Pokémon: Sinnoh no Isekai

Chapter One-hundred and thirty-two: Double Dragon Dilemma

During the dark, cloudy early moning, two dragon Pokémon were fighting one another in the skies above while fleeing from a flock of Spearow that were chasing them. The two dragon Pokémon, Dragonite and Hydreigon, were throwing attacks at one another while trying to avoid attacks from the flock of Spearow. One Spearow on its own would never be close to a threat to either dragon Pokémon, but there were many Spearow, and Dragonite and Hydreigon were further distracted by fighting one another. Meanwhile, following along on the ground were a number of Team Scorn grunts, led by Hidaka, Fourth Captain of Team Scorn's Longsword Sector, aided by her Captain's Assistant Saori.

"We need to bring those dragon Pokémon down so we can wrangle them up," Hidaka said, "Imagine how they'll boost Team Scorn's efforts here in Unova!"

"How do we weaken them once they're low enough for us to hit while on the ground?" Saori asked.

"Earthbound Pokémon will run up to them and attack," Hidaka explained as she held up a pokéball, "While giving my Flapple here cover to hit those dragon Pokémon with Dragon Pulse without fear of getting hit ba-"

*WOOSH*

Hidaka was cut off when, above her, Hydreigon struck Dragonite down with an attack, but soon fell down after it due to injury itself because of their battle. When the group of Team Scorn members followed to see where they landed, they saw that both Dragonite and Hydreigon crashed into a nearby power plant; one nameless female grunt even saw Dragonite crash through part of a tower. An alarm went off at the power plant, and the members of Team Scorn saw loads of Magnemite fly around to check out the results of the crash.

The Fourth Captain of the Longsword Sector scoffed bitterly. "Damn it. We ought to bail. That alarm going off will get people to search around, meaning we'll be seen if we stick around." Team Scorn then recalled their Spearows before turning around and taking off.

Meanwhile, the heroes were making morning preparations over at Cynthia's villa in Undella Town. "So today we get to more training for the Pokémon World Tournament Junior Cup," Ash said, "What all do you guys have planned?"

"We ought to focus on helping your Gigalith and Steelix get used to things now that they've evolved," Kenny pointed out, "And given the sheer size of Steelix, I say that the best sparring partners for him ought to be-"

Kenny was cut off when the power suddenly cut out. As Bianca was smacking a hairdryer she was using in an attempt to get it working again, Trip said, "And the power's out. Great. I hope there's a generator somewh-"

*knock* *knock*

Trip was cut off when everyone heard a knock at the door, which Cilan answered and was greeted by the sight of an Officer Jenny. "Can... we help you?" Cilan asked, surprised to see Officer Jenny here.

"I heard that Cynthia was here, as I was hoping to get her help," Officer Jenny explained, "I figured that a trainer strong enough to once be the Sinnoh champion could come in handy. I mean, Cynthia's the strongest trainer that's available in Undella Town right now."

"Cynthia ain't in right now," Kenny replied, then went on while gesturing to Dawn, "But my main man Dawn here, who is the current Sinnoh champion, is available."

Seeing Dawn, Officer Jenny lit up with some renewed hope. "Oh! Yeah, you'll totally be a big help!"

Giving Officer Jenny a knowing look, Dawn asked, "What's the situation?"

Gesturing to Dawn, Officer Jenny explained, "Two dragon Pokémon, Dragonite and Hydreigon, have attacked the nearby power plant. We're guessing they crashed into it with their reckless battling of one another."

Dawn, thanks to her memories of the BW anime from her previous life, had an idea on what was happening, and suspected that Iris was soon going to be making a big catch. But something wasn't adding up; only Dragonite was supposed to have crashed into the power plant, yet it and the Hydreigon it was battling had crashed. This was going to warrant some investigation. Dawn was about to speak up to say she'll look into matters, but was cut off before she could do so when Iris, an indignant look of disbelief on her face, stepped forward.

"There's no way dragon Pokémon like that would cause harm like that without reason!" Iris said, "They must have been threatened by an outside party!"

Folding her arms over her chest, Officer Jenny said, "Well whatever the reason, Dragonite and Hydreigon crashing into the power plant has left everyone nearby without power. Granted, the local Pokémon Center is working just fine thanks to a generator-"

"We'll be glad to help out," Ash volunteered while stepping forward, "Getting the power plant safe and working again aside, something about what Iris said just now feels like it's got a ring of truth to it. We'll just need to take care of a few small quick things at the local Pokémon Center first."

Nodding once in understanding, Officer Jenny replied, "We'll look into some security video feeds, but there's still the matter of two dragon Pokémon at the power plant being a danger."

Gesturing to himself, Ash said, "That's why my friends and I will need to take care of a few things at the local Pokémon Center before heading over to the power plant to help out." Officer Jenny nodded in understanding before turning around to take off.

As everyone got ready to get going, Iris said, "I'm going to go help those dragon Pokémon now!"

"Hold it," Dawn said, cutting off Iris by putting a hand on her shoulder, "As much as we're all wanting to resolve things here, we can't rush into a situation involving two hostile and powerful Pokémon without making preparations. Ash has a point that we ought to handle a few small items of business at the local Pokémon Center before we head on over to the local power plant."

As much as Iris wanted to argue, given that there were dragon Pokémon who needed help right now, she had to relent here. Thus, the heroes all took off for the local Pokémon Center to make preparations to go deal with the Dragonite and Hydreigon at the power plant.

A short while later, the heroes arrived at the local power plant, having made preparations to deal with Dragonite and Hydreigon. "So Ash," Cilan began, "What Pokémon did you get Professor Juniper to send to you?"

Ash, in response, tossed up a pokéball to call out his Gardevoir; Ash's Gardevoir was now as slender and petite as the normal for her species, a sharp contrast to the plump and obese body she had when Ash had first caught her back in Sinnoh. "Wow, your Gardevoir had lost all of her excess weight, Ash!" Kenny remarked.

Nodding in agreement, Ash said, "Oh yeah, her health's back on track now. And she'll be helping with dealing with the two dragon Pokémon at the power plant."

"What do you mean got her health back on track?" Bianca asked.

"Kenny and I know since we were there when Ash caught Gardevoir," Dawn explained, "At the time that Ash had caught her, Gardevoir was actually obese, being notably fat for her species. Ash, through working with her due her noted desire to slim down, was able to help Gardevoir lose the excess weight." Looking at the now slender Gardevoir, Dawn said, "I'd say that she's at the goal weight now."

Cilan held a hand to his chin, a look of contemplation on his face. "And a partial fairy Pokémon like Gardevoir would be immensely helpful in dealing with those dragon Pokémon, Hydreigon especially as it's also part dark type."

"But what about why they're at the power plant?" Iris asked, clearly concerned, "We can't just beat down on them! We need to figure out the exact cause behind why they crashed into the power plant!"

"I want to help them as well," Ash said, "But we still have to get them under control." Meloetta gave a worried cry as it buried its face into Ash's chest. Seeing this, Ash gently patted Meloetta on the back. "Don't worry, Meloetta. We'll help everyone here, even Dragonite and Hydreigon."

"So here's the plan," Kenny said, "Ash with his Gardevoir will help wrangle up Hydreigon, meanwhile-"

"I'm going to go help Dragonite!" Iris called out, rushing right into the power plant.

Kenny let out a mildly exasperated sigh. "...Wish she'd waited until we went over the plan properly."

Everyone else ran into the power plant after Iris, and it was there that they saw Officer Jenny and two power plant workers talking about how to get into a room that's been sealed shut from the inside, with Iris standing nearby. "What's the situation?" Dawn asked as she and her friends caught up.

Turning to face Dawn and the other heroes, Officer Jenny explained, "Dragonite had sealed itself off in this room over there, and we're thinking about how to get to it. There's the air vents, but none of us can fit."

"Also," the first worker said, "Hydreigon crashed through the ceiling into the break room, and everyone here at the plant's too scared to go in there to deal with it."

Holding up a hand, Iris said, "I can crawl through the air vents and get to Dragonite to help it."

"Ash," Kenny said, "You had better take Gardevoir over to the break room to confront Hydreigon."

Nodding in understanding, Ash said, "Got it."

"Bianca, Trip, Cilan," Dawn began, "You guys go with Ash. Meanwhile, Kenny and I will help Iris go after Dragonite." Everyone nodded in understanding at their roles, before breaking off to go deal with the dragon Pokémon that crashed into the power plant. The last thing Dawn saw before crawling into the air vent after Kenny who crawled in after Iris was Ash's group going off to deal with Hydreigon.

...

Inside the break room, Hydreigon had broken up a lunch box to open it, due to smelling that there was food in it. After eating the food, Hydreigon set up a barricade to keep itself sealed up in the break room after eating before it tried going to rest. But the barricade was busted down by an Electivire, who came in and stepped off to the side as four humans, a Pikachu, a Gardevoir, and a Meloetta came into the room. Seeing that there were persons intruding on its rest, Hydreigon got up and began to cry out angrily at the intruders.

"Hydreigon, please," Ash called out, "We want to help you and Dragonite, but you guys have got to calm down first and let us hel-" Ash was cut off when Hydreigon fired a Dragon Pulse right at him. Gardevoir instantly moved to stand in the way and got hit by the Dragon Pulse, but being part fairy type granted Gardevoir immunity to the attack she took in her trainer's place. Hydreigon got angry upon seeing its attack foiled, and it proceeded to get more riled up as it got up to begin trying to fight off all of these intruders who were bothering it.

Sighing, Ash said with a hint of apology in his tone, "Fine, we'll tussle first." Pointing at Hydreigon, Ash called out, "Gardevoir, use Moonblast on Hydreigon!" Acting on command, the now slender Gardevoir conjured and cast her Moonblast attack, firing it right at Hydreigon and scoring a direct, very potent hit that knocked Hydreigon back down to the floor. Although Hydreigon's Dragon Pulse did nothing to Gardevoir, Gardevoir's Moonblast did times four super effective damage to the Brutal Pokémon, bringing it right to the edge of defeat.

Hydreigon tried pushing through the pain and fire a Dark Pulse, but was cut off when Gardevoir, on Ash's order again, blasted it with another Moonblast, straight up defeating Hydreigon. Seeing that Hydreigon wasn't getting up anytime soon, Ash took out a pokéball, expanded it, and tossed it at Hydreigon. It went into the pokéball which then fell lightly to the floor and shook for a few moments before making a ping sound, indicating capture.

"Well alright, Ash," Trip said in a tone of praise, "You caught Hydreigon!"

Going over to pick up the pokéball that held his new Hydreigon, Ash said with concern clear in his tone and expression, "I just hope that Hydreigon here, as well as Dragonite, will be willing to let Iris help them. She knows dragon Pokémon, see. She's got a certain way with them." The others nodded in agreement as they proceeded to make their way back over to the sealed off room that Dragonite was in, hoping that Iris and the others will be able to make some progress there.

...

Dawn and Kenny followed Iris into the room that Dragonite was in after successfully crawling through the vents; Dawn had to smack Kenny upside the head because, while they were crawling through the vents, he farted at her face since she was behind him. "I will be taking a shower at Cynthia's villa after all of this," Dawn said dryly after having smacked Kenny upside the head.

The heroes looked on ahead to where Dragonite was laying down, clearly trying to rest, although seeing it had visitors now it started waking up. Iris, seeing a wound on Dragonite, realized what was going on. "Dragonite's hurt," Iris said, "It must have sealed the room up in a panic so it'd have a secure place to rest and recover." Walking forward, Iris said, "Dragonite, please. We know you're hurt, and we want to-"

Iris was cut off when Dragonite tried using Flamethrower right at her, but the attack was blocked by Dawn sending Germany in to stop it with Rock Tomb. The boulders summoned for the attack only blocked Flamethrower; none of the named Garchomp's attack actually hit Dragonite. Stepping forward, Dawn said, "Dragonite! You need to calm down! We actually want to help you! But you're making things a heck of a lot more difficult!" Dragonite, still looking suspicious, turned around and used Flamethrower on part of the wall, melting a hole through which it tried to escape. Tried being the key word here, because it was then that Ash's portion of the group got back from dealing with Hydreigon.

Seeing that Dragonite was still angry, Meloetta proceeded to sing a soothing song, which ended up calming Dragonite down. "...How did handling Hydreigon go?" Dawn asked the others who just showed up.

Gesturing to Ash, Cilan explained, "Ash caught the Hydreigon, and he wants Iris to help him figure out why Hydreigon's upset." Turning to look at Dragonite, Cilan went on, "Maybe we can also figure out why Dragonite is also ups-" Cilan was cut off when Dragonite, flinching in pain due to its hurt wing, launched a Flamethrower to the ceiling, breaking away some debris that would have fallen around everyone had Ash not called for Gardevoir to stop the debris with Psychic.

Dragonite, seeing all of the debris stopped before it made a mess, looked surprised. "...Dragonite," Iris explained, "Please. Let me help you." Dragonite turned to look at Iris, who slowly walked up to Dragonite and placed her hand on Dragonite's snout. Closing her eyes, Iris was able to use her special connection with dragon Pokémon to see that Dragonite and Hydreigon were fighting each other and a flock of Spearow who were ganging up on them. Iris also saw, to her shock, a brief appearence of a few Team Scorn grunts, commanding the Spearow flock.

Taking a step back from Dragonite as Gardevoir finished safely lowering the debris, Iris said, "Dragonite and Hydreigon were attacked by Team Scorn."

"What?!" Ash exclaimed, right around the time Officer Jenny came in, followed by a few random trainers.

Stepping forward, Officer Jenny said, "Kids, step away from Dragonite! We're going to-"

"Officer Jenny," Dawn cut in, "We have reason to believe that Dragonite and Hydreigon had crashed into the power plant due to injury following being chased by Team Scorn!"

Officer Jenny, as well as the random trainers, all stepped back out of surprise. "What?!" Officer Jenny exclaimed.

A short while later, video footage was found showing Dragonite and Hydreigon, both attacking each other as well as being under attack by a flock of hostile Spearow, crashing down into the power plant. Footage from a different camera showed a bunch of Team Scorn members, led by Captain Hidaka and her Captain's Assistant Saori, commanding said Spearow flock. "...Okay, so Dragonite and Hydreigon were chased to the power plant due to being under attack from Team Scorn," Officer Jenny confirmed while everyone was at the local Pokémon Center where Dragonite and Hydreigon were being treated, "But why were Dragonite and Hydriegon fighting each other in the first place?"

Stepping forward, Iris said, "I was able to figure that out, too. As it turned out, they were fighting each other in the first place solely over food."

Folding her arms over her chest, Officer Jenny said, "So it's just a case of wild Pokémon fighting each other over food being blown way too far out of proportion because Team Scorn stuck their greedy noses into things. Fair enough. And since we got it that Dragonite and Hydreigon were chased in the direction of the power plant by Team Scorn, we can't hold their actions here against them because without Team Scorn, they probably never would have even gotten close to the power plant." Given that the case was now closed, Officer Jenny took off, but not before thanking the heroes for resolving the matter with Dragonite and Hydreigon.

After Officer Jenny had taken off, Kenny said, "Well with the matter resolved, I say that-"

"Hey, Dragonite!" Nurse Joy called out, cutting Kenny off and making him and the other heroes turn to see Dragonite forcing its way out of the treatment room. Seeing Iris, Dragonite went right up to her, causing the heroes to be alarmed, aside from Iris who just beheld the dragon Pokémon approaching her. Dragonite stopped right in front of Iris and just stood there, staring at her.

"...That Dragonite looks like he's got a viscous streak a mile long," Trip said cautiously, "Kind of weird for a Dragonite. I say we-"

Trip stopped short when Dragonite nuzzled its head against Iris before pulling back then grumbling at her while nodding his head once. "...Dragonite," Iris said, "Do you want to come with me?" Dragonite nodded his head once again, eliciting a happy cheer from Iris, who then proceeded to use a pokéball on Dragonite, successfully catching him as a result. "Hooray!" Iris cheered, "I caught a Dragonite!"

"Can you have your now Dragonite go back in to finish recieving treatment?" Nurse Joy asked, "Seriously. Ash's Hydreigon is far calmer and is willingly receiving treatment for her injuries."

"Wait a minute, her?" Kenny said in surprise. Turning to look at Ash, Kenny said, "Hydreigon is a girl?!"

Shrugging his shoulders, Ash replied, "I guess so." The heroes then all shared a group laugh, mostly due to Kenny's surprise over Hydreigon being a girl.

...

Meanwhile, the Team Rocket trio was looking over some ruins they had discovered. "Gentlemen, behold," Jessie said, "The Abyssal Ruins."

Rubbing his front paws together, Meowth said, "Our success here is so close, I can taste it!"

"Now we just need to get a hold of Meloetta," James remarked, prompting himself, Jessie, and Meowth to chuckle evilly to themselves.

Later the next morning, the heroes made their way into Lacunosa Town in order for Ash and some of the others to enter the Pokémon World Tournament Junior Cup. As Meloetta hung near Ash, the heroes went into the stadium, noticing a temporary Pokémon Center on the way inside. "Wow, we're finally here at the Pokémon World Tournament Junior Cup!" Ash exclaimed, "I can already taste that victory!"

"You'll have to pry that victory out of my fingers if you want it, Ash!" Kenny declared in a playfully challenging manner, "And that goes for everyone else ent-"

"So how about lunch together, Cynthia?"

Kenny was cut off when he and the others heard an older gentleman speak up. Turning to look, the heroes all saw Alder, the Champion of Unova, talking to Cynthia and trying to get her to have lunch with him. The heroes walk up to the Unova champion and former Sinnoh champion, getting them to turn to look at the heroes. "Oh, you guys all made it," Cynthia said, "You all looking forward to the Pokémon World Tournament Junior Cup?"

Gesturing to the others, Dawn said, "Some of them are, but I'm sitting the tournament out."

Looking to Dawn, Alder said, "You must be Dawn Berlitz, the girl who took over as Sinnoh's champion from Cynthia here. I'll admit that Cynthia can make me work in a battle if I want to win, so I bet someone like you can easily give my hide a tanning! Ah ha ha!"

Gently shaking her head, Dawn said, "Maybe in an exhibition battle to help foster good relations between Sinnoh an Unova, but not today. After all, the Pokémon World Tournament Junior cup is a time for those entering it, so they ought to be allowed their time in the spotlight." Looking to Alder, Dawn said, "Speaking of exhibition battles, I hear you'll be fighting one with the winner of the tournament."

"Which will be me, by the way," a familiar voice called out, making everyone turn to see Ideku Badorigo come walking over. It had been a while since the heroes had last seen the friendly roaming trainer from Johto, and the heroes (aside from Iris who was still steamed at him) were happy to see him.

"Ideku!" Kenny said, "I figured you'd go straight to Vertress City to prep for the Vertress Conference!"

"It's still over two and a half months away," Ideku said, "Which gives me plenty of time for training. And I figured that the Pokémon World Tournament Junior Cup would be a perfect place to get some training in."

Gesturing to Ideku, Bianca said, "You were boasting how you were going to win the tournament?"

The roaming trainer from Johto nodded in the affirmative. "Yes, and not only will I win the tournament, I'll go on to win the exhibition match with Alder." Turning to look right at Alder, Ideku said, "It'll give him a taste of what he can expect when, after I win the Vertress Conference, I take on and defeat the Unova elite four so I can take him on and win."

"Oh ho ho!" Alder laughed, "I'm sensing some fire in you!" Ideku nodded once before taking off to go get registered for the Pokémon World Tournament Junior Cup. Turning to look at the heroes, Alder went on, "I hope that the Ideku boy just now isn't the only trainer with a fire in them in the tournament! I'm wanting to see some hot, fierce battling out of everyone!" Cynthia nodded in agreement, showing she also wanted to see some fierce battling out of the competing heroes, before she and Alder took off into the dome.

After Alder and Cynthia were gone, Ash turned to look to the others. "I don't know about what Ideku said, but if he thinks he'll win, then he better watch out as I prove him wrong and win the tournament myself!"

"I'll be the one to win the tournament here," the familiar voice of Georgia the Dragon Buster, Iris's rival, called out.

"No, I will win while defeating that jerk Cilan!" Burgundy's voice called out as well.

The heroes all turned to see Georgia and Burgundy standing there, both arguing with one another. Pointing at Burgundy, Trip said, "Hey, aren't you that butler girl who's got an exaggerated and unfounded beef with Cilan?"

"No, Trip," Kenny said, "I think she's that lunch monitor who I caught impersonating an S-ranked connoisseur back at Mr. Hatterly's place when Dawn helped Marigold become official friends with a Foongus."

"I'm an actual connaisseuse, you jerk!" Burgundry exclaimed while pointing at Kenny, "And I'll be getting revenge on you for how you embarrassed me back then!"

Pointing to Georgia and Burgundy, Kenny said, "The bros here and I have fought Team Scorn members more challenging that you girls. If you both wanna have a chance, then you had better bring your A-game!"

Nodding in agreement, Trip said, "And the lads here and I aren't the only tough talent entering. Ideku Badorigo is also entering."

Burgundy and Georgia both took pause at that. "Oh yeah, I remember him," Georgia said, "He was in the Clubsplosion. Well, I'd certainly like to see him try to defeat a Dragon Buster such as myself." Georgia then turned around and took off to go get entered, with Burgundy following after her.

"We ought to get us wanting to enter into the tournament as well," Ash said, leading the heroes off over to registration to get those among them wanting to enter the Pokémon World Tournament Junior Cup... well, entered into it. After that gets taken care of, the competing heroes will be put to the test in another tournament setting to see who will walk away the winner in the end.

END, CHAPTER ONE-HUNDRED AND THIRTY TWO

Author's notes;

This chapter adapts the episode of the BW anime where Iris catches Dragonite; an important episode to adapt given one of the main characters makes an important catch. The only differences here is that the Hydreigon fighting Dragonite in the beginning ALSO crashes into the power plant, and Ash ends up catching Hydreigon, giving him another powerful Pokémon to help him with, among other things, the Pokémon World Tournament Junior Cup. Speaking of, that arc started getting adapted here, but will be covered over the next two to three chapters at least. It'll see some fierce fighting to be sure, so stick around to see how it'll play out.
