Chapter One-hundred and ninety-six: The Lumiose Conference (part three)

"Okay, Zarbon! Let's make it cringe!"

"Go, Hundemon!"

The semifinal battle in the Lumiose Conference between Kenny and Ideku raged on as both boys sent out their fourth Pokémon each; Kenny his named Machamp of questionable orientation, and Ideku his named Houndoom who he can Mega Evolve. Speaking of, Ideku right away took the opprotunity to Mega Evolve Hundemon into Mega Houndoom. Gesturing forward, Ideku ordered, "Hundemon, use Flamethrower!"

"Zarbon, counter with Stone Edge!" Kenny commanded.

The two Pokémon fired their attacks at one another, both of them colliding and causing a huge bursting explosion to go off, creating a dark smoky cloud to form from the resulting explosion. This would make aiming at opponents difficult, but Kenny wasn't worried about aiming well as Zarbon's No Guard ability made it so that all attacks used by and against Zarbon were guarenteed to land on their marks without trouble.

"Zarbon, use Cross Chop!" Kenny ordered.

"Hundemon, use Shadow Ball!" Ideku commanded.

Hundemon conjured and cast its Shadow Ball attack, having it fly straight through the dark smoky cloud as Zarbon rushed through it to strike at Hundemon. The named Machamp got hit by Shadow Ball, but he was able to take it and go on to deliver a powerful blow to his Mega Evolved opponent. Although it took a super effective blow, Hundemon was by no means finished, and indeed looked all the more determined to win.

Gesturing forward, Ideku called out, "Hundemon, use Flamethrower!"

"Zarbon, use Dynamic Punch!" Kenny commanded.

Hundemon fired its Flamethrower at Zarbon who came rushing in to deliver an utterly devastating punch. Zarbon was hit and even burned, but his Dynamic Punch still hit Hundemon had and made the named Houndoom confused. It was clear that Hundemon endured the Dynamic Punch due to a mix of the burn weakening Zarbon's physical attack and Hundemon's Mega Evolution making it more buff as a whole.

Regardless, both the named Machamp and the named Houndoom were on the edge, and Dawn from where she and the rest of the heroes in the audience sat could tell one more attack each would take both Zarbon and Hundemon out of the running. Gesturing forward, Ideku called out, "Hundemon, use Shadow Ball!"

"Zarbon, use Stone Edge!" Kenny commanded.

Hundemon was able to fight through confusion and conjure and cast its Shadow Ball attack at Zarbon, who likewise cast his Stone Edge attack at Hundemon. Both of the battling Pokémon got hit, as Zarbon's No Guard ensured attacks used by and on Zarbon would land. But just because both attacks were guaranteed to land doesn't mean that they both had to land equally well; likewise, one of the attacks scoring a critical hit doesn't mean the other was promised the same. Indeed, Hundemon's Shadow Ball basically just clipped Zarbon on the left shoulder, whereas Zarbon's Stone Edge scored a direct solid hit that resulted in a critical hit.

In fact, that critical hit ended up being enough to knock Hundemon out, both out of its Mega Evolution and out of the battle, and it collapsed onto the ground of the battlefield in defeat. "Houndoom is unable to battle," the referee announced, "The winner is Machamp!" The audience went wild with cheering as Kenny took the lead in the battle against Ideku.

As Ideku recalled his defeated Houndoom, Clemont in the audience said, "Well alright! Kenny's got three left to Ideku's two!"

Dawn, although happy Kenny had taken the lead, couldn't help but be worried. "...But Zarbon down there is clearly exhausted. Also, Ideku's remaining two Pokémon could tip things in Ideku's favor as none of us have any idea what they could be." Indeed, the named Machamp under Kenny's command was clearly winded and could go down to one more solid hit, and while no one had any idea for sure what Ideku's remaining two Pokémon were, Dawn was figuring that one of them could be predicted, especially given the battle Ideku had won against Ash in the previous round of the Lumiose Conference.

Indeed, Dawn's suspicions were confirmed when Ideku tossed up a ball to call out his next Pokémon. "Go, Cupidos!" Ideku said as he sent out his named Enamorus, his legendary Pokémon. Enamorus, the Pokémon whose capture Ideku had kept secret until he busted her out against Ash during the Vertress Conference back in Unova, the Pokémon Ideku had used to eliminate Ash in that very competition, then went on to use her (probably to terrible effect) to help him defeat the Unova elite four and former Unova Champion Alder after them, making Ideku the Unova Champion until xenophobic laws passed through the legislature of Unova's government booted Ideku from the position he worked hard to earn.

Kenny had three Pokémon left to Ideku's two, but one of the two that Ideku had was Cupidos. It struck Dawn as odd that Ideku was using his legendary Pokémon as his fifth rather than save her for sixth and last; was he planning to capitalize on Zarbon's exhaustion and Cupidos's type advantage over him to score a quick win? The battle raged on between Kenny and Ideku as Ideku called out, "Cupidos, use Moonblast!"

"Zarbon, use Stone Edge!" Kenny called out.

Zarbon conjured and cast his Stone Edge attack as Cupidos conjured and cast her Moonblast attack. The two attacks flew at one another, and a few of the pointed stones from Zarbon's Stone Edge flew past the Moonblast and hit Cupidos, hurting her a bit although it was mitigated by Zarbon's burn. However, the Moonblast broke the remaining pointed stones, then went on to blast right into Zarbon, striking the named Machamp hard enough to knock him out, dropping him to the ground in defeat.

Holding up a hand, the referee announced, "Machamp is unable to battle! The winner is Enamorus!"

The score between Kenny and Ideku was even now as Ideku's named Enamorus took out Kenny's named Machamp. Even so, Zarbon was able to inflict a little bit of damage on Cupidos before she took him out. It was a start that Kenny, as he recalled the defeated Zarbon, planned to capitalize on with the next Pokémon that he was going to be sending out to face off against the legendary Pokémon who Ideku had at his command.

"Okay, Cell!" Kenny said as he sent back out his shiny Scizor, "Let's make it cringe!" Gesturing forward, Kenny called out, "Cell, use Bullet Punch!"

"Cupidos, use Mystical Fire!" Ideku commanded.

Cell rushed forward quickly to deliver a series of bullet fast jabs, but as he rushed he saw the fire type attack come whooshing right for him. His eyes widened in alarm, making him pirouette around the attack to avoid getting hit. Not only did Cell not lose momentum from this, but the spin actually made him rush a little faster. Cell also saw the mark on Cupidos's side left by the small bits of Zarbon's Stone Edge that got in before Zarbon went down. The named shiny Scizor decided to take advantage of the opening made by his defeated ally and land the Bullet Punch attack right on the injury.

Cupidos, as she was hit in her wound by a super effective attack, cried out in great pain, clearly having taken a critical hit. But even so, the legendary Pokémon was far from being finished. Reeling back in, Cupidos snarled angrily at Cell. "Cupidos, use Mystical Fire!" Ideku called out.

"Cell, jump up into Cupidos's face quickly with Iron Head!" Kenny commanded.

Cell, given that he was right up in Cupidos's face, rammed his head, shining like polished metal, right into Cupidos's face, making her fall back. She was still able to conjure and cast her Mystical Fire attack, but it only clipped Cell on his left shoulder; it still hurt the named shiny Scizor like hell due to being a times four super effective attack, but he was able to endure because it didn't land too solid and direct of a blow. Gesturing forward again, Kenny called out, "Cell, use Bullet Punch!"

"Cupidos," Ideku called out, "Use Earth Power!"

Cell was able to rush in and strike at Cupidos's injury inflicted by Zarbon earlier, dealing another solid blow to the named Enamorus. But she wasn't done yet, and made bursts of earthen power erupt from the grund right beneath Cell. The Earth Power hit Cell, although it only struck Cell in one area of his being mainly. But the are where Cupidos's Earth Power struck Cell made all the difference, as Cell was struck right on his abdomen.

The named shiny Scizor stumbled around in a certain kind of pain many a men out there would be able to sympathize with, covering his struck abdomen with his metal pincer claws as he let out an occasiona pained gasp. "Oh, of all the times for Cell to get hit right in his shmeat!" Kenny complained.

Ideku, to his credit, looked a bit embarrassed. "I... did not intend for that to happen if it helps." Shrugging anyway, Ideku called out, "Cupidos, use Mystical Fire!"

"Cell, use Bullet Punch!" Kenny ordered.

Cell, despite the pain that he was suffering right now due to being struck right in his holy land, was barely able to grit his teeth so he could push through and strike at Cupidos again before her Mystical Fire was able to hit him. Once more, Cell landed a painful critical hit with his Bullet Punch right on Cupidos's injury that had been made by what little of Zarbon's Stone Edge had been able to hit there before the named Machamp was taken out of the running. And it was thanks to the efforts Zarbon had made, the door he had opened for Cell, that allowed the named shiny Scizor despite taking a hit to his shmeat to bring Cupidos down.

The audience was indeed surprised to see a legendary Pokémon, type disadvantage or no, going down to a non-legendary, and one who was looking to be on the verge of going down. But defeat a legendary Pokémon Cell did, and because of that the audience erupted into wild cheers. "Enamorus is unable to battle," the referee called out, "The winner is Scizor!"

As Ideku on the battlefield recalled his defeated Enamorus, the heroes in the audience were getting excited for Kenny. "Kenny took out Ideku's legendary Pokémon!" Bonnie cheered, "And he still has two Pokémon left to Ideku's one! Kenny's gonna win this, I just know it!"

Dawn couldn't blame Bonnie for her excitement; even if Cell went down here, Kenny still had his named Giratina Black. Ideku's only (known) Pokémon that could stand up to Giratina was Enamorus, and she just went down. Indeed, things were seeming to be heavily favoring Kenny right now, virtually making it a certainty that Kenny would fight the final round battle against Trip. That meant that, regardless of who between Kenny and Trip won, the heroes would see another League Conference win, and maybe even see another of their group become a region Champion should whoever between Kenny and Trip decide to challenge the Kalos League.

...And yet for reasons that escaped Dawn, she had a growing sense of dread pooling in her stomach. Ideku still had one Pokémon left, and although things seemed like it would go down to Kenny's Giratina even if it took out Kenny's Scizor first, a voice of instinct in the back of Dawn's mind told her that things aren't as assured as they're looking to be right now. Indeed, that voice in the back of Dawn's mind was proven right when Ideku, tossing up the ball that contained his sixth and final Pokémon in the battle against Kenny, called out, "Go, Schwarz!"

*BWOOSH*

"KRRRRROOOOMMMMM!"

The heroes in the audience were all taken by surprise to see that Ideku's sixth and final Pokémon was, of all things, the legendary Pokémon Zekrom, the Pitch Black dragon of Unova region lore. Zekrom was the counterpart, the equal rival, of Reshiram who had been captured by Ayane of Team Scorn; that being said, Dawn was going to ask Ideku about taking a more active role in fighting Team Scorn, in fighting Ayane, after the battle regardless of how it ended. No Pokémon is more up to the task, is more destined, to go toe to toe with Reshiram than Zekrom is.

But right now, Zekrom was fighting a shiny Scizor who was in crippling male pain. "Schwarz, use Fusion Bolt!" Ideku called out. Schwarz leapt up into the air, cloaked itself in a sphere of blue electricity, then rushed at Cell and rammed right into him, eliciting a pained cry and sending Cell flying back until he slammed into a rock and fell over onto the battlefield, clearly out of it.

"Scizor is unable to battle," the referee announced while sounding mildly in awe of the mighty dragon Ideku had out under his control, "The winner is Zekrom!"

Kenny, as he recalled his defeated Scizor, said remarked to Ideku, "Man, and to think Iris got pissy before because you had withheld your capture of Enamorus until you busted it out against Ash in the Vertress Conference. She's gonna go ballistic when she catches wind of you having caught frigg'in Zekrom of all things and not revealing it until you busted it out against me here at the Lumiose Conference."

Ideku looked at Kenny with a look of surprise. "You aren't upset that I'm using Schwarz against you? Also you don't seem as surprised as I would have expected."

After sending out his named Giratina Black to battle Schwarz, Kenny said, "I've seen too much to be totally surprised by you busting out a legendary dragon like Zekrom. Oh, we're gonna have to discuss this after the battle, I bet the rest of the crew's gonna want answers." Gesturing forward, Kenny called out, "Black, use Dragon Claw!"

"Schwarz, use Dragon Claw!" Ideku ordered.

Black, in its Origin Forme, flew at Schwarz and struck it with Dragon Claw at the same time Schwarz struck Black with Dragon Claw as well. The two legendary dragons recoiled in pain, showing that they were fighting on even terms with one another. After both dragons recovered, Ideku ordered, "Schwarz, use Crunch!"

"Black, use Shadow Force!" Kenny commanded. The named Giratina vanished into the shadows before the named Zekrom could bite down hard onto it, making Schwarz look around in confusion. The named Giratina then reappeared in a rush from the shadows, slamming hard into Schwarz and making the Pitch Black dragon cry out in a lot of pain. But it was able to endure and turn right back to face Black.

"Schwarz, use Crunch!" Ideku called out, sending his named Zekrom in to bite down hard on the left side of Black's neck, making the named Giratina cry out in great pain.

"Black, break away by using Dragon Claw!" Kenny commanded, prompting Black to strike at Schwarz with Dragon Claw. This forced Zekrom to release its biting hold on Giratina and give some distance between the two legendary dragons. "Black, use Earthquake!" Kenny commanded.

"Schwarz, use Dragon Claw!" Ideku called out, prompting Schwarz to rush forward with its claws glowing with dragonic power. But due to the distance, Black was able to first get its Earthquake attack off, slamming Schwarz hard with seismic waves. The Earthquake pained Schwarz greatly before it was able to get in and strike at Black with its Dragon Claw attack. The battle was going fiercely, but then again two legendary dragon Pokémon of equal standing to one another were exchanging blows that would in one strike each fell most any Pokémon of lesser standing.

Dawn, as she and the rest of the heroes were watching this climatic climax in the battle between Kenny and Ideku, turned her attention to regard Trip briefly; she could tell by the look in his eyes that Trip was already thinking of a strategy to deal with Ideku's Zekrom in the event that Ideku is able to triumph over Kenny. Ideku's use of Zekrom took all of the heroes by surprise and, should Ideku indeed win here, Trip if he beat Ideku in turn would only do so due to by chance using Kenny as a canary in a coalmine to sus out any danger first to learn more in order to proceed as safely as possible.

The battle down on the battlefield was looking to be reaching the end, and one attack either way could mean the difference between Schwarz going down or Black going down. The next blow was depended entirely on timing, as both battling trainers looked to be one attack away from either victory or defeat. Kenny and Ideku, Giratina and Zekrom, the two opposing sides would see their duel here end in a glorious dragonic clash that would remind many a people of various similar clashes between other Pokémon in tales of legend.

"Black, use Dragon Claw!"

"Schwarz, use Dragon Claw!"

The two legendary dragons rushed one another, claws fiercely glowing with dragonic power. They struck one another so hard, they pushed each other back. Zekrom went down on one knee while Giratina propped itself up with its pointed legs that it had due to being in its Origin Forme. Both panted hard out of pain and exhaustion, and it seemed that either could collapse and pass out at a moment's notice. The audience watched on, all of them on the edges of their respective seats, wondering which one between the two legendary dragons would be the first to go down.

...They got their answer when it was Schwarz, Ideku's named Zekrom, who gave a pained, gasping cry before falling over face first onto the battlefield and passing out, while Kenny's named Giratina was still struggling to stay on the tips of its Origin Forme pointed legs. "Zekrom is unable to battle!" the referee announced as the audience was already cheering wildly, "The winner is Giratina! Kenny Harris moves on to the finals!"

The rest of the heroes couldn't blame the audience for being so excited; not only had the battle finished in a truly climatic way, but their friend Kenny stood as the victor. But it was barely just as Black really was on the edge of going down; had Schwarz's last attack had just a bit more impact, then things here could have potentially ended in a draw. That being said, Kenny winning here was made all the more epic, and that epicness was raised even more given that it meant that Kenny and Trip were going to be battling against one another in the final round of the Lumiose Conference.

Then, whoever won there would get the right to challenge the Kalos elite four and, provided they win there, win the right to challenge Diantha for her title of Champion of Kalos and, provided that they win there, become the new Champion of Kalos. It would be an awesome honor, one that Ideku, despite how he was putting on a brave face as he recalled his defeated Zekrom, was still crushed that he had lost the chance to claim for himself. The roaming trainer from Johto had lost the chance to reclaim in Kalos what had been unjustly taken from him in Unova.

Can anyone blame him for feeling crushed?

Since the Lumiose Conference was over for the day and would resume the next day, the heroes went to the nearest Pokémon Center so that Kenny could have his Pokémon that he had used against Ideku looked after. When the reborn trainers had asked about Ideku coming in as they wanted to talk to him, the Nurse Joy there informed them that Ideku had actually gone to a different Pokémon Center in Lumiose City; the sheer size of the largest city in Kalos had dictated that multiple Pokémon Centers were available in order to cover as many folks as possible.

When the reborn trainers asked about which Pokémon Center in Lumiose City Ideku had gone to, Nurse Joy revealed that, due to protecting client privacy, she couldn't tell them. What she did, however, reveal was that Ideku didn't go to the Pokémon Center he went to until after the heroes got to the Pokémon Center that they had just gotten to. "...Ideku's trying to avoid us," Trip reasoned.

Dawn nodded in agreement. "He's probably upset that he failed to win against Kenny. But then again Ideku's loss meant that he failed to get back in Kalos what he had taken from him in Unova through no fault of his own."

"Is being a region Champion really that important to Ideku?" Bonnie asked, looking concerned, "Why is he so fixated on being a Champion anyway?"

Shrugging, Kenny said, "Maybe Ideku thinks that if he becomes and remains a region Champion, it'll make his parents who were jerks to him all of his life finally drop their foul attitudes towards him and make them finally love him." Kenny, backed up by Dawn, told what he knew of Ideku's home life growing up, how his parents were nothing but mean to him more or less simply because he had been born to them when they couldn't afford a second child. Kenny also covered how the Badorigo parents were reportedly nothing but good to Ideku's older brother Katsuku who, despite all the advantages he got, was still an overall inferior trainer compared to Ideku although Katsuku was still nothing to sneeze at as a trainer.

Folding her arms over her chest, Serena said, "So you figure that Ideku is working as hard as he can to become a Champion because he believes doing so will finally make his parents love and respect him."

Nodding in the affirmative, Kenny said, "It wouldn't be the first time that someone had gone to such crazy lengths because they were that desperate for family love." Turning to look at Trip, Kenny said, "In a way, Ideku can be aid to be similar to you, Trip."

"What do you mean?" Trip asked.

"Back during the Team Scorn attack on Gloire City," Kenny began, "You were very insistent on sticking around with your and Dawn's mom to protect her, despite how it was advised you go and help Dawn deal with Ayane when she appeared. That tells an outside viewer that you were desperate for family love, that you would risk even a siege going south to protect a source of what you wanted."

Trip gave Kenny a knowing look. "I had lost everything once before, and in another Team Scorn siege no less. I was by no means willing, still am by no means willing, to ever experience a repeat ever again." The others nodded in understanding; Trip had been orphaned during a Team Scorn siege on his original hometown back in Unova, and he had only recently been officially adopted by Johanna and was moved to the Sinnoh region. Dawn could also tell that Trip felt guilty of how he had left their mom back in their previous life alone; Dawn also felt guilty about it, but she tried hard not to think about it.

Shaking unpleasant lines of thought from her mind, Dawn said, "Well now Kenny, Trip. The two of you have a big day ahead of you tomorrow. Whoever between the two of you wins in the finals will be the overall winner of the Lumiose Conference, and will earn the right to challenge the Kalos Pokémon League after that. The both of you, as well as your Pokémon you both respectively plan to use, had better rest up." Kenny and Ideku both turned to regard one another, gave each other knowing looks with likewise nods. Tomorrow was truly going to be an epic and climatic day, seeing battling at a level the likes of which hasn't been seen in Kalos prior.

...They two boys just didn't know how exactly that would end up playing out, however.

Meanwhile in the secluded house located withing the depths of Lumiose City that they were using as a temporary base, members of Team Scorn were reviewing the battle between Kenny and Ideku. Boss's Assistant Ayane, as she sat in her chair, scowled bitterly as she watched the part where Kenny was declared the winner. She was slouching somewhat, like how jarls in a certain video game where the hero learned the language of dragons would sit in their thrones. Ayane straightened up a bit when Alain, the Mega Charizard X user, came walking into the room.

"Well shit," Ayane scowled, "A number of Team Scorn higher ups had just lost some serious bets. They're out a great deal of money due to Kenny Harris pulling off an unexpected win against that fool Ideku who I'm working without him knowing it."

"Either way, I can see why Team Scorn actively refrains from getting on the bad sides of trainers like Kenny and Ideku," Alain said. He actually saw the battle between Kenny and Ideku earlier live, although he wore a hooded jacket with the hood up and he kept to a shadowed, secluded area. Alain was shocked to see two trainers battle at so high of a level; he highly doubted that even his Charizard while Mega Evolved had a shot at standing up to the likes of Giratina and Zekrom. Pokémon of such a level like those two legendary dragons could easily wipe entire parties of lesser Pokémon, even if one of the lesser Pokémon were Mega Evolved. It actually scared Alain a bit to know there were trainers going around with such awesome Pokémon.

Gently shaking his head, Alain turned to look at Ayane. "So what do we do now?"

"Well given that Team Scorn higher ups lost their bets before the final round," Ayane said, "We'll be carrying out the big plan tomorrow, before the battle between Kenny Harris and Trip Barley-Berlitz can start up. If Team Scorn can't enjoy the outcome of the Lumiose Conference finals, then no one can."

Alain still wasn't sure how comfortable he could honestly be with all of this; indeed, he was only going along with it because Mairin was hanging in the balance. It was as Alain thought about Mairin that Admin Hero, followed by his Admin's Assistant Asami, came walking into the room. "Belmondo has the main bulk of the forces ready for action at your command, ma'am," Hero said, "We're also ready to launch the trigger that will bring the other half of our planned pincer attack on Lumiose City, although I have to question the safety of the second half of the pincer attack."

"With the chaos that's bound to erupt with both pincers closing in at the same time," Ayane began, "Plus how things will force even Dawn Berlitz and her group to split up their forces, we'll have any and all would-be heroes who would dare to stand up to Team Scorn routed. At an absolute minimum, Team Scorn will deal a crippling blow to Kalos that will make even the first attack on Blackthorn City, Johto look like mere child's play." Hero, despite being a former Kalosian regional hero, was all for bringing Kalos to its knees due to how the region he had once served had betrayed him so easily and readily because of the word of a spoiled and petty Kalosian noble who didn't like being given 'no' for an answer.

Alain, on the other hand, was far less comfortable with the idea of Team Scorn launching a major terrorist attack on the largest city in the Kalos region, and during a region-wide televised event no less. Were it not for his concern for Mairin overriding literally every other concern, Alain would have taken action immediately to help try to stem the inevitable flow of the chaos Team Scorn planned to rain down upon Kalos. Alain could only hope that there would be as little damage and chaos caused as possible by Team Scorn's upcoming actions in Lumiose City.

The following day, everyone was back in the stadium for the Lumiose Conference's final round, where Kenny and Trip were facing off against one another to determine who between them would win the whole shebang and earn the right to challenge the Kalos Pokémon League. The rest of the heroes were in the audience, all of them already expecting things between Kenny and Trip to reach a fever pitch as the two boys battled at a level they hadn't seen since their fought each other back during the Vertress Conference back in Unova.

A battle that Trip ended up winning, giving Kenny all the more reason to push back against Trip here and avenge his prior loss. "Hey you guys," Bonnie began, "Who do you think will win between Kenny and Trip?"

"It could go either way," Dawn replied, "The both of them are strong. Really strong. There's also how I got it that Kenny and Trip respectively brought Giratina and Dialga to this battle, to make things as epic as possible."

"Another clash between two dragons of legend," Serena remarked, drawing an affirmative nod out of Dawn.

Down in the arena, the referee began to officiate the battle between Kenny and Trip. "This battle in the Lumiose Conference finals will be between Kenny Harris and Trip Barley-Berlitz," the referee announced, "Both trainers may use their respective full parties of six Pokémon, one Pokémon at a time each, substitutions are allowed at any time, and the last trainer with any Pokémon still able to continue battling when the battle is over will be declared the winner. Now then..." Throwing a hand up into the air, the referee called out, "BE-"

*THOOM*

The referee was cut off when a huge explosion sounded out, startling many of the people in the audience. Right away, many of the audience saw smoke pillars rising up into the skies above from beyond the rim of the open roof of the stadium the Lumiose Conference was taking place in. As the audience got worked up and scared, they were advised by the intercom system of the stadium to calm down.

"What's going on?!" Bonnie exclaimed, clearly in a panic.

Ash was about to speak up, but got cut off when he and the other heroes heard Diantha call out to them, "Dawn Berlitz and her friends! Lumiose City is under attack!" The heroes in the audience all turned to see Diantha the Kalos Champion come rushing over to them. "I got it from someone outside that Team Scorn has launched a massive attack on Lumiose City!" Diantha said.

"Team Scorn's attacking Lumiose City?!" May exclaimed; May as well as her younger brother Max had stuck around to watch the rest of the Lumiose Conference, as did the rest of the friends that the heroes made in Kalos.

"They also told me they spotted a legion of robots like the one Clemont has at his gym marching through the streets," Diantha said, "They bear the colors of Team Scorn."

"They got the blueprints for Clembot and mass produced an army," Clemont scowled, looking angry and bitter.

Diantha nodded in confirmation. "Indeed. The fact that a mass number of Team Scorn members are attacking Lumiose City, not to mention how they mass produced an army of robots based off of the blueprints Clemont has for the robot at his gym." Gently shaking her head, the Champion of Kalos said, "I have no idea how things here could possibly get any wor-"

Three separate pillars of energy shot up from the ground and into the skies above, shooting up from well outside the range of the stadium the Lumiose Conference was being held in. One energy pillar was blue, one was red, and one was green. The heroes, as everyone in the stadium began to panic even more, had no idea what those pillars of energy meant. But all of that plus the attack on Lumiose City did mean at least one thing; the Lumiose Conference had been interrupted, and the attack that's being launched on Lumiose City is to blame.

Team Scorn, who were the ones launching the attack, were the ones to blame.

END, CHAPTER ONE-HUNDRED AND NINETY-SIX

Author's notes;

This chapter wraps up the battle between Kenny and Ideku, and it sees Kenny win after a long and hard effort despite Ideku pulling out a surprise in the form of his Zekrom. The heroes talk about how Kenny and Trip will battle one another in the finals, although hidden away elsewhere in Lumiose City, Ayane is pissed that Ideku who she's manipulating into unknowingly helping Team Scorn was eliminated as it means a lot of Team Scorn higher ups have lost bets. She uses the timing to make moves to being Team Scorn's big plans for Lumiose City, interrupting the battle between Kenny and Trip in the process.

Not only does Team Scorn bring a lot of grunts to the table, they also bring an army of robots made by Belmondo who took the blueprints Clemont made up for making Clembot. And then three pillars of energy, one red, one blue, and one green, shoot up randomly, but that will be covered in the next chapter as the heroes, their friends, Diantha, and more or less everyone in Lumiose City fight back to repel the latest efforts of Team Scorn to date.
