Chapter One-hundred and ninety-seven: The Lumiose Conference (part four)

Kenny and Trip met back up with the rest of the heroes' group as security tried to escort everyone out to safety. As the heroes with Diantha looked around after everyone got outside, they saw multiple Team Scorn members attacking pretty much everyone within reach of them. The heroes also spotted a squad of yellow and dark blue robots that all resembled Clembot. "They look the same as Clembot and Shiny Clembot," Kenny said, "But all three of them have different colorings. I think that the robots are less like Pokémon and more like yo-kai."

"AIIEE!" Bonnie screamed in fear, "We're being attacked by a robot uprising!"

Shrugging, Max dryly remarked, "What's next, are we going to deal with an attack by a large number of zombies?"

"No no," Kenny said, "We're getting the robot uprising. Vlad King's Green Bean is the one that's getting the zombie apocalypse."

Turning to look at Kenny, May with an utterly confused look said in a likewise tone, "Umm... what are you talking about, Kenny?"

"I doubt that even Kenny himself knows," Dawn replied dryly, "The point is that Lumiose City is under attack by Team Scorn, and they brought both human and robot forces to the table. The people defending Lumisoe City will have to give the efforts of their lives if they're to deal with-"

"Diantha!" a random male voice called out, making the heroes, their friends, and Diantha all turn to see an agent come running up to them.

"What is it, Chumley?" Diantha asked the now identified Chumley.

Pointing to the pillars of energy that are shooting up into the skies above as said skies began to fill with smoke, Chumley said, "Those pillars of energy! The legendary Pokémon Xerneas, Yveltal, and Zygarde have all been sighted at a different one each!"

"Lumiose City is also being attack by Pokémon of Kalos region legend?!" Diantha practically exclaimed, "It's bad enough that Team Scorn is attacking, and they also have an army of robots resembling the one Clemont has at his gym helping them with the attack! But now we're also being attacked by Xerneas, Yveltal, and Zygarde?"

Chumley nodded in the affirmative. "Xerneas is at the blue pillar, Yveltal is at the red one, and Zygarde is at the green one."

Ash was about to speak up, but got cut off when Trip stepped forward. "Diantha," Trip said, "I think this relates to what you tole me, Dawn, and Kenny about Olympia's updated vision. I think that the three of us have to go confront Xerneas, Yveltal, and Zygarde respectively."

Diantha, although she knew that Trip, Dawn, and Kenny were the only ones available who had Pokémon that could deal with the three Pokémon of Kalos region legend, still couldn't help but worry for them. "...You three be safe. Although all of you are extraordinarily powerful, skilled, and gifted trainers, you all are still just kids." The three reborn trainers all nodded in understanding, taking Diantha's warning to heart.

The three of them called out their respective legendary dragons and took up into the air; Trip on Deelia flew off towards the blue pillar, Dawn on Tsukune flew off towards the red pillar, and Kenny on Black flew off towards the green pillar. After the reborn trainers were gone, Diantha turned to look back at the rest of the heroes. "I hate to ask this of you all, but I need you to help with quelling the assault here."

Ash, with Pikachu mimicing his movements, nodded once in understanding. "You can count on us, Diantha!" The rest of the heroes and their friends all cried out in agreement. The heroes then went about trying to deal with the Team Scorn attack on Lumiose City; for Clemont, that saw him head straight for his gym with Bonnie, May, and Max all following him. Clemont says that he has a theory about the robots attacking Lumiose City, based on when he took over ownership of Shiny Clembot. If said theory proves true, then Clemont would be able to single handedly bring down all of Team Scorn's robotic force. May, Max, and Bonnie went along because Clemont took Bonnie with him, Bonnie dragged Max along because of her feelings for him, and May went along because she like Clemont has a younger sibling to worry about.

But with an attack that's looking to have the scale of what's happening to Lumiose City right now, there was with all due respect more to worry about.

Xerneas, the legendary Pokémon, was running around in one area of Lumiose City, having been drawn there by a signal it recognized from when it was attacked by those humans who bore the colors of those automatons it saw moments ago. The mighty stag was enraged at those yellow and dark blue dressed humans, it sought to bring all of them down, and nothing could stand in its way! Not even its equals, Yveltal and Zygarde, would slow Xerneas down as it sought out the humans dressed in yellow and dark blue so that it may put them in their place!"

It was as Xerneas was contemplating how it would punish the humans dressed in yellow and dark blue that the legendary Pokémon heard a human's voice call out, "Deelia, use Flash Cannon on Xerneas!"

Xerneas was cut off mid rampage when it was blasted along its side by a Flash Cannon attack. The attack struck Xerneas hard, and it even looked a little flushed as a result of getting hit; a drop to its special defense. Looking around, Xerneas saw to its surprise the legendary Pokémon Dialga come rushing in towards it. Dialga landed, and a human boy not dressed in those accursed colors got off of Dialga's back. Xerneas had a feeling that its search for those humans wearing the accursed colors was going to have to wait, as this challenge had just popped up.

"Deelia, use Flash Cannon again!" Trip called out as he commanded his named Dialga to continue with challenging Xerneas. Deelia charged up and fired another Flash Cannon at Xerneas, striking it harder than the first Flash Cannon due to Xerneas's special defense drop, although a second drop didn't occur. Dialga was Trip's best bet against Xerneas; sure, Deelia's dragon typing was useless against Xerneas as it's a fairy, and as such Deelia's strongest attack, Roar of Time, would do jack squat to the mighty stag before them.

But Deelia's steel not only evened out it dragonic weakness to fairy, it powered up Deelia's Flash Cannon attack slightly due to STAB (same type attack bonus). Additionally, Deelia also knew Ice Beam and Earth Power, both of which work just fine on fairies like Xerneas. Trip could tell full well that this would be one of the most difficult battles against a wild Pokémon he's had ever since he battled and caught Deelia itself. And now the temporal dragon was aiding Trip in his challenge against the legendary Pokémon of life, one of the three major names of Kalosian lore.

Trip, as he looked on at Xerneas charging up an Aurora Beam attack, realized that he could potentially capture Xerneas here. Dawn had caught Palkia and Darkrai, and Ash caught all three of the legendary birds. Who is to say that Trip himself can't have multiple Pokémon of lore? The sandy haired boy, getting one of the Master Balls he got from the Kalos Poké Ball Factory ready, saw Deelia tank the Aurora Beam well enough. "Hey Deelia," Trip said, "I hope you're ready for a challenge, because we're going to be bringing Xerneas here to kneel. Think you're up for it?"

The named Dialga gave an affirmative cry, ready to show that it can stand up to a Pokémon that's normally a major threat to dragons. Trip turned to look back at where Xerneas stood, gave a smirk. Gestruing forward, Trip said, "Deelia, let's blast it with Earth Power!"

...

Yveltal was flying around, cawing out angrily as it flew around the area it was drawn to due to sensing a signal emitted by those horrid devices carried by the humans wearing the same colors as those automatons it was heading off in one odd direction a short while ago. Yveltal planned to rain destruction down upon those humans in the accursed colors, and as the Destruction Pokémon, it would be a promise that Yveltal by no means would forget to deliver.

The legendary bird of Destruction flew above the buildings of Lumiose City, in the skies that are now choked by flames of red and smoke of black, resembling Yveltal itself. It saw Lumiose Tower in the distance and, annoyed by how lit up it was, charged up a Dark Pulse attack to fire at the building. However, before it was able to get off its attack, Yveltal heard a human girl's voice call out, "Tsukune, use Flamethrower on Yveltal! Tobias, use Sludge Bomb on Yveltal!"

Two attacks flew up from below Yveltal and struck it on its underside. Additionally, the Sludge Bomb was able to inflict poisoning on the legendary bird of Destruction. Annoyed and feeling the sting of pain, Yveltal came down from the skies above to see who it was that had challenged it. To Yveltal's surprise, it saw two other Pokémon thought to exist only in lore; Palkia and Darkrai. A human girl was looking to be in command of the both of them.

"Alright, it looks like Tobias's Sludge Bomb has poisoned Yveltal," Dawn said, "That ought to make wearing it down easier." Gesturing forward, Dawn called out, "Tsukune, use Power Gem! Tobias, use Ice Beam!" The named Palkia and named Darkrai fired off their respective attacks at Yveltal, both of them hitting it and pushing it back significantly. Given the level of danger going on right now, Dawn figured bringing Yveltal down in a two-on-one was justified.

Even more so when Yveltal's eyes glowed with psychic energy as it cast a Psychic attack, but luckily for Dawn Yveltal had tried using Psychic on Tobias who, being a Darkrai which is pure dark type, is immune to psychic type attacks like Psychic. Yveltal was confused as to why its attack had no effect on the smaller opponent, but it had no time to contemplate that seriously as it was hit by another barrage of Power Gem and Ice Beam from Palkia and Darkrai.

After Tsukune's and Tobias's efforts pushed Yveltal back some more, Dawn got one of the spare Master Balls she had out. The trip to the Kalos Poké Ball Factory proved to be very fortuitous for Dawn and the others, as it gave them the means of being able to reliably and effectively deal with threats like Yveltal. But Dawn wanted to bring Yveltal down more so it won't try to avoid the Master Ball she was going to use. Yveltal fired a Dark Pulse at Tobias, and was able to hurt it this time, especially thanks to Yveltal's Dark Aura powering up its dark type attacks.

But Tobias is also dark type, and it resisted things well enough. Even so, Dawn could tell a few more heavy attacks fro Yveltal would bring Tobias down. She did see that the poisoning inflicted was helping to wear Yveltal down faster, and Dawn planned to capitalize on that as soon as the opportunity presented itself. After Yveltal was hurt by its poisoning, Dawn called for another volley of attacks out of Tsukune and Tobias, aiming to wrap things up here quickly enough.

...

Zygarde, as it rampaged through another section of Lumiose City, distinctly saw some of the yellow and dark blue humans who bothered it a while ago milling about. It also saw what looked like automatons wearing the same colors as those annoying humans. Zygarde by no means enjoyed being trifled with by annoying humans, and if it saw another annoying human, then Zygarde would show why it is said to stand equal alongside Xerneas and Yveltal in Kalos region lore.

As such, Zygarde was taken by surprise when it heard a male human voice call out, "Black, use Dragon Claw on Zygarde!" Suddenly, Giratina in its Origin Forme came wooshing by, striking at Zygarde with a clawing attack glowing fiercely with dragonic power. Zygarde reeled back as it took the blow, and Giratina had time to circle back around and land a distance away, allowing the human riding its back to get off and point challengingly at Zygarde, the Order Pokémon.

"I know not what drives you to rampage so, good Zygarde," Kenny said, "But your rampaging must stop here! Your actions put Lumiose City, put all of its many innocent inhabitants, at terrible risk! And I shall warn you of this only once!" Pounding a fist into his hand, Kenny said, "If you do not comply with my request to call for a truce, then Black and I shall unleash the full power of cringe upon you to make you see that peace is an option!" Black roared at Zygarde in agreement with Kenny.

Rather than make Zygarde back down, Kenny saw that his words instead drove the legendary Pokémon to fight all the harder. Zygarde tried opening with an Earth Power attack, but Black was in its Origin Forme at the moment, and while it was such, Black's ability is Levitate, granting it immunity to ground type attacks like Earth Power. Zygarde was confused by the fact that its attack was unable to reach the floating ghost dragon before it, prompting Zygarde to let out a confused cry.

"Aha ha!" Kenny laughed at Zygarde, "You have failed to damage Black, for you know not of the power of cringe that we have at our disposal!" Gesturing forward with a punch in the air, Kenny called out, "Black, hit 'em with Dragon Claw again!" The named Giratina cried out as it rushed at Zygarde once again, claws glowing with dragonic power, as it clawed at Zygarde, eliciting another pained cry from the Order Pokémon in their continuing duel of dragons in the middle of Lumiose City's residential area.

Zygarde knew that it couldn't continue its search for those annoying humans in yellow and dark blue, not while it was fighting this battle against Giratina that had been forced upon it. and the human boy commanding Giratina was proving to be at least as annoying as those yellow and dark blue clad humans. Not the same kind of being annoying, mind you, but he was being annoying in his own way. It would be an issue that Zygarde intended to resolve soon enough before it went back on its search for those annoying humans in yellow and dark blue.

Elsewhere in the city, Ash and Serena were running around, challenging and taking out what members of Team Scorn that they came across. Serena's Pokémon were pushed near to their limits although none between Braixen, Pancham, Sylveon, and Phantump had been defeated. As for Ash's Pokémon, most of them seemed to be without limit by comparison; Pikachu took out a score of Pokémon that Braixen had struggled to take down a single one of. Serena was truly in awe of the vast skill and power that Ash had at his command.

In certain ways, it made Serena admire the boy from Pallet Town, Kanto all the more.

Serena and Ash rounded a corner, but stopped when they saw a squad of Team Scorn's robots come marching their way. "It's rather unsettling how they bear such a striking resemblance to Clembot," Serena remarked, "How will we-"

"Charizard," Ash called out as he sent his Charizard out, "Use Flamethrower on the robots!" Ash's Charizard fired its Flamethower attack at the robots, bathing them in a swamp of fire that short circuited some chips inside of them and destroyed some wiring due to the extreme heat of Charizard spitting hot fire at them. After all of the robots went down, Ash and Serena both breathed sighs of relief.

"How could Team Scorn go so far?" Serena asked, looking and sounding a mix of worried and unsure.

Ash, hearing that Serena was clearly scared, turned to face her. "Serena, you have nothing to worry about," Ash said, "So long as the two of us stick together, there is nothing that can bring us down!" Serena felt a bit more reassured by Ash's words, and she blushed a bit due to Ash saying that she ought to stick with him. Serena was about to speak up, but got cut off when Ash's Charizard caught an incoming attack and threw it back.

To the surprise of Serena and Ash, it was a male Unfezant. Coming up to the scene was the mysterious Team Scorn grunt who Kenny had described to the rest of the heroes; said grunt had supposedly been involved in the death of Grand Duchess Sabine when Team Scorn attacked Gloire City, but forensics were able to confirm that no foul play was involved. Sabine really did fall down the stairs by accident and broke her neck, no pushing necessary.

It still doesn't change how he was at least somewhat involved in the incident that saw Sabine's death.

"...What do you want?" Ash said, his tone and expression showing he was in no good mood at the moment.

"If you continue on the path you and your girlfriend there are on right now, you'll eventually cross paths with where Admin Hero and Boss's Assistant Ayane are at," began the mysterious grunt, "I cannot allow anyone to access the higher ups of Team Scorn. I have too much on the line to allow for that to happen."

Throwing his hand from side to side in a dramatic gesture, Ash angrily yelled, "Then that's all the more reason to defeat you and proceed!" Aiming a ball at Charizard, Ash said, "Charizard return!" After Charizard was recalled, Ash called out, "Pikachu, use Thunderbolt!"

"Unfezant, Sky Attack!" the mysterious grunt called out. Unfezant began glowing brightly with the use of Sky Attack, but Pikachu blasted it with a powerful Thunderbolt, bringing it down to the ground where it laid defeated. The mysterious grunt saw that his Unfezant was down for the count, so he recalled it and sent out a Weavile. "Use Ice Beam!" the mysterious grunt ordered.

"Pikachu, Iron Tail!" Ash commanded. Weavile fired its Ice Beam attack at Pikachu, but with a tail glowing with the shine of polished metal, Pikachu deflected the Ice Beam, then went on to smack Weavile in the face so hard, it sent Weavile flying straight up into the air. "Thunderbolt!" Ash called out, prompting Pikachu to conjure and cast another Thunderbolt which blasted the mysterious grunt's Weavile, knocking it out and dropping it to the ground.

As the mysterious grunt recalled his fainted Weavile, Serena quietly remarked to herself, "That guy's Pokémon seem to be pretty high level for the mere cannon fodder of Team Scorn. Is what Kenny said about him potentially being a special mercenary true...?"

Tossing up another poké ball, the mysterious grunt called out, "Go, Bisharp!" After the grunt sent his Bisharp out, he called out, "Bisharp, use Guillotine!"

"Pikachu, trip it up with Grass Knot!" Ash called out. Bisharp rushed at Pikachu with its hands glowing in preparation to strike Pikachu with overwhelming force. But it did not see the grass blades grow from thr ground and tie themelves into a knot to create a sort of loop that caught its left foot and made it fall over face first onto the ground, saving Pikachu from an otherwise sure defeat. "Pikachu, use Thunderbolt!" Ash called out.

"Bisharp, get up and use Iron Head!" the mysterious grunt commanded.

Bisharp got up as its head shined like polished metal, but as it got up it was blasted by Pikachu's Thunderbolt, damaging it more and even inflicting paralysis. And it was that paralysis that kept Bisharp from carrying out its attack, saving Pikachu a lot of trouble. "Pikachu, Electro Ball!" Ash called out, prompting Pikachu to conjure and cast an Electro Ball attack that flew at the paralyzed Bisharp, striking it right in the face and damaging it enough to knock it out.

The mysterious grunt, as he recalled his fainted Bisharp, took a moment to regard Ash's Pikachu. "...Marvelous," the mysterious grunt said in his gravely voice, "Half my party down to just your Pikachu. The higher ups of Team Scorn are wise indeed to keep tabs on you, Ash Ketchum."

Ash saw that his Pikachu was breathing a bit hard out of fatigue, but he was just a little tired; Pikachu had taken no damage so far, and Ash was hoping to wrap this up before his Pokémon took too much of a beating. If what the mysterious grunt said is true, then Hero and Ayane was just beyond where he was occupying Ash's time. He figured he wouldn't be able to beat Ayane, she has Reshiram and Ash rotated all of his legendary birds out of his party before the Lumiose Conference finals, but he had the potential of beating Hero if his Pokémon were in good enough shape to allow it after beating the mysterious grunt.

Ash just hoped that the rest of the mysterious grunt's Pokémon won't prove to be too big of a problem. A hope that wasn't answered when the mysterious grunt, for his fourth Pokémon, sent out a Metagross. That was irrefutable proof that the mysterious grunt was actually a special mercenary as opposed to a run of the mill cannon fodder member of Team Scorn; no low level real member would have a Pokémon in as high of a pay-grade as a Metagross. Such a Pokémon would more expectedly be found in the party of a Team Scorn Officer at minimum.

Ash did not want to push his Pikachu against a Metagross, so he called Pikachu back and sent his Charizard back out. "I'm not going to give up!" Ash declared to the mysterious grunt, "This battle will see me win and you run off with your tail between your legs!"

"...We shall see," the mysterious grunt replied, getting ready to continue his battle against Ash.

Over at Clemont's lab in Lumiose Tower, Clemont was checking some designs that were obtained in light of the problem with Shiny Clembot back when it was Dark Clembot. "What are you doing, Clemont?" May asked.

"When I was looking at Shiny Clembot when I converted it from Dark Clembot," Clemont began to explain, "I saw signs it could be remotely turned against others. I disabled that feature thus preventing Shiny Clembot from being turned against us, but I did make note of it. Aha!" Clemont stopped when he pulled out a spiral bound pad of paper labeled 'Notes on Shiny Clembot' in legible enough handwriting. "If I can review the parts detailing that remote taking control feature, I can whip up based on those notes a remote that should let us turn the Team Scorn robots against them, or at the very least remote shut off all the robots!"

"The Team Scorn robots do look like Clembot and Shiny Clembot," Bonnie remarked, "Wait, what about Clembot and Shiny Clembot? They're good robots, but they could be affected by the mass shut off remote."

"I disabled the feature in Shiny Clembot," Clemont said, "And Clembot never had it in the first place."

Max nodded in understanding. "So your robots will be safe, but all of Team Scorn's robots all over Lumiose City will be shut down at a minimum."

As Clemont nodded in the affirmative, Bonnie with a worried look on her face said, "Even so, this attack on Lumiose City is Team Scorn's worst one yet. Some of us may not even make it!"

"Bonnie, relax," May reassured Bonnie, "There's no need to worry."

Briskly shaking her head, Bonnie said, "No! We need to do something important now, something that can't wait!"

Arching a wry eyebrow, May said, "Something important? Bonnie, what are you-" May was cut off when Bonnie got down on one knee, as if she were proposing.

"Bonnie, no!" Clemont said, knowing full well what his little sister was about to do, "Now is not the time to ask May to marry me! I need t-"

"May," Bonnie began, cutting Clemont off in the process, "Can I marry your brother?"

...As it turned out, Clemont did NOT know full well what his little sister was about to do. Instead of asking May to marry Clemont himself, Bonnie asked May to let her marry her (May's) younger brother Max. Clemont, May, and especially Max were so surprised by Bonnie's question, their faces all looked like black beady little eyes and small straight line mouths. They were NOT expecting Bonnie to ask that.

"EEEHHH?!" Max cried out in embarrassment, his face lit up red like a holiday light.

"Bonnie, as sweet and adorable as that is," May began, "Now's not exactly the time to ask that."

"Why?" Bonnie asked, "Is it because Max and I are too young?"

Nodding to that point, May said, "Yes, there is that, but I was thinking about-"

"-The fact that the city all of us are in is under attack by Team Scorn," Max began as he listed things off of his fingers, "An army of robots that they brought along, and a trio of Pokémon thought to exist only in lore!"

"Oh come on, Max!" Bonnie insisted, "Our love can overcome anything!"

"BONNIE I AM WORKING!" Clemont bellowed, "NOW IS NOT THE TIME FOR YOU TO BE MARRIAGE-CRAZY!"

The battle against Xerneas was pushing Trip and Deelia, and Trip was figuring that Deelia was only doing as well as it was due to its steel typing covering the weaknesses of its dragon typing. Trip was able to get another special defense drop on Xerneas but with Earth Power, then after Deelia got hit by a solid Moonblast, Trip called for Ice Beam which was able to freeze the mighty stag, buying Trip more time to wear Xerneas down.

If it wasn't for the fact that Xerneas's fairy typing made it immune to dragon attacks, Trip could have dished out a lot more damage by calling for one or two Roar of Time attacks. But that would have left Deelia open to attacks while it was stunned by recoil, Trip realized, and decided that it was probably for the best that Deelia's best attack was useless against Xerneas. Regardless, things were looking like they were getting to the climax.

"Deelia," Trip called out, "Use Flash Cannon!" The named Dialga opened its mouth as it charged up another Flash Cannon attack, taking aim at the frozen Xerneas. When it was ready, Deelia fired its attack, scoring a solid, direct hit on its legendary opponent. The Flash Cannon struck with such force that all ice trapping Xerneas had been busted away, freeing Xerneas although it cried out in great pain, reeling back before it fell to one knee.

Trip saw the mighty stag, saw that it was clearly at the end of its rope. Seeing this as his chance, Trip took the Master Ball he had ready, expanded it, then threw it at Xerneas while shouting, "Go, Master Ball!" The powerful model of poké ball flew at Xerneas, bumped into it, then took it into itself before falling to the ground with a light clink. Trip gulped nervously as he and Deelia watched the Master Ball shake as it worked its magic.

Magic that worked like the charm that it is, as the Master Ball made a click sound that indicated Trip had successfully captured the legendary Pokémon Xerneas. Trip let out a sigh of relief, as did Deelia whose typing made it weak and strong at once against Xerneas. Trip then went over and collected the Master Ball that contained his brand new capture, scanned it with his pokédex to get a lowdown on what all it's got going on.

Trip was amazed that he now had two legendary Pokémon, and both of them big names. Additionally, Xerneas would help him to deal with Ayane and her Reshiram; although Reshiram is part fire, it's still a dragon, so Xerneas's Moonblast will still do some respectable damage. Comparable to how Xerneas's Moonblast had brought the hurt to Deelia to an extent despite its partial steel typing. Trip, thinking about it, had made another major leap.

Looking at the ball that contained the mighty stag, Trip said, "Imma name you Tetsu." The ball containing the now dubbed Tetsu was then sent to where Trip's Pokémon are kept at Professor Oak's lab over in Pallet Town, Kanto. Trip gave a passing thought about how the good professor would be in for a big surprise when he sees that he had been sent by Trip the legendary Pokémon Xerneas of all things. It'll be quite a shock.

Trip then realized that Oak will be in for an even bigger shock when he gets it that Ash has all three legendary birds; all of Ash's catches in Kalos are being kept at Sycamore's lab until Ash's time in Kalos is done. It's also where Ash's Charizard and Steelix, who Ash brought with him and Pikachu, go to while Ash is traveling through the Kalos region. There's also all of the other catches that Ash had scored; Oak will be very amused indeed.

Trip then recalled Deelia, went over to a bench, called out Myde to help cover him in case they're attacked, and sat down on the bench to catch his breath. He had just given a great effort against a great Pokémon, despite how he had a comparably great Pokémon helping him. Trip was going to need to catch his breath, and as he sat to rest, he couldn't help but worry about how Dawn and Kenny were doing against their respective targets.

...

Yveltal, after its Oblivion Wing attack was countered by Tsukune's Spacial Rend, came back down from the air and landed, collapsing over onto the ground. It's injuries aside, the legendary bird of Destruction was still suffering from the poisoning that had been inflicted upon it by Darkrai, who Yveltal saw to some satisfaction was close to the end of its rope. At least Yveltal wouldn't be going down without anything to show for the effort.

Dawn saw that Yveltal was worn out, and she knew she had been able to accomplish it due to using Tsukune and Tobias together at once; either of them would have had a tougher time alone against Yveltal, Tobias especially due to being less bulky. But their teamwork under Dawn's guidance was what allowed them to bring Yveltal to its knees, and end its part in the chaos that was currently engulfing Lumiose City at the moment.

Dawn wanted to know why exactly Yveltal and its fellow Kalos legendaries suddenly showed up to wreak havoc on Lumiose City while Team Scorn was launching its siege on the place. Did Team Scorn somehow lure them in to help add another layer to the chaos for those defending Kalos to deal with? Or did they somehow sense that there was vile human actions going on, and came of their own volition to snuff it out for reasons only they knew?

Regardless, Dawn saw that, with Yveltal brought down, she was in position to bring it under her command. Dawn expanded the Master Ball she had ready and threw it at Yveltal while calling out, "Go, Master Ball!" The Master Ball flew at the legendary bird of Destruction, bumped into it, took it inside, then fell lightly to the ground with a clink before it proceeded to shake around for a few moments, with Dawn watching on nervously.

The Master Ball eventually stopped shaking when it made a click sound that made it clear to Dawn that she had successfully captured the legendary Pokémon Yveltal. She went over to collect the ball that held her newly caught legendary, picked it up and scanned it with her pokédex. Genderless, timid nature, and the Dark Aura ability. Dawn was looking forward to working with her new Yveltal, as she did with all Pokémon she got.

But that would have to wait until later; right now, there was the Team Scorn siege on Lumiose City to handle. Looking at the ball that held her new Yvelta, Dawn said, "I'm naming you Fangfang." The ball was then sent to Oak's lab, where Dawn was figuring that the good professor will be in for quite the shock when he sees that she'd just sent him a legendary Pokémon that's said to be the embodiment of utter destruction.

After Fangfang's ball was sent to Oak's lab, Dawn decided to take a breather. Tsukune and especially Tobias were worn out from the battle, and Dawn doubted that, even though they are from lore, Tsukune and Tobias would be of much help moving forward during the Team Scorn siege on Lumiose City. At the very least, Dawn would be in a lot of trouble if she somehow ran across Ayane during the siege, hence why Dawn took time to apply Full Restores and Max Elixers to Tsukune and Tobias.

...

Kenny was having an experience against Zygarde that was proving to be touch and go; he was able to get a lead thanks to having Black come in while using Dragon Claw, and was then able to get off another Dragon Claw for free because Zygarde tried to use Earth Power without knowing that the named Giratina's Origin Forme gave it the Levitate ability, thus granting Black immunity to ground which as a result saved it from the biting sting of Earth Power.

Then Zygarde tried using Dragon Pulse, scored a hit and saw that it worked on the named Giratina. Knowing that, Zygarde was dishing out all of the Dragon Pulses that it could fire. Kenny decided to change tactics in light of this; he called for Black to use Shadow Force, making it vanish thus depriving Zygarde of a target to take aim at. Black then reappeared as it slammed into Zygarde with Shadow Force, then it made a quick swipe with Dragon Claw.

Eventually, Kenny's efforts against Zygarde had proved to be fortuitous, as the great green serpent was brought down to its metaphorical knees, beaten down by the legendary Pokémon Giratina. Seeing Zygarde laying out on the ground, panting with exhaustion, Kenny seized the opportunity; he took out one of the Master Balls that he got at the Kalos Poké Ball Factory, expanded it, then threw it at Zygarde while shouting out, "Go, Master Ball!"

The Master Ball flew at Zygarde, bumped into it, then took it inside before falling to the ground with a light klink. The Master Ball shook for a few tense moments as Kenny and Black both watched on. However, they were relieved when the Master Ball did what it'd guaranteed to do. The Master Ball made a click sound, indicating that Kenny had just captured the legendary Pokémon Zygarde, adding another big dragon to the cringe posse he's always building.

Going over to collect the ball that held his newly caught Zygarde, Kenny picked the ball up and scanned it with his pokédex. "Hmm, mmm hmm, yes I see," Kenny said aloud as he went over the details on Zygarde, "Very well." Looking to the ball that contained Zygarde, Kenny said, "You shall be dubbed as Porunga, the name of another big and mostly green colored serpentine being of awesome power with a buff upper body. I hope you'll have fun with the rest of us in the cringe posse."

The ball that contained the now dubbed Porunga was then sent to Oak's lab. Kenny, looking energetic as if he didn't just get out of an epic battle with a large and strong legendary Pokémon (truly, Kenny's energy was limitless sometimes), turned to face Black who looked to be running out of steam. Not as bad as when Black had been able to best Ideku's Zekrom during the Lumiose Conference semifinals, but the named Giratina still needed to take a breather.

Stretching his arms into the air, Kenny said, "Yeah Black, you ought to take five. Don't worry, the rest of the crew with us can handle more battling from this point going forward during the siege." Kenny then recalled his named Giratina and proceeded to go about looking for where the rest of the heroes were at. At an absolute minimum, Kenny wanted to meet back up with Dawn and or Trip, figuring that there would be a good amount of safety in numbers.

Kenny also felt that Dawn and Trip would be far more tired after their fights against their respective legendary targets than Kenny was with his.

END, CHAPTER ONE-HUNDRED AND NINETY-SEVEN

Author's notes;

This chapter sees the heroes get involved with helping to fight off the Team Scorn siege on Lumiose City, although the reborn trainers have to go deal with Xerneas, Yveltal, and Zygarde all showing up all at once. Dawn, Kenny, and Trip go after Yveltal, Zygarde, and Xerneas respectively, leaving the Team Scorn grunts and all of the robots to the rest of the heroes. Clemont takes Bonnie, May, and Max with him to his lab, as he's got an idea to help deal with the robots. As for Ash and Serena, they take out some Team Scorn members, although Ash runs afoul of the mysterious grunt who may or may not be interested in battling Ash-Greninja.

As for the legendary battles, Dawn, Kenny, and Trip end up capturing their respective targets after long and hard efforts. Dawn and Trip need to catch their breaths, although Kenny's a lot more perked up. Anyway, this will continue into the next chapter, and fair warning; I may be rushing things, including some future captures, a bit because I wanna try and start up the Alola region shenanigans on the two-hundredth chapter. And those will be an entirely new can of worms when I get to it, but for now the Kalos shenanigans have to be finished. Until then, take care.
