Chapter One-hundred and ninety-eight: The Lumiose Conference (part five)

Charizard and Tyranitar gave pained, mighty cries as they both fell over in defeat. Ash and the mysterious Team Scorn grunt then recalled Charizard and Tyranitar respectively, but Charizard can be realistically said to be the better of the two despite the massive type disadvantage, for Charizard not only took Tyranitar down with it, Charizard had also defeated the mysterious grunt's Metagross beforehand. What other Pokémon can claim that it can take down two pseudo-legendaries back to back, even with the caveat that it had to take the second one down with it?

Ash turned to look back at Serena who stood behind him; she was holding Pikachu for him,and although Pikachu wasn't defeated yet, it was still very exhausted. Turning back to look at his opponent, Ash said, "It looks like you're out of Pokémon. Five of mine are still active, although I'd rather not push my Pikachu."

"...If you decide to push ahead," the mysterious grunt said, "And you do confront Admin Hero and Boss's Assistant Ayane after him, neither of them will be as lenient as you would like. And unless you at a minimum have all three of your legendary Pokémon you were observed using in battle on hand right now, you stand no chance in a battle against Ayane and her mighty dragon." Reaffirming his stance, the mysterious grunt said, "I actually say this for your own good, Ash Ketchum. Turn around and go, consider your victory here over me as reward enough."

Ash was about to step forward, but was cut off by Serena. She whispered into his ear in a worried tone, "That mercenary has a point, Ash. I don't think it's a wise idea for you to try to challenge Ayane, especially with essentially a third of your party out of commission."

The boy from Pallet Town considered his options. He actually didn't have any of his legendary birds in his on hand team; Charizard was down, Pikachu was worn out, and his other on hand Pokémon were not good match-ups at all against Ayane's Reshiram. And there's the fact that Admin Hero will obviously get in Ash's way before he was able to challenge the right hand girl of the Boss of Team Scorn. Ash, as much as his heroic instincts were driving him, knew that the odds were way too against his favor to push through, so he relented.

Stepping back, Ash said to the mysterious grunt, "...Dawn, Kenny, and Trip will be hearing about this." Ash then turned around and left with Serena, leaving behind the mysterious grunt.

After Ash and Serena were both gone, the mysterious grunt let out a sigh of relief. In truth, the mysterious grunt was Alain, the Mega Charizard X user, and he did not want to have to risk continuing his battle against Ash and Serena. If Ash tried to push, then due to orders from Admin Hero, Alain would have to continue fighting to the bitter end, and that would mean he'd have to whip out his Charizard and Mega Evolve it. That would be a dead giveaway to his true identity, and Alain did not want to have to expose who he is. Not while Mairin still needed to be rescued.

Alain hoped that this would be the last effort he would have to give before Team Scorn decided that he had done enough and released him from their service while also releasing Mairin to his custody. Once Alain had Mairin back, he was getting her, as well as himself, as far away from Team Scorn's area of influence as possible. He didn't want to be buddy-buddy with Team Scorn anymore, but so long as Team Scorn had Mairin in their clutches, he had no choice but to comply with what they want, lest they decide to hurt her as a punishment to him.

Alain knew full well he'd never be able to live with himself if Team Scorn hurt Mairin because of him.

Over at Prism Tower, Clemont, May, Bonnie, and Max were rushing to the top of the tower. Clemont had discovered that he was indeed able to make a remote device that would send a signal that would hack the programming of the Team Scorn robots. Granted, he only had time to make it so that the signal would shut the robots down, as opposed to taking control of the robots which he originally wanted, but time was of the essence. The four of them rushed up, with Clemont saying that the top of Prism Tower would provide the best height for sending out the signal to shut down the Team Scorn robots.

"So all that your brother has to do is activate the remote once he sees it has a good enough signal?" May asked as she looked down at Bonnie.

Nodding once, Bonnie replied, "Yeah huh, my big brother's a genius! He's got girls coming to him for days! He'll get a wife soon, don't you doubt that!"

"Bonnie, please don't talk about finding me a wife right now," Clemont said, "I need to focus on the remote, I need to keep an eye on it to see when the signal's strong enough to send out the mass shut down order!"

Max, regarding Bonnie, remarked, "You know Bonnie, your apparent habit of trying to find a wife for your brother is kind of an inverse of me, May's, and Ash's friend Brock. He's always trying to flirt with girls."

"Well my big brother won't take initiative himself, so I'm doing it for him," Bonnie replied, "Oh, but he can't marry your sister because it'll mean I won't be able to marry you."

"Hoo boy, I'm glad me and May's parents aren't around to hear you say that you wanna marry me," Max said, "They'd tease me to no end. I'm pretty sure May's gonna tease me about it anyway."

"Well it is pretty adorable, Max," May remarked, a slightly amused look on her face.

Bonnie was about to speak up, but she was cut off when she heard a roaring sound coming from a distance away. It was then followed by a wooshing sound, and then Bonnie, May, Max, and Clemont who quickly held the remote close to him thus saving it from being dropped all nearly tumbled when it felt as if the whole of Prism Tower was struck by an attack just now. Clemont and the others felt the shaking came from the side of Prism Tower opposite of the side of the large antenna they all stood behind, so they peeked around to see what it was.

To their fright, they spotted the legendary Pokémon Reshiram in the distance, and when they saw it the Vast White dragon was conjuring a Fusion Flare attack that it then cast at one of the legs of Prism Tower, shaking the whole of the building again. "Ayane's having Reshiram attack Prism Tower?!" Bonnie exclaimed in a panic.

"From the looks of it, she must be having it focus on one of the four legs," Clemont said, "If she does enough damage to one of the legs, Ayane could take it out entirely, which will then most likely cause Prism Tower as a whole to collapse!"

"While we're at the very top of the tower!" May exclaimed in a clear panic.

"I don't wanna die!" Bonnie cried, "I still haven't married Max yet!"

"Priorities, Bonnie!" Clemont yelled, "We need to-" Clemont stopped short when he saw that his remote had the signal necessary. Without wasting any time, Clemont activated the remote, sending out the signal that would shut down all of the Team Scorn robots. "There!" Clemont said, "That should deprive Team Scorn of a lot of the foot soldiers they have out there down in the str-"

*FWHOOM*

*BOOM*

*RUMBLE*

Clemont was cut off again when another Fusion Flare flew at the leg of Prism Tower that Ayane was having Reshiram aim at. Clemont, May, Bonnie, and Max then felt Prism Tower shake beneath their feet, as well as lean ever so slightly to one side. Soon enough, the four of them began to slip, and Bonnie fell over and began to slide down the roof until she fell off the edge, making the others especially Clemont cry out for Bonnie, fearing the worst for the little girl who only wanted to find a wife for her brother, as well as make May's brother her own husband.

But then Darkrai came floating up quickly, carrying Bonnie tucked under its left arm as if she were a sack of potatoes that Darkrai was carrying. Darkrai then grabbed Max and carried him as well, then Dawn riding on her Palkia's back rose up and yelled at Clemont and May, "Get on! Prism Tower is collapsing!" Not wasting any time, May and Clemont got onto Tsukune's back and rode with Dawn to a safe area on the ground, where Tobias carrying Bonnie and Max met them. They landed opposite of the side that Prism Tower ended up falling down on.

The entirety of the surrounding area shook with the fall of Prism Tower, setting looks of horrified despair on the faces of Clemont and Bonnie. May and Max likewise looked on with horrified looks, and Dawn's expression was one of grim anger. "...This has got to be bar none the worse attack yet launched by Team Scorn," Dawn said. Turning to look at the others, Dawn asked, "I would like to know what the four of you were all doing up on the top of Prism Tower."

"Clemont was able to figure out how to hack the programming of the Team Scorn robots," Bonnie said, "He invented a remote that would send out a signal to shut the robots down, but he needed to be as high up as possible to get the best range."

Dawn nodded in understanding. "That would explain why I saw a bunch of robots collapsing in the streets while I was rushing over here when I saw the huge pillar of smoke rise up from the area of Prism Tower." Dawn gently shook her head. "I was not expecting to have to do this just after using medicines to perk Tsukune and Tobias back up after they helped me with capturing Yveltal."

"You caught Yveltal?" Clemont practically exclaimed.

Dawn nodded in confirmation. "I did, yeah. Kind of wished I had the foresight to add Fangfang to my party and send one of my on hand Pokémon to Oak's lab, rather than just send Fangfang straight to Oak. It would have come in han-"

*ROAR*

Dawn was cut off when she and the others heard Reshiram cry out. They turned to look, but saw that Reshiram was taking off rather than head straight for them; Dawn also spotted Ayane on Reshiram's back. "...So she's taking off after taking down Prism Tower," Dawn scoffed, "Typical."

"I..." Clemont said, "...I think that all Ayane wanted to do was bring Prism Tower down." Smoke and dust rose into the air, sirens were going off, even small flames dotted the rubble remains of the fallen Prism Tower. Things had gotten chaotic to the point that Dawn and her group with her felt that Team Scorn had gone well beyond the pale, that this went far beyond being a mere act of terror. No, the multi-region spanning criminal organization, with their acts here in Kalos with the bringing down of Prism Tower being the cherry on top, were making one thing clear to the rest of the world.

Team Scorn was declaring war.

Trip was being carried by Todoroki, his named alpha Hisuian Goodra, as he was still a little winded from the effort he and Deelia gave in the battle against Xerneas, who Trip ended up capturing. He would have continued to rest, but he heard, as well as felt, something big come crashing down over in the direction of Prism Tower. When he looked in that direction, Trip saw that Prism Tower, which could be seen from anywhere outside in Lumiose City if you look towards the center of the city, wasn't standing tall, proud, and erect in Lumiose City's center.

Instead, Trip saw smoke and some flames rise up in that area instead. Worried, Trip decided to head straight over, but was too tired to go on foot. Hence he was riding on Todoroki. As Trip rode towards the carnage, he heard Kenny call out, "Oi, Dawn's bro!" Trip had Todoroki stop and turn to see Kenny come running up. "I'm hearing reports coming from the center of Lumiose city that Prism Tower has just collapsed!" Kenny said, "The reports further go on to say that a big white dragon was firing big spheres of fire at one of the tower's legs, and when that leg was taken out, it caused the tower to fall over and collapse!"

Trip was shocked, as well as looking a little horrified, by the news Kenny told him. "...Ayane took down Prism Tower?" Briskly shaking his head, Trip asked, "Was anyone inside the tower at the time?"

"According to Clemont who I called after hearing about what happened," Kenny began, "The only ones in Prism Tower at the time were himself, Bonnie, May, and Max. Not even Clemont's own robots, or any of the Pokémon that were kept there as it was also the gym, were at the tower at the time. Clemont had figured out a way to shut down Team Scorn's robots, and he made a remote that would send out a signal to do so, but it required him to achieve maximum height to get maximum distance. Hence why he, Bonnie, May, and Max were all at the very top of Prism Tower when Ayane was having Reshiram lob Fusion Flares at one of the legs to bring it down."

"Are they all okay?!" Trip exclaimed.

"Yes, Dawn came in like a boss and rescued all of them," Kenny replied, "Also Dawn saw signs that Clemont's efforts paid off as many Team Scorn robots were spotted lying in the streets deactivated. Dawn even saw a few shut down in the process of zooming over with Tsukune and Tobias after she had caught Yveltal."

Trip let out a relieved sigh. "That's good to hear. Also, it doesn't surprise me that Dawn caught Yveltal. I just got off of catching Xerneas."

Kenny let out an amused chuckle. "And I just added Zygarde to the cringe posse."

Arching a wry eyebrow at Kenny, Trip said, "You aren't showing anywhere near as much exhaustion as you should."

"I run on a clean, self-sustaining energy," Kenny replied.

Gently shaking his head while thinking that Kenny was referring to the power of cringe, Trip said, "Whatever. Anyway, we need to get to the area of Prism Tower. There's bound to be people in that area who need our help." Kenny nodded in agreement, and proceeded to run alongside Trip and Todoroki as they made their way to the center of Lumiose City.

Ash and Serena were beyond shocked and horrified to hear it from Diantha when she along with Trevor, Tierno, and Shauna caught up to them that Team Scorn had just collapsed Prism Tower, causing untold damage to the center of Lumiose City. Ash and Serena were relieved to hear it that Dawn, Clemont, Bonnie, May, and Max who were all in that area are unharmed, and that Dawn had actually saved the other four when the tower began balling over due to one of its legs being taken out; the four aside from Dawn were at the very top of Prism Tower at the time as part of Clemont's plot to bring down Team Scorn's robots.

"Wait a minute," Trevor said, "I was told that Dawn was dealing with Yveltal who appeared. Since Dawn had rushed over and saved Clemont's group, does that mean she finished dealing with Yveltal? Or did she abandon the battle against Yveltal when she heard Prism Tower was collapsing?"

Gently shaking her head, Diantha explained, "When she told me about what happened over the phone, Champion Dawn explained that she had caught Yveltal before rushing over to Prism Tower when she saw smoke rising from that direction. She didn't even know Clemont's group was over there at the top of the tower until she saw Bonnie fall from the top when the tower began to fall over. Dawn's Darkrai flew in and scooped Bonnie up, saving her life in the process."

Serena let out a relieved sigh, even holding a hand over her chest in a relieved gesture. "Oh thank goodness for that," Serena said, "I don't wanna even think about what could of happened if Dawn didn't have her Darkrai with her...!"

"And she also did that rescue after coming off of capturing Yveltal," Trevor pointed out, "A legendary Pokémon that I would say is comparable in power to Dawn's Palkia." Gently shaking his head, Trevor said, "You know, one would figure that Dawn would be too exhausted after coming off of such an effort to do much of anything else after the fact."

Gently shaking his head, Ash said, "The need is just that great, Trevor."

Clapping her hands together, Diantha said, "I also heard reports that Trip and Kenny have successfully dealt with Xerneas and Zygarde respectively. With them and Yveltal out of the way and Team Scorn's robots all shut down, that just leaves the human members of Team Scorn." To Ash and the others, Diantha said, "You all rest up now. The gym leaders of Kalos are in Lumiose City right now, and they're helping to push back Team Scorn. You kids, as well as Champion Dawn and the others, have done more than enough."

...

Numerous Pokémon belonging to members of Team Scorn were thrown back in defeat as the gym leaders of Kalos, aside from Clemont who was at the ruins of Prism Tower, came together to help fend off Team Scorn. The last few Pokémon owned by Team Scorn, Xander's Escavalier and Jun's second Scyther, were thrown back by Korrina's Lucario and Wulfric's Abomasnow, both of which were Mega Evolved at the time. The two Captains of Team Scorn's Shield Sector were forced to call back their respective defeated Pokémon as the gym leaders stood victoriously before them.

"Your villainy today ends here, Team Scorn!" Wulfric barked, "You all will be brought to trial and made to answer for the mass terror that you have just rained down upon the Kalos region!"

"Is that so, Fatso?" Jun barked.

"I'm well insulated against the cold!" Wulfric barked, looking a tad annoyed with his weight being called into question.

Holding his hands out at his sides, Xander said, "Look around you, gym leaders! Even if Team Scorn is defeated here and forced to fall back, the damage is already done! This is what happens when the rest of the world at large doesn't roll over when Team Scorn says and lets us do what we want, when we want, how we want! Team Scorn is going to ultimately win in the end anyway, so why fight fate?"

"Obviously villains like you don't understand that so long as one person stands against villainy," Olympia said, "Said villainy will never truly win! We won't give up! We won't give in! We won't surrender! All that you have accomplished today with your vile act of terrorism will be uniting the regions of the world together in the effort to bring your evil organization down for good!"

Jun chuckled a bit in amusement. "Ho?" Jun said, "You really think that Team Scorn will be stopped in the end? That must mean that you really are as foolish as what's implied by that cliche hero speech you just gave. But more on that later. For now, I suggest that you would-be heroes go about helping with rescue efforts. It's not just Prism Tower that's in ruins now, there's loads of wreckage all over Lumiose City."

"You young whippersnappers aren't going anywhere!" Ramos barked out.

Arching a wry eyebrow in confusion, Jun said, "Who still uses the word 'whippersnappers' anymore? And before you and the others try to stop us from leaving old man, let me ask you this." Gesturing all around to point out the ruins surrounding everyone, Jun said, "Isn't it logical to assume that the more time you waste in vain trying to stop Team Scorn from leaving, the less time there is to get to trapped survivors hidden under the ruins before they croak?"

Ramos took a step back, realizing that Jun had a point. Some of the Team Scorn grunts had some Houndours use Flamethrower on the ground to create a wall of flames that gave all of Team Scorn who were there the cover they needed to escape. After the gym leaders lowered their arms, they saw that all of Team Scorn there had taken off, getting away in the process. Despite Team Scorn being defeated in battle, they all evaded capture afterwards, and there's still the fact that they successfully carried out a massive attack on Lumiose City, which among other things saw the collapse of Prism Tower.

But as this was Team Scorn's worst act to date, it will inevitably have the effect of uniting the regions of the world more than ever against Team Scorn's evil.

The morning following the attack, the heroes and their friends all woke up to news reports from various regions all over the world commenting on Team Scorn's attack on Lumiose City, with the attack's cherry on top being the collapse of Prism Tower. There was also a current death toll of one-hundred and seven, far lower than what Dawn had been expecting given the scale of the attack, although experts are estimating the number will rise after all necessary clean up and rescue work has been taken care of. Speaking of, the heroes lent aid when and where they could, and it was aid greatly appreciated.

In particular, Dawn, Kenny, and Trip used the legendary Pokémon they respectively caught during the attack on Lumiose City to help with efforts. Dawn had Fangfang use Psychic to levitate big hunks of rubble up so that clean up and rescue work was sped up. Kenny had Porunga burrow around through rubble, breaking it up and making it easier to pick up (smaller lighter pieces) for the human workers, also Porunga had located a few trapped survivors. Trip had Tetsu break up other large hunks of rubble, making clearing said rubble away easier as the hunks were in smaller, more easily managed sizes.

During the cleanup efforts, Kenny saved a cute but geeky looking super obese girl whose outfit denoted she worked with wildlife; an hour after he and Porunga pulled the fat nerd out of the rubble, Kenny was met up by the fat nerd's handsome, physically fit young adult older brother who looked dressed in a manner similar to the fat nerd. The handsome wildlife worker had with him a Winter form Sawsbuck that he was leading. "You're Kenny Harris, the one who saved my younger sister Yoshino, right?" the wildlife worker said.

"I am," Kenny replied, "Well I saved a fat girl who looks like she works with wildlife similar to how you look like you work with wildlife."

Nodding once in understanding, the young man said, "Yeah, Yoshino was spoiled too much by our mom and aunt growing up, always supplying her with treats and the like, and it led to her obesity in her mid teens today. But that's besides the point." Gesturing to himself, the young adult said, "My name is Shikamaru, and my family works with and manages a herd of Deerlings and Sawsbucks kept in captivity to research their seasonal forms, also researching the ways the leaves and antlers that come from Sawsbucks can be used to make medicines."

"Oh, Korrina said her grandfather is treating his arthritis with a medicine made using leaves from summer form Sawsbucks antlers," Diantha remarked.

Nodding once in understanding, the now identified Shikamaru said, "Yes, that is one application for the leaves from summer form Sawsbucks. But that's beside the point here." To Kenny, Shikamaru said, "My family is truly grateful to you for saving Yoshino's life, and as thanks we want to give you one of the Sawsbucks we raise over at our preserve in the forests of Kalos." Stepping to the side and gesturing to the Winter form Sawsbuck be brought with him, Shikamaru said, "This is the Sawsbuck in question, a male Winter form."

Pumping a fist into the air, Kenny cried out, "Sweet! I get a Sawsbuck!" Kenny accepted the Sawsbuck from Shikamaru who, after thanking Kenny again for saving his sister, took his leave. Kenny, after checking Sawsbuck's details out with his pokédex, ended up naming him Moo. Kenny had to send the now dubbed Moo to Oak's lab as he didn't have time to get right to working with Moo. There was still clean up and rescue efforts to be done, and it was looking to be taking a while.

For obvious reasons, the rest of the Lumiose Conference had to be canceled, meaning it ultimately ended with inconclusive results. However, in a special ceremony, Dawn and the rest of the heroes were each awarded an Honor of Kalos medal, with the ceremony proceeded over by Diantha and Sycamore. And it wasn't just the main seven heroes in Kalos who earned medals; the three Kalos friendly rivals, as well as May and Max, each got one as well, for all of them had given great efforts both when the attack was going down and afterwards with helping out with clean up and rescue.

After the award ceremony, the heroes had a big party at the house where Clemont and Bonnie lived with their dad; Clembot and Shiny Clembot, as well as all of Clemont's Pokémon normally kept at the gym in Prism Tower, were all at Clemont's family's house at the time Prism Tower was taken down, with Clemont saying that they needed to be out of the way as the gym was doing some renovations. Bonnie darkly joked that the renovations were obviously going to be delayed, considering that Prism Tower had been collapsed.

All of the heroes were in the backyard having a party, during which Serena's Pancham got into a fight with Kenny's named Pancham Panda. Goofy, Kenny's named Houndoom, tried to get the two to break it up, but Serena's Pancham smacked Goofy in the face to make him back off. Seeing one of his party members smacked like that sent Panda into a rage, and from it he surprised everyone at the party when he began to evolve; by the time the process had finished, Panda had evolved into a Pangoro who, using his new size to his advantage, grabbed Pancham by the head, picked him up, and held him to face level with him before giving a single snarl.

Serena's Pancham got the idea at that point, and was immediately apologetic both to Panda, and then to Goofy after Panda put him back down. The heroes were worried that Panda may prove aggressive, but were relieved when Panda calmed down once Serena's Pancham got the idea to back off. Moo, who Kenny rotated into the party, helped to further calm Panda down, and ended up striking something of a friendship with the named Pangoro. The heroes were even amused to see it when Panda put an arm over Moo's shoulders and laughed in good cheer, a gesture Moo returned, making it clear he and Panda had become bros.

The party was interrupted when Palermo arrived, claiming she was looking for Serena. According to Palermo, due to the recent attack by Team Scorn on Lumiose City, that combined with how Team Scorn had also attacked Gloire City during the Master Class Showcase (as well as the judging scandal Palermo's a part of but she left that part unsaid), Pokémon Showcase events were going to be shut down for the foreseeable future, at least until Gloire City and Lumiose City finished repairs and also got security properly updated (also until the heat from the judging scandal dies down, but again it went unsaid).

"Normally, I would recommend that you seek out training by competing in the Contests held in Hoenn," Palermo began, "But Hoenn, in addition to its current financial crisis as well as how it's struggling with Team Scorn about as much as Kalos, is now reported to be struggling with bizarre weather patterns."

"Bizarre weather patterns in Hoenn?" Serena repeated.

Palermo nodded in the affirmative. "It is for that reason that I instead recommend you seek out further performing training in the Alola region."

"Why Alola?" Dawn spoke up, surprised to hear that Palermo was recommending Serena that she go to Alola next; business in Kalos was about done for the heroes, and that meant they'd wind up in Alola next. Would that mean that Serena would go with the reborn trainers and Ash?

Palermo offered Dawn an amused smirk. "Actually, Champion Dawn, you and your adopted brother's mom Johanna is the reason why. She, along with a friend of hers named Lila, is bringing Pokémon Contests to the Alola region. The upcoming season will see Alola's first Top Coordinator ever being crowned." Palermo turned her focus back to Serena, offered her a warm but knowing amused smile. "Wouldn't it be something indeed if you became Alola's first Top Coordinator, Serena?"

Serena looked down at her place at the picnic table she sat at. "...Actually, trying out the Contests being brought to Alola does sound feasible for me, given that my mom said she's moving us to the Alola region."

"You're moving to Alola?" Bonnie asked, surprised.

Nodding once in the affirmative, Serena said, "My mom says Kalos is too dangerous right now. also, she's still hurting over the death of Grand Duchess Sabine, who was a close friend of hers. My mom has, however, been able to perk herself back up with talk of introducing Rhyhorn Racing to Alola."

Smiling a bit, Ash said, "Well Alola does sound like a nice place. Maybe I'll go there myself. Oh!" To the rest of the heroes, Ash said, "I ran into Alain before we came here for the party. He looked really relieved when he introduced a young girl with him as Mairin, saying he was able to free her from her debt. Alain told me that he and Mairin are going to be sticking closely with Professor Sycamore for the foreseeable future, as he doesn't want to risk anything bad happening to Mairin anymore. I'm glad that Alain was able to get that sorted out."

Standing up from his seat, Kenny declared, "Well alright! It sounds like all of our business here in Kalos is wrapping up! It also sounds like Alola will be the next stop on our travels, so I say we rest up, go home for a bit, then reconvene in Alola where-"

Kenny was cut off when a helicopter flew overhead, and the heroes heard Champion Steven of Hoenn call out, "Champion Dawn! There you are!"

"Steven's looking for me?" Dawn asked aloud as she and the others ran outside where Steven's helicopter landed. Obviously there was an emergency of great need if Steven was going through so much trouble to get a hold of Dawn. But given what the heroes had just helped to settle in Lumiose City, Dawn as well as Kenny and Trip were betting that whatever Steven needed help with wouldn't be too big of an issue.

...

Dawn, Kenny, and Trip were proven wrong when Steven told them the news he brought. "You heard the reports of the crazy weather patterns occurring in Hoenn, right?" Steven began, "Yeah, it's due to the fact that the legendary Pokémon Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza have all awoken and are now going on rampages."

"Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza?!" the heroes all exclaimed in unison.

Steven nodded once in the affirmative. "I came here seeking out Champion Dawn, as well as her companions Kenny and Trip, given that they're the only ones I know of with Pokémon powerful enough to contend with the likes of Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza." To the reborn trainer, Steven said, "Dawn, Kenny, Trip, I beg of you. Please come with me to Hoenn to help quell Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza."

Shrugging, Kenny replied, "Well I don't see why we should say no. We can meet up with our friends headed to Alola after the fact."

Trip had a contemplative look on his face. "...I heard some bits about Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza in legends. Kyogre can bring about heavy rains, right?"

"It's got the area of Mossdeep City under heavy downpours," Steven replied, "Similarly, Groudon's got the area near Fallarbor Town under strong sunlight that's causing a heat wave and something of a drought, and the area near Pacificlog Town is under constant strong winds due to how Rayquaza had been spotted near the top of Sky Pillar which is located nearby."

Trip nodded in understanding. Turning to look at Dawn and Kenny, Trip said, "You guys, we need to go to Hoenn and deal with this. I'll help quell Kyogre, Dawn you go quell Groudon, and Kenny you go quell Rayquaza."

Dawn could tell that Trip was seeing this as the other parts of the updated visions Olympia had about the three of them earlier. Dawn figured that the life, destruction, and order parts of the visions referred to Xerneas, Yveltal, and Zygarde respectively. And now, the rains, droughts, and winds parts could be seen as referring to Kyogre, Groudon, and Rayquaza respectively. The reborn trainers had barely finished resting after confronting major legendary Pokémon, but now they had to go right back in and confront another major trio of legends.

They all planned to enjoy their time in Alola to the fullest; it's the perfect region to go to on vacation.

END, CHAPTER ONE-HUNDRED AND NINETY-EIGHT

Author's notes;

This chapter sees the chaos that Team Scorn inflicted upon Lumiose City wrap up, with Ash defeating the mysterious grunt, never learning it's actually Alain, before turning back because the grunt warned him he stood no chance against Ayane. Clemont is able to shut down the Team Scorn robots with his remote, but he as well as Bonnie, May, and Max are put into great peril when Reshiram's used to take out one of the legs of Prism Tower, making it collapse entirely as a result. Dawn's able to save all of them from a terrible fate, however.

Then Team Scorn is driven out of Lumiose City by the gym leaders of Kalos, but not before Team Scorn tells them that, in the end, Team Scorn will be the ones on top of all that there is. After the attack is over, clean up and rescue work is begun. The heroes each get an Honor of Kalos medal, and plans involving the region after Kalos, Alola, are discussed, with the revelation that Serena and her mom are moving to Alola. Things are cut off, however, when Hoenn Champion Steven shows up looking for Dawn, Kenny, and Trip for a very important reason.

That reason being that Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza have awoken and are going on rampages in Hoenn. As the only ones Steven could think of who have the means to combat the super-ancient weather trio, Dawn, Kenny, and Trip are being volunteered for the job of quelling Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza. Deciding to put their down time in Alola off until after a quick trip to Hoenn, the reborn trainers agree to go, with Trip seeing this as the other part of the vision that Olympia had a while ago.
