Episode 52: So Near Yet So Farfetch'd
A few days went by since Sora's encounter with James's family and his crazy fiance which has the resemblance of Jessie. They walked through a forest to do some training done.
"Ponyta! Use Fire Spin!" Kairi ordered. Ponyta fired Fire Spin right at the rock. "Use Flame Charge!" Ponyta charged at the rock, shattering it into pieces. "Good work, Ponyta." Ponyta whinnies as she started to evolve. Ponyta has evolved into a Rapidash.
"Congrats, Kairi," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"Vee," Angel said.
"Thank you, Sora," Kairi said.
"Okay, Doduo. Use Drill Peck!" Sora ordered. Doduo dashed at a tree, hitting it, making the leaves fall right off. "Nice!" Doduo then gave a loud shriek as he started to evolve. Doduo has evolved into a Dodrio. Sora took out his Pokédex and scanned his newly evolved Dodrio and scanned him.
Dodrio, the Triple Bird Pokémon
The evolved form of Doduo
Type: Normal/Flying
Each one of Dodrio's heads represents joy, sorrow, and anger. When its three heads are looking in three different directions, it is a sign it is on guard. Be wary, because Dodrio will peck you.
"Dodrio. They say two heads are better than one, but three heads are better than two," Sora said. Dodrio's nuzzles Sora with his three heads.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
After Doduo has evolved into a Dodrio, Sora has exchanged Pidgeotto, Ivysaur, Charizard, Blastoise, and Dodrio for Psyduck, Haunter, Machoke, Graveler, and Kadabra. Sora is getting some training done.
"Okay, Kadabra! Use Psybeam! Haunter! Shadow Ball! Graveler! Use Rock Slide! Machoke! Use Karate Chop!" Sora ordered. The four Pokémon got their attacks on some rocks below. So, Kadabra, Haunter, Machoke, and Graveler started to evolve. Kadabra has become an Alakazam. Haunter has become a Gengar. Graveler has become a Golem. Machoke has become a Machamp. "Wow, all that training has paid off."
Unknown to them, a boy wearing a brown shirt with a red stripe going across the chest area. He had his brown hair tied in a ponytail with a tuft of hair that stands up at the side and slanted eyebrows.
"Hm, a Pikachu, an Alakazam, a Golem, a Macham, and a Gengar. A good selection. And we got an Eevee. A good haul of Pokémon," the boy said. He turned to a Farfetch'd. "So, what do you think?"
"Far, Farfetch'd, Far," Farfetch'd said. The Wild Duck Pokémon was about to take off when the boy stopped him.
"Hold on," the boy said. That was when Officer Jenny came riding in. "Crap. Officer Jenny. We should try someone else." He and Farfetch'd took off.
"Excuse me, but do all those Pokémon belong to you?" Officer Jenny asked.
"Yeah, they do. Why?" Sora asked.
"I came to tell you to be very careful; I'm on the trail of a Pokémon thief in the area," Officer Jenny said.
"A Pokémon thief?" Kairi asked.
"Yes. The thief I'm after has a Farfetch'd in his possession, and they've been at large for quite some time. He uses his Farfetch'd to do a trick and then he switches backpacks with unsuspecting Trainers, and replaces them with rocks and rolled up newspapers," Officer Jenny said.
"Good to know, Officer Jenny," Sora said.
"If we happen to see him or that Farfecth'd, we'll let you know," Kairi said.
"You do that. In the meantime, I'll be at my booth, so come by when something happens," Officer Jenny said.
"We will," Kairi said.
With that said, the policewoman got on her motorcycle and rode off to her booth.
Meanwhile, a girl with blonde hair, tied in ponytails, wearing a pink shirt, and pink shorts, and blue shoes. She walked through the forest and sat down to rest.
"Oh, my feet are sore," the girl said.
"Farfetch'd, Farfetch'd, Farfetch'd, Farfetch'd, Farfetch'd, Farfetch'd, Farfetch'd, Farfetch'd," a voice chanted.
"Huh?" The girl asked. "What was that?"
She was a Farfetch'd doing a march with its leek in its wing.
"Farfetch'd, Farfetch'd, Farfetch'd, Farfetch'd, Farfetch'd, Farfetch'd, Farfetch'd, Farfetch'd, Farfetch'd, Farfetch'd, Farfetch'd, Farfetch'd, Farfetch'd, Farfetch'd, Farfetch'd, Farfetch'd, Farfetch'd," the Farfetch'd chanted while marching.
"Wow! A Farfetch'd! Such a rare Pokémon, and I want one!" The girl said. Farfetch'd is doing a twirl with its leek. She took out a Pokéball, but Farfetch'd just ran off. "Hey, wait! Come back!" She ran after it. She looked around for Farfetch'd. "Oh, where did you go?"
"Farfetch'd," a voice said. It turns out to be Farfetch'd, coming out from behind a rock. "Farfetch'd, Farfetch'd."
"There you are, you little rascal! I got you now!" The girl said. Farfetch'd ran off again. "Hey, come back here! You won't get away from me!" She kept chasing after Farfetch'd. "You're a fast Pokémon, I'll tell you that much, but you're not getting away from me!" She kept chasing after Farfetch'd, but she bumped into someone. It turns out to be the boy from before.
"Ow! That hurts!" The boy said after running into the girl. "I'm sorry. I wasn't looking where I was going. Here let me help you up." He took put his hand and pulled her on her feet.
"Thank you. I wasn't looking where I was going either. I was chasing after a Pokémon," the girl explained.
"Is that so?" The boy asked, handing over her bag. "Here you go."
"Thank you so much," the girl said.
"Well, I'll be going now. See ya," The boy said, running off.
"Hey wait!" The girl called to him. "Shoot, I lost track of that Farfetch'd." She kicked a pebble. A few minutes later, she walked out of the forest, and she spotted Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel. She saw the egg in Kairi's hold. "I think I can make up for my loss of Farfetch'd by challenging that girl into a Pokémon battle." She ran right towards the couple. "Hey, the girl the egg!" They stopped in their tracks. "I was wondering if you're any good in a Pokémon battle."
"I can hold up my own," Kairi said.
"Great, because I challenge yo-" the girl was reaching for a Pokéball in her backpack when she gasped. "Huh? What the hell?"
"What's the matter?" Kairi asked. The girl dumped the contents of her backpack and she gasped even louder when she saw the rocks in rolled up newspapers.
"My Pokémon! My Pokémon are gone!" The girl exclaimed. Sora and Kairi knew it was the work of the Pokémon thief in the area.
Speaking of which...
"Just like taking candy from a baby," he smiled. "Let's see what she's got." He peeked inside. "Five Pokémon? This must be all her Pokémon. Now they're mine." He laughed again.
"Farfetch'd, Far, Far!" Farfetch'd squawked.
Back to Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel, the girl explained to the couple on what happened.
"And that's what happened," the girl said.
"I don't think this was an accident," Sora said.
"You're right, Sora. It has to be that thief," Kairi said.
"Thief? No, I'm sure it was a mistake, I'm sure of it," the girl said.
"Your Pokémon were stolen; so we'll have to report this to Officer Jenny," Sora said.
"He's right. It won't do any good if we went and end up being robbed ourselves," Kairi said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
Over to the boy's camp, he tosses a Pokéball in the air and chuckled to himself.
"All too easy," the boy said.
"Farfetch'd!" Farfetch'd called out. The boy looked at the Wild Duck Pokémon.
"What is it?" The boy asked.
"Farfetch'd, Farfetch'd!" Farfetch'd said, pointing outside. The boy stepped out of the tent and saw Team Rocket in the woods.
"Hey, they look stupid enough," the boy said. "Wonder what Pokémon they've got."
Over to Team Rocket, they were walking through the woods.
"Are you sure there are Farfetch'd out here in the middle of nowhere?" Meowth asked.
"That's what Jessie and I heard," James said.
"We bag and tag one or two, and we deliver them to the boss," Jessie said.
"Farfetch'd, Farfetch'd, Farfetch'd, Farfetch'd, Farfetch'd, Farfetch'd, Farfetch'd, Farfetch'd, Farfetch'd, Farfetch'd, Farfetch'd, Farfetch'd, Farfetch'd, Farfetch'd, Farfetch'd," Farfetch'd said, doing a march.
"A Farfetch'd! We come looking for one, and one comes looking for us! For once, Lady Luck smiles on us!" Jessie said.
"This makes up for all the bad luck we've been having lately!" James said.
"He looks happy to see us! This Farfetch'd is good as ours!" Meowth exclaimed happily.
And that was the cue for the boy to come along.
"Hi! Sounds like you guys like my Farfetch'd," the boy said.
"He's your Farfetch'd?" Meowth asked.
"It already has a Trainer," James said.
Team Rocket groaned in disappointment.
"This is just perfect!" The boy said.
"Huh?" Team Rocket asked in unison.
"I was just planning on getting rid of my Farfetch'd anyway," the boy said. "You guys wanna make a deal with me?"
"For that Farfetch'd?" Meowth asked.
"Yeah," the boy replied. "I also have a Bellossom and a Vileplume in here, too. I guess I'm sort of getting tired of raising Pokémon. I'd be happy to find somebody who would take them off my hands."
"Farfetch'd, Farfetch'd, Far," Farfetch'd said.
Team Rocket looked at each other and they cackled evilly. The boy just chuckled at how stupid they are.
The boy leads them to a boat by a river. He places his backpack down on the ground.
"Aw, I'm sorry. I forgot something back in the forest. Would you mind watching my Pokéballs and my Farfetch'd while I run in and get it?" The boy asked.
"Sure, we'd be glad to," Jessie said.
"Leave it to us," James added.
"We'll take good care of them," Meowth said.
"Thank you so much. And I'll be right back," the boy said, taking off in the woods.
"Be careful," James said.
"Take your time," Jessie said.
They waited until he was out of sight and they grinned.
"Good, he's gone!" James said.
"Now's our chance!" Meowth said.
"Yoink!" Jessie said, grabbing Farfetch'd. "Can you believe it? He's so very stupid to let Team Rocket guard his Pokémon."
"Just like letting a Munchlax guard your vegetable garden," Meowth said.
"And he also left a boat for us to make our getaway!" James said.
"It's just like taking candy from a baby!" Jessie said.
Team Rocket enters the boat and sails on the boat.
"The easiest capture in Team Rocket history," Meowth said.
"I guess good things happens to bad people!" Jessie said.
"You got that right, sister!" James said.
The cork on the boat bursts off, and water erupts from the hole.
"What the?" Meowth asked. "Plug up that hole before we sink!" Team Rocket rushed to clog up the hole.
"That kid rigged the boat!" Jessie said. More water gushes in. Farfetch'd laughed and jumped off.
"Plug up the hole! More water's getting in!" Meowth said. The boat sinks in the water.
The boat resurfaces and their Pokéballs floats.
"My Weezing and Weepinbell!" James gasped.
"Arbok and Lickitung too!" Jessie said.
"Hey, he might have Water-type Pokémon, so we can use them to get them back," Meowth said.
"Good idea," Jessie said, reaching in the backpack and pulled out a rock. "Ah! What the hell?!"
"What's wrong?" James asked.
"Look!" Jessie said.
"A rock?!" James exclaimed. He looked inside. There were a bunch of rocks and a picture of him giving them the finger. "There's nothing but rocks in there!"
"That little shit tricked us!" Jessie said.
"Farfetch'd, Farfetch'd, Farfetch'd," Farfetch'd said. Farfetch'd swam towards their Pokéballs with a basket and swooped them in.
"Those are our Pokémon!" Jessie said.
"Give them back!" James called out.
Farfetch'd swam at the front and batted Meowth on the head, making the boat turn over. Team Rocket splashed in the water and they flow down the river and right at the waterfall, making them fall straight do, screaming. Farfetch'd just laughed at their misfortune. Farfetch'd swam back to the boy.
"Good work, Farfetch'd," the boy said, taking them. He laughed. "Now they're mine! All mine!"
Over to Officer Jenny's booth, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel led the girl to Officer Jenny to make the report.
"So the Farfetch'd did a trick and you just chased right after it, and that's when that boy appeared before you," Officer Jenny said trying to understand the situation.
"Yes, that's right," the girl nodded.
"I guess that makes you the fifth victim this week. That boy and his Farfetch'd has been a problem for a while now. And I can't seem to get a fix on him since he never stays in one place," Officer Jenny said.
"Why would he do this to me? Why?" The girl asked.
"I'm afraid there is no known motive to these thefts," Officer Jenny said. "But I can tell you, he's a slippery one, that kid."
Back to the camp, the boy and Farfetch'd, he was cooking a meal.
"We've been together for a long time, Farfetch'd. Right after I found you, injured right on the road and nursed you back to health, we started stealing," the boy said.
"Farfetch'd," Farfetch'd said. The boy started to feel guilty.
"I just wish there was another way to get by. But how else could we survive? You and I are too weak to battle," the boy said.
"Farfetch'd," Farfetch'd said.
Inside the tent, one of the Pokéballs bursts open and out came a Poliwhirl. The Tadpole Pokémon looked at the recently stolen backpack and set off to find its Trainer while the boy and Farfetch'd weren't looking.
"I think the stew's about ready," the boy said.
Over to Team Rocket, they float up in their balloon, searching for the boy and Farfetch'd.
"We gotta find that punk and teach him not to mess with Team Rocket," Meowth said.
"Still, I can't believe we fell for it!" James groaned.
"You fell for it, because you're so stupid," Jessie said.
"Hey, you fell for it just the same as me!" James argued back.
"Would you two shut up? Who cares about that right now? If the boss or anyone else in Team Rocket hears about how we got our Pokémon stolen, we're going to be even bigger laughingstocks in Team Rocket; we're never going to hear the end of it! And not to mention, the twerp will hold this over our heads," Meowth said.
"Don't worry, because none of that will ever happen," Jessie said.
Back in the forest, the girl led Sora, Kairi, Officer Jenny, Pikachu, and Angel to the spot where she got robbed.
"This is the spot where I got robbed," the girl said.
"He should be nearby," Sora said.
"Chu," Pikachu said.
"Now, if only we could find out where," Kairi said.
"Vee," Angel said. Her ears perked up. "Eevee!"
"What's wrong, Angel?" Kairi asked.
"Eevee!" Angel said.
They saw Poliwhirl come out of the woods.
"That's my Poliwhirl! I just know it!" The girl exclaimed. "Poliwhirl! I'm so happy to see you! Where's that kid? And where's that Farfetch'd? Where did he take you after he stole you, and where are the other Pokémon? How did you escape?"
"Poliwhirl!" Poliwhirl points to the way it came.
"She wants us to follow her," Kairi said.
"You're right. Lead the way," the girl said. Poliwhirl started to lead them to the boy's camp.
Speaking of which, the boy has taken the Pokéballs in another bag and he zips them up.
"We keep getting more Pokémon. Well, if we meet someone on the road, we'll just steal their Pokémon, too," the boy said.
"There he is!" Meowth exclaimed.
The boy and Farfetch'd stopped in their tracks.
"Huh?" The boy asked. He saw Team Rocket come down on their balloon.
"We got you now, you little turd!" James said.
"You won't get away with this!" Jessie said.
"What are you doing here?" The boy asked.
"You know damn well what we're doing here, you little delinquent!" James said.
"Sinking that boat, and stealing our Pokémon!" Jessie added.
"Now, we're gonna tear you limb from limb!" Meowth said.
"Oh, come on, guys. Can't you take a joke? I meant what I said. I'm tired of raising Pokémon. I've got so many. Look, I'll give you Arbok, Weezing, Lickitung, and Weepinbell back just say I'm sorry," the boy said.
"No dice," Jessie huffed.
"Don't think you can butter us up by just giving them back," James said.
"You're right," the boy said. Team Rocket ends up being confused. "I'm giving up all of them. And I'm adding in an apology for the whole boat fiasco." He hands James the Pokéballs.
"Well, that is downright generous," Jessie said.
"I guess we will have to forgive him," Meowth said.
"I'm glad I ran into you guys! I was planning on moving, but I just had too much stuff to carry," the boy said.
"Oh, good for you," James said.
"Yeah, so please forgive me, and good luck," the boy said.
Team Rocket floats up in their balloon, satisfied by the many Pokéballs he was given.
"What a haul!" Meowth said.
"I guess that kid wasn't so bad after all!" James said.
"If I ever said a rotten thing, I'm sorry I ever did," Jessie said.
The boy and Farfetch'd watched them float off as Poliwhirl points towards him.
"That's him! That's the kid who robbed me!" The girl said.
"Now we got him," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Now, we better get going," the boy said. Just when he and Farfetch'd were about to take off Kairi, Angel, and the girl stood in his way.
"Stop right there!" The girl barked. "Give me back my Pokémon right now, you thief!"
"Eevee!" Angel said.
"Crap!" The boy exclaimed before Sora, Pikachu, Golem, Gengar, Alakazam, Machamp, and Officer Jenny stood in his way, cutting his escape.
"You're under arrest for grand theft Pokémon!" Officer Jenny said.
"Your crime spree's over!" Sora said.
"Pikachu!" Pikachu said.
The boy saw he and Farfetch'd had nowhere to run.
"Just how could you do that to me?" The girl asked. "What made you think it was okay to steal someone else's Pokémon?"
"That's a good question, because it takes love and care to raise Pokémon. You have no right to do that," Kairi said.
"I think we should show this guy how difficult a Pokémon battle is," Sora said.
"Good idea. I was going to suggest that before I slap the cuffs on him," Officer Jenny said.
"Wait! Farfetch'd is too weak for battle! That's why we did what we did! We didn't have any other choice," the boy said.
"That's not true," Sora said. He turned to Sora. "Weak Pokémon will get strong when you train them. That's how they learn to use new moves and evolve. Also, it's how Trainers evolve."
"But Farfetch'd isn't-" the boy tried to reason, but Farfetch'd stepped in.
"Fetch'd, Far, Far," Farfetch'd said.
"What? You want to battle?" The boy asked.
"Farfetch'd," Farfetch'd nodded.
"No, Farfetch'd, I won't let you!" The boy said.
"Alakazam! Go for it!" Sora said.
"Alakazam," Alakazam said, stepping in.
"Alakazam! Use Psybeam!" Sora ordered. Alakazam fired Psybeam right at Farfetch'd, but the Wild Duck Pokémon dodged. "Use Fire Punch!" Alakazam came at Farfetch'd with Fire Punch and lands a punch onto Farfetch'd.
"Please, Farfetch'd! Stop! You can't win!" The boy pleaded.
"Now you know the right way to capture wild Pokémon," the girl said.
"Use Psychic!" Sora ordered. Alakazm uses Psychic to lift up Farfetch'd and slammed it down on the ground. Farfetch'd got back up and came at Alakazam with its leek giving off a light purple glow, and lands a hit, dealing some heavy damage. "That was Night Slash!"
"I didn't know Farfetch'd could do that," the boy said.
"Alakazam! Use Psychic!" Sora ordered. Alakazam tried to use Psychic, but Farfetch'd came too fast for Alakazam to do so; Farfetch'd lands the finishing blow with its leek glowing light green. Farfetch'd lands the finishing blow. Alakazam fell forward, beaten. "That was Fury Cutter!"
"I didn't know Farfetch'd could use those attacks," the boy said.
"Huh? You seriously didn't know?" Sora asked in disbelief.
"No. And even if I did, I wouldn't have been using it to steal from others," the boy said.
"You shouldn't be stealing in the first place," Sora said.
"He's right. You shouldn't have judged a Pokémon by the way a Pokémon looks," Kairi said. Sora called back Alakazam to rest. He turned to Golem.
"Okay, Golem You're up next," Sora said. Just then, Psyduck came out to battle instead. "Huh? Psyduck?"
"Psy-y-y-y," Psyduck said.
"Wait, you wanna battle?" Sora asked.
"Psyduck," Psyduck said, stepping forward. Farfetch'd just laughed and started to smack Psyduck on the head. The more times Farfetch'd smacked Psyduck on the head, the worse his headaches were getting.
"Psyduck! Use Scratch!" Sora ordered. Psyduck just stood there and his headache was getting worse and worse. And that's when Psyduck stopped Farfetch'd in his tracks.
"Farfetch'd! No!" The boy cried.
"That's Psyduck's Confusion!" Sora said. Psyduck lifts Farfetch'd in the air and sends Farfetch'd back to its Trainer, hitting the tree behind them. "I'm not sure how you did it, but good job, Psyduck!"
Over to Team Rocket, they float in their balloon, still marveling at the Pokéballs they were given.
"I'm embarrassed to ever doubt that kid," James said.
"Let's see what treasures are these little beauties," Meowth said. The Pokéballs opened to reveal Voltorb inside of them. "Voltorb!"
"They're all Voltorb!" James exclaimed.
"THAT LITTLE SHIT TRICKED US AGAIN! I DON'T CARE IF I GET THE CHAIR FOR THIS, I'M GOING TO MURDER THAT KID!" Jessie yelled.
"First, let's lighten our load!" Meowth said.
"Right!" Jessie and James agreed, throwing the Voltorb off their balloon. The Voltorb starts exploding, making everyone duck their heads.
"Hit the deck!" Sora exclaimed.
"I'M SORRY! I'M SO VERY, VERY, VERY, SORRY! I WON'T STEAL ANYMORE! I ABSOLUTELY PROMISE I WILL NEVER DO ANYTHING BAD EVER AGAIN!" The boy pleaded.
"Farfetch'd, Far," Farfetch'd also pleaded.
As the sun sets, the boy agreed to return the Pokémon he stole to their rightful Trainers, using no tricks like he did with Team Rocket. And they also got theirs back. They were expecting Sora was going to tease them for it, but he decided to because he knew even they didn't deserve that kind of humiliation.
He stood before Officer Jenny and bowed his head.
"I knew what I did was wrong, but I ignored the guilt and did it anyway. Please forgive me," the boy said.
"None of the victims will be pressing charges since they got all their Pokémon back," Officer Jenny said.
"That's good," the boy said.
"And also lucky, Keith. Lucky that I'll be letting you off with a warning since this is your first offense. If I hear that you have reverted to your old ways and start stealing again, just know that I will not be going easy on you the next time. Understand?" Officer Jenny asked sternly.
"Yes, I understand, and I promise to never do it again," Keith promised.
"Good to hear, Keith. What are you going to do now?" Sora asked.
"Catching my Pokémon and raising them the right way; especially after seeing what Farfetch'd can do. And if you haven't come along, I still would be stealing. I'm just glad you taught me that," Keith said.
"As long as you believe in Farfetch'd's strength, you could be an unstoppable team," Kairi said.
"I know that now. And I won't ever forget it, so we're off! Come on, Farfetch'd!" Keith said.
"Farfetch'd!" Farfetch'd said, following Keith.
"Farfetch'd," Farfetch'd
Just when one Trainer thought she lost her Pokémon for good, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, and Officer Jenny helped get them back. And Trainers now have their Pokémon back to them, and local Trainers won't worry about having their Pokémon stolen. Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel continued on to train for Cinnabar Island for Sora's seventh Gym badge.
