Episode 75: Indigo Plateau Finals
Where we left off, it started when Sora was getting ready for his fifth round in the Pokémon League, which were nearly disrupted when Team Rocket attempted to steal everyone's Pokémon in the guise of inspections, but Sora saw through their ploy by recognizing their voices and their usual stupidity. They would have been arrested if they hadn't escaped. But it all went as planned when Sora got to meet his next opponent, Rex Raptor. In Porta Vista, his aunt has given birth to a beautiful baby girl. As for Sora, he battled Rex Raptor, taking down his Arbok and Charmeleon, saving his Shiny Aerodactyl for last. His Aerodactyl has taken down Pikachu and Hitmonchan, but not without leaving a mark. Due to the small piece of ice left behind by Hitmonchan's Ice Punch, Aerodactyl didn't fly too fast when it was defeated by Sora's Farfetch'd, earning his place in the finals. Sora was counted among the finalists in the Pokémon League, counting Ash, Leaf, and Gary.
Sora has exchanged Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise, Tauros, and Farfetch'd for Victreebel, Electivire, Magmortar, Cloyster, and Dragonite.
Sora is up against a girl who is a little bit older than he was and she wore a green shirt and dark blue jeans. She had maroon hair and violet eyes. Sora has decided to use Pikachu, Electivire, Magmortar, Cloyster, Victreebel, and Dragonite for this battle.
"Ladies and gentlemen! The semifinals is about to begin! First up is Sora from Pallet Town and Sally from Celadon City!" The announcer announced. "Both trainers will be using all six Pokémon! And the battle will be over when all six Pokémon are unable to battle! Whom shall be moving on to the finals? Well, let's watch and find out!"
"Trainers! Choose your Pokémon and begin!" The referee instructed.
"My first Pokémon is gonna be, Persian!" Sally said taking out her Pokéball and throwing it. The Pokéball opens and lets out her Persian.
"You're up first, Victreebel!" Sora called out. Victreebel emerged from inside and ready to go.
"Persian! Pay Day!" Sally ordered. Persian's head jewel glows and fires golden orbs of light straight at the Fly Catcher Pokémon.
"Persian performing Pay Day! It looks like she'll be in the money!" The announcer announced. "How can Sora block that out?"
"Victreebel! Block with Razor Leaf!" Sora ordered. Victreebel fires Razor Leaf at the Classy Cat Pokémon, making coins fly. "Now use Leaf Blade!" Victreebel extends his leaves and they gave a green glow. Victreebel heads towards Persian.
"Now Victreebel is moving in to deliver a Leaf Blade at Persian! That will hurt!" The announcer announced.
"Dodge and use Shadow Ball!" Sally ordered. Persian throws Shadow Ball right at Victreebel. Victreebel gets hit by Persian's Shadow Ball. "That was great, Persian! Now use Shadow Ball again!" Persian obeyed by firing Shadow Ball once again.
"Victreebel! Leaf Blade!" Sora ordered. Victreebel slashes through Shadow Ball like a melon. "Razor Leaf!" Victreebel fired Razor Leaf and Persian got hit. "Now use Vine Whip!" Victreebel smacked Persian with his vine. Sally got frustrated watching her Persian take such a beating.
"Victreebel is doing a real number on Sally's Persian!" The announcer announced. "Sally really needs to do something, fast!"
Sally growled, "No way he's that good! No way!"
"Leaf Blade!" Sora called out. Victreebel jumps towards Persian.
"Persian! Dodge it and use Slash!" Sally ordered. Persian leapt towards Victreebel to perform a slash.
"Victreebel! Stop that Persian!" Sora called out. Victreebel grabs Persian with his vine. Persian tries to fight against Victreebel's grip.
"Victreebel definitely has gotten its paws on Persian and it doesn't look like Persian likes it at all!" The announcer announced.
"Throw Persian and Vine Whip!" Sora ordered. Victreebel gave Persian a hurl and gave him a smack with his vine. Persian falls to the ground beaten.
"Persian is unable to battle! Victreebel wins!" The referee announced.
"And Sora takes an early lead! His Victreebel is a force to be reckoned with!" The announcer announced while Sally is calling back Persian. "Now Sally will have to choose her next Pokémon."
"Okay, Tentacruel! Go!" Sally said throwing her Pokéball. Her Pokéball opens as Tentacruel enters the battle.
"And Sally has sent out Tentacruel, both are using Poison-type Pokémon!" The announcer announced. Sora calls back Victreebel and looked over to Pikachu.
"You're up, buddy!" Sora said.
"Pika, Pika!" Pikachu nodded and moved in.
"Sora is sending in his Pikachu! Sora has turned the tables on Sally since Pikachu has a shocking edge over Tentacruel!" The announcer announced.
"Pikachu! Electro Ball!" Sora ordered.
"Pika!" Pikachu formed a ball of electricity and hurls it towards Tentacruel.
"Ice Beam!" Sally ordered. Tentacruel fires Ice Beam right at Pikachu's Electro Ball causing an explosion.
"Talk about a clash of power! These two are giving everything they have!" The announcer announced. "Neither one of them is backing down!"
"Tentacruel! Use Poison Sting!" Sally ordered. Tentacruel fired Poison Sting towards Pikachu.
"Pikachu! Dodge with Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Pikachu ran across the battlefield as Poison Sting missed its mark. Tentacruel kept firing and firing.
"Tentacruel is firing Poison Sting like a machine gun and Pikachu avoids the Poison Type attack!" The announcer announced. Sally growled in frustration.
"Use Hydro Pump!" Tentacruel fired Hydro Pump hoping to hit Pikachu. The mouse Pokémon evades the move from left to right, but he accidentally slips and Hydro Pump makes a decent hit. Kairi gasps at the sight of Pikachu getting hit.
"Pikachu!" Sora gasped.
"I've got you now! Ice Beam! Full power!" Sally ordered. Tentacruel fired a powerful Ice Beam and it freezes Pikachu solid.
"It looks like Sally is making a comeback! Pikachu is frozen solid! Now Pikachu is not only a popsicle, but also an easy target!" The announcer announced.
"Hydro Pump again!" Sally ordered. Tentacruel fired Hydro Pump hitting Pikachu inside the ice block and sent towards the wall shattering the ice. Pikachu is knocked out from the attack.
"Pikachu is unable to battle! Tentacruel wins!" The referee announced.
Kairi takes Pikachu in her arms, placing Togepi down. She wraps Pikachu in a warm blanket.
"Does that feel better, Pikachu?" Kairi asked kindly.
"Pikachu," Pikachu beamed.
"Now both Trainers have five Pokémon left to use! It looks like Sora needs to come up with a strategy fast before he ends up being washed away!" The announcer announced.
"Can't use Dragonite against that Tentacruel because of Ice Beam," Sora said in his thoughts. "But I think I know which one she's gonna have a hard time with." Sora made up his mind and pulled out a Pokéball. "Let's go, Electivire!"
Electivire has come right out to battle. Tai, Kari, and their family and friends all beamed when they saw Elekid as a fully evolved Pokémon.
"Elekid, Ketchum did a great job raising you. Let's see how you do in the battle," Tai said in his thoughts.
"Sora has sent out his Electivire! Wonder what does Sora have in store for Sally's Tentacruel!" The announcer announced.
"I'll be sticking with Tentacruel!" Sally stated. "Tentacruel! Ice Beam!" Tentacruel fires Ice Beam.
"Dodge it Electivire!" Sora called out. Electivire dodges by stepping to the side.
"Electivire dodges Tentacruel's Ice Beam!" The announcer announced as Tentacruel looks around.
"Use Thunder Punch!" Sora ordered. Electivire gave an electrified punch on Tentacruel. "Use Seismic Toss!" Electivire grabbed Tentacruel and gave it a toss to the ground.
"Electivire starts up with Thunder Punch , followed with a Seismic Toss!" The announcer announced. Sally is gritting her teeth. "And I don't think Sally is going to take this laying down!"
"Now use Charge Beam!" Sora called out. Electivire opened his mouth and fired a yellow beam of electricity. Tentacruel has been hit by the electric attack, resulting in a knockout.
"Tentacruel is unable to battle! Electivire wins!" The referee announced.
"And Sally's brief comeback seems to have been derailed; for now at least!" The announcer announced.
"Electivire has gotten much stronger than before," TK said.
"Sure has, TK. He did an awesome job training him," Matt said.
"And now Sally gets ready to send out her third Pokémon!" The announcer announced. "Which will it be?"
"Alright, Gengar! Go!" Sally sends out her Gengar.
"Gengar!" Gengar said, making an entry.
"Sally has chosen her Gengar as her third Pokémon!" The announcer announced.
"Okay Electivire! Use Thunder!" Sora ordered. The Thunderbolt Pokémon fired Thunder right at Gengar.
"Gengar! Dark Pulse!" Sally ordered. Gengar fired Dark Pulse and it holds against Electivire's Thunder.An explosion occurs between the two of them, giving them heavy damage.
"Electivire and Gengar have taken heavy damage from Thunder and Dark Pulse collision!" The announcer announced.
"Gengar! Use Shadow Claw!" Sally ordered. Gengar came at Electivire with a shadowy claw.
"Dodge and use Thunder Punch!" Sora ordered. Electivire an electrified punch. "Use Charge Beam!" Electivire fired Charge Beam right at the Shadow Pokémon. Gengar has been taken down.
"Gengar is unable to battle! Electivire wins!" The referee announced.
"Sally's comeback has been cut short by Electivire's Charge Beam! Sally is down to three Pokémon remaining while Sora has five!" The announcer announced.
"Okay, let's try this one," Sally said, taking out a Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Wigglytuff!" Her Pokéball opened and Wigglytuff came out to battle.
"Sally has sent out Wigglytuff against Sora's Electivire! Now the question is will Sora be sticking with Electivire or will he make a switch?" The announcer asked. Sora called back Electivire. He took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Okay, Victreebel! Back to action!" Sora called out Victreebel emerged from inside the Pokéball and waited for instructions from Sora.
"Sora has sent Victreebel back out to battle! Sora has the type advantage in this bout once again!" The announcer announced.
"Victreebel! Use Razor Leaf!" Sora ordered. Victreebel unleashed Razor Leaf right at the Balloon Pokémon. Wigglytuff has taken some heavy damage from Victreebel's Razor Leaf.
"Your Victreebel isn't going to have an edge on me now! Wigglytuff! Drain Punch!" Sally ordered. Wigglytuff jumps and lands a punch on the Fly Catcher Pokémon and replenishes a bit of its health.
"It seems Sally isn't afraid to go all out with Victreebel now! That Drain Punch has given some of Wigglytuff's health back," The announcer announced.
"Victreebel! Leaf Blade!" Sora ordered. Victreebel came at Wigglytuff with a Leaf Blade, landing a hit on the Balloon Pokémon. The attack successfully hits its mark. "Now use Vine Whip!" Victreebel gives it a smack down on Wigglytuff and lands a devastating blow on it. Sally gasped as her Wigglytuff lands on the ground beaten.
"Wigglytuff is unable to battle! Victreebel wins!" The referee announced.
"And now Sally only has two Pokémon left to use! She needs to come up with something fast or it'll all be over for her!" The announcer announced.
Sally calls back her Wigglytuff and threw an Ultra Ball.
"Go for it, Jynx!" She threw her Ultra Ball and it lets out her Jynx.
"So now she will be using a Jynx! A smart move since Sally has the advantage on Type this time!" The announcer announced. Sora calls his Victreebel back and he took out his next Pokéball and threw it. "And now Sora is switching Pokémon! Which one will he go with now?"
"Go! Magmortar!" Sora called out. Magmortar came out to battle next.
"And Sora has gained the type advantage against Sally's Jynx! But will type be enough in this battle?" The announcer asked.
"Magmortar! Use Fire Punch!" Sora ordered. Magmortar came at Jynx with a Fire Punch.
"Jynx! Jump and use Body Slam!" Sally ordered. Jynx jumps in the air and lands on top of Magmortar.
"Sally is definitely fighting back now! Jynx has used Body Slam to cancel out Magmortar's Fire Punch!" The announcer announced.
"Magmortar! Flamethrower!" Sora ordered. Magmortar fired Flamethrower from his hands, hitting the humanoid Pokémon.
"Magmortar has managed to send Jynx off with Flamethrower!" The announcer announced. "What will Sally have Jynx do now!"
"Jynx! Hyper Beam!" Sally ordered. Jynx fired Hyper Beam and towards Magmortar.
"Magmortar! Hyper Beam! Full Power!" Sora called out. Magmortar fired his own Hyper Beam and it collides with Jynx's Hyper Beam. Both beams tries to push each other back, but not one was backing away.
"Unbelievable! Two Hyper Beams are going neck to neck now! This round can go either way!" The announcer announced. The two attacks holds until an explosion occurs and creates a smoke. "Sora and Sally are anxiously waiting to see which one of their Pokémon is still standing! " Once the smoke has cleared, both Jynx and Magmortar are both seen knocked out.
"Magmortar and Jynx are both unable to battle! This round is a draw!" The referee announced.
"This is an upset for both trainers since they lost two of their Pokémon!" The announcer announced. "But Sora is still leading since he still has four and Sally has one left! She needs to come up with something fast or it'll all be over for her!" Sally took out her Pokéball and threw it.
"Oh I already know what to do," Sally said as she calls back her Jynx. "I was saving the best for last!" Sally pulls out her last Pokéball and threw it. "Go for it, Lapras!" She threw her Pokéball letting out her Lapras, but this Lapras was lavender with its shell being brown. Stars swirls around the Lapras upon entry.
"Sally has been saving her Lapras for last!" The announcer announced. Many of the spectators were in awe at the sight of the Shiny Pokémon in front of them. "And judging how that Lapras looks, Sora will have a hard time with this one!" Sora calls back his Magmortar and he took out Electivire's Pokéball and threw it.
"Electivire! Back to action!" Sora called out. Electivire returned the battle.
"Sora sends Electivire back out to battle against Sally's final Pokémon!" The announcer announced.
"Electivire! Use Charge Beam!" Sora ordered. Electivire fired Charge Beam at Lapras, hoping it'll land a hit.
"Lapras! Blizzard!" Sally ordered as Lapras fired Blizzard and it cancels out Electivire's Charge Beam and hits the Thunderbolt Pokémon freezing him. Sora gasped when he saw that happen.
"Incredible! Lapras's Blizzard has canceled out Electivire's Charge Beam and fought back with Blizzard, resulting in Electivire being frozen solid!" The announcer announced.
"Use Ice Beam!" Sally ordered. Lapras fired Ice Beam, hitting Electivire. The ice shatters, and Electivire fell on his back, beaten.
"Electivire is unable to battle! Lapras wins!" The referee announced.
"And Sally has taken down three of Sora's Pokémon! How will Sora put a damper on her comeback?" The referee asked. Sora took out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Cloyster!" Sora called out. Cloyster came out, ready to battle.
"And Sora's fifth Pokémon is Cloyster, also a Water and Ice-type! This looks like this will be an evenly matched battle!" The announcer announced.
"Not even close," Sally scoffed.
"Cloyster! Use Icicle Spear!" Sora ordered. Cloyster fired several icicles at Lapras.
"Sheer Cold!" Sally ordered. Lapras's body glows light blue and releases a wave of light blue energy, freezing Cloyster. Sora and Kairi gasped at the sight.
"Cloyster is unable to battle! Lapras wins!" The referee announced.
"Lapras takes Cloyster down with one hit! That means, Sora has two left to use, so which one is next?" The announcer asked. Sora called back Cloyster and he sighed.
"Okay, Victreebel! Back to action!" Sora called out. Victreebel came out to battle against Lapras.
"And it's Victreebel back out to battle Lapras! This should be interesting to see!" The announcer announced.
"This will be easy! Use Ice Beam!" Sally ordered. Lapras fired Ice Beam at the Fly Catcher Pokémon.
"Dodge and use Razor Leaf!" Sora ordered. Victreebel dodges Lapras's Ice Beam and fires Razor Leaf at Lapras, landing a heavy hit. "Move in with Leaf Blade!" Victreebel came rushing at Lapras with Leaf Blade.
"Victreebel lands a solid hit with Razor Leaf, and now it's moving in with Leaf Blade! How will Sally react to this?!" The announcer exclaimed.
"It's not over until the fat lady sings! Lapras! Use Blizzard!" Sally ordered. Lapras unleashed Blizzard, landing a heavy hit. The Fly Catcher lands on his back, beaten.
"Victreebel is unable to battle! Lapras wins!" The referee announced.
"Sora is down to one Pokémon left!" The announcer announced as Sora calls back Victreebel and pulls out his last Pokéball."Sally really did a number on Sora's Pokémon; and the same can be said for Sora! Which one will it be?"
"Okay, Dragonite! Go!" Sora said, throwing his Pokéball. The Pokéball opens and lets out his Dragonite.
"Everything is hanging in the balance with this final round in the battle! Dragonite is at a type disadvantage!"The announcer announced."How will Sora manage to win this match?"
"It is gonna be easy," Sally smirked. "Lapras! Ice Beam!" Lapras fires Ice Beam towards Dragonite.
"Dragonite! Dodge it!" Sora called out. Dragonite flies out of the way before the beam of ice could hit the dragon Pokémon.
"Keep firing!" Sally ordered. Lapras kept firing the Ice Beam, but the attack kept missing.
"Sora isn't taking any chances here! He has learned from losing Electivire, Cloyster, and Victreebel from Sally's Lapras!" The announcer announced. "But Sora needs to land an offense maneuver and fast!"
"Not a bad idea," Sora said. "Dragonite! Dragon Rush!" Dragonite flies towards Lapras and strikes the Shiny Pokémon. "Now use Dragon Pulse!" Dragonite forms a purple orb and sends it out as it takes a serpentine form. Lapras gets hit by the attack.
"Lapras! Sheer Cold! Knock out that Dragonite!" Sally ordered.
"No you don't!" Sora said. "Dragonite! Dragon Rush! Quickly!" Dragonite flew fast and landed a pretty good hit before Lapras could use Sheer Cold.
"That was a close one for Sora's Dragonite! He had his Dragonite attack before she could eliminate his Dragonite!" The announcer announced. "But Sally isn't finished yet!"
"Lapras! Ice Beam again!" Lapras fired Ice Beam right at Dragonite again, and the results are the same. Sora had to end it now.
"Dragonite! Fly straight into the air!" Sora called out. Dragonite nodded and flew into the air.
"Dragonite is flying straight into the air! What could he planning to do?" The announcer asked.
"Dragon Rush!" Sora called out. Dragonite dives down to the ground like a meteor. Dragonite's power gets stronger with each speed passing.
"Dragonite is diving towards Lapras at incredible speed and power!" The announcer announced. "And Lapras has nowhere to run!"
"Lapras!" Sally gasped. Dragonite lands on Lapras and flies back in the air.
"A direct hit!" The announcer announced. Lapras gets back up with a loud yell, only to fall back to the side.
"Lapras is unable to battle! Dragonite wins! Sora Ketchum from Pallet Town wins the battle!" The referee announced.
"And Sora has won it! He is now moving on to the finals!" The announcer announced. The crowd starts roaring as Sora has taken another step into the Pokémon League.
Later on, Ash, Gary, and Leaf have won their matches in the finals, resulting in the Pallet Town four were counted among the eight finalists.
"And Leaf has triumphed over Cassie and concluded the semifinals!" The announcer announced. "Only eight trainers remain as we now move finals! Who will emerge victorious in the finals? Will it be, Joey from Vermilion City?" A photo on the screen displays shows a young man with messy blonde hair. "Miranda from Viridian City?" The screen displays a photo of a young woman with long black hair. "Leaf from Pallet Town?" The photo shows a young man dressed with a red shirt. "Ash also from Pallet Town?" The photo shows a young man with brown hair and freckles and glasses. "Michael from New Bark Town?" The photo shows a boy a little older than Sora and he had brown hair. "Louise from Cerulean City?" The photo shows a girl with long pink hair and blue eyes. "Gary also from Pallet Town?" Edgar's photo is now displayed. "Or will it be Sora from the fourth from Pallet Town?" Sora's photo is displayed. "The eight will now be selected within one hour to see whom shall battle whom and the finals shall begin tomorrow at noon!"
"You've made it, Sora," Riku said. "You're among the eight finalists."
Sora agreed, "Yeah. You're right." Sora's heart was beating faster and faster as he felt overwhelmed by how far he came since he began his journey. Sora and Kairi along with Pikachu, Angel, and Togepi needed time alone together so Sora could think of strategy for his next battle. Kairi looked to her boyfriend. She saw that he was sweating.
"You feeling okay, Sora?" Kairi asked. "You're not nervous are you?"
"Maybe a little," Sora answered. "Why?"
"You're sweating," Kairi pointed out. Sora wiped off some sweat with his right hand.
"So I am," Sora said. He knew why that was.
Sora looked around and he saw the seven other finalists all around him. He knew he was going to have the toughest battles he ever will have, so he couldn't afford to slip up.
Once the hour was up, the finalists all learned who will be battling who. Sora will be battling Joey and it's going to be the last battle. Ash will be battling Miranda and it's going to be first. Pablo will be battling Leaf. And Louise will be battling Gary.
Now that the finalists have been lined up, he had to make up his mind on which ones he will be using. He exchanged Victreebel, Snorlax, Hitmonchan, Cloyster, and Dragonite for Butterfree, Kingler, Pidgeot, Mr. Mime, and Sandslash.
The very next day, Ash had beaten Miranda and he had already lost two Pokémon. Leaf has beaten Pablo and Gary had taken out Louise. It was down to Sora and Joey. Sora has decided to use Pikachu, Mr. Mime, Sandslash, Kingler, Butterfree, and Hitmonlee for this battle.
"And the battle between Gary and Louise has concluded! Gary Oak will be moving on to the championships!" The announcer announced as Gary's cheerleaders cheered for him. "Now it's what we have been waiting for! It's Joey from Vermilion City versus Sora from Pallet Town! Only one of these two will be moving on! So these two will have to give it everything they have!"
Sora had entered the stadium along with Kairi, Angel, and Togepi. Kairi held Togepi in her arms tightly. Joey entered the stadium as well.
"Trainers! Choose your Pokémon and come out battling! Begin!" The referee instructed. Joey has chosen his first Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Marowak!" Joey shouted. The Pokéball opens and lets out his Marowak! The bone keeper Pokémon twirls its bone upon entry. Sora knew which one to use.
"Go for it, Kingler!" Sora said, letting out his Kingler. The crab Pokémon clamps his pincers upon entry.
"Joey is starting things up with Marowak and Sora will be starting with Kingler!" The announcer announced. "And Sora has the advantage in type! Will Marowak overwhelm Kingler or will Kingler give Marowak such a pinch?"
"Marowak! Start up with Bone Rush!" Joey ordered. Marowak's bone glows light blue and grows longer. Marowak runs towards Kingler to land a hit.
"Kingler! Metal Claw!" Sora ordered. Kingler's pincers glows metallic and used his large pincer blocks the bone and hits Marowak with his smaller pincer. "Now use Crabhammer!" Kingler swings his large pincer and lands a powerful hit on Marowak.
"Kingler lands a devastating blow on Marowak with a mean Crabhammer!" The announcer announced. Marowak stands back up. "But it doesn't look like Joey's Marowak is gonna give up that easily!"
"Marowak! Iron Head!" Joey ordered. Marowak charges towards Kingler with its head metallic and charges towards Kingler.
"Bubble Beam!" Sora ordered. Kingler fires Bubble Beam and Marowak gets hit by the barrage of bubbles.
"Uh-oh! It doesn't look good for Marowak! This Ground-type has its foot in the mud with that move!" The announcer announced.
"Now finish it with Crabhammer!" Sora ordered. Kingler swings at Marowak with another Crabhammer attack. The force of Kingler's giant pincer sends Marowak straight down and knocked out.
"Marowak is unable to battle! Kingler wins!" The referee announced.
"And that's one down and five to go!" The announcer announced. "Joey needs to get his act together if he wanna win this!" Joey calls back Marowak and pulls out another Pokéball.
"Okay, Electabuzz! Go!" Joey threw it letting out his Electabuzz. Electabuzz lets out a cry upon entry.
"Joey has sent out his Electabuzz! Joey has the advantage in Type now since Water-type Pokémon are weaked against Electric-type attacks!" The announcer announced as Sora smirked. Sora calls Kingler back. "Wait a minute! Sora is switching Pokémon! Which one will he be sending out?" Joey growls in frustration.
"Go! Sandslash!" Sora said, throwing his Pokéball. The Pokéball opens and lets out his Sandslash.
"Sora will be sending out his Sandslash!" The announcer announced. "Sora had regained the advantage! This kid really did his homework!"
"That wasn't supposed to happen," Joey said in disbelief. "Aw, who cares, anyway! Not gonna stop me! Electabuzz! Thunder Punch!" Electabuzz's fist emits electricity and threw a punch at Sandslash. Sora just shook his head.
"Joey has his Electabuzz use a Thunder Punch and it doesn't effect his Sandslash!" The announcer announced. "That's a mistake that's gonna cost him!"
"Dude! You should know Electric-type attacks don't work on Ground-type Pokémon, right?" Sora asked his opponent.
"Uh..." Joey uttered realizing the mistake he made.
"Anyone would have told you that," Sora said. "Sandslash! Crush Claw!" Sandslash swung at Electabuzz with his claws at full force. "Now Dig!" Sandslash dug underground.
"Electabuzz is really on edge now! Sandslash will be popping out at any moment! What will Sandslash do?" The announcer asked. Sandslash jumps out of the ground and hits the electric Pokémon in the gut and sent flying in the air. Electabuzz is knocked out.
"Electabuzz is unable to battle! Sandslash wins!" The referee announced.
"And that's two Sora has knocked out!" The announcer announced. Joey was really getting pissed off. Kairi was really happy for her boyfriend for this one. "This is really a good day for this kid!"
"Not for long! Go! Hitmonchan!" Joey shouted throwing his Pokéball letting out his Hitmonchan.
"And Joey's third Pokémon is his Hitmonchan! Will this punching Pokémon make up for his mistakes?" The announcer asked. Sora calls back Sandslash and took out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Mr. Mime!" Sora called out. Mr. Mime emerged from inside.
"Mr. Mime!" Mr. Mime said, emerging from his Pokéball.
"And Sora has sent out Mr. Mime, a Psychic and Fairy-type Pokémon! Joey is making a series of mistakes today!" The announcer announced.
"Hitmonchan! Mach Punch!" Joey ordered. Hitmonchan ran fast and delivered a lightning fast punch right at Mr. Mime.
"Use Reflect!" Sora ordered. Mr. Mime hurriedly made an invisible barrier, so Hitmonchan's Mach Punch bounces off.
"Mr. Mime has created an invisible barrier to protect itself from Hitmonchan's physical attacks!" The announcer announced.
"Hitmonchan! Use Mega Punch!" Joey ordered. Hitmonchan came at Mr. Mime with a powerful punch ready to go.
"Mr. Mime! Use Mega Punch as well!" Sora ordered. Mr. Mime came at Hitmonchan, landing his punch before Hitmonchan could land a hit.
"Mr. Mime looks like it's too fast for Hitmonchan to hit!" The announcer announced.
"Okay, Mr. Mime! Use Psychic!" Sora ordered. Mr. Mime uses Psychic and lifts up Hitmonchan in the air and slams him down on the ground. Hitmonchan has taken heavy damage, and was knocked out.
"Hitmonchan is unable to battle! Mr. Mime wins!" The announcer announced.
"And that makes three Joey has lost to Sora! Joey will have to get his head in the game if he wants to make it to the final round!" The announcer announced.
"Okay, okay, think, Joey, think. Mr. Mime is a Psychic and Fairy-type Pokémon, so what weakness would that be?" Joey thought to himself. He thought for a moment until he got it. "Right! Bug and Steel! And I have just the one!" Joey said, taking his next Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Scizor!" Joey called out. Scizor came out to battle.
"And Joey has sent out a Scizor to combat against Sora's Mr. Mime, or will he be changing Pokémon?" The announcer asked. Sora switches Pokémon, much to Joey's annoyance. Sora looked at Pikachu.
"Your turn, Pikachu," Sora said. Pikachu stepped in, ready to go.
"Sora's fourth Pokémon is Pikachu!" The announcer announced.
"Scizor! Use Metal Claw!" Joey ordered. Scizor flew at Pikachu with Metal Claw ready to strike.
"Dodge and use Electro Ball!" Sora ordered. Pikachu dodges Scizor's Electro Ball and lands a hit. "Use Thunderbolt!" Pikachu unleashed Thunderbolt, shocking Scizor on the mark.
"Pikachu lands an electrical hit with Thunderbolt!" The announcer announced.
"Scizor! Use X-Scissor!" Joey ordered. Scizor's claws glow light green. It then slashes at the Mouse Pokémon with its claws in an 'X' formation, leaving behind a trail of light green energy from each of its claws.
"Scizor makes a comeback with an X-Scissor!" The announcer announced.
"Use X-Scissor again!" Joey ordered. Scizor's claws glow light green again.
"Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu unleashed Thunderbolt again, sending Scizor lands on the ground, beaten.
"Scizor is unable to battle! Pikachu wins!" The announcer announced.
"And that's four that Joey have lost!" The announcer announced. Joey grits his teeth in frustration.
"Okay, here's my next one! Go! Dragonite!" Joey called out.
"And Joey's fifth Pokémon is Dragonite!" The announcer announced.
"Pikachu, you take five for now!" Sora called out. Pikachu returned to Sora's side and he took out Mr. Mime's Pokéball and threw it. "Mr. Mime! Back to action!" His Pokéball opened up and Mr. Mime came back out to battle against the Dragon Pokémon.
"Sora sends Mr. Mime back out to battle since Mr. Mime is a Fairy-type Pokémon!" The announcer announced.
"Dragonite! Use Hyper Beam!" Joey ordered.
"Use Light Screen!" Sora ordered. Dragonite fired Hyper Beam as Mr. Mime creates a golden-yellow wall of energy, but it shatters, taking Mr. Mime in the blast. Mr. Mime has been taken down.
"Mr. Mime is unable to battle! Dragonite wins!" The announcer announced.
"Joey begins a comeback with Dragonite thanks to its Hyper Beam! It shatters Mr. Mime's Light Screen with a a shatter!" The announcer announced. Sora called back Mr. Mime and he took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Kingler! Back to action!" Sora called out. Kingler came back to battle.
"Sora sends Kingler back out to battle!" The announcer announced.
"Kingler! Use Razor Shell!" Sora ordered. Kingler came at Dragonite with Razor Shell, landing a hit. "Use Crabhammer!" Kingler smacked Dragonite with his huge claw.
"Kingler is really giving it to Dragonite! How much abuse can Dragonite take?" The announcer asked.
"Use Dragon Claw!" Joey ordered. Dragonite slashes at Kingler with Dragon Claw.
"Dragon delivers a Dragon Claw onto Kingler!" The announcer announced.
"Use Thunder!" Joey ordered. Dragonite unleashed Thunder, shocking Kingler.
"And Dragonite gives Kingler a hit with a devastating Thunder!" The announcer announced. Kingler has been taken down.
"Kingler is unable to battle! Dragonite wins!" The referee announced.
"And that's two Sora has lost to Joey's Dragonite! I wonder if he will keep up his comeback until the match is over!" The announcer announced. Sora called back Kingler and he took out Sandslash's Pokéball and threw it.
"Sandslash! Back to action!" Sora called out. Sandslash came back out to battle against Dragonite.
"And Sandslash came back out to battle!" The announcer announced.
"Use Crush Claw!" Sora ordered. Sandslash came right Dragonite with Crush Claw and lands a hit. "Now use Slash!" Sandslash gave Dragonite a slash across the chest.
"Sandslash is making good use of its claws with Crush Claw and Slash!" The announcer announced.
"Use Hyper Beam!" Joey ordered. Dragonite fired Hyper Beam hitting Sandslash on the mark, earning a knockout.
"Sandslash is unable to battle! Dragonite wins!" The referee announced.
"And Sandslash makes three Sora has lost to Joey's Dragonite!" The announcer announced.
"Man, I knew this was going to be hard. Mr. Mime was the only Pokémon that has an edge over Dragon-types, but he's out of commission! I need to think of something to put it down! Think, think, think," Sora said in his thoughts. He got an idea. "How about I try Pidgeot for his speed! Hope it works!" Sora took out his next Pokéball and threw it. "Your turn now, Pidgeot!" Pidgeot came out to battle next.
"Sora's fifth Pokémon is Pidgeot! Let's see how this bird Pokémon can match up against Dragonite!" The announcer announced.
"He's flipped his lid! He forgot about Dragonite's Thunder! Gonna make sure he regrets it. Dragonite! Use Thunder!" Dragonite unleashed Thunder right at Pidgeot.
"Dodge it!" Sora called out. Pidgeot dodges Dragonite's Thunder and flew upwards.
"Dragonite's Thunder misses completely!" The announcer announced.
"Okay, use Twister!" Sora ordered. Pidgeot flew at Dragonite and created a tornado by flying around. Dragonite is then struck by Pidgeot's Twister.
"Wow! Pidgeot makes a comeback with Twister, a Dragon-type move! A super-effective move against a Dragon-type Pokémon!" The announcer announced.
"Dragonite! Use Hyper Beam!" Joey ordered. Dragonite prepares to fire Hyper Beam.
"Aerial Ace!" Sora ordered. Pidgeot dashed at Dragonite, landing a hit before Dragonite could fire Hyper Beam.
"Dragonite didn't fire Hyper Beam in time! That puts a damper on Dragonite's chances!" The announcer announced.
"I ain't done yet! Dragonite! Use Thunder!" Joey ordered. Dragonite unleashed Thunder, shocking Pidgeot before he could dodge.
"Dragonite is fighting back by firing Thunder at its opponent!" The announcer announced.
"Use Hyper Beam!" Joey ordered. Dragonite fired Hyper Beam, hitting Pidgeot, resulting in a knockout.
"Pidgeot is unable to battle! Dragonite wins!" The referee announced.
"And Pidgeot is down and out! Despite putting up a great fight, Dragonite is still standing!" The announcer announced. Dragonite is panting heavily. Sora called back Pidgeot and he smirked.
"Good job, Pidgeot. You tired it out like I wanted you to," Sora said. "You earned a good rest for right now." He looked at Pikachu. "Back to action, Pikachu."
"Pika," Pikachu said, stepping back in.
"And Pikachu is back in to battle against Dragonite!" The announcer announced.
"Dragonite! Use Dragon Claw!" Joey ordered. Dragonite came Pikachu with Dragon Claw.
"Dragonite starts by coming at Pikachu with Dragon Claw!" The announcer announced.
"Pikachu! Dodge and use Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu fired Thunderbolt, hitting Dragonite on the mark.
"Pikachu fights back with a Thunderbolt!" The announcer announced.
"Hyper Beam!" The announcer announced.
"Thunderbolt! Full power!" Sora ordered.
Pikachu and Dragonite fired their attacks at each other, holding on. They held for a few seconds before an explosion occurs.
"Dragonite and Pikachu holds on with Thunderbolt and Hyper Beam, so which one will still be standing?!" The announcer exclaimed. The smoke cleared, seeing Pikachu and Dragonite down and beaten.
"Pikachu and Dragonite are both unable to battle! This round is a draw!" The referee announced.
"Now both Trainers are down to one Pokémon each! So it's going to be anybody's guess on whose victory it'll be!" The announcer announced. Sora picked up Pikachu and sets him down next to Angel, and she nuzzles him affectionately. Pikachu nuzzles her back.
"You did awesomely, Pikachu. You should rest up," Sora said.
"Pika, Pika," Pikachu said. Sora took out one more Pokéball and he threw it.
"Your turn, Butterfree!" Sora called out. Butterfree came right out to battle.
"Sora's final Pokémon is Butterfree! What will be Joey's last Pokémon?" The announcer asked.
"Okay, here's one! Go! Machoke!" Joey called out. His Pokéball opened and Machoke emerged from inside, ready to go. "Man, if I knew this was gonna happen, I would have saved Dragonite for last. Machoke, you're my only hope! Use Submission!" Machoke came at Butterfree, ready to go.
"Butterfree! Use Psychic!" Sora ordered. Butterfree uses Psychic to stop Machoke in his tracks. "Send Machoke flying!" Butterfree sends Machoke right at the wall behind it, making it a one hit knockout.
"Machoke is unable to battle! Butterfree wins! Sora is the winner of the battle!" The referee announced.
"And Sora makes four among the finalists! The Pallet Town 4 to be exact! We shall wer who will make it to the finals within 1 hour!" The announcer announced.
Sora, Ash, Leaf, and Gary have made it all the way to the finals, so only one of them is going to be walking away a winner, but they have to make it to the semi-finals first. So, we shall be in for an exciting final round!
