Pokémon: Sinnoh no Isekai
Chapter One-hundred and nine: Scorn in Sinnoh, part three
Dawn, Kenny, and Trip were now stowed away in the cargo hold of a cargo copter owned by Team Scorn, which was going to rendezvous with a few other Team Scorn at the entrance to Spear Pillar. The copters were all coming in from the three lakes in Sinnoh that the Lake Guardians resided at; Dawn and the boys were coming in from Lake Verity, where Mesprit dwells, to be specific. The three reborn trainers had actually been taken prisoner after being coerced into helping since they saw via video feed that Cynthia, the former Sinnoh Champion and the one who went to check out Lake Valor where Azelf dwells, was found and defeated (albeit it took VERY GREAT effort on the part of Team Scorn who was there to defeat Cynthia) and sub sequentially taken prisoner.
That ended up leading to Team Scorn not only acquiring from Mesprit the material they needed from it to construct a Red Chain, but also Mesprit itself, which was kept in a special pod designed to keep it from fleeing. Team Scorn had acquired those pods, all sorts of other technologies, and a few journals from where stuff that used to belong to the now defunct Team Galactic from where said items were being kept after it was all taken in various raids by inter-regional law enforcement efforts, with the detective Looker having led those efforts way back then. Well, the good guys no longer have that tech or those journals; they were now all in the hands of Team Scorn, and it was clear to the reborn trainers what exactly Team Scorn aimed to do with all of that stuff.
To summon and sub sequentially capture the legendary Pokémon Dialga.
Trip folded his arms over his chest. "Well this sucks," remarked Trip, "I have no doubt that Team Scorn has succeeded with Azelf and Uxie the same way that they've succeeded with Mesprit."
"Then Ash must have gotten a sudden headache over where he's at in Unova," Kenny remarked, "He was linked to Azelf when this business went down back when it was Team Galactic acting up. Similarly, I got a headache when Uxie was taken since I was linked to Uxie, and the sudden headache I got a few moments ago must have been a sign that Uxie was taken by Team Scorn."
Dawn nodded in agreement. "And you guys saw me go down when Mesprit was taken moments ago."
The trio soon felt the cargo copter land with a slight thud. "...We must be there," Trip remarked, "They're going to head to Spear Pillar to summon Dialga."
Dawn stood up, took a pokéball out. "We need to bust out of here, hopefully look for and rescue Cynthia, then go and stop Team Scorn from summoning and capturing Dialga. It was kind of foolish of them to not confiscate our Pokémon when we had to let them take us."
Shrugging while wearing a look of mild confusion on his face, Kenny said, "Maybe they think that we wouldn't try to-"
Kenny stopped short when he and the others heard some fighting noises outside. Things went silent for a moment, then the hatch door opened from outside. The ramp lowered, and soon Dawn and the boys saw Cynthia and Ideku standing there. "You guys!" Dawn said as she, Kenny, and Trip proceeded to walk down, "Thanks for the save just now."
"Given that I had allowed myself to be beaten and taken hostage, it's the least that I could do," Cynthia replied, her tone and expression mildly guilty.
"And where were you?" Kenny asked upon turning to face Ideku, "You were supposed to be at Lake Acuity to protect Uxie, but we got it over the video phone that Team Scorn had set up at Lake Verity that no one was at Lake Acuity to stop them."
Ideku cringed in embarrassment. "...I got lost trying to find and get to Lake Acuity," the roaming trainer admitted, clearly embarrassed over how he had failed, "I think that I was getting close to Lake Acuity when I saw some cargo copters fly up from one area then over in the direction of Mt. Coronet. I... assumed that Team Scorn had succeeded in getting to Uxie, so I decided to secretly trail the copters that I saw while riding Dragoran."
"And it's a good thing he did," Cynthia remarked, "He rescued me first, then we looked around until we found you three."
Dawn looked around as she and all the others stood outside; the copters looked mostly unguarded, unless one counted the knocked out Team Scorn members laying about the place. The gate to Spear Pillar was also opened, meaning that Team Scorn's efforts to summon Dialga so that they could capture it was probably already being kicked off. "...Cynthia," Dawn began, "Are you able to treat your Pokémon's injuries at least enough to try to help us fight back?"
Cynthia gently shook her head. "...I'm sorry, but I don't have any medicines on hand. All of my Pokémon are still out of it."
"If we supply you with the necessary medicines," Trip began, "Can you treat your Pokémon and then rush to meet us at Spear Pillar?" Cynthia nodded in agreement, then she was supplied six Max Revives and six Max Elixers by the other four trainers. To Dawn, Kenny, and Ideku, Trip said, "Looks like we need to go stop Team Scorn from summoning Dialga, huh?"
"The boys and I will go on ahead," Dawn said to Cynthia, "You try catching up when you can!" Cynthia nodded in agreement, then went about treating the injuries of her Pokémon as Dawn, Kenny, Trip, and Ideku rushed over to Spear Pillar to confront Team Scorn and, hopefully, stop them from trying to summon Dialga so that they could capture it for their own nefarious schemes.
The four heroes went down the stairs leading down to where Spear Pillar was, hoping that things weren't too late for them. Eventually, they reached the bottom of the stairs and proceeded to make their way over to where they saw Team Scorn preparing to summon Dialga. They had everything that Team Galactic before them had back when Sinnoh's native villainous team had summoned Dialga and Palkia, even had it set up same as back then. The journals must have detailed everything rather well for them. The only difference here compared to late time was the fact that the Lustrous Orb wasn't involved, given that back when Team Galactic had been acting up, Dawn ended up capturing Palkia and got the Lustrous Orb to give to the legendary dragon.
The heroes saw many Team Scorn members standing around, many of which look exhausted. Few of the grunts looked alright, and fewer still of the command that was present looked able to go; Brother and Ninja were both looking tired but could fight if need be, Zed (who was looking smug) and Kenji were fine, as were Katou, Felecia, Goemon, and Akari. However, the heroes aside from Trip who didn't recognize the person wearing the power glove like the one Cyrus of Team Galactic wore long ago were all shocked to see said person wearing said power glove, stepping forward ready to summon the legendary Pokémon Dialga into the world so that she may capture it and use it to help further Team Scorn's goals, given that she was clearly wearing a unique Team Scorn outfit.
"AYANE!" Ideku yelled, out of shock, anger, heartbreak. Having heard that familiar to her male voice cry out to her, Ayane turned around, showing off her unique Team Scorn outfit; it was essentially the same as the uniform she wore as a student of Blackthorn City Academy, simply pallet swapped to have the colors of Team Scorn. The Team Scorn insignia patch was over the left pec area of her dark blue blazer jacket. In addition to that, Ayane's blazer had yellow stripes, one thin and one thick, on each side of the front flaps of her blazer, she wore a dark blue dress tie, a yellow dress shirt under her blazer, dark blue skirt, yellow tights, and dark blue slip on shoes.
Dawn and Kenny were likewise taken aback by seeing the former Blackthorn City Academy student now a member of Team Scorn. Trip, being the only one in the dark here, looked confused. "...Umm, do you guys know her?" Trip asked his companions while pointing at Ayane.
"Yeah," Dawn said, "Kenny and I encountered Ayane back in Blackthorn City in the Johto region. She was expelled from a local elite trainer school because she stood up to a teacher who didn't like being stood up to, then left Blackthorn City after Team Scorn's attack there because she got a job offer that paid better than the job she had at a local cafe." The Champion of Sinnoh glared right at Ayane. "...I see now that said job offer was being an officer in the very organization that had attacked Blackthorn City and tried to raze the school that expelled you to the ground."
Ayane nodded in the affirmative. "...Yeah," Ayane began as the rest of Team Scorn who was there stood by, "Pretty lucrative, actually."
"Then what about how you were at the Weather Institute in the Hoenn region?" Kenny asked, "How that Felecia bitch-"
"Hey!" Felecia exclaimed in an indignant tone.
"-Stole the Castform that you got as a gift there?" Kenny finished.
Ayane huffed in an amused tone. "Yeah, that was actually part of the plan Katou had to ensure that a Castform would get to me. The bit that you and Dawn saw was just some necessary theatrics to trick any would be heroes into not even considering suspecting me."
"But why, Ayane?!" Ideku screamed, tears running down the sides of his face from his brown eyes. It was incomprehensible to Ideku that Ayane, the cute girl with those green eyes and that green hair in a cute bob-cut, would go from hopeful girl trying to get over an unjust expulsion from school, to now being a ranking member of the very organization that had not only tried razing said school to the ground, but also attacking the city said school's located in as a whole. "Why would you go and join Team Scorn?!" Ideku continued screaming, "Why would you become a criminal?!"
"BECAUSE THAT BITCH MS. AKENO RUINED MY LIFE!"
The heroes took a surprised step back due to Ayane suddenly yelling at them, her expression a visage of fury and anguish. Calming down from the fury, Ayane went on, "...She ruined my life. All because she didn't like that I had stood up to her when she was blatantly and harshly bullying Amanda in front of me and Amanda's respective classes together." Not that anyone noticed, but Brother gripped the pommel of his katana that he had with him. "Being expelled from school like that followed me, never giving me any peace, always holding me back," Ayane said, "Every job that I had applied to following my expulsion rejected me the instant they learned of my expulsion from Blackthorn City Academy. Apparently it can be made impossible for one to get any employment if they have it on their record that they were kick out of school if the school in question in prestigious enough."
Holding up a hand, Kenny asked, "What about the job you had at that cafe? They hired you."
Scoffing bitterly, Ayane said, "Yeah, but only because I had lied about my education record. Given the track record prior to applying for that job at that cafe, I figured that it would be best for me to keep it hush hush that the high and mighty Blackthorn City Academy had kicked me to the curb because one it its teachers wanted to go about bullying special needs students uncontested."
"...I wasn't there," Trip began, "But I can tell full well that this Ms. Akeno woman is a right proper piece of work."
Jerking his head towards Ayane, Brother remarked, "The first thing that the Boss's Assistant there did after she joined Team Scorn and heard that I had decapitated that vile Akeno woman was hug me in gratitude."
The heroes were shocked by what Brother had said; not all of it, but one key part of it. "Boss's Assistant?!" Dawn nearly screamed, "What do you mean Boss's Assistant?!"
"It's as my new job title suggests," Ayane said coolly, shrugging her shoulders, "I'm the assistant to the overall leader of Team Scorn." Ayane held up the hand of hers that wore the power glove. "...Team Scorn's ultimate goal here in Sinnoh, as per my boss's word, is for us to summon Dialga so that I can capture it and use it to help fight off Dawn Berlitz and Kenny Harris if they are known to show up at future missions Team Scorn tries to carry out to stop them."
"Heh," Ideku scoffed, being sarcastic, "Your boss wants you to capture and use Dialga? Pretty generous of him or her. One would figure that the leader of a criminal organization like Team Scorn would want such a Pokémon for themselves."
Ayane's glare narrowed, her brows furrowed, as she beheld the boy she had gotten close to. "...Team Scorn's leader knows what he's doing," Ayane said, "He's a lot more careful than other team leaders. He lacks the ego that others in his position tend to have." The heroes weren't going to doubt that; villainous team bosses, when they were in the business of manipulating major legendary Pokémon, tended to use such Pokémon themselves, and as directly as possible. Cyrus of Team Galactic had personally commanded Dialga and Palkia back when Team Galactic had gotten to Spear Pillar. Team Scorn's boss was apparently trying to play it safe by having Ayane act as his proxy in using Dialga.
The assistant of Team Scorn's boss let out a troubled sigh. "...Anyway, sometime before Team Scorn came to Blackthorn City, my one co-worker at the cafe I use to work at, the very same co-worker who I ALWAYS had to bail out of trouble, found out about my expulsion from Blackthorn City Academy and was using it to blackmail me, knowing full well that our manager would fire me the INSTANT she learned of my expulsion."
"Not to mention the fact that you did technically lie during the job interview you had to get the job," Kenny pointed out.
Ayane scowled at Kenny. "You aren't helping. Anyway, then Team Scorn's attack on Blackthorn City came. The academy was attacked, fighting occurred all over the city as a whole, Ideku saves me and my co-worker who was blackmailing me, and then Team Scorn was driven out of Blackthorn City when Admin Brother and his men with him were defeated."
"Our efforts before you joined DID accomplish what Team Scorn was hoping for, ma'am," Brother spoke up.
Ayane nodded in acknowledgement. "...Yes, I suppose that they did. Now then." Ayane willed her power glove to activate and glow, starting the process of summoning Dialga into the world. Red Chain fragments on the bound Lake Guardians began glowing, as energy began to pool towards where the Adamant Orb sat. "Uxie! Mesprit! Azelf!" Ayane yelled, "Use your powers here! Use them to summon forth Dialga into this world!" The ruins themselves began glowing as a dimensional rift appeared. Machines fired beams of Red Chain energy at the rift, causing it to begin taking shape. Soon, the aspect of Dialga appeared before everyone at Spear Pillar, with a red ring appearing around it.
Not wasting any time, Ayane proceeded to will even more power from the ring around the aspect of Dialga, using her power glove, causing a blinding force of flashing light rushed entirely throughout Spear Pillar, forcing everyone to cover their eyes. When they were able to open them, they saw, to their worry, that Dialga (for a second time) had emerged fully and solidly into the world. The red ring around Dialga crumbled, and the black bolting aura around the deity of time faded out, but Dialga was still firmly, fully summoned. And ripe for the catching.
"Brother! Ninja!" Ayane called out, "You lead the others in holding off Dawn Berlitz and the boys! I have to catch Dialga!"
Not wasting any time, the rest of Team Scorn who was at Spear Pillar went in to fight off Dawn, Kenny, Trip, and Ideku. It was obvious that the forces of Team Scorn there at Spear Pillar were exhausted, given that not EVERY member aside from Ayane was fighting off the heroes. And Brother and Ninja sent out Samurott and Greninja respectively, and both of those Pokémon looked like they had both recently gone through some serious fighting. Even so, the heroes were greatly outnumbered, and that fact alone at least would buy Ayane some time.
...
With the heroes distracted by the sheer force of her boss's underlings, Ayane was free to confront and try to capture Dialga. "...Alright, I think I know what to do here," Ayane said, then called out while tossing up a pokéball, "Go, Wigglytuff!" Ayane sent out her Wigglytuff, which was her Jigglypuff before she evolved it with a Moon Stone given to her by her boss himself. "Alright, Wigglytuff," Ayane said, "Ready to help me capture a legendary Pokémon?"
"Wigg," Wigglytuff said, sounding nervous yet willing anyway, as Dialga roared at it and Ayane.
"Alright," Ayane said, right before throwing an empty pokéball at Dialga while calling out, "Go pokéball!" The pokéball flew at Dialga, took the legendary Pokémon into itself, then fell to the ground. It didn't even shake before Dialga burst forth from the pokéball, roaring angrily right before charging up and firing a Flash Cannon right at Ayane's Wigglytuff, striking it and knocking it out instantly. "Damn," Ayane said as she recalled her fainted Wigglytuff, "It worked back when I did the same to capture Wigglytuff as a Jigglypuff!" Tossing up another pokéball, Ayane said, "Go, Castform!"
Ayane's Castform, which was returned to her instantly after Felecia 'stole' it during the events at the Weather Institute in Hoenn, appeared in battle to face off against Dialga. "Use Headbutt!" Ayane ordered. Castform rushed towards Dialga to hit it with Headbutt, but Dialga conjured up an Ancient Power attack and cast it at the oncoming Castform, hitting it and knocking it out instantly. Ayane then instantly got nervous, considering that she was facing off against a legendary Pokémon, AND it had defeated all of her Pokémon.
Taking a nervous step back, Ayane said, "Maybe... maybe I should have come with pokéballs stronger than the standard red and white pokéballs..."
...
"That's it, men!" Zed declared confidently as he stood back while most of the rest of Team Scorn at Spear Pillar fought, "Help defeat those would be heroes and bring further glory to Team Scorn as-"
"Zed, you fight too!" Brother barked at him, "I am your direct superior! You will do as I order you!"
Ninja scowled in grim concern. "...Not sure how much good it'd do at this point, Brother. What forces we have here that was able to fight are about to be wiped." True enough, the reborn trainers and Ideku had done great in fighting off what members of Team Scorn they fought. Even Ninja's Greninja had been knocked out by a Thunderbolt from Trip's alpha Hisuian Goodra Todoroki, and Brother's Samurott was just downed by an Aura Sphere from Dawn's Lucario Leni.
The two Admins recalled their respective fainted Pokémon. Brother scowled in annoyance. "...Well," Brother muttered under his breath, "I bet that Captain Jack will be happy with the good news I got for him after we get out of things here."
Over where the heroes stood, they had just about finished defeating what forces of Team Scorn there at Spear Pillar were attacking them. "Alright!" Kenny cheered as his shiny Scozor Cell took out a grunt's Poochyena by using X-Scissor, "We got them on the ropes!"
"...I just hope they won't end up succeeding in buying time for Ayane to capture Dialga," Ideku said, sounding conflicted as he talked about the girl who had feeling for him, and who he had developed feelings for in return. After Ideku's Dragonite Dragoran took out a grunt's Zubat by using Dragon Claw, Ideku went on, "The last thing that the world at large needs is for Team Scorn to-"
"Guys, we need to get out of here!" Ayane yelled out in clear panic, running past all of the fighting, "I couldn't capture Dialga, and now it's starting to get antsy!" After Ayane ran out of Spear Pillar, everyone turned around and saw that Dialga was indeed starting to go on a rampage, with chaotic energy flowing out from Spear Pillar to go over Sinnoh as a whole. Team Scorn, already battered when they got to Spear Pillar and now close to being fully wiped out, withdrew all of their Pokémon that they had out and fled, following their boss's assistant.
After Team Scorn was gone, it was just Dawn, Kenny, Trip, and Ideku at Spear Pillar. The four of them beheld the raging Dialga, who was looking fit to practically undo all that there is if given even half a chance. Dawn looked around, saw where the Lake Guardians were trapped in the pods that held them, abandoned by Team Scorn in their collective panicked exodus from Spear Pillar. "Guys, we need to get the Lake Guardians out of their pods," Dawn said, "Try rousing them so that they can team up to send Dialga back!"
"...You guys handle the Lake Guardians," Trip said. He took out something from his bag that surprised Dawn, Kenny and Ideku. A Master Ball. "...I'll handle Dialga."
Without waiting for words from the others, Trip ran right at Dialga, Todoroki following along behind him as quickly as an alpha Hisuian Goodra could. "...Okay, so Trip will try to succeed where Team Scorn failed," Ideku said, "We still need to rescue the Lake Guardians!"
"Trip will cover us while we work to save the Lake Guardians," Dawn said, "Meanwhile, Kenny you go save Uxie, Ideku you go save Azelf, and I'll go save Mesprit!" The boys both agreed, and after that the three of them rushed off to go after their assigned Lake Guardians. But they had the easy job; Trip had to face off against Dialga, a legendary Pokémon that far surpassed the Lake Guardians in terms of overall power.
But Dawn had faith in her sister-brother.
...
"Todoroki, use Ice Beam!" Trip ordered. The named alpha Hisuian Goodra fired a beam of icy cold energy at Dialga, striking it and doing a little bit of damage. Dialga retaliated by using Slash, striking Todoroki but not doing as much as it would have liked. Trip smirked in amusement at the legendary Pokémon. "You aren't the only dual steel dragon," Trip muttered under his breath, more to himself than anyone or anything, even though he was muttering about Dialga. Gesturing forward, Trip called out, "Todoroki, use Dragon Pulse!"
Acting as ordered, Todoroki charged up and fired his Dragon Pulse attack at Dialga, dealing another bit of damage. Then, to the worry of Trip, Dialga charged up and fired its Roar of Time attack, striking Todoroki point blank. Even being part steel type didn't help the alpha Hisuian Goodra; it was still part dragon, and that vulnerability was what caused Todoroki to be taken down by the powerful dragon attack used against him by Dialga. "Todoroki, return!" Trip said as he swapped his defeated Goodra out. Tossing up a pokéball, Trip called out, "Alright, Myde! Let's rock it!"
After Trip's named Empoleon came out, Trip noticed that Dialga was quaking mildly. A sign it was suffering the 'need to recharge' recoil from having used Roar of Time. Trip was going to strike while the iron was hot. Since he had a Pokémon out to cover him anyway, Trip felt extra safe to toss the Master Ball he had. The Master Ball, which he got as a reward over at Silph Co. while he was going through the Kanto region in his own travels (Trip saved a high ranking Silph Co. employee's depressed teenage daughter when the girl jumped from the top of a tall building in a suicide attempt by catching the girl with Fourze's help) was Trip's out to getting Dialga under control here so that it didn't end up destroying Sinnoh in its rampage brought about by Team Scorn recklessly summoning it into the world.
Expanding the ultimate model of pokéball so he could use it, Trip threw it at Dialga while yelling, "Go Master Ball!" The Master Ball flew at Dialga, who was still stunned from having used Roar of Time. The Master Ball hit Dialga before taking it inside, then fell softly to the ground. The Master Ball shook for a few brief moments, and Trip was worried that it might actually fail, and that Dialga will burst out from it. But Trip was relieved when the Master Ball made a ping sound, indicating that it had indeed been successful in capturing a legendary Pokémon.
Trip let out an exhausted breath, called out, "Woo!" in a tired tone, then smirked in amusement as he went over to collect the Master Ball that held his newly caught Dialga. Scanning the ball with his pokédex (Dawn had previously shown him how to do it), Trip saw that his Dialga was genderless (no surprise there; it's a legendary and those tend to not have genders), had a Modest nature, and the Pressure ability. Dialga also came knowing Flash Cannon, Roar of Time, Slash, and Ancient Power. Looking at the Master Ball, Trip smirked again. "...I'm naming you Deelia," Trip said, "And I'll be working on getting some new moves under your belt."
After Trip had the pokéball containing Gypsy Danger sent to where his Pokémon are kept so he could add Deelia to his party, he was met up by Dawn, Kenny, and Ideku. The Lake Guardians, freed by the heroes and treated a bit for some minor injuries, floated about to help dissipate the last of the chaotic energy that had already begun to fade. "...So Trip," Dawn began, "Did you do it?"
"Yeah, Myde and Todoroki helped me face off against and catch Deelia," Trip replied, "But Todoroki got taken down. We need to vacate from here."
Pointing over to where the Adamant Orb laid, Kenny said, "You ought to collect that."
"Oh yeah," Trip said, running over to where the Adamant Orb sat. As Trip did that, Cynthia came running down into Spear Pillar, followed by Looker and a number of other inter-regional police. To the surprise of the heroes, Princess Salvia, followed by her servant Freesia, also came along.
Cynthia looked up at the Lake Guardians as they floated around, dissipating what remained of the chaotic energy. "...So Team Scorn was successful in summoning Dialga," Cynthia said, "I saw them take off while I was treating my Garchomp's injuries. Were they successful in capturing Dialga as well, and they fled as soon as they had it?"
"They succeeded in summoning Dialga, yeah," Trip said, getting everyone's attention partly because he was seen holding the Adamant Orb as he came walking up, "But failed to capture it. I ended up capturing it instead."
"We... have a lot to talk about," Dawn said, "But first, let's get out of here." Everyone else was in agreement, and while Looker and his fellow inter-regional police stayed to collect the tech and gear Team Scorn abandoned in their flight, everyone else proceeded to exit the Spear Pillar.
Outside of Spear Pillar, the reborn trainers, as well as Ideku, Cynthia, Salvia, and Freesia, were talking near some police vehicles as the inter-regional police were carrying the abandoned tech out of Spear Pillar. As the inter-regional police did that, the reborn trainers and Ideku caught Cynthia, Salvia, and Freesia up on what had gone down at Spear Pillar. "...Leading Trip here to capture Dialga," Dawn said as she and the boys finished up the story.
Cynthia let out a tired breath. "...So Team Scorn is now in the business of trying to capture legendary Pokémon comparable to Palkia and Giratina, which you Dawn and Kenny respectively caught. They will undoubtedly try even harder since Trip had captured Dialga."
"As evil as it is for Team Scorn to do, it's a logical plan if you think about it," Ideku spoke up, "Dawn and Kenny have used their respective legendary dragons to fight off Team Scorn. And I have no doubt that Trip will delight in unleashing Dialga upon them."
Shrugging, Trip said, "Well it would be good practice for Deelia. I kind of wanna get it to learn some new moves if I can manage it."
To the others, Ideku went on, "If Team Scorn wants to succeed in whatever plans they have, then in order to combat legendary Pokémon like Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina, they'll try looking into getting comparable legendary Pokémon of their own. That way, they can try fighting Dawn and the boys here on equal footing."
"So what can we do?" Cynthia asked.
Ideku had a look of deep, serious consideration on his face. "...I'm planning to head to the Unova region soon. Like, within a few days. I heard rumors coming from Unova that a Pokémon spoken of in Unovan legend, Zekrom, was seen flying around in the skies recently. I also got it that another sector of Team Scorn is operating in the Unova region. Chances are they may try to chase down the Zekrom rumors and, if they turn out to be true and Zekrom is there, get Ayane lined up to capture it."
"Speaking of," Kenny began, "How are you feeling about discovering that Ayane had not only joined Team Scorn, but is the assistant that directly serves Team Scorn's boss?"
The brown-haired roaming trainer let out a resigned breath. "...Not good. I had fallen for her, and then she went and joined the very villains who attacked her home. Was her flirting with me after Team Scorn's attack on Blackthorn City a lie? Was she just toying with me?"
Cynthia folded her arms over her chest. "The talk of Ayane being expelled because a teacher didn't like how Ayane had stood up to her while that teacher bullied a girl with autism, then how said expulsion made every job she applied to in Blackthorn City automatically reject her. I don't know how things work in Johto, but last I checked here in Sinnoh, all of that business is downright illegal and punishable."
"I'm glad to hear it," Dawn replied right away, "And I'm certain that Lance will launch an inquiry into the matter."
Kenny stretched his arms into the air. "...Well I don't know about all of you guys, but I think we ought to rest for a bit before making our way over to Unova. Dawn and I still have to carry out our Gym Challenge tour, and hearing it that there's active Team Scorn presence in Unova is something I at least can't ignore."
"Also," Dawn said, "Our friend Ash is in Unova right now. We can catch up with him."
Trip smirked in amusement. "Count me in. I actually went through Sinnoh, Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn, getting all the badges there, before I wanted to set my sights on my home region. Also, I just got it that Ash Ketchum is in Unova, and I really want to meet him."
Leaning towards Cynthia, Kenny harshly whispered to her, "He's a fanboy of Ash's apparently." Cynthia smiled in amusement as she held back a playfully amused laugh. The heroes were victorious this day, but they were tired. They were invited by Salvia to join her at the hotel she was staying at in Oreburgh City, to rest up there and let her servants tend to their Pokémon. The reborn trainers took the princess up on the offer, and thus followed Salvia and Freesia to the limo they had pulled up, driving straight to Oreburgh City.
As they rode, Dawn looked out the window as she saw Ideku fly off on his Dragonite. Dawn couldn't see Ideku's face given how far away he was, but she felt as if his expression was shaded and grim. No doubt the roaming trainer was troubled by seeing that Ayane had joined Team Scorn. The girl who had fallen for him, and he for her, now not only worked in Team Scorn, but she served as an assistant to the boss of Team Scorn himself. That was not something anyone can get over at the drop of a hat; it was something that took the wind out of one's sails, and Dawn had no doubt that Ideku was going to be troubled by it for quite some time.
Dawn could only imagine how Ayane's former classmates and schoolmates at Blackthorn City Academy would react upon finding out that Ayane had actually joined Team Scorn.
END, CHAPTER ONE-HUNDRED AND NINE
Author's notes;
This chapter wraps up the mini-arc where Dawn, Kenny, and Trip deal with the Team Scorn scheme in Sinnoh. Team Scorn, which now includes Ayane to the shock of Dawn and Kenny as well as Ideku, were able to fully and solidly summon Dialga into the world, but they fled when Ayane failed to capture it. The mess left to the reborn trainers and Ideku to clean up ended with Trip capturing Dialga, showing why capturing legendary Pokémon usually requires stronger gear than the standard red and white pokéball. This chapter was a bit longer than the others in this mini-arc, I know, but then again it's the final chapter in said mini-arc, and it was wrapping up some business, so one has to figure.
Anyway, in the next chapter, Dawn, Kenny, and Trip will make preparations to head off to, and actually get to, the Unova region. Stick around to see how their journey through the Unova region will go, where the reborn trainers will, among other things, meet up with Ash. That's right, folks, Ash will be coming back into the story. Maybe sooner than some of you may think. ...But not TOO soon, especially since the reborn trainers have to clear some gyms and deal with a little bit of Team Scorn trouble. Oh, I also forgot that Team Rocket's also coming back, and Team Plasma will be up their own nefarious schemes. The heroes are really going to be having their hands full over in Unova, huh?
