Chapter One-hundred and thirty-four: Pokémon World Tournament Junior Cup, part two

The heroes were still in Lacunosa Town for the Pokémon World Tournament Junior Cup. Things got a bit hectic in the second battle of the tournament's second round, given that Iris's Dragonite went berserk and had rampaged, but things there were settled and the tournament was able to proceed. Dawn, sitting in the audience with Bianca on her left and Meloetta in her lap, looked down into the arena as the third battle of the tournament proceeded to start up, a battle that will see two of those in the heroes' group butt heads, although this time it was Trip and Cilan.

"This battle in the Pokémon World Tournament Junior Cup's second round is between Trip and Cilan," Freddie O'Martian announced to the audience as he began to officiate the battle between Trip and Cilan, "Each trainer may only use one Pokémon, and the trainer with the last Pokémon standing wins! Also, they may use different Pokémon than the ones they had used in round one! Now then, BEGIN!"

"Go, Pansage!" Cilan said as he sent out his Pansage.

Tossing up a pokéball, Trip said, "Alright, Myde! Let's rock it!" Coming out to battle was Myde, Trip's named Empoleon.

"A dual water steel type," Cilan said, "Interesting choice, Trip! But it will only get you so far!" Gesturing forward, Cilan said, "Pansage, use Bullet Seed!"

"Myde, counter with Ice Beam!" Trip called out.

The two Pokémon fired their attacks at one another, but Myde's Ice Beam overpowered Pansage's Bullet Seed and proceeded to go on to blast right into Pansage, drawing out a pained cry from the unevolved grass Pokémon. As Pansage was sent reeling back, Trip said, "Myde, follow it up with Flash Cannon!"

"Pansage, get out of there!" Cilan called out, but it wouldn't do any good; the moment Pansage got back up after having been sent reeling by Ice Beam, it was hit by Flash Cannon and sent reeling once again. Only this time, however, after it was thrown back, Pansage rolled on the battlefield for a bit until coming to a stop, laying face up and clearly out of it.

Holding up a hand, Freddie O'Martian called out, "Pansage is unable to battle! Trip moves on to the semifinals!"

The audience cheered over the impressive victory that Trip had scored, and Cilan though he lost did not begrudge Trip in the least. There was little else of interest in the remainder of round two, especially since Kenny won against Shepherd when Godzilla took out Shepherd's Galvantula in one hit with Rock Slide. As such, the brackets for the semifinals in the Pokémon World Tournament Junior Cup would see Ash face Ideku and Trip face Kenny. Dawn noticed that it was the same as the semifinal brackets for the Clubsplosion tournament, but the tournament here ran on different rules, allowed trainers to use different Pokémon.

Would that be enough to permit for a difference in outcomes? Only time would tell.

During the intermission between rounds two and three, Dawn and the rest of the heroes met up with Burgundy, who was hurt when Iris's Dragonite lost its temper and went on a rampage. Luckily, the injury was limited to a poke cut on the back of one of her hands, and it was treated with bandaging. There wasn't even a need for stitches, thank goodness for that. But that still didn't change the fact that Iris, due to not having complete control over one of her Pokémon, had caused injury to happen to Burgundy, who actually had the legal rights and backing to bring charges against Iris if she so chose.

Thankfully, Burgundy was convinced to not press charges. "You doing better, Burgundy?" Dawn asked.

Looking at the back of her bandaged hand, Burgundy said, "I'll heal, if that's what you're worried about." Turning to look at Iris, Burgundy asked, "With all due respect, I have to ask. What made you think using a clearly temperamental Pokémon like your Dragonite was a good idea? It clearly has issues it needs to work on before it could be reliably used in battle."

Letting out a troubled sigh, Iris said, "I... I just wanted to put Ideku in his place over how he had tattled on Skyla in Mistralton City, getting her suspended and at risk of losing her gym leader position permanently."

Arching a wry eyebrow, Burgundy said, "I heard about that. Frankly, I think what Skyla had been doing was rather insulting."

"Insulting?" Iris said, looking surprised.

"She's a gym leader," Burgundy said, "Yet she was using some convoluted method that let her do her job without actually doing her job, all because she wanted more time for a hobby. She never even thought to try setting her gym leader job up as a nine-to-five deal allowing herself weekends off, which would still grant her good time for her hobby AND do her job properly. There are some gym leaders who run things that way, and it's perfectly legal."

"Thank you, Burgundy," Cilan said, "I'm glad to see another person agree with me on how Skyla had been acting unprofessionally."

Burgundy arched a wry eyebrow at Cilan. "I suppose it is possible for you and I to find some common ground." Turning to look at Iris,m Burgundy went on, "But back to the subject of your Dragonite, Iris. Aside from temper issues, it's clear that your Dragonite doesn't fully trust you."

"Doesn't..." Iris began, "...Fully trust me?"

"It showed signs of disobedience," Burgundy said, "And it's seemingly always at least somewhat hostile. The only reason it followed your commands in the battle against Ideku's Dragonite is because it saw a member of its species and decided to take it as a challenge. Also, in contrast to you and your Dragonite, Ideku and his Dragonite work swimmingly together. They were clearly in synch, with Ideku and Dragonite fully trusting one another." Turning to look at Dawn, Burgundy added, "And I'd say that you are even more impressive, Champion Dawn. You're commanding Palkia, a legendary Pokémon, without any issue. I haven't seen very many examples of a trainer and Pokémon working so well together."

Dawn nodded once in acknowledgement. "Thanks for the vote of confidence in me and Tsukune's ability to work together."

Burgundy nodded once before turning back to face Iris. "You ought to take some cues from her," Burgundy said to Iris while pointing at Dawn, "She clearly knows how to earn and keep a Pokémon's respect, something every trainer needs to do if they want to succeed."

Iris looked down at her place of the table everyone was sitting at. "...Earn and keep Dragonite's respect, huh?"

"You may also wanna ask Ash for pointers in that regard," Burgundy said, "Given that he clearly knows how to work that as well. And speaking of." Turning to look at Ash, Burgundy said, "You'll be fighting Ideku in the semifinals. He's a strong trainer, so I hope you're ready for a challenge."

"I was born ready!" Ash declared, eliciting a likewise confident cry from Pikachu.

"You had better win, Ash," Trip said, "Because I want another crack at you."

"Which will have to wait for it is I who shall get a shot at battling Ash!" Kenny declared, "He shall taste the power of cringe like he never has before!"

As the heroes laughed in good humor, Burgundy eyed them with piqued interest. "...Maybe Ash would make a good case study to learn ideas to help me," Burgundy muttered to herself, too quietly for the heroes to hear, before taking a sip from her drink.

The semifinals of the Pokémon World Tournament Junior Cup kicked off with seeing Ideku face off against Ash. "This battle in the Pokémon World Tournament Junior Cup's semifinal round is between Ash and Ideku," Freddie O'Martian announced to the audience as he began to officiate the battle between Ash and Ideku, "Each trainer may only use one Pokémon, and the trainer with the last Pokémon standing wins! Also, they may use different Pokémon than the ones they had used in round two! Now then, BEGIN!"

"Krokorok, I choose you!" Ash called out, sending out his sunglasses wearing Krokorok.

Tossing up a pokéball, Ideku said, "Go, Blitzkrieg!" Coming out into battle was Ideku's named shiny Raichu.

Looking surprised, Ash said, "You're using your Raichu, even though I'm using Krokorok who is part ground type?"

"I assure you, Ash," Ideku said, "That Blitzkrieg has multiple answers for enemy ground type Pokémon, with a third option opening up due to Krokorok's partial dark typing. But thank you for the concern you've shown just now."

Ash smiled, nodded once in the affirmative. "I always want battles I'm in to be even for all sides. It's not fun if it's not fair." Ideku actually gave a small but honest and sincere smile at Ash's sense of fair play. But that had to be put on hold because there was a battle to be had. Pointing forward, Ash said, "Krokorok, use Stone Edge!"

"Blitzkrieg, use Grass Knot!" Ideku ordered.

Krokorok conjured and cast its Stone Edge attack at the named shiny Raichu, who made blades of grass grow around Krokorok's feet, tie into a knot over the right foot, then pull back to trip Krokorok up. This made most of the pointed stones from Stone Edge miss, but a few did strike Blitzkrieg on the left side. Gesturing forward, Ideku called out, "Blitzkrieg, use Surf!"

"Krokorok, use Dig to dodge it!" Ash called out.

The named shiny Raichu conjured a huge wave of water that it rode towards Krokorok, who quickly dug itself underground, covering its escape behind it to keep the water from following it. After Blitzkrieg landed back on the ground, Krokorok burst up from the ground immediately in front of it, sending Blitzkrieg flying back but it did a few backflips after recovering. "Blitzkrieg," Ideku called out, "Use Disarming Voice!"

Blitzkrieg, still in the process of doing a handstand after some backflips, did a spin before firing a Disarming Voice attack at Krokorok, hitting it and sending it stumbling back. Up in the audience, Dawn saw that Ideku's shiny Raichu, despite the type disadvantage, had multiple tricks allowing it to still score super effective damage on the dual ground dark Krokorok. As Krokorok was thrown back, it landed hard on its back before struggling to push itself back up. "Krokorok!" Ash called out, "Are you going to be alright, buddy?"

"KROKOROK!" Ash's Krokorok cried out boldly, right before it began glowing a bright white color, its entire form now a white silhouette. It's form shifted and grew, and when that was done, the glowing faded to reveal that Krokorok was now a Krookodile.

"Ash's Krokorok evolved into Krookodile!" Bianca who sat next to Dawn in the audience exclaimed.

Dawn remembered, from the BW anime in her previous life, how this happened and had helped Ash score a win in that battle. But here Ash faced a different opponent, so she had no idea how things would go. Down in the arena, Ash said, "Alright! You evolved, Krookodile!" With an amused smirk on his face, Ash said, "Let's see how this will help pave the way to us winning this battle!" Gesturing forward, Ash said, "Krookodile, use Stone Edge!"

"Blitzkrieg, use Surf!" Ideku ordered.

The named shiny Raichu conjured up another wave of water to ride towards his now fully evolved opponent, and riding up like that allowed it to avoid most of the Stone Edge. But a few of the pointed stones still struck Blitzkrieg, on the right side this time. Krookodile jumped up and, albeit with some degree of unbalance, rode on its tail like a surfboard to ride towards Raichu along the wave. "Krookodile!" Ash's Krookodile called out, right before striking at Blitzkrieg with its claws that glowed fiercely with dragonic power.

"Krookodile had just learned Dragon claw!" Bianca cried out, "That's amazing!"

Down on the battlefield, Blitzkrieg got back up after its waved crashed and it reeled back from Krookodile's Dragon Claw. Pointing forward, Ash called out, "Krookodile, use Dragon Claw again!"

"Blitzkrieg, use Grass Knot!" Ideku called out.

Krookodile rushed forward with its claws glowing fiercely with dragonic power once again. When it got within a foot of Blitzkrieg, the named shiny Raichu tripped it up with Grass Knot, but it made Krookodile fall forward hard, actually boosting Dragon Claw's damage output due to momentum. Both Pokémon took heavy damage, and Ash's Krookodile was barely able to catch itself from falling over and hitting the ground hard. Both Pokémon were panting hard, both having dealt heavy damage to one another. However, it was Blitzkrieg who ended up collapsing, clearly unable to continue battling.

"Raichu is unable to battle," Freddie O'Martian called out, "The winner is Krookodile! Ash moves on to the final round!"

The audience cheered over the impressive win Ash had scored, made all the more impressive by how his Pokémon had evolved during the battle. After both trainers recalled their respective Pokémon, Ideku approached Ash, no hint of ill will in the air he gave off. "As always, you performed admirably," Ideku said, "Even with what all Blitzkrieg knew that gave him an edge against your Korkorok that evolved into Krookodile during out battle, you still pulled through."

Ash nodded once in thanks. "I was also impressed with your Raichu. It's got some neat attacks. I may even want to look into having Pikachu pick up some of those moves if he can."

Nodding once in acknowledgement, Ideku said, "I recommend that you start with Grass Knot if that's the case. It deals more damage the more the target outweighs the user, and there are very few Pokémon who weigh less than a Pikachu." Ash thanked Ideku for the advice before the two of them shook hands, ending the first battle of the semifinals in the Pokémon World Tournament Junior Cup on a pleasant note.

Following Ash's win against Ideku, the battle between Trip and Kenny soon got underway. "I hope you're ready to lose," Kenny said, "Not only do I have a loss against Ash to avenge, but also a loss against you that I have to avenge as well!"

"Oh ho ho," Trip said, "You will try."

After both boys were done, Freddie O'Martian called out, "This battle in the Pokémon World Tournament Junior Cup's semifinal round is between Trip and Kenny! Each trainer may only use one Pokémon, and the trainer with the last Pokémon standing wins! Also, they may use different Pokémon than the ones they had used in round two! Now then, BEGIN!"

"Okay, Giyu!" Kenny said as he sent out his Hisuian Samurott, "Let's make it cringe!"

"Alright, HedonismBot!" Trip said as he sent out his Magnezone, "Let's rock it!"

As the two named Pokémon prepared to face off against one another, Binaca where she sat in the audience next to Dawn asked, "Hey Dawn, you know Trip, right? I know that you and Trip and Kenny name the Pokémon you all get, but I have to ask. Where did Trip come up with a name like 'HedonismBot'?"

Dawn couldn't say where exactly, because the name HedonismBot came from an animated show back in Dawn's and Trip's previous life, when they were Don and Piper respectively, and HedonismBot was the name of a robot who apologized for nothing. Gently shaking her head, Dawn replied to Bianca, "I have no idea what to tell you, Bianca. Trip, similar to Kenny, sometimes does things in a way I can't comprehend."

Down on the battlefield, Kenny said, "Giyu, use Night Slash!"

"HedonismBot, use Tri Attack!" Trip called out.

The named Hisuian Samurott took one of its dark seamitars and rush at HedonismBot, slashing at it in a dark energy trail. But the named Magnezone pulled through and struck at Giyu with its conjured attack. To make things better for Trip, HedonismBot's Tri Attack was able to land a burn on Giyu. Kenny scoffed in annoyance over this, as Giyu primarily used physical attacks. At Kenny's call, Giyu leapt back to get some distance. The named Hisuian Samurott did have one special move in its arsenal, and Kenny intended to make the most of it.

"Giyu, use Water Pulse!" Kenny ordered.

"HedonismBot, use Thunderbolt!" Trip commanded.

Both Pokémon cast their attacks at one another, with Giyu's Water Pulse striking first, then HedonismBot's Thunderbolt struck next and pushed Giyu to the edge of defeat. As such, it was actually when Giyu was pained by his burn that he had taken too much, and as such ended up falling over onto the battlefield, clearly out of it. "Samurott is unable to battle!" Freddie O'Martian called out, "The winner is Magnezone! Trip moves on to the final round!"

The audience cheered as Trip was declared the winner. Kenny wasn't too amused that he lost again, but wouldn't let it beat him up. Still, Trip making it that far in the Pokémon meant that he would, once again, be facing Ash in the final round of a tournament that most of the heroes had entered. How that battle will go, Dawn cannot say right now. But one thing is certain; Trip, who in his previous life as Piper, favored Ash above all other anime characters. Getting to do battle with him, not once but now twice, was bound to be a dream come true. But how that dream will end up playing out here in the Pokémon World Tournament Junior Cup is something that will need to be seen to be believe.

Later, after all Pokémon who had fought had a chance to rest, the tournament went on to its final round battle. "This battle in the Pokémon World Tournament Junior Cup's final round is between Trip and Ash!" Freddie O'Martian announced as he began to officiate the battle between Trip and Ash, "Each trainer may only use one Pokémon, and the trainer with the last Pokémon standing wins! Also, they may use different Pokémon than the ones they had used in round three! Now then, BEGIN!"

Tossing up a pokéball, Ash called out, "Tranquil, I choose you!"

After Ash had sent his Tranquil out, Dawn realized that Ash's Tranquil hadn't evolved into Unfezant yet, despite how it should have long since done so by this point. It must be due to what all else Ash had done with his Pokémon here. Hopefully, Ash will evolve his Tranquil soon enough. Trip, where he stood, tossed up a pokéball as he called out, "Alright, Metroid! Let's rock it!" Trip's choice of Pokémon here was his named Galvantula, which was something of a double edge sword here; its electric typing gave it an edge against the flying type Tranquil whose secondary typing didn't help reduce the pain from electric attacks, but at the same time Tranquil's flying attacks will damage Galvantula a fair bit.

It would all come down to who got luckier. Gezsturing forward, Ash said, "Tranquil, use Quick Attack!"

"Metroid, use Thunder Wave!" Trip called out.

Tranquil, flying in quickly, made a quick slam into Metroid, hoping to fly away before getting hit by the named Galvantula's attack. However, Metroid unleashed Thunder Wave the very instant it felt Tranquil slam into it quickly, sending a wave of weak electricity jolts flying and hitting Tranquil, paralyzing her as a result. "Tranquil, use Gust!" Ash ordered.

"Metroid, use Thunderbolt!" Trip commanded.

Due to paralysis, Tranquil was struck hard by Thunderbolt before she could dish out a Gust, barely able to work through the pain and paralysis before striking Metroid with Gust. After that attack, Tranquil went down to one knee, panting hard with exhaustion. "Tranquil, are you okay?" Ash called out.

"You're tougher than this, Tranquil!" Trip called out, surprising Ash, "I know you're capable of giving Metroid and I the thrill we're looking for in this battle!" Metroid even cried out in agreement with her trainer.

Tranquil, despite her paralysis and heavy damge, forced herself back up with a defiant cry of, "TRANQUIL!" Then, similar to what happened in Ash's battle with Ideku where Krokorok evolved into Krookodile, Ash's Tranquil began evolving, glowing white as she grew and changed form. After that was complete, Ash's Tranquil had finally evolved into Unfezant; as a female Unfezant, she was mostly brown and dark gray and lacked a colorful mask with long trails, unlike what her male counterpart would look like.

Fighting through the paralysis, Ash's Unfezant flew up into the air, ready to strike at Trip's named Galvantula. "You ready for this, Unfezant?" Ash asked, then after Unfezant gave an affirmative cry, Ash said, "Well alright! Unfezant, use Aerial Ace!"

"Metroid, use Thunderbolt!" Trip called out.

Taking aim, Unfezant to fly right down at Metroid, going as fast as her paralysis would allow. Metroid unleashed a Thunderbolt, and Unfezant was able to fly around it for a bit until it finally struck her. But Unfezant pushed through, gritting her metaphorical teeth, and at last dealt a solid physical blow onto Metroid, eliciting a pained cry from the named Galvantula before landing right behind her. However, a few seconds after landing from using Aerial Ace, Unfezant gave a pained, gasping cry before she fell over onto the ground of the battlefield, clearly out of it.

Holding up a hand, Freddie O'Martian announced, "Unfezant is unable to battle! The winner is Galvantula!" Gesturing to Trip, Freddie O'Martian announced, "The winner of the Pokémon World Tournament Junior Cup is Trip!" As the audience cheered for Trip winning the tournament, Trip with Metroid following him went over to where Ash's Unfezant laid on the ground, helping her up as Ash and Pikachu came over.

Looking up to Ash, Trip said, "Your Unfezant has some serious grit to her, Ash. I think that Metroid's Thunderbolt was enough to knock your Unfezant out, but she still refused to go down until she landed a good solid hit on Metroid."

"Thanks Trip," Ash said as he proceeded to take over helping his Unfezant back up.

Giving Ash a nod and a knowing look, Trip said, "I'll dedicate the win I'll score against Alder in our exhibition match to your Unfezant and her inspiring grit. So I hope you see me bring home the gold." Ash nodded once in acknowledgement as he recalled his Unfezant. The crowd cheered at the show of good sportsmanship, as well as how the bulk of the Pokémon World Tournament Junior Cup had been brought to an end.

An award ceremony was done after Trip's win against Ash, seeing Trip receive the Junior Cup trophy from Alder himself. Additionally, Trip as well as every trainer who competed in the Pokémon World Tournament Junior Cup received a cute little Alder key-chain for participating. Dawn was also awarded one of those key-chains for her act of saving the audience from when Iris's Dragonite went on a rampage. To Dawn, the Alder key-chain was reward enough; she had enough awards on the mantle in her bedroom back in Twinleaf Town, Sinnoh already, and chances are more will come to her naturally anyway, so the Junior Cup trophy would eat up even more of what mantle space Dawn still had.

Even so, Dawn got to hold the Junior Cup trophy when Trip handed it to her while asking her to hold onto it for him while he fought the exhibition match against Alder. "This exhibition battle will be between Trip, winner of the Pokémon World Tournament Junior Cup," Freddie O'Martian began as he officiated the battle between Trip and Alder, "And Alder, the champion of the Unova Pokémon League! Each trainer may use only one Pokémon, and the trainer who has the last Pokémon standing will be the winner! Now then, BEGIN!"

Tossing up a pokéball, Alder said, "Bouffalant, I choose you!" Coming out to battle was Alder's Bouffalant. Dawn remembered, in the anime in her previous life, that Trip there had this battle with Alder, but used Serperior and ended up losing. Here, Trip was Piper, reborn into this world. This version of Trip did things way differently, not to mention having way different Pokémon. Depending on what Pokémon Trip here chose to use, things could end up vastly differently.

Trip, with an amused smirk on his face, expanded a Master Ball and tossed it up while saying, "Alright, Deelia! Let's rock it!" Coming out into battle was Trip's named Dialga, who gave a challenging roar upon entering battle.

"Whoa now!" Alder exclaimed in surprise, "Now this is a big one!"

"Well I am battling a region's champion," Trip replied, "It's only logical I use the strongest Pokémon that I have."

Chuckling a bit, Alder said, "Glad to see you take things seriously, young man! That'll serve you well as a trainer!" Gesturing forward, Alder said, "Bouffalant, use Head Charge!"

"Deelia, push it back with Flash Cannon!" Trip called out.

Bouffalant, its afro glowing with reddish energy, made a headlong charge straight at Deelia. But the named Dialga quickly fired off a Flash Cannon attack at Bouffalant, striking it right on the afro and pushing it back. Being a strong Pokémon trained by a region's champion, Bouffalant didn't go down right away. But even Bouffalant can't take an non-resisted attack like that with nothing to show for it; it shuddered a bit from sheer pain, and had to greatly shake its head to refocus itself. "Bouffalant, use Megahorn!" Alder ordered.

"Deelia, use Earth Power!" Trip commanded.

As Bouffalant charged right at Deelia with greenish glowing horns, Deelia made the ground under Bouffalant erupt with earthen power, striking Bouffalant in multiple spots on its underside and tossing it up. After it came back down from being tossed up, Bouffalant barely got back up, clearly pushing itself well past its limits. Gesturing forward, Alder called out, "Bouffalant, use Earthquake!"

"Deelia, use Roar of Time!" Trip exclaimed.

Bouffalant was about to trigger a ground-shaking attack, but Deelia charged up and fired its Roar of Time attack, firing it right at Bouffalant who was too hurt and tired to get out of the way in time. The mighty dragonic attack of time blasted right into Bouffalant's side, making it cry out in pain before it was thrown back. This time, after it came to a stop, Bouffalant was very clearly out of it.

"Bouffalant is unable to battle!" Freddie O'Martian announced, "The winner is Dialga!" Gesturing to Trip, Freddie O'Martian said, "Victory of this exhibition battle goes to Trip!"

The audience erupted into surprised cheers; even though it was an exhibition battle meaning that no titles were affected, it still didn't change the fact that Alder, the Champion of Unova, had just lost. After recalling his Bouffalant, Alder let out an amused laugh as he walked over to Trip. "Now I have cause for worry about you going to enter the Vetress Conference!" Alder said in a clearly amused tone, the air he gave off harboring no ill feelings at all, "All of my Pokémon and I will have to be on our guard when you come knocking on our door!"

Trip, smiling a bit, replied, "Oh, I'm not the only trainer you have to worry about, Alder. There's loads of other talent out there, mark my words." Alder, giving a booming laugh, agreed as he gave Trip a good-natured pat on the back. It was as such that the Pokémon World Tournament Junior Cup came to a close, ending on a note that gave everyone watching a great surprise. And so, with more progress made towards getting stronger and some surprise victories being scored, the heroes proceeded to take off from the stadium, so as to continue their journey in the Unova region.

...

Meanwhile, the Team Rocket Trio were outside of some ruins that were underwater, getting there via submarine. "The secret camera drone we got shows us that Meloetta is with the twerps," Jessie said to the boys.

"So we know where to go to get Meloetta for the plan," James said.

Seeing the underwater ruins entrance, Meowth smirked. "...And lo and behold, the Abyssal Ruins." The Team Rocket Trio laughed to themselves, knowing full well that their plans were making more and more progress.

END, CHAPTER ONE-HUNDRED AND THIRTY-FOUR

Author's notes;

This chapter wraps up the Pokémon World Tournament Junior Cup, sees some of Ash's Pokémon evolve, and sees Trip here actually defeat Alder (in an exhibition match). However, even as the heroes celebrate Trip's win, they can't rest easy for long, because Team Rocket is gearing up for one of their biggest moves to date by this point. Also, Cameron will show up in the next chapter, and Kenny surprisingly enough will strike up something of a (mild) rivalry with the excitable boy. Keep your eyes peeled for the coming of the next chapter.

Also, I went to a pre-release event for Scarlet and Violet the night before this chapter went up on 11-18-22. I'm going to be a bit busier than normal for a while due to working with those games. If any of you have them, I hope you'll have as much fun as I intend to.
