Pokémon: Sinnoh no Isekai
Chapter Two-hundred: Gotta love that Alolan heat!
It has been a week since Dawn, Trip, and Kenny arrived in the Alola region, arriving ahead of when they were expecting Ash and Serena to pop up. The reason for this is because Johanna, the mom of Dawn and adoptive mom of Trip, plus Johanna's friend Lila, arrived in Alola in order to speak to certain persons about getting Alola's Pokémon Contest scene established. In an interesting twist, Kenny's mom and little sister also came along, joining up for something of a vacation. According to what the Berlitz siblings got on the matter from Kenny, his mom was celebrating something he wasn't allowed to disclose at the time.
The reborn trainers were finally happy to have a notable chunk of down time, which they dedicated to getting their new Pokémon trained up. They found a secluded but large open area in which to train their new catches as of late, given that a lot of them are big name legendary Pokémon. Over the few days since arriving in Alola, Dawn and the boys were able to get their new catches to master a respectable selection of attacks. Kenny also took time to get Panda, his now Pangoro, used to his new form, and also trained Moo, his Sawsbuck who quickly got used to being in the cringe posse.
Dawn also took time to train Lincoln, her Latios who she caught in Hoenn. In the original GBA Hoenn games, Latios was a pain to catch as it was a roaming Pokémon, but the ORAS remakes made it far easier as you get it (or Latias depending on version) more or less just handed to you, and in between the normal and flying badges. Lincoln had proven similarly as easy, as all Dawn had to do to catch him was make him lunch. Even though he is a legendary, the named Latios apparently still has a bit of a fondness for sandwiches. Never underestimate the power of a good sandwich; it can (apparently) tame even legendary dragons.
After their first week in Alola had passed, the reborn trainers were now taking time off to relax on the beach. This saw Kenny watch as his little sister play with Jibanyan and Hovernyan as they made a sand castle together, Trip watch Fourze and Mr. Popo argue over a fruity drunk in a coconut with a straw and mini umbrella, and Dawn lounged on the beach with Chi-Chi on her left and Lincoln on her right. Dawn and her Pokémon all laid on their stomachs while facing the same direction, and Chi-Chi had even fallen asleep, the named Infernape was that relaxed. As Dawn and her Pokémon relaxed, they were approached by Kenny's little sister.
"Hey Dawn," Kenny's sister began, "Can Kenny's kitty Pokémon and I ride your blue dragon Pokémon there?"
"Young lady, Lincoln is relaxing with Chi-Chi and I," Dawn said, "Also, did you ask Kenny if you can take his Pokémon on a ride with you?"
"Umm... yes?" Kenny's sister replied, although Dawn could tell full well the young child was lying.
Dawn was about to gently scold Kenny's sister, but got cut off when she and the others heard the familiar voice of Serena cry out in panic out on the water, followed by hearing someone splash out there. Looking over, the reborn trainers saw that a ride Sharpedo had wandered off after its rider was thrown off, and also saw Serena out in the water trying to keep afloat. "Lincoln, we're going to fly out over the water!" Dawn said as she roused her named Latios from his nap. Dawn hopped onto Lincoln's back and flew him out over the waters, getting close to where Serena was struggling.
"Lincoln, lift her out of the water with Psychic!" Dawn said, prompting Lincoln to use Psychic, his eyes glowing with psychic power. The same power surrounded Serena's struggling form and lifted her out of the water. When she realized she was no longer in danger of drowning, Serena saw that she had been saved by Dawn
"Oh, Dawn!" Serena said, "You made it to Alola! Umm... thanks for the save, by the wa-"
"Serena, are you okay?" Ash's voice called out, making Dawn lean to the side to see Ash ride up on another Ride Sharpedo. "Thank goodness for that girl who hey it's Dawn!" Ash went on, going on until he stopped short upon realizing that Dawn had shown up.
...
Over on the beach, Ash and Serena properly met up with the reborn trainers again. Ash and Serena, after explaining how the latter had just settled into her new home in the Alola region, expressed amazement that Dawn had caught Latios. The heroes were met up by Delia and Grace, both of whom were relaxing at a nearby hotel until they got it Serena had fallen off of the Ride Sharpedo she was on and came rushing over. The Ride Sharpedo that Serena fell off of was corralled, and it turned out that Serena's seat she was on was faulty, which allowed for her to fall off.
Grace, thankful her daughter was okay, hugged Dawn out of gratitude. Grace also petted Lincoln on the side of his head for helping to save Serena. Grace said she was going to talk to the persons managing the Ride Sharpedo attraction so she could grill them for putting her daughter on a Ride Sharpedo with a faulty seat, leaving Serena with Delia and Ash. As Grace went to be a mom angry over her kid being endangered by negligence, Delia turned to look at Ash and Serena. "Well, while Grace gives those negligent people what's what, we ought to deliver the Pokémon Egg to Professor Oak's cousin who lives here in Alola, as Oak had asked us to."
"You guys are delivering an egg?" Kenny asked.
Looking like he remembered something, Ash said, "Oh yeah! Professor Oak has a cousin living here in Alola, and my mom and I were given an egg by Professor Oak that he asked us to deliver to his cousin while we were here in Alola on a vacation we won thanks to Mimey." Mimey, the Mr. Mime who hung with Delia, came over and gave a cheering greeting.
"Where are you guys taking it to?" Dawn asked.
"The Pokémon Trainer School," Delia replied, "Why do you ask?"
"Hey wait, me and Dawn's mom said something about having us go there," Trip said, "Also Kenny's mom wants him to go there too. We have no idea where it is, though."
"Then come along with us," Delia said, "We're heading there right now." The reborn trainers all agreed and, after recalling all of their Pokémon that were out, they joined Delia, Ash, and Serena after Kenny took his little sister back to their mom. Kenny's mom, as well as Johanna, agreed to let Delia take Kenny and the Berlitz siblings to the Pokémon Trainer School. With that taken care of, the trip to school was a go.
Given the bigger number of people going along, things inside the Taxi were a bit tight, so to save space Mimey was recalled, Delia sat in the front with the driver in the passenger side seat, the boys and Serena all sat in the back with Serena on Ash's lap (Trip was jealous of Serena for that), and Dawn rode outside next to the Taxi as she flew on Lincoln. The rear window next to the back seat behind Delia, with Kenny in that back seat, was rolled down, letting Dawn talk to the others in the cab.
Seeing Pikachu sitting on Ash's shoulder, Dawn said, "So Ash, did you bring just Pikachu with you to Alola?"
"No, I also brought Greninja and Goodra with me," Ash replied, "All of the other Pokémon I used in Kalos were sent to Professor Oak's lab."
"Let me tell you kids, Professor Oak was taken aback by all of the amazing Pokémon you had caught and sent to his lab," Delia said, "Nearly made his heart give out from shock."
To Serena, Trip asked, "And what of you, Serena? What Pokémon of yours did you bring?"
"All of them," Serena said, "But then again my mom and I DID move to Alola. Also I only have Braixen, Pancham, Sylveon, and Phantump." Looking to Kenny, Trip, and Dawn, Serena went on, "So what of you guys? What all are you doing here in Alola?"
"To be honest, we're trying to relax," Kenny said, "The last few region-spanning adventures we've had had taken a bit out of us, so we wanna rest up from that, as well as cover training for some of our new Pokémon. I think my mom said having me attend the trainer school we're going to is being done in part to help me unwind." Dawn and Trip both nodded in agreement, signifying that their mom has a similar mindset.
"Oh yeah, I think that our time in Kalos was especially jarring overall," Ash said, "Given what all we had to fight against. I bet Alola will be a nice and steady change of pace." Turning to look at Serena who was sitting on his lap, Ash asked, "Hey Serena, aren't you looking forward to the Pokémon Contest circuit here in Alola that Dawn and Trip's mom is getting set up?"
Nodding in confirmation, Serena said, "Oh yes, and I'm totally going to win it! I got it that Coordinators who win it big in Contests are called Top Coordinators, so I'm going to be Alola's first Top Coordinator!"
"Actually," Dawn said, "Me and Trip's mom said that, due to wanting to appeal to the local culture in Alola, Coordinators who win big final Contest tournaments here in Alola will be called Contest Kahunas. It's the same thing as Top Coordinators, but with a name that reflects the flavor of Alolan culture."
Serena nodded in understanding. "Then I'll be Alola's first Contest Kahuna."
Ash was about to speak up, but was cut off when the taxi driver said, "Here we are! The Pokémon School!" The taxi came to a stop, and Dawn upon seeing that had Lincoln stop. The school is just like what Dawn, Kenny, and Trip remembered seeing in the anime in their previous lives, and now they would be attending classes here. Dawn wasn't sure of Kenny's education status back in their previous life, but Dawn knew she was a college graduate and that Trip was still in high school. That being said, Dawn was figuring she might have a bit of a touch and go experience settling back into school life, even though it will be flavored with a Pokémon ascetic.
But school life right now sounded like a vacation compared to the last few regions.
...
Inside of the school, the heroes watched as Delia handed the Pokémon egg to Samson Oak, who is Professor Oak's cousin. The heroes also learned that Samson is the principal of the school. After Samson got the egg from Delia, he turned his attention to the heroes. "I already got it from Dawn and Trip's mom, as well as Kenny's mom, that you three will be enrolled here," Samson said, "And that Serena's mom also plans to have Serena attend classes here. There's still some issues your respective moms will have to sort out before you all are enrolled, but until then you can take a tour around the school."
"Oh Ash, you should go with them," Delia said, "I bet you'll have fun too."
Ash nodded in agreement, a gesture mimiced by Pikachu. "Yeah, it'll be fun I bet." Just as the heroes were about to leave, the door to Samson's office opened, and in walked Mallow, who the reborn trainers recognized from the anime and games in their previous life. The girl seemed notably concerned.
"Mallow?" Samson said, "What are you doing here? And why do you look worried?"
"Kiawe was being bothered by some of those Team Skull thugs," Mallow began, "Then an equal group of Team Scorn members showed up and got into a fight with Team Skull. Things might get bad if they're allowed to go on as is, it might escalate badly!"
"Take us to where it's going on," Trip said, "We've fought and whipped Team Scorn members many times, and this Team Skull group sounds like a bunch of clowns by comparison."
"Plus, Dawn here has a new dragon I'm betting she's itching to sic on Team Scorn," Kenny said with an amused smirk while jerking his thumb at Dawn, who dryly rolled her eyes.
Looking to the reborn trainers but focusing on Dawn, Mallow let out a surprised gasp. "You're Dawn Berlitz! The Champion of Sinnoh!" Nodding a few times, Mallow said, "Yeah, I bet you can totally whip both Team Scorn AND Team Skull!" Mallow then proceeded to lead the heroes out to go confront the big fight between Team Scorn and Team Skull, although Mallow was clearly banking heavily on Dawn.
Outside, Kiawe and a Ride Charizard he had with him were standing off to the side on a grassy hill while down below them the groups of Team Scorn and Team Skull members were fighting one another in what heavily resembled a gang war. It was as Kiawe watched what was going on that Mallow came running up to him, bringing Dawn, Kenny, Trip, Ash, and Serena with her. "Kiawe! I brought help!" Mallow said, "What's happened so far?"
Gesturing down where the fighting was happening, Kiawe said, "First Team Skull came in and tried to bully me into a battle where I'd have to give them my Ride Charizard if I lost. Then before any battling there could have actually kicked off, Team Scorn came in and started the conflict, saying they had to clear Team Skull out of their way if they wanted to do what they wanted in Alola."
Dawn had a grim look of knowing understanding on her face. "So local threats in Alola are getting in the way of Team Scorn's vile evil."
"Maybe we let the two groups down there beat on one another until both are too exhausted to continue," Kenny said, "Then we swoop in and clean up shop?"
Trip looked down at where Team Skull was fighting Team Scorn, and saw that the team Scorn members were wearing slightly different outfits; they wore dark blue leather sandals rather than shoes, and all of their tops were sleeveless tank tops, also dark blue but with yellow highlights. They wore baggy cargo shorts held up with belts, again dark blue but with yellow highlights. "Team Scorn has different uniforms here in Alola than elsewhere," Trip remarked.
"Alola has a warmer, more tropical climate than other regions where we've fought them," Dawn pointed out, "They probably made alterations to the uniforms here to make things more comfortable."
Looking down at where the fighting was happening, Serena saw that Team Skull and Team Scorn were completely distracted; they failed to notice and of the heroes or Mallow, and it's clear they forgot about Kiawe. "...Kenny has a point," Serena said, "I say we let Scorn and Skull wear each other out, then we-"
"Pretty pragmatic idea, little lady! Doesn't make you any less of a coward, though!"
Serena was cut off when she and the others heard a man's voice call out; they all turned and saw a uniquely dressed member of Team Scorn standing there, accompanied by a male Team Scorn grunt in the Alola variant Scorn grunt uniform; this specific grunt had long green hair for some odd reason. They were also backed by enough regular Team Scorn grunts so that the numbers between them and the heroes were an even one to one ratio. As for the uniquely dressed Team Scorn member, he wore a yellow long coat (with dark blue furry trim on the hems and wrists) draped over his shoulders like a cape, a yellow buttoned casual dress shirt with the Team Scorn heater shield insignia (dark blue with yellow Team Scorn 'S') over his left pectoral, dark blue casual dress pants, and dark blue dress shoes.
He was also tall, had a serious look on his face made scarier by bolt shaped scar going over his right eye. He also had spiky yellow blonde hair. "I was hoping that my men would have an easier time getting details on how the Ride Pokémon system here in Alola works," the man, clearly a Team Scorn officer, remarked, "And I did see the value in interrogating the boy with the Ride Charizard for details. But then we ran into a group of those Team Skull punks and had to clear them out of the way!"
"Don't you think wearing your coat like a cape right now is not a good idea?" Kenny asked, "I mean, we're in Alola, a region that doesn't exactly have coat friendly weather on the regular."
"How dare you mock him!" the Team Scorn grunt with long green hair scowled, "You little punks are addressing Captain Konishi, Fourth Captain of Team Scorn's Scarf Sector!"
Kiawe looked a bit confused by what was said. "Scarf Sector? I know at least a little bit about Team Scorn because of what makes the news, and I've heard of sectors named Katana, Kunai, Longsword, and Shield. But since when was there a Scarf Sector?"
"We just got started up here," the long haired grunt said, "We're gonna be Alola's resident sector of Team Scorn!"
"Team Scorn's brand of discount dastardly deed doing will not be permitted here in Alola!" Kenny declared, "Okay, Hovernyan! Let's make it cringe!" Kenny then sent out his named male Meowstic
"Alright, Myde!" Trip said as he sent out his named Emploeon, "Let's rock it!"
"Alright, Lincoln!" Dawn said as she sent out her named Latios, "Let's get goin'!"
"Greninja, I choose you!" Ash called out as he sent in Greninja.
"Go, Braixen!" Serena said as she sent out her Braixen!"
Not wanting to be left out, Kiawe said, "Go, Turtonator!"
"Go, Bounsweet!" Mallow said, sending out her Bounsweet to help the others.
Team Scorn fought back by sending out their own Pokémon, with the now identified Konishi sending out an Electabuzz and his grunt with the long green hair, obviously his Captain's Assistant, sending out a Noibat. The other grunts sent out a mix of Pokémon commonly seen in the teams of villainous team members in Alola, showing a lot of overlap with Team Skull.
Konishi, seeing Ash's Greninja as an easy win for his Electabuzz, said, "Alright Electabuzz, use Tunderbolt on Greninja!"
"Lincoln, counter with Dragon Pulse!" Dawn called out. Electabuzz took aim at Ash's Greninja and fired a Thunderbolt, but the named Latios fired a Dragon Pulse attack that blasted right into the Thunderbolt, deflecting it and going on to blast right into Electabuzz, knocking it out. Ash's Greninja in turn took out the (probable) Captain's Assistant's Noibat with cut, and after it scored the knock out Ash's Greninja transformed into its Ash-Greninja form. That proved helpful as Mallow's Bounsweet was in a bit of trouble in trying to take down a grunt's Alolan Rattata.
Eventually, all of the grunts aside from the Captain's Assistant were wiped, leaving just Konishi and his Captain's Assistant. "Go, Magneton!" Konishi said as he sent out his next Pokémon, a Magneton.
"Go, Nuzleaf!" Konoshi's Assistant said, sending out a Nuzleaf.
Ash was about to have his Ash-Greninja move in to attack, but Kiawe stopped him. "I got this," Kiawe said, then he proceeded to perform a dance while a crystal on his wrist glowed, causing his Turtonator to swell with power. "Blast 'em with your Z-move, Turtonator!" Kiawe called out, "Inferno Overdrive!" The heroes watched it as the Z-move flew at Magneton and Nuzleaf, blasting into the both of them and engulfing them in a burst of fiery power, making both cry out in great pain. Even the Scorn and Skull grunts down below took notice, mostly because they had wiped each other out fully.
After the fires of Inferno Overdrive had settled down, Konishi and his Assistant saw that Magneton and Nuzleaf were both down, so they recalled them. "Fine, you brats win this round," Konishi snarled, "Just know that you kids won mainly because those troublesome punks in Team Skull got in our way thing time around!" Konishi then called for all Team Scorn members to retreat, with some even throwing smoke bombs to cover their escape. After the smoke settled, the heroes turned their attention onto the Team Skull members still present.
Glaring down at Team Skull, Kiawe said, "Now, you guys said you wanted to battle me."
"Nevermind, man! We are wiped!" one Team Skull grunt said before he and his fellows all turned tail and ran. Both villainous teams involved were not only beaten, but both failed to get any of what they respectively wanted; a solid net gain for the heroes.
After the Team Skull members had fled, the heroes, after recalling their Pokémon, turned to Kiawe. "What was that you just did?" Ash asked Kiawe.
Kiawe opened his mouth to speak, but was cut off by a man's voice calling out, "Kiawe had used what's called a Z-move, which is done by powering up a Pokémon's attack if you have the appropriate Z-crystal." Everyone turned and saw Professor Kukui come walking up, although Ash and Serena had no idea who he was (the reborn trainers knew but had to act like they didn't).
Luckily for the heroes, Mallow made the introductions. "Oh, Professor Kukui! We just drove off a group of Team Skull members AND a group of Team Scorn members! We had help from Dawn Berlitz and her friends here, though."
Nodding once in understanding, Kukui then turned his attention to the heroes. "Yeah, I got it from Samson that you kids were in Alola. I also heard rumors that a sector of Team Scorn was trying to take root here in Alola, but didn't know for sure until now. Their first official showing in Alola, and you gave them a beating! No doubt all of Alola will be glad to have you here!" Gesturing to the reborn trainers, Kukui said, "Anyway, Samson asked me to find you three, as Hala, the Kahuna of Melemele Island, has something prepared for you all in the hopes it'll help your efforts in fending off Team Scorn. And maybe you can also teach Team Skull a lesson, yeah?"
"They interrupted what was supposed to be down time for us," Kenny said, "So yeah, we're down for giving them a long and hard pounding." Kenny's named Machamp, Zarbon, then came out of his ball on his own and cried out in aroused, sensual pleasure. Kenny recalled Zarbon before he, Dawn, and Trip took off with Kukui, telling Ash and Serena they'll see them later.
Eventually, Kukui led the reborn trainers to a house that, according to Kukui, Hala the Kahuna of Melemele Island lives at. Kukui knocked on the door while calling out, "Hey Hala, it's me Kukui! I brought Dawn, Kenny, and Trip, yeah?"
"Ah, Kukui!" a booming but friendly and jovial voice replied from within the house, "Come in, come in!" Kukui then opened the door and led the reborn trainers inside. When the group got in, they were met by Hala, the Kahuna of Melemele Island. "It is fortuitous that you three are hear," Hala said, "And I got it through a phone call from Samson who was informed by a student at his school that you kids have already encountered and defeated members of the sector of Team Scorn I heard is trying to take root here! You have already acted in defense of Alola as a whole before I even saw you!"
Shrugging, Kenny said, "Well the lads here and I, along with our buds Ash and Serena, were dragged along by a girl named Mallow to help bail out her friend Kiawe when she told us Team Scorn and Team Skull had shown up."
Hala looked a bit grim at the news. "Team Skull as well? So what Samson told me about that is true. The student who informed Samson had also mentioned Team Skull, said that from the looks of things they're eating up a lot of the focus Team Scorn is able to field here in Alola." Folding his arms over his chest, Hala went on, "And I am already aware of that Serena girl, I met her mother Grace when she got her new home here on Melemele Island set up. Samson tells me Serena is expected to be one of the new students at his school, same as you three."
"That's what we were told, yeah," Dawn replied with a nod.
Gesturing to the reborn trainers, Hala said, "Anyway, onto the reason why you're here. Given you're the best hope that the regions of the world have against the rising threat and rising evil of Team Scorn, not to mention how we can also use help in dealing with Team Skull, some help has been arranged to be given to you." Hala led the reborn trainers over to a table, where three Z-Rings laid. "You will each be supplied with a Z-Ring, which will allow you to use Z-moves," Hala said, "I'm afraid I don't at the moment have any Z-crystals to give, but I recommend you three give the Island Trials a go to gather Z-Crystals."
The three reborn trainers each received a Z-Ring, with Kenny saying, "Sweet, we saw Kiawe use a Z-move earlier. I kind of wanna take it for a spin."
Hala nodded once in understanding. "Yes, Samson told me that the student who reported to him mentioned a boy named Kiawe chasing off some Team Scorn members by using Inferno Overdrive. That requires the fire Z-crystal. Now then, onto the second arrangement that's been readied. Here in Alola, starting trainers are given the chance to choose between one of three Pokémon. Rowlet the grass type, Litten the fire type, and Popplio the water type. I know you three are all well beyond the stage in your trainer careers of being beginners, but a Rowlet, Litten, and Popplio have been gathered for the three of you to choose from anyway." Looking a bit concerned, Hala went on in a mildly apprehensive tone, "Although..."
Perking up, Dawn asked, "What's wrong, sir?"
"The Popplio is a bit... eccentric... to put things lightly," Hala began, "And the Rowlet, in addition to acting like those 'emo' teens I hear about, is actually a shiny, so I'm afraid you three might be prone to argue over who between the three of you gets Rowlet."
"The Rowlet is both emo and a shiny?" Trip said, looking confused.
...
Inside the living room of Hala's house, where the Alola starters were all kept, the reborn trainers did indeed see that the Rowlet was shiny; it also had a bored look on its face as it was fiddling with what looked to be a smartphone. The reborn trainers then saw the Popplio and could tell why Hala said it was 'eccentric', as it was currently eating a crayon, pulling it from a box of crayons and munching on it like someone would pull a stick of pocky from a box and munch it down. Only the Litten, the first to see the humans come in, wasn't immediately... off, as it were.
"Is... is Popplio eating a crayon?" Kukui asked, looking confused.
"It tried licking up a small puddle of lighter fluid I spilled earlier when I was getting my grill ready to cook," Hala went on, "And as you can see, the Rowlet is indeed much like those emo teens who-"
"Hala, sir," Kenny interrupted, "I don't think that Rowlet is emo." Kenny sensed as if he could tell what was going on with the shiny Rowlet. "I think it's depressed."
Rowlet, seemingly having heard Kenny, perked up and turned its head. Similarly, Popplio must have heard Kenny as well, given it looked up at the humans as well. The two of them, plus Litten, made their way over to the humans, looking up at the reborn trainers specifically. "I'm guessing we shouldn't expect much out of you because you're depressed, right?" Kenny said to the Rowlet, who looked up at Kenny with a bored expression. However, a hint of appreciation at being understood entered the eyes of the shiny Rowlet, as it hopped over and nuzzled up against Kenny's legs.
Hala let out an amused hum. "I say, it looks like Rowlet's taken a shine to you. Maybe because it feels you understand it?" It was as such that Kenny ended up getting the shiny Rowlet, making it his sixth shiny Pokémon, finally giving him a full party's worth of shinies. Trip then said that, unless Dawn objected, he'd like to take Popplio. Hala, with an unsure look on his face, asked if Trip was sure he could handle Popplio, especially as Hala caught it gnawing on one of the legs of his end table. Trip said that he has similarly as goofy Pokémon as Popplio.
This left Dawn with Litten, which was her first choice anyway as she always prefers picking the fire type starter. The reborn trainers then got the balls that their new Alola starters were kept in. Checking her Litten's info, Dawn saw that it was female, had a jolly nature, and its standard ability of Blaze. "Since it's now yours, would you be interested in naming your Litten?" Hala asked.
Nodding once, Dawn said, "Yeah, I'm naming her Kirara."
Similarly, Trip said that he was naming his Popplio, which is a male, Suzaku. As for Kenny, he ended up naming his shiny Rowlet, also male, as Cell Jr. He says it's short for 'Depressed Jimmy'. After that was taken care of, Kukui said, "Well kids, we ought to head back. I think that you will be starting at the school tomorrow. That being the case, come see me, I'll be your homeroom teacher."
"Looking forward to it, Kukui-sensei," Dawn replied with a respectful nod.
"Hey hey! A foreign method of addressing one's teachers! I like it!" Kukui remarked, clearly amused. The reborn trainers were then led out of Hala's home, with the hopes that they will be able to help curb Team Scorn in Alola before it could rise.
The following day, the reborn trainers made it to the school a solid half hour before classes started. They were even dressed differently than normal to compensate for the climate of Alola; Dawn wore a white sleeveless tank top that looked like it'd pass for both genders, a pair of baggy light tan cargo shorts held up with a belt, and sandals, additionally Dawn wore a hat similar to what Lillie is expected to wear, only a lot more plain and the brim slightly smaller. Trip wore the default male outfit from the Sun and Moon games but the blue on the shirt was replaced with the same shade of orange as his jacket, also Trip didn't wear the hat. Kenny wore the same outfit as Samson, but the shirt was bright orange and had flowers in place of fish silhouettes.
As the reborn trainers waited for class to start, they were met up by Kukui, who led Ash and Serena. Ash was in his outfit from the Sun and Moon anime, and Serena wore the default female outfit from the Sun and Moon games, minus any sort of head wear. The reborn trainers also noticed that Ash had a Z-ring as well. "Oh yeah, Ash must have given a good impression, yeah," Kukui said, "He got that from Tapu Koko, the guardian deity of Melemele Island."
"I heard someone talking about the island's guardian deity acting up yesterday evening," Dawn remarked. Turning to look at Ash, Dawn said, "I guess it was for you, then?"
Ash nodded once in the affirmative. "Yeah, but I'm wanting to know more about this."
"We have all the time in the world to learn," Kukui said, "And what better place to learn then here, at school? Anyway, all of you kids will be students in my homeroom. The classes are divided up into multiple groups, with each class having a number and a letter." Gesturing to himself, Kukui said, "You all and your classmates will be in my homeroom, Class 1-A."
Kenny, with a surprised look on his face, said, "We're Class 1-A?"
Noticing the hint of excitement in Kenny's tone, as well as being able to tell WHY Kenny was excited, Dawn could only face palm gently. "...Oh no..."
END, CHAPTER TWO-HUNDRED
Author's notes;
This chapter begins the saga in Alola, and sees Dawn, Kenny, and Trip meet up with Ash and Serena. They later head to the school so the egg could be delivered, only to be dragged out by Mallow who needs help to get Kiawe out of some danger, as he's near a turf war between members of Team Skull and Team Scorn. The bad guys are chased off while Kiawe shows off a Z-move. Dawn and the boys then get a Z-Ring each, letting them have the potential to use Z-moves once they get Z-crystals, as well as the Alolan starters.
