Title: Rewrite the Stars

Chapter 7

***The Next Day***

(Sam and Franco meet up)

Franco: "What do you want, McCall?"

Sam: "I want to make sure our secret will stay just that...a secret."

Franco: (rolls his eyes) "Again? We already talked about this."

Sam: (nods) "And we're going to talk about it again. What we did years ago can never happen again."

Franco: (raises his eyebrows) "You mean when we had sex and Jason doesn't know about it?"

Sam: "It only happened once."

Franco: (scoffs) "Is that what you're telling yourself these days? You know damn well it happened more than once. You wish it only happened once, but you snuck behind Jason's back multiple times to be with me. Why? Being you and I can't stand each other? Whether it'd be hate sex or because he didn't give you what you wanted. I don't know your reasoning. I don't care about your reasoning."

(Sam waves her hands in front of her as she shakes her head before speaking)

Sam: "Whatever. It's over and done with...for good. We know better now."

Franco: (snorts) "Damn right it's over. I love Elizabeth and her boys. However, Jason believes that I possibly raped you based on that covered camera."

Sam: (rolls her eyes) "I know that you'd never rape me. Did I like the fact that you drugged me that night? No. But that's the past."

****Flashback***

***The Next Night***

(The tension thick within the house as they come to terms with the events the night before, Jason tries to be there for Sam, feeling guilty for her being put in such a horrible position. More than anything, he wanted to keep her safe, to give her back the safety she possessed before Franco shattered it in one fell swoop. He must have hovered too much because Sam felt the need to walk the beach alone and he didn't blame her for that. With a gentle kiss, Jason gives her the space she needs to sort through what happened while internally worrying for her the rest of the night. If only he knew how Sam was occupying her time, maybe he wouldn't have worried so much. Had he known that she would occupy herself with the very man that took advantage of her, the demented Franco, maybe he wouldn't have been so quick to feel guilty)

***End of Flashback***

Franco: (snorts) "If Jason only knew what we really did that night."

Sam: (raises her eyebrows) "You mean when I cheated on Jason and slept with you? That we possibly created a life together without using protection? Jason can never know what we really did."

Franco: (serious tone) "Neither can Elizabeth. If she knew that Danny was possibly my son and I didn't tell her, she'd never forgive me."

(Meanwhile, Jason wanders the pier alone, pondering his thoughts. He didn't verbally answer Sonny's question on who he trusts more as he honestly couldn't say it out loud. He did know the answer, though. If he was completely honest with himself, he's always known the answer. He just didn't want to admit it out loud because then he couldn't take it back. To be honest, though, he didn't want to take it back)

(Ever since the first time he met her, he trusted her. When he was shot at and, in the snow, she rescued him and nursed him back to health. She's kept every secret of his, no questions asked. He's always had complete faith in her and he knew that she trusted him with her life and their kids' lives)

(Jason couldn't help but allow a smile to form as he thought of the woman he didn't realize was always in his heart. Even when he was with other women and thought his heart belonged to them, it always went back to that special person. He knew he'd have to admit it sooner or later, but he wasn't ready to say it out loud to anyone. But, at least, he could admit it to himself. He was, and always has been, in love with Elizabeth Webber)

(His thoughts are dashed when he heard someone talking to him)

Woman: "Jason, are you okay?"

(Jason quickly shakes his head and briefly closes his eyes to escape his thoughts as he sees who spoke to him... Elizabeth)
