to-"

That henchman was cut off when the rubbled ruins of Snowpoint Temple erupted from within, as Regigigas burst out and proceeded to go on a rampage out of anger over being awoken. This involved firing a stream of Hyper Beam which flew at the ground near where most of the henchmen stood, blowing up around them and knocking most of the henchmen out. Seeing the legendary titan boss burst from the ruins and rampage like that freaked a lot of people out.

"Yo dudes!" Kenny yelled, "We need to stop Regigigas from going berserk-o freak-o right now!"

Looking around, Dawn saw that Ash, Brock, Brandon, and Maria were still all okay. The small handful of J's henchmen who weren't knocked out, like four henchmen max, were clearly frightened as they all turned tail and ran, without even bothering to try to take any of their knocked out fellows with them. They didn't even try to rescue J from her and Kenny. Still, not wanting to let things go to chance, Dawn looked over at where the boys stood with Maria.

"Brandon!" Dawn called out, getting the Pyramid King's attention, "Think that you can do something about Regigigas? I'd offer to help but I feel that me and Kenny ought to keep an eye on J here while she's still unconscious!"

Brandon nodded in acknowledgement. "Indeed I can, young lady!" Turning to look at Ash, Brock, and Maria, Brandon said, "Maria, you go assist those two kids in guarding the knocked out Pokémon Hunter boss. We cannot afford risking letting her get away. Ash and Brock, you two go tie up all of the knocked out henchmen. We can turn all of them in over to the authorities along with their boss!" Turning to face the rampaging Regigigas, Brandon said, "I've got my own work to do here!"

Maria went over to Dawn and Kenny to help them guard the knocked out J, while Ash and Brock went about using various lengths of rope to tie up the henchmen. "Ah, we only have two coils," Brock said, "This won't be enough to tie up all of the hench-"

"Did someone call for some backup?" James called out suddenly, making the heroes and Maria turn to see Team Rocket come on in. "At ease, twerps," James said when he, Jessie, and Meowth saw Ash and Brock get defensive, "We aren't in the mood to ruffle your feathers today."

Meowth nodded in agreement as James and Jessie pulled some coils of rope out from duffle bags they had. "On the contrary, we're hoping to smooth those feathers out. Also, helping to round up these guys will eliminate some competition for Team Rocket."

"...Just make sure you stay out of Brandon's way," Ash said as he, Brock, Jessie, James, and Meowth all proceeded to tie up the henchmen. Looking over where the Pyramid King was facing off against Regigigas, Ash said, "Given what he's doing, it'd be too dangerous to get in the way."

...

"Everyone, hit Regigigas with Hyper Beam!" Brandon called out. The legendary titans under his command all fired Hyper Beams at Regigigas, but it countered all three with a Hyper Beam of its own. Seeing that Regigigas alone was proving a challenge even for Regirock, Regice, and Registeel together, Brandon knew that he had to wrap this up quickly before the legendary titan boss was able to overpower his Pokémon.

Gesturing forward dramatically, Brandon said, "Regirock and Registeel, grab onto Regigigas's arms to hold it back! While they have it pinned Regice, I want you to hit it with Zap Cannon!" Regirock and Registeel went in and acted as ordered, grabbing onto Regigigas's left and right arm respectively. With them holding Regigigas back, Regice took aim and fired a Zap Cannon, hitting Regigigas just after Regirock and Registeel jumped off to avoid being hit by aftershocks from the attack.

The Zap Cannon ended up paralyzing Regigigas, slowing it down significantly. "Everyone, unleash Focus Punch onto Regigigas!" Brandon called out. The legendary titans pulled their fists back as each pulled fist glowed with power. Regigigas, slowed by paralysis, wasn't able to raise any sort of defense in time, and as such it took three Focus Punches, sending it reeling back and collapsing onto a pile of rubble from the Snowpoint Temple ruins.

The Pyramid King smiled confidently, took out a pokéball in preparation to capture Regigigas. "Now all I have to do is capture Regigigas," Brandon said as he stepped forward. However, a gut instinct in the back of Brandon's head screamed at him at the top of its lungs to get back. Always trusting his gut instincts, the Pyramid King jumped back, and his timing was good too, as Regigigas got up and swung its large and mighty fist at Regirock, knocking it back with Hammer Arm.

After Regirock was knocked back, Regigigas took aim at Regice and blasted it with Hyper Beam, sending a second one of Brandon's legendary titans reeling. Regigigas, even with all of the damage it took and still being paralyzed, was not going to go down easy. Brandon, with only Registeel left by his side, looked up at the legendary titan boss, grim worry on his face as he was presented with a challenge even he was greatly struggling with.

END, CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR

Author's notes;

This chapter covers the episode where Paul lost to Brandon; nothing there changed aside from Paul's reaction to being utterly decimated by the Pyramid King. Paul here has suffered a LOT more failures than he did in the anime by this point, and those failures are getting to him, keeping him from seeing other points of view. Reggie still arranges for the Lake Acuity battle between Ash and Paul, hoping Ash can get Paul to see what others see. But with tensions as high as they are, at least Dawn isn't sure where this will lead.

The episode in Snowpoint City involving Regigigas is also covered, and plays out more or less the same up until Dawn destroys J's petrifing bracelet inside Snowpoint Temple. The inevitable melee outside of Snowpoint Temple also plays out differently, seeing J herself and most of her henchmen being knocked out and captured for turnover to the proper authorities; even Team Rocket helps with tying up J's henchmen, although with the stated reason being they were interested in reducing the competition (Meowth was coming off as mildly tsundere).

...Although four of J's henchmen did get away...

Dawn's Pokémon: (on hand) Chi-Chi (female Infernape), Leni (female Lucario), Cyrus (male Staraptor), Akiza (female Roserade), Germany (male Garchomp), Nobunaga (male Togekiss)

Kenny's Pokémon: (on hand) Roshi (male Torterra), Zarbon (male Machamp), Cell (male Scizor; shiny), Goofy (male Houndoom), Juan (male Pikachu), Slick (male Snorlax)

Ash's Pokémon: Pikachu (male), Phione (gender unknown), Infernape (male), Staraptor (male), Swampert (female), Gardevoir (female; obese)
