Episode 35: A Visit From Alola
Okay, before we begin the chapter, I thought I have the Pokémon appearing that came from Alola. It'll just be the regional forms of Pokémon that'll be showing up, not Pokémon like Rowlet and the Ultra Beasts. So, don't be disappointed in it.
On the next morning, Sora sat up and looked around. He yawned as he laid back down and saw Kairi staring back at him.
"Whao!" Sora yelled as he sat up as she giggled at him. "Come on, Kairi. That old trick?"
"I can't help myself," Kairi said. "Just wanted to surprise you since we're an official couple now." Sora puffed his cheeks as his cheeks turned pink. Kairi kissed Sora on the cheek.
"I am so gonna get you back for this," Sora said to his new girlfriend.
"I'm sure you will," Kairi teased.
After they got up, they had a pretty good breakfast and set off towards Saffron City. Ash and Leaf has joined in on their journey temporarily. As they continued on, they stumbled onto something they didn't expect to find. They found what looks like a festival.
"Hey, what's going on here?" Sora asked.
"Wait, I heard of this! This is the Alola Festival!" Leaf said.
"Alola Festival?" Kairi asked.
"That's right. It's a festival that is a sure fire way to attract Trainers towards the Alola region," Leaf said. "They must have chosen Kanto as their location this year."
"Sounds like fun," Sora said.
They all looked around and saw the different Pokémon all around.
One of them is Diglett that has three pieces of blonde hair that are on top of its head. This Pokémon is known as an Alolan Diglett.
The other is a Dugtrio has developed golden magnetic "hair". The middle body has the longest and curliest hair, while the left body has shorter blond hair and the right body has the shortest and straightest hair. They also have slightly darker body fur. This Pokémon is known as an Alolan Dugtrio.
There was also a Grimer, but it was different from the Grimer they're familiar with. It has a dark green body with a yellow streak across its lower lip that extends all around its head. It also has black space around its eyes. Inside its mouth is a blue tongue with two "teeth", which that the Muk they're familiar with has none. This is an Alolan Grimer.
There also a Muk there. This Muk is a mixture of bright color tones that consist of pink, green, and yellow with dark blue streaks separating each color; this gives the Muk the appearance of an oil slick. In addition, crystals formed by solidified toxins cover most of Muk's mouth and hands that gives Muk the appearance of having claws and sharp teeth. This is an Alolan Muk.
Also, there is a Persian present as well, but this Persian is colored a shade of dark gray. However its most noticeable distinction is its comically oversized spherical head, disproportionately large compared to its slimmer body. The gem on its head is now blue, and it has narrow, half-closed eyes and large rounded ears. This is an Alolan Persian.
Just then, they spotted something they didn't expect to see. It was a Raichu. This particular Raichu has lighter coloring and more rounded features. Its eyes are blue with yellow half-circles along the bottom. It has large yellow ears with an inner spiral toward the base and brown on the inside. These ears are thicker and less pointed than a standard Raichu's ear. In addition to its white belly, this Raichu has white markings on its paws with bright yellow lines between its digits. The stripes on its back have also turned white, and there is a small, white circular marking on each heel. The lightning bolt-shaped tip of its tail has rounded edges. By collecting its psychic power in its tail, it is able to ride it like a surfboard and float in the air.
"Rai, Raichu!" The Raichu said.
"An Alolan Raichu! So cool!" Ash said.
"Alolan Raichu, huh?" Kairi asked, taking out her Pokédex and scanned it.

The evolved form of Pikachu
Type: Electric/Psychic
The Raichu in the Alola region uses its psychic powers to channel its electricity into its body to allow it to float. This evolution only occurs when Pikachu evolves within Alola.
"Oh, she's so cute," Kairi said. She took out Raichu's Pokéball and let her Raichu out. "Look, Raichu. You got yourself a distant cousin." Kairi's Raichu looked right at her and he blushes when he sees her. Kairi's Raichu pulls out a bouquet of flowers and held them. The Alolan Raichu took them and blushed. "Isn't that cute? You got yourself a crush."
"Rai, Rai, Rai!" Raichu said as he moved right in as three Pichu came and climbed up on her.
"Are those Pichu?" Sora asked. He took out his Pokédex and scanned them.

Type: Electric
Pichu stores electricity in the sacs in its cheeks, and unleashes them when they get it gets agitated or excited. However, Pichu also hurts themselves because they're not mature enough to handle them.
"Don't Pikachu evolve from Pichu?" Sora asked.
"That's right. They're so very cute," Kairi said. The looked at Kairi's Raichu and climbed up on him. He fell on his back as they ran across him. The Alolan Raichu goes after them.
As they laughed, they spotted several Rattata, but they have black fur instead of the usual purple. Their undersides are now a darker beige color and their fur is much scruffier, leaving their whiskers as tufts that resemble a moustache. The inside of their ears is also a dark blue color. With them are Raticate, but have grown black fur to help camouflage themselves due to their nocturnal nature. They now sport a pair of squinted eyes with red irises and a face with large cream-colored cheeks that have four whiskers below them and two pairs of whiskers sprouting out. A patch on their stomach as well as the inside of their ears is a brown. Sora and Kairi took out their Pokédexes and scanned them.

Rattata did not originate from Alola, so it is said that it came aboard cargo ships and settled into Alola, turning them into the Pokémon we see today.

Type: Dark/Normal
It makes its Rattata underlings gather food for it, dining solely on the most nutritious and delicious fare.
"Rattata and Raticate," Sora said, taking out Raticate's Pokéball and let's his Raticate out. "Look at them, Raticate. Don't they look familiar to you?" Sora's Raticate goes up to the Alolan Rattata and they sniffed him. One of the Alolan Raticate tackled right into Sora's Raticate. A laugh is heard. They turned to see a young man coming towards them.
"It seems that my Raticate is saying your Raticate is a total chump," the young man said.
"Who the hell are you?" Sora asked.
"The name's Randall. And if that's what the Raticate from Kanto really looks like, then I'd hate to see what else could suck here," Randsll said. Sora scowled at him.
"Don't make fun of my Raticate," Sora said.
"Yeah, what are you going to do if I do? You going to tell your mommy on me?" Randall taunted.
"Knock it off, Randall," a girl's voice said. They turned to a girl, wearing a shirt tied to reveal a small part of her midriff and an orange long skirt with light pink flowers. With her is a Vulpix with snow white fur and ice blue paws. This Vulpix's most distinctive feature is its snow white body and its six ice blue tails which are connected by a tuft of snow white fur. On the top of its head, the Vulpix has a tuft of snow white fur which curls back and falls over its forehead at the bottom. "I swear, you're such a little boy, picking fights just for the fun of it."
"Hey, what I do is none of your business!" Randall said.
"Honestly," the girl said. She turned to the small group. "Sorry about him. He just like to start fights. My name's Lisa."
"I'm Sora, and this is Pikachu," Sora introduced.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"I'm Kairi, and this Eevee is Angel," Kairi introduced.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"I'm Ash," Ash introduced.
"And I'm Leaf," Leaf introduced. She looked right at the white Vulpix. "Is this an Alolan Vulpix?"
"Vulpix," Vulpix said.
"An Alolan Vulpix, huh?" Kairi asked, taking out her Pokédex and scanned it.

Type: Ice
These Pokémon live in packs in the snowy mountains and defend themselves with icy breath. It is said that Vulpix changed its form to adapt to the frigid climate.
"So cute," Kairi cooed.
"I also thought so," Lisa said. "Say hello, Vulpix."
"Vulpix!" The Alolan Vulpix said.
"First time I have ever seen an Alolan Vulpix in my life," Leaf said.
"Not surprising. Vulpix and its evolved form Ninetales living in Kanto have always interested me, so I came to Kanto to see them for myself," Lisa said.
"I have a Vulpix," Kairi said. Lisa went right up to Kairi.
"Really? You have a Vulpix? I wanna see! Please?" Lisa asked. Kairi giggled as she exchanged Poliwag for her Vulpix and had her sent over. "And she is." She opened the Pokéball and her Vulpix emerged from inside. The Alolan Vulpix sniffed Kairi's Vulpix and beamed. Kairi's Vulpix beamed and started to play together. "Wow, Vulpix living in Kanto are so much cuter in person!"
"That's what I have always thought about Vulpix," Kairi said.
"I'm also hoping I get to see a Ninetales with my very own eyes. I heard they're very majestic and beautiful," Lisa said.
"Especially when their fur shines like the sun," Kairi said.
"Oh, yes, that's what I'm talking about! The kind of shine you can't find in Alola," Lisa said. The girls were talking about how cute and beautiful Vulpix and Ninetales are as they sat down.
"This could be a while," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"We'll look around for a while," Leaf said. "Good luck, you two."
"See ya," Sora said.
Meanwhile, Team Rocket have arrived to the scene and they grin evilly.
"Look at this. An Alola festival is going on," James said.
"Regional form Pokémon should earn us some big points from the boss when we bring them right on his lap," Meowth said.
"They sure would," Jessie agreed. "They're going to our tickets to the big leagues, along with Pikachu."
Coming up behind them, Meowth is a light blue-gray with smaller, half-open eyes.Instead of brown markings, the tip of its tail, whiskers, digits, and the insides of its ears a whitish-gray.
"Meowth, Meowth, Meowth," the Meowth said. They turned around and saw the Meowth behind them. Meowth didn't like looking at this Meowth.
"Hey, who invited you to the party?" Meowth asked, in a hostile voice.
"James, is that a Meowth?" Jessie asked.
"It most certainly is, Jessie. It's an Alolan Meowth. And if I'm not mistaken, the Meowth in Alola is a Dark-type Pokémon," James said.
"What did that Meowth just say, Meowth?" Jessie asked.
"That Meowth just said that we're a pathetic lot," Meowth translated.
"Meowth, Meowth, Meowth, Meowth," the Alolan Meowth said.
"Hey, my coin is way shinier than yours! Take that back!" Meowth hissed.
"What did it say?" James asked.
"He says my coin is just dull pocket change compared to his, and it's less shiny than his," Meowth translated. "You're going to be sorry for opening that big yap of yours!" Meowth said, getting ready to scratch him, but the Alolan Meowth gave Meowth a scratch across the face.
"Meowth, Meowth, Meowth, Meowth," the Alolan Meowth said.
"What do you mean, 'How dare you for dirtying my claws with your face'?" Meowth hissed. "And I thought that Persian was a snob."
"Looks like Meowth has made a new enemy from that Meowth," Jessie said.
"Let's not bring it up to him," James said.
Meowth glared at his Alolan counterpart with a hateful look.
Over to Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel, they were witnessing a Pokémon battle about to begin. It was against two of the same Pokémon but different.
One is is a tall, bipedal Pokémon that resembles a palm tree. Its body and legs are light brown with thin black rings and its legs are thick with two-toed feet. There is a light yellow paw pad on each foot's underside. It has thin, green leaves sprouting from the top of its body. It has three round, light yellow heads that resemble coconuts, each with different facial expressions. This Pokémon is known as Exeggutor.
The second Pokémon is the same kind, but is much taller and slim than its the first one. It has a tail with the end being a coconut with an additional face. This is an Alolan Exeggutor.
"Exeggutor, both forms at once. And there's a battle between the two," Sora said.
"I'm at the edge of my seat!" Kairi said, taking out her Pokédex, same as her boyfriend.

Type: Grass/Psychic
Exeggutor have been called the walking jungle. Each one of Exeggutor's faces has their own expressions and personalities.

This Pokémon's psychic powers aren't as strong as they once were. The head on this Exeggutor's tail scans surrounding areas with weak telepathy. This only occurs when Exeggcute evolves in Alola.
"The battle of the regional forms is about to begin! Each Trainer will be using one Pokémon each, and there is no time limit! Let the battle begin!" The referee announced.
"Exeggutor! Use Psywave!" One of the Trainers ordered.
"Exeggutor! Use Flamethrower!" The second Trainer ordered. The Alolan Exeggutor fired Flamethrower at the Kantonian Exeggutor, covering it with flames. The Kantonian Exeggutor didn't get a chance to attack. "Use Dragon Hammer!" Alolan Exeggutor swings its neck back and then forward, slamming its heads onto the regular Exeggutor, resulting in a knockout.
"And the Kantonian Exeggutor is unable to battle! The Alolan Exeggutor wins!" The referee announced.
"I can see how they're different. Exeggutor here in Kanto can't use Flamethrower," Sora said.
"Well, being part Dragon-type can have its perks," Kairi said.
"Right," Sora said.
Next to battle is AJ and his Sandshrew. He's up against a Trainer who has a Sandshrew, but this Sandshrew has a white belly and an ice blue back. Its back resembles bricked pavement or walls albeit colored ice blue. It has a short tail, four short legs and a small head. The majority of its ice blue body is clad in steel-hard ice armor, also sporting the ice brick pattern.
"My Sandshrew is the best there is! Your wimpy Sandshrew can't hold a candle against mine!" AJ said.
"Don't count your Pokémon before the eggs hatch! My Sandshrew is the best there is!" AJ's opponent said.
"I guess nobody has told you that I'm undefeated!" AJ said.
"Let's see if you stay undefeated after this match is over," AJ's opponent said.
"Alolan Sandshrew, huh?" Sora asked, taking out his Pokédex and scanned it.

Type: Ice/Steel
Its ice-covered body lets it slide across the ground with bullet-like speed, sending its enemies flying when it hits them.
"AJ's Sandshrew is a Ground-type, but he's gonna have a hard time with his opponent since he's an Ice-type Pokémon," Kairi said.
"Yeah, but that other Sandshrew is a Steel-type Pokémon, so it's a fifty-fifty chance," Sora said.
"Sandshrew! Use Slash!" AJ ordered. AJ's Sandshrew came right at his opponent.
"Sandshrew! Use Ice Punch!" AJ's opponent ordered. The Alolan Sandshrew came at the Kantonian Sandshrew and lands an icy punch, sending him back. AJ gasped.
"What?! No!" AJ exclaimed.
"Use Blizzard!" AJ's opponent ordered. The Alolan Sandshrew unleashed a powerful blizzard from its mouth, freezing the entire battlefield. AJ's Sandshrew rolled into a ball and plowed right through it.
"We ain't going down that easily! Sandshrew! Use Metal Claw!" AJ ordered. AJ's Sandshrew got close to its Alolan counterpart, but his opponent just scoffed.
"Ice Punch!" AJ's opponent ordered. The Alolan Sandshrew lands another icy punch onto the Kantonian Sandshrew. "Use Iron Head!" The Alolan Sandshrew ran towards the Kantonian Sandshrew with its head, giving off a metallic glow. It lands a metallic headbutt, resulting in a knockout.
"The Kantonian Sandshrew is unable to battle! The Alolan Sandshrew wins!" The referee announced.
"Good work!" AJ's opponent praised.
"Shrew!" The Alolan Sandshrew beamed.
"My first loss ever," AJ said. "My undefeated title has been crushed." AJ cried. He picked up his fallen Sandshrew. "Forgive me, Sandshrew."
"Sand," the Kantonian Sandshrew said weakly. Sora and Kairi were shocked to see AJ has lost.
"Next battle please!" The referee called out.
Two Trainers came and they each had a Ninetales. One of the them is a fox-like Pokémon that possesses nine tails, hence its name. It is covered in ice blue fur with snow white legs. On top of its head is a large tuft of hair, similar to its pre-evolved form. This tuft does not curl backwards and instead shrinks backwards into two snow white "ribbons" of hair. It possesses two tufts like this (which shrink into only one "ribbon") on both sides of its ears. Its nine tails are ice blue and also shrink into one snow white ribbon each. Unlike the first one, these tails form a circle behind the Pokémon. It has majestic blue eyes not unlike those of the Alolan Vulpix. Its ears are pointed and distinctly fox-like, and it has slender legs with three-toed paws and no visible claws. They're both Ninetales.
"Next is a battle between Ninetales," Kairi said, taking out her Pokédex.
"So that's an Alolan Ninetales," Sora said, taking out his Pokédex as well.

Type: Fire
Legend has it that Ninetales came into being when nine wizards possessing sacred powers merged into one. This Pokémon is highly intelligent - it can understand human speech.

The evolved form of the Alolan Vulpix
Type: Ice/Fairy
It lives on mountains perpetually covered in snow and is revered as a deity incarnate. It appears draped in a blizzard.
"This should be interesting to see," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Ninetales! Use Ice Beam!" The first Trainer ordered.
"Ninetales! Use Flamethrower!" The second Trainer ordered.
Both Ninetales fired their attacks and it results in a blast. Both Pokémon skids backwards.
"Ninetales! Use Dazzling Gleam!" The first Trainer ordered. The Alolan Ninetales creates a rainbow-colored sphere around its body and slams into the Kantonian Ninetales.
"Ninetales! Use Will-O-Wisp!" The second Trainer ordered. A blue fireball appears in from the Kantonian Ninetales's mouth and it fires it at the Alolan Ninetales, making it burn. "Use Hex!" Dark purple wisps of energy appear around the Kantonian Ninetales, and the Alolan Ninetales becomes surrounded in purple energy, hurting it. And because the Alolan Ninetales is burned, the attack does a lot of damage. "Use Flamethrower!" The Kantonian Ninetales fired Flamethrower, hitting the Alolan Ninetales, resulting in a knockout.
"The Alolan Ninetales is unable to battle! The Kantonian Ninetales wins!" The referee announced.
"Looks like it's my turn now. Which one of you has a Kantonian Raticate to go against my Raticate?" Randall asked.
"Raticate!" The Alolan Raticate hissed.
"I'll take you up on your challenge," Sora said, stepping forward. "I owe you one for what you said about my Raticate."
"If you wanna humiliate yourself that badly, I won't stop you," Randall said.
Sora and Randall took their positions with a Raticate on each side out and ready to go.
"Battle begin!" The referee called out.
"Raticate! Use Hyper Fang!" Randall ordered. The Alolan Raticate goes right towards the Kantonian Raticate.
"Dodge with Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Sora's Raticate uses Quick Attack to dodge the Alolan Raticate's attack and dashed at his Alolan counterpart and lands a hit. "Use Flame Wheel!" The Kantonian Raticate rolled into the Alolan Raticate with Flame Wheel. "Use Crunch!" Sora's Raticate bit the Alolan Raticate on the tail.
"Raticate! Use Super Fang!" Randall ordered. The Alolan Raticate came right at Sora's Raticate with Super Fang.
"Dig!" Sora ordered. The Kantonian Raticate dug in the earth and dodged the Alolan Raticate's attack. The Kantonian Raticate came out and struck the Alolan Raticate on the mark. "Use Flame Wheel!" The Kantonian Raticate lands a hit with Flame Wheel, dealing some heavy damage. The Alolan Raticate has been taken down.
"The Alolan Raticate is unable to battle! The Kantonian Raticate wins!" The referee announced.
"I lost to this spiky-haired runt?!" Randall exclaimed in anger.
"That was amazing, Sora!" Kairi praised her boyfriend.
"Thanks, Kairi," Sora said. He chuckled.
Other battles occurred. There was a battle with a Kantonian Meowth and an Alolan Meowth.
"An Alolan Meowth?" Kairi asked, taking out her Pokédex and scanned it.
Meowth Alolan form, the Scratch Cat Pokémon
Type: Dark
Meowth aren't native to Alola, as such they were brought over as gifts to Alolan royal family in Alola. As a result, they have become the spoiled rotten.
The battle between the two Meowth went on, and it's the Alolan Meowth that won.
There was a battle between two Marowak. This Marowak has a black body. Its arms are longer and lankier compared to a standard Marowak. Its back has white skeletal marking. The middle part of its skull has a pattern that resembles the appearance of an extruded high-cylinder cap. Its bone has two light green flames constantly burning on both ends. Sora took out his Pokédex and scanned it.

The evolved form of Cubone
Type: Fire/Ghost
This Pokémon sets the bone it holds on fire and dances through the night as a way to mourn its fallen allies. This form only occurs when Cubone evolves in Alola at night.
"Marowak! Use Shadow Bone!" The first Trainer ordered. The Alolan Marowak spins its bone, with a purple flame gathering around one of the ends and a blue aura briefly flashing inside the center. It then stops spinning and strikes the Kantonian Marowak with the bone, creating a burst of both purple and blue flames once it makes contact. The Kantonian Marowak skids backwards.
"Use Bonemerang!" The second Trainer ordered. The Kantonian Marowak threw its bone at its Kantonian counterpart.
"Use Flare Blitz!" The first Trainer ordered. The Alolan Marowak taps its bone on its head one or multiple times, setting the bone on fire. It then rapidly spins the bone, before cloaking its body in the light green flames before rolling into the Kantonian Marowak, resulting in a knockout.
"The Kantonian Marowak is unable to battle! The Alolan Marowak wins!" The referee announced.
A battle between two Sandslash occurred shortly after. It is a tall, ice blue mammalian porcupine-like creature with steel-hard, ice blue crystals on its back. It has two very long claws on each "hand".
"An Alolan Sandslash," Sora said, taking out his Pokédex.

The evolved form of the Alolan Sandshrew
This is Sandslash's form after adaptation to a frigid environment. The cold air emitted by its body sharpens its icy spikes.
"Sandslash! Use Metal Claw!" The first Trainer ordered. The Kantonian Sandslash came right at the Alolan Sandslash.
"Use Metal Claw as well!" The second Trainer ordered. The Alolan Sandslash came at its Kantonian counterpart. They clashed their claws together like swords.
"Use Brick Break!" The first Trainer ordered. The Kantonian Sandslash slammed its hand in the Alolan Sandshrew, resulting in a knockout.
"The Alolan Sandslash is unable to battle! The Kantonian Sandslash wins!" The referee announced.
Team Rocket watches closely to the battles at hand.
"Such gems that sparkles like stars," Jessie said.
"The boss will bust a button when he sees these," James said.
"Okay, let's get right to it," Meowth said.
Battle between two large Pokémon is about to take place.
With one of the Trainers is a Geodude and a Graveler.
The Geodude are slate gray with black eyebrows and three-fingered hands (the middle, ring and pinky fingers are now one). This is an Alolan Geodude.
The other one is a Graveler that looks similar to its Sora's Graveler, but with a silvery sheen. It lacks defined digits on its upper limbs and has two toes on each foot rather than three. There are several small, yellowish crystals scattered across its body. This is an Alolan Graveler.
One is is a bipedal tortoise-like Pokémon with a spherical body covered by a shell of plated, green rocks. Its body is so hard that even dynamite cannot scratch it. Its head protrudes from the center of the shell. The head has a flat snout with two pointed teeth in the lower jaw and red eyes. It has short arms that have three claws and two legs with feet that have four claws in front and one in back. The head and limbs are light brown in color. This Pokémon is known as Golem.
Two crystalline formations protrude from Golem's back while what appear to be a mustache and beard are actually iron filings. Golem's arms are much shorter as well. This is an Alolan Golem.
Just when the battle was about to start, a vacuum came and started to suck up the Pokémon right into it. Pikachu and Angel could have been sucked right up along with them if Sora and Kairi didn't hold on tight. The suction ceased once the Pokémon appeared in a single cage.
"Now what?" Sora asked.
"Prepare for trouble!"
"And make it double!"
"To protect the world from devastation!"
"To unite all peoples within our nation!"
"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"
"To extend our reach to the stars above!"
"Jessie!"
"James!"
"Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light!"
"Surrender now, or prepare to fight!"
"Meowth! That's right!"
"Mime, Mime, Mime!"
"Team Rocket! Should have guessed it," Sora said.
"Give back those Pokémon now!" Kairi said.
"Sorry, but we're not in the position to negotiate with twerps," Jessie said.
"So, we will be making off with all of these Pokémon and give them to our boss as a gift," James said.
"You're not going to get away with it," Sora said.
"Oh, yes we will. We already have," Jessie said.
"Now, to swipe Pikachu, Meowth," James said.
"Presto!" Meowth said, pushing the button. The vacuum turns on and it begins to pull them in. Sora definitely held onto Pikachu, not letting go. "Hey, you were supposed to let go!"
"I hate stubborn brats! Let go of Pikachu now!" Jessie demanded.
"I don't think so, you hag!" Sora said. This ticks Jessie off.
"H-H-H-Hag? How dare you call me a hag!" Jessie roared. Jessie took out a Pokéball and threw it. "Lickitung! I choose you!" Her Lickitung came right out. "Lick some sense in that twerp!" Lickitung starts to lick Sora on the face.
"Lick me all you want, I'm letting go," Sora said.
Espeon and Umbreon have been hiding in secret and they nod to each other. Espson's eyes glows as Lickitung stopped licking Sora and starts to lick Jessie instead.
"What the hell are you doing?! Lick him, not me!" Jessie yelled.
"Okay, I'll handle this!" James said, taking out a Pokéball and threw it. "Weepinbell! Go!" His Weepinbell came out. "Grab Pikachu with Vine Whip!" Weepinbell was about to grab Pikachu, but the vines stopped before it could reach for the Mouse Pokémon, so the vines gets sent back and struck Weepinbell hard. James gave off a shocked gasp. "My Weepinbell!"
"What is going on here?" Meowth asked. The device lifts up and it hits Meowth on the head. "Aah! The gizmo's busted!"
"And so are you!" Kairi said. "Angel! Swift!" Angel fired Swift at Lickitung and Weepinbell. Just then, a flash came from nowhere and fades to find Lickitung and Weepinbell confused. Kairi and Angel were completely dumbfounded. Just then, the cages all opened by themselves, and the captured Pokémon started to make a break for it.
"You morons should know when to quit," Sora said. "And here's why. Pikachu! Use Thunderbolt!" Pikachu unleashed Thunderbolt, shocking Team Rocket and their Pokémon, sending flying.
"We were so close in easy street," Jessie said.
"And as always, we tripped at the finish line," James said.
"If I was a gambling Pokémon, I'd bet against us," Meowth said.
"We're blasting off again!" Team Rocket shouted as they flew straight up in the sky. A star twinkles in the distance.
"Good riddance to bad rubbish," Sora said.
"I'll say," Kairi said. "Just what happened to them that made their machine fail?"
"You got me," Sora said.
It turns out to be Espeon and Umbreon who played a role in their downfall with Psychic and Confuse Ray.
Meanwhile, the Alolan Meowth from before makes its way to Matori and she smiled.
"You look like a Team Rocket Pokémon to me," Matori said.
"Meowth, Meowth, Meowth," the Alolan Meowth said.
After the events of the festival, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel have met up with Ash and Leaf and continued on their way. Who knows what else will happen as the journey continues.
