Episode 6: Mt. Moon Over Sora and Kairi
Shortly after winning his very first Gym battle against Brock, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel starts to head towards Cerulean City, but before that, they make their way towards Mount Moon.
"Hey, Kairi. Any idea why it's called Mount Moon?" Sora asked.
"When I was little, my mom and dad would tell me stories about frequent meteor showers that occurs on nights of a full moon," Kairi said.
"Meteor showers on nights of the full moon?" Sora asked.
"Yeah. It is also said that Cleffa, Clefairy, and Clefable would appear during the full moon, and dance under the moon's light. And the metoers are said to be the Moon Stone," Kairi explained.
"As in the evolution stone?" Sora asked.
"The same. Also, we got lucky, because tonight's the night of the full moon, because I would like to watch the metoer shower with you; if that's what you want, Sora," Kairi said.
"Sure, I would be more than happy to," Sora said. Sora and Kairi continued walking down the path. They made a stop for a break when Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel came across an Ekans. They wondered if Team Rocket were around, so he looked around.
"It looks like a wild Ekans," Kairi said.
"I guess you're right," Sora said. He took out his Pokédex and scanned Ekans
Ekans, the Snake Pokémon
Type: Poison
It slithers in stealth when it hunts for prey. When it comes across its unsuspecting victim, Ekans strikes and swallows its prey whole.
"Being a snake, it has no problem with choking," Sora said.
"Ekanssss," Ekans hissed.
"But I think he'd make a good catch for you, Sora. Go for it," Kairi said.
"You sure, Kairi?" Sora asked.
"I'm sure, Sora," Kairi said.
"Okay," Sora said. He took out a Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Butterfree!" The Pokéball opened and Butterfree flutters out.
"Ree, ree!" Butterfree chirped.
"Use Gust!" Sora ordered. Butterfree flapped his wings and sends out a wind. Ekans is caught in the wind and then came at the Butterfly Pokémon and wrapped himself around Butterfree and squeezed. "Use Confusion!" Butterfree's eyes eyes glow pale red and his body becomes outlined in pale red as well. Ekans's body is outlined in pale red as well. The opponent's body becomes outlined in pale red and its body starts to glow the same color. Butterfree controlled Ekans and sends him in the air. Ekans is slammed on the ground. Ekans then fired Poison Sting at Butterfree. "Dodge and use Tackle!" Butterfree tackled into Ekans, making the Snake Pokémon fall backwards. Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it. Ekans flows inside and the Pokéball wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. Sora's Pokémon Box goes off asking him if he wants to keep Ekans with him. He chose to send Ekans to Professor Oak's lab.
Over to Pallet Town, Professor Oak he smiled as the Pokéball teleported in.
"Oh, this is great. Sora is making good use of his Pokémon Box! I wonder what he sent me," Professor Oak said. He took the Pokéball and opened it. Ekans came on out. "Aw, an Ekans! A job well done!" He called Ekans back inside the Pokéball.
Back at Mount Moon, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel were making their way towards Mount Moon.
Right inside a cave in Mount Moon, four individuals are inside the cave. Two are men and one is a woman. They wore black uniforms with a red R on the chest area. The woman wore black skirt with a large red "R", belt, long sleeves, white knee-length boots, and white gloves that go up to the forearm. The men's uniforms are the same except that it has pants and a shirt instead of a dress, and the boots only go up halfway to the knees. All grunts wore black hats. They are grunts of Team Rocket.
"There have to be Pokémon fossils around here sometime," the female Team Rocket grunt said.
"We have the best scientists in the world helping us when it comes to resurrecting prehistoric Pokémon and bringing them into Team Rocket for the cause of evil," one of the male Team Rocket grunts said.
"At least we'll get the job done, unlike those two losers with the mangy Meowth," the second Team Rocket grunt said.
"Ugh, don't bring them up. Those three losers have been trying to butter up the boss since they got in. The only thing they could catch is a cold," the female Team Rocket grunt said. They all laughed.
Meanwhile, Jessie, James, and Meowth all sneezed at once.
"Anyone have a feeling someone's talking about us?" James asked.
"You're just being paranoid. Who could be talking about us?" Meowth asked.
"Just about anyone we know in Team Rocket," James said.
"That truth cuts just like a knife," Meowth said.
"Why are you talking about that? We'll be going right on the top after we snatch Pikachu!" Jessie said.
"Yeah, it'll shut those know-it-all grunts up," James said.
"We'll be in the money!" Meowth said.
"Yay!" Team Rocket cheered.
Over to Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel were still making their way to Mount Moon when they were resting a bit.
"Ah, nothing like a break," Sora said. He saw an apple up in the tree he was resting against. "Hum, Pikachu and Angel would like that apple to share." Sora started to climb up the tree and reached for the apple. Another hand touched the same apple. "Huh?" He saw what looks like a simian Pokémon, similar to a New World monkey. It is bipedal and has a round body covered in whitish, shaggy fur. Its nose is similar to a pig's snout, and it has narrow, red eyes and triangular ears with brown insides. Its three-fingered hands, two-toed feet, and the tip of its curved, prehensile tail are brown. This Pokémon is Mankey. "Hey, I saw that first!" Sora and the monkey Pokémon fought over the apple. Their struggle made them both fall off. Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel saw the two of them on the ground. The apple rolls in front of Pikachu and Angel.
"Sora, you okay?" Kairi asked. She looked at Mankey. She took out her Pokédex and scanned it.
Mankey, the Pig Monkey Pokémon
Type: Fighting
It lives in treetop colonies. If one becomes enraged, the whole colony rampages for no reason.
She puts her Pokédex away and ran over to Sora.
"Are you, okay, Sora?" Kairi asked. She helps him up.
"Just fine," Sora said. Mankey looked right at her and he blushed at how pretty she is. Mankey took Kairi by the hand and nuzzles her.
"Oh, you're really sweet," Kairi said. Mankey climbed up to her shoulders and continued to nuzzle her. "And you're really cute."
"Mankey," Mankey said.
Sora slowly took out a Pokéball and tossed it. Mankey was too distracted, nuzzling Kairi to notice, so it flowed inside. The Pokéball wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. Sora's Pokémon Box goes off asking him if he wants to keep Mankey with him. He chose to send Mankey to Professor Oak's lab.
"Got me a Mankey," Sora said proudly. "It sure liked you, Kairi."
"He was pretty friendly, Sora," Kairi said.
"I thought it was a boy Mankey, because if I didn't know better, he had a crush on you. Maybe have a King Kong theme going on," Sora teased. Kairi couldn't help but giggle.
"Very funny. The only difference is, King Kong wasn't a Pokémon, and he was 50 foot tall, and climbed up the tallest building in the city," Kairi said.
"Yeah, and he was also shot down," Sora said. "It was beauty that killed the beast." Kairi rolled her eyes and continued on their way after they rested a little while longer. Just when Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel continued on as they came across a Pokémon that resembles an armadillo. It has a white belly and a yellow back. Its back resembles bricked pavement or walls. It has a short tail, four short legs and a small head. "Hey, a Sandshrew!" Sora took out his Pokédex and scanned it.
Sandshrew, the Mouse Pokémon
Type: Ground
To protect itself from attackers, it curls up into a ball. It lives in arid regions with minimal rainfall.
"Okay, Ground-type Pokémon resists Electric-type moves, but I have just the Pokémon to do that job," Sora said. He took out a Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Bellsprout!" Bellsprout emerged from the Pokéball and readied himself to battle. "Use Vine Whip!" Bellsprout sends out to whip Sandshrew. The Ground-type Mouse Pokémon curls up in a ball, resembling a basketball. The vines bounced off. Sandshrew uncurls and heads towards Bellsprout and scratches Bellsprout. "That was scratch! Bellsprout! Use Growth and then Vine Whip!" Bellsprout starts up with Growth, and then uses Vine Whip at Sandslash. Sandshrew rolls into a ball again. "Again with Defense Curl! Use Bellsprout! Vine Whip!" Bellsprout uses Vine Whip and it does little damage despite having the type advantage. "One more Vine Whip!" Bellsprout unleashed Vine Whip and smacked Sandshrew again. Sora saw it was weakened enough and took out a Pokéball and threw it. Sandshrew flows inside and the Pokéball wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. Sora's Pokémon Box goes off asking him if he wants to keep Sandshrew with him. He choose to keep Sandshrew in exchange for Rattata.
"Nice catch," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel added.
"Thanks, Kairi," Sora said. He blushed. They heard a scream. Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel ran in the direction of the scream. They saw someone, a lanky young man in a lab coat and round glasses being attacked a bunch a bunch of Pokémon that blue bats. It has a short, round body, purple wings, and slim legs missing feet.
"Pika!" Pikachu said. Sora took out his Pokédex and scanned the bat-like Pokémon.
Zubat, the Bat Pokémon
Type: Poison/Flying
Zubat emits ultrasonic cries while it flies. They act as a sonar used to check for objects in its way
"I don't know what those Zubat are mad about, but that guy needs help!" Sora said.
"You're right! Let's help!" Kairi said. "Angel! Use Tackle!" Angel ran towards the Zubat and missed.
"Pikachu! Thunder Shock!" Sora ordered.
"Pikachu!" Pikachu shocked the Zubat forcing them to retreat, all but one. The last Zubat dove at Pikachu. Zubat flew at Pikachu with its wings out.
"He's using Wing Attack!" Kairi gasped.
"Pikachu! Dodge and use Thunder Shock again!" Sora ordered and Pikachu obeyed. The man turned to see that the attacking Zubat had already left. Pikachu shocked the last Zubat, making it fall to the ground. Sora threw a Pokéball at the Zubat trapping it inside. The Pokéball swerved back and forth. The Pokémon inside tried to break free. Stars swirled around the Pokéball confirming the catch. "Gotcha!" Sora's Pokémon Box goes off asking him if he wants to keep Zubat with him. He chose to keep Zubat in exchange for Beedrill. "There. He went over to the scientist said. "You okay, dude?"
"I am thanks to you!" The scientist said, in a nerdy voice. He embraced Sora. "I'm alive thanks to you wonderful young people! I'm alive! I'm alive!"
"It was nothing really," Sora said being muffled.
"I'm talking super fantis-fabulistic!" The scientist said. "That was the best rescue that I ever had! That was two thumbs up! Way up!"
"I am so very grateful to you!" The scientist exclaimed.
"Off!" Sora said, fighting out of his grip. "Don't do that."
"Oh, sorry. I'm just glad you showed up when you did! My name's Seymour, and I'm a scientist!"
"I'm Sora, and this is Pikachu," Sora introduced himself and his partner.
"My name's Kairi, and this is Angel," Kairi introduced herself and the female Eevee.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Just what happened in there?" Sora asked.
"And why did those Zubat attack you?" Kairi asked.
"To be honest, I don't know. I was just doing some research here in Mount Moon, and the Zubat suddenly attacked me unprovoked. They must have thought I was invading their territory or something," Seymour said.
"Better being attacked by Zubat than being attacked by Heartless," Sora said in his thoughts.
"Seymour, was it? You didn't see anything else out of the ordinary, did you?" Sora asked.
"Not really. Why?" Seymour questioned.
"Just asking," Sora said.
"But I did see some suspicious looking people inside the cave just a little while before I was attacked by the Zubat. They said they were searching for Pokémon fossils inside.
"Pokémon fossils?" Sora asked.
"You mean, remains of prehistoric Pokémon?" Kairi asked.
"Pika?" Pikachu asked.
"Vee?" Angel asked.
"Yes. They went deeper inside," Seymour said. "I didn't know what I did to provoke them, but they attacked me, and I ran out of this cave, and that's when you arrived."
"It's a good thing we did," Sora said.
"We'll head in and see what we can find out," Kairi said.
"Be careful in there. There might be other Pokémon in there besides Zubat that will attack when provoked," Seymour said.
"We're Pokémon Trainers, so we know what we're doing," Sora said.
"Pika, Pika," Pikachu said.
"What he said," Kairi said.
"Eevee, vee," Angel said.
Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel entered inside of Mount Moon, unaware of the Team Rocket trio watching them from their binoculars.
"There they are," James said.
"Found them at last," Jessie said.
"Now to put: Operation Snatch Pikachu into effect," Meowth said.
With that said, the Team Rocket members entered the cave and followed them in.
Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel walked inside the cave in the mountain, and saw it was like the surface of the moon itself.
"No wonder it's called Mount Moon," Sora said.
"I think we should stay together. It looks easy enough to get lost if we wonder off," Kairi said.
"Good idea. And it's going to be bad if there are Heartless in here other than Zubat," Sora said. Kairi nodded in agreement and held him by the arm.
"Sorry if I'm doing this, Sora," Kairi said.
"Not a problem, Kairi. Let's go," Sora said.
With that said, they stepped forward. And looked around. They didn't see any signs of the Heartless; hopefully they won't see any, and that is a BIG IF.
A few minutes later, Team Rocket enters the cave, pursuing them.
"Come out, come out, wherever you are," Jessie said.
"They must have gotten further in by now," James said.
"Then, let's stop wasting time and follow them in," Meowth said.
"Pikachu is as good as ours," Jessie said.
"I just hope we don't run into those things like before," James said.
"Why are you thinking about them?" Jessie asked.
"You'll never know, right?" James asked.
"That's what we have these for!" Jessie said, holding up her Pokéball. "Now, shut up, and keep going!"
"Jess is right. Those freaky things won't know what hits em!" Meowth said.
"And we won't run from them like the last time," James said.
Further inside the cave over to Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel, they kept on going, and then they heard something. Sora summoned his Keyblade in case it's the Heartless again. He looked around for them. Unfortunately, he was right because bat-like Heartless appeared suddenly. Their bodies are small and oval-shaped, with short ears sprouting out of the top of its head. Its eyes are small and glow yellow and its Heartless emblem is on its chest. Its mouth is jagged, and its large wings are attached to either of its sides, each sporting a silver spike close to the Heartless's head. The Heartless's bodies are blue, except for the tips of its ears and wings, which are navy blue. A short, silver chain connects the Heartless's body to a large, red hook with a yellow base. These Heartless are Hook Bat.
"I knew it! Heartless!" Sora exclaimed. The Heartless flew towards Sora, so he swung at them. Sora misses them. They came at him again, and they attacked with ultrasonic waves. Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel covered their ears. "I'm going to guess they must be the reason the Zubat attacked Seymour!"
"That would make sense. They must have attacked because they were scared," Kairi said.
"You would be so right!" Sora said. Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it. "Pidgey! Go!" Pidgey emerged from inside. Pidgey flapped his wings. "Use Air Cutter on them!" Pidgey attacked with Air Cutter. The Hook Bats dodged and attacked with their hooks. Pidgey is struck hard. Some of them were about to finish him off when Pikachu attacked with Thunder Shock. He managed to destroy the attacking Heartless, so hearts float up in the air. Pidgey gets back up and then started to let out a loud cry. It echoed throughout the cave as he started to evolve. Pidgey became a bird Pokémon that resembles a small hawk and is brightly colored with red and yellow feathers. "Pidgeotto!" Sora took out his Pokédex and scanned him.

The evolved form of Pidgey
Type: Normal/Flying
This Pokémon is full of vitality. It constantly flies around its large territory in search of prey.
"Pidgeotto! Use Gust!" Sora ordered. Pidgeotto blew Gust, blowing the Hook Bats back. Sora tried to hit them, but missed again. He remembered his magic, so he held his Keyblade up. "Gather!" A vortex appeared and captured all of the bat Heartless in it. "Pikachu! Thunder Shock! Pidgeotto! Use Air Cutter!" Pikachu and Pidgeotto unleashed their chosen attacks. Pidgeotto's Air Cutter came out much stronger due to his evolution, so the Pokémon successfully destroyed the Heartless. "That was close." He turned to Kairi. "Are you okay, Kairi?"
"I am. Thanks to you," Kairi said.
"Yeah, but it was Pikachu and Pidgeotto who finished the job," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu nodded with agreement. Pidgeotto also nodded with agreement.
"Now, let's keep moving just in case more turn up," Sora said.
"I'm right with you," Kairi agreed. They kept going. Unknown to them, they were being watched by a small, pink Pokémon with a star-shaped appearance. Its ears are completely brown. It has two small black eyes, a small mouth, and it appears to have a small, permanent blush on its cheeks. It possesses stubby, digitless arms and legs, which come to a point. It has a curl on its forehead and a curled up tail. Its ears are large, pointy, and dark. This Pokémon is known as Cleffa. Cleffa started to follow them.
Team Rocket came running in the same direction.
"The noise came from here!" Meowth said.
"But no signs of the twerps," Jessie said. She growled in frustration. "Why won't those stupid brats stay still and let us steal from them?!"
"Like they're ever going to make it easy for us," James said.
"Let's keep going before the trail gets cold!" Meowth said.
Team Rocket continued onwards in pursuit of Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel.
Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel continued to walk when they heard the sound of digging.
"I think someone is in here with us," Kairi said.
"I think you're right," Sora said. They stepped forward and saw one of the Team Rocket grunts digging with a shovel. They saw the letter on his uniform. "Hey, you!" The grunt stopped and spotted them. "Who are you?!"
"I need no introduction! I'm Team Rocket! We're Pokémon bandits! We strike fear with our strength!" The male grunt said.
"Team Rocket? You mean like the two with the talking Meowth?" Kairi asked.
"So, you met them? I can bet they ran away after being beaten. Those pathetic weaklings aren't even worth my time!" The male Team Rocket grunt said.
"Sounds like you don't even like each other! Also, I know about you! You steal Pokémon from other Trainers!" Sora said.
"Yeah, and what about it?" The male Team Rocket grunt said.
"How could you do something so awful! Have you no shame for your actions?" Kairi asked.
"Puh-lease, cry me a river," the male Team Rocket grunt said.
"I really don't care if you like each other or not, because if anyone uses Pokémon to do bad things, is an enemy to all Pokémon and Pokémon Trainers?" Sora said.
"Pika!" Pikachu said.
"It looks like I will teach you some manners!" The male Team Rocket grunt said, taking out two Pokéballs and threw them. "Go! Rattata!" His Pokéball opened and two Rattata emerged from inside. Sora and Kairi each took out a Pokéball and threw them.
"Go! Butterfree!" Sora called out.
"Go right in, Igglybuff!" Kairi called out.
Both Pokémon emerged from their Pokéballs and waited for instructions from their Trainers.
"Rattata! Use Quick Attack!" The male Team Rocket grunt ordered. The two Rattata ran towards their opponents with their speed attack.
"Butterfree! Dodge and use Tackle!" Sora ordered.
"Igglybuff! Dodge and use Pound!" Kairi ordered.
Both Pokémon dodged as the two Mouse Pokémon ran towards them. Butterfree tackled into one as Igglybuff pounds the other one.
"Rattata! Use Iron Tail on that Igglybuff!" The male Team Rocket grunt ordered. Both Rattata had their tails while glowing white and they smacked Igglybuff hard.
"Igglybuff!" Kairi gasped.
"Butterfree! Use Confusion!" Sora ordered. Butterfree lifts up both Rattata and sends them flying. They smacked into the grunt. He growled as he called back his two Rattata.
"I won't forget this!" The male grunt said, running off.
"Thanks for the assist, Sora!" Kairi said.
"Anytime, Kairi," Sora said. "We make a really good team."
"We sure do," Kairi agreed.
They went down even further. Sora then tripped over something. He turned to see a Geodude. It emerged from the ground.
"A Geodude!" Sora exclaimed. Geodude charges at Sora. Pikachu jumped and swings with Iron Tail, landing a hit. Geodude then rolls right at Pikachu and lands a hit.
"That was Rollout!" Kairi said. "Sora, Rollout gets stronger from every time it lands a hit!"
"Got it! Pikachu Dodge with Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Pikachu dodges Geodude's next Rollout with Quick Attack. "Use Iron Tail!" Pikachu jumped and lands a hit with another Iron Tail. Geodude lands on the ground. Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it. Geodude flowed inside and the Pokéball wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. Sora's Pokémon Box goes off asking him if he wants to keep Geodude with him. He chose to send Geodude to Professor Oak's lab.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"Thanks for the save, buddy," Sora said. He took out an Oran Berry and gave it to Pikachu. "Eat this." Pikachu ate it and healed from his previous injuries.
"Pika!" Pikachu said.
"Glad you're feeling much better," Sora said.
"Eevee!" Angel said, coming to Pikachu. Pikachu blushed heavily. Pikachu and Angel's ears perked up and they heard something.
"What's wrong, Angel?" Kairi asked.
"Vee!" Angel said, pointed to the coming figure. They feared it was another Heartless, but it turns out to be Cleffa. Kairi's heart sank when she saw the little Pokémon.
"Oh, wow! A Cleffa! So cute!" Kairi cooed. She took out her Pokédex and scanned it.
Cleffa, the Star Shape Pokémon
Type: Fairy
It is believed Cleffa came riding in shooting stars. Numerous Cleffa can be seen during metoer showers.
"Oh, she's so cute, I want her!" Kairi said, taking out a Pokéball and threw it at Cleffa, making her flow inside. The Pokéball wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. "And I have myself an adorable Cleffa!"
"Eevee, vee!" Angel added.
"That was a good catch, Kairi," Sora said.
"Thank you, Sora," Kairi said.
"Hey, what are you doing there?!" A male voice shouted.
They turned to see the other male Team Rocket grunt.
"Sora, he's from Team Rocket!" Kairi said.
"Great, this we don't need," Sora said.
"Hey, you were the kids I was warned about! I'll fix you!" The male Team Rocket grunt said as he took out a Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Drowzee!" The Pokéball opened to reveal a tapir-like Pokémon that is mostly yellow. The bottom half of its body is covered in mud, as if it was bathing in it. Sora took out his Pokédex and scanned it.
Drowzee, the Hypnosis Pokémon
Type: Psychic
It can tell what people are dreaming by sniffing with its big nose. It loves fun dreams.
Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Butterfree!" Sora called out. Butterfree flutters out.
"Drowzee! Use Poison Gas!" The male Team Rocket grunt ordered. Drowzee spewed opens its mouth and releases a thick dark green gas from its mouth at Butterfree.
"Use Gust!" Sora ordered. Butterfree flapped his wings and blew the gas away.
"Drowzee! Use Headbutt!" The male Team Rocket grunt ordered. Drowzee ran towards Butterfree and headbutts Butterfree. "Use Hypnosis!" Drowzee's eyes starts to glow blue. Butterfree then fell right to sleep. "Drowzee! Use Headbutt!" Drowzee headbutts the Butterfly Pokémon again. "Use Pound!" Drowzee lands a hit. This wakes up Butterfree.
"Good you're awake!" Sora said. "Use Sleep Powder!" Butterfree releases a blue, sparkling powder from his wings. Any Drowzee instantly fell asleep. "Use Tackle! Butterfree charged at Drowzee. The male Team Rocket grunt growled.
"You'll pay for this insult you gave Team Rocket!" The male Team Rocket grunt said. He ran off.
"Hey!" Sora yelled after him, but Kairi took him by the shoulder.
"Let him go, Sora. He's not worth it," Kairi said. Sora had to agree, and they had to keep going. As they kept going, they kept their eyes opened for anything coming at them. They stopped when they saw a Pokémon that resembles a cross between a cicada nymph and a crab. It has an orange shell-like exterior. Its two front legs are very large. The most distinct feature are the two mushrooms on its back. It also has very large eyes on the top of its head. "Hey, a Paras!" Sora took out his Pokédex and scanned it.
Paras, the Mushroom Pokémon
Type: Bug/Grass
The mushrooms growing on Paras's back is known as the tochukaso. The tochukaso are known to be used to make medicine. They grow by drawing nutrients from its back.
"A Bug-type and a Grass-type. Such a cool combo," Sora said. Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it. "Zubat! Go!" The Pokéball opened as Zubat emerged from inside. "Use Wing Attack!" Zubat flew at Paras, hitting it. Paras got back up and shakes its mushrooms. A sparkling orange powder comes from the mushrooms.
"Sora, he's using Stun Spore!" Kairi gasped.
"Zubat! Dodge it and use Supersonic!" Sora ordered. Zubat dodges and release a soundwave from his mouth. Paras is mow confused. Paras came tried to come at Zubat with Scratch, but he ends up hurting himself. Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it. Paras flows inside and the Pokéball wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. Sora's Pokémon Box goes off asking him if he wants to keep Paras with him. He chose to send Paras to Professor Oak's lab. "Good work, Zubat." He took out his Pokéball. "Take a rest and I'll use you again if I need you." He called Zubat back inside.
Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel continued forward, unaware of Jessie, James, and Meowth still following them.
Meanwhile, up ahead, the female Team Rocket grunt growled.
"You were both defeated by two brats?" The female Team Rocket grunt asked.
"Yeah, they beat us good," the male Team Rocket grunt said.
"And they'll be heading your way," the second male Team Rocket grunt said.
"Don't worry, boys. I'll deal with them when I see them. In the meantime, you two wait for me outside," the female Team Rocket grunt said.
Back with Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel, they came face-to-face with an Onix that emerged from underground and attacked as Onix fires a light blue beam of energy from its mouth at them. They dodged.
"He just used Dragon Breath!" Kairi said.
"That Onix is just as strong as Brock's Onix, and the only way to get pass him is to battle and catch him," Sora said. Onix unleashed Rock Throw at them. "Pikachu! Use Quick Attack to dodge!" Pikachu dashes around to dodge the falling rocks. "Use Iron Tail!" Pikachu jumped and swung his tail. The attack strikes Onix on the spot. Onix fires another Dragon Breath at Pikachu, landing another hit. Onix then heads for Pikachu to grab him. Onix grabs Pikachu and squeezes. As Onix start squeezing, Onix sets off static electricity, and it goes right on Onix. After a few squeezes, Onix puts Pikachu down. Onix then uses Rock Throw, but he quickly notices how sluggish he was moving. Sora figured out why. He saw static electricity emitting from Onix's body. "Onix is paralyzed! Pikachu! One more Iron Tail!" Pikachu jumped and uses one more Iron Tail. Onix attempts to block it with a Tackle, but Pikachu successfully lands a hit. Onix was taken down. Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it. Onix flows inside and the Pokéball wobbles around and around very violently. Sora figured Onix wasn't going to stay in that easily. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. Sora's Pokémon Box goes off asking him if he wants to keep Onix with him. He chose to send Onix to Professor Oak's lab. "Now only I got my own Geodude, but I got my own Onix as well. Now that rocks!" That made Kairi giggle as they kept going.
A little after catching Onix, they came across another Pokémon in their path. They saw a small, round Pokémon. It has small, stubby limbs and a pink egg-shaped body, with a light red pouch covering its bottom half. It has an egg-shaped object in the same pouch. Its face is simplistic, with small black eyes, white pupils, and pink "blush" marks. There are also three round tufts of hair on the Pokémon's head, along with a pink stone-shaped object that keeps the rest of its hair in a curly pigtail. Kairi took out her Pokédex and scanned it.
Happiny, the Playhouse Pokémon
Type: Normal
In imitation of Chansey, it keeps a round stone tucked into its belly pouch and cherishes it dearly. It gets along well with children and will sometimes play house with them for fun.
"Oh, how cute!" Kairi cooed! Kairi, putting her Pokédex away. She took out a Pokéball and threw it. Happiny flowed inside and it wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. "I just couldn't help myself."
"That's okay, Kairi. Now you have six in your team," Sora said. That made Kairi smile. "Now, let's keep going before we bump into any other Heartless or anyone from Team Rocket. I wanna see them before they see us." Kairi understood and nodded.
Over to the female Team Rocket grunt, she waits for Sora and Kairi to come her way. As she waits. She didn't wait long as she saw Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel come running. They stopped when they saw her.
"I figured you'd make your way here. The other two told me about how you beaten them, and I'm going to exact my revenge for that," the female Team Rocket grunt said.
"Whatever plan you got cooking up, just know we'll stop you," Sora said.
"You're more than welcome to try, brat," the female Team Rocket grunt said. Sora was about to step in, but Kairi did that instead.
"Let me handle her, Sora," Kairi said.
"You sure you wanna take me on your own?" The female Team Rocket grunt asked.
"I know I can take you on! Using Pokémon to commit crimes is unforgivable in my book, and I won't let you get away with it!" Kairi said.
"Team Rocket never lets anyone stand in Team Rocket's way! It doesn't matter if it's a man, woman, or brat," the female Team Rocket grunt said, taking out a Pokéball. "Zubat! Go!" Her Pokéball opened and a Zubat flutters out. Kairi turned right to Angel who nods to her. She nods back.
"Angel! Go!" Kairi said. Angel stepped right in to battle the female Team Rocket grunt.
"Zubat! Use Bite, now!" The female Team Rocket grunt ordered. Zubat flew right at the female Eevee with Bite.
"Angel! Dodge and use Tackle!" Kairi ordered. Angel dodges Zubat's attack and tackled the Bat Pokémon.
"How dare you!" The female Team Rocket grunt growled. "Zubat! Use Confuse Ray!" Zubat fires a brown-gold ball of energy from its mouth and heads for Angel. It goes around her before it explodes. Angel ends up being dizzy.
"Angel!" Kairi gasped.
"Zubat! Use Bite!" The female Team Rocket grunt ordered. Zubat flew towards Angel and lands a bite. Angel cries in pain.
"Angel, you have got to snap out of it!" Kairi said. Angel stumbles around in her dizziness. "Angel! Use Quick Attack!" Angel manages to run and land a hit with Quick Attack.
"Zubat! Use Steel Wing!" The female Team Rocket grunt ordered. Zubat's wings glow blue and white and it hits Angel with them. "Another Steel Wing!" Zubat flew right at Angel with another Steel Wing.
"Angel!" Kairi called out. Angel snapped out of her confusion and jumped backwards. Kairi smiled, feeling relieved that Angel is unhurt. "Angel." Angel then opened her mouth and fires multiple yellow stars from in front of her mouth. The stars heads towards Zubat, and lands a hit. "Angel, you just learned how to use Swift!"
"Eevee, vee!" Angel said.
"Angel! Use Tackle!" Kairi ordered. Angel ran towards Zubat and lands a hit, sending the Bat Pokémon against a rock and slides downward. She called Zubat back.
"You win this round, but Team Rocket will have revenge!" The female Team Rocket grunt vowed. "So watch out!" She takes off running.
"Count on it," Kairi said.
"That was awesome, Kairi!" Sora praised Kairi.
"Pika, Pika!" Pikachu added.
"Thank you, Sora. I have to admit, I sort of had my doubts," Kairi said.
"You still came through, Kairi. We drove out those Team Rocket goons out of here!" Sora said.
"Who are you calling goons?" A familiar female voice asked. Sora and Kairi knew who they were.
"Oh no, not these clowns again," Sora groaned in annoyance.
"Prepare for trouble!"
"Make it double!"
"To protect the world from devastation!"
"To unite all peoples within our nation!"
"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"
"To extend our reach to the stars above!"
"Jessie!"
"James!"
"Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light!"
"Surrender now or prepare to fight!"
"Meowth! That's right!"
"Haven't you guys learned your lesson back in Viridian Forest? We whooped you the second time!" Sora said.
"He's right. We already took down three of your friends," Kairi said.
"Pika!" Pikachu said.
"Eevee!" Angel added.
"We're very persistent," Meowth said.
"Persistent and annoying," Sora said. "I'm going to say this again, if you want a Pikachu, go find another one and get lost!"
"You're the ones that are lost if you think we're going to quit just like that," James said.
"So, just be cooperative little brats and hand over Pikachu!" Jessie said.
"Forget it!" Sora said.
"Then we'll just take Pikachu! Ekans! Go!" Jessie shouted.
"Go! Koffing!" James called out.
The Pokéballs opened and Ekans and Koffing emerged from inside. Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Pidgeotto!" Sora called out.
"Koffing! Use Smog!" James ordered. Koffing unleashes, thick black smoke.
"Use Gust!" Sora ordered. Pidgeotto blew the smoke away with Gust. They started coughing their lungs out. "Kairi, quick while they're coughing!" Sora whispered as he took her by the hand. Kairi nodded and ran off with him.
"Some plan, James!" Jessie said as she coughed.
"It seems like a good idea, Jessie," James said in his defense.
"As soon as the smoke clears, we're going after them!" Jessie said.
"Just hope nothing else goes wrong," Meowth said. Just then, a hoard of Onix emerged. They smacked Team Rocket in the opposite direction Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel have gone.
"TEAM ROCKET IS BLASTING OFF AGAIN!" Team Rocket shouted as they flew through the cave.
Over to Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel, they made a stop to take a breath from all the running they did.
"How far behind are they?" Kairi asked as she panted.
"I have to guess pretty far," Sora said. "At least their out of our hair for now."
"That's good," Kairi said. She spots something in the ground. "Look, Sora." He turned and saw what she was pointing at. Sora was awestruck. One fossil is a dome. The other fossil is a helix.
"Hey, Pokémon fossils!" Sora said. "Those Team Rocket guys have been after these. What do you think? Think we should take these with us?"
"We might as well. We don't want to think what might happen if they fell in the wrong hands," Kairi said.
"Which one do you want?" Sora asked. Kairi thought for a moment.
"I think I'll take this one," Kairi pointed to the Helix Fossil. Sora hands her the Helix Fossil.
"Then this one is good as mine," Sora said.
With that said, they placed their fossils in their backpacks and headed out to the outside. When they reached outside, they saw that the sun was setting.
"The sun's setting, Sora," Kairi said.
"Then we will have to make camp tonight if we wanna see the metoer shower," Sora said.
It didn't take them long to get settled and they got just in time as night filled the sky.
"I'm so excited to see the metoer shower with my own eyes, Sora," Kairi said.
"Me too, Kairi. I can hardly contain myself," Sora said.
The metoer shower started and they watched with awe. Not too long, several Cleffa, and two other Pokémon appeared.
One's a bipedal, pink Pokémon with a chubby, vaguely star-shaped body. A small, pointed tooth protrudes from the upper left corner of its mouth. It has wrinkles beside its black, oval eyes, a single dark pink oval marking on each cheek, and large, pointed ears with brown tips. A tuft of fur curls over its forehead, much like its large, upward-curling tail. Each stocky arm has two small claws and a thumb on each hand and both feet have a single toenail. There is a pair of tiny, butterfly-shaped wings on its back. This Pokémon is Clefairy.
The other a larger version of Clefairy but it had bigger ears and tail, larger wings, and no claws on its hands. This Pokémon is Clefable. They watched the Pokémon dance around in the meteor shower.
"Look at that. It's a good thing we made a stop here," Kairi said.
"It sure was," Sora said. He and Kairi each took out their Pokédexes and scanned the Clefairy and Clefable.

Their ears are sensitive enough to hear a pin drop from over a mile away, so they're usually found in quiet places.
They each put their Pokédexes and they held hands. Sora and Kairi kept holding as Pikachu and Angel held paws, watching the Cleffa, Clefairy, and Clefable dancing. This was a sight they were glad to share with each other.
In my original story, I didn't give Sora Geodude nor Onix, but I did in this fic, so I figured it works. Anyway, I am looking forward in seeing Pokémon Scarlet and Violet coming out this November, so I'm hoping maybe, they could be more Pokémon coming in than we have been getting in the previous generations. Also, I hope we have new Pokémon types, and possibly and hopefully, new evolutions for Eevee (not getting my hopes up on that). Also, I might update the Pokémon count in the first chapter as soon as it's released, so until then, keep your fingers cross.
