Episode 13: Electric Shock Showdown!
Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel had finally made it to Vermilion City just after several days. They were dirty from the dirt they went through.
"We made it," Sora said.
"After several days of traveling, we finally made it to Vermilion City," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
Sora, Kairi, and Pikachu got to the Vermillion City Pokémon Center and checked into the Vermilion City Pokémon Center to give the Pokémon proper rest.
"My Pokémon are exhausted, so I was wondering if you would fix them up for me?" Sora asked.
"Of course," Nurse Joy said. "We'll have your Pikachu fixed up."
"And also you related to the Nurse Joy in Cerulean City?" Sora asked the nurse.
"Oh yes," she answered with a smile. "She's my older sister. And I know what you're thinking-" Nurse Joy was cut off by Sora.
"I don't mean to be rude, but we've been this road before, so I know you're all nurses and your names are all Joy," Sora said.
"Of course," Nurse Joy said.
"I would like to have mine checked up, too," Kairi said.
"Of course," Nurse Joy said as a Chansey took a tray and placed Kairi's five Pokéballs on it. "Excuse us, please." She went to the back to prepare to heal the Pokémon of their injuries. After a few minutes, she brought Pikachu, Angel, and the other Pokémon out. "All done."
"Thanks," Sora and Kairi both said.
"Sora, I was wondering if we could have a look at the pier before we go to the Vermillion City Gym, please?" Kairi asked. Sora looked at her and smiled.
"Of course," Sora said. "I did promise to check out the St. Anne when we got here."
Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel arrived at the St. Anne with the sailor standing at the dock.
"Do you two have tickets?" The sailor asked.
"Right here," Sora said, holding one. Kairi held one out as well. The sailor took a look at the tickets.
"These will do," the sailor said. "The ship doesn't take off until the next few hours."
"Okay, aboard we go," Sora said. They entered the cruise ship. Upon entering, they saw Gary aboard. Sora was disdained.
"Well, bonjour, Sora. Long time no see," Gary said.
"Hey, Gary," Sora greeted with a low tone.
"So, how many Gym Badges did you win?" Gary asked.
"Two," Sora said.
"Just two? What did you do? Buy them or steal them?" Gary teased. "And which loser Gym did you start with first?"
"Gary, can't you just say hi and be done with it?" Sora asked.
"Is that him?" Kairi asked.
"Yeah. Gary Oak. He's Daisy's little brother, and Professor Oak's grandson," Sora said. "Gary, I think we'll be on our way, if you don't mind."
"Whatever," Gary scoffed.
A couple of hours passed, so they met up with Ash and Leaf after a while. Sora exchanged Weepinbell and Pidgeotto for Geodude and Onix. They caught up by telling some stories, leaving out the details of the Heartless, since they didn't think they would believe him.
Sora and Kairi were heading into the room they were sharing when they noticed that the captain was feeling very seasick. His face was turning green.
"Are you okay?" Kairi asked.
"I'm fine. Why do you ask?" The captain asked, his cheeks puffed up. Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel rushed to the captain and rushed him to his cabin, and rubbed his back.
"Are you feeling better?" Kairi asked.
"I'm feeling much better, thanks to you, young lady," the captain said. "I don't know how I'll repay you. He thought for a moment. "Wait! I know!" He went to his desk. He pulled out what looks like an azure piece of metal. "I found this metal, and I don't have the slightest idea what it is, so I think you should keep it and use it for whatever you wish."
"Um, okay," Sora said. He looked at the metal and sighed. "Nothing like a good souvenir."
"It's really pretty though," Kairi said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
After helping out the captain, the ship took off. Sora and Kairi had a great time, despite Gary being there. They spent most of their time with Ash and Leaf. They had some Pokémon battles there. Sora thought it would be a good chance to train for his battle with the Gym Leader.
Sora is approached by a girl and challenged him to a battle.
"Okay, one-on-one, right?" The girl asked.
"Sure thing!" Sora said, taking out a Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Geodude!" His Pokéball opened and Geodude floats out.
"Okay, go! Butterfree!" The girl called out. Her Butterfree came out. This Butterfree has a purple stripe on the bottom of each wing, which Sora's Butterfree does not. "Butterfree! Use Psybeam!" Butterfree fires a streaky blue beam with pink, yellow, and white circles inside it from its eyes.
"Dodge and use Tackle!" Sora ordered. Geodude dodged and tackled into Butterfree, causing some heavy damage. "Use Rock Throw!" Geodude hurls rocks right at the Butterfly Pokémon. The rocks strikes Butterfree hard.
"Butterfree! Use Psybeam!" The girl ordered. Butterfree fires another Psybeam at the Rock Pokémon. Geodude goes falling to the ground but gets back up.
"Dodge use Fire Punch!" Sora ordered. One of Geodude's fists becomes surrounded by red-yellow flames and it punches Butterfree with it. It deals some heavy damage and results in a knockout. Sora has won the battle. "Good battle, Geodude! You really rocked!" He and Geodude high-five each other.
Kairi was challenged by a man, wearing a monocle and a tuxedo.
"Here's to a fine battle, young lady," the gentleman said.
"Thanks. You too," Kairi said.
The gentleman took out a Pokéball that is almost entirely black with a gold band around the middle as well as a gold button, and carries rings of red on both halves which themselves are flanked by rings of gold. This Pokéball is known as the Luxury Ball.
"Let us begin then," the man said, throwing it. "Come forth, Growlithe!" The Pokéball opened to reveal a puppy-like Pokémon. It has bright orange fur with black stripes. Its belly, tail, and fluff on top of its head are a cream color.
"A Growlithe," Kairi said, taking out her Pokédex.
Growlithe, the Puppy Pokémon
Type: Fire
Growlithe are very loyal to their masters. They warn invaders to stay away by barking at them. If barking fails, they will attack just by biting them.
"Such a cute Pokémon to have," Kairi said, putting her Pokédex away. Kairi took out a Pokéball and threw it. "Let's go, Igglybuff!" Her Pokéball opened and Igglybuff came out to battle.
"You may have the first move," the gentleman said.
"Thank you. Igglybuff! Use Pound!" Kairi ordered. Igglybuff came right at Growlithe and lands a hit with Pound.
"Growlithe! Use Ember!" The gentleman ordered. Growlithe fired Ember and struck the balloon Pokémon, dealing some damage. "Use Take Down!" Growlithe charged right at Igglybuff with the full force of its body.
"Dodge it!" Kairi called out. Igglybuff dodged just by jumping. "Use Sing!" Igglybuff started to sing, and several multi-colored music notes comes from Igglybuff's mouth and struck Growlithe. Growlithe then fell asleep. "Use Rollout!" Igglybuff rolls into a ball and struck Growlithe hard. This makes Growlithe wake up, but Igglybuff struck Growlithe again, dealing some heavier damage. Growlithe has been knocked out. The gentleman called back his Growlithe and smiled.
"Well done, young lady. You have raised your Igglybuff wonderfully," the gentleman said. Kairi smiled.
"Thank you," Kairi said. Igglybuff went up to her. She pets her on the head. "You were wonderful, Igglybuff."
"Igglybuff," Igglybuff said. Igglybuff started to evolve, much to her surprise. Igglybuff has become a pink Pokémon with a spherical body. It has pointed ears with black insides and large, blue eyes. It has small, stubby arms and slightly longer feet. On top of its head is a curled tuft of fur. "Jigglypuff." Kairi took out her Pokédex and scanned her newly evolved Pokémon.
Jigglypuff, the Balloon Pokémon
The evolved form of Igglybuff
Type: Normal/Fairy
Jigglypuff has a harmonious voice whenever it sings. The song Jigglypuff has the power to put all those who hear it to sleep.
"That battle must have helped you evolve," Kairi said.
"Jigglypuff," Jigglypuff said, smiling.
Over to Team Rocket, they searched for Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel, but they didn't find any signs of them.
"Lost them again, lost them again. The boss is going to be pissed off if he hears we didn't catch a single Pokémon for him," James said.
"It's only because you kept screwing up, James," Jessie said.
"I'm not the one who has the terrible sense of direction," James said.
"We gotta keep looking. They can't be too far away," Meowth said. Just then, something unexpected came their way. It is a small, pink Pokémon with dark-blue legs and "hat", which appears crooked and has a white ball on it. A red bump appears on its stomach and a typical red clown nose appears on its face. It has slender arms and small hands.
"What is that?" Jessie asked. James gasped in awe. "It's a Mime Jr!"
"Mime, Mime, Mime," Mime Jr said.
"Mime Jr? Isn't that a Pokémon that is said to copy people's movements?" Jessie asked, placing her hands on her hips. Mime Jr imitates her.
"Mime Jr, Mime," Mime Jr said. Jessie growled.
"Stop copying me!" Jessie roared, scaring Mime Jr. It goes right behind James.
"Here now. She didn't mean to scare you," James said. He picked up Mime Jr. "How would you like to be my Pokémon from now on? What do you say?" Mime Jr smiled.
"Mime Jr," Mime Jr nodded and James took out a Pokéball and flows inside it. Stars swirls around the Pokéball and James held it close.
A week later, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel departed from the ship and went off to the Pokémon Center to rest from the enjoyable cruise. After they got off the St. Anne, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel heads for the Pokémon Center and prepare for Sora's next Gym battle. Sora remembered he was going to be up against Electric-type Pokémon, so he exchanged Squirtle for Sandshrew since Squirtle is weak against Electric-type moves, and Sandshrew, Geodude, and Onix are the best bet against the Gym Leader.
They arrived at the Vermilion City Gym and stepped inside. And right inside are a group of people, wearing military clothing.
"Which one of you is here to challenge Lt. Surge?" One of the men asked.
"That'll be me," Sora said. The first man turned around.
"Hey, boss! Another challenger has come your way!" The man called out.
Just then, a large, muscular man with spiked blond hair and light skin came walking towards them. He wore a sleeveless green shirt and camouflage pants, black boots, and a dog tag.
"This guy is huge," Sora said. Kairi felt intimidated by his size. He stopped when he reached them.
"Which one?" The large man asked.
"Me. You're Lt. Surge, right?" Sora asked.
"That's me, shorty," Lt. Surge said.
"Shorty?" Sora asked. "I'm here to challenge you into a Gym battle."
"Okay, kid. I'll make this a quick as I can, but this ain't going to be a walk in the park as you know," Lt. Surge said.
"I know that," Sora said.
"Just so you know, I expect my opponents to use every Pokémon against the number of Pokémon I choose. And I choose one," Lt. Surge said. Sora was surprised by what he said.
"Only one?" Sora asked, surprised. "Isn't that a disadvantage on your part?"
"Every Gym has its own set of rules, and the rules says, I can use any number of Pokémon I want. The Pokémon League Association says it's okay," Lt. Surge said.
Both Trainers got into position as the battle is about to begin.
"The battle of the Vermillion City Gym is about to begin! The challenger will be using all six Pokémon as the Gym Leader will be using only one! The challenger is welcome to make many substitutions as he wants, and the battle is over if either the challenger's or the Gym Leader's Pokémon are unable to continue! Let the battle begin!" The referee announced. Lt. Surge took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Raichu!" Lt. Surge called out. His Pokéball opened and his Raichu emerged from inside. His Raichu grinned ready for anything.
"A Raichu," Sora said. Kairi looked at Lt. Surge's Raichu and saw how much stronger it looked; stronger than her Raichu it seems. Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Sandshrew!" His Pokéball opened and Sandshrew rolls right in.
"So, you brought a Ground-type Pokémon to go up against my Raichu. Smart move, but types alone don't win battles, and here's why! Raichu! Use Mega Punch!" Lt. Surge ordered. Raichu came at Sandshrew and lands a punch onto Sandshrew, sending him flying backwards. Sandshrew has been taken down with just one hit, much to Sora and Kairi's dismay.
"Sandshrew is unable to battle! Raichu wins!" The referee announced. Sora called back his Sandshrew.
"I'm sorry, Sandshrew. I wasn't expecting that to happen," Sora said. He took out another Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Geodude!" Geodude emerged from inside.
"Okay, another Ground-type, but it's gonna end the same way, kid," Lt. Surge said.
"We're gonna see about that! Geodude! Use Rock Throw!" Sora ordered. Geodude unleashed rocks right at Raichu. Lt. Surge just smirked.
"Raichu! Send those rocks back with Iron Tail!" Lt. Surge ordered. Raichu bats the rocks back with Iron Tail.
"Geodude! Use Fire Punch to block your own attack!" Sora ordered. Geodude uses Fire Punch to block Geodude's Rock Throw. "Use Fire Punch again, but move in closer!" Geodude came at Raichu with another Fire Punch.
"Grab that Geodude with your tail!" Lt. Surge called out. Raichu grabbed Geodude before Geodude got close enough. "Give it a toss!" Raichu spins around and around, and then threw Geodude straight to the ground, resulting in a knockout.
"Geodude is unable to battle! Raichu wins!" The referee announced. Sora called back Geodude and took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Let's think big! Go! Onix!" Sora called out. Onix emerged from inside.
"Shorty's got a big Pokémon! Bigger ain't always better!" Lt. Surge said.
"Onix! Use Dragon Breath!" Sora ordered. Onix spews Dragon Breath at the evolved form of Pikachu. Raichu is struck by the attack but isn't even bothered. "Use Iron Tail!"
"Dig!" Sora ordered. Onix dove underground, moving fast. Raichu misses its mark, so Onix emerged from the ground and struck Raichu by the wall. "Use Rock Throw!" Onix hurls Rock Throw, much stronger than Geodude's Rock Throw, dealing some additional damage. "Way to go, Onix!"
"You're a whole lot better than I thought, kid. Raichu! Iron Tail!" Lt. Surge ordered. Raichu came at Onix and slammed its tail hard. "Iron Tail again!" Raichu lands another hit on Onix, resulting in a knockout.
"Onix is unable to battle! Raichu wins!" The referee announced. Sora called back Onix.
"Man, he took down half of my team. But the good news is, Onix has given Raichu some damage, and that's a good sign," Sora said to himself. He took out a Pokéball and threw it. "Bulbasaur! Go!" His Pokéball opened and Bulbasaur emerged from inside.
"A Bulbasaur. This'll be easy. Raichu! Use Mega Punch!" Lt. Surge ordered. Raichu ran towards Bulbasaur.
"Dodge and use Razor Leaf!" Sora ordered. Bulbasaur fired Razor Leaf, and lands a hit onto Raichu. "Use Vine Whip!" Bulbasaur smacked Raichu hard. "One more Vine Whip!" Bulbasaur moved his vines, but Raichu grabbed hold of the vines. "Use Thunderbolt!" Raichu unleashed Thunderbolt, shocking Bulbasaur. The Seed Pokémon has taken some heavy damage from Raichu's Thunderbolt.
"Bulbasaur! Use Tackle!" Sora ordered. Bulbasaur ran towards Raichu with Tackle.
"Use Mega Kick!" Lt. Surge ordered. Raichu's foot becomes surrounded by red energy. Raichu lands a kick onto Bulbasaur. The Seed Pokémon is down, but not out. Bulbasaur stands back on his two feet. Lt. Surge was impressed by Bulbasaur's resolve and refusal to stay down. "Your Bulbasaur has some real spunk. Raichu! Use Mega Punch!" Raichu came at Bulbasaur and lands a Mega Punch on the spot. "Finish Bulbasaur with Iron Tail!" Raichu smacked Bulbasaur with Iron Tail, finishing him off.
"Bulbasaur is unable to battle! Raichu wins!" The referee announced. Sora called back Bulbasaur.
"You did great, Bulbasaur. Rest up," Sora said.
"You ready to call it quits?" Lt. Surge asked.
"I came too far to give up now," Sora said.
"If you want to keep going, just don't blame me if your Pokémon gets hurt. That's on you," Lt. Surge said. Sora knew he was right. He already put himself in the situation, and he had to see it through to the end. Sora took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Charmander!" Sora called out. His Charmander emerged from inside.
"Now, that's something! A Fire-type Pokémon against my Raichu. I'm going to put out that fire of yours! Raichu! Thunderbolt!" Lt. Surge ordered. Raichu unleashed Thunderbolt.
"Dodge and use Flamethrower!" Sora ordered. Charmander dodged and fired Flamethrower right at the Mouse Pokémon. Raichu is struck hard. The flames have subsided, but Raichu isn't even bothered by the flame attack. "Use Scratch!" Charmander came running towards Raichu.
"Use Mega Punch!" Lt. Surge ordered. Raichu lands a Mega Punch on Charmander, but the Lizard Pokémon isn't going down that easily.
"Use Scratch again!" Sora ordered. Charmander came right at Raichu and scratches it. "Use Dragon Rage!" Charmander took in a deep breath, and then opens his mouth and fires a powerful blast of purple energy at Raichu.
"Use Thunderbolt!" Lt. Surge ordered. Raichu unleashed Thunderbolt, cutting through Charmander's Dragon Rage. Charmander has been hit hard, and lands on the ground, beaten.
"Charmander is unable to battle! Raichu wins!" The referee announced. Sora called back Charmander.
"You tried your best, Charmander. Rest up," Sora said.
"Sora," Kairi said. Sora turned to her. She whispered into his ear. "Sora, I noticed something about that Raichu."
"What?" Sora asked in a whisper.
"I noticed how that Raichu didn't have any speed moves he can only learn as a Pikachu," Kairi said. Sora understood what she meant. He has speed on his side.
"I got ya, Kairi," Sora said. "Thanks." He turned to his partner. "Pikachu, you ready."
"Pika," Pikachu entered the battlefield, ready to battle Raichu.
"Pikachu, I knew you wanted a piece of that Raichu ever since we started battling. Because of you, I, no, we won my first two Gym Badges, and we never gave up. Even when the odds are against us, we will win it," Sora said in his thoughts. "Go, Pikachu! Use the strategy we just cooked up!"
"Pika!" Pikachu said.
"A strategy, huh? They must have found a new way to lose," Lt. Surge said. "Go Raichu!"
"Rai!" Raichu said.
"Iron Tail!" Lt. Surge ordered. Raichu swung its tail at Pikachu hitting its mark. Raichu kept swatting at Pikachu with the tail.
"Pikachu!" Sora called. "Try to roll out of the way!"
"Come on Pikachu," Kairi said. "You can do it."
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Give it another Iron Tail!" Lt. Surge said. "And make it a big one!"
Raichu was about to finish Pikachu off with one last swing. Angel was terrified for Pikachu.
"PIKACHU!" Sora and Kairi called out.
"EEVEE!" Angel yelled.
Hearing their voices cry out, Pikachu jumps out of the way in time only for Raichu's Iron Tail to miss.
"What the?!" Surge exclaimed. "No Way!"
"Alright!" Kairi cheered.
"Eevee, vee!" Angel cheered extra hard.
"Go for it, Pikachu!" Sora said. "Agility!"
Pikachu ran fast as a cheetah, but Lt. Surge wasn't gonna call it quits.
"Raichu stop that Pikachu!" Lt. Surge called. Raichu tried to stop Pikachu, but Pikachu just moved way too fast. No matter where Pikachu went Raichu couldn't catch up with its opponent.
"It's working! Just as Kairi said it would!" Sora said in his thoughts. "Kairi, I could kiss you for this! But that kiss will have to wait until later," Sora said in his thoughts. "Pikachu! Use your Agility! Run circles around Raichu!"
Pikachu literally ran circles around Raichu. The evolved mouse Pokémon tried to keep its eyes on its opponent but got dizzy in the process.
"Your Raichu is way too slow, Lt. Surge!" Sora said. "You evolved your Raichu way too fast; that's your Raichu's weakness."
"Alright, Raichu, use your Thunderbolt!" Lt. Surge shouted. "Shut it down!"
"Rai... CHU!" Raichu let out a powerful Thunderbolt attack. The attack spread all over the battlefield. The Thunderbolt even spread over to the windows shattering them. Creating a smokescreen. It was difficult to see if the attack hit.
"The end of the match!" Lt. Surge said. But once the smoke cleared, he saw Pikachu standing on his tail. "What?"
"Pikachu!" Sora cheered.
"Pikachu used his tail as a ground to dodge the Thunderbolt," Kairi said. "Way to go Pikachu!"
Lt. Surge growled in frustration.
"Raichu! Fire another Thunderbolt!" Lt. Surge ordered. Raichu tried to do that, but something was wrong. Raichu tried again only to get the same results. Raichu was confused by that. "DO SOMETHING!"
"Forget it, Surge!" Sora called out. "Raichu has no more juice left. Raichu must have used it up after dealing with my non-Ground-types. And it's in the bag! Move-in with Quick Attack!"
"Raichu! Mega Punch now!" Lt. Surge ordered. Raichu tried to land a Mega Punch only to miss due to Pikachu's speed.
"Pika!" Pikachu charged at Raichu hitting it in the gut.
"Rai!" Raichu wheezed.
"Wrap it up with Iron Tail!" Sora ordered.
Pikachu started to charge his tail with electricity along with Iron Tail and hits Raichu right on target. Raichu fell to the ground, totally exhausted.
"UNBELIEVABLE!" Lt. Surge shouted in disbelief.
"Way to go, Pikachu!" Kairi cheered.
"Yes!" Sora added.
"Eevee!" Angel cheered.
Even Lt. Surge's staff didn't believe it. The referee sighed as he reluctantly made the announcement.
"Raichu is unable to battle," the referee said. "Pikachu wins! That means the victory goes to Sora Ketchum from Pallet Town!"
Pikachu stood over his fallen opponent and smiled.
"Pi, Pika, Pika, Pikachu!" Pikachu beamed.
Sora and Lt. Surge shook hands after an epic battle.
"Congratulations, Sora," Lt. Surge said. "And to you, too, Pikachu. As proof of your victory, I present you the Thunder Badge! You deserve it after that battle ya gave me!"
"Thanks, Surge," Sora said.
Sora looked at the Thunder Badge with pride. It is in the shape of an eight-pointed gold star with an orange octagon in the center.
"You should be proud," Lt. Surge said. "You and your Pikachu work well together!"
"Thanks!" Sora said.
Kairi and Angel walked up to Sora with a smile feeling proud of their achievement. Angel went up to Pikachu, making him blush.
"I knew you could do it," she said putting her hand on his shoulder.
Surge and his staff clapped to the victor.
"You're way better than I thought, Sora. I'm man enough to admit I underestimated you. Not once have you given up, and you stuck it out to the end, and that deserves lots of respect," Lt. Surge complimented. "So congratulations once again."
"You should pat yourself on the back, Pikachu. Your speed took me off guard." - Raichu subtitle.
"Thanks for that. You did pretty good yourself," - Pikachu subtitle.
As soon as Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel left the Gym and returned to the Pokémon Center. Sora checked Pikachu and the other Pokémon in for treatment while the kids made their way to the mess hall for dinner. Angel wanted to be with Pikachu while he recovered.
"Three down, five to go," Sora said.
"And you deserve it, too," Kairi said.
"Well, I don't deserve all the credit," Sora said.
"What do you mean?" Kairi asked.
"You helped me out with that," Sora said. "So the credit should partially go to you. I couldn't have earned this badge without your idea. So there's something I wanted to do just to thank you for it."
"What?" Kairi asked wanting to know. Sora smiled at her and kissed her right on the cheek. Kairi started to blush from the kiss. She placed her hand over the spot he kissed her at. "Oh..."
"That's what," Sora said.
"Well you're welcome, Sora," Kairi said still blushing.
The kids went to the mess hall to enjoy their meal while Kairi was happy about Sora's victory and the peck on the cheek.
Over to Pikachu and Angel, Pikachu is exhausted from that battle as well as the other Pokémon.
"Thanks for being here for me, Angel." - Pikachu subtitle.
"I want to be here with you, Pikachu." - Angel subtitle.
"I appreciate it, Angel. I like it when you're around, Angel." - Pikachu said. That made Angel smile.
"And I appreciate what you just said. And I appreciate you." - Angel subtitle. That made Pikachu smile.
"Thanks." - Pikachu subtitle.
"Would it be okay if I slept beside you?" - Angel subtitle.
"If you want, Angel." - Pikachu subtitle. Angel snuggled up to Pikachu. The Mouse Pokémon blushed at how warm she felt. Angel blushed, hearing Pikachu's heartbeat. They both fell right to sleep. Angel was happy that she got to sleep next to the Pokémon she loves.
The very next morning, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel were preparing to head out to start their journey to Celadon City. Many patrons passed by them, looking at how close they are. Saying what a happy couple they are.
They left sometime later for Sora's fourth Gym battle. But to make it through Celadon City, they had to make it through Cerulean City, and outside lays a dark cave next to an abandoned Power Plant, but this time they're not taking any shortcuts.
