Episode 105: Race Through the Canyon
After dealing with the Heartless terrorizing the canyon, Kairi, Kairi, Tracey, Pikachu, Angel, and Togepi have arrived to the city's Pokémon Center and they let out their Pokémon to have a meal. Azurill sat on Sora's lap as Sora happily fed her the Pokémon food provided to her.
"Like that, Azurill?" Sora asked.
"Azu, Azu," Azurill chirped. Chikorita didn't like it when it was Sora taking care of Azurill and feeding her. Chikorita ran up to Sora and nuzzled his leg.
"You can't be done with your meal already, Chikorita?" Sora asked. He looked at the bowl, still full of food. "Come on, you haven't even eaten one bite of it."
"Chiko!" Chikorita bumped Azurill off his lap with Tackle and lands on his lap.
"Hey, that wasn't nice, Chikorita!" Sora scolded, picking her up. "You gotta be nice, because Azurill is just a baby!"
"Chi," Chikorita pouted.
"Now, eat. We can discuss your behavior later," Sora said. Chikorita puffed her cheeks as she pouted. He placed Azurill back on his lap. "Sorry about that, Azurill. You doing okay?"
"Azu, Azu, Azu!" Azurill chirped.
"You seem okay," Sora said, remembering Marill and how she was such a crybaby. He tickled Azurill, making her giggle.
Kairi smiled as she watched her boyfriend tickle the Polka Dot Pokémon.
Over to city hall, Diane is on the phone with the chief of police.
"That's wonderful. Did you happen to identify the ones who helped out?" Diane asked.
"No, madame mayor. Jenny claimed that she didn't see much, but the threat is no longer around," the chief said.
"Excellent. That means the race can proceed without incident," Diane said.
The mayor shouldn't have counted her winnings yet when Team Rocket have arrived to the city and analyzed the competing Pokémon.
"We got Pokémon on the left and Pokémon on the right," James said.
"Oh, the boss will be happy to see that we got these primo Pokémon for him," Meowth said.
"Not only that, but the twerps have dealt with our Heartless problem. That thing would have gotten us if we hadn't gotten away: Jessie said.
"We ran so fast, I thought my legs were gonna fall off," James said.
"You could hop the rest of the way, right?" Meowth asked.
"I don't think I could, Meowth," James said.
"Put a sock in it, you two. We have plans to capture all of those Pokémon," Jessie said.
"Right," Meowth said. "And I have just the thing." Jessie and James, looked at the Scratch Cat Pokémon, intrigued.
"What do you have in mind, Meowth?" Jessie asked.
"Okay. Here is how it's going to go down. The Trainers and their Pokémon will be coming through the canyon and make it all the way back. Buried in the dirt, there is a small mine that will make a giant net appear and trap them all inside. We will get our balloon and use it to float our way back to HQ, present them to the boss, and not only will he forget about our debt, but he will give us a promotion so big, we could take over Team Rocket for him!" Meowth said.
"Yay!" Jessie and James cheered.
"Nothing more isn't going to make me happier than to put both of those stuck up bitches Cassidy and Matori in their places once and for all!" Jessie said.
"The same with that pompous Butch," James said.
"The same with that prissy Persian!" Meowth added.
"We're finally going to win the day, because we're evil all the way!" Team Rocket chanted. They chuckled evilly.
Back in the Pokémon Center, Sora, Kairi, Tracey, Pikachu, Angel, and Togepi were cleaning up from their meal. Just when they were cleaning, they spotted a young woman with green hair and blue eyes. Her hair is tied in a bushy ponytail. She wore a short red top and red shorts. She wore dark red boots and pink wrist bands. She also has orange upside-down triangle earrings. She is feeding a Charizard that appears to be much larger than Sora's Charizard, but it wore a pink bow, same as Angel.
"Eat up, Charla. You're going to need the nutrients to build up your strength," the young woman said. The Charizard roared lightly and ate the food presented to her. She then sniffed the air and she looked at Sora. "I think I smell a Charizard. And it's coming from you."
"Uh," Sora could only say.
"Tell me something. You have a Charizard, don't you?" The young woman asked.
"Yeah, just not with me right now," Sora said.
"You can smell a Charizard off of someone?" Tracey asked.
"Of course. It might be feint, but it's still lingering. And it tells me if the Trainer's a Charizard Trainer or not," the young woman said.
"Is that why you're sniffing around my boyfriend like that?" Kairi asked, almost sounding jealous. She realized what she did and chuckled nervously.
"Sorry. I was being rude. My name is Liza. I'm the caretaker of the Charicific Valley," Liza introduced herself. "And this is my Charizard Charla."
"I thought you looked familiar," Tracey said.
"You know about her, Tracey?" Kairi asked.
"I sure do. Liza is quite famous in the Johto region. She is known to train not only her own Charizard, but she also trains wild Charizard living in the Charicific Valley. That area's been off limits for tourists and Trainers looking for wild Pokémon to catch," Tracey said.
"I'm not that famous, but I am honored. You have yet to introduce yourselves," Liza said.
"Right. I'm Sora," Sora introduced himself.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"I'm Kairi, and this is my Eevee Angel," Kairi introduced.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Toge, Toge," Togepi chirped.
"And I'm Tracey Sketchit," Tracey said.
"Nice to meet you," Liza said. She looked at Sora. "So tell me. You do have a Charizard with you, don't you?"
"Yeah. I can have him brought over here," Sora said, taking out his Pokémon Box and he exchanged Gligar for Charizard. "And here he is." He tossed his Pokéball up and his Charizard came right out. Liza examined his Charizard.
"Hm. You look like a strong one. The flame is burning healthfully. Scales feels smooth. And the wings are mighty impressive. You obviously did a great job raising this Charizard," Liza said.
"Thanks. Had him when I first caught him as a Charmander," Sora said. "Anyway, since you're the Charicific Valley's caretaker, then what are you doing here?"
"I come here every year to compete in the race. When I first arrived here, I heard it might have been canceled because of a monster was rumored to roam the canyon. But now the race is back on track which makes a relief, because I thought I came here for nothing," Liza said. Sora, Kairi, and Tracey knew she meant the Antlion Heartless roaming the canyon. They didn't want to let you too much.
"We're just glad things worked out in the end," Kairi said.
"Me too. Are you competing as well?" Liza asked.
"Um, not exactly. We were just passing by on our way to Azalea Town. One is to make a very important delivery and the other is to earn a Gym Badge," Sora said.
"I see," Liza said.
"Have you been in these races much?" Kairi asked.
"Yes. For the last four years. I won four times in a row because of Charla here. Isn't that right, Charla?" Liza asked. Charla roared with agreement.
"She must be a skilled flyer," Tracey said.
"She has to be in this kind of event. The rules states that a Trainer and their Pokémon to use either the land or sky as long as the Pokémon is big enough to ride on. Also, the Pokémon has to fly close to the ground to avoid cheating by flying straight into the sky to take a short cut.
"Has that ever happened before?" Sora asked.
"Just last year on my time. A competitor used his Dragonair to cheat by flying over the rest of us, but he ignored the surveillance cameras all around us, so he got permanently banned from competing," Liza explained.
"Wow, just about anyone would do just about anything to win," Sora said.
"At least there won't be any foul play this year," Kairi said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Toge, Toge," Togepi chirped.
"Eevee," Angel said.
Over to Team Rocket, they spotted several cameras placed all over the canyon.
"What's with these cameras?" James asked.
"Maybe they're searching for a star as beautiful and talented as me, well the search is over!" Jessie said, doing a pose.
"She could be a star alright. In horror movies," Meowth said.
"I heard that!" Jessie hissed.
"Those cameras are being used to look out for cheaters," a voice said. Team Rocket turned to see a man walking with his Magneton. "The mayor decided to have these set up to monitor the racers, making sure they followed the rules. Some Trainers thought it was a good idea to use flying Pokémon to go above the competition and win the gold. Someone tried that last year and got the boot."
"Is that right?" James asked.
"What are you doing here?" Meowth asked.
"Making sure that they still work. After the recent monster sightings, the mayor wants to make sure their still operating the way they're supposed to. She wants to avoid any blind spots," the man said. He and his Magneton examines the cameras, one at a time and he marks them off to see if they check out. "Well, they're doing okay. Just as long it that monster really is gone, everything should be okay." He and his Magneton nodded in agreement. "Anywho, you three might not want to be here when the race is in progress."
"Oh, we'll be out of your hair," Jessie said, chuckling as the man and his Magneton left. "I think we just found the perfect spot."
"The perfect place to the trap," James said.
"Before we do that, we gotta disable the cameras before they get here," Meowth said.
"Agreed! We'll need you to do the honors," James said.
"On it like stink on a Stunky," Meowth said.
Team Rocket spent the whole day, searching for the source of the surveillance cameras. They eventually found it. It was in a shack in the camera, operated by the girl inside. They tied up the girl and they set their plan off, hoping there will be no problems.
On the very next day, all of the competitors got into position for the race. The racers consisted of Liza and Charla. There were some other Trainers who has an Arcanine, a Tauros, a Kangaskhan, a Dodrio, a Steelix, a Rhyhorn, a Rapidash.
"Ladies and gentlemen! Welcome back to the annual Canyon race! A race that goes around the canyon and back! Three laps are required to win the race! Who will be taking home the gold this year? Will it be our reigning champion, Liza and her Charizard, Charla or someone new? We shall see!" The announcer announced.
"This is it, Charla," Liza said. Charla roared in agreement.
"You've met the favorite to win, but we shall see whom else has joined us in the Canyon race! Racer number 2 is a regular here in the race! We have Chance and his Arcanine!" The announcer announced as Arcanine announced. "Racer number 3 is a newcomer joining us from Circhester in the Galar region! Meet Newton and his Tauros! Racer number 4 is also a newcomer! Coming in from Hau'oli City on Melemele Island of the Alola region, Ginger and her partner Kangaskhan! Number 5 is rejoining us after a two year absence! Let's give a warm welcome to Mary-Lee and her Pokémon Doduo! Number 6 is a local boy! It's Timmy and his partner Steelix! Number 7 has come all the way from Santalune City in the Kalos region and known Rhyhorn racer, Kurtis and his Rhyhorn, Bulldozer! And last and certainly not least is racer number 8! She's come off the farm to come join us here in the canyon race! Meet Huckleberry Sally and her Rapidash, Buttercup!" The racers all get into position to race. "Our official judge, Mayor Diane has come down to begin the race!"
"Thank you everyone for joining us for our annual event! I shall lay down the rules! Flying is permitted, but you are not allowed to go any higher than the other racers and take the lead! Also, the use of attacks on the other racers will not be tolerated! Anyone caught breaking the rules will be automatically disqualified! Now that the rules have been set! We can begin the race!" Mayor Diane said as the racers get prepared to race. They wait for traffic light to change from red to green. Once it flashes to green, the race begins.
"And they're off!" The announcer announced. The racers started to run and/or fly. "It looks like Kurtis is making an early lead with Liza in second and Huckleberry Sally in third! Liza and Charla are going neck-to-neck against Kurtis and Bulldozer, but Huckleberry Sally and Buttercup are catching up!" The Pokémon try to outrun each other. Not one of them wants to lose. "Coming in fourth place is Mary-Lee and Doduo are trying to catch up as Timmy and his Steelix are right behind them! Doduo doesn't want Steelix to pass it!"
As they watched the race, Pikachu and Angel spotted something out of the ordinary. He spotted Meowth wearing a disguise. Pikachu knew it has to be Team Rocket up to their usual tricks again.
"That's definitely Meowth down there. Team Rocket's got something planned." - Pikachu subtitle.
"I agree. We should tell Sora and Kairi about this." - Angel subtitle. Pikachu and Angel gets their Trainers attention.
"Don't bother me now, Pikachu," Sora said.
"We'll play later, Angel," Kairi said. Pikachu and Angel jumped and turned their heads and pointed to Meowth at the scene.
"Ow! Pikachu, Angel, what's gotten into yo-" Sora paused when he saw Meowth at the scene. Kairi then realized what they were trying to tell them. "That's Meowth! What is he doing there?"
"Up to no good as usual," Kairi deduced. "And I have a feeling in my bones that they have something planned for the competing Pokémon."
"You're right to think that, Kairi. We should see find out what it is," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"Toge," Togepi chirped.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"May I suggest we find out what?" Kairi asked.
"Yes, we should, taking out a Pokéball and threw it. "Hoothoot! Come out!" Hoothoot came right out with a swirl of stars. "Hoothoot, we need you to follow Meowth and see where he goes! Once you got what you need, come right back to us!"
"Hoothoot," Hoothoot hooted as he started to follow Meowth, being careful not being seen by Meowth.
"Now we wait," Sora said.
Meowth took off for the canyon, not knowing he was being followed by the Shiny Owl Pokémon. Meowth made it back to James waiting for him.
"What's the 411?" James asked.
"The racers are coming our way! All we gotta do is time it just right," Meowth said.
"Okay. Set trap in position," James said, placing the net on the ground and buried it. He chuckled. Hoothoot saw what he needed to see and started to fly back to Sora.
Speaking of which, Sora, Kairi, Tracey, Pikachu, Angel, and Togepi waited for Hoothoot to come back.
"It was a good idea to send Hoothoot out to see and follow Meowth, Sora," Tracey said.
"Hoothoot should be able to get the job done, so we'll have the drop on those morons and stop them before they could do something to ruin everything," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Hoothoot!" Hoothoot hooted. They looked up and saw Hoothoot fly above them.
"And not a moment too soon!" Sora exclaimed.
"Did you find anything, Hoothoot?" Kairi asked.
"Hoothoot!" Hoothoot nodded.
"Lead the way!" Sora said. Hoothoot led Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, and Togepi to where Team Rocket is occupying. Jessie sat in the control chair.
"Jessie to James, Jessie to James. Come in, James? What's the current situation?" Jessie asked.
"Trap is in position, and currently waiting for targets to arrive," James said.
"Wonderful!" Jessie said. She checked one of the cameras and chuckled. "And not a moment too soon! The Pokémon are all coming your way!"
"Waiting for targets now," Meowth said.
"Now to do my part," Jessie said, disabling the cameras.
Back at the booth, Sheila noticed the camera in a certain area has been turned off.
"That's odd," Sheila said.
"What?" Diane asked.
"Our cameras in sector 5 have gone offline. That niece of mine must have done something to them," Sheila said.
"You go check it out and keep me posted," Diane said.
"On it," Sheila said. She stepped out and thought to herself, "That is not like Mandy. Something must be wrong."
The racers were approaching Sector 5, unaware of James and Meowth being in the area. They waited for their targets to come along. Once they were all right where they were, Meowth presses the button and the net opens up and entraps the racers in it.
"What the hell is going on?!" Liza exclaimed. James and Meowth laughed. They jumpped out of hiding.
"We got them! We really got them!" Meowth said.
"Yes! The boss will be impressed by our catch!" James said.
"Who are you? What gives you the right to do this?" Liza asked.
Sora, Kairi, Tracey, Pikachu, Angel, and Togepi have arrived and they saw the net around the racers.
"Crap! We're too late!" Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"We gotta get them out of there," Kairi said.
"Eevee!" Angel said.
"Jessie, Jessie! We got the Pokémon in the net!" James said.
"Good work! Things are finally going our way!" Jessie said. Suddenly the door opened and Sheila stepped in and saw her niece tied up.
"Mandy!" Sheila gasped. She saw Jessie in her chair. "What do you think you're doing?! You're not authorized to be in here!"
"And who are you?" Jessie said.
"The deputy mayor, and I hereby order you to vacate from my niece's chair this minute!" Sheila said.
"Not going to happen!" Jessie said, taking out two of her Pokéballs and threw them. "Arbok, Lickitung! I choose you!" Her Pokéballs opened and Arbok and Lickitung came on out.
"So, it's a battle you want, is it? Then I'll oblige you!" Sheila said, taking out two of her Pokéballs and threw them. "Nidoqueen, Mitank! Go!" Her two Pokéballs opened and a Nidoqueen came out first. Second to come out is a bipedal, bovine Pokémon. Its body is mostly pink, with a yellow belly and black, angular markings along its back. A black hood-like marking surrounds its face with a pink, triangular mark on its forehead. There are two small horns on top of its head. It has large, blue eyes, a black nose, and a wide mouth, as well as long, black, floppy ears with yellow insides. the Pokémon has a yellow udder with four pink teats. All four of its limbs end in black, cloven hooves, and its long tail is tipped with a black sphere. "Ready when you are!"
"Arbok! Use Wrap! Lickitung! Use Tackle!" Jessie ordered. Arbok and Lickitung came at their oppeonts.
"Nidoqueen! Use Body Press on Lickitung!" Shiela ordered. Nidoqueen came at Lickitung and slammed her body on the Licking Pokémon, dealing some damage. "Miltank! Use Iron Tail!" Miltank swung its tail, hitting Arbok on the spot.
"How dare you! Arbok! Use Poison Sting! Lickitung! Use Stomp!" Jessie ordered. Both of her Pokémon came at Sheila's Pokémon.
"Use Hyper Beam!" Sheila ordered. Nidoqueen and Miltank fired Hyper Beam, hitting Jessie, Arbok, and Lickitung, making her go flying.
"It looks like I'm blasting off alone!" Jessie yelled as she and her Pokémon go flying in the air. A star twinkles in the distance. Shiela rushes to her niece and unties her.
"Are you alright, Mandy? She didn't hurt you, did she?" Sheila asked.
"No aunt Sheila. You sure gave that old hag what for!" Mandy said. Sheila smiled. "But there are two more of them! There was a guy and a talking Meowth."
"A talking Meowth?" Sheila asked.
"Yes. They said they were going to steal the Pokémon racing," Mandy said. Sheila didn't like how that came out.
"So that's what's going on! Just when we had one problem solved, another one pours right on our laps," Sheila said. "I'm going to head down to sector 5 while you get the cameras operating again!"
"On it, aunt Sheila," Mandy said, retaking control of her station. Sheila got on her motorcycle and rode in to foil their plan.
Back to sector 5, James and Meowth tried to get in contact with Jessie, but no word was coming in.
"Strange. I can't seem to get in touch with Jessie," James said.
"We'll have to take them back to the shack with us," Meowth said.
"Right," James said, but Hoothoot came flying down and pecked James on the head. "Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow!" Hoothoot flew back to Sora's shoulders.
"Good job, Hoothoot," Sora said.
"It's the twerps again!" Meowth exclaimed.
"No, not again!" James said.
"I think that was my line," Sora said.
"Who do you think you are for doing this?" Tracey asked.
"That's an ignorant question to ask us, twerp number three!" James said.
"We're taking all of these Pokémon with us as a present to the boss!" Meowth said.
"Well, Giovanni will have to learn that he doesn't always gets what he wants! And you two idiots are going to be why that is," Sora said.
"I think not!" Meowth said.
"We won't let you stop us this time! Weezing, Victreebel! I choose you!" James called out as he took out his Pokéballs and threw them. Weezing came right out first as Victreebel came out and chomped on James's head. "JUST FOR ONCE, CAN'T YOU JUST COME OUT OF YOUR POKÉBALL WITHOUT TRYING TO EAT MY HEAD?!" Sora and Kairi nodded at each other. Kairi took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Sentret!" Kairi called out. Sentret emerged from inside the Pokéball.
"Sentret!" Sentret said.
"Hoothoot! Go for it!" Sora said.
"Hoothoot!" Hoothoot hooted.
"Hoothoot! Use Wing Attack!" Sora ordered.
"Sentret! Use Aqua Tail!" Kairi ordered.
Hoothoot came at Victreebel with Wing Attack as Sentret came at Weezing with an Aqua Tail. Both Pokémon lands a hit onto them.
"Victreebel! Use Vine Whip!" James ordered. Victreebel smacked Hoothoot and Sentret with Vine Whip, dealing some damage. "Weezing! Use Sludge Bomb!" Weezing spews Sludge Bomb onto Hoothoot and Sentret.
"Sentret! No!" Kairi cried.
"Hoothoot! Stay strong!" Sora called out.
Hoothoot and Sentret have taken a lot of damage from Weezing and Victreebel's attacks and they started to evolve right at the same time.
"Hoothoot and Sentret are both evolving at the exact same time!" Tracey said with awe. Hoothoot has become a Noctowl. His feathers are all yellow while his wings are red. Sentret has become a long, slim-bodied mustelid Pokémon with cream-colored fur and dark brown rings along the length of her body. The back of her head and neck are also dark brown; this marking extends to below her arms where the first ring is formed. She has cream-colored tips on her ears, two brown, whisker-like markings on each cheek, and round, black eyes. Her four limbs are stubby; the forepaws are brown and the hind paws cream-colored. "Yes! Hoothoot has become a Noctowl and Sentret has become a Furret!"
"Furret?" Kairi asked.
"Noctowl?" Sora asked. He and Kairi each took out their Pokédexes and scanned their newly evolved Pokémon. Sora's Pokédex shows Noctowl in its natural colors.
Kairi's Pokédex:
Furret, the Long Body Pokémon
The evolved form of Sentret
Type: Normal
Furret has a very slim build. When under attack, it can slickly squirm through narrow spaces and get away. In spite of its short limbs, this Pokémon is very nimble and fleet.
Sora's Pokédex:
Noctowl, the Owl Pokémon
The evolved form of Hoothoot
Type: Normal/Type
Its extremely soft feathers make no sound in flight. It silently sneaks up on prey without being detected.
"Looks the tables have turned in our favor," Sora said.
"I think not! Victreebel! Use Leaf Blade! Weezing! Use Double Hit!" James ordered. Weezing and Victreebel came charging at their opponents with their chosen attacks.
"Furret! Use Fury Swipes!" Kairi ordered. Furret swipes her claws at Victreebel.
"Noctowl! Use Hypnosis!" Sora ordered. Noctowl hypnotized Weezing, making him fall asleep. Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it. "Go right in, Charizard!" His Pokéball opened and Charizard came right out to join the battle. "Use Flamethrower! Pikachu! Use Thunderbolt!" Pikachu and Charizard fired their attacks, frying and shocking James and Meowth. An explosion occurs as they go flying. Sheila have arrived just in time.
"Looks like I'm too late, but just in time for the fireworks," Sheila said.
"So glad Jessie isn't here to witness this mishap," Meowth said.
"If she was, she would blame the both of us for the twerps butting in," James said.
"We're blasting off again!" James and Meowth said as they go flying in the air. A star twinkles in the distance.
"And good riddance," Sora said. He looked at the racers and Pokémon, still caught in the net. "Hold on, we'll get you out. Charizard, use Dragon Claw to cut the net." Charizard nodded and uses Dragon Claw to cut the net and they get out.
"Thanks for the save, Sora. I thought the race was all over," Liza said.
"The race is over, Liza; for them," Sora said.
"Now to get to Jessie," Kairi said.
"If you're referring to the third member of those Pokémon thieves, you're too late, because I have already convinced her to leave," Sheila said. Sora and Kairi knew what kind of convincing she had in mind. Knowing Jessie, she wouldn't cooperate with any form of authority. "I can't thank you for what you did for the city."
"We only did what we thought was right," Kairi said.
"And you're lucky we acted in time," Tracey said.
"Luck or not, I'm grateful for it," Sheila said.
"Now that those varmints are gone, how about we get back to racing!" Huckleberry Sally suggested.
"I was thinking the same thing," Ginger said.
All of the racers got into position and they waited for the deputy mayor's call.
"Alright, racers! Resume the race!" Sheila said. The racers resumed to racing as Liza has taken the early lead with Huckleberry Sally trying to catch up.
The race has gone on as planned.
"We apologize for the delay, ladies and gentlemen. It appears that some of our surveillance equipment were undergoing some technical difficulties, but all is well again!" The announcer announced. The race has reached its third and final lap. "All of our racers are trying to outrun the other, so I'm going to guess it'll be anyone's guess whose win it's going to be! The racers are approaching the finish line! Mayor Diane is snapping the photo finish!" With a flash of the camera, the first half of the racers go over the finish line. "We now wait for the results of the race from our judge!" Diane looked at the photo to see it's Liza and Charla winning by a nose ahead of Huckleberry Sally. She sends the photo to the announcer and he examines it. "And the winner is Liza and her Charizard, Charla! That's five years in a row!" Everyone all cheered for the caretaker of the Charicific Valley as she and Charla celebrated.
"We did it, Charla! I knew all of our training will pay off!" Liza said happily. Charla roared with joy. Liza and Charla accepted the winning trophy as Huckleberry Sally and Buttercup are in second place, and Kurtis and Bulldozer are in third.
Once the race has concluded, the mayor approached Sora, Kairi, Tracey, and the Pokémon for foiling Team Rocket's scheme.
"My deputy mayor has informed me that you have foiled the attempted sabotage of our annual event. You have my thanks for what you did," Diane said.
"Thank you, Ms. Mayor," Kairi said.
"It was their Pikachu and Eevee who were quick to notice," Tracey said.
"And I'm glad they did, otherwise, we would have had a huge problem on our plates right after we already just had one. So, I'm going to reward you for quick-thinking and your bravery. I am making you three honorary citizens of our fair city," Diane said, giving them.
"Thank you, Ms. Mayor," Sora said.
"No, thank you all," Diane said.
With that said, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, and Togepi have left the city with both the mayor and deputy mayor wishing them luck. Compared to Team Rocket's attempts, the Heartless attack would have been a catastrophe, but thanks to Pikachu and Angel, the day is saved. The journey continues on.
