Episode 65: Uno, Dos, Moltres
Here's a fun fact:
Moltres's Japanese name is Fire, so for that reason, I have named the volcano after Moltres's Japanese name. And this is the chapter that will conclude the battles with the legendary bird Pokémon before we go on.
Night comes to Pallet Town as everyone gets settled for bed. After Sora has blew Kairi a goodnight kiss, he sleeps soundly. Pikachu also sleeps soundly. Blossom enters Sora's room and steps inside. Pikachu's ears perked up, and turned to see his sister.
"What's the matter, can't sleep?" - Pikachu subtitle.
"How can I sleep, knowing not only I found my brother, but I get a Trainer, too. I'll admit, I only expected to find you, big brother." - Blossom subtitle. Pikachu smiled.
"I never expected that I get to meet you, sis. It's been so long, hasn't it? Just what do you remember about us?" - Pikachu subtitle.
"What I remember is back when you and I were just Pichu. We were so inseparable. I remember all the times we used to play together, and when some bully Pokémon took the apple I was eating, you gave me half of yours to get me to stop crying. I felt like the luckiest Pokémon in the world, because I had such a wonderful big brother." - Blossom subtitle. Pikachu did start to remember those moments with his sister. He looked at the flower.
"And what about that blue flower? Did I give that to you?" - Pikachu subtitle.
"You did. You got it for me because you said it will look pretty on me, and I loved it ever since." - Blossom subtitle. Pikachu knew he was right to ask that.
"Lucky me, right?" - Pikachu subtitle.
"Also, I saw you with that Eevee. Are you she a couple?" - Blossom subtitle.
"Yeah, we are. Angel is just the sweetest Pokémon I have ever met in my life. She always had my back, and I had hers." - Pikachu said, blushing.
"She must be wonderful. I want you to know, I want to see you happy with whichever Pokémon you choose." - Blossom subtitle. She hugged her big brother. Pikachu hugged her back.
"Thanks a lot, Blossom. I really appreciate it, Blossom." - Pikachu subtitle.
Pikachu and Blossom fell alseep together, like it was their days as Pichu.
Over to Mount Fire, several Pokémon Trainers came to capture Moltres, and they were overwhelmed the Pokémon battling the bird of fire. Moltres fired Flamethrower right at the Pokémon, resulting in a series of knockouts. They called back their fallen Pokémon and retreated off of the volcano.
The sun raises as Sora woke up with a yawn. He sees Pikachu and Blossom sleeping together.
"Kairi will love seeing those two getting so close," Sora said. He snuck out quietly and he closed the door. Just then, Mimey vacuums Sora's face once again. "Mimey, not again!"
"Mr. Mime!" Mimey said. He chuckled once more.
"How is it that I'm for the moron trio, and not for Mimey's vacuum attack?" Sora asked.
Sora came down stairs, seeing Ventus, Terra, and Aqua get well acquainted with their new Pikachu.
"Morning. You see Blossom?" Karen asked.
"Yeah, she's with her brother," Sora said. "It's best you don't wake them up right now." Pikachu and Blossom came downstairs to join them for breakfast. "Good morning, you two. Glad you can join us."
"Pika, Pika!" Pikachu said.
"Pi, Pika," Blossom said.
Just when Sora joins in for breakfast, a knock is heard on the door. Mimey answered the door.
"Mr. Mime," Mimey said.
"Sora, are you home?" Professor Oak asked.
"In here!" Sora said.
"Sora, good! I wanted to see you!" Professor Oak said, walking in.
"What is it?" Sora asked.
"And what brings you here early this morning?" Karen asked.
"Sora, I came to inform you that a Moltres has been sighted!" Professor Oak said.
"Moltres?" Sora and Karen asked.
"Yes. Ever since you caught Articuno and Zapdos, I have been paying attention to the signs of Moltres, and I managed to find it!" Professor Oak said.
"Just where was Moltres sighted, professor?" Aqua asked.
"Moltres was sighted right around Mount Fire. Rumor states that Trainers have battled, and attempted to capture it," Professor Oak said. "So, I'm asking you to look into this for me."
Sora thought about it for a moment, he had to train for the Pokémon League tournament, but he couldn't ignore the sighting of the legendary bird Pokémon of fire, so he had to consider it.
"Okay, I'll go look right for it," Sora said.
"Wonderful," Professor Oak said. "And thank you so much. And I want to say, sorry for interrupting your training."
"Not a problem," Sora said.
Over to Kairi's house, Kairi is brushing Angel's fur, much to her delight.
"Does that feel good, Angel?" Kairi asked.
"Vee," Angel said.
A knock came from downstairs. Yuta answered the door and sees Sora at the front door.
"Sora, good morning. Kairi did say you were going to train for the Pokémon League," Yuta said. He smiled. "You can come in and wait if you want."
"Thanks," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
They step inside the house to wait for Kairi, Angel, and Togepi.
Meanwhile, Mirei is sitting in the baby's room, rocking. She has her hand on her belly.
"I can't wait until I get to meet you, little one. We're all looking forward in meeting you," Mirei said. She felt a kick coming from inside. "Oh! You're anxious to come out, aren't you?" Kairi, Angel, and Togepi walked by, so Mirei noticed. "Kairi, come here! I felt the baby kick. Feel!" Kairi went in, and placed her hand on her mom's pregnant belly. Kairi's face lit up when she felt the kick.
"Hey in there. I'm looking forward in meeting you," Kairi said. Kairi cooed and did some baby talk. Yuta, Sora, and Pikachu came up stairs and they smiled warmly at the sight. Mirei sees the boys and Sora playfully shushes her. Mirei knew he was gonna surprise. Kairi turns and sees Sora. "Hi, Sora. When did you get here?"
"A little while ago. Anyway, there's a reason I'm here. Professor Oak says there's a Moltres sighted around Mount Fire," Sora said.
"Mount Fire?" Kairi asked. "Okay."
Sora and Kairi got ready to head for Mount Fire to have encounter Moltres. Sora has decided to use Water and Rock-type Pokémon. Sora has Blastoise, Golem, Rhydon, Kingler, Cloyster, Tentacruel, Kabutops, Aerodactyl, Slowbro, Lapras, and Poliwrath.
Kairi has, Vaporeon, Jolteon, Politoed, Omanyte, Seaking, Starmie, Dewgong, Kingdra, Slowking, and Raichu.
Just after they got set, Ventus wanted to come along, but Sora says otherwise.
"Oh, come on, Sora. I wanna come with you," Ventus said.
"Not this time, Ven. It'll be too hot for you to handle," Sora said.
"I wanna see you catch Moltres!" Ventus said.
"You got to see me catch Articuno, also I don't want you to see you get hurt by Moltres's fire," Sora said.
"But-" Ventus tried to argue back.
"No buts. And I am not going to argue this with you! Besides, you should play with Sparky," Sora said. Ventus thought for a moment and he knew Sora was right.
"Okay, I'll play with Sparky," Ventus said.
"Good," Sora said, ruffling his cousin's hair. He laughed.
"Sora, before you go, I have packed a lunch for you," Delia said.
"Thanks, mom," Sora said, taking the picnic basket. Sora stepped out and sees Kairi holding a picnic basket. "Your mom made that?"
"My dad made it actually. He thought we could use a meal in case we get hungry," Kairi said.
"Our parents are looking out for us," Sora said. "Making sure that we eat." Sora and Kairi laughed.
Sora and Kairi got everything set, and began to head for Mount Fire, with Professor Oak assisting. Driving the car is a man, wearing sunglasses. It took them two hours to get there.
"And there it is. Mount Fire," Professor Oak said.
"Mount Fire is where Moltres is sighted, right?" Sora asked.
"Indeed, Mount Fire is an active volcano even up to this date. Fire-type Pokémon have made their homes around this area, especially Magby, Magmar, and Magmortar. This volcano is millions of years old," Professor Oak said.
"Where is Moltres exactly?" Sora asked.
"It has to be inside the volcano. That's the most logical location," Professor Oak said.
Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Togepi, and Professor Oak climbs up the volcano to where Moltres is occupied.
The driver is sitting in the car. He took out a smartphone and dailed the number.
"The boy and girl are making their move," the driver said.
"Good. Stay where you are," the caller said.
"Right," the driver said. He hung up, and waited for the trio to come back.
Back in Pallet Town, Ventus and Sparky were playing in the backyard. They played catch with each other. Ventus and Sparky laughed as they played with each other. Delia watches her nephew and new Pikachu play with each other.
"It does my heart good to see Ventus with his first Pokémon," Delia said in her thoughts. She sighed. "Kaito, I wish you could meet Danny's son. You would have loved him as much as Danny, Cattleya, and I do."
A breeze blew, her hair in the breeze. She looked in the sky, the image of Kaito appears in the sky. The image vanishes.
Back on Mount Fire, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Togepi, and Professor Oak search for Moltres around the volcano.
"Moltres should be around here somewhere," Professor Oak said.
"Now all we gotta do is keep our eyes opened for it," Kairi said.
"Toge, Toge," Togepi chirped.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Kairi's right. You'll never know when Moltres will show up," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said. His ears perked up. "Pika?" Sora quickly noticed.
"Pikachu, you hear something?" Sora asked.
"Pika," Pikachu nodded.
Just then, Moltres flew out of the volcano, flying above them.
"Is that what I think it is?" Sora asked.
"It is. It's the Moltres, the legandary Pokémon," Professor Oak said. Sora slowly took out his Pokédex and scanned it.
Moltres, the Flame Pokémon
Type: Fire/Flying
Moltres is a legendary bird Pokémon that has the ability to control fire. If this Pokémon is injured, it is said to dip its body in the molten magma of a volcano to burn and heal itself.
"It's beautiful," Kairi said.
"Vee," Angel said.
Moltres turned to them and came down at them.
"Duck!" Professor Oak exclaimed. Sora, Kairi, and Professor Oak ducked their heads as Moltres flies upwards. Moltres then comes back around. Sora and Kairi took out their Pokéballs and threw them.
"Blastoise, Golem, Rhydon, Poliwrath, Tentacruel, Cloyster, Kingler, Slowbro, Aerodactyl, Kabutops, Lapras! Go!" Sora called out. His Pokéballs opened and they all came out to battle.
"Go! Jolteon, Vaporeon, Raichu, Dewgong, Kingdra, Slowking, Omanyte, Politoed, Starmie Seaking!" Kairi called out. Her Pokéballs opened and they all came out to battle. Professor Oak took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Gyarados!" Professor Oak called out. His Gyarados emerged from inside and roared. "Gyarados! Use Hydro Pump!" Gyarados fired Hydro Pump right at Moltres, but it dodged and fired a stream of flames from its mouth. The flames spirals around, and struck Gyarados. "It just used Fire Spin!"
"Vaporeon! Use Hydro Pump! Jolteon! Use Thunderbolt!" Kairi ordered. Vaporeon and Jolteon fired their attacks at the Flame Pokémon, striking it. She turned to her boyfriend. "Your turn, Sora!"
"Right! Rhydon! Use Stone Edge!" Sora ordered. Stones forms all around Rhydon, and he sends them right at Moltres. The stones hits Moltres on the spot. "Golem! Use Rock Slide!" Golem jumped and rocks forms all around Golem. The rocks are hurled at the Flame Pokémon, landing another hit. "Kairi, we should use our Water attacks now!"
"You're right. We should," Kairi agreed. "Vaporeon, Politoed, Slowking, Dewgong, Omanyte, Kingdra, Starmie, Seaking! Use Hydro Pump!"
"Blastoise, Poliwrath, Slowbro, Tentacruel, Cloyster, Lapras, Kabutops! You use Hydro Pump, too!" Sora ordered.
"Gyarados! Hydro Pump as well!" Professor Oak ordered.
The Water-type Pokémon unleashed their combined Hydro Pump, hitting Moltres on the spot. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to bring Moltres down.
"What the?!" Sora exclaimed.
"Moltres doesn't look even phased by those attacks," Kairi said.
"Even with our combined efforts, Moltres has proven to be too powerful to take down all at once," Professor Oak said. Moltres's body began to glow. "Everyone, brace yourselves! Moltres is preparing to use Sky Attack!"
"Kingler! Use Crabhammer!" Sora ordered. Kingler's large pincer becomes surrounded by water and comes right at Moltres. Moltres flew right at Kingler, plowing through the crab-like Pokémon. The same can be said for the rest of the Pokémon. They all have taken such heavy damage. They all managed to get back up, injured from the attack. "Everyone okay?"
"Toise," Blastoise said, in pain.
"Moltres is coming this way again!" Kairi exclaimed.
"Dodge it!" Sora called out. All of the Pokémon tried to dodge, but Slowbro and Slowking are caught in Moltres's talons and tossed. They roll on the ground, beaten. Sora and Kairi called Slowbro and Slowking back inside. "Rhydon! Use Horn Attack!"
"Raichu! Use Thunderbolt!" Kairi ordered.
Rhydon charged at Moltres with incredible speed. Rhydon aims his horn at Moltres, and jumped. Rhydon rammed into Moltres. Raichu fired Thunderbolt, hitting Moltres. Luckily for Rhydon, he's immune to Raichu's electric attack due to him being a Ground-type Pokémon. Moltres fought against Raichu's Thunderbolt and overpowers it. Moltres fired Flamethrower right at Raichu, resulting in a knockout. Moltres does the same for Rhydon. Sora and Kairi called back their fallen Pokémon.
"Gyarados! Use Dragon Pulse!" Professor Oak ordered. Gyarados fired Dragon Pulse at Moltres, landing a hit. "Well done."
"Pikachu! Use Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered.
Angel! Use Swift!" Kairi ordered.
Pikachu and Angel unleashed their combo attacks at Moltres, landing a hit. Moltres ends up being paralyzed from Pikachu's electric attack.
"Moltres is paralyzed! Gyarados! Use Hydro Pump!" Professor Oak ordered. Gyarados fired Hydro Pump right at Moltres. Moltres is struck by the water attack. Moltres is still standing and began to glow again. Moltres flew right up in the air. Moltres comes down at the battling Pokémon, landing some huge damage.
"Aerodactyl! Stone Edge!" Sora ordered. Aerodactyl forms stones and hurls them at Moltres. The Flame Pokémon dodged and fired Flamethrower, burning Aerodactyl, making him crash on the ground. Sora calls Aerodactyl back. Moltres fired another Flamethrower.
"Hydro Pump!" Sora and Kairi ordered. Both of their Water-type Pokémon fired Hydro Pump, blocking its attack. Moltres kept holding on, and so did the other Pokémon.
"Kingler! Use Razor Shell!" Sora ordered. Kingler jumped right at Moltres with pincers extends in blue blades. Kingler swipes at Moltres. The Pokémon all struck Moltres. Moltres fired Flamethrower again, pushing the combined water attack, striking the Pokémon on the mark, knocking them all out. Sora and Kairi called them all back. Pikachu, Angel, Golem, Jolteon, and Gyarados are still in the game. "Golem! Use Rock Slide!" Golem hurls rocks at Moltres, landing a hit.
"Jolteon! Use Thunderbolt!" Kairi ordered. Jolteon fired Thunderbolt, hitting Moltres again. Moltres fired Fire Spin, striking Jolteon. The Lightning Pokémon has been taken down by Moltres's Fire Spin.
"Golem! Use Rock Slide again!" Sora ordered. Golem hurls rocks at Moltres again, but dodged the rocks. Moltres fired Flamethrower at Golem, literally burning him up. Golem's body turns red. Moltres began to glow again, and came at Golem with its full body. Golem has been taken down. Sora and Kairi called back Golem and Jolteon. Pikachu, Angel, and Gyarados were left to battle. "Pikachu! Use Thunderbolt!"
"Use Swift!" Kairi ordered.
Pikachu and Angel fired their attacks, combining their efforts. The combo attack struck the bird of fire. Moltres fell down the ground. Sora took out an Ultra Ball and threw it. Moltres flows right inside and violently wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Ultra Ball to confirm the catch. Sora's Pokémon Box goes off asking him if he wants to keep Moltres with him. He chose to send Moltres to Professor Oak's lab.
"Well done, Sora. You have done it," Professor Oak said.
"Thanks, professor," Sora said. "It was a whole lot harder than I thought."
"Same here," Kairi said.
"And seeing you together, makes me believe you make a great team. The way you battled together is the proof I need," Professor Oak said. "I am proud of the both of you."
Over to the lab, Terra and Aqua stood by the Pokéball teleporter activating. The Ultra Ball has arrived.
"Sora did it. He caught Moltres," Aqua said.
"Sora has caught Articuno and Zapdos first, so now Moltres," Terra said. Professor Oak's phone goes off. Terra answered it. "Sora, Moltres made it through."
"Glad to hear it," Sora said.
"We will be heading back soon. Just make sure the Ultra Balls containing Articuno, Moltres, and Zapdos are ready for inspection," Professor Oak said.
"Already on it, professor," Aqua said, taking the Ultra Balls, placing them in the middle of the lab for Professor Oak to find them.
Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Togepi, and Professor Oak have returned home after they healed the Pokémon, and ate the meals their parents made for them. Professor Oak was first entering the lab, and sees the Ultra Balls.
"Are these the Pokémon Sora caught prior?" Professor Oak asked.
"Yes, professor. Ready for you to inspect," Terra said.
"Wonderful," Terra said, taking one of the Ultra Balls. She threw the Ultra Ball in the air. Zapdos emerged from inside. He took the remaining two Ultra Balls and threw them. The Ultra Balls opened and let out the other two bird Pokémon.
"Zapdos, Moltres, and Articuno. All three legendary bird Pokémon in my lab all at once. I never thought I'd live to see it," Professor Oak said. The bird Pokémon all looked right at Sora. They approached him and he looked right at them. He was amazed by how he managed to catch all three birds of legend. Professor Oak was amazed by they were staring at each other. "I wonder if Sora has a special connection with Pokémon; a connection that I cannot see?" Sora took out the Rainbow Wing, and held it. Professor Oak was amazed by the sight of the Rainbow Wing. "Sora, where did you get that?"
"From Ho-Oh," Sora bluntly answered. Professor Oak was surprised to hear Sora say it. "Ho-Oh flew over us when we started our journey." Professor Oak was even more amazed by the fact Sora has the Rainbow Wing.
"Could it be possible that Sora and Kairi were chosen by Ho-Oh itself? Ho-Oh will never settle for just anyone. What could be the reason Ho-Oh have chosen them?" Professor Oak asked in his thoughts.
Sora, Kairi, and the Pokémon stepped outside to train for the Pokémon League. Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres helped out with the training as best to their abilities. Kairi also did some training to prepare for Team Rocket's attack. During the training, Smoochum, Diglett, and Omanyte have started to evolve. Tangela has unleashed Ancient Power for the first time. Kairi knew Tangela was close to evolving after learning Ancient Power.
Professor Oak watched Sora and Kairi train hard for anything coming their way.
"Tangela! Use Ancient Power!" Kairi ordered. Tangela unleashed Ancient Power. The crystallized rocks going falling on the ground. Tangela then started to evolve. Tangela has become a Tangrowth. Kairi's newly evolved Tangrowth has more magenta than Yuta's Tangrowth. "Congratulations, Tangrowth!" Kairi's newly evolved Tangrowth beamed.
A little later, Professor Oak hands Sora an orange triangle-like item. It seems rather heavy for Sora to hold.
"What is this exactly?" Sora asked.
"That, my boy, is a Protector. It is used to make Rhydon evolve into a Rhyperior. You are welcome to use it if you like," Professor Oak said.
"Okay," Sora said. He walked over to Rhyperior and handed it to Rhydon. Rhydon started to evolve. Rhydon has become a Rhyperior. Sora was amazed by the size and power his newly evolved Rhyperior has. "Can't wait to see you in action, Rhyperior." The newly evolved Rhyperior roared in excitement.
Unknown to Sora, a pair of yellow eyes peeks on him and Kairi. It has to he the Heartless.
Sora will have to be ready for anything coming his way, but what will happen and how will it happen? Could it be anyone so bad, it makes Team Rocket seem nice? And could they have anything to do with the Heartless? Find out as we go on even further in the story.
