Pokémon: Sinnoh no Isekai

Chapter One-hundred and forty-nine: Continuing the adventure with a Kalosian reporter, also talk of continued travels

The heroes continued to journey through the Decolore Islands, with Alexa the reporter from the Kalos region by their side. During their continued travels, the group stopped off at an island famous for the once per decade passing of a celestial object known as the Conley Comet, as well as have an encounter with a mysterious woman who was nowhere to be seen the following day, also the medal she gave to Ash had vanished and what footage of the mysterious woman Alexa had gotten had turned to static. Kenny proposed that the mysterious woman was a phantom, which inspired a mildly freaked Iris and Bianca to usher the group to the next island.

The group then stopped off at an island where Alexa got footage of incubator gear at the island's local Pokémon Center while there were some shenanigans involving Alexa's Gogoat, then on another island the heroes had to deal with Iris's Emolga misbehaving after being scolded by Iris for an incident. The incident turned out to not be Emolga's fault, but it still didn't excuse Emolga's misbehavior before she was cleared of blame for the wrongdoing that wasn't her fault. Seeing that she pretty much didn't have a choice (Dragonite was growling at her while scowling), Emolga did show she was sorry for the bits that were her fault.

After that, the group arrived at Paladin Island, the last stop before the group had reached Vermilion City, Kanto. While on the island, Porter informed the group that Cilan had gotten a video call from Chili and Cress, his brothers. Cilan went to answer the call, and ended up learning that his brothers were actually on Paladin Island due to some manner of issue cropping up for them. The heroes and Alexa are met up by Chili and Cress, who inform them of a lady named Morana, who came from the Sinnoh region, to challenge them for ownership of the Striaton City gym, getting gym ownership should she emerge victorious against them in battle.

Morana had beaten Chili and Cress, but the boys were able to hold off by telling her she still had to beat their brother Cilan. Dawn, hearing what all was going on, decided to look into matters just as Morana showed up. It was there that Morana challenged Cilan to battle in order to complete her goal of taking over the Striaton City gym. They reconvened in front of a nearby light house in one hour, with the rest of the heroes (sans Dawn), Alexa, and Cilan's brothers watching as Cilan was prepared to face Morana in battle in order to defend the gym that he and his brothers had worked so hard to maintain in their careers as gym leaders.

...Fortunately for Cilan, there was no need for him to actually battle Morana because Dawn came in and, with a few books pertaining to inter-regional law in regards to the Pokémon Leagues of the various regions, proved that Morana's attempts to take over the Striaton City gym were actually downright illegal, as new gym leaders in a region had to be officially approved by various authority figures in the region in question. Morana would of have some legal basis if she actually had the okay from the right authority figures in Unova, but she had no such rights here; Morana essentially came in unannounced and tried to bully Cilan and his brothers out of their gym.

Dawn had also taken the liberty of contacting the Unova Pokémon League Commission and informed them of the situation, resulting in some authroities coming out to Paladin Island to handle things. When Morana, alarmed that she was getting into legal trouble, asked Dawn what the big idea was while threatening her with getting her region's Champion to back her up against Dawn, the reborn trainer arched a wry eyebrow at Morana. "...Oh, you're from Sinnoh," Dawn said which Morana confirmed, "And you're threatening to sic Sinnoh's Champion on me. Well here's a newsflash for you, Morana; I am Sinnoh's Champion." That shut Morana up.

Morana was then taken away, even charged with at least one count of unlawfully trying to out a gym leader from their position. As a side note, Dawn said she had even contacted Ideku Badorigo, the roaming trainer from Johto who is now Unova's Champion, and told him what had happened. He said that he'd personally never approve of Morana trying to become a gym leader in Unova, due to a mix of her trying to do so illegally and the fact she straight up tried to bully the Striaton City gym leaders into stepping down and letting her take their place. Ideku, wanting to set an example, will expect prospective gym leaders to do things by the book, as well as be nice.

Although the situation was resolved and the Striaton City gym was saved, Iris and Bianca admitted that they felt a little cheated because they were expecting Cilan to fight while giving his all because everything was on the line for him, so seeing things resolved without a battle made them feel things ended anti-climatically. It was Cilan who first said that he didn't care how the gym he and his brothers ran was saved, he just wanted it saved. However, he did applaud Dawn for saving the gym he and his brothers managed not only without violence, but by doing everything within respect to the law of the region. Dawn just said she doesn't like dealing with stupidity.

After the kerfuffle with Morana was settled (she was extradited back to Sinnoh to await trial because she had violated inter-regional law), Cilan revealed that he wasn't certain if he wanted to continue on with the group or to return to the gym he and his brothers manage, citing that he felt concerned that he wasn't there when Morana had initially tried her stupidity in taking over the gym. Chili and Cress, however, informed Cilan that he ought to continue his journeys with the heroes, saying that they would both work hard to defend their gym from challengers like Morana. Dawn had Cilan's brothers supplied with copies of legal material that would help them.

It was thus, with all issues settled, that the heroes were able to continue onwards to Vermilion City.

"Wait, so Lt. Surge was going hard due to being inspired by me?"

As the boat that the group was on sailed towards Vermilion City, Dawn and Kenny decided to recount their time in Vermilion City to the rest of the group, telling them about how Lt. Surge, the local gym leader, was going hard on challengers due to hoping that one of them would be like Ash. Lt. Surge held no ill will in his actions, but he did unintentionally cause a lot of damage anyway. Luckily, Dawn and Kenny were able to set things right. Ash himself was surprised to find that Lt. Surge was going as hard as he was because he was hoping for another challenger like Ash himself.

"Oh yeah," Kenny said, "And he was particularly amused with my victory against him, given that I had used Juan to defeat his Raichu."

Pointing at Kenny, Bianca said, "Juan is the name of your Pikachu in that adorable little libre wrestler outfit, right?"

Ash smiled in some mild degree of amusement. "Well I'm glad to see that Lt. Surge was meaning well and made up for the consequences he didn't intend for."

...

The boat eventually docked in Vermilion City, where the group had a meal at a local restaurant. While there, Iris, Cilan, and Bianca all revealed they respectively had the intention of going off on separate journeys of their own; Iris wanted to go to Blackthorn City to see Clair, Cilan saying he wanted to head over to participate in an Old Rod Fishing Rally hosted by Mr. Briney in the Hoenn region, and Bianca said that she wanted to go through other regions to challenge gyms and earn badges there, in the hopes all of those experiences will help her and her Pokémon grow stronger.

Ash, although a little sad to see some of his friends go, nodded in understanding and wished all of them luck in their respective endeavors. Ash, Alexa, and the reborn trainers then saw Iris, Cilan, and Bianca off on a train bound for Johto.

After the train had taken off from the station, Kenny said, "I have a question."

"What is it?" Dawn asked.

"Bianca said she wanted to challenge the gyms in other regions, right?" Kenny began, "So why didn't she decide to start with the gyms here in Kanto?" Folding his arms over his chest, Kenny said, "I would have advised her to use her Escavalier against Misty."

"Bianca said something about wanting to continue hanging with Iris," Ash explained. With their business in Vermilion City settled, the remainder of the group proceeded to make their way over to Pallet Town.

The group, after some traveling, arrived in Pallet Town, Kanto. "The last time Dawn and I were here," Kenny began, "We got to see Professor Oak. He gave Dawn and I a Charmander and a Bulbasaur respectively."

"I got a Squirtle from him," Trip commented.

Cracking her neck a bit, Dawn said, "Ash, you live here in Pallet Town, correct? Would it be alright if you showed us over?"

"Oh yeah," Ash said as he lit up, "You guys will also get to meet my mom as well."

Alexa smirked in amusement. "I bet she's a nice lady."

...

Over at the Ketchum residence, Mimey the Mr. Mime was sweeping the front path leading into gthe house when Ash, Alexa, and the reborn trainers came over. Mimey, seeing Ash, ran over and hugged him, drawing a smile out of the Kanto born trainer. "It's great to see you too," Ash said to Mimey. Ash then led the reborn trainers and Alexa to his house, opened the front door, and walked inside.

Upon entering the house, Ash called out, "Mom? I'm home!"

"Ash!" Delia called out from within the house, emerging from one of the rooms and, spotting Ash, made a beeline for him before wrapping her arms around him in a hug. "Oh sweetie, I'm so happy to see you again!"

Ash nodded in agreement. "I'm happy to see you too, mom. Oh, umm, I hope you don't mind that I brought some friends over."

Delia then turned to look at Alexa and the reborn trainers, never letting go of her hugging hold on Ash. "Oh!" Delia said upon seeing the reborn trainers, "Oak told me about you three, given he's housing your Pokémon at his lab!" Focusing on Dawn in particular, Delia went on, "And it seems what Ash told me is true! He really is friends with the Champion of Sinnoh!"

Dawn nodded once in acknowledgement. "It's nice to meet you as well, Mrs. Ketchum."

"You maintain a lovely house here, by the way," Trip remarked.

"'Suuuuuuuuuup," Kenny greeted.

Delia let out an amused giggle. "It's so nice to see Ash make a wide variety of friends." Delia then asked Ash if he had any laundry he needed done, as well as remark about how his bag looked worn from his travels. Ash said he tried his best in Unova, even though it wasn't enough to win him the Vertress Conference. Delia remarked that she and Oak actually saw Ash's battle against Ideku in the Vertress Conference as it was on TV, and Delia said that Oak mentioned that Ideku was a trainer who was vouched for by Professor Elm over in the Johto region. Delia also expressed surprise that Ideku had captured the legendary Pokémon Enamorus.

Dawn, Kenny, and Trip, each of them having caught a different member of Sinnoh's Creation Trio, were surprised as well but not as surprised as Delia.

After Ash put his Unova gym badge collection in his room, he and the reborn trainers were called down by Delia and Alexa. When the heroes met up with them, Delia and Alexa said that there was doing to be a big dinner party at the Ketchum residence later, and Delia wanted to invite Oak over. Additionally, Delia was betting that Ash wanted to see his Pokémon again. With all of that being said, Delia asked Ash and the reborn trainers to go to Oak's lab to ask him if he wanted to come by for the big dinner party that was going to be thrown.

The heroes agreed, and thus they set off to go see Oak at his lab. Alexa went off with them as well, saying she wanted to see what all shiny Pokémon that she was told was over at Oak's lab.

Over at Oak's lab, as Oak was showing to Alexa what all shiny Pokémon were collectively owned between Ash, Dawn, Kenny, and Trip, the heroes themselves saw to how the rest of their Pokémon were doing. Trip in particular, as all of his Pokémon were recently moved to Oak's lab. It was there that Ash, Dawn, and Kenny learned that Trip, in addition to what Pokémon of his they were already aware of, also owned a Feraligatr named Zidler and a Sceptile named Dovahgex; the named Feraligatr and named Sceptile were signs of Trip's travels through Johto and Hoenn.

"So Ash," Dawn began, "Where do your travels take you next?"

With a smile, Ash said, "I'm thinking of going to Kalos next. Alexa said that there's gyms there in Kalos, and that her sister is a gym leader." A look of wonder appeared on Ash's face. "...Also, for some odd reason, I'm getting vibes that Kalos isn't as new to me as I think it is, like I've met someone from Kalos aside from Alexa before..."

The reborn trainers had a feeling that Ash may be remembering a certain girl from long ago. "Well if there's gyms in Kalos," Dawn said, "Then Kenny, Trip, and I will be wanting to swing on by as well, so as to continue our Gym Challenge Tour. We'll just have to go to our respective homes first before heading off."

Gesturing to Pikachu, Trip said to Ash, "I can only assume that you'll be bringing Pikachu along with you to Kalos?"

"You better believe it," Ash replied, hints of amusement in both his tone and expression. Pikachu gave a likewise cry. After Pikachu had settled down, Ash went on, "...Also..." Taking a pokéball off from his belt, expanding it, and just holding it as he looked at it, Ash went on, "...I'm also thinking about bringing along two of the other Pokémon that I had used while traveling through Unova. Sort of like how I brought Infernape and Gardevoir along with me when Pikachu and I went to Unova."

"Considering that Infernape and Gardevoir had helped you deal with surprise encounters with Team Scorn," Kenny remarked, "Bringing two Pokémon in addition to your Pikachu is a wise idea. So who will be going with you and Pikachu to Kalos?"

With a nod, Ash said, "Steelix and Charizard."

Although Dawn's memories of the anime in her previous life prior to Sinnoh were fuzzy, and memories of the Unova anime were likewise fuzzy, she did have some more clairty on Kalos anime episodes. That being said, Ash saying he'll bring Steelix and Charizard with him will help him avoid trouble in certain battles he's bound to have while in the Kalos region. "...Heh," Dawn spoke aloud, "I'd like to see Team Scorn try to handle those two."

...

That evening, Ash, the reborn trainers, Alexa, Delia, and Oak all were at the Ketchum residence enjoying the dinner party that Delia had set up. During said dinner party, Ash said he was interested in challenging the gyms in Kalos. Dawn, Kenny, and Trip said they were likewise interested, but first they'd have to go to their respective hometowns to let their folks know. Ash also said that he was certain that he had some manner of familiarity with Kalos in some form, but he couldn't for the life of him remember where he had heard the name of the Kalos region before.

"Maybe you'll learn it when you go to Kalos, sweetie," Delia remarked after taking a sip from her drink.

"And you guys are going to challenge the gyms in Kalos as well," Oak said, "But are first going back to Sinnoh?"

Dawn nodded in the affirmative. "Kenny and I need to tell our respective parents about our plans, and after that we're heading back to Unova so that Trip can tell his folks what he's up to."

"I only have a mom," Trip said, "And she's always been happy to see me off on new adventure. Probably because of all the stories that I bring back with me, also she loves doting on my Luxray Basara."

"Oh, speaking of doting on electric Pokémon," Delia said, then continued after turning to face Ash, "Hey Ash, I got some copies of the outfits that one lady in Sinnoh made for Pikachus, such as the one Kenny always has his Pikachu in, and I was hoping you'd let me dress your Pikachu up in all of them and take photos."

Ash's Pikachu looked a bit worried that Delia wanted to dress him up in multiple little outfits, and Ash seeing this said to his mom, "I'm not so sure if Pikachu would be willing to let you dress him up. At least not without sufficiently bribing him."

"I do have plenty of Pokémon treats, don't you worry," Delia replied. And so it was that Ash's Pikachu, albeit with some reluctance, agreed to Delia dressing him up in outfits from the same line as Juan's Pika-Libre outfit. Speaking of, when Ash's Pikachu was in a Pika-Libre outfit, Delia was able to set up a scene of Ash's Pikachu and Juan looking like they were going to libre wrestle each other. Eventually, Delia got photos of Ash's Pikachu in each of the five different Pikachu cosplay outfits, the pink cutesy one being Delia's favorite.

...And Ash's Pikachu's least favorite.

The following morning, everyone woke up and, after getting freshened up, the heroes prepared to set off for their next destinations. The reborn trainers saw off Ash, in his outfit from the Kalos anime in their previous lives, as he and Alexa went to go catch the next flight to the Kalos region. After they were gone, the reborn trainers, after they all did appropriate party rotations at Oak's lab, took off for the Sinnoh region, where Dawn and Kenny would inform their respective families of their plans for Kalos before heading off to Unova so Trip can do the same with his mom.

The reborn trainers, after a lengthy plane flight, arrived in Sinnoh, and made their way to Twinleaf Town. There, Kenny went to his home where his folks lived; similar to Dawn, Trip, and Ash, Kenny only had one parent which was his mom. However, it turned out that Kenny also had a little sister, who essentially looked like a girl version of Kenny except she was in the same size range of a certain little blonde haired girl that the reborn trainers expected to meet in Kalos. Kenny's mom, as a side note, looked like a female adult Kenny who was roughly as tall as Delia.

While Kenny was at his place, letting his younger sister play with Lin, Mina, Majora, and Jibanyan, Dawn and Trip were at the Berlitz residence. There, Dawn set up her accolades she gained in Unova; her ten Unova gym badges which were in a frame and placed on the wall, and the Alder keychain she got for helping to quell Iris's rampaging Dragonite during the Pokémon World Tournament Junior Cup. She also returned her copy of the book 'Paranoia's Price' to where her other reading material had been gathered and placed, along with adding a few additions to said collection with magazines that had articles recounting some of Dawn's feats in Unova.

"So Kalos is the next region we'll be going through," Trip said, "After we swing by Unova so I can see my mom and let her know my travels will be continuing."

Dawn nodded once in the affirmative. "Yeah, the Kalos region." Although Dawn still favored the Sinnoh anime from her previous life, she still had some clarity of memory on Kalos content. Especially since the Kalos games had mega evolution, a gimmick that Dawn bet she, Trip, and Kenny would be wanting to dip their hands into. Each of them had a few mega evolution capable Pokémon each, and as a matter of fact Dawn had her Lucario Leni on hand, and Lucario is a mega evolution capable species. Dawn also recalled how her overall most commonly used mega evolution was Mega Aerodactyl, having proved in the video games in Dawn's previous life to be a terror to deal with in battle. A few people who Dawn had beaten in random online battles, as well as Trip back when Dawn and Trip were Don and Piper, could attest to.

Dawn also remembered that Ash, in addition to bringing Pikachu with him to Kalos, was also bringing Steelix and Charizard, both of which were also mega evolution capable species of Pokémon. Dawn did remember the Journeys anime episodes from her previous life, where Ash eventually gets his own Lucario, but the last episode of the Journeys anime Dawn saw before she died of an asthma attack and isekai'd into the new world she lived in involved Chloe getting an Eevee (it was in Japanese, but Dawn saw it). Dawn had no idea what occurred in the Journeys anime beyond that point.

Turning to look at Trip, Dawn asked, "You think Ash may look into trying to get Charizard or Steelix to mega evolve in Kalos?"

"If he does, I hope he mega evolves Charizard into Mega Charizard X," Trip began, "Then uses it to wipe the floor with Alain's sorry face and the sorry face of Alain's own Mega Charizard X." Dawn could understand why Trip had a lack of fondness for Alain; Ash would have won the Kalos League Confernece in the anime were it not for Alain and his Mega Charizard X. Trip, always an Ash fanboy (Trip in his previous life as Piper was an Ash fangirl), did not enjoy seeing Ash lose a league conference after coming as close as he did. The Alola anime fixed that for Dawn's sister-brother, giving Ash his first region league conference win and making the boy from Pallet Town a Champion at long last.

It was as Trip finished venting that he and Dawn heard the front door down stairs open. "Hey Dawn, Dawn's friend," the voice of Dawn's mom Johanna called out, "I'm back from shopping! Also Kenny met up with me and came along!"

"Yo yo yo, K-Master is in the hizz-ouse!" Kenny's voice called out.

Dawn and Trip both wore amused, knowing smirks. "...Well now," Dawn began, "I think that it's time we met up with my mom so I can tell her what all we're planning to do next."

"Knowing Kenny," Trip began, "He may have given your mom some idea already."

...

Trip's assertion was accurate, as Kenny had told Johanna about the plans he, Dawn, and Trip had for going to the Kalos region. Johanna not only was perfectly okay with it, but said that there would be events in Kalos similar to Pokémon contests, and expressed interest in seeing them. The reborn trainers, thanks to their knowledge from their previous lives, knew what Johanna was talking about, and also expected a certain traveling companion that Ash would be collecting while in Kalos to be wanting to try her hand at said events that were similar to Pokémon contests.

Dawn and the boys also told Johanna that they first had to go back to Unova, so as to tell Trip's mom what they have planned. Johanna understood, and asked only that Dawn and the boys be careful. The reborn trainers gave their word that they'll be alright, and thus, after resting the night in Twinleaf Town (Dawn and Trip at the Berlitz residence, Kenny at his family's place), they were well rested and ready to head on back to Unova so as to let Trip inform his mom about what he planned to in regards to continuing his journey as a Pokémon trainer.

...A visit home that, unbeknownst to Trip, will be far more eventful than he could possibly imagine.

After a day and a half, most of which was spent flying via plane, the reborn trainers made it back to the Unova region, heading to Nuvema Town. There, they first stopped off at Professor Juniper's lab, where they met Juniper herself who at they time they saw her was being visited by her dad Cedric. Given that turned out that it was Cedric's screw-up that ultimately led to Team Scorn acquiring Reshiram, Kenny decided to stick to referring to Cedric as Daddy Juniper. Cedric, knowing that he was responsible for causing mass doom to the world at large, understood and accepted it.

While at Juniper's lab, the reborn heroes took the time to do some party rotation, although it was mostly Kenny as he had four of his 'little buddies' on hand and despite how he loves them, he wanted to bring a strong on hand crew with him to Kalos. Kenny kept Roshi and Black on hand, but rotated in Cell, Kermit, Shallot, and Godzilla. "So you kids are off to Kalos next, huh?" Juniper remarked, "Then maybe you'll look into the Team Scorn activities going on there."

"If Team Scorn is active in Kalos, then that's all the more reason for the lads here and I to go to Kalos," Kenny said to the Junipers while gesturing to Dawn and Trip, "We can't let Team Scorn get away with further evil. Especially since Daddy Juniper here is ultimately responsible for letting Team Scorn know where to go to collect what all they needed to successfully get a hold of Reshiram."

Cedric nodded once in guilty understanding. "I know, I know. My pride in finding the White Ruins and making said discovery public knowledge by getting it on the news is what led to Team Scorn acquiring a legendary Pokémon who's on par with Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina."

"The three of you will be needed now more than ever due to the vastly increased level of threat that Team Scorn poses," Juniper said to the reborn trainers, "Hopefully in Kalos, you'll find more allies, as well as greater strength to help you combat the threat that is Team Scorn."

Dawn nodded in agreement; she was actually intending to look into acquiring the means to use mega evolution while in Kalos, and figured that being able to mega evolve some of her Pokémon would be a boon. Dawn likewise felt that Kenny and Trip will also be interested in acquiring access to the mega evolution mechanic; given that they had a more threatening than ever Team Scorn to worry about, the reborn trainers felt justified in wanting to get access to mega evolution so that they-

*THOOM*

Dawn's thought process was cut off suddenly when she, the boys, and the Junipers heard a blast coming from somewhere outside of Juniper's lab. As everyone stood up, a mid twenties woman who lived in Nuvema Town came rushing into Juniper's lab. "Professor Juniper!" the woman cried out in clear panic, "There's a huge number of Team Scorn grunts invading Nuvema Town! We're under attack!"

"Team Scorn is here?!" Juniper exclaimed. Turning to look at the reborn trainers, Juniper said, "Dawn, boys, would you-"

"Of course the boys and I will kick Team Scorn's sorry ass out of town," Dawn replied, a serious scowl on her face as she pounded a fist into her hand. Wasting no further words, the reborn trainers all rushed out of Juniper's lab, ready to confront the force of Team Scorn that had shown up in Nuvema Town in order to do... whatever it was that they intended to do. But whatever it was, Dawn and the boys by no means were going to let Team Scorn succeed.

END, CHAPTER ONE-HUNDRED AND FORTY-NINE

Author's notes;

This chapter sees the last of the business the main bulk of the heroes had to deal with in Unova, before seeing Iris, Cilan, and Bianca go their separate ways from Ash and the reborn trainers, who eventually make it to Kanto with Alexa. There, the remaining heroes discuss plans for going to Kalos, which Ash and Alexa do while Dawn, Kenny, and Trip first have to go to their respective homes to let their respective families know what they have planned. Dawn's and Kenny's families give their okay, and as such they and Trip head back to Unova so that Trip can tell his mom what he plans to do.

...However, the heroes before Trip sees his mom go to Juniper's lab and, while chatting it up with Juniper and Cedric, they all are surprised by an explosion that sounds off from somewhere in Nuvema Town. A citizen of Nuvema Town then rushes in and announces that Nuvema Town has suddenly fallen under attack by a large group of members of Team Scorn. Dawn and the boys, Trip especially so, get ready and head out to confront the Team Scorn menace that decided that besieging the hometown of the boy who caught Dialga would be a good idea. Stay tuned to see how this turns out.
