The Kingdom of Aincrad casts a dark shadow in the world and yet so many people want to live behind its walls.

In December 2022, the Japanese company Argus released what was expected to be one of the killer apps on the NerveGear - ACES Online. A follow up to the VR mode for Ace Combat 7, developed into its own game, with a true multiplayer online experience, and a campaign set in the Strangereal world... No one expected to be forced to fight for survival in the game.

Tsukino Usagi is 12 years old when she logins into Sword Art Online. She’s 12 years old when she meets the players Umi and Sora. She’s 12 years old when she’s trapped in that virtual world. Tenoh Haruka and her girlfriend Kaiou Michiru are both 13 when they log into Sword Art Online. They’re 13 when they meet another player who goes by Tsuki. Then they find they were trapped.

Aincrad has kept its independence, but now everyone wants to control it, take advantage of it, escape to it, or destroy it. Maybe it was a bad decision to let people in.

The world of Strangereal in the 1960s and 1970s was far from peaceful, and whilst the players of the 23rd continue to work their way through their campaign, the world carries on around them. Here are some of those untold stories...

Ben Tennyson has many adventures but his new adventures in a game. 1,000 of people are trapped in a virtual reality game called Sword Art Online where they had to win or die. So Ben had to enter SAO to save and free everyone who is trapped in the game. Many challenges will ahead of Ben and his new friends and allies.

DOO is the first game to be created in a long awaited category, a VRMMORPG. Follow Kirito and co as they seek to clear out the depths of the dungeon located beneath the city Orario. However, this game is no mere entertainment, it's a real world, where death in the dungeon means death for your body. The only way they can escape the game is to clear the bottom floor of the dungeon.

The final series of the Xehanort/Younsol arc, with Sora, Asuna, Kirito, & their companions banding together against Organization XVI, as well as another threat that is gathering darkness. With two dimensions on the line, the heroes must seek out not just the Guardians of Light, but the Lost Princesses of Heart, in order to fight back the darkness... no matter the cost.

Josuke receives a NerveGear and a copy of SAO just in time for the full release and dives in. However, it quickly becomes a matter of life and death as he and Kirito fight for their lives amongst 10,000 players.
