Episode 76: Indigo Plateau Semi-Final Round
Where last left off, Sora, along with Ash, Leaf, and Gary in the finals of the Indigo Plateau. Sora has hit a huge snag going up against two tough opponents and earning himself a well-earned victory for both, so now it's the four kids from Pallet Town that made it all the way to the finals, so only one of them is going home with the championship trophy. Which one will win it? Well, that's what we're here to find out.
Sora had a little trouble sleeping. Kairi came in and noticed he was still awake.
"Sora, why are you still awake?" Kairi asked.
"Just thinking about tomorrow," Sora answered.
Kairi walked over to Sora and sat on the bed he was on.
"You're not nervous again are you?" Kairi asked.
"Yeah I am," Sora admitted. She places her hand on his hand.
"Just do your best, Sora," Kairi said. "And you'll do fine."
Sora chuckled, "Where have I heard that before."
"And there's the Sora I know and love," Kairi said. She kissed him on the lips. "Better?"
"Always," Sora answered. "Thanks."
"Anytime," Kairi said. "Get some sleep and rest up."
"I will," Sora said. "Thanks again."
"Anytime," Kairi said.
Sora drifted off to sleep feeling better, no longer feeling nervous.
Sora has exchanged Mr. Mime, Sandslash, Kingler, and Hitmonlee, and Butterfree for Golem, Gengar, Alakazam, and Machamp.
Sora, Ash, Leaf, and Gary waited to see who will be up against.
Watching the battles, there is Lorelei and Agatha along with two men.
One of them is a tall and muscular man. He has long black hair, tied in a thick ponytail, which dangles down his back to his shoulder blades and longish thick sideburns. He has small dark eyes with prominent eyebrows, a small nose and a square jaw. He wore white trousers with a tattered waist and ankles that are held up by a black belt, shirtless and black wristbands on his wrists.
The other man is a tall, thin man with bright scarlet red spiked hair, pale skin, and dark eyes. He wore a medieval-looking navy blue tunic with red-orange trim, a brown belt around his waist, and large black boots with orange two rings around the top of each boot. The cuffs of his long sleeves are black with orange zigzagging trim separating the cuff from the navy blue part of the sleeve. He sports a long, flowing cape around his neck which is black on the outside and crimson red on the inside.
"The Pokémon League competition is drawing to a close," the caped man said.
"Indeed, Lance. Those four have proven themselves to have potential," Agatha said.
"All four of them has great strength, but which one of their strengths will be recognized?" The muscular man asked.
"A good question, Bruno. So which one will be making it to the top?" Lance asked.
"I could see Professor Oak's grandson has some potential, but his opponents will be the one who will bring him down if he is not careful," Agatha said.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we are down to four Trainers remaining, all from Pallet Town! Now to see who will be battling who before we reach the conclusion round!" The announcer announced. Sora, Ash, Leaf, and Gary's mugshots show up. The computer shuffles them up and they see Ash and Gary going at it first while Sora and Leaf are next. "And here they all are!"
"It all comes down to this, Sora," Leaf said.
"Yeah," Sora said.
"I was hoping it was going to be and Sora next, but I guess the first thing I gotta do is before I battle him is to battle you, Ash," Gary said.
"I'm more than ready to take you on, Gary," Ash said.
"I'm more than ready to take you on, and then Sora!" Gary said.
"I'm here, too, Gary," Leaf said.
"Leaf, just because we're friends, don't go easy on me," Sora said.
"I was going to say the same thing to you, Sora," Leaf said. They shook hands, promising each other a good battle.
It was Ash and Gary's battle up first. They get into position for their match. Gary's cheerleaders were cheering for Gary for his victory.
"The first battle of the championship round is about to begin! In the red corner, we have Gary Oak, the grandson of the leading authority of Pokémon research of Kanto, Professor Oak, and we have Ash in the green corner! Both Trainers are from Pallet Town, and both have climbed up to make it all the way to the top, so which one of these two young titans be earning a spot for the final round?" The announcer asked.
"Hey! I was looking forward to this moment for a long time, Ash! My rivals should be strong to keep me sharp! I looked all over for powerful Pokémon! Not only that, I assembled teams that would beat any Pokémon type! And now! Here we are, at the finals of the Pokémon League! Ash! Do you know what that means?" Gary asked.
"No, what?" Ash asked.
"I'll tell you! I am going to show everyone that I'm the most powerful trainer in the world!" Gary said.
"Let's the show on the road!" The announcer announced. Gary and Ash each took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Pidgeot!" Gary called out. Pidgeot flew right out to battle.
"Go! Jolteon!" Ash called out. Jolteon emerged from inside, ready to battle. "Jolteon! Use Thunderbolt!" Jolteon fired Thunderbolt right at the bird Pokémon.
"Dodge and use Wing Attack!" Gary ordered.
"Jolteon makes a shaky start with that Thunderbolt, but will it manage?" The announcer asked.
"Use Brave Bird!" Gary ordered. Pidgeot flies straight into the air and its body becomes surrounded in an orange bird-shaped aura. It then slams into Jolteon with full force.
"Gary fights back with a Brave Bird, and Jolteon has taken a lot of damage from it!" The announcer announced. Pidgeot has taken some recoil damage from the use of the move.
"Use Wing Attack!" Gary ordered. Pidgeot flew at Jolteon with its wings out, ready to strike the Lightning Pokémon.
"Dodge and use Thunder Fang!" Ash ordered. Jolteon dodged and came at Pidgeot. It lands an electrical bite onto the Bird Pokémon.
"Pidgeot has taken a lot of damage from Jolteon's Thunder Fang!" The announcer announced. Pidgeot has now become paralyzed from Jolteon's Thunder Fang.
"Use Twister!" Gary ordered. Pidgeot flapped its wings and creates a tornado.
"Pidgeot fights back with a Twister!" The announcer announced.
"Dodge and use Thunderbolt!" Ash ordered. Jolteon unleashed Thunderbolt, shocking Pidgeot, finishing it off.
"Pidgeot is unable to battle! Jolteon wins!" The referee announced.
"Ash takes the lead against Gary! Now we wait to see who is next!" The announcer announced. Gary called back Jolteon and took out his next took out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"Your turn now, Rhydon!" Gary called out. Rhydon emerged from inside, ready to rumble.
"Gary's second Pokémon is a Rhydon, a Ground-type Pokémon!" The announcer announced. Ash calls Jolteon back inside the Pokéball and took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Lapras! Go!" Ash called out. Lapras came out to battle against Rhydon.
"Ash has sent out a Lapras, a Water and Ice-type Pokémon!" The announcer announced.
"Rhydon! Use Rock Slide!" Gary ordered. Rocks are formed and they come down at Lapras.
"And here comes Rock Slide! It could cause a lot of damage when it hits!" The announcer announced.
"Lapras! Dodge and use Ice Beam!" Ash ordered. Lapras dodges by slidining and fired Ice Beam at the Drill Pokémon, freezing it.
"Rhydon is frozen solid from that Ice Beam!" The announcer announced. Just a few seconds later, the ice shatters, freezing Rhydon. Its horn is spinning! "Wait a minute! Rhydon busts out of the ice!"
"Rhydon! Use Hammer Arm!" Gary ordered. Rhydon came at Lapras with a Hammer Arm ready.
"And here comes Rhydon with a Hammer Arm!" The announcer announced.
"Lapras! Use Hydro Pump!" Ash ordered. Lapras fired Hydro Pump right at Rhydon, pushing it back.
"A super-effective hit!" The announcer announced.
"Use Body Press!" Ash ordered. Lapras jumped and slammed down onto Rhydon.
"Lapras is throwing its weight around with that Body Press! Could it be over for Rhydon?" The announcer asked. Lapras got off of Rhydon. The Drill Pokémon had been knocked out.
"Rhydon is unable to battle! Lapras wins!" The referee announced.
"Ash remains in the lead against Gary, but will he be mounting a comeback?" The announcer asked as Gary calls back his Rhydon. He pulls out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Arcanine!" Gary called out. His Arcanine came right out to battle next.
"Gary has sent out Arcanine next! Gary has set himself at a disadvantage when it comes to Pokémon types!" The announcer announced.
"Arcanine! Use Thunder Fang!" Gary ordered. Arcanine came at Lapras with an electrical bite, taking some heavy damage.
"Arcanine makes a solid hit with Thunder Fang!" The announcer announced.
"Use Fire Blast!" Gary ordered. Arcanine fired a powerful Fire Blast at the Transport Pokémon. It took heavy damage, resulting in a knockout.
"Lapras is unable to battle! Arcanine wins!" The referee announced.
"Gary has taken a chunk out of Ash's winning streak! Let's see how Gary continues his comeback!" The announcer announced. Ash took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Dodrio!" Ash called out and his Dodrio came out to battle.
"And Ash has sent out Dodrio as his next Pokémon!" The announcer announced.
"Dodrio! Use Tri-Attack!" The announcer announced. Dodrio forms Tri-Attack and fires it right at Arcanine, dealing some heavy damage. "Now use Aerial Ace!" Dodrio dashed at Arcanine, dealing some heavy damage. Arcanine has been taken down.
"Arcanine is unable to battle! Dodrio wins!" The referee announced.
"Ash keeps his lead in the match!" The announcer announced. "But will Gary push back?" Gary called back his Arcanine and took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Alakazam! Go!" Gary called out. His Pokéball opened and his Alakazam came right out to battle.
"Gary's fourth Pokémon is an Alakazam!" The announcer announced. Ash called back Dodrio and pulled out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Scyther!" Ash called out. His Pokéball opened and his Scyther came right out to battle.
"Ash's fourth Pokémon is a Scyther! And Ash has gained the edge in types again!" The announcer announced.
"Use Dazzling Gleam!" Gary ordered. Alakazam's body becomes surrounded in a field of rainbow-colored energy, which expands outwards and heads towards Scyther.
"Alakazam starts off with Dazzling Gleam!" The announcer announced.
"Dodge and use X-Scissor!" Ash ordered. Scyther dodges Alakazam's Dazzling Gleam and slashes at Alakazam with X-Scissor.
"Alakazam has taken heavy damage with that that X-Scissor! I wonder how Gary will respond to that!" The announcer announced.
"Alakazam! Use Psychic!" Gary ordered. Alakazam uses Psychic to grabbed Scyther and sends it back.
"Alakazam has fought back with a Psychic! Gary is not taking any chances here!" The announcer announced.
"Use Recover!" Gary ordered. Alakazam's whole body glows yellow and all of the damage on its body disappears.
"Alakazam heals its previous injuries it has sustained from Scyther's X-Scissor!" The announcer announced.
"Use Psybeam!" Gary ordered. Alakazam fired Psybeam right at Scyther.
"Use Night Slash!" Ash ordered. Scyther came at Alakazam with its scyche-like arms glowing black and slashed through Psybeam and lands a heavy hit.
"Alakazam takes a slice with that Night Slash!" The announcer announced.
"Use X-Scissor!" Ash ordered. Scyther gave Alakazam another X-Scissor, dealing some heavy damage. Alakazam has been taken down.
"Alakazam is unable to battle! Scyther wins!" The referee announced.
"Alakazam is down and out! Gary will have to focus if he wants to win this battle!" The announcer announced. Gary called back Alakazam and took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Exeggutor!" Gary called out. Exeggutor came out to battle next.
"Gary's fifth Pokémon is Exeggutor, a Grass and Psychic-type Pokémon! It looks like Gary has made a small error on his part since Scyther has the advantage!" The announcer announced.
"Scyther! Use Night Slash!" Ash ordered. Scyther came at Exeggutor with Night Slash ready to slash it.
"Exeggutor is real trouble now! When that Night Slash hits, it'll take some major damage!" The announcer announced.
"Exeggutor! Use Egg Bomb!" Gary ordered. Exeggutor fired egg-like projectiles at the Mantis Pokémon, dealing some damage.
"Exeggutor has dealt some heavy damage onto Scyther!" The announcer announced.
"Use Leaf Storm!" Gary ordered. Exeggutor fired Leaf Storm at the Mantis Pokémon, dealing some heavy damage. Scyther fell on the ground, beaten.
"Scyther is unable to battle! Exeggutor wins!" The referee announced.
"Scyther has been brought down and leaves Ash down to four Pokémon remaining! So, let's see what Pokémon is next for Ash to use!" The announcer announced. Ash called back his Scyther and he took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Dodrio!" Ash called out. Dodrio came back out to battle against Exeggutor.
"Dodrio have been brought back out to battle against Exeggutor! Will Dodrio take Exeggutor down or will Exeggutor take down Dodrio?" The announcer asked.
"Dodrio! Use Drill Peck!" Ash ordered. Dodrio's beaks start spinning like drills and it stabs the Coconut Pokémon with them.
"Dodrio lands a hit with a Drill Peck! Super-effective!" The announcer announced.
"Exeggutor! Use Egg Bomb!" Gary ordered. Exeggutor fired Egg Bomb at Dodrio, dealing some heavy damage. "Use Leaf Storm!" Exeggutor fired Leaf Storm at Dodrio, earning a knockout.
"Dodrio is unable to battle! Exeggutor wins!" The referee announced.
"Exeggutor has taken down Dodrio, so Ash has three more Pokémon left to use! Let's see what Ash has in store next for Gary!" The announcer announced. Ash called Dodrio back and he took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Persian!" Ash called out. Persian emerged from inside the Pokéball, ready to go.
"Persian acts as Ash's fifth Pokémon!" The announcer announced.
"Use Feint Attack!" Ash ordered. Persian disappears and then reappears, giving a hit onto Exeggutor.
"Exeggutor has taken loads of damage from that Feint Attack!" The announcer announced.
"Use Fury Swipes!" Ash ordered. Persian gave five scratches at Exeggutor.
"And Persian has given some damage to its opponent!" The announcer announced.
"Use Shadow Claw!" Ash ordered. Persian came at Exeggutor with one of its claws emitting a shadow aura. Persian lands a slash onto Exeggutor, earning a knockout.
"Exeggutor is unable to battle! Persian wins!" The referee announced.
"Gary is down to one Pokémon left! Will Ash put his final Pokémon down or will Gary make a big push against Ash?" The announcer asked. Gary called back Exeggutor and he took out his next Pokéball and he grinned.
"Been saving you for last," Gary said. He threw it. "Blastoise! Go!" His Pokéball opened and Blastoise emerged from inside and slammed on the ground with its feet.
"Gary's final Pokémon is Blastoise! In my persinal opinion is he has been saving his Blastoise for last! Let's see how well this goes down!" The announcer announced.
"Shadow Claw!" Ash ordered. Persian came at Blastoise with Shadow Claw.
"Use Skull Bash!" Gary ordered. Blastoise lowered its head and dashed towards the Classy Cat Pokémon, earning a knockout.
"Persian is unable to battle! Blastoise wins!" The referee announced.
"Two more Pokémon are left for Ash to use! Will Ash be sending Jolteon back out, or will he send out a different Pokémon?" The announcer asked. Ash called back Persian and took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Jolteon!" Ash called out. Jolteon returns to the battle.
"Jolteon is sent back out to battle! Jolteon has the advantage since it's an Electric-type Pokémon!" The announcer announced.
"Use Thunderbolt!" Ash ordered. Jolteon fired Thunderbolt right at the Shellfish Pokémon with Thunderbolt.
"Dodge and use Skull Bash!" Gary ordered. Blastoise came at Jolteon with Skull Bash, earning a knockout.
"Jolteon!" Ash gasped.
"Jolteon is unable to battle! Blastoise wins!" The referee announced.
"Now Ash is down to one more Pokémon! The way this battle is going, it looks like it could go either way!" The announcer announced. Ash called back his Jolteon and he took out his final Pokéball.
Sora and Leaf were watching the battle closely. Sora was proud of how well Ash battled.
"Ash, you're an awesome Trainer. I know you can win it," Sora said.
Back to the battle at hand, Gary smirked as he looked at Ash.
"Face it, Ash! You'll never be able to beat me, no matter how hard you train," Gary said.
"It's different, Gary!" Ash said. "My Charmander and I have been through so much since the beginning! I met all kinds of people and battled all kinds of Trainers, but I saw how well they battled! And I'm going to show you what I got!" Ash took out his last Pokéball and he threw it. "Go! Charizard!" His Pokéball opened and Charizard came out, ready to battle against Gary's Blastoise.
"Somehow, I knew you were saving Charizard for last! Let's see if it's even more challenging after evolving!" Gary said.
"You're about to find out, Gary! Mega Punch!" Ash ordered. Charizard gave Blastoise a punch in the face, but it did so little to it.
"My Blastoise won't be taken down that easily!" Gary said. Ash realized how close Charizard is to Blastoise's cannons.
"Charizard, get away!" Ash called out.
"Use Hydro Pump!" Gary ordered. Blastoise fired water from its cannons, hitting Charizard on the mark. The Flame Pokémon fell on his belly, but he still had enough stamina to battle.
"Charizard takes a hit with Blastoise's Hydro Pump, but it's still holding on!" The announcer announced.
"Charizard actually held on?!" Gary exclaimed.
"Use Fire Spin!" Ash ordered. Charizard fired Fire Spin, placing Blastoise in a circle of fire.
"Look at this! Blastoise is surrounded by Charizard's Fire Spin! It looks like it's wearing Blastoise down!" The announcer announced.
"No, you're not! Blastoise! Put out that fire with Rapid Spin!" Gary ordered. Blastoise gets in its shell and spins around, putting out the fire.
"Blastoise puts out Charizard's Fire Spin!" The announcer announced.
"Use Fire Blast!" Ash ordered. Charizard fired Fire Blast. It came too fast for Blastoise to dodge or anything, so the Shellfish Pokémon is struck hard by Fire Blast.
"Blastoise is struck hard by that Fire Blast!" The announcer announced. Blastoise fell on the ground, beaten.
"Blastoise is unable to battle! Charizard wins! The winner is Ash!" The referee announced.
"Ash has made it to the final round! It must be a huge upset for Gary to lose it all after coming all this way!" The announcer announced. Gary was shocked that he lost to Ash. He calls back his Blastoise.
"l-I lost? Me?" Gary asked. Gary's cheerleaders started crying hard because Gary has lost.
Up to Kairi, Karen, Riku, Naminé, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Professor Oak, Delia, Kairi's family, and the Pokémon were watching from start to finish.
"Gary came all this way, and he tripped over the finish line," Ventus said.
"Ven!" Aqua scolded.
"No, he's right, Aqua. Gary came so close, but his head got too big for his own good," Professor Oak said. "I always warned him that his overconfidence would be his undoing, but he just shrugged it off." He chuckled. "I'm sure he's starting to regret it."
In the locker room, Ash and Gary were walking and they saw Sora and Leaf coming their way.
"So, you getting to your battle, you two?" Ash asked.
"We are," Leaf said.
"So, we're going to give what everybody came to see," Sora said.
"That's so like you, Sora. Always so optimistic," Gary said. "Ever since the tournament got started, I wanted to be the one who got to battle you, but now it's all for nothing."
"You would be disappointed because you would had me to battle instead," Leaf said. Sora looked at her.
"You would have to beat me first," Sora said to her.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said, nodding.
"Sora, Leaf, I'm going to be rooting for the both of you," Ash said. Sora and Leaf both smiled.
"That means a lot," Leaf said.
"Thanks, Ash," Sora said.
Sora has chosen Pikachu, Golem, Alakazam, Gengar, Machamp, and Kangaskhan for the match. Before they reached the battlefield, Sora and Leaf faced each other.
"Sora, no matter what happens, we're still friends, right?" Leaf asked.
"Of course," Sora said. "We knew this was going to happen ever since we got started with our journey."
"Yeah, you're right," Leaf agreed. "Give me everything you got, Sora. For me, for Karen, and for Kairi." Sora smiled.
"Only if you do the same thing, Leaf," Sora said. Leaf smiled.
With that said, Sora and Leaf shook hands and entered the battlefield to start their match.
"And now, the semi-final round of this year's Indigo Plateau Pokémon League is about to begin! First we have Leaf from Pallet Town, and Sora also from Pallet Town!" The announcer announced.
"Sora, Leaf," Kairi said. "Do your best down there, the both of you."
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Trainers, choose your Pokémon and begin!" The referee called out.
"Okay, you're in first, Clefable!" Leaf called out. Clefable came out to battle first.
"Go! Kangaskhan!" Sora called out. Kangaskhan came out to battle first as well.
"Sora has chosen Kangaskhan, and Leaf has chosen Clefable!" The announcer announced.
"Clefable! Use Ice Punch!" Leaf ordered. Clefable came at Kangaskhan with an icy punch at the kangaroo-like Pokémon.
"Use Mega Punch!" Sora ordered. Kangaskhan came at Clefable and they both land a punch onto each other.
"Clefable and Kangaskhan lands a hit onto each other! I wonder if this is going to turn into a regular boxing match!" The announcer announced.
"Clefable! Use Meteor Mash!" Leaf ordered. Clefable came at Kangaskhan with Meteor Mash.
"Dodge and use Dizzy Punch!" Sora ordered. Kangaskhan gave Clefable with her fist giving off a rainbow glow. Kangaskhan lands a Dizzy Punch in the face. Yellow birds fly around its head.
"Kangaskhan lands a Dizzy Punch, leaving Clefable confused!" The announcer announced. Leaf took out Clefable's Pokéball and called Clefable back. "Leaf is calling back her Clefable! Which one will she send out now?"
"Go! Nidoqueen!" Leaf called out. Nidoqueen came out to battle.
"Leaf has sent out Nidoqueen next!" The announcer announced.
"Nidoqueen! Use Stone Edge!" Leaf ordered. Nidoqueen sends stones at Kangaskhan, hitting her.
"Nidoqueen makes a start with a Stone Edge!" The announcer announced.
"Use Poison Jab!" Leaf ordered. Nidoqueen came at Kangaskhan, landing a hit.
"Kangaskhan takes hit in the gut with that Poison Jab!" The announcer announced. Sora took out his Pokéball and called Kangaskhan back. "Sora recalls Kangaskhan, so which one will he send out next?" Sora took out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Alakazam!" Sora called out. Alakazam came out to battle next.
"Sora sends out Alakazam out as his second Pokémon!" The announcer announced.
"Alakazam! Use Psychic!" Sora ordered. Alakazam grabs Nidoqueen and held her in his telepathic hold. Alakazam slams Nidoqueen down.
"Super-effective!" The announcer announced.
"Nidoqueen! Use Stone Edge!" Leaf ordered. Nidoqueen sends stones out at Alakazam again.
"Use Fire Punch!" Sora ordered. Alakazam lands a fiery punch onto Nidoqueen. "Use Psychic!" Alakazam unleashed another Psychic, sending Nidoqueen back. Nidoqueen has been taken down.
"Nidoqueen is unable to battle! Alakazam wins!" The referee announced.
"Sora has taken the lead in this match! Now Leaf will have to think fast to win this!" The announcer announced. Leaf called back Nidoqueen and pulled out her next Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Butterfree!" Leaf called out. Her Butterfree came out to battle. Her Butterfree is female.
"Leaf's next Pokémon is a Butterfree! She is using Alakazam's vulnerability to Bug-types to her advantage!" The announcer announced. Sora called back Alakazam and took out his next Pokéball. "It seems Sora isn't taking any chances here! Which Pokémon is he going to use next?" Sora threw it.
"Go! Golem!" Sora called out. Golem came out to battle against Butterfree.
"Sora has sent out Golem, a Rock-type Pokémon as his third!" The announcer announced.
"Golem! Use Rock Slide!" Sora ordered. Golem hurls rocks right at the Butterfly Pokémon.
"Use Double Team!" Leaf ordered. Butterfree forms copies of herself, avoiding whatever attack Golem is going to sent out next.
"Golem is going to have a real hard time, trying to find its opponent with that Double Team!" The announcer announced.
"Golem! Use Stone Edge all around!" Sora ordered. Golem spins and hurls stones everywhere.
"Rocks are flying with that Stone Edge! He really wants to find Butterfree quickly!" The announcer announced. The rocks goes through the copies, making them all fade. The real one is eventually found. "Golem lucked out by finding the real Butterfree with that Stone Edge!"
"Use Rollout!" Sora ordered. Golem began to roll into a ball and plowed right at Butterfree, dealing some heavy damage.
"Ooh, that has got to hurt! And hits from a Rollout gets even stronger after each hit!" The announcer announced.
"Butterfree! Use Energy Ball!" Leaf ordered. Butterfree fired Energy Ball right at the Megaton Pokémon, but Golem is rolling too fast for Butterfree to land a hit. He comes at her again, landing another hit. Butterfree ends up being knocked out by Golem's Rollout.
"Butterfree is unable to battle! Golem wins!" The referee announced.
"And that's two Leaf has lost to Sora! I wonder how will she recover from this!" The announcer announced. Leaf called back her Butterfree and smiled.
"Not bad, Sora, but it's not over yet!" Leaf said, taking out her next Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Venusaur!" Her Pokéball opened and her Venusaur has been sent out.
"Venusaur!" Venusaur said.
"And Leaf's fourth Pokémon is her Venusaur! She has the type advantage over Golem in this one!" The announcer announced. Sora called back Golem and took out Alakazam's Pokéball and threw it.
"Okay, Alakazam! Back to action!" Sora called out. Alakazam came back out to battle.
"And Alakazam is sent back out! Sora has the advantage in type this time!" The announcer announced.
"Use Psychic!" Sora ordered.
"Use Leaf Storm!" Leaf ordered. Venusaur unleashed Leaf Storm too fast for Alakazam to launch a Psychic.
"That Leaf Storm has struck Alakazam before it had time to use any of its attacks!" The announcer announced.
"Finish Alakazam off with a Power Whip!" Leaf ordered. Venusaur extends vines at Alakazam, landing a hit and resulting in a knockout.
"Alakazam is unable to battle! Venusaur wins!" The referee announced.
"Leaf starts her comeback by taking out Alakazam! How long will it last?" The announcer asked as Sora called back Alakazam.
"Rest up, Alakazam. You earned it," Sora said. He took out another Pokéball and threw it. "Okay, Gengar! Go!" Gengar came right out, ready to battle.
"Sora has sent out his Gengar as his fourth Pokémon!" The announcer announced.
"Gengar! Use Shadow Punch!" Sora ordered. Gengar lands shadowy punch onto Venusaur.
"Gengar starts up with a Shadow Punch in the face!" The announcer announced.
"Use Shadow Ball!" Sora ordered. Gengar forms a ball of shadow and hurls it at Seed Pokémon.
"Block with Energy Ball!" Leaf ordered. Venusaur fired Energy Ball, colliding with Shadow Ball, resulting in a small explosion.
"A collision of Shadow Ball and Energy Ball! A real clash of power!" The announcer announced.
"Use Night Shade!" Sora ordered. Gengar fired Night Shade, hitting Venusaur on the mark.
"Venusaur takes some damage with that Night Shade!" The announcer announced.
"Use Leaf Storm!" Leaf ordered. Venusaur fired Leaf Storm, taking the Shadow Pokémon in the leaves like with Alakazam. Gengar has been taken down.
"Gengar is unable to battle! Venusaur wins!" The referee announced.
"Gengar makes two Leaf's Venusaur has taken down! It looks like Leaf is putting Sora in a corner here!" The announcer announced. Sora called back Gengar and he took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Back to action, Kangaskhan!" Sora called out. Kangaskhan comes back out to take another shot at Leaf.
"Sora sends Kangaskhan back out to battle for a second time! Will Kangaskhan avenge its comrades, or will it meet the same fate as Alakazam and Gengar?" The announcer asked. Leaf calls back Venusaur and took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Dragonair!" Leaf called out. Her Pokéball opened and her Dragonair came right out to battle.
"Leaf's fifth Pokémon is a Dragonair!" The announcer announced.
"Use Dizzy Punch!" Sora ordered.
"Use Breaking Swipe!" Leaf ordered. Dragonair swung its tail and lands a hit onto the Parent Pokémon.
"Dragonair lands a brutal blow with a Breaking Swipe!" The announcer announced.
"Use Dragon Pulse!" Leaf ordered. Dragonair unleashed a Dragon Pulse right at Kangaskhan.
"Dodge it!" Sora called out. Kangaskhan tried to dodge, but Dragonair's attack came too quick for him.
"Ooh, Dragonair's Dragon Pulse does some serious damage to Kangaskhan!" The announcer announced.
"Finish up with Hyper Beam!" Leaf ordered. Dragonair fired Hyper Beam, dealing some major damage. It was enough to bring Kangaskhan down.
"Kangaskhan is unable to battle! Dragonair wins!" The referee announced.
"Dragonair has taken down Kangaskhan! That leaves three more Pokémon left to use!" The announcer announced as Sora called back his Kangaskhan. He took out Golem's Pokéball and threw it.
"Golem! Back to action!" Sora called out. Golem back out to rumble.
"Golem is sent back out to battle against Dragonair!" The announcer announced.
"Dragonair can't attack again right away after using Hyper Beam, so it's my chance to strike! Use Stone Edge!" Sora ordered. Golem hurls Stone Edge at the Dragon Pokémon. Dragonair has taken some heavy damage from the stones.
"Sora has taken advantage of Dragonair being unable to attack after using Hyper Beam!" The announcer announced.
"Use Heavy Slam!" Sora ordered. Golem jumped up and started to come down at the Dragon Pokémon.
"And here comes Golem throwing its weight around with that Heavy Slam!" The announcer announced.
"Dodge it!" Leaf called out. Dragonair successfully dodges Golem's Heavy Slam. "Use Dragon Pulse!"
"Rollout!" Sora ordered. Golem rolls into a ball again and heads right towards Dragonair, landing a hit.
"Golem strikes Dragonair hard with that Rollout, and that was just the first hit!" The announcer announced. Golem came at Dragonair again, landing another hit. Golem back with a third Rollout, earning a knockout.
"Dragonair is unable to battle! Golem wins!" The referee announced.
"No pun intended, that was my idea of rock n' roll!" The announcer announced. Leaf called back her Dragonair and smiled.
"Wow, Sora, you grew a whole lot stronger than you were when you and I battled before. You're giving me everything you have. And I can tell you know I'm doing the same thing. Okay, here's my next one," Leaf said, throwing her Pokéball. "Go! Kabutops!" Her Pokéball opened up and out came a Kabutops.
"And now Sora is up against a Kabutops, a prehistoric Pokémon, and a Water-type Pokémon!" The announcer announced. Sora calls back Kabutops and looked at Pikachu.
"Your turn, buddy," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu said. He stepped in the battle.
"And now, Sora's fifth Pokémon is Pikachu, and Electric-type Pokémon!" The announcer announced.
"I knew you were going to send out Pikachu at some point. Okay, Kabutops! Come at Pikachu with Slash!" Leaf ordered. Kabutops ran towards Pikachu to slash at him.
"Dodge and use Electro Ball!" Sora ordered. Pikachu jumped and forms a ball of electricity. He hurls it right at Kabutops.
"Dodge it!" Leaf called out. Kabutops jumped to dodge Pikachu's attack.
"A close call for Kabutops! That would have been a super-effective hit if it hit!" The announcer announced.
"Use Bubble Beam!" Leaf ordered. Kabutops fired Bubble Beam right at Pikachu. The bubble attack came too fast for Pikachu to dodge.
"Kabutops lands a good-clean hit with Bubble Beam!" The announcer announced.
"Use Slash!" Leaf ordered. Kabutops prepared to slash at Pikachu.
"Use Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu unleashes Thunderbolt, shocking Kabutops on the mark. "Use Iron Tail!" Pikachu smacked Kabutops with Iron Tail, earning a knockout.
"Kabutops is unable to battle! Pikachu wins!"The referee announced. Leaf called back Kabutops.
"Kabutops makes four Leaf has lost to Sora! Will it be Clefable or Venusaur that will come back out to play with Sora's Pokémon?" The announcer asked. Leaf took out Clefable's Pokéball and threw it.
"Come back out, Clefable!" Leaf called out. Clefable came back out to battle.
"And it is Clefable's turn to battle once again! Let's hope Clefable will have a better turn than when it battled earlier!" The announcer announced.
"Clefable! Use Ice Punch!" Leaf ordered. Clefable came Pikachu with Ice Punch.
"Dodge and use Iron Tail!" Sora ordered. Pikachu gave Clefable a smack with Iron Tail. "That was great, Pikachu! Don't overdo it! Come on back!" Pikachu complies with Sora and he took out Machamp's Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Machamp!" Machamp came out, flexing his muscles upon entry.
"Sora sends out Machamp to battle Clefable! I wonder what kind of trick he could have his sleeve with a type disadvantage!" The announcer announced.
"Use Bullet Punch!" Sora ordered. Machamp came at Clefable, landing a couple of punches.
"Machamp lands a couple of punches onto Clefable with a Bullet Punch!" The announcer announced.
"Use Seismic Toss!" Sora ordered. Machamp grabbed Clefable and jumped in the air and gave it a toss to the ground. Clefable has been taken down.
"Clefable is unable to battle! Machamp wins!"The referee announced.
"Wow! Pikachu's Iron Tail was a genius move, followed by Machamp using Bullet Punch as a start, and wrapping up with a Seismic Toss! Leaf is now down to one Pokémon left, so will her Venusaur be taken down as easily as Clefable or will Machamp be brought down? We might as well find out!" The announcer announced. Leaf called back Clefable and threw her Pokéball.
"Venusaur! Go!" Leaf called out. Venusaur came back out to battle.
"Now we will get our answer!" The announcer announced.
"Use Solar Beam!" Leaf ordered. Venusaur began to build up energy in her flower. Sora knew Venusaur will fire once she hasbuild up enough solar energy.
"Machamp! Use Strength!" Sora ordered. Machamp's body becomes surrounded by a light blue aura and he rushed over to Venusaur. He lifts the Seed Pokémon into the air.
"Machamp lifts Venusaur up with Strength!" The announcer announced.
"Give Venusaur a good throw!" Sora called out. Machamp gave Venusaur a powerful throw.
"Fire!" Leaf called out. Venusaur fired Solar Beam, striking Machamp on the mark. It was powerful enough to knock out the Superpower Pokémon.
"Machamp is unable to battle! Venusaur wins!" The referee announced.
"Now both Trainers are down to one Pokémon each, so only one of them will he making it to the final round! Despite it all, they're giving it their all!" The announcer announced. Sora called back Machamp and looked at Pikachu.
"Back to action, Pikachu," Sora said.
"Pika, Pika," Pikachu said. He stepped back in the battlefield.
"And Pikachu returns to the battlefield, ready to rumble! Pikachu's Electric-type moves won't do much damage on Venusaur, but we will see if it'll either help Leaf or hurt her!" The announcer announced.
"Use Power Whip!" Leaf ordered. Venusaur extends her vines to land a hit.
"Dodge with Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Pikachu dodges by running.
"Keep trying to hit Pikachu with Power Whip!" Leaf ordered. Venusaur tries again, but misses.
"It seems Venusaur is no match for Pikachu's speed!" The announcer announced.
"Use Leaf Storm!" Leaf ordered. Venusaur fired Leaf Storm right at Pikachu.
"Dodge it!" Sora called out. Pikachu manages to dodge her Leaf Storm just by running to his right.
"That was close on Pikachu's part! It manages to dodge Venusaur's Leaf Storm!" The announcer announced.
"Use Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu unleashes Thunderbolt, shocking Venusaur on the mark. The Seed Pokémon ends up being paralyzed by Pikachu's Thunderbolt.
"Uh-oh, it looks like Venusaur is now paralyzed from Pikachu's Thunderbolt! It doesn't look good for Leaf!" The announcer announced.
"Venusaur! Use Energy Ball!" Leaf ordered. Venusaur fired Energy Ball right at Pikachu.
"Use Electro Ball!" Sora ordered. Pikachu forms a ball of electricity and hurls it right at Venusaur's Energy Ball, resulting in an explosion.
"This is the second time, Venusaur's Energy Ball has failed her!" The announcer announced.
"That's the spirit, Sora! Keep it up!" Leaf said. It was clear she was enjoying the battle.
"Okay, Leaf, don't hold back," Sora said.
"Use Power Whip!" Leaf ordered. Venusaur extends her vines at Pikachu, hoping to smack him.
"Dodge with Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Pikachu ran and dodges Venusaur's Power Whip. He lands a hit in her face.
"Pikachu makes good use of its speed with that Quick Attack!" The announcer announced.
"Use Iron Tail!" Sora ordered. Pikachu jumped to land a hit with Iron Tail, but Venusaur catches with her flower him before he could land a hit.
"Uh-oh! Venusaur has Pikachu trapped in its flower! I don't see how Pikachu is going to get out of there!" The announcer announced.
"Use Leaf Storm!" Leaf ordered. Venusaur unleashed leaves all around her, giving Pikachu heavy damage from the inside.
"Venusaur gives it to the trapped Pikachu with its Leaf Storm!" The announcer announced.
"Pikachu! Turn up the juice with Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu gave Venusaur a high voltage jolt with his Thunderbolt.
"Pikachu is fighting back with Thunderbolt!" The announcer announced. Venusaur loosens her flower as Pikachu has ceased his attack, making the both of them pant. "Both Venusaur and Pikachu look very tired! Which one of them will be still standing after this?" Pikachu and Venusaur stared at each other while they were panting. Sora and Leaf watches anxiously to see who would still be standing. They stared at each other until Venusaur smiled and then fell on the ground, beaten. Sora and Leaf were stunned to see Venusaur fall.
"Venusaur is unable to battle! Pikachu wins! The winner of the battle is Sora!" The referee announced.
"The final match-up has been decided! Sora is moving on in the final round!" The announcer announced. Leaf smiled the same way as Venusaur as she called her back.
"Take a good long rest, Venusaur. You deserve it," Leaf said. She walked up to Sora and he does the same thing. "Congratulations, Sora. You grew a whole lot stronger than the last time, Sora. And I'm so very proud of you."
"Thanks, Leaf. I'm also proud of you. You didn't hold back even once," Sora said.
"Neither did you," Leaf said. They high-five each other after a good hard battle. "I'll be rooting for the both of you."
"What we're seeing is a display of good sportsmanship! It looks like these two Trainers respects each other's strengths!" The announcer announced.
The final round is now within sight, so Sora and Ash will be duking it out in their upcoming battle. Will friendship slow them down, or will it give them strength? Find our as we reach the concluding battle between Sora and Ash.
