A/N: Trini12180: in Chapter 3 I believe, you asked what Sam did to be in jail. My apologies on the delay of the response. Her parole officer will be in the story later but only for a few chapters. Here is what happened if I remember correctly. In Fall 2019, Shiloh was trying to rape Sam, Jason arrived and shot him and Shiloh was dead. On October 14, 2019, Sam was arrested and framed for Shiloh's murder. At the end of 2019, Sam was convicted of involuntary manslaughter, and then released on parole. Sam may have to face the facts regarding the restrictions of her parole from Pentonville. Sam had previously been sentenced to two years in prison for killing Shiloh Archer, but she was released early and was desperate to get home to her kids, and her hopes were realized with a Christmas release. But Sam's bubble quickly burst after she met with her parole officer (Delores) for the first time. One of the conditions of her parole was that she can't see Jason Morgan, who is a convicted felon. Hope that answers your question. More will be revealed with this as the story goes.

Title: Rewrite the Stars
Chapter 6
(At GH, Elizabeth and Sam go to the waiting area where no one is around. They sit down and get comfortable before Elizabeth breaks the silence)
Liz: (shrugs) "So, what do you want?"
(Sam rests her hands in her pockets before speaking)
Sam: (sighs) "It's not easy for me to say because, let's be honest, we've never gotten along."
Liz: (scoffs) "That's an understatement."
Sam: "I want to apologize for my actions lately and the way I've been with you and your boys. Then again, not just recently, but for a long time. I admit..." (sighs) "...That I blame a lot of stuff on you and I know I shouldn't."
(Elizabeth couldn't help but observe Sam as she spoke. Was Sam being sincere or lying through her teeth? Truthfully, it could go both ways. Elizabeth listened as Sam continued)
Sam: "I know my actions won't change overnight. I'm willing to let go of the past if you are."
(Elizabeth raises one eyebrow as she still wasn't 100% sure Sam was telling the truth. Elizabeth thought about the request and spoke)
Liz: "I'm willing to try. However, I can't help but wonder what brought this on. Who spoke to you about this?"
(Sam couldn't help but get confused at Elizabeth's questions)
Liz: (chuckles) "Sam, I've known you long enough. I know someone or something must have brought this on. No offense, Sam, but you were like a spitfire before."
Sam: (sighs deeply) "Okay, between mom and Jason, I knew I needed to change my ways." (scoffs) "I will admit I don't like to be called out on things. However, I have to admit that I'm in the wrong."
(Elizabeth can't help but wonder if there's an agenda where Sam is concerned. This is the same Sam who blows up if she doesn't get her way. Elizabeth wanted to give her enemy the benefit of the doubt. She just wasn't sure if she could believe Sam. Sam was right. The two ladies have never really gotten along. However, if there was a chance Sam has changed, Elizabeth would feel bad if she didn't try. Elizabeth sighs deeply before speaking)
Liz: (nods) "Okay, Sam, I'll try for everyone's sake to put the past behind us. Let's see how it goes."
(Sam nods and walks away)
(Meanwhile, Jason reports to work at Sonny's office. Sonny is sitting in his desk chair while Jason is standing across from him)
Sonny: "How are things going?"
Jason: (nods) "I saw my kids earlier. It went well." (rolls his eyes) "I can't stand Franco. Elizabeth seems to love him for some reason, so I have to respect it. I don't have a choice."
(Sonny shakes his head in frustration as he spoke)
Sonny: "I can't stand the fucker, either and I've made it known to Carly and everyone else. Carly doesn't like him, either."
Jason: "To be honest, I don't think having the tumor removed changed him at all."
(Sonny decided to change the subject)
Sonny: "How are you and Sam doing?"
(Jason sighs deeply in frustration, looking at the ceiling briefly as he pinches his nose, causing Sonny to face his sidekick in concern)
Sonny: "What's wrong, Jason? Talk to me."
Jason: "I love Sam. Hell, we've been together for many years. Yeah, we've had our ups and downs. Who hasn't? But lately? It's...It's like Sam has changed. Like she gets mad over things that she knows she's in the wrong on."
Sonny: "I know you love Sam, Jayse. My advice to you? Work things out if you can."
Jason: "I do love Sam. Do I agree with some of her choices? No. But, I know she doesn't like some of mine."
Sonny: (shrugs) "Any choices in particular?"
Jason: "I'll always care about Elizabeth. That will never change. She's the mother of my kids aside from the son I share with Sam. Elizabeth and I also have a long history. I'm not going to deny that. I also won't apologize for it. Some of it is good, some of it is bad. But, I trust her with my life. There's never been a time when I didn't trust her."
(Sonny gets up from his chair, walks around his desk and stands in front of his partner. He tilts his head and smiles a bit)
Sonny: "I have a question for you, Jayse. I want you to answer it honestly."
Jason: "Okay, what is your question?"
Sonny: "Who do you trust more? Sam or Elizabeth? If the situation called for it, who would you turn to?"
(Jason stares at Sonny for what felt like hours. Afterwards, he turns away. Jason didn't answer. In his heart, though, he already knew without saying a word)
