A/N: Thank you for the reviews/follows/favorites. I had some readers/reviewers from Chapter 1 say they are glad I'm still writing for Liason. I have always loved Liason and writing for that couple. As long as you continue to faithfully read/review my Liason stories, I will gladly continue to write for our favorite couple. I forgot to mention this in chapter 2, so I'm doing so now.

Chapter 4
***The Next Day***
(Elizabeth is at the counter at Kelly's ordering lunch as it's her lunch break. She doesn't see Jason coming up behind her)
Liz: (chuckles) "I didn't see you there. You like scaring people, don't you, Morgan?"
Jason: (laughs) "Only when it's you. You know, Webber, you get scared easily, don't you?"
Liz: (smirks) "Not really, but you have that effect on me. What are you doing here? And you know my last name is Baldwin."
Jason: "Just getting a coffee to go. You? And yes, I know. But, I'm so used to calling you 'Webber'."
Liz: "I'm on my lunch break and I enjoy their food."
Jason: (shrugs) "While you're waiting for your food, want to talk for a few minutes?"
Liz: (nods & smiles) "Sure."
(They take a seat at a table in the middle of the small café)
Liz: "Cameron, Jake, and Aiden said how much fun they had at Monica's."
Jason: "Danny always has fun there."
Liz: (raises her eyebrows) "I noticed Sam wasn't the most pleasant at the mansion." (tilts her head sympathetically) "Is everything okay?"
(Jason can't help the dry chuckle from escaping his mouth as he spoke)
Jason: "Is it that obvious?"
(Elizabeth felt bad for her friend. She is saddened and rests her hand over his that was on the table)
Liz: "I'm worried about you. Do you want to talk? I'm always here if you need to vent."
Jason: (surprised) "To be honest, I'm amazed you offered because I know Sam isn't your favorite person."
Liz: (sighs deeply) "I will admit that I don't care for her. But, I don't hate her. Besides, I'm here for YOU, not Sam." (shakes her head) "It's no secret that Sam and I never liked each other. However, I would never speak negatively towards Sam near the kids. I would try to speak positively about her to you." (smirks) "I can't guarantee it, though."
(Jason laughs in response at her carefree attitude)
Jason: (shakes his head) "One thing I like about you is not only your honesty but your sassiness as you tell it like it is whether I agree with you or not. However, I've always respected your thoughts."
Liz: (nods) "You know that goes both ways, Morgan. I've always appreciated your honesty. You've also always cared for me even when I probably didn't deserve it."
(Elizabeth looks down a bit in regret at her last sentence. Jason tilts his head and smiles sweetly as he spoke)
Jason: "Elizabeth, no matter what happens in life, I'll always be here for you and I'll always care about you. That will never change. You are not only the mother of my kids...but my special friend."
Liz: (nods) "I know that Aiden and Cameron aren't yours biologically. You've always treated them like they are and I want you to know I appreciate that."
Jason: (serious tone) "I want to make something clear, Elizabeth."
(He gently massages her hand as he spoke)
Jason: "I don't give a shit who says otherwise. Cameron and Aiden are just as much my kids, just like Jake. Biology doesn't mean anything to me."
(Elizabeth can't help but get teary eyed at her friend. If it was even possible, she appreciated his honesty and tenderness that much more)
Liz: "I think you've always felt that way. To hear you say it with such intensity just now?" (nods) "I truly believe it."
Jason: (nods) "Good because it's the truth."
(The waitress gives him his coffee and Elizabeth her lunch. While they drink and eat, they engage in small talk)
(Meanwhile, Alexis hears banging at her front door. After answering it, she sees Sam rushing in with a frustrated tone)
Alexis: (polite smile) "Come right in, honey."
(As Sam speaks, she huffs in anger)
Sam: "You know, I'm REALLY getting sick of her holier than thou attitude!"
(Alexis shuts the door and grows confused on who Sam is talking about. As she walks to Sam, she speaks)
Alexis: "Okay, you're going to have to clarify who you're talking about."
(Sam turns around and shouts at the top of her lungs with her hands to her sides)
Sam: "Elizabeth! It seems like no matter what Lizzie says or does, Jason doesn't judge her."
(Sam briefly points at herself)
Sam: (chuckles dryly) "Yet I get judged all the time!"
(Alexis raises one eyebrow in response as she speaks)
Alexis: "Are you sure about that?"
(Sam turns her head slightly in puzzlement)
Sam: "What do you mean?"
Alexis: "Even though you don't want to hear it, Elizabeth does get judged by others." (sighs) "Sam, you need to accept the fact that Elizabeth will always be in Jason's life. Not only because of the kids, but because they've been friends for years. It's just the way it is."
(Sam shakes her head in protest and speaks in a low tone)
Sam: "Not if I have anything to say about it."
