Chapter 13
***Alexis' Cottage House***
(Alexis was having coffee and reading the paper when, all of a sudden, she heard banging at her front door, wondering who the hell it could be)
Alexis: (sighs deeply) "Alright! Alright! I'm coming! You don't have to knock so damn hard! I'm not deaf!"
(Alexis puts her coffee and paper down and rushes to the front door and opens it, revealing Sam. Before Alexis has a chance to say anything, Sam bursts in and begins complaining)
Alexis: (waves her hand) "Come on in." (rolls her eyes)
(Sam gets to the couch before she turns around and faces her mother while laughing incredulously)
Sam: "Can you believe that fucking bitch, mom?"
(Alexis signals for Sam to stop talking before speaking)
Alexis: "Okay, shush for a second. Now, talk slower so I can actually understand you. What's going on and do you need a lawyer?"
(Sam looks at her mother in confusion before she utters another word)
Sam: "Why would I need a lawyer?"
(Alexis raises her hands to her sides and leans back a bit)
Alexis: "Because you bang on my front door and come in here like a bat out of hell and mumble before calling someone a 'fucking bitch'. Who's the bitch?"
Sam: (chuckles) "Elizabeth fucking Webber!"
Alexis: "You DO know that she's married, right? Her last name is Baldwin."
(Sam raises her hands to her shoulders and shouts)
Sam: "THEN WHY DOESN'T SHE ACT LIKE IT AND QUIT HANGING AROUND JASON?! I swear, that woman spends more time with my man than her own husband!"
Alexis: (tilts her head) "How are you and Jason doing, by the way? It's been a few days since I've seen you."
(Sam tries to avoid eye contact with her mother. She knew if Alexis knew the truth, Sam would have to accept the truth. She was not ready to do that yet)
Alexis: "Sam, what are you not telling me?"
Sam: "What do you mean?"
(Sam continues to play dumb, but Alexis knew better)
Alexis: "You're forgetting how well I know you. And how well I can tell when you're keeping something from me. Spill it. You know it's only a matter of time before I find out."
Sam: (rolls her eyes & sighs) "Mom…."
Alexis: (serious tone) "Do I need to go to Jason?"
Sam: "Why do you automatically assume Jason is involved?"
(Alexis raises her hands near her breasts and shrugs)
Alexis: "Isn't it always about him? Now, I'll ask you one more time. What's going on?"
(Sam sighs deeply before groaning in the palm of her hands as she faces her mother)
Sam: (pouts) "Jason ended things with me because of the damn parole officer and Lizzie the stupid bitch."
(After a few moments of processing what she was told, Alexis speaks)
Alexis: "I know you're not going to want to hear this, but you do know that it doesn't help to blame others. Sam, I think it's time for you to reevaluate your priorities."
(Sam points at her mother and then walks in a circle as she spoke in a fit of rage)
Sam: "Sorry, mom! NOT happening! Lizzie is going to get what's coming to her. I don't care what I have to do. She will pay!"
(Alexis walks to her daughter and looks at her right in the eyes, making sure they were face to face)
Alexis: "You need to get over this vendetta you have against Elizabeth, Sam. You're just borrowing trouble."
***Elizabeth and Franco's House***
(Jason didn't want a repeat of seeing Franco when he was actually looking for Elizabeth. So, he texted Elizabeth to make sure she was home and she said Franco took the boys out for ice cream for dessert. After arriving at her house, they sit down on the couch and get comfy before Jason gets down to business)
Jason: "I wanted to warn you about something. I personally don't care, but I know you might since it concerns Franco."
Liz: (nods) "Go on."
Jason: "Franco doesn't like us hanging out. As long as you don't care, I don't care, either."
(Elizabeth sighs deeply as she faces forward, massaging her thighs, causing Jason to ask Elizabeth to talk to him. She faces him)
Liz: (a bit sadly) "Things are a bit rocky at home because of our finances."
Jason: (sighs softly) "Why didn't you tell me, Elizabeth? I can help you. I have absolutely no problem helping you."
Liz: (smiles politely) "While I appreciate it more than you know, I have to turn you down." (rolls her eyes) "Franco feels it should be up to him to provide for us…me and the boys….as he's the stepdad."
(Jason scoffs loudly as he briefly wipes his chin before facing the love of his life again in anger)
Jason: "I don't give a shit what Franco thinks or says. If you need help, especially for the boys, I'll help."
(Elizabeth can't help but smile at Jason's sincerity and rests her hand over his. They both look at the hand touching and face each other again)
Liz: "Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for always being there for me and the boys."
Jason: (smiles tenderly) "You're welcome. I'm always there for you, no matter what."
(Once she realizes what she's doing, that she had her hand over Jason's, she immediately retrieves her hand and apologizes)
Jason: (puzzled) "For what?"
(Elizabeth briefly looks down and places a few strands of hair behind her ears as she talks)
Liz: (chuckles softly) "It's so easy to be normal around you that I forget I can't be as normal around Franco. I do love Franco, don't get me wrong. But, sometimes it feels like work."
(Before Elizabeth realizes what she's saying, she lets the next words escape her mouth)
Liz: (smiles a bit) "If only all three of my boys were yours biologically instead of just the one."
(Jason can't help but get a bit teary-eyed and didn't realize he was resting his hand over hers on her thighs, massaging it)
Jason: "I wish for that every day. Because, in my heart, Jake, Cameron, and Aiden are already mine."
(From the way Jason and Elizabeth were looking at each other, with passion in their eyes, Jason knew he needed to leave. He didn't want to, but he needed to before they did something they both would regret. He wanted to stay, though, more than anything. They both swallow loudly and get composed)
Jason: (clears his throat) "I better go."
Liz: "Yeah. Franco and the boys will be back soon." (smiles) "Thanks for stopping by."
Jason: "Anytime."
(Jason makes his exit and Elizabeth sighs deeply as she thinks about what just happened)
