Episode 58: Sora's Father
Several days have passed since taking care of the phony breeding center, and saving the stolen Pokémon from the Team Rocket agents Cassidy and Butch. In the meantime, it was business as usual. Kairi exchanged Rapidash and Blissey for Jigglypuff and Clefairy. Kairi took out her two Moon Stones and looked at them. She stroked her chin.
"Hm. I wonder if Jigglypuff and Clefairy are ready to evolve yet," Kairi said. She took out her two Pokéballs and tossed them. They came right out of the Pokéballs.
"Puff," Jigglypuff said.
"Fairy," Clefairy said.
"How do you feel about evolving?" Kairi asked. Jigglypuff and Clefairy looked at her and the Moon Stones. Jigglypuff and Clefairy saw how pretty the Moon Stones looked and touched them. Jigglypuff and Clefairy started to evolve. Clefairy has become a Clefable, and Jigglypuff has become a Wigglytuff. "Wow, you evolved at the same time. I guess you just liked how pretty the Moon Stones looked." She giggled.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Toge, Toge," Togepi chirped.
Unknown to Kairi, Sora and Pikachu watch their significant others with loving smiles on their faces.
"They're cute when they're like this, aren't they, buddy?" Sora asked.
"Pikachu," Pikachu agreed.
"What do you think, buddy? Should we give them the flowers now or later?" Sora asked.
"Pika," Pikachu said, taking out a bouquet of flowers, matching the colors of Kairi's Keyblade.
"You read my mind," Sora said, taking out a bouquet as well with the flowers in the same colors. Sora and Pikachu walked over to their girlfriends and handed them their flowers. "Pretty flowers for the pretty ladies?" Sora asked in a flirty tone.
"Pika, Pika, Pika?" Pikachu added in the same tone.
"Oh, they're so pretty. You boys are so sweet," Kairi said, taking the bouquet.
"Eevee," Angel said, taking the bouquet as well.
"Glad you like them, because if there's one thing that we love, it's seeing our girls happy. Right, Pikachu?" Sora asked.
"Pikachu," Pikachu agreed with a nod.
"Sora, you're so very sweet," Kairi said, wrapping her arms around Sora's neck and kissing him on the lips. Sora kisses her back. Pikachu and Angel nuzzles each other and then kiss each other. Wigglytuff and Clefable watches them with smiles on their faces.
Just then, they have a visitor. It is a young woman who has large blonde hair and lavender eyes. She wore a sleeveless light purple vest and a white tank top that exposed her midriff and wore long white fingerless gloves. She has a large set of breasts. She also wore a dark purple miniskirt. She grinned at the sight.
"Well, isn't this a wholesome sight?" The young woman asked. The couple turned to see her, standing there.
"Uh, how long have you've been standing there?" Sora asked.
"Oh, long enough to catch the best part, lover boy," the woman teased. "Putting the teasing aside, I came here looking for a battle, so how about it?"
"Which one of us are you challenging?" Kairi asked.
"Well, I'll just narrow down my options, and I'm going with you," the woman said, pointing at Kairi.
"Me?" Kairi asked.
"That's right. You. And we'll make it a three-on-three Pokémon battle," the woman stated. "Also, we'll battle until all three Pokémon are unable to continue battling."
"Oh, okay," Kairi said. She took out a Pokéball and she tossed it. "Go! Seel!" Her opponent took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Nidorina!" The woman called out. Her Nidorina emerged from inside and this Nidorina is the same color as Nidorino. Stars swirls around Nidorina upon entry. "Nidorina! Use Thunderbolt!" Nidorina fired Thunderbolt right at the Sea Lion Pokémon.
"Dodge and use Headbutt!" Kairi ordered. Seel darts towards Nidorina and lands a hit onto the Shiny Poison Pin Pokémon.
"Nidorina! Poison Fang!" The woman ordered. Nidorina heads towards Seel, landing a hit.
"Seel! Use Icy Wind!" Kairi ordered. Seel blew cold wind right at Nidorina, cutting down Nidorina's speed. "Use Water Gun!" Seel fired Water Gun right at Nidorina.
"Dodge and use Thunderbolt!" The woman ordered. Nidorina dodged and fired Thunderbolt right at Seel, shocking her. Seel rolled backwards and then started to evolve. Seel has become a Dewgong.
"Dewgong, gong," the newly evolved Dewgong said.
"A Dewgong," Kairi said, taking out her Pokédex and scanned her.

Dewgong loves to snooze on bitterly cold ice. The sight of this Pokémon sleeping on a glacier was mistakenly thought to be a mermaid by a mariner long ago.
"Dewgong! Use Use Aurora Beam!" Kairi ordered. Dewgong fired a beam of aurora right at Nidorina, dealing some damage. "Use Water Gun!" Dewgong fired Water Gun, dealing some extra damage. Nidorina has been taken down. The woman called Nidorina back.
"Okay, not bad. Also, your Seel evolving was unexpected. But let's see how your Dewgong handles my next Pokémon," the woman said, taking out another Pokéball and threw it. "Alright, Persian! Go!" Her Pokéball opened and her Persian emerged from inside. "Persian! Use Shadow Claw!" Persian rushed at Dewgong with Shadow Claw ready to strike.
"Dewgong! Dodge and use Ice Beam!" Kairi ordered. Dewgong dodged and fired Ice Beam right at the Classy Cat Pokémon.
"Dodge and use Shadow Claw again!" The woman ordered. Persian came at Dewgong and lands a hit onto her. "Use Power Gem!" Persian's forehead glows white and it fires a light-blue beam of energy with a bright white energy around it from the jewel at Dewgong, dealing some heavy damage, resulting in a knockout. Kairi called back her Dewgong.
"Get some rest, Dewgong. You earned it," Kairi said. She took out another Pokéball and threw it. She turned to Wigglytuff and Clefable. "Which one of you wants to have a go?"
"Tuff," Wigglytuff said, stepping forward.
"Fable?" Clefable asked.
"Okay, Wigglytuff. I have faith in you," Kairi said.
"Please. Your Wigglytuff is newly evolved, so it won't hold a candle against my Persian," the woman said.
"You'd be surprised," Kairi said. "Wigglytuff! Use Body Slam!" Wigglytuff jumped and heads down towards Persian.
"Dodge and use Power Gem!" The woman ordered. Persian dodged and fired Power Gem. Wigglytuff got hit by Power Gem. "Use Power Gem again!" Persian fired Power Gem once again.
"Dodge and use Sing!" Kairi ordered. Wigglytuff sang her song and multicolored music notes came out her mouth. The music notes surrounds Persian and it fell asleep. "Use Rollout!" Wigglytuff curls up into a ball and rolls towards Persian. Persian is hit hard Wigglytuff's rolling body. Wigglytuff came at Persian again and lands another hit. Wigglytuff came at Persian again and lands one more hit, resulting in a knockout. "You came through for the team, Wigglytuff!"
"Tuff," Wigglytuff said, blushing. The woman called back her Persian.
"Okay, I underestimated your Wigglytuff. I wasn't even going to bother with this one, but seeing how well you were able to hold your own, I wanna see how you'll handle it," the woman said, taking out a Pokéball and threw it. "Nidoqueen! Go!" Her Pokéball opened and her Nidoqueen emerged from inside. "Nidoqueen is my strongest Pokémon, but a fair warning. Nidoqueen's a Poison-type Pokémon, so Fairy-types are a bad choice to use."
"I know. But I'm ready for anything you can throw at me," Kairi said.
"Okay, but don't say I didn't warn you," the woman said. "Nidoqueen! Use Poison Jab!" Nidoqueen started to make her move.
"Wogglytuff! Dodge and use Body Slam!" Kairi ordered. Wigglytuff tried to dodge, but Nidoqueen came too fast for Wigglytuff to dodge and she got hit hard by Nidoqueen's punch attack. Kairi gasped as did Angel. "Wigglytuff!"
"Use Hyper Beam!" The woman ordered. Nidoqueen fired Hyper Beam, landing heavy damage. Wigglytuff has been taken down. Kairi called back Wigglytuff.
"You battled great, Wigglytuff. Get some rest," Kairi said. She was about to take out another Pokéball when Angel spoke up.
"Eevee!" Angel called out.
"Angel?" Kairi asked.
"Eevee, vee, vee, Eevee, Eevee, Eevee!" Angel said.
"You want to battle her, Angel?" Kairi asked.
"Vee," Angel nodded.
"Okay, Angel. I have faith in you. Go for it!" Kairi said. Angel stepped right in to battle.
"You're sending that little Eevee against my Nidoqueen?" The woman asked, laughing. "Your little Eevee won't stand a chance!"
"That's what you said about my Wigglytuff against your Persian, and look how that turned out," Kairi said. "Angel! Use Swift!" Angel fired Swift at Nidoqueen. It did little damage to her.
"Nidoqueen! Use Poison Jab!" The woman ordered. Nidoqueen ran towards Angel with Poison Jab.
"Dodge with Quick Attack!" Kairi called out. Angel dodged Nidoqueen's attack.
"Nidoqueen! Use Body Press!" The woman ordered. Nidoqueen came at Angel with her body coming down like a comet.
"Use Quick Attack!" Kairi ordered. Angel ran and Nidoqueen misses her completely. "Use Iron Tail!" Angel came right Nudoqueen and smacked her in the face.
"Nidoqueen! Use Hyper Beam!" The woman ordered. Nidoqueen opened her mouth and fired Hyper Beam right at the female Eevee.
"Angel!" Kairi called out. The attack came so fast as Angel uses her tail and sends her up in the air. The woman thought she had won it, but she was in shock to see Angel in the air.
"No way!" The woman gasped.
"Angel! Use Swift!" Kairi ordered. Angel fired Swift and the stars quickly surrounds her and they knick her like bullets being shot from a machine gun. "Wrap it up with Headbutt!" Angel came down fast and lands a hit onto Nidoqueen. Both Pokémon felt the pain and fell backwards. Nidoqueen had been taken down.
"I don't believe it. I lost," the woman said.
"Way to go, Angel!" Kairi said. Angel jumped into Kairi's arms and licked her face. Kairi giggled between the licks.
"Good work, Kairi," Sora said.
"Pika!" Pikachu said.
"Toge, Toge!" Togepi chirped." The woman walked up to Kairi.
"Not bad, Kairi, was it?" The woman asked.
"Yes. You gave me a real run for my money," Kairi said. "You're one of the toughest opponents I have ever had."
"You have some real spunk, kid. If you ever want to have another battle, you might as well hook me up," the woman said.
"But who are you, anyway?" Kairi asked.
"The name's Mai. Later," Mai said, taking off.
Night came as Sora and Kairi were getting ready for bed. Togepi slept between Pikachu and Angel like a baby sleeping between their parents. The other Pokémon slept closely with the Pokémon couple. Sora and Kairi looked at their Pokémon sweetly.
"It's really sweet, isn't it?" Kairi asked.
"It sure is," Sora agreed. "Togepi is a huge hit with the Pokémon. Especially with Angel."
"She loves Togepi as much as I do," Kairi said. "How about we fall right to sleep?"
"Yeah. Let's do that," Sora said. He and Kairi kissed each other and fell right to sleep. Sora didn't fall all the way asleep as he sighed, thinking about what his life would have been like if he knew his father. "Dad. I wish I really knew you." Sora fell right asleep. Sora drifts off to dreamland. He is sleeping soundly in his bed as a man walked into his room. He has a strong resemblance to Sora, only without the spikyhair. He gently places his hand on Sora's shoulder.
"Wake up, son," the man said, gently shaking his shoulder. "It's time for breakfast."
"Five more minutes," Sora said, sleepily. Sora then realized it wasn't his mother talking to him. He saw the man looking at him, and Sora knew who exactly it was. "Dad?"
"Yes, it's dad. Come on. Your sister is already up and she's downstairs and eating," Sora's father said. He stepped out as Sora got up from his bed. "How did I get here? Where are Kairi and our Pokémon?" He got dressed in his regular clothes. Just then, a hooded man appeared behind him.
"You did make this wish," the hooded man said, making Sora turn around in shock.
"Who are you?" Sora asked.
"You said you wished you knew your father, did you not?" The hooded man asked.
"How did you know this?" Sora asked.
"Is that really important? Come with me," the man said as the room vanishes and it takes Sora into the place Sora was in before he left for his journey.
"Where are we?" Sora asked.
"Like you have to ask. You know this place, don't you? It's your heart. We are inside your heart," the hooded man said.
"Inside my heart?" Sora asked.
"Yeah. You were here just before you left on your Pokémon journey, before you met her. Before you earned your Keyblade," the hooded man said. Sora summoned his Keyblade and held it firmly in his hand.
"How do you know about my Keyblade?" Sora asked. "Tell me that!"
"Why just tell you when I can easily keep you wondering and guessing? That's the mystery," the hooded man said.
"I'm not playing around, dude!" Sora exclaimed, pointing his Keyblade at him.
"I thought you were fun to play with," the hooded man said, summoning a Keyblade. It has a black handle with a silver spike in its pommel and a peculiar guard. The left half of the guard is blue with a small, silver section at its bottom, rectangular, and connects to both ends of the handle, while the right half is silver, curves outward slightly, and does not connect to the bottom of the handle. Its shaft is blue on its left half and yellow on its right half. The head of the blade is yellow and forms a large hook that curves to the left. Its teeth are comprised by three curved spikes lining the outer edge of the hook. The Keychain token is a blue and yellow five-pointed star with a small, circular gap in its center. This Keyblade is known as the Astral Blast. Sora came at him and they clashed Keyblades. The hooded swung the Astral Blast at Sora and he blocked with the Kingdom Key. Sora pushed back and they kept clashing Keyblades.
"You're sending me back!" Sora said.
"Don't you want to know what it's like to know what it'll be like to know your father, Sora? You have been wondering about it in your entire life," the hooded man said.
"I can say yeah, I have been wondering about it! But why are you butting in? Why are you in my heart? Who are you?" Sora asked, coming right at him. They clashed their Keyblades. The hooded man raised his Keyblade and fires white energy from the tip of the Keyblade, struck Sora. He rolls backwards. His Keyblade flies out of his hand and the hooded man catches it in his hand. He held both Keyblades points them at Sora.
"Have we calmed down?" The hooded man asked. He dismissed the Astral Blast and held the Kingdom Key in front of Sora. He took his Keyblade back and dismissed it.
"I don't need to live a dream to get to know him! Just the real thing!" Sora exclaimed.
"Just how did it feel to see his face and hear his voice?" The hooded man asked.
"It felt good. It was like he was right there with me. I would have like nothing more than have him alive! Because if he was alive, I would have introduced Kairi to him, and hope they'd get along just like her parents got along with me, and maybe have a Pokémon battle with him, not caring if I lost to him or not!" Sora said.
"He would be proud of you, kid," the hooded man said. He removed his hood to reveal his face. Sora was in shock to see the face of his father. "Just like I already am."
"Dad?" Sora asked.
"Yes, Sora. It's me," Sora's father said.
"Are you part of my dream, dad, or are you for real?" Sora asked.
"I could be a figment of your imagination, or maybe not. But either way, you're speaking right to me," Sora's father said.
"Why are you visiting me in my heart, dad? Tell me that at least," Sora said.
"Even though you didn't know me for real, but you knew me by voice, and the love I had for you and your sister. And when I look at you, I can tell you have potential of a Keyblade wielder and a Pokémon Trainer. I am proud of your accomplishments. But you still have a long way to go, son," Sora's father said.
"Dad," Sora said, feeling guilty about attacking him.
"Don't think about it, Sora. Just enjoy the time we have together," Sora's father said.
"All I ever wanted was to meet you, more than anything. I did wish that you were alive with me, and mom, and Karen. To be there for us, and I also wanted to introduce you to Kairi," Sora said, starting to cry.
"Sora, you can't try to change the past. What's done is done. When I was struck down by that car on my way home, the only thing that stuck with me was the fact we were going to be a family. I loved your mother more than life itself; the same can be said with you and Karen. I already have loved you both. The love I have for you is forever," Sora's father said. "You understand?" Sora nodded, confirming that he understands.
"Yeah, I get it," Sora said.
"And this Kairi girl seems to be right for you, son. It reminds me of me and your mother when we were younger. The wedding and the news of you being born were the happiest times of my life, and I couldn't trade those for anything," Sora's father said. The scene changes to see a possible scene that the whole family is at the dinner table. Sora looked at his father and he looked back at him, and ruffled his hair. The scene switches to the two of them playing catch in the yard. And then with Delia taking pictures. Sora then makes some funny faces much to Delia's annoyance. Kaito followed his son's lead by making faces along with him.
"Oh, you two," Delia said.
They laughed as the scene with Kairi and her family came over and Sora introduced his girlfriend to his parents and Sora's father gave his son's girlfriend a hug. Sora smiled at over how Kaito and Yuta are getting along with each other; the same can be said about Delia and Mirei. The scene fades as Sora's eyes are filled with happy tears. Kaito appeared before him again.
"Are you satisfied with your answer, Sora?" Kaito asked.
"Very satisfied, dad. It's exactly how I would picture it," Sora said. "I just wish it was real."
"Life isn't always fair, Sora. I just want you to make me a promise," Kaito said.
"Anything," Sora said.
"I want you to promise you will be there for Kairi just like I was for your mother," Kaito said.
"I promise, dad," Sora said. Kaito then starts to float up in the air. "Wait a minute. Where are you going? Wait! You can't leave again!"
"I never left you, Sora. And I never will. I am always with your mother, your sister, and with you. Always," Kaito said, vanishing.
"Dad! Wait! Come back!" Sora exclaimed. "Come back, please!"
It is now morning as Kairi looked over her boyfriend and saw tears in her boyfriend's eyes. Kairi shook Sora awake.
"Sora, wake up. Wake up, please," Kairi pleaded. Sora then woke up. He looked right at her. He knew she was real. "Are you alrig-" She was cut off when Sora suddenly hugged her tight. "Sora?"
"Kairi," Sora could only say.
"Sora, what's wrong?" Kairi asked.
"You got me," Sora said. Sora started to explain that he met his father in his dream. Kairi didn't know what to say when Sora told her about his father. "And that's how it ends. I didn't even know it was real or not."
"But it seems real to you, Sora," Kairi said.
"You think so?" Sora asked.
"I know so, Sora. I would love your dad the same way my parents loves you," Kairi said.
"Yeah, I can say my mom did love you, especially after Karen told her about you," Sora said. He chuckled nervously. Kairi placed her hand on Sora's shoulder.
"Your family is wonderful, Sora. And I know your dad is a good guy," Kairi said. That made Sora smile.
A little later, Sora exchanged Porygon2, Dragonair, Exeggutor, Arbok, Weezing, Electrode, Hypno, and Lickitung for Kabuto, Shellder, Tentacool, Magnemite, Onix, Meowth, Rhyhorn, and Aerodactyl. Sora took out a Water Stone and threw the Pokéball containing Shellder. The Bivalve Pokémon emerged from inside.
"Okay, Shellder. You ready to evolve?" Shellder nodded and Sora placed the Water Stone in front of Shellder. His tongue touches the Water Stone, causing Shellder to evolve. Shellder has become a Cloyster.
"Cloyster," the newly evolved Cloyster said.
"Okay, let's get down to training," Sora said. With that said, Sora and Kairi started to train. As they trained, Meowth, Rhyhorn, Tentacool, Magnemite, and Kabuto started to evolve. After taking a break, Sora took out a Metal Coat and gave it to Onix, began to evolve into a Steelix. "Congratulations, Steelix."
The newly evolved Steelix gave off a roar after evolving.
Unknown to them, a hooded figure watches them. The hooded figure turns out to be Kaito. He vanishes in a ghostly aura and he appeared in Pallet Town and he sees Delia watering her flowers and she hummed.
"Delia. You're just as beautiful as the last time I saw you. After all these years, I still love you, Delia," Kaito said. Delia turned to the direction Kaito is standing, but sees nothing.
"Kaito?" Delia asked.
"Mr. Mime?" Mimey asked with concern. Delia turned to the Mr. Mime looking at her with worry. "Mime, Mime, Mime."
"I'm fine, Mimey," Delia said. She smiled. She turned to the same direction. "Kaito? Is that you? No, it couldn't be."
A breeze blows as Kaito is still invisible to the world. He smiled before he disappeared to where he came from. Could this be a ghost? Or it could be something close to a Heartless? Just wait and see when we continue the journey.
