Chapter One-hundred and fifty: Siege on Nuvema Town

Dawn, Kenny, and Trip were having a conversation with Professor Juniper and her dad Cedric when Nuvema Town was suddenly besieged by Team Scorn forces. The trio of reborn trainers had no clue as to what Team Scorn wanted this time, but given the fact that Team Scorn had scored some successes in recent events, particularly with how they had succeeded in setting up Boss's Assistant Ayane to capture Reshiram, Dawn and the boys weren't in any particular mood to see Team Scorn score any more successes... pfft, at all, really.

"Hey guys," Kenny began as he ran with Dawn and Trip, "What do you think the odds are that Team Scorn came here because they somehow knew that the three of us are here, and Ayane wants to test out her Reshiram by challenging one of us?"

"One, it's a good thing we all have our respective legendary dragons on hand," Trip began, "And two, if Ayane showing up does turn out to be the case, the three of us can just gang up on her! She has only one big legend, so we can send out Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina out all at once to overwhelm her!"

"If it wasn't for the fact that the person we're considering ganging up on is a member of a villainous organization who's the right hand girl of said organization's boss," Dawn began, "Then a fair few folks at least would have considered us ganging up on someone like that really low."

The three reborn trainers rounded a corner, but they were confronted by a group of about a dozen Team Scorn grunts, with a roughly even gender ratio. "Hey, it's some trainers here in Nuvema Town," one female Team Scorn grunt said to her fellows while pointing at Dawn and the boys, "Let's beat them and steal their Pokémon!"

The remaining Team Scorn grunts in that group all let out cheers of agreement, but were cut off when they all heard Dawn and the boys each send out a Pokémon; Dawn had sent out Chi-Chi, Kenny had sent out Roshi, and Trip had sent out Myde. "...Members of Team Scorn," Dawn began, "A question for you. What is it that you and your fellow Team Scorn members attacking Nuvema Town here are hoping to accomplish? What's your end goal?"

"We don't know, given that Captain Zed refused to answer any questions for us," a second female Team Scorn grunt replied.

"And even if he did tell us anything," one male Team Scorn grunt went on, "We wouldn't tell you!"

The reborn trainers, although still ready to battle the Team Scorn grunts confronting them, looked mildly confused. "...Wait a minute," Dawn began, "We got it that Team Scorn's Captain Zed is a member of the Katana Sector which is based out of the Johto region. What's Zed doing leading a siege in the Unova region?" Giving the grunts in front of her a serious look, Dawn asked, "What, is Admin Swordsman short staffed or something?"

Surprisingly, some of the Team Scorn grunts in front of the reborn trainers seemed to be questioning the logic of the siege on Nuvema Town, given what Dawn had just pointed out to them. "That... is actually a valid point," the first female Team Scorn grunt replied, "We're not sure why Captain Zed would go through the trouble of bringing all of us over here to the Unova region. I mean, I don't think that Admin Brother had even informed Admin Swordsman about what Captain Zed is doing here."

Shrugging, a second male Team Scorn grunt said, "Maybe he wanted to surprise the higher ups with a successful mission?"

"Grr, we'll figure that out later!" the first male Team Scorn grunt growled in annoyance, "Let's just beat these would-be heroes in front of us, take their Pokémon, and then take them hostage!"

"Heh," Kenny laughed, "You all will try."

Meanwhile, in another location in Nuvema Town, Captain Zed himself was leading a group of grunts, including his Captain's Assistant Kenji, through a more residential area. "Kenji, my good man," Zed began, "This siege on Nuvema Town will not only give the trainers that Team Scorn's higher up have dossiers on reason to think twice before trying to cross Team Scorn ever again, but it'll be my next step to promotion to First Captain of the Katana Sector."

"Sir, you're at Fourth Captain right now," Kenji pointed out in a dry, long suffering tone, "Also, this mission you're leading not only wasn't authorized by Admin Brother much less any Admin, but if it truly is a mission designed to directly attack on a personal level one of the trainers that the Team Scorn higher ups have dossiers on, then not only will you give them more reason to confront Team Scorn, but the Team Scorn higher ups will be VERY upset with you given that we were told going after those trainers at a personal level is strictly forbidden."

"Kenji, you're one of my most trusted subordinates and like a son to me," Zed began, "But once again you've earned my contempt. It won't matter that this mission wasn't authorized by an Admin or that it by its nature is something the Admins have forbidden." Holding his arms behind his back, Zed went on, "Because we'll not only succeed, but do so flawlessly." Looking around, Zed was looking at some of the houses that were in the residential area that he was in, checking the addresses of those houses, as if he were looking for one specific house in particular.

The Fourth Captain of Team Scorn's Katana Sector looked like he had found the house that he was looking for. "Aha, bingo," Zed said. Striding towards the house with a clearly overinflated sense of ego and self worth, Zed said, "Kenji, sit back and watch as I prove that the successes justifies the rule-breaking."

"You mean to say 'the ends justify the means', sir," Kenji replied. Zed rolled his eyes dryly at Kenji's dry, long suffering snark as he boldly made his way to the house in question, clearly aiming to do what he felt would be his ticket to going up through the ranks. He felt that he could already taste the promotion to First Captain of Team Scorn's Katana Sector, despite how he had been demoted down to Fourth Captain so shooting straight up to First Captain was virtually impossible. That still didn't stop the egotistical man from breaking into the house that he had singled out, though.

Dawn and the boys had virtually zero trouble defeating the Team Scorn grunts who accosted them, sending all of them packing with their tails between their legs. "Well that was incredibly easy," Kenny remarked.

"What I would like to know is why a Captain from a sector of Team Scorn not native to Unova is leading a siege on a Unovan town," Dawn remarked, "What does that Zed guy think he can accomplish by besieging Nuvema Town?"

Shrugging, Kenny offered, "I don't know, maybe he thinks he can get one of the Pokémon that Professor Juniper offers to beginning trainers as starters?"

Trip's eyes widened at the idea Kenny had come up with. "...You think Zed's aiming to steal some Unova starters?"

Gesturing to Trip, Dawn said, "Well each Team Scorn Admin we've learned of thus far owns a fully evolved starter Pokémon. Maybe Zed thinks he can cozy up to a new Admin in Team Scorn by providing them with a starter Pokémon."

"Don't fully evolved starter Pokémon belonging to Team Scorn Admins always kick the ass of Kenny's Tyranitar?" Trip asked rhetorically.

"'AY!" Kenny exclaimed.

Gently shaking her head, Dawn replied, "It doesn't matter. What does matter is that Juniper's lab may be a target of this attack, and for the reason that Kenny had come up with. I think that we ought to double back to the lab and see if Juniper and her dad need to be saved."

"Yeah, we gotta bail Professor Juniper and Daddy Juniper out of trouble," Kenny agreed as he and the other reborn trainers ran back to Juniper's lab, "Also, screw you Trip, I bet that Godzilla will take out the next fully evolved starter Pokémon belonging to a Team Scorn Admin that he fights!"

...

When the reborn trainers arrived at Juniper's lab, they did indeed see members of Team Scorn there. Furthermore and to their worry, among the number there were Admin Swordsman and his Admin's Assistant Haruka, the main command for Team Scorn operations in the Unova region. However, to the mild confusion of Dawn and the boys, Swordsman was chewing out some grunts in front of Juniper's lab, or at least he looked like he was chewing them out. Dawn and the boys had to get closer to hear what all was being said.

"...Is not only the most reckless example of abuse of authority that I have ever seen out of any Team Scorn officer," Swordsman said, "But is also acting well beyond what authority he does have! Seriously! What the hell is-"

"Team Scorn!" Trip called out, cutting Swordsman off and making him Haruka, and the grunts all turn to look at him, Dawn, and Kenny.

"Aww geez," Swordsman said, "You three are here!" Turning to look back at the grunts, Swordsman scowled, "One of you had better figure out how to get a hold of Zed so that I can yell at him to pull everyone he led here out of Nuvema Town! I'm also going to have a serious talk with Admin Brother about what all he lets his Captains get away with!"

"...So you really don't know anything about this attack on Nuvema Town," Dawn said to the head of Team Scorn's Longsword Sector.

"Which is my hometown, by the way!" Trip snapped.

That revelation from Dawn's sister-brother made Swordsman go wide eyed with worried alarm. "...Shiiiiiiiiit," Swordsman said, "This is the hometown of one of the high threat level trainers who owns a legendary Pokémon? Yeah, Ayane and the boss will not like hearing about what Zed did here today." Holding his hands up at shoulder level with the palms facing forward, Swordsman said, "Look, heroes. Just let me get a hold of Brother's dumb Captain, yell at him, and make him withdraw all of the men he's brought here. This siege was by no means sanctioned by the top brass of Team Scorn."

"Sanctioned or not," Dawn growled, "It's still a siege that you guys did." Dawn and the boys recalled their fully evolved Sinnoh starters who they still had out, but the three reborn trainers got ready to send out Palkia, Giratina, and Dialga. "So here is what's going to happen," Dawn began, "First off, you will-"

"-Be backing away from Admin Swordsman, foolish would-be heroes," the familiar voice of Zed called out, making everyone turn to see Zed standing there, backed by Kenji and a group of Team Scorn grunts.

"Zed!" Swordsman snapped, "The hell are you doing?"

Gesturing to the reborn trainers, Zed explained, "Making it so that the idea is sent to high threat level trainers like them to stay out of Team Scorn business from here on out, Admin Swordsman. I've just succeeded in sending the message, so now my men and I will be pulling out of Nuvema Town and heading back to the Katana Sector in Johto." Holding his hands up at around pec level with the palms facing forward, Zed said with a self assured air, "No need to thank me."

"...What did you do?" Trip snapped, instantly alarmed by what Zed had said.

"You'll see after Team Scorn leaves," Zed replied, "And when you do, take it as a message to stay out of Team Scorn's business from here on out. We don't need would-be heroes getting up in our faces."

Swordsman gave an exasperated sigh. "Zed, just withdraw your men from Nuvema Town already!" Letting out a sigh that was a mix of exasperation and frustration, Swordsman went on, "I so do not need to deal with whatever mess you've made just now!" The reborn trainers tried to stop Team Scorn from leaving, but while Zed got scared and moved to hide behind the grunts he had with him, some of the grunts that were being chewed out by Swordsman lit Molotov Cocktails and threw them at the windows of Juniper's lab, crashing through the windows and starting a small fire.

This forced the reborn trainers to focus on putting out the fire, letting Team Scorn get away. By the time the reborn trainers had helped Juniper and Cedric put out all of the fire that was threatening to engulf Juniper's lab, they got it from a male Nuvema Town citizen that all of Team Scorn had pulled out of Nuvema Town. Given that the Admin who was seen was heard saying something about 'not wanting to deal with Dawn Berlitz, Kenny Harris, and Trip Barley', it was figured that Team Scorn all turned tail and ran because they discovered that Dawn and the boys were in Nuvema Town.

As the citizenry of Nuvema town began to cheer in celebration over repelling the Team Scorn attack, with many even singing the praises of the reborn trainers as their very presence is what had made Team Scorn turn tail and run, Dawn got everyone to settle down by saying that although Team Scorn was repelled, there was still a need to assess what all damage had been caused by the siege. Juniper and Cedric both agreed with Dawn, and as such they and the reborn trainers led the rest of the people of Nuvema Town in assessing what all damage had been caused by the Team Scorn siege.

Later, Ideku Badorigo was seen arriving in Nuvema Town. The roaming trainer from Johto, having recently become the Champion of Unova, seemed to be in a bit of a hurry as he made his way through Nuvema Town, heading towards Juniper's lab. Upon practically bursting into the lab, the first thing Ideku said was, "What happened?! Is everyone alright?!"

Dawn, Kenny, Juniper, and Cedric all turned to see that Ideku had arrived. "Ideku!" Dawn said, "Yeah, we're all alright for the most part. Right now we're just cleaning up after Team Scorn left Nuvema Town."

"Some of the rank and file threw Molotov Cocktails into Juniper's lab to distract us so they could flee," Kenny said, "But aside from some singe marks on the floor and ceiling, as well as the loss of just one chair, no noticeable damage was done."

"Some other buildings in Nuvema Town," Dawn went on, "Mostly in the residential areas, were also damaged, but it's nothing too serious, and some repairs are already being done. There were, however, several attempts to steal Pokémon belonging to Nuvema Town residents, with four attempts actually succeeding, getting away with a total of six Pokémon."

Ideku wore a very serious look on his face. "...I understand that it's the Longsword Sector of Team Scorn that tends to cause trouble in Unova, and that it's headed by that Admin Swordsman fellow. Tell me, do any of you have any idea why he'd allow for-"

"Actually," Kenny interrupted, "We learned during the siege that it was led by Captain Zed from the Katana Sector, and that he acted without any knowing or permission from any Admins of Team Scorn."

Ideku arched a wry eyebrow. "...Really?"

Gesturing to Ideku, Dawn went on, "We also got it that Zed carried out this attack on Nuvema Town on the basis of trying to send a message to one of us to give us the idea that we're to stay out of Team Scorn's business. Given that it was Nuvema Town that has been attacked, we're guessing that Zed was trying to carry out a personal attack against Trip."

"Speaking of Trip," Cedric began, "Where is that young man?"

Trip sat in the ruined living room of the house he and his mom lived in while police went over the area, taking photographs of various things. The reborn trainer seemed a bit on the shell-shocked side of things as he was hunched over while sitting on a footrest, his named Empoleon Myde out to keep him company in these troublesome times that he now had to face. It was as Trip suppressed a shudder that attempted to lull him into crying that he and some of the police officers had heard the voices of Dawn and Kenny outside of the house.

Recognizing Dawn and Kenny as Trip's companions and as heroes of Nuvema Town same as Trip, the officers let Dawn and Kenny in to see Trip. When the other two reborn trainers entered the Barley residence, they saw the signs of a break in and struggle. It was clear to Dawn and Kenny that nothing good had happened here at the Barley residence, and seeing Trip in a state of shell-shock not only further confirmed that theory, but it made Dawn and Kenny concerned for Trip as alarm bells were now going off in their heads at full volume.

Dawn was especially concerned for Trip because, although they were now due to the roulette of Isekai roughly the same biological age and had swapped genders, Dawn still had the instincts of an older brother, and Trip right now was clearly a vulnerable younger sister. Dawn and Kenny made their way over to Trip, and it was Dawn who stood him up and, with her hands on his shoulders, looked him right in the eyes, her firm and serious look telling her sister-brother that he was not going to have to be alone on this one, whatever it was.

Dawn then asked Trip a single question, only two words long. But it was a question that she not only dreaded having to ask, but knew full well that she had to ask it anyway. "...What happened?" Trip, while looking at Dawn, slowly winced as tears welled up in the corners of his eyes. Trip then fell forward into Dawn, burying his face in her right shoulder, as he wrapped his arms around her body under her arms. Trip then began to gently cry, struggled as he did to not cry, shuddering as he tried to pull it together so he could tell Dawn and Kenny what had happened.

"...My mom's been killed."

According to eyewitness testimony that was gathered, a uniquely dressed member of Team Scorn broke into the Barley residence and, after a few moments with sounds of struggle coming from the house, a gunshot went off, followed by the uniquely dressed Team Scorn officer emerging no worse for wear. CSI teams that arrived on scene after the siege were able to tell with just a casual glance that Trip's mom had been killed when shot right in the middle of her forehead with a gun. They would need to do an actual autopsy to determine the caliber of gun used, but given that no one saw anyone during the siege carrying a gun, the model of gun was most likely something that can be easily concealed, like a handgun.

It was blatantly obvious that Captain Zed of Team Scorn's Katana Sector was the killer; given what he said before Team Scorn left Nuvema Town, it could be reasoned that Zed had gone out of his way to lead the siege on Nuvema Town just so that he could kill Trip's mom in order to try to intimidate him into keeping his distance from Team Scorn from this point moving forward. In reality, it ended up having the opposite effect; Trip now wanted brutal bloody vengeance on Zed, and the reborn trainer's determination to fight Team Scorn as a whole had been redoubled. Luckily for Trip, he already had more clarity of mind than Bianca did when she was trying to pursue revenge on a Team Scorn officer, so he was willing to play the long game if needed.

However, that didn't resolve the more pressing and immediate issue of how Trip was now an orphan; his mom was his only family he had. Dawn and Kenny told their respective families about what all had happened and, to Dawn's surprise, Johanna said that she would be willing to take Trip in as a foster child, so that he would at least have a home to come home to. Johanna also admitted that she wanted a daughter AND a son, and this development although not how she had imagined accomplishing her stated desire did allow for her to have one child of each gender.

As a matter of fact, Johanna came out to Unova to, among other things, help with managing the estate of the Barley residence. Within a day, what all that was being kept from the Barley residence was packed up and shipped to the Berlitz residence in Twinleaf Town, Sinnoh. The Barley residence house itself, along with what all items were not being kept, were liquidated and, as Mrs. Barley's only surviving relative, Trip got what all money was gotten from that. There wasn't going to be anything done with Mrs. Barley's remains at least for the time being, given that she's the victim of a Team Scorn committed crime that's the subject of an ongoing investigation, but Johanna given that she was granted legal custody of Trip was given the appropriate contact info when Mrs. Barley's remains were free to be cremated or buried.

Dawn still couldn't believe what had happened to Trip; she was also surprised that this was the first case of someone in Team Scorn who was NOT at the Admin rank having killed a person. Dawn also was able to see that when a Team Scorn Admin killed, they had an understandable reason that reflected something that was personal to them on some level. Brother had killed Miss Akeno because she was harshly going on about people with autism, and that had apparently struck a nerve with him; Brother probably had an autistic relative who he cared greatly for. Swordsman believed in (an extreme form of) freedom being a universal right to all people, Pokémon trainers especially so, so he killed people he felt were denying others that universal right to freedom.

(Dawn didn't know it then, but Admin Ninja of the Kunai Sector based in the Hoenn region had killed two people because they both had ganged up on and killed the girl who Ninja had fallen in love with a few years prior.)

As for Zed, the first non-Admin from Team Scorn to kill a person? He had no personal reason for wanting to carry out the heinous act, and did so solely because he wanted to intimidate one of the heroes into backing off from interfering with Team Scorn activities from that point moving forward. And rather than accomplish the goal that was stated, Zed's actions had accomplished the opposite effect. Ultimately, Zed's actions had done nothing in the end but sic a pissed off orphan on Team Scorn; a pissed off orphan who has the legendary Pokémon Dialga at his beck and call.

There was still the matter of Team Scorn getting away with the consolation prize of six Pokémon belonging to Nuvema Town residents. Ideku said that he would look into the matter personally; not only did this latest Team Scorn act take place in the region that Ideku was the Champion of, but it was carried out by members from the Team Scorn Sector native to Ideku's home region. As a side note, Ideku's presence in Nuvema Town received a mixed reception; some folks were happy to see their region's newest Champion helping out in dealing with a Team Scorn problem, but others, mostly older folks, didn't like Ideku on the basis that he's a foreign born person in a position of power and or authority in the Unova region.

Within due time, all arrangements had been made for Trip to move into the Berlitz residence in Twinleaf Town, Sinnoh. Any and all contact information needed in regards to managing what remaining legal business there is regarding what had happened was given to Johanna, as she became Trip's foster mom slash legal guardian. It was in this sense that Trip and Dawn, once again, were brother and sister, albeit Trip was now the brother and Dawn was now the sister. With the last of the necessary matters of business in the Unova region handled, the reborn trainers returned to Twinleaf Town, Sinnoh, and after resting there the night, proceeded to make their way to Kalos.

The three of them, Trip especially so, needed something, anything at all, to take their minds off of what had happened. Continuing their journey and Gym Challenge tour was a step in the right direction.

(UNKNOWN LOCATION, JOHTO REGION)

Admin Brother, head of Team Scorn's Katana Sector, was sitting in his office at the Team Scorn base in the Johto region. In the office with him were his Admin's Assistant Akari (who is Brother's actual younger sister), and two male Team Scorn grunts. One had bright yellow hair that was somewhat scruffy, and the other had long dark hair that at least reached his collarbone, also the ends of his hair were a somewhat lighter shade.

The two male Team Scorn grunts watched as Akari gently stroked the front of the neck of a small avian Pokémon that was sitting on the blonde grunt's left knee; this small avian Pokémon had a mostly black colored nub-like head with an orange beak and yellow coloration going down from under the beak, a gray body, yellow wings with some black coloration mixed in, and orange legs with webbed feet.

Next to the dark haired male Team Scorn grunt was a swine Pokémon that was mostly dark colored, save for pink colored feet, pink colored nub at the end of a dark colored curly tail, pink colored snout, and pink colored upper eyelid on the right eye; the left eye of the swine Pokémon was covered by its left ear. The swine Pokémon also seemed a little jealous of the small avian getting attention from Akari.

Akari was still gently stroking the front of the small avian Pokémon's neck when there was a knock at the door leading into Brother's office. "Shimono, can you get that?" Brother asked.

"Right," the blonde grunt replied as he got up from where he sat on the sofa in Brother's office, making his small avian Pokémon fly up and then land back down on his right shoulder. Seeing that the small avian Pokémon left with the now identified Shimono, Akari turned her attention to the swine Pokémon that the dark haired grunt had out. Shimono opened the door, and there stood Captain Zed, who had Kenji following him.

Shimono was about to say something, but Zed immediately interrupted by saying, "Out of my way, soldier. The Admin needs to speak with me."

"We also need to discuss the respect you show to those of a lower rank than you, it would seem," Brother called out from where he sat at his desk, his tone making it clear that he was by no means pleased with Zed. Turning to address Kenji, Brother said, "Kenji, would you mind escorting Akari out of my office for a bit? I don't want her to be around for the yelling I'm about to do."

Kenji nodded in understanding and turned to address his Admin's Assistant. However, in the time all other eyes were off of her, Akari had dressed the dark haired grunt's swine Pokémon up with a appropriately sized black top hat, a black bow tie, and she even put a monocle on its uncovered eye. She even tried leaning a small walking cane against the swine Pokémon. "...What sort of Pokémon even is that?" Kenji asked.

"It's my Oinkologne," the dark haired grunt explained, "Well, the boy one I own. I have two, the other being a girl who looks different because Oinkologne have different appearences based on gender. The boy's named Sir and the girl's named Ma'am, because sending both out while saying 'go Oinkologne and Oinkologne' got a little confusing, even for Sir and Ma'am."

Pointing to his small avian Pokémon, Shimono said, "And this is my Wattrel." Jerking a thumb at the dark haired grunt, Shimono said, "Matsuoka over there and I had done some work over in the Paldea region, helping with getting one of the new sectors of Team Scorn up and running."

"So there are going to be more sectors of Team Scorn," Zed commented as Kenji did as Brother asked and led Akari out of the room.

After the door was closed behind Kenji and Akari, Brother let out a mildly exasperated sigh. "...Yes, there are now more sectors of Team Scorn beyond the Katana Sector here in Johto, the Kunai Sector over in Hoenn, the Shield Sector over in Kalos..." Arching a wry eyebrow at Zed, Brother went on, "...And the Longsword Sector over in Unova. Speaking of, I got the most wonderful call from Admin Swordsman, who heads the Longsword Sector."

Shimono and the now identified Matsuoka could tell full well that Brother was being sarcastic when he said the call he got from Swordsman was wonderful, but Zed was clearly oblivious to it. "Ah yes," Zed said, "He must have told you how I had boldly and valiantly led a regiment of Team Scorn's finest in laying siege to Nuvema Town in order to send a message to Dawn Berlitz and her companions to stay out of Team Scorn's business from that point moving forward. I believe that it should be sufficient to scare them into-"

*SLAM*

"ARE YOU REALLY THAT FUCKING STUPID, ZED?!"

Zed was cut off when Brother forcefully stood up from his desk and slammed the surface of it with both of his hands, right before shouting at Zed. It took Brother's clearly pissed off expression, the pissed off air he gave off, and his angered yelling to get it through Zed that he may have screwed up. "First off," Brother said, "You not only led an unauthorized mission, but it was into a region that's the jurisdiction of another Team Scorn Sector! What's worse is that I got it you didn't even bother to so much as let Admin Swordsman know you and the men you brought with you were even in Unova!"

"I... fail to see why you're upset, sir," Zed replied, looking mildly concerned, "The mission was a success. Now those troublesome trainers will understand that they are not to interfere with Team Scorn activity ever again."

"That's another thing!" Brother shouted, "You were told that the specific trainers that Team Scorn has dossiers on were to be avoided if possible! Instead of doing that, you apparently decided to not only knowingly and willingly get up in the face of one of them, but you did so in a way that will have the opposite effect of what you were hoping for! And the specific trainer in question is Trip Barley! The boy who caught DIALGA! Seeing that Zed was now actually trembling a little, Brother felt some satisfaction, if only because it looked like Zed was finally getting the picture. "...You are on some seriously thin fucking ice, Zed," Brother explained, "If it wasn't for the fact that there are no currently available members in the rank and file who I felt had proven capable enough for a promotion to a Captaincy position, then I would have demoted you yet again, and down into the rank and file where I hope you won't be able to cause any more damage like what you had just done over in Unova, while promoting a competent rank and file to take your place."

The threat of being demoted down into the rank and file further scared Zed into being compliant, into actually listening to someone. Brother arched a wry eyebrow at Zed. "...That being said." Gesturing to where Shimono and Matsuoka stood in the office, Brother said, "Shimono and Matsuoka had proven marvelous over in Paldea in regards to helping Admin Slime set up Team Scorn's Mask Sector. So much so that if they continue to prove productive and competent, I'll promote one of them to the Captaincy position you currently hold and bump you down to the rank and file. So unless you wanna see that happen, carry out only orders that you are given. Do we have an understanding, Zed?"

"Sir, yes sir," Zed said with a salute.

Brother gave Zed a mildly unamused look. "...Good. You're dismissed for now, Captain. Tell Kenji on your way out of my office to send Akari back in." Zed took off, having been sufficiently cowed by his Admin, and did as Brother asked by having Kenji send Akari back in. After the door was closed behind Akari, Brother who saw that Akari looked scared instantly softened his expression. "Sorry if you hearing me yell had scared you, Akari," Brother reassured his Admin's Assistant and younger sister, "And you aren't the one in trouble here. It was that idiot Zed."

Akari relaxed visibly, then went back to petting and playing with Shimono's Wattrel and Matsuoka's named Oinkologne Sir. As Sir looked amused with how Akari had dressed him up as a sir, Brother leaned back in his seat and let out a long suffering, exasperated sigh. "...I can only hope that Admin Hero and his Shield Sector over in Kalos won't have to deal with any trouble like what I've had to do just now."

END, CHAPTER ONE-HUNDRED AND FIFTY

Author's notes;

This chapter covers the Team Scorn siege on Nuvema Town, which was the sole efforts of Captain Zed from the Katana Sector which is based in Johto. After Team Scorn was pulled out and damage assessment was done, the reborn trainers discovered that Trip's mother was deliberately killed by Captain Zed in a bid to intimidate Trip into ceasing to interfere with Team Scorn activities from that point moving forward. On the contrary, Trip after the initial getting over of his mom's murder and being taken in by Johanna as a foster child decides to go after Zed the way Bianca had gone after Swordsman, albeit Trip is more tempered and won't be as reckless.

Meanwhie over in Johto, Zed gets chewed out by Brother for multiple acts, and even manages to get through the thick head of the otherwise impossibly thick headed Team Scorn Captain serving under him by threatening him with demotion into the rank and file. Brother further backs up the threat by introducing two grunts friendly to him who had seen success in helping to set up a new Team Scorn Sector over in the Paldea region, as well as show the first appearance of generation nine Pokémon in this story. Anyway, the next few chapters will see a mix of adapting content from the BWS01 and BWS02 episodes, so stay tuned for more.
