Pokémon: Sinnoh no Isekai
Chapter One-hundred and twenty: Natural Combat, part one
Over in Driftveil City, the heroes made their way over to the local Pokémon gym, as a fair portion of them were aiming to challenge Clay in their respective bids to earn the Quake Badge. The group would be issuing quite a few challenges; out of Ash, Iris, Cilan, Bianca, Dawn, Kenny, and Trip, only Iris and Cilan weren't intending to challenge Clay at his gym. "...He's gonna have his work cut out for him," Kenny said about the gym leader as the heroes made their way over to the Driftveil City gym, "Mark my words."
Dawn, due to being aware of the anime from her previous life, knew that Bianca in the BW anime was collecting badges, but she was still wondering how Bianca with her current team was going to have much success against Clay. Putting that thought out of her head, Dawn remarked, "If we all move as a single group, then it'll take a while for us to progress from Driftveil City, given that five out of the seven of us are aiming to earn badges."
As the group got close to the Driftveil City gym, they saw Clay himself standing outside of the gym, talking to someone while looking like he was explaining something to that someone. Dawn, Kenny, and Trip were all surprised to see who the someone was, given that it was Ideku Badorigo, a roaming trainer who Dawn and Kenny first met in the Johto region, and who Trip first encountered during a brief trip to Sinnoh. "Ideku!" Dawn called out, cutting off the talk between Ideku and Clay and making them both turn to see the group come walking up.
"Dawn? Kenny? Trip?" Ideku said, "Well, this is certainly a surprise."
"I'll say," Clay remarked upon seeing Dawn, "I never thought that I'd get to meet Dawn Berlitz in person! You're the girl who defeated the former Sinnoh champion Cynthia and took her title! What's a trainer as notable as you doing here in Unova?"
"There's multiple reasons," Dawn replied, "Kenny, Trip, and I are aiming to challenge gyms here in Unova to earn badges, also we're fighting off the presence of Team Scorn here in Unova."
Jerking a thumb at Ash, Kenny said, "Also we're friends with Ash and we were hoping to catch up to him here."
Upon Kenny identifying Ash, Ideku focused a bit on the Kanto region native. "...So I'm guessing you're that Ash Ketchum guy I've heard a bit about."
"You know me?" Ash replied, looking mildly surprised.
"I've heard that you and some friends have helped to fight off trouble from Team Scorn here in Unova," Ideku said, "Especially your showing in Nimbasa City, where you fought a Team Scorn officer to a standstill until he took off."
Bianca scowled bitterly when Ideku mentioned the Team Scorn officer who battled Ash in Nimbasa City. "...Yeah, I have a personal reason to face that jerk the next time he and I cross paths."
Gesturing to Ideku, Dawn asked, "So I take it that you're here aiming to issue a challenge to Clay?"
"I was but he explained he can't take any challenges right now due to needing to get a hold of some Revival Herbs," Ideku said, "I offered to go find some for him, and he agreed to accept my challenge if I brought him some."
Turning to look at the heroes, Clay added, "I'll take your challenges after I'm done with the first one from Ideku." With a smirk, Clay added, "That being said, he'll have to wait until all of you have gone to try me again if I best him the first time."
"Well it's a good thing that I plan to bring my A-game," Ideku replied, returning Clay's amused smirk with one of his own, drawing a sincerely amused bark of laughter out of the Driftveil City gym leader.
Clapping her hands together, Iris said, "I got it! Why don't all of us head to the market and see if we can find some Revival Herbs there?"
"Field trip!" Kenny cheered as he took off for the Driftveil markets, forcing everyone else there aside from Clay to jog to catch up with him.
"What do you mean you can't give us any Revival Herbs?"
The combined eight heroes stood as a group when Cilan respectfully asked the man who usually sells Revival Herbs in the Driftveil market why he couldn't sell them any of the Revival Herbs that he currently had. Gesturing to the heroes, the herb salesman explained, "Sorry, but my cousin thought that my Revival Herbs were lettuce leaves and used most of them to make a salad that she then tossed out when she tasted her creation and hated the bitter taste. I only have so few Revival Herbs left, and I have customers who ordered some ahead of time coming in later to pick them all up."
Iris, folding her arms over her chest, scowled as she said, "Well that's just dumb." Iris's Axew poked out from her hair and copied Iris's movements, right down to her annoyed scowl.
"That cousin of mine is two picnics short of a sandwich, yeah," the herb salesman agreed casually, "But that's not here nor there." Holding a hand to his chin, the herb salesman said, "If your group is still jonesin' for some Revival Herbs, then might I recommend that you all go to Milos Island? Revival Herbs are known to grow there."
Turning to face the rest of the group, Ash asked, "Well, what do you guys think? Should we all go?"
"More field trip, yeah!" Kenny cheered, turning to run off again before he was stopped by a hand on his shoulder from Dawn.
Getting Kenny to focus on her, Dawn said, "Let's get directions first."
...
The heroes had to take a boat over to Milos Island, but luckily they were able to get there within due time. They were also lucky enough to charter a boat that was big enough to hold all of them, although the reborn trainers said that they could of had Tsukune, Black, and Deelia pitch in if need be. Once the group stepped foot upon Milos Island, they looked around. "Now then," Bianca said, "Time to get cracking on finding some Revival Herbs."
"You most likely won't find and live ones, dearies," an older lady's voice called out, making the group turn to see an old lady come walking up. "Things have been going on to cause the Revival Herbs growing here on Milos Island to wilt and die, I'm afraid," the old lady went on, "And the local grass Pokémon living here are showing signs of getting sick. I haven't seen any such signs in grass Pokémon brought in from outside also suffering, though."
"Do you know of anyone who can help us?" Ideku asked.
Nodding once in the affirmative, the old lady said, "Yes, I can take you to Lewis, who has a cabin up in the mountains here. He might be able to help you dearies out." The heroes then proceeded to follow the old lady up into the mountains, where they would meet this Lewis person to find out more about the Revival Herbs.
Eventually, the heroes were led to a cabin up in the mountains, where a guy who the old lady identified as Lewis stood outside of. "Oh, visitors," Lewis said as the heroes all approached, "Is there anything that I can help you with?"
"We got it that you might know what's causing the Revival Herbs growing here on Milos Island to wilt," Dawn said, "We were also hoping that you could lead us to some Revival Herbs that are still alive."
Nodding in understanding, Lewis said, "Fair enough. Why don't all of you come in? Although with such a large group, it might be a tad crowded." Everyone then went into Lewis's cabin, aside from the old lady who took off.
...
When everyone was inside of the cabin, they saw a sick looking Unovan Lilligant laying in a bed off to the side. "The nice old lady did say something about grass Pokémon living native here on Milos Island getting sick," Dawn remarked.
"It probably has something to do with strange goings on here on Milos Island," Lewis replied, "And that they're probably connected to the legend of the Forces of Nature."
"Forces of Nature?" Ash asked.
Lewis nodded in the affirmative. "You see, a long time ago, two of the Forces of Nature, Tornadus and Thundurus, fought each other in fierce combat. The third member of the Forces of Nature, Landorus, stepped in to try to get Tornadus and Thundurus to calm down and behave, but was injured as a result. A Gothorita saw what happened and used Revival Herbs to heal Landorus, allowing it to go right back in and finish things up, banishing the dueling Tornadus and Thundurus and then using its powers to restore the environment on Milos Island to a pristine state." Holding a hand to his chin, Lewis said with a contemplative look on his face, "My late grandaunt also used to tell me when I was a little kid that there's a fourth member of the Forces of Nature, but there's no official records of such a thing."
Trip, due to some knowledge he had from his previous life, had an inkling of an idea, but he kept his mouth shut on that matter for now. "Keeping to the topic at hand," Trip said, "You think that the Forces of Nature might be acting up here?"
"That... might be a possibility," Lewis replied, "I just hope that it doesn't interfere with the rain-making ceremony that's going to be performed here on Milos Island soon in the hopes of rejuvenating-" Lewis was cut off when a Gothorita entered the cabin, some dead Revival Herbs in its hands. It went up to Lewis, presented the dead Revival Herbs, and gently shook its head with a regretful look on its face. "...There's no need to be disheartened," Lewis said, "We can try again tomorrow." Looking to the heroes, Lewis remarked, "You all ought to stay here for the night. We might have to set some tents up outside if there's not enough room here in the cabin, though."
"Sounds like a plan," Cilan replied. Looking to the other heroes, Cilan said, "What do you all think?"
Ideku nodded in agreement. "It certainly would put us within range to help deal with whatever troubles might end up cropping up here." And so, the heroes all got ready to set up for staying the night. When it was time to go to sleep, Iris and Bianca made all of the guys in the group wait outside of the cabin so that they and Dawn could change into their sleepwear inside; even Lewis who owns the cabin was made to wait outside. Dawn was able to change in a bathroom so that she wouldn't have to see Iris and Bianca change and vice-versa; Dawn still felt uncomfortable changing clothes around girls, even though she's one now due to the whims of being Isekai'd.
With everyone dressed for bed, they all got to sleep. Iris and Bianca, again prioritizing their gender, saw that when there wouldn't be enough room to reasonably host everyone inside the cabin, had the guys camp out in the tents outside while they and Dawn slept inside of the cabin. Only Lewis was permitted by Iris and Bianca to sleep in the cabin, and Dawn suspected that it was only due to Lewis pointing out that it's HIS cabin. It should be noted that Dawn never had any say in what all Iris and Bianca did to manage things here.
But that's not important. Eventually, with everyone ready for bed, they all settled down for the night. In the morning, Lewis would lead them to an obelisk that he says is connected to Landorus, and that they'll try to get its attention to look into fixing things up on Milos Island.
The following morning, after everyone got up, freshened up, and had some breakfast, Lewis led the heroes to the obelisk that he said had a connection to Landorus. Lewis got to setting a fire at the obelisk while his Gothorita used Psychic to try to reach out to the legendary Pokémon. As Lewis and Gothorita tried reaching out to ask Landorus for help, Kenny said, "So how long do you figure it'll take for Landorus to pick up the call?"
"Can't say for sure," Lewis replied, "We just have to hope for the best."
As Kenny nodded in understanding, he heard Dawn speak up to him, "Kenny, get Black ready to battle."
This caused Kenny, as well as the other heroes aside from Dawn and Trip, to turn to see Dawn and Trip each with an expanded Master Ball ready. "...I'm getting a gut feeling that things might come to blows," Dawn said, "Either because Landorus is upset for some reason, or something OTHER than Landorus answers the call. That being said, Trip and I got Deelia and Tsukune ready to make any hostile legendary Pokémon behave itself."
"That..." Lewis replied, a look of resigned consideration on his face, "...Might actually be for the best. With what has been going on here on Milos Island so far, and with how-"
Lewis was suddenly cut off when a tornado shaped cloud suddenly appeared, blocking Gothorita's efforts to communicate with Landorus via Psychic. As the heroes looked up at the tornado-looking could, the legendary Pokémon Tornadus burst forth from it, roaring angrily at the heroes on the ground. Right as it roared, however, Tornadus was put in for a surprise when Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina (in its Origin Form) came out suddenly to greet it. Tornadus floated back a bit, like a person who took a step back out of shock, but his anger won out eventually, emboldening Tornadus back up.
Roaring defiantly, Tornadus conjured and cast a Hurricane attack at Tsukune, but Dawn called out, "Tsukune, counter with Spacial Rend!" Acting quicker than Tornadus did when it used Hurricane, the named Palkia conjured and cast its Spacial Rend attack, busting the Hurricane safely and effectively countering Tornadus's great effort. When it was clear to the heroes that Tornadus was too surprised to fight back for the moment, Lewis took the opportunity to try to reason with him.
"Listen, Tornadus," Lewis spoke up, "We're trying to reach Landorus so we can ask for help with setting things here on Milos Island back to normal. The local Revival Herb crops keep wilting up and dying, and the grass Pokémon who live here are getting sick. Please, if you have anything to do with any of this, stop it so that we can get things fixed around-"
A bolt of lightning struck down somewhere far from where the heroes all stood, cutting Lewis off. Looking over, Lewis said, "That bolt looks like it might have hit the monument to Thundurus! I really hope that-" Lewis was cut off when Thundurus came out of that bolt of lightning and flew right at where Tornadus was at. Sensing the coming of his rival while forgetting the humbling presence of the greater legends before it, Tornadus began to turn around and fly off to greet his old rival.
Not wanting wild legendary Pokémon messing around with each other, Dawn said, "Tsukune, keep Tornadus's attention occupied! Use Flamethrower!" The named Palkia then breathed a fiery breath weapon at Tornadus, striking him directly and pushing him down away from his intended path. "Kenny! Trip!" Dawn called out, "Can one of you have your respective dragon confront Thundurus?"
"Black, go give Thundurus a warm welcome!" Kenny ordered, prompting the named Giratina to fly over to intercept Thundurus. Upon being cut off from reaching Tornadus by the Renegade Pokémon, Thundurus went wide eyed out of surprise. But he soon collected himself, and when he did Thundurus conjured and cast a Focus Blast attack right at Black. ...Who, being Giratina which is dual dragon GHOST, was completely immune to the fighting type attack used on it. Seeing its attack have no effect on the named Giratina made Thundurus go wide eyed out of surprise again.
"...Something must have happened to cause Tornadus and Thundurus to go berserk like this," Lewis remarked, getting the heroes' attention, "We need to check out their obelisks as well, maybe something happened to them."
"And how will we deal with the rampaging Tornadus and Thundurus?" Bianca asked, "I don't think they're in the right state of mind to sit still and give us the chance to figure out what's wrong and help them calm back down!"
"Kenny and I can keep them occupied," Dawn called back, "You guys go and figure out what's wrong with-" Dawn was cut off when a strong wind blew through the area, with petals of pink glowing energy scattered through said wind. This made everyone take pause, causing them to look around to see what the source of the mysterious winds was. It was when the humans noticed that both Tornadus and Thundurus were both looking in the exact same direction that they decided to follow the lines of sight that the two legendary Pokémon were maintaining, and when they did they all saw what it was Tornadus and Thundurus were looking at, what it was that was the source of the mysterious winds.
It was a mysterious Pokémon, similar in appearance to Tornadus and Thundurus by being humanoid but the body from the waist down was replaced with a white cloud of some kind. Whereas Tornadus and Thundurus were masculine in appearence with buff, well-toned looking builds, this mysterious Pokémon looked feminine and had a more slender build. It was pink, with darker pink markings on its body, white hair that formed a heart-shaped style, it had four dark pink horns growing out of its forehead, and it had a tail that rose up, coiled around its neck twice, and the end hung over its left shoulder, with a bulbous end that kind of looked like a snake's head.
Lewis went wide eyed with shock upon seeing that mysterious Pokémon. "...So my grandaunt's stories did have some validity to them," Lewis said, "There really IS a fourth member of the Forces of Nature aside from Tornadus, Thundurus, and Landorus."
"You mean that pink thing is NOT Landorus?!" Iris nearly exclaimed, "Then what the heck is-"
"...I think I know," Trip spoke up, getting the others to turn to look at him. "...I read about it in the book Dawn brought with her to Unova," Trip went on, "A book of first hand accounts written back in the Hisuian period of Sinnoh, although the book only mentioned this new Pokémon before us in passing. I believe that this Pokémon was said in the book to be called Enamorus."
Trip began to take a step forward, ready to order Deelia to attack the now identified Enamorus, but Ideku cut him off by tossing up an ultra ball while calling out, "Tornupto, use Flamethrower on Enamorus!" Ideku's named alpha Hisuian Typhlosion came out and blasted Enamorus with Flamethrower, knocking her down and even inflicting a burn on her in the process. "Trip, you might be needed to deal with Landorus!" Ideku called out, "I'll keep Enamorus's attention occupied!" Enamorus then tried running off into a nearby valley in the area, but Ideku relentlessly chased after her, Tornupto at his side.
After Ideku had chased off after Enamorus, Iris said, "Will he be okay?"
"We can worry about Ideku after we check out the obelisks of Tornadus and Thundurus," Lewis replied, "For now, we have to get to work!" The heroes aside from Dawn and Kenny then went about their work, while Dawn and Kenny remained behind to direct Tsukune and Black in keeping Tornadus and Thundurus's attention occupied. They were all hoping that things could be resolved soon.
...
Unbeknownst to the heroes, Team Rocket was spying on them. ...Well, they WERE spying in the heroes, but they were surprised when they were met up by a group of Team Scorn members. The group consisted of twelve grunts, plus Captain Hiroaki, First Captain of Team Scorn's Longsword Sector, and his Captain's Assistant Ayana. "Grr," James growled in annoyance, "What do you wannabes think you're doing here?"
"We're on a mission to look into the legend of the Forces of Nature," Hiroaki replied, "And wouldn't you know it, all three of them have appeared here on Milos Island, in the flesh."
"Umm, actually Captain Hiroaki," Ayana spoke up, "We saw Tornadus, Thundurus, and some pink one who looks nothing like what the book I got said about Landorus. I think that might be some up until now unknown fourth member of the Forces of Nature."
Pointing an accusing finger at Ayana, Jessie snapped, "Zip it, lardload! So what if there's one more legendary Pokémon involved than what was originally anticipated? That just means all the more of a payday for the boys and I in Team Rocket!"
Counting off of his fingers, Hiroaki said, "One, making fun of Ayana's weight was totally uncalled for, and two, it'll be Team Scorn who will collect on the Forces of Nature! Team Rocket is nothing more than a fading fad!"
"Oh you did NOT just insult Team Rocket!" Meowth scowled, readying his claws for a fight.
Scoffing, Hiroaki said, "I don't have the time for this." Pointing to three of the grunts, Hiroaki said, "You three, keep our unwanted guests from Team Rocket here busy." Pointing to a fourth grunt, Hiroaki said, "You, go after the trainer who was seen chasing the pink Force of Nature." Pointing to a female grunt and a male grunt, Hiroaki said, "You and you, you'll respectively keep an eye on the progress with Thundurus and Tornadus, then try moving in to acquire your respective targets when you believe that you can take them." Looking to the remainder of the group, Hiroaki said, "Everyone else, with me. We got the rest of the heroes here to confront."
The members of Team Scorn broke off to fulfill the roles assigned to them by the First Captain of the Longsword Sector. That left just the three grunts assigned to dealing with Jessie, James, and Meowth. Two sent out Patrats while the third sent out a Sandile. "Your group has become an old relic of the past," said the grunt with the Sandile, "Team Scorn is the way of the future!"
Jessie and James sent out a female Frillish and a Yamask respectively. "No, you wannabes," Jessie scowled, "It'll be Team Rocket who will go on to make its name known!" Without need for further words, two groups of criminals, Rocket and Scorn, rushed in to do battle with one another.
Ash, Cilan, Iris, Bianca, Trip, and Lewis discovered on the way to summon Landorus for help that a wedge from Tornadus's obelisk had been wrecked. They decided to check Thundurus's obelisk as well, but saw that it had been struck down with lightning. Probably when Thundurus himself had appeared. That being said, when the heroes reached back to Landorus's obelisk, Lewis said, "We need to summon Landorus, like, NOW. Getting Tornadus and Thundurus to behave aside, Landorus is needed to help things settle down. The sheer force of the fighting of Tornadus and Thundurus has made the surrounding sea act choppy, and there's also a forest fire burning in the distance."
"Who's to say Landorus won't ALSO act up like Tornadus and Thundurus?" Iris exclaimed out of worry.
"Trip's got Dialga out as insurance to help make Landorus agreeable," Ash said, jerking a thumb at Trip behind him. Turning around to see Trip scanning Deelia's ball with his pokédex, Ash said, "Isn't that ri-"
"How did Deelia pick those moves up already?" Trip spoke up, unknowingly cutting Ash off. Looking up, Trip saw that Ash was looking at him. "...Sorry," Trip said, "But Deelia had somehow learned Ice Beam and Earth Power, in addition to Flash Cannon and Roar of Time which it already knew. I mean, I WAS planning on looking into having Deelia learn those new moves, but now Deelia suddenly knows them for some odd reason." Trip did remember when he, Dawn, and Kenny had that time travel dream, and they saw a Dialga under Lilimon's command using Ice Beam and Earth Power. Maybe...?
Trip then shook his head, banishing that line of thought for later. "...Well either way, Deelia's got the right moveset to help deal with most any opponent." A hint of knowing appeared in Trip's expression, although everyone else failed to pick up on it. "...I'm thinking of having Deelia open with Ice Beam if Landorus ends up proving to be hostile towards us."
Lewis nodded in understanding. "Great, that might help ensure Landorus remains agreeable with us. But in any case, we need to summon Landorus." Turning to look at Iris and Bianca, Lewis asked, "Which one of you girls wants to volunteer to dress up in a shrine maiden outf-"
"MEMEMEMEME!" Bianca cut in, hopping up and down while holding a hand in the air while crying out excitedly, clearly volunteering to be the shrine maiden.
...
Within short order, Bianca was dressed up in a shrine maiden outfit. She was directed to kneel before Landorus's obelisk and call out for his help, while Lewis placed four colored orbs around Gothorita, who used its psychic powers to levitate the orbs while also strengthening the plea for help from Bianca. Suddenly, a light shot up into the sky before lighting up Landorus's obelisk on its way down when it hit said obelisk. A shadow began to emerge from the light, and soon enough it came out in full, thus revealing itself to be Landorus.
"Landorus!" Lewis called out, "We need your help!" Landorus, hearing someone call out to him, turned his attention and spotted Lewis who he saw was the person in question that was calling out to him. "Tornadus and Thundurus are fighting on Milos Island here!" Lewis went on, "A Pokémon called Enamorus had also showed up, but we're not quite sure what it's up to! My friends and I are doing what we can to get things settled, but I'm not sure how long we'll last! Please Landorus, help us to get Tornadus, Thundurus, and Enamorus to settle down!"
"All four of the Forces of Nature will be settled down," Hiroaki's voice called out although the heroes and Landorus didn't recognize it, "But under the sway of Team Scorn!"
"What was that?!" Ash swore loudly as he and everyone else looked around. Soon, they spotted Hiroaki come in, followed by Anaya and six Team Scorn grunts.
Jerking a thumb at himself, Hiroaki said, "The name's Hiroaki, and I'm the First Captain of Team Scorn's Longsword Sector!"
"We've heard of your sector before," Bianca scowled, her expression the angriest out of the heroes, "The leader of your sector killed my father!"
"Oh yeah, my cousin did tell me about that," Ayana remarked, "But then again, my cousin just so happens to be Admin Swordsman himself."
"You're related to the jerk who killed Bianca's dad?!" Iris yelled.
"Look, we're on a tight schedule here," Hiroaki said, "So just let us beat down on and take Landorus, then we'll be on our way."
Landorus growled in angered annoyance at the criminal humans before him. "Landorus," Lewis said, "Let's us fight off Team Scorn for you. We need you to save your strength to help us deal with getting Tornadus, Thundurus, and possibly Enamorus to behave." Landorus could tell full well that Lewis and the heroes were humans who could be trusted, so he floated back and kept an eye on things, clearly not intending to go anywhere.
The battle on Milos Island had just begun.
END, CHAPTER ONE-HUNDRED AND TWENTY
Author's notes;
I was able to cover basically all of the events of BW059 and technically the first little bits of BW060, but even so I knew ahead of time this was going to be a two parter. Extra heroes in the group aside, there's also Enamorus showing up even though she didn't show up in the actual episodes, and Team Scorn showed up as well to throw a wrench into Team Rocket's plans for the Forces of Nature here. All of that is going to add at least one additional layer of excitement to events here, so don't turn that dial as things will continue in the next chapter.
