Episode 48: Team Rocket Takes Over Silph Part 2
Where we last left off, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel have finally arrived in Saffron City, and they met up with Ash and Leaf.
Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel went to the Saffron City Gym, but when they arrived, they saw it was currently closed, and the Gym Leader, Sabrina has already left for reasons unknown.
That only means, it's more time to train to be prepared. Also, Ash helps Sora with a practice battle to help him prepare for the upcoming battle.
Right when Sora and Ash were having their practice battle, a woman came running, looking for help. And that's when they learned Team Rocket is in Saffron City, and they learn about the Master Ball, a Pokéball that can catch any Pokémon without failure.
At the same time, Riku, Naminé, and Eevee have arrived and made a stop to Naminé's house. Shortly after getting acquainted with Naminé's mother, they learn Naminé's father, one of the Silph Co's employees is being held hostage by Team Rocket. Riku and Eevee left for the Silph Co, leaving Naminé with her mother.
After arriving, they battled with some Team Rocket members and freed the wild Pokémon being used in their experiment.
Now, we go right to where we last left off...
Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel tried to open some of the doors, but they were locked from the inside. They didn't have a keyhole to enter through.
"I don't know about you, but I think we should try our Keyblades to unlock them," Sora said.
"I don't think so. And you do remember what you said before about explaining on how we got in, do you?" Kairi asked.
"Right. We'd have a hard time explaining how we got in without the proper keys. And I'm gonna guess they have to be card keys," Sora said.
"Chu," Pikachu said.
"Vee," Angel added.
"Someone might have one of those," Kairi said.
"You're right. We should keep our eyes open for Team Rocket just in case," Sora said.
With that said, the couples wondered down the halls, searching for someone with a card key.
Riku is inside and he looks around for any signs of Team Rocket. Just then, a scientist spots him.
"Who are you?" The scientist asked. Riku and Eevee turned to him. "You're with Team Rocket, I just know it!"
"You got it wrong, man! I'm not!" Riku said.
"Spare me your lies!" The scientist said, taking out a Pokéball and threw it. Out came a rounded, pink, digital Pokémon that shows similarities to a drinking bird. It has a relatively flat bill and large, round eyes. Its legs are simple ovoid growths along its sides, and its tail widens towards the middle. Its bill, legs, tail, and underside are blue. "Porygon2! Use Psybeam!" Porygon2 fired Psybeam at Riku and Eevee. They dodge the attack.
"Eevee! Use Quick Attack!" Riku ordered. Eevee dashed and lands a hit onto Porygon2. "Use Swift!" Eevee fired Swift at Porygon2, landing some more hits.
Use Conversion 2!" The scientist ordered. Porygon2 gave off a glow and its entire body turned to rock. "Now Porygon2 is a Rock-type Pokémon!"
"And Rock-types can be hit by Ghost-type moves. Eevee! Use Shadow Ball!" Riku ordered. Eevee fired Shadow Ball at Porygon2, landing a hit. Porygon2 has been struck hard. "Use Shadow Ball, one more time!" Eevee fired Shadow Ball and struck Porygon2 again.
"Use Tri-Attack!" The scientist ordered. Porygon2 forms Tri-Attack and fired it at Eevee.
"Dodge and use Swift!" Riku ordered. Eevee dodges and unleashes Swift. "Shadow Ball one more time!" Eevee fired ShadowBall and it struck Porygon2, resulting in a knockout. Porygon2 reverts back to normal. "Have we calmed down?" The scientist calls back his fallen Pokémon.
"You're not with Team Rocket?" The scientist asked.
"And you just figured that out?" Riku asked.
"I apologize for the misunderstanding. I just assumed you were one of them," the scientist said.
"With what happened, who can blame you? You know where this guy is?" Riku asked, holding up a photo. The scientist looked at the photo. "Yes, I know him. He hid just the same as the rest of us after Team Rocket arrived."
"What are they after?" Riku asked.
"They're after the Master Ball," the scientist said. Riku looked at him funny.
"Master Ball? What's that?" Riku asked.
"The ultimate Pokéball. We've been developing it for many years. It's a Pokéball that can successfully capture any Pokémon without fail," the Scientist explained.
"That says a lot," Riku said. "No wonder those guys wants it that badly."
"Most of the scientists have been caught and been forced to work on it, non-stop," the scientist said.
"With that Pokéball in their hands, they can catch any Pokémon they want, and probably sell them to the highest bidder. That won't stand," Riku said.
"You don't honestly believe you can take them on, do you?" The scientist asked.
"I know I can handle Team Rocket just fine. Just keep hiding, and don't come out until it's clear," Riku said.
"Of course. And be careful," the scientist said, hiding.
Over to Ash and Leaf, they searched around for some clues, but they managed to find some of the hostages. They told them that they came to help. Most of them were skeptical, because they were just kids.
"How do we get around?" Ash asked.
"After Team Rocket came, many of the doors have been locked, so no one can get in without any card keys," one of the staff members said.
"Who has one?" Leaf asked.
"We assume it has to be someone in one of the other rooms," another staff member said. Leaf looked at Ash and he nods at her. They tried to get in, but all the doors were locked. Also, he didn't know if his Keyblade could unlock them, so he decided not to try it. He hoped Sora and Kairi didn't try that.
Speaking of which, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel found the janitor, tied up and gagged. Pikachu chewed the ropes. Sora removed the gag.
"You okay, man?" Sora asked.
"Yeah, thanks to you kids. What are you doing here, anyway? Don't you know Team Rocket is here?" The janitor asked.
"That's why we're here. You have any idea what happened to the security guards?" Sora asked.
"They used their Pokémon to overwhelm them, and everything. After that, they started to grab everyone that got in their way; me included," the janitor said.
"That's awful," Kairi said.
"Anyway, we tried to open some of the doors, but they're locked, so we can't get in," Sora said.
"You're gonna need a card key. I happen to have one," the janitor said, taking out a card key. He hands it to Kairi.
"You had one of these?" Kairi asked.
"Yep. I use it to clean, and empty out the trash bins. Just don't lose it, otherwise you won't get in," the janitor said.
"Thanks for the tip," Sora said.
"Chu," Pikachu said.
"No, thank you for the save," the janitor said. "And take care."
Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel met up with Ash and Leaf down a floor.
"Sora, Kairi. Good to see some friendly faces," Leaf said.
"You have anything we can use?" Sora asked.
"We found that some of the doors are locked, and we can't get in without a card key. You?" Ash asked.
"Funny you should ask," Kairi said, taking out a card key.
"Where did you get one of those?" Ash asked.
"We got it from one of the hostages, a janitor. Now we can get inside the rooms," Kairi said.
"Great," Ash said. "Now we can go on through."
"But Team Rocket might be using the same kind as us," Leaf pointed out.
"Yeah, you're right," Ash agreed. "That's why we should keep our eyes open for them."
"Sounds like we're very clear on the plan, Ash. Let's get cracking," Sora said.
They got set to begin their liberation mission to save the Silph Co from the clutches of Team Rocket.
Over to Riku and Eevee, they have engaged in a battle with a female Team Rocket grunt.
"You're one of the brats that's been wondering around! And you let out the Pokémon we had here!" The female Team Rocket grunt hissed.
"I'm the only one here that I know about, but your plan for the Master Ball is gonna fail," Riku said.
"Doesn't matter to me that you know or not, because you're gonna regret getting in Team Rocket's way," the female Team Rocket grunt said, taking out a Pokéball and threw it. "Zubat! Go!" Her Zubat emerged from inside and prepared to battle. Riku took out a Dusk Ball and threw it.
"Go! Haunter!" Riku called out. His Dusk Ball and his Haunter came out to battle.
"Zubat! Use Bite!" The female Team Rocket grunt ordered.
"Haunter! Use Shadow Punch!" Riku ordered. One of Haunter's fists becomes surrounded in a light and dark purple misty energy and punches through the ground. The fist then comes back up through the ground and punches Zubat. "Use Psychic!" Haunter uses Psychic and slams Zubat down on the ground. Zubat has been beaten. The female Team Rocket grunt growled.
"How dare you!" The female Team Rocket grunt said, calling back her Zubat, and took out another Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Venonat!" Her Venonat came out to battle against Haunter. "Use Psybeam!" Venonat fired Psybeam at its opponent.
"Use Psychic to send it back!" Riku ordered. Haunter blocked Psybeam and redirects the attack to its opponent, landing some heavy damage. "Use Shadow Ball!" Haunter forms Shadow Ball and sends it right at the Insect Pokémon, dealing some extra damage. She growled again and retreated.
"I won't forget this outrage," the female Team Rocket grunt said, taking off.
"Back to work," Riku said.
"Eevee," Eevee nodded with agreement.
They took off to find Naminé's father in the building. He kept on searching and searching. And he heard a sound coming from one of the rooms.
"You think you could try to get help and have us know about it?" A male voice asked.
"I don't know what you're talking about," another voice said.
"Don't play innocent with me! I know you were making that phone call earlier," the first male voice said.
Riku stuck his head in the room, and saw it was Naminé's father being held hostage by one of the Team Rocket grunts.
"What phone call?" Naminé's father asked, feigning ignorance.
"Don't play dumb with me, you! You were caught red-handed!" The male Team Rocket grunt said. Riku and Eevee snuck in. Naminé's father sees Riku, and he gave a silent shush. Naminé's father understands. This has not escaped the grunt's notice, but Riku and Eevee quickly hid under a desk, not being seen. "And what are you looking at?" He turned and saw Riku gone. He looked around. "It's nothing." He turned to Naminé's father. "So, who was it that you contacted?"
"Nobody. Nobody at all," Naminé's father said. The male Team Rocket grunt wasn't buying it.
"Not a smart idea to lie to me," the male Team Rocket grunt said.
"I'm not lying! And I didn't make any calls to anyone!" Naminé's father said. Riku turned to Eevee and nods. The Evolution Pokémon moves forward and dashed at him with Quick Attack. His hat comes flying off. Riku comes to his aide. "Thanks for the save, kid. What are you doing here?"
"I came because of your daughter, Naminé. She and your wife are worried, so I came to help," Riku said.
"Eevee," Eevee said.
"I'm grateful, son. What's your name?" Naminé's father asked.
"Riku," Riku answered.
"That's a nice name," Naminé's father said. Eevee chewed through the restraints. The male Team Rocket grunt got up and took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Sandslash! Go!" The male Team Rocket grunt called out. His Sandslash came right out. "Use Slash!" Sandslash came right at them.
"Eevee! Use Shadow Ball!" Riku ordered. Eevee fired Shadow Ball, hitting Sandslash.
"Use Poison Sting!" The male Team Rocket grunt ordered. Sandslash fired Poison Sting at Eevee.
"Use Swift!" Riku ordered. Eevee fired Swift, blocking Poison Sting.
"Use Crush Claw!" The male Team Rocket grunt ordered. Sandslash came at Eevee with Crush Claw. Sandslash came too fast for Eevee to dodge.
"Eevee!" Riku exclaimed. Eevee stood back up and stared at Sandslash. "Use Shadow Ball!" Eevee fired Shadow Ball at Sandslash.
"Use Crush Claw to smash it!" The male Team Rocket grunt ordered. Sandslash slashed at the ball of shadow. "Use Drill Run!" Sandslash came at Eevee with Drill Run.
"Dodge with Quick Attack to dodge and use Swift!" Riku ordered. Eevee fired Swift at Sandslash, dealing some damage on Sandslash.
"Use Drill Run!" The male Team Rocket grunt ordered. Sandslash jumped right at Eevee. Sora, Kairi, Ash, Leaf, Pikachu, and Angel came in, hearing the commotion. Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Krabby!" Sora called out. Krabby came out, clapping his pincers. "Krabby! Use Crabhammer!" Krabby jumped and swings his pincer at Sandslash, sending Sandslash down on the ground. The male Team Rocket grunt growled in anger.
"Why you-!" The male Team Rocket grunt said.
"Pikachu! Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu fired Thunderbolt right at the male Team Rocket grunt, shocking him. "Good work, Pikachu, Krabby." Pikachu and Krabby beamed as Krabby started to evolve. Krabby has become a Kingler. "You evolved." He turned to Riku. "So, Riku, when did you get here?"
"A little while ago," Riku said.
"Where's Naminé?" Kairi asked.
"She's at her house with her mom, so I came to help out her dad here," Riku said.
"I take it you're all Naminé's friends?" Naminé's father asked.
"Yes, we are," Sora said. "Are you alright, sir?"
"Just fine, thanks to all of you," Naminé's father said.
"We know what they're after: the Master Ball," Ash said.
"I know too. I heard some of those Team Rocket goons talking about it. I even heard that their boss is here," Naminé's father said.
"Team Rocket's boss is here?!" Sora exclaimed.
"Yes. He should be with the Silph Co's president by now," Naminé's father said. "You should find it right on the top floor. And be careful."
"On it," Sora said with a nod. Sora knew this wasn't good for them as Giovanni is in the same building as the group. But Sora knew he and Team Rocket has to be stopped at all costs.
Up to the president's office, Giovanni stood before his desk.
"It would seem that your scientists are making a very slow progress when delivering results," Giovanni said.
"My people are doing what they can, but you cannot expect great productivity on such a short time," the president said.
"Unless we speed up production," Giovanni said.
"You mean by threaten them to work hard on the Master Ball?" The president asked. "It's no secret that you plan use it to make yourselves rich." Giovanni laughed.
"Or to control the world," Giovanni said, laughing some more. The president didn't like how it came out.
Back with Sora, Kairi, Riku, Ash, Leaf, Pikachu, Angel, and Eevee entered the elevator and entered the top floor, and saw no one around.
"No guards around. Let's go," Ash said.
"Hold it!" A voice called out.
They all turned to see Gary and his cheerleaders coming out of a room down from them.
"Gary?" Sora and Ash asked.
"If you think you can just come waltzing in and clear out Team Rocket, then you losers should think again," Gary said.
"Gary, Gary, Gary! He's number one, he'll show Team Rocket that they're done!" The cheerleaders all cheered.
"Gary, this isn't the time to compete with us," Sora said.
"You're just saying that because you know I'll stand you up, Sora," Gary gloated. Sora sighed.
"Man, you cannot be freaking serious," Sora said.
Just then, Archer stepped out of the president's office and saw the group.
"So, you're the bunch of children causing trouble for us. In fact, it's insulting to know that it was the two of you who foiled our plans. We, Team Rocket will have our revenge," Archer said, taking out a Pokéball and threw it. "Koffing! Go!" His Pokéball opened and his Koffing emerged from inside. "Use Flamethrower!" Koffing fired Flamethrower at the group. They all dodged the flame attack and stood back up. Ash and Leaf went on ahead as smoke covers the whole room.
The sprinklers goes off, putting the the fire out. Sora, Kairi, Riku, Gary, Pikachu, Angel, and Eevee stood their ground as Jessie and James have come through the vents.
"We made it," James said.
"That was a tight squeeze in there," Jessie said.
"Won't the boss be pissed at us that we came here without permission, or the fact we haven't made contact with HQ like we should have?" James asked.
"He'll probably be tickled with joy when we bring Pikachu right towards him," Meowth said.
"He's right. The twerps should be heading up here, too," Jessie said. She spots the group in front of Archer. "And it looks like I was right. Look!" Jessie points at the group.
"Let's go!" Jessie and James both said as they rushed towards them. Archer turned to them and he growled.
"You three better have a good excuse that you're ignoring orders to remain with the grunts!" Archer said.
"Well, we wanted to show our loyalty to Team Rocket by assisting you in your need," Jessie said.
"I didn't request for backup, but you can make yourselves useful and help battle those kids!" Archer said.
"What we have in mind the entire time," James said, taking out a Pokéball and threw it. "Weepinbell! Go!" His Pokéball opened and Weepinbell came out. Jessie took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Lickitung! Go!" Jessie called out. Lickitung emerged from inside. "Lickitung! Use Lick!" Lickitung sends his tongue at the Pokémon.
"Pikachu! Dodge and use Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu jumped and gave Lickitung and Weepinbell quite a shock.
"Use Swift!" Kairi ordered.
"Use Shadow Ball!" Riku ordered.
Angel and Eevee fired their chosen attacks. Lickitung and Weepinbell are struck hard.
"Use Iron Tail!" Kairi ordered. Angel swings her tail at Lickitung, landing a hit. "Use Headbutt!" Angel lands a headbutt onto Weepinbell.
"Koffing! Use Gyro Ball!" Archer ordered. Koffing spins around and its body becomes surrounded by a light blue aura. It then spins into Pikachu, landing a hit.
"Angel! Use Quick Attack!" Kairi ordered. Angel dashed right at Koffing, landing a hit.
"Thanks, Kairi," Sora said with a smile.
Over to Ash and Leaf, they entered the president's office. They entered the president's office.
"Stop right there!" Ash called out. Giovanni turned to Ash and Leaf.
"Well, this is unexpected," Giovanni said.
Back to the battle between Archer, Jessie, James, Sora, Kairi, Riku, Gary, Pikachu, Angel, and Eevee, Gary took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Blastoise! Go!" Gary called out. His Blastoise emerged from inside. "Use Hydro Pump!" Blastoise fired Hydro Pump right a Team Rocket Pokémon. Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel dashed off pass Archer, Jessie, James, and Meowth. Meowth tried to stop them, but Eevee dashed at Meowth, landing a hit. He hits the wall, making a portrait fall off and lands right on him.
"Ouch!" Meowth yelped.
Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel entered the office and sees Ash's Charizard and Leaf's Venusaur were being taken down by his Kangaskhan.
"Ash, Leaf!" Sora called out. Ash, Leaf, and Giovanni.
"We meet again, as I have anticipated," Giovanni said. Sora growled.
"You guys just have to cause trouble for everyone you go. You steal Pokémon from other Trainers, and you use them to do bad things! How could you look at yourself in the mirror?" Sora asked.
"I can still see you haven't learned anything about how things work in the real world," Giovanni said.
"You're the one who doesn't get it!" Kairi said. Giovanni turned to her.
"Excuse me?" Giovanni asked.
"You think you can just take whatever Pokémon you want from others after all the love and care they were given. I can never forgive what you do!" Kairi said.
"Pokémon are just tools for business, as I have said before when we last met. You children treat Pokémon like they were human beings, when they're just things put on this planet to obey our whims," Giovanni said.
"Because they have feelings like human beings do," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"She's right. It was already bad enough you were stealing from others, but now you're using the Master Ball to catch any Pokémon you want? What low won't you go?" Sora asked.
"Pika!" Pikachu said.
"I merely forgiven you the last time, but there is no forgiveness for those who stand in my way the second time. There is no point in trying to reason with you, so instead, I shall put you into your place like I should have before," Giovanni said. "Kangaskhan, use Hammer Arm!" Kangaskhan came at Pikachu and Angel with Hammer Arm.
"Dodge!" Sora and Kairi called out. The Pokémon couple managed to dodge Kangaskhan's attack.
"Sora, Kairi, don't be careless! That Kangaskhan is very strong!" Ash said.
"Be careful, the both of you!" Leaf added.
"Use Electro Ball!" Sora ordered.
"Use Swift!" Kairi ordered.
Pikachu and Angel fired their chosen attacks at the Parent Pokémon, landing some damage on her.
Back with Riku and Gary, the Team Rocket Pokémon have been taken down.
"Blastoise! Use Hydro Cannon!" Gary ordered.Blastoise fires two powerful orbs of water from each of its cannons at Jessie, James, Meowth, and the other Pokémon. They got through the ceiling, flying.
"I can't believe we failed again, and we didn't even get to see the boss," Jessie said.
"I think that's a good thing, because he wouldn't be thrilled to see us," James said.
"Especially after this," Meowth said.
"Team Rocket's blasting off again!" Team Rocket shouted as a star twinkles in the distance. Archer growled in anger.
"This isn't over," Archer said, taking off. He makes contact with the other grunts. "Attention all Team Rocket operatives! The mission is a failure! Retreat back to base! Repeat: retreat back to base!"
Back with Giovanni and the couple, Pikachu and Angel kept on dodging Kangaskhan's attacks.
"I must admit, you're putting up a much better fight than your two friends. And you're a whole lot better than the last time, as well," Giovanni said.
"We did some training just to get here," Sora said. "Pikachu! Use Iron Tail!" Pikachu jumped and swings his tail and struck Kangaskhan.
"You use Iron Tail, too!" Kairi ordered. Eevee jumped and lands another hit with her own Iron Tail, dealing some damage.
"Use Water Pulse!" Giovanni ordered. Kangaskhan forms a ball of water and sends it at Pikachu and Angel.
"Use Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered.
Swift!" Kairi ordered.
Pikachu and Angel fired their attacks at Kangaskhan, dealing some damage to one another. Gary, Riku, and Eevee enters inside as Kangaskhan has been taken down as Pikachu and Angel are still standing, panting.
"I admit, you have grown stronger since we last met, so I shall leave," Giovanni said, calling back his Kangaskhan. "Remember this, all Pokémon exist solely to serve Team Rocket!" A helicopter comes flying by and a ladder comes down. Giovanni grabbed it and he climbed right up.
The president came out from hiding from his desk.
"So glad he's gone," the president said.
"We're just glad you're okay," Kairi said.
"The rest of them should have retreated by now anyway," Ash said.
"Indeed. Thank you for all your help, kids. I am utterly grateful for your help," the president said.
"Whatever, so I'll be off. Smell ya later, losers," Gary said, taking off as he laughed. His cheerleaders followed him.
"Well, you're still as nice as ever, Gary," Sora said in his thoughts.
A few minutes later, Ash and Leaf left the office to make sure that Team Rocket has really taken off, and Riku and Eevee left to take Naminé's father home. The international police have arrived, but they were too late. No arrests were made on that day. Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel stood with the president in his office.
"Again, thank you for what you've done," the president said. "I must give you a gift for your troubles."
"No, that's not necessary," Sora said.
"I insist," the president said, taking out a Pokéball that has a two-shade purple top forming two brighter purple circles on the sides of the top, as well as a white letter "M" printed on the top. "I want you to have this Master Ball."
"You're just giving it to me, just like that? I can't accept it," Sora said.
"I will not take no for an answer. Besides, it's a gift like I said. But I must warn you, use it wisely, because it is the only one that is made," the president said.
"I guess I'll take it then. It'll be much safer with us than with Team Rocket," Sora said.
"He's right. We can't let someone like them use it for their evil plans," Kairi said.
"Pika, Pika," Pikachu said.
"Eevee, vee," Angel said.
Now that Sora and Kairi have saved the Silph Co from Team Rocket and recieved the mysterious Master Ball as a gift, but just will Sora have to use it when the time comes? Also, how will Sora do in his upcoming Gym battle against Sabrina? Just wait and see.
