Pokémon: Sinnoh no Isekai

Chapter One-hundred and six: Every-Juan will get a chance to shine

As it would turn out, Dawn and Kenny were able to procure a helicopter ride from Mossdeep City to Sootopolis City, the last destination in the Hoenn portion of their Gym Challenge tour before the reborn trainers return home to Sinnoh. Given the time of day that they arrived, however, neither of them would be able to challenge the local gym leader. That was fine, as both Dawn and Kenny had to rotate their respective parties around to best go after the Sootopolis City gym who, according to the cheat sheet provided by May and Max, was a man named Juan.

Kenny wore a confused look on his face as he and Dawn sat in the bunk room at the Sootopolis City Pokémon Center. "...We're going to be battling my Pikachu?"

"No, Kenny," Dawn said, "The gym leader here in Sootopolis City is named Juan. He's Wallace's memntor."

Kenny looked like he was understanding things now. "Ah, that helps to clear things up." Holding up a pokéball, Kenny went on, "All I know it that Juan the Pikachu, among some of my other Pokémon, will be facing Juan the gym leader man."

Dawn nodded in understanding. "Pikachu, being an electric type, would be a good choice." Looking at the cheat sheet, Dawn said, "...Battles against Juan will be five on five single-style battles, and Juan will be coming at challengers with Luvdisc, Sealeo, Seaking, Whiscash, and Milotic." Lowering the cheat sheet, Dawn said to Kenny, "I know I don't have to tell you this, but just don't use your Pikachu against Whiscash."

"Whiscash is dual water ground type, right?" Kenny asked, then went on after Dawn nodded in the affirmative, "Then I'll just use Roshi. Oh! I just remembered!" Taking out a pokéball and expanding it, Kenny said, "You missed it since you and Tate flew off to stop that rocket and save Tate's sister, but check out Sophie now!" Kenny then tossed up the pokéball he held, calling a Cradily out in the process. "Sophie evolved," Kenny said, "She must have gotten enough battle experience passively to reach the threshold. You think Sophie can rock it against Juan the man?"

"A strong grass type will always help," Dawn said, "Just be careful around Sealeo. It's part ice type."

Pointing at Dawn, Kenny said, "But still part water, and ice doesn't mitigate electric so Juan the Pikachu to the rescue. Ice is also weak to fighting, so I can use Zarbon. I can also add in Priestess who's part grass." Clapping his hands together, Kenny said, "Juan, Roshi, Sophie, Zarbon, and Priestess! The perfect five man cringe squad to bring Juan the man to his knees!"

...

"What do you mean I can't get Priestess?"

Later, when Dawn and Kenny were calling to Professor Oak's lab to do party rotations, Oak had told Kenny that Priestess wouldn't be available. "I'm sorry, Kenny," Oak said on the video phone screen, "But I'm going to be needing your Liligant for a Hisui history lecture I'm giving to a class at a Pokémon school that's local here in Kanto. The lecture will be tomorrow, and I really need to use your Liligant." Turning to look at Dawn, Oak added, "I will likewise need to use your Arcanine for the lecture, Dawn. I hope you don't mind."

"Kenny and I are gearing up to take on the gym in Sootopolis City," Dawn said, "Said gym uses water Pokémon. Argent is dual fire rock type. I was never planning to use Argent against the Sootopolis City gym anyway."

Turning to look at Kenny, Oak said, "Why don't you use your shiny Scizor, Kenny? He's certainly a strong contender."

Kenny looked like he was thinking about it, but ultimately nodded in agreement. "Alright it's settled. Cell will be taking Priestess's place in the cringe squad to bring down Juan."

"You're going to bring down your Pikachu, Kenny?" Oak asked, looking shocked and rather confused.

Rolling her eyes, Dawn said, "The gym leader in Sootopolis City is also named Juan, Professor Oak."

"Ah, that explains it," Oak replied, looking and sounding relieved. After things were settled, Dawn and Kenny got to rotating their respective parties. When all was said and done, Kenny had Roshi (Torterra), Juan (Pikachu), Sophie (Cradily), Zarbon (Machamp), Cell (shiny Scizor), and Black (Giratina) on hand; as for Dawn, she had Akiza (Roserade), Leni (Lucario), Otohime (Electivire), Fena (Leafeon), Foamy (Pachirisu), and Tsukune (Palkia) on hand. Neither of the reborn trainers were aiming to use their respective legendary dragons against Juan the man.

With that business settled, Dawn and Kenny turned in for the night, with Kenny saying he'll get first crack at Juan the man in the morning.

The next morning, after the reborn trainers got up, took care of hygiene, dressed, and ate a small breakfast, they made their way to the gym. After a short walk, Dawn and Kenny reached their destination, with Kenny boldly walking right on in as Dawn followed behind. As luck would have it, the spotted a well dressed man who Dawn identified to Kenny as Juan the man. They approached Juan, with Kenny getting his attention by saying, "Are you Juan?"

Turning to face the reborn trainers, Juan said, "Ah, you must know me in advance due to my past as a famous Pokémon Coordinator. Yes, I am indeed Juan."

"We came here looking for you as we intended to challenge you to gym battles," Dawn said, "But one at a time, obviously. Also, Kenny here said that he wanted to go first."

Juan looked rather amused by the fact he got two challengers wanting to face him more or less back to back. "Ah, it's been a bit since I've stretched my gym leader muscles. I've been helping with ensuring security for the Contest Halls in Hoenn, lest those horrible little rapscallions known as Team Scorn had been acting up here in the Hoenn region."

Gesturing to herself and Kenny, Dawn said, "We've actually been helping with fighting off Team Scorn, working with Steven Stone himself on the matter. To be honest, the Contest Halls were never in any danger from Team Scorn. But we can't hold your concerns against you."

"Ah, you two are both brave heroes!" Juan remarked, "I can tell that I'll be enjoying my battles with the both of you!" The leader of the Sootopolis City gym then had Dawn and Kenny follow him into the stadium of his gym, where he and Kenny will have their showdown.

...

"This is an official Sootopolis City gym battle between the gym leader, Juan, and the challenger, Kenny!" the referee announced as the battle between Kenny and Juan was about to begin, "Each trainer may use up to five Pokémon, and the battle is over when all of one trainer's allocated Pokémon are unable to battle! Also, only Kenny can substitute Pokémon out at any time. Now then, begin!"

"Luvdisc, I choose you!" Juan said as he sent out his first Pokémon, which was his Luvdisc.

Kenny, with a smirk on his face, said while tossing up a pokéball, "Alright, Juan! Let's make it cringe!"

Juan, looking confused, said, "Wait a minute, how do I make it-"

"Pikachu!" Juan the Pikachu cried out as he entered the battle, his cry carrying a distinct and alluring Latino accent. As always, he was wearing his Pika-libre outfit.

Gesturing to his Pikachu, Kenny said, "My Pikachu here is also named Juan." Pumping a fist into the air, Kenny said, "That's right, I'm using Juan to challenge Juan, and I'll beat Juan by using Juan! Infinite levels of Juan!"

Smirking a bit in amusement, Juan the man said, "Juan-estly, that's a lot of Juan. Not that it's a bad thing mind you. In fact, I feel it'll make this battle one of the best that I'll ever have!" Pointing forward, Juan said, "Luvdisc, use Water Pulse!"

"Juan, use Disarming Voice!" Kenny called out.

The two Pokémon fired their attacks straight at one another, causing Water Pulse and Disarming Voice to crash into and burst one another, creating an impressive display of water droplets and pink energy to fly out in what wouldn't be unwelcomed in a Contest. Pointing forward, Juan said, "Luvdisc, use Water Gun!"

"Juan, counter with Thunderbolt!" Kenny ordered.

Water Gun and Thunderbolt flew out and collided into one another, but Thunderbolt blasted on through and went on to strike Luvdisc, dealing heavy damage and also scoring paralysis on Luvdisc. "Juan, use Disarming Voice!" Kenny called out.

"Luvdisc, use Water Pulse!" Juan called out.

Luvdisc tried to fight through its paralysis, but Juan's Disarming Voice slammed right into it as it tried to force on through, sending it reeling back until it hit the edge of the water and floated there in defeat. "Luvdisc is unable to battle," the referee announced, "The winner is Pikachu!"

Juan the man did not begrudge Kenny taking the lead in their battle. Rather, he seemed impressed with a dash of looking amused. "...Well either way," Juan said as he recalled his fainted Luvdisc, "Juan is taking the lead here."

"A lead that shall be kept, maybe?" Kenny asked.

"Either Juan helps keep the lead or Juan takes the lead," Juan the man said, "Let's see which scenario ends up playing out, hmm? Sealeo, I choose you!"

"Juan, return!" Kenny said as he switched his Pokémon out, "Alright, Zarbon! Let's make it cringe!" Coming out in place of Juan the Pikachu was Zarbon the Machamp. Pointing forward, as if with deliberate dramatic flare, Kenny called out, "Zarbon, use Dynamic Punch!"

"Sealeo, use Aurora Beam!" Juan commanded.

Sealeo conjured, took aim, and fired with its Aurora Beam Attack. But Zarbon's Dynamic Punch, which collided right into the oncoming Aurora Beam, plowed right through it and went on to slug Sealeo right in the left side of its face, sending it flying until it crashed into a wall behind Juan, whereupon it fell down to the floor, clearly knocked out from Zarbon's attack. "Sealeo is unable to battle," the referee announced, "The winner is Machamp!"

Kenny let out a cheer over him keeping the lead, but stopped short when he saw Zarbon flex his hand that punched Sealeo open and closed as he winced in pain. "...Oh yeah, Zarbon's decreased Special Defense growth due to his nature," Kenny muttered to himself, "Gotta be careful not to let Zarbon take many more special attacks."

"I must say, young man," Juan remarked while recalling his fainted Sealeo, "You've proven to be rather grand challenger. Not only are you clearly strong, but you've also been a rather amusing person to battle. More challengers ought to be like you."

Kenny gave a hum of amusement. "Well now, I had better keep it up, ehh?"

"Indeed," Juan said, "Just as I ought to start stepping up! Seaking, I choose you!"

Switching his own Pokémon out, Kenny said, "Zarbon, return! Okay, Sophie! Let's make it cringe!" Taking the place of Kenny's named Machamp was his named Cradily. Pointing forward, Kenny ordered, "Cradily, use Ancient Power!"

"Seaking, use Horn Attack!" Juan commanded.

Seaing rushed forward as Sophie willed up her Ancient Power attack and struck Sophie on her right flank before getting hit. However, Sophie due to her partial rock typing resisted the Horn Attack. And Seaking being right there put it in point blank range of getting hit by Ancient Power, which not only ended up happening, but a lot of glowing lights flew up from Sophie after she had struck Seaking with Ancient Power.

"Ancient Power had bolstered all of Sophie's stats," Dawn muttered to herself from where she was watching the battle in the bleachers surrounding the battlefield, "Seaking isn't down for the count yet, but the all around stat boosts ought to help Sophie clean up shop here."

True to form, down on the battlefield, Kenny called out, "Sophie, use Giga Drain!"

"Seaking, use Hyper Beam!" Juan ordered.

As Seaking was charging up its Hyper Beam attack, Sophie was able to more quickly charge up and cast her Giga Drain attack, striking Seaking with it and not only draining its remaining health, leading to Seaking passing out and laying there in defeat, but the Giga Drain restored what little health Sophie lost taking the prior Horn Attack. "Seaking is unable to battle," the referee announced, "The winner is Cradily!"

Juan recalled his fainted Seaking, giving Kenny a wry look of amusement. "I must say, you certainly don't stop with the surprises, young man. You may have a future in Contests if you ever try your hand at it."

Kenny smirked a bit in amusement. "Thanks."

Holding another pokéball, Juan said, "Now I must really step up! I normally reserve this one for last, but I feel obligated to return your surprises with my own! Milotic, I choose you!"

"Sophie, return!" Kenny said as he swapped his Pokémon around, "Alright, Roshi! Let's make it cringe!" Coming out in place of Kenny's named Cradily was his named Torterra, the first Pokémon that he ever got, getting him as a Turtwig back when he had first started out as a trainer. Pointing forward, Kenny said, "Roshi, use Seed Bomb!"

"Milotic, use Iron Tail!" Juan called out. Milotic rushed forward and was able to land Iron Tail on Roshi, but it took Roshi's Seed Bomb attack on the way, and it caused some great degree of pain to Milotic. "Milotic, use Recover!" Juan ordered.

"Roshi, use Crunch!" Kenny commanded. Milotic began using Recover and was able to get it off, but it took too much damage from Roshi's prior Seed Bomb to be fully healed. Furthermore, it looked a bit paling after getting hit by Roshi's Crunch, a clear sign its defense stat had dropped a stage. Seeing this, Kenny decided to strike while the iron was hot. "Roshi, use Seed Bomb!"

"Milotic, use Twister!" Juan called out. As Milotic willed up its Twister attack, Roshi conjured up a large seed the size of a beach ball and cast it at Milotic, making it blow up upon contact with Milotic and causing more damage than usual due to the defense drop Milotic suffered. More damage than usual from an attack that was already super effective to begin with ended with Milotic getting taken out. "Milotic is unable to battle," the referee announced, "The winner is Torterra!"

Juan seemed amused despite how far he was trailing behind in the battle against Kenny. "An able opponent indeed," Juan said, "I at least owe it to you to give what all that I have left for this battle! Whiscash, I choose you!"

Swapping his Pokémon out, Kenny said, "Roshi, return! Okay, Cell! Let's make it cringe!" Juan was surprised by Kenny swapping his Pokémon out for two reasons. One, Roshi as a Torterra has a very distinct type advantage against the dual water ground Whiscash so keeping Roshi in would be smart, especially since Roshi still had plenty of steam despite taking an Iron Tail from Milotic. Two, the Pokémon that Kenny sent out to take Torterra's place was, to Juan's surprise, a shiny Scizor.

"Oh ho ho!" Juan cried out in excitement, "A shiny Scizor! I can't recall the last time that I faced an opponent in any field using a shiny Pokémon!"

Kenny allowed himself a smirk of amusement. "Well I gotta give every-Juan a chance to shine, hmm?" Over where she sat in the audience, Dawn face palmed from the pun. Down on the battlefield, Kenny pointed forward as he called out, "Cell, use X-Scissor!"

"Whiscash, use Rock Smash!" Juan commanded.

The two Pokémon rushed at one another, with Cell being quicker striking at Whiscash with X-Scissor. Whiscash wasn't out for the count, and while glowing with a yellow outline, fell like a meteor right at Cell, thus pulling off its Rock Smash attack. ...Right on Cell's abdomen, making Cell go bug eyed as he was overcome with a certain kind of pain only guys would understand. When Whiscash fell away, Cell covered his abdomen with his metal pincer claws and began hunching over, not unlike how a man would do if he took a critical hit to his hidden treasure.

"Oh come on!" Kenny called out in complaint, "Why did Whiscash had to go and strike Cell right in the shmeat?"

Juan looked a bit confused in the unsure sense. "...Umm, that wasn't my intention, I assure you."

Shrugging a bit, and with an air of mild annoyance, Kenny decided to swap his Pokémon around in the battle. "Cell, return! Alright, Juan! Let's make it cringe!" Kenny had decided to send his named luchador Pikachu back out, much to the amusement of Juan the man. Also to the mild concern of Dawn, who was trying to remember from the anime in her previous life if Juan's Whiscash knew any ground moves (Dawn wasn't versed on the anime of other regions as well as she was on Sinnoh). Pointing forward, Kenny called out, "Juan, use Grass Knot!"

"Whiscash, use Hyper Beam!" Juan the man called out.

As Whiscash began charging up its Hyper Beam attack, Juan the Pikachu willed up some blades of grass to grow up below Whiscash and yank it back painfully, causing it to fire its Hyper Beam to the roof, blasting a hole and making come debris fall down which Juan the Pikachu had to dodge around. Juan the Pikachu got clipped by a chunk of ceiling the size of a large marble, but he was otherwise no worse for wear. As for Whiscash, the surprise strike from Grass Knot was able to finish up the job Cell had started, thus leading to knocking Whiscash out.

Holding up a hand, the referee announced, "Whiscash is unable to battle! The winner is Pikachu!" Gesturing to Kenny, the referee declared, "Victory of this battle goes to the challenger, Kenny!"

Juan the man wasn't upset by his loss. On the contrary, he was actually laughing a bit. "Ah ha ha!" Juan the man laughed, "Splendid! You did splendidly, young man!" Turning to look a bit more at Juan the Pikachu, Juan the man said with a smirk of playful amusement on his face, "And regardless of this battle's outcome, Juan still won in the end."

"Well it takes Juan," Kenny said, "To know Juan." Dawn had to put effort in containing her mildly exasperated sigh at the pun as Kenny shook hands with Juan the man after being awarded his rightfully earned Rain Badge. Dawn hoped that her own battle against Juan the man later would be at the very least be a battle with a reduced pun count.

Later, after Juan's Pokémon had sufficient time to be treated and rested, Juan took Dawn's challenge. Dawn won rather handily, seeing Foamy take out Luvdisc, Leni take out Sealeo, Otohime take out Seaking, Fena take out Whiscash, and Akiza take out Milotic. With her rightfully earned Rain Badge in hand, Dawn had completed the Hoenn portion of the Gym Challenge tour, same as Kenny. Now they would be able to return home to the Sinnoh region, rest there a bit, then take off for the Unova region where, among other things, they'll get to run into their friend Ash again.

But they couldn't leave the Hoenn region JUST yet. The reborn trainers were summoned over to Rustboro City where, in a public ceremony held outside of the Devon Corporation building, Dawn and Kenny were each presented awards for their various feats of heroism in fighting off Team Scorn multiple times. Dawn was particularly praised for not only taking down the rocket that otherwise would have hit and destroyed the Devon Corporation building, but doing so while make sure no one was killed. It was even noted how Dawn had saved the life of Mossdeep City gym leader Liza in the process.

Speaking of, Tate and Liza were at the ceremony, as were their parents Jin and Rachel, as they wanted to express thanks to Dawn for saving Liza's life. After Dawn and Kenny were able to get off of the stage set up in front of the Devon Corporation building, each of them carrying a Services to Hoenn award (it looks like the Pokémon League Badge handed out to all participants in the Indigo Pokémon League, save for how the lighter green in the base is replaced with yellow and the darker green in the base is replaced with light blue, also the little gold bit is replaced with a silver one of similar size), Tate and Liza went up to them to give them hugs, Tate hugging Kenny and Liza hugging Dawn.

After the twins broke away from them, Dawn and Kenny saw them walk over to where their parents were at a food table set up for the award ceremony's after party. Seeing Tate and Liza hang close as if they were the best of friends made Dawn feel a bit lonely, thinking back to her previous life as Don Barret, and more importantly, Don's younger sister Piper. Dawn could understand why Liza had acted up before calming back down; similarly, Dawn could also understand why Rhyanna was so keen on keeping Mitchell close to her. When you get right down to it, both were cases of sisters afraid of losing their brothers.

...A tragic pain that Dawn knew she had unintentionally caused someone to go through.

At the airport, Dawn and Kenny got onto their plane to take them back home to the Sinnoh region. While riding in the plane, Kenny said, "Hoo boy, we're heading back home to Sinnoh! After some R&R, we'll make our way to Unova to-"

Kenny stopped short when Dawn, who sat next to him in a window seat, patted him on the shoulder. "...Try keeping it down," Dawn said, her tone at a whisper, "We're being followed."

Instantly, Kenny perked up. "Followed?" Kenny whispered back, "What do you mean we're being followed?"

Dawn jerked her thumb over her shoulder. "Other side of the aisle between the seats, five seats behind us. I first noticed it while we were getting our tickets to go home to Twinleaf Town." Kenny turned his head to look, but was careful not to be too blatant about it. He also strained his eyes in turning to see as well. He saw a top of dirty blonde hair in the area Dawn pointed out, but nothing else.

Turning back around to face Dawn, Kenny asked in a hushed tone, "Do we confront them?"

Gently shaking her head, Dawn said, "No, not here on the plane. Let them follow us for a bit."

...

Eventually, after a less than relaxing airplane ride due to knowing they were being followed, Dawn and Kenny made it back to Twinleaf Town, Sinnoh. After resting a bit, as well as rotate their parties a bit (Dawn now has Chi-Chi, Akiza, Leni, Cyrus, Germany, and Tsukune on hand, while Kenny now has Roshi, Goofy, Kermit, Cell, Shallot, and Black on hand) in preparation for their journey out to the Unova region, Dawn and Kenny hung out at the former's home as she had finished putting up what accolades she earned while traveling through Hoenn.

The eight Hoenn gym badges were now in a frame on the wall in the same row as the badges from Sinnoh, Kanto, and Johto, and the Services to Hoenn award sat on the mantel next to the similar in appearance Pokémon League Badge. The pile of magazines and newspapers that had articles detailing Dawn's feats grew a bit more, and Dawn had saved off to the side a newspaper that held an article detailing how she had taken down the rocket that would have wrecked the Devon Corporation building otherwise; Dawn cared more about how they didn't gloss over Tate's efforts in saving Liza's life (most articles writing about the incident tended to give all of the credit for saving Liza's life to Dawn alone).

After Dawn finished getting everything set up, Kenny said, "Wow, you sure got a lot of stuff now."

Shrugging, Dawn replied, "Well what can I-"

*KNOCK* *KNOCK*

Dawn was cut off when she and Kenny heard a knocking on the front door downstairs. Dawn and Kenny turned to look at one another. "...Someone here to see your mom, I guess?" Kenny asked.

"Well if that's the case, then they're out of luck," Dawn replied as she and Kenny left her room to go downstairs to see who was at the front door, "Because my mom's out doing some shopping since she, Lila, and Cookie are back in Sinnoh for a bit to relax before heading back out to Unova to continue trying to bring Contests there."

Eventually, Dawn and Kenny reached the front door, and it was Dawn who opened it. To the surprise of the reborn trainers, they were greeted by the sight of Trip, Ash's less than polite rival from the Black and White anime in their previous lives. Kenny saw Trip's dirty blonde hair and realized that it had been Trip who was following him and Dawn since at least the airport back in Hoenn. "...You're the guy who's been following us," Kenny said, getting only an affirmative nod out of Trip, "Well would you be so kind as to-"

Kenny was cut off when Trip pointed his right index finger directly at Dawn's face. "...Ash Ketchum should have beaten you when the two of you had battled in the Lily of the Valley Conference," Trip said, sounding less than amused that Dawn had won the battle in question instead.

"...Excuse me?" Dawn asked, surprised to hear Trip declare that Ash should have won instead.

"Ash has had a prominent presence in League conferences for Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn before he tried his hand at the one for Sinnoh," Trip said, "I know as I saw videos of it. Ash is good. Really good. So for some no-name girl to come in from out of nowhere to not only take a win that Ash should have gotten instead, but go on to claim a championship title that would have looked far better on Ash instead, is a grave insult to so great a trainer."

Dawn and Kenny were now totally confused; in the anime in their previous lives, Trip was typically less than polite to Ash, constantly saying that Ash was 'from the boonies', and rarely was at least neutral towards him until Ash beat him in a final battle, whereupon Trip gained more respect for Ash. Here however, Trip instead was apparently a major Ash fanboy (making it kind of clear he respected Ash from the get go).

Gesturing to Trip, Dawn said, "So what is it that you want to-"

"I want to challenge you to a battle, Dawn," Trip said, cutting Dawn off, "I want to prove that your thefts of what should have gone to Ash were nothing more than flukes."

"Yo yo yo, hold it," Kenny said, getting Trip's attention. "Dawn here earned everything she got fair and square," Kenny went on, "She didn't cheat or steal or anything!"

The Unovan-born boy arched a wry eyebrow at Kenny. "...And how do you intend to make your point?"

Taking out a pokéball, expanding it, and pointing it at Trip, Kenny declared, "I'll battle you instead! I'm sort of like the vanguard, so if you wanna battle my main man Dawn, you'll have to clear me first!"

Trip's gaze at Kenny narrowed just a bit. "...Very well, I could use a warm-up for when I put that cheating thief in her place anyway."

The behavior she was seeing out of Trip here, as well as seeing Trip here in general, was really confusing Dawn. "...There's a wide open area over there," Dawn said as she pointed the way, "You two boys can have your battle over there."

"Fair enough," Trip replied as he proceeded to follow Dawn and Kenny over to where Dawn had pointed out. The reborn trainers wanted to figure out what exactly was up with Trip; his being in Sinnoh at all, his fanboying of Ash, everything. Hopefully, Trip's battle with Kenny will help to shed some light on the mystery, and get Dawn and Kenny some answers.

END, CHAPTER ONE-HUNDRED AND SIX

Author's notes;

This chapter sees Dawn and Kenny wrap up the Hoenn portion of their Gym Challenge tour, with focus on Kenny's battle with Juan because Kenny's Pikachu is also named Juan, also Kenny wasn't shown battling a gym leader in a while. Then there was a ceremony where Dawn and Kenny were honored for their services to Hoenn while there, mainly with how they helped to fight off Team Scorn, before the two reborn trainers were able to finally get back home to the Sinnoh region, to rest up before they set sail (metaphorically; they're taking a plane again) for Unova.

...Speaking of Unova, Trip the rival of Ash from the Black and White anime shows up, declares that Dawn had cheated Ash, then proceeds to challenge her, only for Kenny to step up and take the challenge instead. This will kick off a mini-arc that will be set in Sinnoh before the reborn trainers head off again, where there will be a bit of Team Scorn action in Dawn and Kenny's home turf before they move on for further adventure. Don't turn that dial, because things are about to get heated.

Dawn's Pokémon: (on hand) Chi-Chi (female Infernape), Cyrus (male Staraptor), Akiza (female Roserade), Leni (female Lucario), Germany (male Garchomp), Tsukune (Palkia)
