Episode 41: Damian's Revenge
Right after Charmander learned that his previous Damian never intended to come back, and left him to die, Charmander turned against Damian and literally burned him up. He was so angered by his humiliation of being attacked by the weak Pokémon that he abandoned, so he wanted nothing more than to get back at him and Sora because he didn't doubt Sora has added Charmander in the team by now.
"Those two nosy punks are to blame for this whole mess. Not only they stuck their noses in my business, but they also tell me how to raise Pokémon which is totally lame, but Charmander roasts me like a pot roast! My reputation has gone down the shitter, and it's all their fault! I won't stand for this! I'm going to get them back for this! No one messes with me and walks!" Damian vowed. "No one!" A dark aura seeps through his body.
Ever since then, Damian wanted nothing more than to exact his revenge on Sora and Kairi for ruining his reputation.
We go right to Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel in the town they flew in by Team Rocket's balloon. Knowing they would be looking for it and eventually find it, Sora left a note for Team Rocket for them to find it, and make it harder for them to find them.
"I can see why they like riding in that thing. They could have done if they did a better job at tying it down," Kairi said.
"Yeah, but we wouldn't gotten down pretty fast," Sora said. Kairi giggled.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"You're right. Let's go," Kairi said.
With that said, the couples take off through the town to head for Saffron City.
Several hours later, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel came across a wild Venonat. It's a different shade of purple, and has blue eyes, and the pincer is blue. Sora got ready to battle against Venonat by preparing a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Charmander!" Sora called out. Charmander emerged from inside.
"Charmander!" Charmander said.
"Charmander! Use Fire Fang!" Sora ordered. Charmander charged at Venonat with Fire Fang. Venonat dodged and started to come at Charmander with Poison Fang.
"Venonat's using Poison Fang!" Kairi gasped.
"Dodge and use Flamethrower!" Sora ordered. Charmander fired Flamethrower at the Insect Pokémon and lands a hit. Venonat fired Psybeam right at the Lizard Pokémon. Charmander is struck him with Psybeam. Venonat started to charge towards Charmander with Poison Fang. "Use Slash!" Charmander slashed at Venonat, dealing some heavy damage. Venonat has been taken down. Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it. Venonat flows inside and the Pokéball wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. Sora's Pokémon Box goes off asking him if he wants to keep Venonat. He decides to send Venonat to Professor Oak's lab. Sora decides to bring Bulbasaur and Squirtle back in exchange for Kadabra and Machop.
Meanwhile at Team Rocket HQ, there are two people in a room.
Sitting in a chair is a young man who has teal hair and similarly colored eyes. His uniform consists of an open-collared black shirt with yellow stripes and the Team Rocket logo, black pants, a white belt, white gloves and boots with a single red stripe near the top, and a black flat cap akin to the ones the Team Rocket Grunts wear.
The other one is a tall and thin young man. He has bright purple hair cut short at the sides with a large curl on top, a short purple beard, purple eyebrows and purple eyes. He wears a black jumpsuit with a yellow-gold lines and large R on the chest, elbow length silver-gray gloves and knee high silver-gray boots, all with a red stripe at the edge, and a silver belt around his waist.
"It seems things have taken a bad turn for Team Rocket. Especially when a couple of kids have meddled in our business," the tall man said.
"Team Rocket won't go down that easily, Petrel," the young man said. "Our reputation will build back up and Team Rocket will be on top of Kanto's criminal empire."
"The plan we have for Saffron City will put us up right there, Photon. When the Master Ball is complete, we can use it to capture any Pokémon without the effort of battling it first," Petrel said.
"The prototype in the Silph Co is nearly complete. Once that's done, we can test it on one of the Pokémon we've acquired," Photon said.
"Sweet," Petrel said with a smile.
Back to Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel, they made a stop to rest for the night after a long day they had on the road.
On the very next morning, they continued on after getting some deserved sleep. They made a stop to a Pokémon Center to rest their feet.
"What a day," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"Well, we have been on our feet since after we had our breakfast," Kairi said. "And we could use a break afterwards." Sora smiled and placed his arm over her shoulder.
"You're right, Kairi. Just glad you're right beside me," Sora said.
"You're kidding, right?" A girl's voice asked. The couple turned to see who said that. "That Damian guy lost another battle?"
"Yeah. He didn't used to be a loser until the Charmander he abandoned fired a Flamethrower in the face. And if that didn't do it, he's been on a major losing streak. If you ask me, that self-centered bastard got what he deserved," the second girl said.
"I still believe that guy is a Trainer. I feel sorry for any Pokémon that ends up being his," the first girl said.
"Me too. It's actually funny, because everyone can see him for the lazy loser that he is," the second girl said.
"You've said it, sister!" The first girl said.
"So, that Damian is losing some battles, huh. I'm not surprised though," Sora said.
"He should never have been allowed to train Pokémon at all. He should have realized he should care about his Pokémon more than trying to win all the time," Kairi said.
"Yeah. We lost some battles before, and it wasn't the end of the world," Sora said.
"That's right, it wasn't," Kairi agreed.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"What we learned from our journey is that we should know the limits of our Pokémon, and keep our cool in battle," Sora said.
"Damian should have known that by now," Kairi said.
"Yeah, he should," Sora agreed.
A little later, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel have left the Pokémon Center after having their Pokémon checked up as Kairi has come across a Tangela.
"Let's see here. Tangela," Kairi said, taking out her Pokédex.
Tangela, the Vine Pokémon
Type: Grass
Because Tangela's true body is not known, its whole body is covered with blue vines. When a vine breaks off, a new vine will grow in its place.
"And I know who to use against a Grass-type Pokémon," Kairi said, taking out a Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Smoochum!" Her Pokéball opened and her Smoochum emerged from inside.
"Smoochum," Smoochum said.
Tangela starts up by sending out its vines at the Kiss Pokémon.
"Dodge and use Powder Snow!" Kairi ordered.Smoochum spins around and releases a stream of powder snow. From the stream then come several snowflakes. Tangela dodges and the attack freezes a rock behind Tangela. It attacked by sending its vines at Smoochum again. "Dodge and use Ice Punch!" Smoochum dodged and lands an icy punch onto Tangela, freezing it. Kairi took out a Pokéball and threw it at Tangela. The Vine Pokémon flows inside and the Pokéball wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. Kairi's Pokémon Box goes off asking her if she wants to keep Tangela with her. She chose to send Tangela to Professor Oak's lab. "Very good, Smoochum!"
"Smooch, Smooch!" Smoochum gave Kairi a kiss on the cheek, making her giggle.
"I love you, too," Kairi said.
Over to Sora and Pikachu, they came across a Lickitung. The Licking Pokémon uses its tongue to grab a berry that resembles four pink bananas. These are known as a Nanab Berry Lickitung takes the Nanab Berry in its mouth and chewed on it before it swallowed. At first, he assumed it was Jessie's Lickitung, but he realized this Lickitung is a wild Pokémon, so he took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Elekid!" Sora called out. Elekid came out to battle Lickitung. Lickitung turned to see the Electric Pokémon in front of it. Lickitung extends its tongue at Elekid. "Lickitung's using Lick! Dodge and use Thunder Punch!" Elekid dodged and lands an electrified punch onto Lickitung. Lickitung then gave a Stomp onto Elekid. "That's one strong Stomp!" Lickitung ends up being paralyzed. Static electricity emits from Lickitung's body. "Yeah! That was your Static! I can bet some of your old opponents were sorry for touching your body! Use Seismic Toss!" Elekid grabbed Lickitung by the tail and jumped up. Elekid gave Lickitung a toss down towards the ground. Lickitung lands on the ground, beaten. Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it at Lickitung. Lickitung flows inside and the Pokéball wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. Sora's Pokémon Box goes off asking him if he wants to keep Lickitung with him. He chose to send Lickitung to Professor Oak's lab. "Yes! I got myself a Lickitung! And my new Lickitung is way better than Jessie's Lickitung."
"Pi, Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Elekid," Elekid said.
"You did great, Elekid. All those battles sure made you a strong Pokémon," Sora said, rubbing his head. He smiled.
A little later, the couples met up with each other and kissed each other.
"Make any good catches?" Kairi asked.
"I caught a Lickitung. You?" Sora asked.
"I caught a Tangela," Kairi said. "And for the record, Lickitung must be a sweet catch."
"I was thinking the same thing about Tangela," Sora said. Kairi smiled as Pikachu and Angel nuzzles each other. "How about another kiss?"
"I'd like that," Kairi said, giving Sora another kiss on the lips. Sora kisses her back. They parted lips as they heard the sound of rustling. They assumed it has to be the Heartless, but it was Damian instead. "You!"
"I've been looking forward in seeing you again, ya little do-gooders!" Damian said.
"Looking for us? Why?" Sora asked.
"It's because of you two that I'm a giant-ass laughingstock of Pokémon Trainers everywhere! You turned Charmander against me, and everyone is laughing at me! And it's all your fault!"
"Hey, it's really your fault, because you lied to your Pokémon, and he almost died because you refused to raise your Pokémon!" Sora exclaimed.
"That's right. You should be blaming yourself!" Kairi said.
"If you two just butted out, I wouldn't have bothered looking for you in the first place!" Damian said.
"What do you want with us?" Sora asked.
"Oh, it should be easy! A battle to settle the score; here and now!" Damian said, taking out a Pokéball and threw it. "Rhydon! I choose you!" His Pokéball opened and unleashed a large, gray, bipedal Pokémon with features similar to both dinosaurs and rhinoceroses. It has narrow, red eyes and two fangs in its upper jaw. On the tip of its snout is a cream-colored horn. There are several other spikes and projections on its head: on top is a spike that curves forward, two triangular points resembling ears on the sides, a wide, wavy crest under each ear, and spiky ridges on each cheek. It has a cream-colored abdomen divided into strips by thin divots. A rocky plate on its chest slightly overlaps its abdomen. There is a row of spikes down its back and they have a long tail with thin, black stripes. Sora took out his Pokédex and scanned it.
Rhydon, the Drill Pokémon
The evolved form of Rhyhorn
Type: Ground/Rock
Its brain developed after it stood up on its hind legs. Its drill horn bores tunnels through solid rock.
"A Ground and Rock-type, huh? I know which Pokémon to use against this one!" Sora said, taking out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Bulbasaur! Go!" He threw it and Bulbasaur emerged from inside.
"Rhydon! Take out that little runt with your Horn Drill!" Damian ordered. Rhydon charged at Bulbasaur with its drill-like horn spinning fast.
"Bulbasaur! Dodge and use Vine Whip!" Sora ordered. Bulbasaur dodges Rhydon's attack and smacked the Drill Pokémon in the face.
"Rhydon! Use your Dragon Rush!" Damian ordered. Rhydon's body becomes outlined in light blue. Its body then becomes surrounded in a light blue aura with lighter blue stripes of aura on the outside. Sora knew it's a powerful move and will do some damage when it hits.
"Bulbasaur! Use Razor Leaf!" Sora ordered. Bulbasaur attempts to dodge, but Bulbasaur is struck by Rhydon's attack.
"How could something big move so fast?" Kairi asked.
"Vee," Angel said.
"Finish that Bulbasaur off with your High Horsepower!" Damian ordered. Rhydon's body becomes surrounded by an orange aura and the marks on its body glow yellow. It then charges at the Seed Pokémon and slams into him with great force. Bulbasaur goes flying in the air.
"Bulbasaur!" Sora called out. Bulbasaur's bulb glows a faint yellow. Numerous yellow balls of energy appear and float around Bulbasaur's bulb as a larger ball of energy forms in front of his body. "Hey, it looks like Solar Beam." Bulbasaur fires a yellow beam of energy, landing some heavy damage on the Drill Pokémon, resulting in a knockout. Damian was angered by what he just saw.
"What?! My Rhydon lost to a weak and pathetic Pokémon like a Bulbasaur?!" Damian exclaimed. Bulbasaur went towards Sora and he pets his Pokémon.
"I didn't think you would unleash Solar Beam. That was awesome," Sora said. He called back Bulbasaur as Damian called back his Rhydon and pulled out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Your turn now, Machamp!" Damian called out. A Machamp emerged from inside and flexed its muscles. Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Your turn now, Elekid!" Sora called out. Elekid and Machamp glared at each other.
"Machamp! Use Mega Kick!" Damian ordered.
"Elekid! Use Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Elekid dashes at Machamp, landing a hit. Machamp then gave Elekid a kick, making slide on the ground. Elekid then gets back up on his feet and spins his arms around to build up energy.
"Machamp! Use your Dynamic Punch!" Damian ordered. Machamp came at Elekid with a punch attack ready to hit him.
"Dodge and use Thunder Punch!" Sora ordered. Elekid dodges and lands an electrified punch onto Machamp, making him paralyzed. Machamp backs up a little.
"Don't give in! Use Brick Break!" Damian ordered.
"Dodge and use Thunder Shock!" Sora ordered. Elekid avoids Machamp's chop attack and unleashed Thunder Shock from his body, hitting Machamp. "Use Thunder Punch!" Elekid lands a Thunder Punch onto Machamp, resulting in a knockout. Damian grits his teeth in frustration. Sora and Elekid high-five each other. Sora called back Elekid as Damian called back Machamp. He took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Sandslash! Go!" Damian called out. A Slandslash emerged from inside. Sora called back Elekid and took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Squirtle!" Sora called out. Squirtle emerged from inside.
"Sandslash! Use Crush Claw!" Damian ordered.
"Dodge and use Water Gun!" Sora ordered. Squirtle dodged Sandslash's attack and fired Water Gun. "Use Rapid Spin!" Squirtle pulls his limbs into his shell and spins around, hitting Sandslash. "Use Skull Bash!" Squirtle lowered his head and dashed right at Sandslash.
"Dodge and use Slash!" Damian ordered. Sandslash dodged and slashed at Squirtle, sending him flying. Squirtle lands on his back. He struggles to stand back up. "Use Dig!" Sandslash dug through the ground. Squirtle struggled to get back up. Sandslash emerged from underground and gave Squirtle a hard hit. This flips Squirtle on his feet. "Use Dig again!" Sandslash dug through the earth again. Sora saw this coming.
"Use Water Gun down that hole!" Sora ordered. Squirtle fired Water Gun, sending Sandslash out from the earth. "Use Rapid Spin!" Squirtle pulls his limbs into his shell and spins around, hitting Sandslash again. Sandslash hits the ground, knocked out. Damian's anger was starting to get the better of him.
"You're really becoming more of a pain in the ass, you little nerd! It's bad enough that you humiliated me, but now I'm losing?!" Damian exclaimed.
"You still haven't learned from your lesson, that I've seen that ever since the battle got started! You're still looking for shortcuts as a Pokémon Trainer! Someone should have told you that there are no shortcuts," Sora said.
"There are shortcuts, and I just took it," Damian said.
"Like I said, you haven't learned your lesson," Sora said.
"You're the one who doesn't get it! That makes you a loser in my book!" Damian said.
"And what makes me a loser?" Sora asked.
Not too far, Gary and cheerleaders approached and they watched the battle, and listening to their talk.
"You tell me that raising a Pokémon is the best way to go, but it's actually boring. If you want a strong Pokémon, you just find one and abandon the weak ones, and move on," Damian said.
Gary was appalled by what he just said.
"Sora might be a loser, but he would never take any shortcuts like this," Gary said in his thoughts.
"Wow, what you just said is wrong. Also, you're just mad just because Charmander found out what kind of person you are! And I will be honest, you had it coming a mile away! Also, raising a Pokémon is the way of being a Pokémon Trainer! I mean, Pokémon start off being weak, but they get stronger when you work with them! I met some Trainers throughout my journey, and I saw how they care about their Pokémon and was willing to work with them; Gym Leaders, members of the Elite Four, and others," Sora said.
"Are you done yet? That little speech of yours just made me sleepy. You might as well save it for someone who actually cares about all that bullshit!" Damian said. Damian took out a Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Magmar!" His Pokéball opened and Magmar emerged from inside. Sora called back Squirtle and he held his next Pokéball in his hands.
"If you're not going to let words get through to you, but this will!" Sora said. He threw his Pokéball. "Go! Charmander!" Charmander emerged from inside and stood ready for his battle. Damian looked right at Charmander, and he looked back at Damian.
"Charmander, my old Charmander," Damian said.
"Charmander has gotten stronger since your last meeting, and you're going to see it for yourself!" Sora said.
"Not if I have anything to say! Fire Punch!" Damian ordered. Magmar came right at Charmander with Fire Punch.
"Dodge and use Slash!" Sora ordered. Charmander dodged and slashed at Magmar.
"Charmander didn't know that move," Damian said.
"Use Fire Fang!" Sora ordered. Charmander came right at Magmar with Fire Fang, landing a burning bite. Magmar swings its arm around and hurls Charmander off. "Use Flamethrower!" Charmander fired his Flamethrower at the Spit Fire Pokémon.
"Show them a real Flamethrower!" Damian ordered at Charmander, but they collided to each other. It results in an explosion. Charmander and Magmar took some heavy damage from the explosion. They stare at each other.
"Magmar! Use Lava Plume!" Damian ordered. Magmar causes an explosion around it, creating a mix of smog and fire to cover the area and hits Charmander, but he is still standing on his feet. "What the? Charmander is still standing after on its feet after taking that kind of damage?!"
"Charmander! Use Dragon Claw!" Sora ordered. Charmander's hands become surrounded in a light green, claw shaped energy. It then strikes Magmar with his claw attack.
"Charmander didn't know that one either!" Damian exclaimed in shock.
"Have I made my point?" Sora asked.
"As if!" Damian shot at him. "Charmander is still a weakling to me, and it always will be!"
"Not if I have anything to say! Charmander! Flamethrower!" Sora ordered. Charmander unleashed Flamethrower at Magmar again.
"Use Flamethrower!" Damian ordered. Charmander and Magmar fired Flamethrower at each other and held on. Charmander was starting to get tired and then started to evolve. Charmander has become a Charmeleon. Charmeleon kept firing Flamethrower and it overpowers Magmar's Flamethrower and goes backwards. Magmar had been knocked out. Damian was angered by what he witnessed. "Charmander evolved. It cannot be."
"Way to go, Charmeleon!" Sora said.
"Char!" The newly evolved Charmeleon said.
"I can't believe this!" Damian said.
"You lost the battle, Damian. You have to admit he's gotten stronger," Sora said.
"There's nothing to admit! You just got lucky! That's that!" Damian said.
"What is your problem?" Sora asked.
"My problem is you! Just because you beaten me in a battle, you suddenly think you know everything! I'm not gonna forget about how you humiliated me again! I came to get even with you and that's what I'm gonna do!" Damian yelled as he is surrounded by darkness. Sora and Kairi gasped in horror as they watched.
Gary and his cheerleaders were shocked by what they were seeing. Damian has underwent a transformation. He has turned into a large Heartless. This new Heartless has yellow eyes and large claws. It has a large whip-like tail and large horns on both sides of its head. This Heartless shall be known as Rage. It roared at the couple as they summoned their Keyblades. Gary was shocked to see giant keys appearing out of nowhere. The Rage slashed at them, but they duck their heads.
Just then, is a Heartless is a cross between what appears to be an umbrella and a bat. Its body is predominantly a dark purple, but the insides of its wings and the pointy collar on its neck are pink. Its head is square-shaped with a pointy extension at the back. It has jagged ears atop its head and a jagged tail that ends in the traditional Heartless curl. These are Heartless are known as Fluttering.
Kairi spots some coming at her boyfriend.
"Sora, look out!" Kairi called out. Sora turned and he saw the Fluttering came right at him, so he slashed at the Heartless, destroying them.
"Thanks," Sora said. Kairi smiled.
Pikachu, Angel, and Charmeleon fought off the attacking Heartless. Some Shadows, Soldiers Red Nocturnes, Blue Rhapsodies, Green Requiems, and Yellow Operas appeared with some Large Bodies and Minute Bombs have appeared along with them. With them is a Heartless that is shaped like a small cannon. Its body is blue with cyan highlights and silver rivets. It has four short, sharp, silver legs, a large, silver spike on either of its sides, and a black base. The Heartless's face is a black sphere with glowing yellow eyes set in the front of the cannon's body. The actual barrel of the cannon is black and has several red designs that cause it to resemble a face, with the mouth of the cannon being the nose. It also sports a short, curled, red fuse in its back. This Heartless is known as a Cannon Gun.
There is also a Heartless that is a small, insect-like Heartless with a bulky, lilac-colored, hexagonal body. It has six short, black, spiked legs on its underside, three on either side of its body. Its face is black with a light grey area surrounding it, and sports a jagged mouth, two glowing yellow eyes, and two bent antennae, one over each eye. Its rear is black and there is a thick, zig-zagging stripe on either side of its body that is a darker shade of lilac than the rest. Its Heartless emblem is on its back. This Heartless is known as the Creepworm.
The Cannon Gun fired at the couple and Pokémon, and they get caught in the blast. Damian's Heartless came at them with its claws. Charmeleon fired Flamethrower right into the Heartless's face and slashed right at Dragon Claw. Damian's Heartless roared as it gave Charmeleon a smack with its tail, but Sora jumped towards the Heartless and slashed its tail off. The Heartless tried to slash at Sora, but he blocked it, but he goes backwards on the ground. The Heartless leapt towards Sora, but he rolls out of the way. Kairi uses her magic to deal with the other Heartless. Kairi has proven to be more skillful in magic than Sora, much as Sora is more skillful as a swordsman than Kairi.
The Rage came at Sora again, but he dodged and he gave Damian's Heartless in the chest, leaving a mark of light on the Rage and fades away. The other Heartless vanishes after the fight.
"Sora, are you okay?" Kairi asked.
"Yeah. I'm fine. You?" Sora asked.
"My heart is racing, but I'm glad you're okay," Kairi said.
Gary stood there and he smiled.
"Gotta hand it to you, Sora, I never expected you to get involve into something like this. Also, I'll never admit it, you're a good Trainer, Sora. Just don't make a habit in fighting those things," Gary said. He took his leave and his cheerleaders followed.
Night came as Charmeleon looked at the sky, thinking about Damian before he turned into a Heartless. Sora knew Charmeleon was troubled and he walked up to the Flame Pokémon.
"I know it's hard for you to go through seeing your old Trainer turn into a Heartless. It was hard to see it for myself. He never really cared about you, but you already know that," Sora said. Charmeleon looked up at Sora. "I don't know what kind of relationship you had with Damian, deep down, he knew you have gotten stronger."
"Meleon," Charmeleon said.
Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel were watching closely and they smiled, seeing the Pokémon and Trainer bonding after what have happened. Sora did feel sorry for Damian since he knew not even he deserved to become a Heartless; no one did.
