Episode 66: Twelve vs Twelve
A day has passed since Sora has captured Moltres. Sora has started to train some more to prepare for the Pokémon League tournament, and for Team Rocket launching their attack on them. Sora also had to be ready for the Heartless attacking them out of the blue.
"That's it, guys! Keep it up!" Sora called out. He took out a stopwatch to time his Pokémon. Dodrio ran pass him. "Good job, Dodrio! 2.5 seconds!" Some of the other Pokémon followed the Triple Bird Pokémon as they pass Sora. "Good effort, guys."
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
Just then, Kairi came up to her boyfriend with a basket.
"Sora!" Kairi called out. "Lunch!" Sora turned and he smiled. He walked up to his girlfriend. Angel and Togepi joined the other Pokémon to take a break from the training. Sora sees Kairi has made some sandwiches for the both of them. Sora took a bite of the sandwich, and his face lit up. "Is that good, Sora?"
"Delicious as always, Kairi," Sora said.
"Glad to hear it, Sora," Kairi said. "Enjoy every bit of it."
And Sora did enjoy it much to his heart's content.
Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres looked at Sora, seeing what is in his heart. Pikachu and Angel ate as well. Ash and Leaf have arrived to Professor Oak's lab, and they smiled at the happy couple.
"They're really cute together," Leaf said.
"Yeah, they do," Ash agreed. "You've been saying that on a regular basis, Leaf." He remembered the first official kiss they had as they became a couple. As soon as the couple have finished their meal, they see Ash and Leaf coming up to them. "Hey, Sora and Kairi."
"Ash, Leaf!" Sora and Kairi both said at once. Sora and Ash grasp hands as Kairi and Leaf gave a light hug to one another.
"It's good to see you both," Leaf said.
"Right back at you," Sora said.
"I heard you were home, so we thought you'd be here," Ash said. "You training hard?"
"Yeah, I am," Sora said. "You?"
"Yeah. Working up a sweat in each day," Ash said. Ash looked at Kairi. "Also, I heard you moved in the old Gustafson house."
"The Gustafsons were such nice people," Leaf said.
"Yeah. My mom told me why they would move. Anyway, I take it you came here to train, too," Sora said.
"Yeah, and so is Gary," Leaf said.
Over to Gary, he is doing some special training of his own. He became determined to win the Pokémon League.
"Soon, the world will see. After I win the Pokémon League, I'll go and challenge the Elite Four, and become the greatest Pokémon Trainer in the Kanto region. And soon, I'll become the most powerful Pokémon Trainer in the world," Gary said. "Ash, Leaf, Sora, you three better watch out, because Gary is going to crush all three of you." Gary laughed.
Back with Sora, Kairi, Ash, and Leaf, the couple shared their experiences before they came back home.
"Whoa. You had quite an adventure," Ash said. "After what you been through, it's not surprising."
"I'm sure you had some adventures," Sora said.
"Yeah, but yours sounded a whole lot more exciting," Leaf said. She chuckled.
"Really, it's not a big a deal," Kairi said.
"You kidding? Where we stand, you had it bigger than us. And I know we were there in Saffron City, you two single-handedly crippled Team Rocket's reputation, and everything," Ash said.
"You did it by defeating their boss. Twice," Leaf said, holding up two fingers. Sora and Kairi didn't know what to think. They only did what they thought was right, and they had to act on it. Sora had to change the subject on the matter.
"So, did you get the upgrade from Professor Oak?" Sora asked.
"We did actually. He offered it to Gary before, but he didn't hear a response from him about it," Ash said. Sora wasn't even surprised about it one bit. "Anyway, Sora. I was wondering if you like to have a battle against me? Make it twelve-on-twelve." Sora and Kairi were surprised to hear Ash's condition to the battle.
"Twelve-on-twelve?" Sora asked.
"Yeah. It was actually Leaf's idea," Ash said.
"I wanted to test it out in a Pokémon battle when we saw each other," Leaf said.
"Sounds like a good idea though," Kairi said.
"Thought you would agree, Kairi. Also, Ash agreed to let me have a battle with you," Leaf said.
"Sure, Leaf," Kairi said. "I can take you up for that. Who's going first?"
"Let's flip a coin," Sora said, taking out his smartphone. He turned on the coin flip app. "Okay, heads or tails?"
"We'll take tails," Leaf sad.
"Tails is fine with me," Kairi said. Sora touched the coin and it reads tails when it lands.
"Tails, girls win," Sora said.
"Rats!" Ash said. "I wanted to go first." Sora pats his back.
"Don't worry, Ash. You'll have your chance," Sora said. Ash smiled as Kairi and Leaf got ready for their battle. She placed Togepi down beside her.
"You'll root for me, won't you, Togepi?" Kairi asked.
"Toge, Toge, Togepi!" Togepi chirped.
"I know Kairi won't be using Togepi since he's still too young to battle," Sora said in his thoughts.
"How about we make this interesting, Kairi? We battle until all of our Pokémon are unable to battle," Leaf said.
"You've got it, Leaf," Kairi said. Kairi's twelve Pokémon consisted of Angel, Wigglytuff, Clefable, Raichu, Ninetales, Rapidash, Politoed, Bellossom, Vileplume, Pinky, Hitmontop, and Omastar.
Leaf's team consisted of her Venusaur, a Raticate, a Vaporeon, a Hitmonchan, a Venomoth, a Persian, a Starmie, a Jynx, a Dragonair, a Flareon, and a Jolteon. Leaf's Raticate has shorter whiskers, and lighter fur than Sora's Raticate. This is a female Raticate.
"I'm ready whenever you are, Kairi" Leaf said.
"I'm ready," Kairi said. "Wigglytuff, you're first."
"Wigglytuff," Wigglytuff said, stepping forward.
"Venomoth, you go in first," Leaf said. Venomoth flew in to start the battle. "Venomoth! Use Supersonic!" Venomoth unleashed a soundwave from its mouth.
"Block with Disarming Voice!" Kairi ordered. Wigglytuff unleashed Disarming Voice, blocking out Venomoth's Supersonic. "Use Mega Punch!" Wigglytuff comes at the Poison Moth Pokémon to land a hit.
"Dodge and use Poison Fang!" Leaf ordered. Venomoth dodged and flew right at Wigglytuff. Venomoth's fangs pokes the Balloon Pokémon.
"Use Rollout!" Kairi ordered. Wigglytuff curls into a ball and rolls right at Venomoth.
"Dodge and use Silver Wind!" Leaf ordered. Venomoth flapped its wings and sends out a gust of silver sparkling wind at Wigglytuff, landing a hit. "Use Poison Fang again. Venomoth flew right Wigglytuff with Poison Fang.
"Dodge and use Mega Punch!" Kairi ordered. Wigglytuff manages to dodge, and lands a Mega Punch onto Venomoth. "Mega Punch again!" Wigglytuff prepares to use Mega Punch on Venomoth once again.
"Poison Fang!" Leaf ordered. Venomoth flew at Wigglytuff, and lands a venomous bite onto her. Wigglytuff has taken some damage.
"Wigglytuff, come back for right now!" Kairi called out. Wigglytuff returned to Kairi's side. She looked at Pinky. "Okay, Pinky! You're in!" The pink Butterfree flew right in to battle Venomoth. Leaf was astounded by the sight of Kairi's pink Butterfree.
"Wow, I never seen a pink Butterfree before! How amazing!" Leaf said.
"Thanks. She's really adorable, huh?" Kairi asked.
"Totally. Adorable or not, your Butterfree is no match for my Venomoth! Okay, Venomoth! Use Poison Fang!" Leaf ordered. Venomoth flew right at Pinky with Poison Fang.
"Use Psychic!" Kairi ordered. Pinky's compound eyes gave off a light blue glow, stopping Venomoth in its tracks. She sends Venomoth down on the ground hard. "Use Silver Wind!" Pinky unleashed Silver Wind, hitting Venomoth, and sending it flying. "Use Psybeam!" Pinky fired Psybeam at Venomoth, hitting it hard. Venomoth goes down, beaten.
"Take a rest for right now, Venomoth," Leaf said. Venomoth got up, and hovered over to its Trainer. Leaf looked at her Raticate. "Raticate, move right in." Her Raticate does so, waiting for Leaf's instructions. "Raticate! Use Hyper Fang!" Raticate came at Pinky with her fangs extending.
"Dodge and use Silver Wind!" Kairi ordered. Pinky dodges Raticate's attack, and sends out another Silver Wind.
"Dodge that and use Shock Wave!" Leaf ordered. Raticate dodges Pinky's Silver Wind, and sends out unleashes a wave of light blue electricity from her body, hitting Pinky on the spot. "Use Hyper Fang!" Raticate rushes at Pinky, landing a hit with Super Fang, taking her down.
"Pinky, are you okay?" Kairi asked with concern.
"Ree," Pinky weakly said.
"Take a rest for right now," Kairi said. Pinky flutters her way back to Kairi's side. She turned to Hitmontop next. "Go! Hitmontop!" Hitmontop stepped in, waiting for Kairi's instructions.
"Raticate! Use Shock Wave!" Leaf ordered. Raticate unleashed Shock Wave right at the Handstand Pokémon.
"Use Detect!" Kairi ordered. Hitmontop's eyes glow light blue for a moment, and he dodges Raticate's Shock Wave. "Use Triple Quick!" Hitmontop gets on top of his head and spins around like a top. Hitmontop kicks Raticate three times in a row. Raticate goes down for the count. Ratticate gets up and returns to Leaf's side since she was beaten.
"Not bad, Kairi. Let's make this Fighting-type against Fighting-type," Leaf said. "Hitmonchan, move right in."
"Monchan!" Hitmonchan said.
"Hitmonchan! Use Bullet Punch!" Leaf ordered.
"Use Detect!" Kairi ordered. Hitmontop's glows light blue again, and dodges Hitmonchan's punch attack. "Use Gyro Ball!" Hitmontop spins around again, and a silver-gray ball of energy spirals around Hitmontop, landing a hit.
"Hitmonchan! Use Sky Uppercut!" Leaf ordered. Hitmonchan came at Hitmontop, and gave an uppercut to Hitmontop, sending him backwards. Hitmontop lands on his back. His gets back on his feet. "Use Bullet Punch!" Hitmonchan gave Hitmontop a punch in a gut. "Use Vacuum Wave!" Hitmonchan creates a sphere of wind in his hands. Hitmonchan then fires the wind in the form of a beam, hitting Hitmontop.
"Hitmontop! Use Rolling Kick!" Kairi ordered. Hitmontop came at Hitmonchan with a roundhouse roll towards Hitmonchan.
"Use Bullet Punch!" Leaf ordered. Both Hitmontop and Hitmonchan came at each other, landing a hit onto one another. Both Pokémon have taken such heavy damage, and were both down for the count. Kairi and Leaf helps Hitmontop and Hitmonchan up on their feet. Both Fighting-type Pokémon both take a rest after their battle. "Jynx! Go!" Jynx stepped right in.
"Go! Rapidash!" Kairi called out. Rapidash galloped right in. "Use Flame Charge!" Kairi ordered. Rapidash charged right at Jynx.
"Dodge and use Fake Out!" Leaf ordered. Jynx came at the Fire Horse Pokémon, making her flinch. "Now, use Shadow Ball!" Jynx forms a ball of shadow and sends it right at Rapidash, landing a hit. "Use Double Slap!" Jynx gave Rapidash a couple of slaps in the face.
"Use High Horsepower!" Kairi ordered. Rapidash came right at Jynx with High Horsepower.
"Dodge and use Psychic!" Leaf ordered. Jynx uses Psychic to block Rapidash's High Horsepower and slams Rapidash down. "Use Shadow Ball!" Jynx fired Shadow Ball right at Rapidash, dealing some heavy damage. Rapidash has been taken down.
"You did great, Rapidash," Kairi said. Rapidash nuzzles her. "You take a rest." Rapidash returned to Kairi's side and Kairi looked at Ninetales. "You're up, Ninetales!" The Fox Pokémon stepped into battle. "Ninetales! Use Inferno!" Ninetales releases a stream of red and yellow fire on the top of her mouth, and right at Jynx, dealing some heavy damage. "Use Flamethrower!" Ninetales unleashed right at the Human Shape Pokémon. "Use Quick Attack!" Ninetales lands a hit onto Jynx, resulting in a knockout. Jynx slowly gets up and returns to Leaf's side.
"That was excellent, Kairi. Try this out for size," Leaf said, turning to Vaporeon. "Go for it, Vaporeon!" Vaporeon came right out to battle Ninetales.
"Come back for now, Ninetales," Kairi said. Ninetales returns to Kairi's side. "Raichu, it's your turn." Raichu stepped in to battle against Vaporeon.
"Vaporeon! Use Aqua Tail!" Leaf ordered. Vaporeon came at Raichu with its tail being surrounded with water. Vaporeon swings its tail at the Mouse Pokémon.
"Dodge and use Thunder Punch!" Kairi ordered. Raichu came at Vaporeon, landing an electrified punch. "Use Seismic Toss!" Raichu grabbed Vaporeon and threw it down to the ground. Raichu lands on his feet, and Vaporeon gets back up.
"Use Ice Beam!" Leaf ordered. Vaporeon fired a beam of ice right at Raichu.
"Dodge with Quick Attack!" Kairi ordered. Raichu dodges Vaporeon's Ice Beam attack with his speed attack. "Use Thunder Punch!" Raichu came at Vaporeon with Thunder Punch.
"Dodge and use Aqua Tail!" Leaf ordered. Vaporeon dodged and swung his tail at Raichu.
"Grab Vaporeon by the tail!" Kairi called out. Raichu grabs Vaporeon by the tail. "Seismic Toss!" Raichu jumped and tosses Vaporeon down to the ground. "Use Thunderbolt!" Raichu unleashed Thunderbolt right at Vaporeon, dealing some heavy damage. Vaporeon has been taken down.
"Jolteon, your turn!" Leaf said with her Jolteon stepping in the battle.
"Raichu, come back," Kairi said. Raichu returns to Kairi's side. Kairi looked at Vileplume. "Your turn, Vileplume!" The Flower Pokémon steps in to battle. "Use Moonblast!" Vileplume fired Moonblast at the Lightning Pokémon.
"Dodge and use Signal Beam!" Leaf ordered. Jolteon dodged and fired Signal Beam right at the Flower Pokémon. Vileplume is struck hard. "Use Double Kick!" Jolteon lands a couple of kicks onto him.
"Use Razor Leaf!" Kairi ordered. Vileplume fired Razor Leaf right at Jolteon, landing some heavy damage. "Use Petal Dance!" Vileplume unleashed a flurry of pink flower petals at Jolteon. Vileplume unleashed another Petal Dance.
"Use Pin Missile!" Leaf ordered. Jolteon fired Pin Missle shreds the flower petals into a million pieces. Vileplume is struck by Pin Missile. "Use Double Kick!" Jolteon gave Vileplume a couple of kicks, and sends him on his back. "Pin Missile!" Jolteon fired Pin Missile at Vileplume. The Flower Pokémon has been knocked out. "Excellent work, Jolteon!" Kairi looked at Wigglytuff.
"Back to action, Wigglytuff!" Kairi said. Wigglytuff stepped back in to battle.
"Use Pin Missile!" Leaf ordered. Jolteon fired Pin Missile right at the Balloon Pokémon.
"Use Disarming Voice!" Kairi ordered. Wigglytuff unleashed Disarming Voice, blocking the pins. "Use Mega Punch!" Wigglytuff lands a powerful punch onto Jolteon, landing a punch. Jolteon has been knocked out. Jolteon stood back up on its feet and returned to Leaf.
"Go! Flareon!" Leaf said. Flareon stepped in the battle. "Use Fire Fang!" Flareon came right at Wigglytuff with Fire Fang.
"Use Rollout!" Kairi ordered. Wigglytuff curls into a ball, and rolls right at Flareon. Flareon has taken some damage from the attack.
"Dodge and use Swift!" Leaf ordered. Flareon fired Swift at Wigglytuff. The Balloon Pokémon is struck by the stars, but the attack didn't phase her, and she struck Flareon, resulting in a knockout. Flareon stands back up and returns to Leaf. "Go! Persian!" The Classy Cat Pokémon steps right in to battle. "Use Power Gem!" Persian fired Power Gem right at Wigglytuff, making her uncurl from her ball form.
"Wigglytuff!" Kairi gasped.
"Use Slash!" Leaf ordered. Persian slashed Wigglytuff right in the face, resulting in a knockout. Wigglytuff gets back up and returned to Kairi's side. Kairi turned to Angel.
"You up for a battle, Angel?" Kairi asked.
"Eevee," Angel nodded. Angel stepped in to battle. "Use Quick Attack!" Angel ran towards Persian with Quick Attack.
"Use Feint Attack!" Leaf ordered. Persian vanished and reappeared. It swiped its claw at Angel. "Use Slash!" Persian swipes its paw at Angel.
"Dodge and use Iron Tail!" Kairi ordered. Angel jumped and swung her tail at Persian, landing a hit. "Use Swift!" Angel fired Swift at Persian, dealing some damage.
"Persian! Use Power Gem!" Leaf ordered. Persian fired Power Gem right at Angel.
"Dodge with Quick Attack!" Kairi ordered. Angel dodges Persian's Power Gem with her speed attack. "Use Headbutt!" Angel rushed at Persian, hitting it with Headbutt. "Use Iron Tail!" Angel swung her tail at Persian, landing a hit.
"That was a great hit, Kairi. Okay, Persian! Use Slash!" Leaf ordered. Persian came at the female Eevee with its claws ready to strike.
"Dodge and use Headbutt!" Kairi ordered. Angel rammed her head right into Persian. "Use Iron Tail!" Angel swung her tail at the Classy Cat Pokémon again, dealing some extra damage.
"Persian! Use Power Gem!" Leaf ordered. Persian fired Power Gem at Angel, landing some damage onto her. She rolls to her side. Angel gets back up on her feet.
"You still good to battle, Angel?" Kairi asked.
"Eevee," Angel answered with a nod.
"Okay, I believe in you! Use Swift!" Kairi ordered. Angel unleashed Swift right at Persian. The stars came fast for Persian, landing a hit. "Use Quick Attack!"
"Use Slash!" Leaf ordered.
Angel and Persian ran towards each other to land a hit. Persian attempts to slash at Angel, but she dodged too quick for the Classy Cat Pokémon, and lands a hit onto it, resulting in a knockout. Persian returned to Leaf's side.
"Good job, Angel," Kairi said, petting her.
"Starmie, you're up," Leaf said. Starmie stepped right in to battle. Kairi turned to Bellossom.
"Bellossom! Go!" Kairi said. Bellossom stepped in to battle Starmie. "Use Razor Leaf!" Bellossom unleashed her attack right at the Mysterious Pokémon.
"Use Minimize!" Leaf ordered. Starmie glows a pinkish-purple color and shrinks down to avoid Bellossom's Razor Leaf. "Use Psybeam!" Starmie unleashed Psybeam and lands a hit onto Bellossom. The Flower Pokémon ends up being confused. "Use Rapid Spin!" Starmie spins around and rams into Bellossom, dealing some heavy damage. Bellossom has been taken down. Starmie regains its regular size. Bellosom returns to Kairi's side.
"You did your best, Bellossom," Kairi said.
"Llossom," Bellossom said. She turned to Omastar.
"Your turn now, Omastar," Kairi said. Omastar stepped in to battle. "Omastar! Use Spike Cannon!" Omastar's shell, glows white, and fires multiple white spikes from the shell at Starmie.
"Use Minimize!" Leaf ordered. Starmie shrunk in size again to avoid Omastar's spikes. They all miss their mark. "Great! Use Psybeam!"
"Use Protect!" Kairi ordered. Omastar creates a protective barrier around himself, and the attack bounces off. "Use Shell Smash!" Omastar's shell cracks while giving off a white glow. An orange aura raises up.
"Shell Smash increases a Pokémon's attack and speed power, but decreases defense in return. She must have something planned," Ash said in his thoughts.
"Use Psybeam!" Leaf ordered. Starmie fired Psybeam at Omastar.
"Dodge it!" Kairi called out. Omastar dodges with his newfound speed. "Use Rock Blast!" Omastar's shell glows white and silver energy gathers in front of him forming into a silver rock. Omastar then fires the rock at Starmie. Starmie dodges, but four more rocks are thrown at it, and Starmie is struck by two of the rocks. Due to the effect of Omastar's Shell Smash, his Rock Blast has increased damage. Starmie fell on its back with its core blinking.
"Starmie, you okay?" Leaf asked. She helped Starmie up. "Get some rest. You've earned it." She looked at Kairi. "That was awesome, Kairi. You've grown so strong since you started your journey. I just want to say I'm proud of you since we met."
"Leaf, you're just as strong," Kairi said.
"Thanks," Leaf said. She turned to Flareon. "You're back in, Flareon." The Flame Pokémon returns to the battle. Omastar returns to Kairi's side. Kairi turned to Politoed.
"Your turn, Politoed," Kairi said. He steps in the battle against Leaf.
"Use Fire Fang!" Leaf ordered. Flareon came running towards Politoed.
"Dodge and use Bubble Beam!" Kairi ordered. Politoed fired Bubble Beam, landing a hit onto Flareon. "Use Ice Punch!" Politoed lands an icy punch onto Flareon, resulting in a knockout. Flareon returns to Leaf's side and she turned to Dragonair.
"Your turn, Dragonair," Leaf said. Dragonair crawls into the battle. "Dragonair! Use Dragon Rage!" Dragonair unleashes Dragon Rage at Politoed.
"Dodge and use Ice Punch!" Kairi ordered. Politoed dodges by hopping out of the way, and came at Politoed with an icy punch ready to go.
"Dodge and use Thunderbolt!" Leaf ordered. Dragonair dodges Politoed's Ice Punch and unleashes Thunderbolt, shocking the Frog Pokémon. "Use Dragon Tail!" Dragonair swings its tail, and struck Politoed on the mark, sending him down on his back. Politoed has been beaten. Politoed gets back up and returns to Kairi's side.
"You did your best, Politoed. Get some rest," Kairi said. She turned to Clefable. "Go! Clefable!" Clefable steps in to battle against Dragonair.
"Use Thunderbolt!" Leaf ordered.
"Dodge and use Dazzling Gleam!" Kairi ordered. Clefable forms a rainbow orb, and sends it right at Dragonair, dealing some heavy damage. "Use Metoer Mash!" Clefable lands a punch onto Dragonair, dealing some additional damage.
"Dragonair! Use Thunderbolt again!" Leaf ordered.
"Dodge and use another Meteor Mash!" Kairi ordered. Clefable dodges and lands another punch onto Dragonair, resulting in a knockout. Leaf was really impressed by how well Kairi is battling.
"That was great, Kairi," Leaf said. "You took down eleven of my Pokémon. Now it's time for number twelve. Venusaur!" Leaf said. Venusaur steps forward.
"Clefable! Use Dazzling Gleam!" Kairi ordered. Clefable forms another rainbow orb and threw it at the Seed Pokémon.
"Use Energy Ball!" Leaf ordered. Venusaur fired Energy Ball, blocking Clefable's Dazzling Gleam, much to Kairi's shock. "Use Leaf Storm!" Venusaur unleashed a storm of leaves, catching Clefable in it. The Fairy Pokémon was down for the count. Clefable returns to Kairi's side. She turned to Raichu. "You're heading back in, Raichu."
"Rai," Raichu said.
"Use Quick Attack!" Kairi ordered. Raichu ran towards Venusaur with his speed attack.
"Use Vine Whip!" Leaf ordered. Venusaur uses her vines to grab Raichu, and threw him. Raichu lands on the ground. "Use Earthquake!" Venusaur slams her feet to the ground. The ground shakes, so Raichu fell on his back. Raichu was down and out.
"Ninetales! Go!" Kairi said. Ninetales reentered the battle. "Use Flamethrower!"
"Dodge and use Vine Whip!" Leaf ordered. Venusaur dodged and grabbed the Fox Pokémon. Venusaur then threw Ninetales to the ground. "Use Earthquake!" Venusaur shook the ground again, and Ninetales fell on the ground. "Energy Ball!" Venusaur unleashed Energy Ball again, and Ninetales is taken out. Ninetales returned to Kairi's side. She turned to Omastar.
"Omastar, your turn," Kairi said. Omastar returned to the battle. "Use Rock Blast!" Omastar fired Rock Blast at Venusaur.
"Leaf Storm!" Leaf ordered. Venusaur unleashed Leaf Storm again, and Omastar is gets struck by the leaf attack, and Omastar has been taken down. Omastar returns to Kairi's side. Kairi and Leaf were each down to one Pokémon each, so only one of them will be winning the battle. Angel reentered the battle. "The winner is decided after this."
"Don't hold back, Leaf!" Kairi said. "Angel! Use Swift!" Angel fired Swift right at Venusaur.
"Vine Whip!" Leaf ordered. Venusaur extends her vines, and bats the stars back. "Vine Whip again!" Venusaur extends her leaves at Angel again.
"Dodge with Quick Attack!" Kairi ordered. Angel manages to dodge by running from Venusaur's vines. Angel jumped when one of the vines struck Sora in the face.
"Ouch! Hey!" Sora yelped. Leaf blushed in embarrassment.
"Sorry, Sora," Leaf apologized. She chuckled nervously. "Venusaur! Use Leaf Storm!" Venusaur unleashes Leaf Storm right at Angel. She jumped through the leaves.
"Iron Tail!" Kairi ordered. Angel swung her tail at Venusaur. "Use Headbutt!" Angel headbutts Venusaur in the face. "Use Iron Tail!" Angel came at Venusaur again.
"Grab her!" Leaf called out. Venusaur grabs Angel in her flower. Angel struggles to get loose. "Leaf Storm!" Venusaur unleashed Leaf Storm. Angel goes flying in the air. Kairi catches her in her arms. Kairi has lost.
"Angel!" Kairi cried. "Are you alright?"
"Eevee," Angel said.
"You did your best, Angel," Kairi said. "Take a good rest." Leaf walked up to Kairi with a smile on her face.
"You were amazing, Kairi," Leaf complimented.
"Thank you, Leaf. I enjoyed our battle," Kairi said. They shook hands. "You're going to do great in the Indigo Plateau."
"Thank you, Kairi. That means a lot," Leaf said.
"Our turn, Sora," Ash said.
"Don't go easy on me just because we're friends," Sora said.
"I won't dream of it," Ash said. Ash's team consisted of Charizard, Electivire, Pidgeot, Nidoking, Nidoqueen, Machamp, Poliwrath, Kingler, Golduck, Steelix, Gyarados, and Snorlax.
Sora's team consisted of Pikachu, Blastoise, Hypno, Dragonite, Aerodactyl, Scizor, Mr. Mime, Marowak, Golem, Primeape, Gengar, and Hitmonlee.
"I'm ready when you are," Sora said.
"Okay, twelve against twelve, the battle is over when all twelve are unable to go on," Ash said.
"Right," Sora said. He turned to Pikachu. "You first, Pikachu." Pikachu steps in the battle. Ash turned to Electivire.
"Go! Electivire!" Ash said. Electivire stepped in to battle. "Let's make this Electric-type battle."
"Fine with me," Sora said. "Pikachu! Thunderbolt!" Pikachu unleashed Thunderbolt right at Electivire. The Thunderbolt Pokémon absorbs Pikachu's attack. Electivire's speed starts to build up. Sora was stunned when he sees this. "What the?!"
"Electivire's ability is called Motor Drive. Pokémon with Motor Drive receives zero damage from an Electric-type moves, and speed builds right up," Ash explained.
"Okay, Pikachu. Come back," Sora said. Pikachu returns to Sora's side. Sora turned to Marowak. "Go for it, Marowak!" The Bkne Keeper Pokémon steps in to battle against Electivire. "Use Bone Rush!" Marowak came running towards Electivire.
"Dodge and use Brick Break!" Ash ordered. Electivire dodges with incredible speed and brings its arm down at Marowak.
"Block that, Marowak!" Sora called out. Marowak blocked Electivire's arm. "Use Skull Bash!" Marowak jumped and rammed his head right at Electivire. "Use Bonemerang!" Marowak threw his bone club right at Electivire.
"Dodge!" Ash called out. Electivire dodges Marowak's bone. The bone came right back at Marowak's hand. "Not bad!"
"Marowak! Use Bonemerang!" Sora ordered. Matowak threw his bone right at Electivire, landing two hits onto Electivire. "Use Bone Rush!" Marowak rushed at Electivire and lands a hit onto Electivire, dealing some heavy damage. "Use Double-Edge!" Marowak becomes surrounded in streaks of white aura and then charges into Electivire with great force. "Use Bone Rush!" Marowak lands a hit with Bone Rush, dealing some extra damage. Electivire was taken down. Electivire gets back up and slumps back to Ash.
"That was great, Sora. You gotten a whole lot stronger than the last time," Ash said. He turned to Nidoqueen. "Okay, Nidoqueen. Your turn." Nidoqueen steps in the battlefield.
"Use Double-Edge!" Sora ordered.
"Use Ice Punch!" Ash ordered. Nidoqueen came at Marowak, and gave the Bone Keeper Pokémon a hit with an icy punch. Marowak was now frozen.
"Marowak, no!" Sora exclaimed.
"Use Drill Run!" Ash ordered. Nidoqueen puts her arms up to her head and forms her body into a drill. She then rotates her body rapidly and charges at Marowak while floating in the air, stabbing him. The ice shatters. Marowak has been taken down.
"Marowak, take a breather," Sora said. Marowak stands back up on his feet and slumps back to Sora. He turned to Mr. Mime. "Okay, move right in, Mr. Mime."
"Mime," Mr. Mime said, stepping in.
"Okay, Mr. Mime is a Psychic and Fairy-type Pokémon, so I'm gonna be careful with this one," Ash said. "Nidoqueen! Use Sludge Bomb!" Nidoqueen fires Sludge Bomb right at Mr. Mime.
"Use Light Screen!" Sora ordered. Mr. Mime creates a golden-yellow wall, blocking Nidoqueen's attack.
"Not bad, Sora. Using Light Screen to block out a Special move is a genius plan," Ash said. "Try this. "Nidoqueen! Use Poison Jab!" Nidoqueen comes right at Mr. Mime with Poison Jab.
"Mr. Mime, use Reflect!" Sora ordered. Mr. Mime forms a wall of glass-like energy in front of his hands, shielding him from Nidoqueen's attacks.
"Poison Jab again!" Ash ordered.
"Reflect again!" Sora ordered. Mr. Mime kept forming walls of glass-like energy whenever Nidoqueen has made her move. This keeps up until Nidoqueen is caught in a cocoon of Reflect. "Use Psychic!" Mr. Mime lifts up Nidoqueen with Psychic, and then slams Nidoqueen down, resulting in a knockout. Mr. Mime's Reflect shatters. "How do you like that, Ash?"
"Not too shabby, Sora. Here's my next one," Ash said. He looked at Steelix. "Your turn, Steelix!" Steelix crawls in after Nidoqueen returns to Ash's side. Sora knew Mr. Mime is weak against Steel-type moves, so he had to call Mr. Mime back.
"Okay, Mr. Mime. That's enough for right now," Sora said. Mr. Mime returns to Sora's side. Sora looked at Hitmonlee, and he knew he was perfect. "Hitmonlee, you're up." Hitmonlee steps in the battlefield. "Use Blaze Kick!" Hitmonlee's leg emits flames and comes at Steelix.
"Dodge and use Iron Tail!" Ash ordered. Steelix attempts to move, but Hitmonlee came too fast for Steelix to dodge. Steelix has felt that hit. "Now, use Rolling Kick!" Hitmonlee did a roundhouse roll and gave Steelix another kick.
"Steelix! Use Dragon Breath!" Ash ordered. Steelix unleashed Dragon Breath, hitting Hitmonlee. "Use Iron Head!" Steelix charges at Hitmonlee and lands a hit with an Iron Head.
"Use Jump Kick!" Sora ordered. Hitmonlee jumped and stuck his right foot at Steelix, landing some damage onto the Iron Snake Pokémon. "Use Blaze Kick!" Hitmonlee gave Steelix fiery kick. Steelix goes down on its back. Steelix is now down and out. Steelix gets back up and returned to Ash's side.
"Snorlax, you're in," Ash said. Snorlax steps in to battle.
"Hitmonlee! Use Jump Kick!" Sora ordered. Hitmonlee jumped and heads towards Snorlax.
"Dodge," Ash ordered. Snorlax dodges Hitmonlee's Jump Kick, and he makes a crash landing. "Use Hyper Beam!" Snorlax fired Hyper Beam and struck Hitmonlee on the mark, resulting in a knockout. Hitmonlee gets back up on his feet and returns to Sora's side. He turned to Primeape.
"Primeape! Go!" Sora called out. Primeape jumped right in. "Use Power-Up Punch!" Primeape came at the Sleeping Pokémon and gave it a punch. Primeape's attack power goes up. "Use Dual Chop!" Primeape came at Snorlax again.
"Use Heavy Slam!" Ash ordered. Snorlax came down and heads down at the Pig Monkey Pokémon.
"Dodge and use Power-Up Punch!" Sora ordered. Primeape came at Snorlax again.
"Use Thunder Punch!" Ash ordered. Snorlax gave Primeape an electrified punch onto Primeape, sending him backwards. Primeape has been knocked out from the attack.
"Primeape, you alright?" Sora asked. Primeape gets up on his feet. He returns to Sora's side. "Take a rest for right now, Primeape." Sora turned to Pikachu. "Back to action, Pikachu."
"Pika," Pikachu said. He returns to the battle.
"Snorlax! Heavy Slam!" Ash ordered. Snorlax jumped and started to come down at the Mouse Pokémon.
"Dodge with Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Pikachu dodges by running. Snorlax misses his mark completely. "Use Thunderbolt!" Pikachu unleashed Thunderbolt, shocking the Sleeping Pokémon. "Use Iron Tail!" Pikachu swings his tail and slammed it right in Snorlax's face and goes down. Snorlax comes back to Ash's side.
"Nidoking! Your turn!" Ash said. Nidoking steps in to battle.
"Pikachu, come on back," Sora said. Pikachu returns to Sora's side. "Your turn, Blastoise."
"I have been ready for this. Nidoking! Use Shock Wave!" Ash ordered. Nidoking unleashed Shock Wave, landing a heavy hit onto Blastoise.
"Blastoise! Use Hydro Pump!" Sora ordered. Blastoise fired Hydro Pump right at Nidoking.
"Dodge and use Horn Drill!" Ash ordered. Nidoking dodges Blastoise's Hydro Pump and came at Blastoise with his body spinning like a drill.
"Flash Cannon!" Sora ordered. Blastoise fired Flash Cannon right at Nidoking, dealing some heavy damage. "Use Water Pulse!" Blastoise hurls Water Pulse, landing a hit. Nidoking was now confused.
"Use Horn Drill!" Ash ordered. Nidoking tried to comply, but he ends up hurting himself in his confusion.
"Hydro Pump!" Sora ordered. Blastoise fired Hydro Pump again, washing Nidoking in it. The Drill Pokémon has been knocked out. Nidoking returned to Ash's side, and he looked at Golduck.
"Golduck! Go!" Ash said. Golduck stepped in.
"Use Flash Cannon!" Sora ordered. Blastoise fired Flash Cannon right at the Duck Pokémon.
"Use Psychic!" Ash ordered. Golduck blocked Blastoise's Flash Cannon and sends it back at Blastoise, sending him backwards. Blastoise has been knocked out.
"Get some rest, Blastoise," Sora said. Blastoise returns to Sora's side. "Go! Hypno!" The Hypnosis Pokémon steps in. "Use Zen Headbutt!" Hypno came at Golduck with Zen Headbutt.
"Use Shadow Claw!" Ash ordered. Golduck came at Hypno, and pushes Hypno back. "Use Shadow Claw again!" Golduck swiped at Hypno again, sending him on the ground, beaten.
"Good effort, Hypno," Sora said. Hypno returns to Sora's side. He turned to Pikachu. "Pikachu, you know the drill." Pikachu returns to the battle.
"Use Shadow Claw!" Ash ordered. Golduck came at Pikachu with Shadow Claw.
"Dodge and use Electro Ball!" Sora ordered. Pikachu dodges and forms a ball of electricity. He sends it right at Golduck. Pikachu's Electro Ball struck Golduck on the mark. "Use Thunderbolt!" Pikachu unleashed Thunderbolt right at Duck Pokémon, resulting in a shock. Golduck fell backwards, beaten. Golduck comes right back.
"Go! Machamp!" Ash said. Machamp steps in to battle.
"Okay, Pikachu! Use Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Pikachu ran towards Machamp.
"Use Bulk Up!" Ash ordered. Machamp flexes its muscles, building its attack and defense. Pikachu's Quick Attack did almost nothing to Machamp. "Use Dynamic Punch!" Machamp gave Pikachu a powerful punch. Pikachu ends up being confused.
"Pikachu! Use Iron Tail!" Sora ordered. Pikachu came right at Machamp despite being confused. Pikachu lands a hit onto Machamp.
"Use Cross Chop!" Ash ordered. Machamp crosses its arms and lands a hit onto Pikachu. Pikachu has been taken down.
"Pikachu, you okay?" Sora asked.
"Pika, Pika," Pikachu said.
"Take a rest for right now," Sora said. Pikachu returns to Sora's side. Sora looked at Dragonite. "Alright, Dragonite. You're up." Dragonite entered the battle.
"Machamp, come back for now," Ash said. Machamp returned to Ash's side. He turned to Pidgeot. "Pidgeot, move in!" Pidgeot flew in the battle against Dragonite. "Use Aerial Ace!" Pidgeot starts up by darting at the Dragon Pokémon with Aerial Ace.
"Dragonite! Use Dragon Claw!" Sora ordered. Dragonite flew right at Pidgeot with Dragon Claw ready to strike. Dragonite slashed at the Bird Pokémon with Dragon Claw. Pidgeot has taken some damage from the attack.
"Use Brave Bird!" Ash ordered. Pidgeot flew at Dragonite with an orange bird-like aura surrounding its body.
"Use Dragon Rush!" Sora ordered. Dragonite came flying at Pidgeot with a purple dragonish aura surrounding his body. Both Pokémon have taken some heavy damage. Pidgeot fell to the ground, beaten. Pidgeot returned to Ash's side.
"Poliwrath, move in!" Ash said. Poliwrath enters the battle.
"Use Wing Attack!" Sora ordered. Dragonite flew right at Poliwrath with his wings out.
"Poliwrath! Use Dual Chop!" Ash ordered. Poliwrath gave Dragonite a couple of chops. "Use Dual Chop again!" Poliwrath came at Dragonite again.
"Dragonite! Dragon Pulse!" Sora ordered. Dragonite unleashed Dragon Pulse, landing a hit onto the Tadpole. "Use Wing Attack!" Dragonite flew right at Poliwrath, landing some heavy damage. Poliwrath has been knocked out. Poliwrath returned to Ash's side.
"Let's go, Gyarados!" Ash said. Gyarados enters the battle. "Use Dragon Pulse!" Gyarados fired Dragon Pulse right at Dragonite.
"Use Dragon Pulse!" Sora ordered. Dragonite fired Dragon Pulse back. An explosion occurs and both Pokémon were both knocked out. Dragonite and Gyarados returned to their Trainers.
"Kingler, your turn," Ash said. Kingler enters the battle, ready to go.
"Go! Scizor!" Sora called out.
"Kingler! Use Crabhammer!" Ash ordered. Kingler came at Scizor with Crabhammer to strike.
"Use Metal Claw!" Sora ordered. Scizor came at the crab-like Pokémon with Metal Claw. They clashed their claws at each other.
"Use Guillotine!" Ash ordered. Kingler came at Scizor.
"Dodge it!" Sora called out. Scizor tried to dodge, but Scizor was caught in the attack. Scizor has been taken down. "Take a rest, Scizor " He returns to Sora's side. He turned to Mr. Mime. "Back to action, Mr. Mime!" The Barrier Pokémon returns to the battle.
"Use Guillotine!" Ash ordered. Kingler came at Mr. Mime with Guillotine.
"Use Reflect!" Sora ordered. Mr. Mime creates Reflect to block Kingler's attack. "Use Psychic!" Mr. Mime uses Psychic answers sends Kingler down on the ground.
"Use Night Slash!" Ash ordered. Kingler came at Mr. Mime with Night Slash.
"Dodge and use Dazzling Gleam!" Mr. Mime uses Dazzling Gleam on Kingler, dealing some heavy damage. Kingler has been taken down.
"Wow, you're a real awesome Trainer, Sora. You really have been grown stronger than the last time we battled. Let's see how you handle my Charizard," Ash said. He turned to Charizard. "Move in, Charizard!" The Flame Pokémon flew in the battlefield to battle Sora.
"Mr. Mime! Use Dazzling Gleam!" Sora ordered.
"Metal Claw!" Ash ordered. Charizard slashed at Mr. Mime, dealing some heavy damage. "Use Fire Blast!" Charizard fired Fire Blast right at Mr. Mime. The Barrier Pokémon has been taken down. Sora turned to Golem.
"Golem, your turn," Sora said. Golem enters the battle. "Use Rock Slide!" Golem sends Rock Slide right at Charizard.
"Dodge and use Metal Claw!" Ash ordered. Charizard swipes his claw at Golem. It lands a super-effective hit.
"Golem! Use Fire Punch!" Sora ordered. Golem came at Charizard with Fire Punch, and lands a punch. "Use Rollout!"
"Dragon Pulse!" Ash ordered. Charizard unleashed Dragon Pulse and it pushes Golem back. "Use Metal Claw!" Charizard swipes his claws at Golem, resulting in a knockout.
"Okay, Golem, take a rest for now," Sora said. Golem returns to Sora's side. "Aerodactyl! Your turn!" Aerodactyl flew in. "Use Stone Edge!"
"Metal Claw!" Ash ordered. Aerodactyl hurls Stone Edge at Charizard, but dodges, and lands a hit with Metal Claw. "Use Seismic Toss!" Charizard took Aerodactyl and threw Aerodactyl down on the ground. "Dragon Pulse!" Charizard unleashed Dragon Pulse, hitting Aerodactyl hard. Aerodactyl is now down and out. "You alright, Aerodactyl?" Aerodactyl gets back up. "Take a rest." He looked at Gengar. "Okay, you're the last one." Gengar steps in to battle. "Use Shadow Punch!" Gengar sends out a shadowy punch, landing a hit. "Use Shadow Ball!" Gengar hurls Shadow Ball right at Charizard, landing another hit.
"Charizard! Use Metal Claw!" Ash ordered. Charizard came at Gengar, landing a slash onto the Shadow Pokémon. "Use Dragon Pulse!" Charizard unleashed Dragon Pulse, landing some devastating damage. Gengar has been taken down. Sora has lost the battle.
"Lost to Ash again," Sora said. He smiled. "You were awesome, Ash."
"So were you, Sora. You'll do great in the Pokémon League," Ash said.
"Same to you, Ash," Sora said.
Unknown to any of them, Gary was watching from start to finish.
"It looks like they're both going to lose the Pokémon League. I wouldn't be surprised if they lost in the very first round," Gary said as he laughed.
Sora, Ash, Leaf, and Gary has some more training to do in the Pokémon League, so only one of them is going to win it. Stay tuned if you wanna see how it turns out.
