Pokémon: Sinnoh no Isekai

Chapter One-hundred and forty-seven: Scornful moves, part two

The heroes, after waking up to discover that N and his companions Anthea and Concordia had 'used magic to vanish into the ether' (Kenny's way of putting it) while the rest of them were asleep, made their way over to the Dragonspiral Tower in the distance, having seen it in the distance after they woke up. Upon arriving, the heroes all marveled at the Dragonspiral tower, Iris especially so, when an assistant of one of the Juniper professors came driving up to the heroes in a jeep. "Hey-o, you're the kids that Cedric said helped him and his daughter," the assistant said, "The younger Professor Juniper."

The heroes all turned to look at the assistant in the jeep. "Which Juniper do you work for?" Trip asked.

"Professor Cedric Juniper," the assistant replied, "He and a few of the lads are over at the White Ruins. I can take you all over to see him."

Kenny nodded in knowing understanding. "Ah yes, I would be interested in seeing him," Kenny said as he and the others got into the jeep. Due to somewhat limited seating, some of the heroes had to sit on each others' laps; by sheer coincidence, Dawn ended up having to sit on Trip's lap. It was rather awkward for them, considering how in their previous life Dawn and Trip were older brother and younger sister respectively, but now their genders are reversed and they're roughly the same biological age as each other.

The rules of isekai can be weird like that sometimes.

...

Upon the arrival of the heroes at the White Ruins, they got out of the jeep and began marveling at what all work is being done outside of the ruins, what with Golurks, Timburrs, and a few Conkeldurrs helping with doing heavy lifting. They were then directed to the ruins themselves, going inside where they spotted Cedric talking to a few of his other assistants. Seeing that they hadn't noticed the arrival of his group yet, Kenny called out, "Word up with thee, Daddy Juniper?"

Cedric perked up the instant he heard Kenny refer to him as 'Daddy Juniper' and, turning around, saw Kenny and the rest of the heroes. "...Yes yes, I know I had that coming," Cedric replied, then settled down a bit more and addressed the heroes as a whole. "Anyway, I'm glad that you all are here. These are the White Ruins, which I believe are connected to the legendary Pokémon Reshiram." Gesturing to a door with sliding blocks on it, Cedric went on, "This door, I believe, holds a relic of great importance to Reshiram and its it."

"Ooh, a sliding block puzzle!" Kenny said as he walked up to the door and began sliding the blocks around. Cedirc was about to object, but stopped short when Kenny, in roughly half the time Cedric thought that he himself would have needed, was able to solve the sliding block puzzle and make the door open.

After the door opened, it revealed to Cedric and the heroes a large, nearly spherical chamber. In the center of the chamber was a white spherical stone roughly the size of a softball; Dawn knew it to be the Light Stone. Cedric was able to tell what it was as well, for he exclaimed, "Aha, the Light Stone!" The older Juniper then tried to go right on in to just grab the stone, but was stopped by Dawn holding her hand out.

Turning to look at Dawn Cedric asked, "What's wrong, Dawn?"

"...You were gonna just go in and grab it, weren't you?" Dawn asked as she took out a pokéball and tossed it up, calling out her named Lucario, Leni, in the process. "Just grabbing it might set off some manner of trap," Dawn said, "What we saw at the last ruins we had visited has me a bit cautious." Dawn then pointed the Light Stone out to Leni. "Leni, use Psychic to grab a hold of that white spherical stone over there and levitate it over to me."

Leni nodded in understanding obedience and proceeded to do as Dawn said, levitating the Light Stone over to where Dawn and Cedric stood in the doorway leading into the chamber. When the Light Stone was about halfway over to Dawn, it suddenly became engulfed in flames as a pillar of fire was shot out of the chamber, really a dormant volcano, going on to break through the clouds above. The fire around the Light Stone settled down enough for Cedric to safely grab it when Leni was trying to float it over to Dawn's waiting grasp. Seeing Cedric grab something she was trying to bring to Dawn drew an annoyed look and likewise growl out of the named Lucario.

Outside of the White Ruins over at the campsite that was set up, Cedric regaled the heroes with a tale relating to the White Ruins and the Light Stone. "Long ago," began the older Professor Juniper, "The legendary Pokémon Reshiram had a bond of friendship with a hero it had deemed to be pure of heart. However, the purity of the hero's heart would soon be lost in the riches that they stood to gain."

"Hence why Reshiram's relationship with the hero ended up floundering," N called out, surprising the heroes and making them all turn to see N come walking on over to the campsite.

"Ah, N," Ash said, "Glad to see you again."

"A friend of yours, kids?" Cedric asked, "Well either way, I bet that he'd be interested to hear how I plan to study and analyze the Light Stone which we had recovered from the White Ruins-"

Cedric was cut off when N said, "Yeah, Imma stop you right there. The White Stone, believe it or not, is a living being, not a scientific oddity to be analyzed. You do it a grave disrespect by treating it as nothing more than a subject to analyze and study 'for research'." N then grabbed the Light Stone and attempted to run off with it, surprising the heroes and making Ash get up to try giving chase.

...However, it should be noted that there's emphasis placed on N attempting to run off with the Light Stone because Dawn, who still had Leni out, had her named Lucario use Psychic to grab a hold of N and pull him back. N saw that he wasn't going to get away, but he still refused to let go of the light Stone. "Daddy Juniper is going to use his finding to help strengthen the bonds between people and Pokémon," Kenny said, "It's no mere 'scientific oddity' as you think Daddy Juniper thinks it to be."

Giving N a serious look, Ash said, "We mean better than what you may think."

...

N had settled down and was now sitting around a campfire with the heroes, although the Light Stone was still in his grasp. "...I'm wanting for Anthea and Concordia to see what all I have seen," N said, "That not all humans are cruel and abusive towards Pokémon."

"Do not tell him about pre-redemption arc Paul," Kenny thought, "Do not tell him about pre-redemption arc Paul, do NOT tell him about pre-redemption arc Paul!"

Ash was about to speak up, but he was cut off when everyone at the camp heard the shouting of a large number of people closing in. Soon, the heroes and Cedric's camp were surrounded by members of Team Scorn. To the infuriation of Bianca, she spotted Admin Swordsman among the number, with his First Captain, Hiroaki, right next to him. Captain's Assistant Ayana and Admin's Assistant Haruka stood behind their respective officers who they assist. Additionally, the heroes spotted Colress, a remote in his hand to activate an EM Wave device, standing next to the Officer's Assistants.

Pointing at the heroes, Swordsman said, "Alright, look. We know that you guys have the Light Stone, so hand it over."

"Not so fast, villains!" the assistant who drove the heroes over to the White Ruins called out, taking off his outfit in a flourish, revealing that he was actually Looker the entire time, having worn his regular outfit underneath his disguise. "You sorry lot from Team Scorn will be coming in for questioning!" Looker declared.

"I don't think so, officer," Colress called out, before activating his remote to turn on his new EM Wave machine which was hidden nearby, to control all wild Pokémon in the immediate vicinity. Right away, the heroes fought back by sending out Pokémon of their own to fight off the brainwashed and crazy wild Pokémon, but Colress called out, "I will not hesitate to use my device to control your Pokémon as well, especially if Champion Dawn tries calling out her Palkia!"

"Her companions Kenny and Trip own Giratina and Dialga respectively as well," Swordsman pointed out to Colress, "If either of them tries bringing out their legendary dragons, control what Pokémon they have out before they're able to bust out the big guns."

Colress nodded in agreement as the heroes, realizing that Team Scorn had them routed, recalled their Pokémon who they had out. Team Scorn then went about binding everyone with thick metal bands, taking all of them hostage. This allowed for Haruka to safely retrieve the Light Stone from N, having seen it and figuring it to be the Light Stone. "I... was about to ask Hiroaki and Ayana to collect the Light Stone, but this works too," Swordsman admitted, "You're good at taking initiative, Haruka."

Haruka, as she handed the Light Stone over to Swordsman, replied, "No problem, Swordsman."

"You guys can't do this!" N cried out, "You're planning to ressurect Reshiram and use it to further your own goals, aren't you?"

Swordsman, after handing the Light Stone off to Colress to have him begin the ceremony to revitalize Reshiram, turned back to look at N. "Oh, you'd be more surprised than you'd assume to know what Team Scorn's really after."

As the ritual to awaken Reshiram was continued, a mysterious fog rolled in at the White Ruins. Suddenly, the heroes and N heard Anthea and Concordia call out to N from the mist. "N, we must get you out of here," Anthea called out, as a Magical Leaf attack broke the bonds on N.

"Team Scorn is trying to awaken Reshiram," N called back, "They're going to recreate the tragedy that we saw two years ago! Please! If we don't stop Team Scorn's evil here, I won't learn why Reshiram had been so angry! We won't be able to see humans and Pokémon work together in harmony!"

"...Very well," Concordia said as she and Anthea emerged from the fog, their Gardevoir and Gothitelle in tow.

However, Colress turned and used his EM Wave device on the two psychic Pokémon, bringing them under his control and using them to subdue Anthea and Concordia. "No one will stop us now," Colress said, "Especially given how we're so close to seeing to Reshiram being revitalized!" The ritual surrounding the Light Stone proceeded to make it glow, causing it to float up and vibrate with power. Suddenly, it expanded and unfurled, releasing more and more power as it did so. Soon, a blinding flash of light engulfed the area, making most everyone there cry out in surprise.

When the light faded and everyone was able to see again, they saw to their worry that Reshiram, the legendary Pokémon, had been revitalized, fully awakened from its dormant state of the Light Stone. The Vast White Pokémon let out a roaring cry as it had been awakened once more. As the heroes looked on, Axew who was hiding in Iris's hair had broken Iris's bonds and began getting to work on Cilan's bonds. So distracted with Reshiram's resurrection that Iris and Cilan, as well as the other heroes and even Team Scorn, did not notice Axew's actions.

The Team Scorn higher ups that were on scene, however, were pleased with the results that they got. "Reshiram!" Swordsman called out, getting the Vast White Pokémon to turn to look at him, "Allow me to be the first to not only welcome you back to the world, but also welcome you as a new addition to Team Scorn!"

"There's no way Reshiram will willingly work with villains like you!" N cried out, "Not even that foul technology that you're using to brainwash and control other Pokémon will work on Re-"

*plink*

*bwoosh*

N was cut off when he and the others heard the sound of a pokéball of some kind being thrown, right before Reshiram was taken into a pokéball of some kind as said ball fell to the ground to begin shaking as it tried capturing Reshiram. To the worry of the heroes, it was a Master Ball which, given that it's a Master Ball which always works to catch a Pokémon guaranteed, successfully caught the Vast White Pokémon. After Reshiram was caught, Boss's Assistant Ayane came out from the surrounding forest with a few Team Scorn grunts following her. Going over to where the Master Ball containing Reshiram sat on the ground, Ayane picked it up, then turned to look over at the shocked heroes.

"...Well alright," Ayane said in a devious, knowing tone as she gave a likewise smirk, "I caught Reshriam."

"Ayane!" Dawn called out, "Why are you doing this?! Do you realize how much you're endangering the world by working with Team Scorn and catching a powerful legendary Pokémon to use to further their goals?!"

Ash, knowing some of the tale since Trip had told him, gave Ayane a knowing look. "...So that's the girl who was set up to try capturing Dialga back in Sinnoh, huh?"

"Oh, you know about me?" Ayane asked Ash, having heard what he said, "Makes sense, given that you're clearly one of Dawn's companions. But I digress." Ayane then shrank the Master Ball containing her Reshiram and put it away on her belt where the balls holding the rest of her on hand team resided. "Well anyway, now that I have done my part, I'll be taking off and letting the lads here clean up shop."

"Oh?" N asked in a mildly sarcastic tone, "You aren't going to stick around? Take your new Pokémon for a test drive?"

"I know full well you're trying to egg me on," Ayane said to N, "And it's not going to work. I've captured Reshiram, so now I need to report the success of that mission." Ayane then turned around and took off, the Team Scorn grunts who followed her taking off with her.

After Ayane was gone, Team Scorn began closing in on the heroes, only for Iris and Cilan to get up suddenly, their bonds having been broken. "But how?" Hiroaki called out, "How did they esca-"

"Axew-ew!" Iris's Axew called out, drawing the attention of everyone as he bashed the EM Wave machine Colress's new device was drawing from with Dragon Rush, destroying it and freeing all brainwashed Pokémon from Team Scorn's control.

Colress scoffed bitterly. "That Axew has destroyed my EM Wave machine! Now I can't control the Pokémon that our adversaries will try using against us!"

Anthea and Concordia were relieved as their Gardevoir and Gothitelle regained their sense of selves. Immediately, the girls tried having their psychic Pokémon fight back against Team Scorn, but Swordsman and Haruka had their Sceptile and Liepard intercept Gardevoir and Gothitelle respectively; Sceptile's Leaf Blade scored a crit on Gardevoir which knocked it out, and Gothitelle likewise fell in battle after taking a critical Night Slash from Liepard.

It was as Anthea and Concordia were taken out of the fight that the rest of the heroes were freed of their bonds by Axew, allowing them to join the fight. With the EM Wave machine busted, the heroes were free to use their Pokémon to fight back against Team Scorn. Dawn, Kenny, and Trip were able to speed things up by sending out Tsukune, Black, and Deelia, quickly wiping out what little resistance Team Scorn was able to mount. Although Pokémon sent out by the rest of the heroes played a big role in defeating Team Scorn's presence at the White Ruins as well.

Bianca's shiny Haxorus, Iris's Dragonite, Cilan's Crustle, and especially Ash's Charizard quickly dealt with Team Scorn; Bianca took note of how Ash's Charizard, during the heroes' struggles against Team Scorn at the White Ruins, was actually able to sweep all three of Swordsman's Pokémon, as well as Haruka's Liepard and the Lillipup that Haruka sent out after Liepard went down. Ash's Charizard was able to, all on its own, take out Haruka's Liepard and Lillipup, and Swordsman's Sceptile, Aegislash, and Gallade as well.

Within short order, all of the Pokémon that all present members of Team Scorn had were taken out, leaving the heroes victorious. But the great effort had exhausted them to the point that they wouldn't be able to apprehend any Team Scorn members. "...So we lost a battle," Swordsman said, "But it's a defeat that will ultimately lead to seeing Team Scorn win the war."

"You guys are gonna declare war?!" Kenny exclaimed.

Rolling his eyes while giving an exasperated sigh, Swordsman clarified, "I was using a metaphor, you moron! Team Scorn has no plans to declare actual war on anyone! Not yet, at least." Straightening up, Swordsman went on, "Given that all of you were kept here, Boss's Assistant Ayane was able to get away with her new catch. Now Team Scorn has an effective answer to when Dawn, Kenny, and Trip try to get up in the face of Team Scorn when we're trying to carry out our plans."

"You do realize that you won't get away with this," Dawn said, "The world at large is gonna soon learn that Team Scorn now has access to a Pokémon comparable to Palkia, Giratina, and Dialga. Everyone is going to be far more on guard, will prep far more, in order to compensate. Rather than give yourselves the ability to meet me, Kenny, and Trip on even footing, all that you Team Scorn jerks had accomplished here was paint a larger target on your backs."

"...We'll see," Swordsman replied, turning to leave, with the rest of Team Scorn, including Colress, leaving with him. Although the heroes were able to fight off and defeat the Team Scorn members at White Ruins, it wasn't without seeing Team Scorn succeed in seeing Ayane capture Reshiram. The level of threat that Team Scorn presented to the rest of the world at large had just significantly gone up. This was an update that Dawn and the others knew they had to share with other persons who were in on the efforts being made against Team Scorn.

All that the heroes could do now was clean up and try to deal with things the way that they are now.

Later at a nearby town, the heroes, Cedric and his camp, and Looker saw off N, Anthea, and Concordia as the three of them left on a journey to create their ideal world, where humans and Pokémon can live side by side in harmony and truly understand one another. After N and the girls were gone, the heroes, Cedric and his camp, and Looker were met up by members of the international police. It was there that Looker, with great regret, informed the international police that Team Scorn's threat level had just significantly gone up with them having successfully captured the legendary Pokémon Reshiram.

"...I'm sorry," an international police woman said, "But did you say that a high ranking member of Team Scorn had caught a legendary Pokémon?"

Looker nodded in the affirmative. "Indeed. Caught it with a Master Ball, same as a normal trainer would capture a Pidove with a standard red and white pokéball."

The international police woman let out a long sigh. "...Well damn. Villainous teams from our experience tend to use relics and or technological devices to control legendary Pokémon, and inevitably fail in the end. But Team Scorn here did what Sinnoh Champion Dawn Berlitz and her companions Kenny Harris and Trip Barley had done and straight up captured a legendary Pokémon like any trainer would capture a normal Pokémon." The international police woman dragged her right hand down over her face. "...This is bad. Like, really, really bad."

"Well it looks like me, Trip, and Dawn have just become a lot more important," Kenny said, "We're the only ones with Pokémon who can fight Reshiram on equal footing. I mean, who else aside from us owns a Pokémon that can go toe to toe with Reshiram?"

...

After things had settled down and the heroes were grabbing a late dinner before turning in for the night, they saw a news report on a wall mounted TV at the restaurant they were eating at. Said news report stated how Ideku Badorigo, the trainer who had won the most recent Vertress Conference, had successfully defeated Unova Champion Alder in an official title match after earning the right to said match after defeating the Unova elite four. This meant that the roaming trainer from Johto had officially become the newest Pokémon League Champion of the Unova region.

The heroes, as they saw Ideku on the news report being congratulated as his named Meganium Meganie stood next to him, were surprised to see Ideku having scored such a triumph. "Well hot dang," Kenny said, "There's some good news to relieve some burden from the bad news we saw earlier. Our bud Ideku is now the Champion of Unova. Good for him."

"I'm actually a bit worried for Ideku," Cilan admitted, concern in his tone and expression.

Hearing Cilan's tone and seeing his expression, the others all turned to look at him. "...Is there something wrong with Ideku becoming the Champion of Unova?" Dawn asked, her curiosity piqued.

Sighing, Cilan said, "First, let me say that I hold no such views myself, but I'm worried that the people of Unova as a whole may not like the idea of our region's newest champion being foreign born."

That immediately caught the attention of Ash and the reborn trainers. "Unovans don't want a foreigner as their region's league champion?" Dawn asked, sounding a little bit on the offended side of things.

"Unovans as a whole don't like the idea of any position of importance and or authority in Unova being held by someone who isn't Unova born and raised," Cilan explained, "Mind you, I hold no such views myself as I personally have no problem with someone who is foreign born being in a position of importance and or authority here in Unova, such as with Ideku becoming the Champion of Unova."

Turning to look as Iris, Bianca, and Trip, Ash asked them, "You guys have no problem with Ideku being Unova's champion despite how he was born and raised in Johto, do you?"

"I personally have no problem with it," Trip immediately replied.

Gently shaking her head, Bianca said, "I don't see a problem with Ideku being Unova's champion now. Especially since he's proven to be on the hunt for any Team Scorn activity."

"I don't have a problem with foreigners in positions of importance and or authority here in Unova," Iris began, "But I do have concerns with Ideku specifically being the new Unova champion."

"Oh come on, Iris!" Ash complained.

"He withheld from pretty much everyone the fact that he had caught Enamorus!" Iris pointed out, "Info on how one had caught a legendary Pokémon is not something that one withholds from others!" Folding her arms over her chest, Iris said, "I don't see how we can trust someone who withholds important information like that from others! And who knows what else he's withholding from us, as well as everyone else!"

...

Ideku was alone in a hotel room at a high end hotel room, relaxing after having just officially become the newest Champion of the Unova region. The roaming trainer from Johto had at long last accomplished his goal of becoming a region's Champion. Not only did he defeat the Unova elite four and (former) Champion Alder, but Ideku had done so without ever having to use Schwarz, his named Zekrom. Ideku did, however, use Cupidos, his named Enamorus, but then again his ownership of Cupidos had already been revealed to Unova at large.

Cupidos made the challenge to the Unova Pokémon League loads easier, as she alone swept the teams of two of the four members of the Unova elite four. But regardless of how hard or easy things were for him to get to where he was now, it didn't change where Ideku was now; sitting on the Champion's Throne of Unova. Alone save for his on hand Pokémon which were all in their balls, Ideku pulled out his phone and pulled up a number in his contacts list. After pressing the 'call' button to automatically call up the number he selected, Ideku held the phone to the side of his head as he laid on the one bed in the hotel room.

After a few seconds, the other end picked up. "...Hello?" the familiar voice of Katsuku, Ideku's older brother, replied.

"Katsuku?" Ideku said, "It's me, Ideku."

"Ideku! Dude!" Katsuku replied, "What's up? I haven't heard from you since I last saw you over here in Blackthorn City!"

"You're back in Blackthorn City?" Ideku said, "Was Blackthorn City Academy fixed up fully that fast?"

Katsuku gave a bit of a chuckle. "No, it's still shot to shit," Katsuku replied, "Those Team Scorn fuckers really did a number. The front office building is particularly ruined, but I think damage that Champion Dawn's friend Kenny did with his Tyranitar is mostly responsible for that."

"But you're in Blackthorn City," Ideku said.

"Yeah, me and Justin are visiting one of our schoolmates who lives in Blackthorn City," Katsuku explained, "Anyway, what are you up to?"

Ideku took in a bit of a nervous breath. "...Umm, have you seen or heard any news out of Unova?" Ideku asked, "Especially recent news within the last day or two?"

After a few moments of silence, Katsuku replied, "Oh, Justin and I did see a breaking news report that apparently, a high ranking member of Team Scorn had successfully captured a legendary Pokémon called Reshiram, which is said to be on par with the legendary Pokémon Palkia that Champion Dawn owns. Already people the world over are panicking at the idea that those Team Scorn jokers now have a Pokémon that can go toe to toe with Champion Dawn's best."

"Someone in Team Scorn caught a powerful legendary Pokémon?!" Ideku exclaimed, his tone and expression clearly surprised although Katsuku could only hear Ideku's tone and words. Sighing, Ideku replied, "Sorry, that's the first I'm hearing of that. I've... actually been busy since I won the annual Vertress Conference."

"...That's the Pokémon League tournament over in Unova that nets one the right to challenge Unova's Pokémon League should they win," Katsuku said, sounding surprised, "You actually won it, bro?"

"Yeah, and I did in fact challenge the Unova Pokémon League after winning the Vertress Conference," Ideku explained. The younger Badorigo brother then went into detail about how he won not just against the Unova elite four, but also against Alder.

"You're the Champion of Unova now?!" Katsuku practically exclaimed, "Holy shit, Ideku! That is awesome! Congratulations!"

Ideku, feeling that he wouldn't get such warm wards of congratulations from his parents, nodded once. "...Thanks, Katsuku."

"And you even own a legendary Pokémon of your own now," Katsuku went on, "Yeah, you've clearly blown me, all of my classmates, and all of our schoolmates in our rival class clear out of the water. I still have no fucking clue what prompted our parents to get a Beedril in their collective undies about you, but what all you've been able to do and get, by your own merits, should make them finally shut up and accept you and care about you, same as they've always done for me."

Ideku was happy to hear that at least one of the members of his family supported and cared about him. "...If what all I've done isn't enough for them, then I don't know what would be," Ideku said.

"Imma tell Justin about what all you've done," Katsuku said, "Maybe we'll find videos of it on the internet. When we inevitably spread the word to the rest of our classmates and the members of our rival class, it'll take the student populace of Blackthorn City Academy by storm." The two brothers talked for a bit more before Ideku had to hang up. Putting his phone away, Ideku continued to lay on the bed in his hotel room and just... just stare up at the ceiling. It still felt surreal to him that he had actually accomplished his long-held goal of becoming a region's Champion. But for now, he just wanted to rest.

Rest and figure out what he was going to do next.

END, CHAPTER ONE-HUNDRED AND FORTY-SEVEN

Author's notes;

This chapter sees the shenanigans involving Reshiram wrap up, but for a turn for the worst as Team Scorn succeeds in their scheme to have Ayane capture Reshiram. This development now puts Team Scorn at a significantly higher level of threat to the rest of the world at large, as it's something that will prompt the reborn trainers to keep their respective legendary dragons on hand at all times.

Spirits are lifted afterwards when the heroes learn that Ideku successfully became the Champion of Unova, although they're dashed a bit when the heroes and Ash learn that Unovans as a whole don't like foreigners being in positions of authority and or importance in Unova, although Cilan, Bianca, and Iris have no problem with foreigners in said potions. Iris has issues with Ideku specifically, but it's due to him having withheld how he had caught Enamorus.

Speaking of Ideku, he has a private phone call with his older brother Katsuku and tells him of what he's accomplished in Unova. Katsuku is sincerely impressed and give his younger brother the praise Ideku suspects their parents wouldn't. The call ends, and Ideku wonders just what lays ahead for him. It's something that you readers will have to wait for as well, as the next chapter will continue some business in Unova.
