Title: Rewrite the Stars
Chapter 9
(Sam was in the living room of her apartment walking a bit panicky. She honestly thought that she had everyone fooled. Well, apparently not Carly. Sam decided that Carly would need to be dealt with, but how? Even though Elizabeth had her doubts, Sam wasn't worried. Sam just hated that the bitch spent so much time with her man. Ugh! Elizabeth had her own husband! Sam decided that she needed to talk to Franco about his wife and who she hung out with. Sam knew that Franco didn't like Jason and the feeling was mutual. Sam would make sure Franco kept Elizabeth away from Jason)
(Sam gets out her cell phone from the back pocket of her jeans and dials a number. The person on the other line answers)
Person: (annoyed tone) "What do you want?"
Sam: (scoffs) "Nice to talk to you, too."
Person: "YOU called ME, remember?"
Sam: (sighs) "Franco, are you alone?"
Franco: (rolls his eyes) "Would it matter to you if I wasn't? You know, Sam, this is really getting old." (annoyed) "Why do you have to call so much, anyway? How much communication are we supposed to have? Do you want to get caught talking to me when you pretty much told the whole damn town that you can't stand me?"
Sam: "Listen, you need to control your fucking wife because she and Jason have been spending WAY too much time together."
(Franco raises his eyebrows as he speaks in a surprised tone)
Franco: "And how would you know that unless you're spying on them? I wouldn't put it past you if you were."
Sam: (scoffs) "Franco, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out." (warning tone) "You either control your wife or I'll find a way to. It's as simple as that."
Franco: (smirks) "I'm curious how you'd accomplish that when you supposedly told Elizabeth that you've changed?"
Sam: (rolls her eyes) "I'll find a way. I just want Lizzie dealt with."
***In the Park***
(Elizabeth squirms a bit as she walks, causing Jason to tilt his head and nods)
Jason: "Talk to me, Bella."
Liz: (sighs deeply) "Sam came up to me the other day after the end of my shift. She claimed she's trying to change. I admit that I have my doubts because of my history with her."
(Jason walks to her until he's mere inches away from her, looks her in the eyes, and nods)
Jason: "Trust your instincts. They will tell you if Sam is really trying to change."
(Elizabeth rests her fingers on her mouth as if she's thinking and looks around without moving her head before coming to a conclusion)
Liz: "If I'm being completely honest with myself and you, I feel like I am being played."
(Jason folds his arms over his chest as he thinks aloud)
Jason: "I wonder why Sam would lie about trying to change if it wasn't her intention?"
Liz: (raises her eyebrows) "Jason, no offense, but think about it. Sam has NEVER liked our friendship and the fact that you and I have a history together. It also does not help that you and I have a child together."
Jason: (trying to understand) "Yeah, but, Sam and I also have a child together...Danny."
Liz: (shrugs) "Sam has never liked the fact that you and I have a connection through Jake." (sighs) "Jason, I do not hate Sam. I would love to hate her. She can be a bitch when she wants to be. But would I ever want her dead? Oh, God, no. So, I don't understand what her beef is with me. I will always love you. You and I share a history. It's like she can't accept that or won't accept it. I have tried to make peace with her on a number of occasions, but nothing. What more can I do?" (exhales) "I think it's time that I had a talk with Sam and get things straightened out."
(Elizabeth shakes her head in seriousness at Jason)
Liz: "I will NOT be lied to and I knew to trust my instincts on the bitch. It's time that Sam and I get everything out in the open, once and for all."
(Jason knew that Elizabeth was right. However, he knew he had to take care of something first)
Jason: (nods) "I completely understand what you mean. I don't blame you at all for needing to clear the air with Sam. I don't know what is going on with her. It's like something has changed." (sighs) "Before you confront her, I want the chance to talk to clear the air with her first and find out what's going on with her."
(Jason rests his hands on Elizabeth's shoulders and speaks in a compassionate tone)
Jason: "I promise you that you can have your say with Sam. You have every right to. Just please, let me try getting through to her first. I'll talk to her tonight. You can talk to her any time after that."
Liz: (nods) "Okay. I have to go to work anyway. We'll talk later." (raises one eyebrow) "Something tells me she's not going to like your guys' talk."
Jason: (rolls his eyes) "That's going to be an understatement."
(They go their separate ways)
