Episode 74: I Plead the 5th Round
On the very next morning, Sora woke up, feeling refresh from his previous battles since he began the Indigo Plateau. He saw Pikachu and Angel sleeping soundly together. He didn't have it in his heart to wake them up, so he left them to have some sleep. Karen went up to her brother.
"Still sleeping?" Karen asked.
"Soundly, Karen," Sora said. "So how's your morning?"
"So far, so good," Karen said. "Haven't you given some thought about your next battle, Sora?"
"Not yet, but I think I'll put that on hold until later," Sora said.
"Well, you better make up your mind soon, because it's extremely important," Karen reminded her brother.
In Porta Vista, Cattleya is pouring a cup of tea when she felt something.
"Oh!" Cattleya yelped. She placed her hand on her belly. "Could this what I think it i-" She gave a light yell.
Hearing the yell, Danny came rushing in.
"Honey, what's the matter?" Danny asked. He stepped in a small flood of water. "Your water broke!"
"The baby's coming!" Cattleya exclaimed.
"Don't worry, hun! I'll get you over to the hospital! Just start breathing," Danny said as Cattleya started to breath. He took out his smartphone and dialed it.
Back in the Indigo Plateau, Sora's smartphone smartphone starts ringing and he saw it was his uncle when he answered it.
"Hey, uncle Danny. What's up?" Sora asked.
"Your aunt is having the baby now," Danny said. Sora was stunned hear it.
"When did she start?" Sora asked.
"A few minutes ago. We're heading to the hospital right now," Danny said.
"Man, oh man," Sora said.
"Tell Ventus that his mom is going to be okay," Danny said.
"Okay, I will," Sora said.
"And tell your mom about it and your sister, too," Danny said.
"I'll tell Karen, and I'll be sure to give my mom a ca-" Sora was cut off when he saw his mother.
"Hi, Sora," Delia greeted.
"Mom?!" Sora exclaimed in shock.
"Delia, you there?" Danny asked.
"It's me, big brother. What's going on?" Delia asked.
"My wife's having the baby and we're heading for the hospital," Danny said.
"Let me know how it goes, and sorry for not being there," Delia said.
"There are things you can't control. And be sure to root for Sora extra hard," Danny said.
"I will," Delia said.
"Be sure that you win, Sora," Danny said.
"I'll do my best," Sora said. He cuts contact with his uncle and he looked at his mom. "When did you get here?"
"Just a few minutes ago. Kairi and Karen told me you were in here, getting ready to step out," Delia said.
"Sora?" Ventus asked, stepping in.
"Ven, your mom's having the baby right now, so it's only a matter of time before we know when she comes," Sora said. Ventus smiled happily at the thought of being a big brother.
"Yay!" Ventus cheered.
"That's what I said when my mom said had my baby brother," Kairi said. Her parents were with her.
"Who else is here, my great aunt Matilda?" Sora asked.
"No, Sora, you know she hasn't left her house in six years," Delia said, chuckling. "Besides, Professor Oak is here too."
"Right," Sora said.
"Now, how about we go have some lunch together," Delia said.
"Okay," Sora said.
Sora, Kairi, Karen, Ventus, Pikachu, Angel, Togepi, Blossom, and Sparky joins Delia, Mirei, Yuta, Kairi's grandmother, and Professor Oak for lunch Delia gets to the restaurant. Seth is placed in a highchair as Delia heads for the kitchen and she makes the meals for everyone, leaving the chefs dumbfounded.
"Our customers do not come in here to cook," the head chef said.
"Well maybe they should try it sometimes," Delia said. "Sora! Come and get it!"
"And that's mom for you. Never shy from the kitchen," Sora said in a low tone.
"You know how she is," Karen said.
"So, what do you think?" Delia asked.
It didn't take long until the meal was ready. There was enough food for everyone.
"This looks great!" Sora and Kairi both said at once.
"Well, Sora," Professor Oak started. "When you win your next match, you will be allowed to use six Pokémon forward. Have you decided on which ones you will be using?"
"I just have to wait and see who I'll be up against first," Sora said, taking a bite.
"I have gotta hand it to you, Delia. This is excellent. It was no wonder the chef asked for the recipe," Kairi's grandmother said.
"Thank you," Delia beamed. She looks over to Kairi. "Sora tells me that he enjoys your cooking as well. Sounds to me that you did a good job with his diet."
"She should," Kairi's grandmother said. "The one thing both Kairi and Mirei learned is that the one way to win a man's heart is through his stomach." Mirei and Delia shared a laugh.
"You got that right. I remember when Kairi was little and she tried to cook on her own," Yuta said. He laughed at the memory. "Kairi did her best, she ended up burning the eggs; and I thought that the house was on fire." Yuta laughed some more while Kairi felt embarrassed by the memory. Sora definitely heard this story before.
"And I remember you yelling women and children first as soon as you smelled the smoke," Mirei said. She laughed. Kairi looked at her little brother.
"You'll be doing some embarrassing things as you grow older," Kairi said. The baby did her his own babbling.
"Well, Sora," Professor Oak started. "When you win your next match, you will be allowed to use six Pokémon forward. Have you decided on which ones you will be using?"
"I just have to wait and see who I'll be up against first," Sora said taking a bite.
"Of course. My grandson Gary said it was going to be. piece of cake," Professor Oak said.
"Hope he likes brick cake," Karen said, chuckling.
"Pikachu," Blossom said.
"Let's hope he doesn't breaks his teeth on that cake," Sora said.
Over to Gary, he gave off a light sneeze.
After they had their meal, a truck drives by. Team Rocket in disguises. Jessie spoke in the speaker.
"Attention please!" Jessie announced over the speaker, "May I have your attention please?" Sora definitely recognized that voice.
"This is an emergency announcement to all our participants in the Pokémon League competition," James added. "This is not only a test."
"All participating trainers must bring their Pokéballs to the Pokémon Pavilion for an official inspection immediately!" Jessie announced.
"Oh no," Sora groaned. "What are those stooges up to now?" He sighed to himself. "Up to no good as usual."
"You're right, Sora. They have to be pretty low to pull this stunt," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"We gotta tell Officer Jenny about this," Ventus said.
"You're right, Ven. Her, Riku, Naminé, Terra, and Aqua, too," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Togepi," Togepi chirped.
"Already heard it, Sora," Riku said. Sora, Kairi, Karen, and Ventus turned and saw Riku, Naminé, Terra, and Aqua, Thor, and Eclair arriving on the scene.
"And we got some help," Aqua added.
Three of the Officer Jennys arrived right on time.
"It's always a pleasure to uphold the law," one of the Officer Jennys said.
"Okay, let's do this thing," Sora said.
"It is essential that you bring all of your Pokéballs to the pavilion as quick as possible!" Jessie stated.
"And make it snappy!" James concluded turning off the loud speaker.
"This is our most schemiest scam yet for gettimg greedy for Pokémon," Meowth said as he, Jessie, and James laughed evilly.
Sora, Kairi, Terra, Ventus, Aqua, Riku, Naminé, the Pokémon and a few of the Officer Jennys were right on the scene about to spring their trap. Jessie and James stood outside the van with James holding a brown burlap sack.
"And here they are," Sora said turning to the Officer Jennys. "You ready to go?"
"We're ready when you are," one of the Jennys said. The rest of the group were in position to jump Team Rocket.
"Okay. Lights. Camera. Action," Sora said.
Jessie grabbed a loudspeaker and spoke into it, "We will now inspect all your Pokémon for physical examination. Please deposit all your Pokéballs into this offical looking man in the mustache."
"And a very cheesy mustache at that," Sora said in his thoughts.
"Any Trainers who fail to turn in all their Pokémon will be disqualified from the League," Jessie stated.
That was the Officer Jennys que to move in. They approached from behind the crowd as James opened the bag.
"Drop all your Pokéballs in here," James instructed.
"Let's hurry, Trainers," Jessie said.
"Nobody moves!" A new voice called out. Everyone stopped what they were doing as the Officer Jennys came through. "Do you have a special license for the inspection?"
Team Rocket winced at the question.
"All inspections must be done so with a license," the second Officer Jenny said.
"So, let us see one right away," the third Officer Jenny demanded.
Jessie and James turned around and whispered to each other.
"Jessie, you said that it'll be like taking candy from a baby," James pointed out. "Well, it doesn't seem to be working."
"Don't worry about it, James. It's not over yet," Jessie said. "We'll just have to improvise. Follow my lead." They turn around with smiles on their faces. "We just happen to have left our licenses at home."
"But license or no license, an inspection is an inspection," James said playing along.
"I'm sorry, but you must have a license with you at all times," the first Officer Jenny said. "So there no exceptions. So let us see them! Now!"
"So much for the old we left our license at home trick," James whispered. "Anymore bright ideas?"
"I'm thinking, I'm thinking," Jessie said.
And it was time for Sora to move in for his part. He looks over to his partner and said, "You know what to do."
"Pikachu," Pikachu nodded. "PIKACHU!" Pikachu fires Thunderbolt right at Jessie shocking her good.
"Guys! Now!" Sora shouted, throwing his Pokéballs. Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise, Dragonite, Pidgeot, and Arcanine came out of their Pokéballs, ready to go. "Arcanine, Charizard! Flamethrower! Venusaur! Razor Leaf! Blastoise! Hydro Pump!"
"Angel! Use Swift!" Kairi ordered.
"Eevee! Use Shadow Ball!" Riku ordered.
The Pokémon launched their attacks at Team Rocket, hitting them again, destroying their disguises. Everyone gasped when they saw they're with Team Rocket.
"How could our plan failed so fast?!" Jessie exclaimed.
"Maybe because you're even dumber than we thought," Sora taunted. They turned to him grinning. "What gave you away were your voices."
"You will pay for ruining our perfect plan you little!" Jessie scowled.
"Actually, you're the ones who are gonna pay," the first Officer Jenny said.
"Your debt to society," the third Officer Jenny said.
"You are under arrest!" All three Officer Jennys said.
Jessie and James started to dash off, leaving Meowth behind.
"I knew this plan was gonna blow before we could get far," Meowth said. "I better get going so I don't get caught." Meowth tried to make a break for it only for Karen, Terra, Ventus, Aqua, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, and Eclair standing behind the Scratch Cat Pokémon. "Uh-oh."
"You're in trouble," Karen said.
"Can't we just talk about it?" Meowth asked, feeling nervous.
"No," Karen said quickly. "Blossom! Use Double Kick!" Blossom gave Meowth a couple of kicks.
"Thor! Use Mega Punch!" Terra ordered. Thor gave Meowth a punch, sending him flying in the air.
"IT LOOKS LIKE MEOWTH IS BLASTING OFF SOLO!" Meowth yelled as he went flying in the air.
"And don't come back!" Ventus shouted after him.
Over to Jessie and James, they panted as they managed to get far enough from the police.
"I can't believe those brats saw through our plan like that!" James exclaimed.
"It only happened because you're so stupid!" Jessie barked at him.
"No! It was your brilliant idea! And that idea was stupid just like you!" James argued.
"You calling me stupid?" Jessie hissed.
"If the boot fits," James retorted.
"Say that again," Jessie dared him.
"If the boot fits," James repeated.
"Okay. Gloves off," Jessie said, literally taking off her gloves. "Let's go! Let's go!"
"Normally, I don't fight ladies," James said. "But you. Are. No. Lady." James took off his gloves and and about to have a fist fight with Jessie only to be interrupted by Meowth landing on top of them.
"Somebody catch the license plate on the truck that gone and hit me?" Meowth asked in a daze.
Back in the Indigo Plateau, everyone were all relieved that none of their Pokémon were taken from them by Team Rocket. The police went out to search for Team Rocket and arrest them for attempted theft of Pokémon.
"Good call on nailing Team Rocket, Sora," Riku said.
"Well, those losers got what they had coming," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
It was time for Sora to choose his next opponent. He grabbed a fishing pole and waited his turn.
"Sora Ketchum from Pallet Town, you're next," the clerk said. Sora placed the fishing line in the little pond and pulled out a Magikarp and had A-3 on the side. "A-3. That means your next opponent will be displayed on the screen." Sora's photo shows up on the screen and the screen also reveals that his next opponent is a teenaged boy with his hair is brown with dyed purple strands next to his forehead. He has purple-blue eyes. He wore a red beanie cap, plus tan pants. He wore a tan vest-thing on his jacket, and a black shirt.
"I'm battling that guy?" Sora asked.
"Looks like it to me," a new voice spoke. Everyone turned around and saw Sora's next opponent.
"Who're you?" Riku asked.
"I heard of him. He's Rex Raptor. He specializes with reptile-like Pokémon," Terra said.
"You heard right. And I just wanted to see who I'm up against," Rex said. "Just get ready to be annihilated." Sora just looked at him with a sour expression, picking up on his arrogance.
"Man, and I thought Mandi was full of himself," Sora said.
"Later, loser," Rex said, taking off. He stepped out and sees Weevil standing outside.
"Psst! Rex! Rex!" Weevil whisped. Rex turned and saw Weevil standing there.
"Weevil? What are you still doing here? I thought you went back to your little hive after getting your butt kicked by that kid," Rex said.
"Very funny," Weevil deadpanned. "Look, you better not lose this, otherwise you'll have me to answer to."
"I'm not gonna lose to him! I'm going to keep him from going to the finals, and I'll take the final round for myself," Rex said.
"You better not lose," Weevil said.
Over to Sora and his friends, he exchanges Arbok for Farfetch'd. He decided to use Farfetch'd, Hitmonchan, and Pikachu.
At the hospital, Cattleya screamed in pain, giving birth.
"That's it, Cattleya, you're doing good. Just one more push," the doctor said. Cattleya gave one more push. A cry is heard. Danny has cut the umbilical cord. The doctor than washed the baby clean and wrapped her in a pink towel.
"She's beautiful," Danny said, taking his newborn daughter. "The world's most beautiful baby girl."
"Danny, may I hold her?" Cattleya asked. Danny hands his wife the baby girl. Cattleya cooed as the baby girl stopped crying and made her baby sounds.
Danny took out his smartphone and he called Sora. He waited for Sora to answer. He didn't wait for long when Sora answered.
"Hey, uncle Danny. Has the baby been born yet?" Sora asked.
"Yes. Just now. Have a look," Danny moved his smartphone to his wife and daughter.
"Hello, Sora. Meet your new cousin," Cattleya said.
"She's beautiful," Sora said. "Ven, your sister has come." Ventus looked at the smartphone and he smiled.
"Mom, she's beautiful," Ventus said.
"She sure is," Cattleya said.
They end up talking for a few minutes before Danny spoke up.
"Anyway, Sora, you doing good in the Pokémon League?" Danny asked.
"Yeah, I won all four of my battles," Sora said.
"That's great. You battle hard in your next one, Sora, and give it your best," Danny said.
"I will," Sora said.
"I'll see you soon," Ventus said.
"You too, Ventus," Cattleya said. "Love you."
"Love you too, mom," Ventus said.
"Bye," Sora and Ventus said.
Several hours had passed and the battle of Sora and Rex was about to start. Sora had chosen his three Pokémon for the battle. Delia, Yuta, Mirei, Kairi's grandmother have taken their seats with Riku, Naminé, Eevee, Terra, Ventus, Aqua, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, and Eclair to wait for the battle to begin. Edgar had taken his seat to witness the battle.
"Ladies and gentlemen! The fifth round of the Indigo Plateau Pokémon League tournament is about to begin! It will be a battle between Sora Ketchum and Rex Raptor! Which one of these two gladiators will be moving on to the semifinals?" The announcer asked. Sora, Kairi, and Rex enters the ring to get started with their battle. "Rex and Sora has entered the ring. Sora's coach Kairi has taken her seat at the bench behind him while Rex has entered solo. Both Trainers are using three Pokémon each and the battle is over when all three are unable to battle!"
"You can bring in all the help you want, none of them is gonna be helping you!" Rex said.
"You can talk all you want, but nothing you say or do is going to psyche me out. Someone tried that and failed," Sora said.
"Begin!" The referee called out. Rex took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"You're in first, Arbok!" Rex called out. Arbok came out to battle. Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Farfetch'd! Go!" Sora called out. Farfetch'd came out, holding his leek in his wing.
"Arbok! Use Ice Fang!" Rex ordered. Arbok came at the Wild Duck Pokémon with its fangs emitting ice.
"Arbok is coming at Farfetch'd with Ice Fang! How will Sora respond?" The announcer asked.
"Dodge and use Cut!" Sora ordered. Farfetch'd dodges Arbok and swung his leek, striking Arbok on the mark.
"And Farfetch'd makes a comeback with a Cut!" The announcer announced.
"Use Night Slash!" Sora ordered. Farfetch'd came at Arbok with his leek giving a light blue glow. Farfetch'd lands a hit with his leek.
"And Farfetch'd has lands a hit with a Night Slash!" The announcer announced.
"Use Aerial Ace!" Sora ordered. Farfetch'd jumped backwards and lands a hit onto the Cobra Pokémon, dealing some heavy damage.
"Use Poison Tail!" Rex ordered. Arbok swings its tail and struck Farfetch'd.
"Arbok lands a little comeback with a Poison Tail! Will it stick or will Farfetch'd push Arbok back?!" The announcer exclaimed.
"Air Slash!" Sora ordered. Farfetch'd swung his leek and a blade of air at Arbok, landing some heavy damage. Rex growled in anger. Arbok lands on the ground, beaten.
"Arbok is unable to battle! Farfetch'd wins!" The referee announced.
"Sora takes the lead once again! Rex has two Pokémon left to use! Which one will he send out next?" The announcer asked. Rex calls Arbok back and took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Move right in, Charmeleon!" Rex called out. Charmeleon came right out to battle.
"Rex's second Pokémon is a Charmeleon! Will Sora stick with Farfetch'd or will he make a switch?" The announcer asked. Sora called Farfetch'd and looked at Pikachu.
"Okay, Pikachu, you're up," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu said, nodding. He steps in the battlefield.
"And Sora has sent out Pikachu to battle against Charmeleon!" The announcer announced.
"Charmeleon! Use Dragon Claw!" Rex ordered. Charmeleon came at Pikachu with Dragon Claw.
"Dodge!" Sora called out. Pikachu dodges Charmeleon's claws.
"Charmeleon is trying to land a hit with Dragon Claw, but it's being overwhelmed by Pikachu's incredible speed!" The announcer announced. Rex was getting angered by Pikachu's speed.
"Get that yellow rat! Use Flamethrower!" Rex ordered. Charmeleon stopped using Flamethrower and spews Flamethrower at Pikachu, landing a hit.
"Charmeleon delivers a red hot Flamethrower! I felt that burn from way up here!" The announcer announced.
"Use Fire Fang!" Rex ordered. Charmeleon comes at Pikachu with Fire Fang.
"Iron Tail!" Sora ordered. Pikachu swings his tail at Charmeleon, blocking Charmeleon's Fire Fang.
"A close call for Pikachu with that Iron Tail!" The announcer announced.
"Oh yeah? We'll see about that! Charmeleon! Use Dragon Claw!" Rex ordered. Charmeleon came at Pikachu with Dragon Claw again.
"Dodge it!" Sora called out. Pikachu moves around, getting out of the way of Charmeleon's Dragon Claw. Rex was gritting his teeth in anger.
"Why you-!" Rex growled.
"Use Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu unleashed Thunderbolt, shocking Charmeleon on the mark. Charmeleon fell on its back, beaten.
"Charmeleon is unable to battle! Pikachu wins!" The referee announced.
"And Sora remains in the lead! Raptor is down to one more Pokémon left to use, so will he make a comeback!" The announcer announced.
Rex growled as he took out an Ultra Ball and firmly held it in his hand.
"Time to bring out my big gun! Aerodactyl! Go!" Rex shouted, sending out an Aerodactyl. This Aerodactyl is purple and has blue membranes at the wings. Stars swirls around Aerodactyl upon entry. Everyone were awestruck by what they were seeing
"Rex's third and final Pokémon is an Aerodactyl! And it is a Shiny Aerodactyl to be exact!" The announcer announced. Rex chuckled.
"I was hoping I get to use my Aerodactyl in the Pokémon League. There wasn't any Trainer that couldn't take down my Aerodactyl, and you should feel honored to be one of its victims," Rex said.
"Don't pat yourself on the back, Rex! The battle's not over yet! Pikachu! Use Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu unleashed Thunderbolt right at the Fossil Pokémon. Rex just grinned.
"I was hoping you'd try that. Dodge it!" Rex called out. Aerodactyl! Use Hyper Beam!" Aerodactyl opened its mouth and fired Hyper Beam from its mouth.
"Aerodactyl has fired a devastating Hyper Beam! Will it be enough to wipe out Pikachu and make the comeback Rex needs?" The announcer asked.
"Dodge it!" Sora ordered. Pikachu ran and the beam misses completely. That was too close for comfort for Pikachu.
"That was a close call for Pikachu! That Hyper Beam would have done some major damage if that has struck!" The announcer announced.
"Better make this count! Pikachu! Use Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu unleashed Thunderbolt, hitting Aerodactyl and dealing a super-effective hit, due to Aerodactyl's weakness to Electric-type attacks.
"Sora has taken advantage of Aerodactyl being unable to launch another attack due to after using Hyper Beam!" The announcer announced.
"Use Iron Tail!" Sora ordered. Pikachu struck Aerodactyl hard in the face. Due to Aerodactyl being a Rock-type Pokémon, it deals a super-effective hit.
"Ooh, a heavy hit with Iron Tail!" The announcer announced. Rex growled
"Not taking this laying down! Use Earthquake!" Rex ordered. Aerodactyl stomped on the ground, making the whole stadium shake. "Use Hyper Beam!" Aerodactyl unleashed Hyper Beam right at Pikachu, dealing some heavy damage. Pikachu has been taken down.
"Pikachu is unable to battle! Aerodactyl wins!" The referee announced.
"Rex takes his first step at a comeback! Sora has two more Pokémon left to use while Raptor has his Aerodactyl!" The announcer announced. Pikachu came back to Sora's side.
"Good effort, Pikachu. Get some rest," Sora said. He took out a Pokéball and threw it. "You're up, Hitmonchan!" His Pokéball opened up and Hitmonchan came out, punching the air.
"Sora's third Pokémon is the punching fiend, Hitmonchan! But Sora might have made a mistake since Fighting-type Pokémon are at a disadvantage against Flying-type Pokémon like Aerodactyl, or he might have an ace up his sleeve!" The announcer announced.
"Hitmonchan! Use Ice Punch!" Sora ordered. Hitmonchan came at Aerodactyl with Ice Punch. The icy punch lands a hit onto Aerodactyl, but it blocked using its wings. It leaves behind a small bit of ice on Aerodactyl's wing. Rex didn't notice it, and he grinned.
"Aerodactyl, use Sky Drop!" Rex ordered. Aerodactyl took Hitmonchan by the legs and flew right up in the air.
"Aerodactyl is taking Hitmonchan for a ride straight up in the air!" The announcer announced.
"Hitmonchan!" Sora exclaimed.
"Drop that Hitmonchan like a sack of potatoes!" Rex ordered. Aerodactyl then drops Hitmonchan. He fell straight down to the ground. He has taken some heavy damage from the fall.
"What a devastating blow! Aerodactyl has dropped Hitmonchan with Sky Drop! It looks like it's all over!" The announcer announced. Hitmonchan gets back up on his feet, but he fell back on his back, beaten.
"Hitmonchan is unable to battle! Aerodactyl wins!" The referee announced.
"Both Trainers are down to one Pokémon left to use! It may look like Rex will be walking away a winner!" The announcer announced. Rex chuckled.
"I don't know how Weevil could have lost to this runt, but this is so much easier than I thought," Rex said. Sora called back Hitmonchan.
"Get some rest, Hitmonchan. You earned it," Sora said. He took out Farfetch'd's Pokéball and sighed. "You're my only hope, Farfetch'd. Okay, he we go! Back to action! Farfetch'd!" He threw it, and Farfetch'd came back out to battle.
"And Sora brings Farfetch'd back out!" The announcer announced.
"Let's make this quick! Use Hyper Beam!" Rex ordered. Aerodactyl fired Hyper Beam at Farfetch'd.
"Aerodactyl fires Hyper Beam! Rex really wants to end this now!" The announcer announced.
"Farfetch'd!" Sora called out. Farfetch'd places his leek in his mouth, and flew fast in the air. Rex was stunned to see Farfetch'd has dodged just by flying fast. He takes his leek out and holds it with one of his feet.
"What a miraculous escape! Farfetch'd just flew to avoid Hyper Beam! Rex doesn't get that quick ending like he wanted!" The announcer announced. Rex growled in anger.
"Why you little-!" Rex growled. "Get that Farfetch'd!" Aerodactyl flew at Farfetch'd, but the Wild Duck Pokémon was flying too fast for it. Aerodactyl was flying too slow.
"This escalated into a sky battle, but for some reason, Aerodactyl doesn't seem to be moving very fast!" The announcer announced.
"What is he talking abou-" Rex gasped when he saw the block of ice on Aerodactyl's wing. "CRAP! IT'S NO WONDER! AERODACTYL'S GOT FROSTBITE! HOW DID THAT HAP-" He quickly realized it was from Hitmonchan's Ice Punch. "Oh no."
"Farfetch'd! Use Night Slash!" Sora ordered. Farfetch'd came at Aerodactyl with a Night Slash. Aerodactyl is struck by his leek.
"A brutal hit from Farfetch'd's Night Slash! It looks like it'll be Sora who will be moving on!" The announcer announced.
"Air Slash!" Sora ordered. Farfetch'd gave one swing of his leek and a blade of air strikes Aerodactyl hard and he goes down, hard. Aerodactyl strikes the ground with a mighty blow, almost making the ground shake.
"Aerodactyl is hit hard by that Air Slash! Could it be all over for Rex?" The announcer asked. Aerodactyl tried to get back up, but fell back down, beaten.
"Aerodactyl is unable to battle! Farfetch'd wins! The winner of the battle is Sora!" The announcer announced.
"And Sora has earned his place to partake in the finals! Rex Raptor has been defeated!" The announcer announced. Rex calls his Aerodactyl back and he grits his teeth in anger.
"I don't believe this! First he mops the floor with Weevil, and now I get beaten by this runt?!" Rex exclaimed, angrily.
Ash, Leaf, and Gary weren't surprised one bit to see Sora has made it far, so now the four of them will have to work extra hard to make it to the top. We shall see if their hard work and sacrifice have paid off.
