Chapter Two-hundred and two: Early new catches in Alola
"Goodra, Dragon Pulse!"
"Goo!"
Ash was battling a wild Grubbin in a forest on Melemele Island, while some of his classmates watched. Ash had his Goodra, who he brought with him to Alola, attack the wild Grubbin with Dragon Pulse, blasting it and throwing it against a tree. The Grubbin tried to struggle itself back up, but it collapsed from the pounding it took from the dragon Pokémon before it. Ash then threw a poké ball at the Grubbin while shouting, "Go, Poké Ball!" The ball flew at Grubbin, bumped into it, took it inside, then fell lightly to the ground with a slight crunch of the dirt under it.
Ash and his classmates watched in anticipation as the ball shook, but it eventually made a ping sound, showing that Ash caught the Grubbin. "Mozel tov, Ash!" Kenny cheered, "You caught the Grubbin!"
"I know the way to the nearest Pokémon Center," Mallow said, "We should go there so Ash can get his Grubbin looked after."
Dawn nodded in agreement. "Yeah, Grubbin did take some serious damage just now." With Mallow leading the way, the heroes and their classmates made their way over to the nearest Pokémon Center.
...
At the local Pokémon Center, the heroes and their classmates waited as Ash's new Grubbin was being treated. While that was happening, Ash and Serena took note of the Comfey that was helping Nurse Joy and her Blissey. "Hey, what Pokémon is that?" Serena asked.
"It's a Comfey!" Rotom Dex said as it popped out, "Comfey are known for-"
"Grubbin is fully healed," Nurse Joy said, unknowingly cutting Rotom Dex off as she came out, pushing a cart that Ash's Grubbin sat on.
Smiling, Ash said, "Glad to see you're doing better, Grubbin!" Despite the circumstances, Grubbin gave a happy cry and showed it would be a team player. With Ash's Grubbin perked back up, the heroes and their classmates were able to take off from the Pokémon Center and go back to their respective homes. For the reborn trainers, this saw them return to the hotel on Akala Island. They will return to Melemele Island the next day for classes.
The next day during breakfast, the heroes and their classmates were sitting down to eat. "I wonder what Pokémon Ash will catch next," Serena remarked aloud.
Shrugging, Kenny replied, "Well that all is based on where he'll go."
"There's a forest behind the school," Rotom Dex spoke up, "There tends to be wild Pokémon found there."
Mallow nodded in the affirmative. "Oh yeah, it's where I found my Bounsweet." Mallow's Bounsweet then gave a happy cry before jumping up and releasing a very pleasant and appetizing fruity aroma. As the heroes and their classmates enjoyed the smell, a random wild Rowlet flew in and attempted to get at Bounsweet, but its efforts were repelled.
"A wild Rowlet?" Ash said, "But it looks differently colored than Kenny's."
"Cell Jr. is a shiny Rowlet," Kenny said, "That must be the normal coloration for the species." The wild Rowlet, undeterred by the setback, tried once again to go after Mallow's Bounsweet.
However, Ash called out, "Greninja, I choose you!" Greninja came out to face off against the wild Rowlet, rushing right in to fight it. "Use Cut on Rowlet, Greninja!" Ash called out, prompting Greninja to conjure a short blade of energy that it used to strike at the wild Rowlet with. Rowlet was hit hard and sent reeling, rolling until it hit a nearby pole and laid there, defeated. Ash then took out a poké ball, expanded it, and threw it at Rowlet while shouting, "Go, Poké Ball!" The ball flew at Rowlet, bumped into it, took it inside, then fell softly to the ground, shaking for a bit until it made a ping sound, indicating capture.
As Ash went to retrieve the ball that held his new Rowlet, Lana asked, "Why did Rowlet attack Bounsweet unprovoked like that?"
"Bounsweet's used to being bothered by flying types due to her sweet smell," Mallow said.
Dawn folded her arms over her chest. "...Even so, Rowlet clearly saw that Bounsweet was another Pokémon, yet it tried attacking again anyway with the aim to get food. Are local food sources for wild Pokémon here on Melemele Island looking slim right now?"
Ash, looking like he was considering the point that Dawn brought up, looked at the ball that held his new Rowlet. "...We ought to perk Rowlet back up and look into matters there."
...
After Rowlet was perked back up with a Revive and a Potion, the heroes and their friends began to question it. "Hey Rowlet, why were you out looking for food so desperately?" Ash asked.
Ash's Rowlet, looking a bit unsure, flew up a bit and turned to fly off. It stopped midair, turned back around, cried at the heroes and their classmates, then turned back around and continued to fly off. "Rowlet wants us to follow it," Kiawe said, getting the others to agree and all run off after Ash's Rowlet.
After going on for a while, the heroes and their classmates were led to a large clearing where there were nests, and in many of the nests were Pikipeks and a few Trumbeaks, plus one Toucannon. However, when the heroes and their classmates got there, they saw that the nest was under siege by a number of Team Scorn grunts, led by a uniquely dressed female member of Team Scorn.
This girl, looking to be very late teens to very early twenties, had fair skin, long crimson red hair that reached her waist, and she wore a yellow long-sleeved blouse under a dark blue leather body armor that covered the torso and upper body, plus had pauldrons of the same material and color. The young woman wore dark blue leather gauntlets that nearly reached the crooks of her elbows, a yellow skirt that reached her knees, and a pair of dark blue boots that reached about inch below her knees. Her Team Scorn patch was a yellow heater shield with a dark blue Team Scorn 'S', and located above her left breast on the leather armor.
Turning to look at the heroes and their classmates, the Team Scorn woman said, "Kids, this ain't a field trip."
"What are you doing here, Team Scorn?!" Ash yelled as his Rowlet cried out angrily at the woman.
"Hey!" a young female voice called out, stepping forward to show she was a Team Scorn member dressed like the standard grunts in Alola. She had fair skin and long blue hair in pigtails. Pointing accusingly at Ash, the young grunt said, "You speak disrespectfully towards Captain Sayaka, Third Captain of Team Scorn's Scarf Sector! You all had better watch your tones!"
"It's kind of disturbing to see a girl who looks barely older than my little sisters as a member of Team Scorn," Lana remarked, looking and sounding troubled by the idea that someone so young would be that bad.
Kenny, with a similarly troubled look on his face, replied, "We've seen similarly as young members of Team Scorn before." Ash, Serena, Dawn, and Trip all nodded in agreement with Kenny. "Still doesn't answer what Team Scorn's doing here in bird Pokémon country," Kenny went on.
Shrugging, the now identified Sayaka explained, "Team Scorn needs more Pokémon for its members for general use. Especially here in Alola, where the Scarf Sector is getting up and running. I heard it that there was a flock of wild Pikipeks and some Trumbeaks here, so we came to catch them." Gesturing to the young girl Team Scorn member, Sayaka went on, "Why, my Captain's Assistant here, Satomi, had already caught a Pikipek for herself."
The heroes and their classmates now knew why Ash's Rowlet had been so desperate; its flock was under attack by Team Scorn. And the students also saw some Team Scorn members inspect the hordes of fruit available and took what all they deemed to be good, also explaining why Rowlet was on the hunt for food. Given how many Team Scorn members were present, combined with the wild bird Pokémon there acting up, the heroes and their classmates all had to fight, although Lillie ended up sticking close behind Dawn and Ash who confronted Sayaka and Satomi.
"Go, Golurk!" Sayaka called out as she sent out her Golurk.
"Go, Pikipek!" Satomi said, sending out her recently caught Pikipek.
"Greninja, I choose you!" Ash said as he sent out his Greninja.
"Alright, Chi-Chi!" Dawn said while sending out her named Infernape, "Let's get goin'!"
Gesturing forward, Sayaka called out, "Golurk, use Mega Punch on Greninja!"
"Pikipek, use Peck on Infernape!" Satomi ordered.
"Greninja, use Water Shuriken on Golurk!" Ash ordered.
"Chi-Chi, use Thunder Punch on Pikipek!" Dawn called out.
As the fastest Pokémon in the battle, Chi-Chi rushed in first, slugging Satomi's Pikipek with an electrified fist that struck the small bird Pokémon hard, knocking it to the ground in defeat before it could of even had a chance to attack. As Satomi recalled her fainted Pikipek, Ash's Greninja pelted Sayaka's Golurk with Water Shurikens. It hit hard, but not quite enough to take out Golurk. However, it did keep Mega Punch from connecting, causing that attack to falter.
Tossing up another ball, Satomi called out, "Go, Meowstic!" Coming out to battle under Satomi's command next was her Meowstic, a female one as it was mostly white. Pointing forward, Satomi said, "Meowstic, use Psychic on Infernape!"
"Chi-Chi that's enough, fall back!" Dawn said as she swapped her Pokémon, "Alright, Tobias! Let's get goin'!"
"Greninja, use Water Shuriken on Golurk!" Ash ordered.
"Golurk, use Mega Punch on Greninja!" Sayaka commanded.
Dawn swapped out her named Infernape and swapped in her named Darkrai, who flawlessly tanked Meowstic's Psychic due to being immune to psychic attacks thanks to its dark typing. Greninja then pelted Golurk with more Water Shurikens, and this time Golurk was down for the count. Defeating Golurk also prompted Greninja to turn into its Ash-Greninja form. After recalling her fainted Golurk, Sayaka tossed up another ball while calling out, "Go, Lairon!" Sayaka's next Pokémon for the battle ended up being a Lairon. Gesturing forward, Sayaka called out, "Lairon, use tackle on Greninja!"
"Greninja, use Double Team!" Ash called out.
"Meowstic, use Disarming Voice on that dark looking Pokémon in front of us!" Satomi said while pointing at Tobias.
"Tobias, use Dark Pulse on Meowstic!" Dawn called out.
Acting quickly, the named Darkrai conjured and cast a Dark Pulse at Satomi's Meowstic, hitting it and knocking it out before it could even attack. Sayaka's Lairon tried hitting Ash's Greninja, but its use of Double Team kept it from actually taking a hit; one of the conjured doppelgangers was busted instead. A barrage of Water Shurikens from all of the other Greninjas ended up taking Sayaka's Lairon out when Ash next called for an attack.
Seeing that neither Sayaka or Satomi tried sending out another Pokémon, Lillie who was cowering behind Dawn and Ash let out a relieved sigh. "The obvious leader behind this action has been defeated," Lillie said.
Scowling in annoyance, Sayaka called out, "Men, we're backing out!" The present Team Scorn members disengaged, even throwing a few smoke bombs to cover their escape. When the smoke settled, the heroes and their classmates saw that Team Scorn had fled. But there was still the damage assessment to be done, to see how badly Team Scorn had ruined things before Sayaka called for the retreat.
...
By Dawn's estimation, roughly eighty percent of the fruit gathered by the bird Pokémon had been taken by Team Scorn. Furthermore, there were no wild Pikipeks left, and out of the seven wild Trumbeaks that Dawn recalled seeing, only two were accounted for. The wild Toucannon was still there, however. "Rowlet, I am so sorry that we weren't able to prevent further damage to your flock," Ash said in an apologetic tone to his Rowlet.
As Rowlet let out a sad hoot, Toucannon came over to it and Ash. Getting Rowlet's attention, Toucannon talked for a bit in Pokémon-talk to Rowlet, which Rotom Dex was able to translate. "Toucannon is saying it doesn't hold Rowlet accountable even though it was absent," Rotom Dex said, "That it's grateful Rowlet had been able to bring in good humans to drive off the bad ones and prevent further damage to the flock, and that it's proud of Rowlet and is granting Rowlet its blessings to go with the good humans."
Turning to look at Rotom Dex, Trip said, "Wait a minute, you can understand Toucannon?"
"Well I AM a Pokémon," Rotom Dex said, "Just one inhabiting a device that lets me communicate with humans is all."
"Well alright!" Kenny said, "We have a good guy version of the talking Meowth from Team Rocket!"
Looking confused, Sophocles said, "Talking Meowth? Team Rocket?"
"It's..." Ash began, "...A long story. We'll fill you guys in back at school." Everything was as settled as it could be, so the heroes and their classmates took off, heading for their homes. They were able to drive off Team Scorn and prevent further damage, but damage was still done. They just hoped that things will get easier for them from this point moving forward.
The next morning at school, the heroes and their classmates were relaxing in class, waiting for Kukui to arrive so that he could begin class. Some of them also had their Pokémon out, although Lillie tended to shy away when any Pokémon got close to her. The other girls had no problem with Pokémon, and the other girls in class were all crowded around in front of Dawn as she stood with Lincoln, her named Latios, out next to her. "Wow, so this is the dragon Pokémon that you used to save Serena when she fell off that Ride Sharpedo," Lana remarked.
Dawn nodded in the affirmative. "Yes. Lincoln here is my Latios."
"I bet a strong and fierce Pokémon like dragon types such as Latios would love some spicy cooking," Mallow began, "That being said, I can-" Mallow stopped short when Lincoln visibly cringed as floated backwards a bit away from Mallow. "...What's wrong?" Mallow asked.
"Lincoln actually doesn't like spicy cooking," Dawn explained, "He much prefers sweet cooking." Holding a hand to her chin, Dawn went on, "Although for some odd reason, Lincoln likes eating peanut butter sandwiches with sauerkraut added."
"Peanut butter..." Mallow began, "...and sauerkraut... sandwiches." Gently shaking her head, Mallow said, "That sounds like either an abomination of cooking, or something a pregnant woman made up to satisfy a random craving her pregnancy gave her."
"Actually a woman DID make a peanut butter and sauerkraut sandwich to satisfy a pregnancy craving," Dawn said, "Lincoln got to the rest of the sandwich when it was left unguarded."
"Sort of like how my Popplio will eat whatever snacks my little sisters are careless enough to leave laying around," Lana said, "Like this one time, I-"
Lana was cut off when the door to the classroom opened, and Kukui walked in with another teacher. This teacher wore a red beret hat on his head, wore a tan long-sleeved dress jacket that looked like part of a military uniform, similar colored pants with the thigh areas of the legging puffed up, black boots that the leggings disappeared into, and the teacher also wore a monocle, had a thin whispy black mustache, and he carried an extendable pointing stick that was about two feet long, extended and tucked under his right arm. He was fair skinned and had his shiny black hair in a bowl-cut.
The mystery teacher carried himself with an air of dignified superiority, as well as seeing himself as at least somewhat military or disciplinarian. Gesturing to the mystery teacher, Kukui said, "Class, this here is Mr. Steinburg, the homeroom teacher of Class 1-B."
Leaning to his side to whisper to Dawn, Kenny whispered to her, "I bet that Vlad King could totally take him on in a one-v-one street fight outside on the track." Dawn smacked Kenny in the back of the head to snap him back to paying attention.
In front of the class, Kukui said, "Mr. Steinburg here, given that his homeroom is attending a different class today, is free and thus wants to speak with you all about a little favor he has concerning the field trip he and I are going to take you all on in a bit. So let's give him our full attention, yeah?" Kukui stood off to the side so that he could let Steinburg take things from there.
"I got it that some of you children have already proven yourselves as capable trainers," Steinburg began, having a bit of an accent that helped to fit the general air that he was giving off, "And that some of you have even been lucky enough to find the incredibly rare and hard to find shiny Pokémon."
Holding up a hand, Trip said, "Uhh, yeah. I own a shiny Tangrowth, my sister Dawn owns a shiny Hariyama, Serena owns a shiny Phantump, and Kenny and Ash each own multiple shinies, such as Kenny's Rowlet and Ash's Mimikyu." The rest of the class were all surprised to hear that Dawn, Trip, Kenny, Ash, and Serena apparently had so many shiny Pokémon between them, especially given that they were suppose to be incredibly rare as per what Stienburg said.
Steinburg straightened up, as if coming to attention. "Wunderbar!" Steinburg proclaimed, "Then you and your classmates will be of especially great help when Kukui and I take you all out on the field trip to Alola's Route Three."
"Why are we going to Route Three?" Lillie asked, holding up a hand.
Stepping forward, Kukui explained, "The main point is for you kids to look around and take notes. Each of you will have to write down five general observations, you kids can even share observations. However, there's a secondary task that's more personal and won't count towards a grade, a secondary task that's the reason why Steinburg here came to us."
"You see, children," Steinburg began, "I was out on Route Three looking for a wild Yungoos to capture. It had to be a calm one with an even temper as I intended to capture it as a gift to bestow to my beloved little nephew who's turning four and he wants a pet Yungoos. It was especially important that the Yungoos be calm and even tempered and non aggressive as my beloved little nephew has autism. But describing the Yungoos that I want for little Donny is getting off subject. You see, while I was searching for the right Yungoos, a large pack of hostile ones found me and chased me up a tree."
"The pack of Yungooses chased you up a tree," Kiawe said.
Nodding once in confirmation, Steinburg went on, "I hung to a high up thick branch and waited for the Yungooses to leave, which they didn't do until it got late in the day. I decided that, as it was late, the Yungooses, which are active during the day in the wild, wouldn't bother me as I silently got down from the tree to leave. But I had gotten tired and lacked the energy to escape. I feared that I would be stuck in that tree all night resting, then when morning came the hostile Yungooses would return to try to get at me again." Holding his head up a bit more, Steinburg went on, "That leads us to why I need your help, children."
"What do you need our help with?" Sophocles asked.
"You see, a wild Cutiefly found me in the tree," Steinburg began, "It saw I was tired, then on its own volition it left before returning with a glob of honey it fed me. That honey gave me just enough perk to get down and leave. I thanked the Cutiefly for its help, but a cry from a wild Alolan Rattata startled it and it ran off. I need the help of you kids to track down that Cutiefly, as I aim to convince it to become my Pokémon partner."
Folding his arms over his chest, Kenny said, "I'm willing to bet that this Cutiefly is a shiny, given the emphasis you had placed on wanting us to help due to our class's overall luck in finding wild shiny Pokémon."
Pointing at Kenny in a commending manner, Steinburg said, "Exactly, young man! So then, students of Kukui! What say you to helping me with my search?" Kukui's students all gave affirmative cheers, showing that they were ready to give the search a go. As such, the heroes and their classmates left on the field trip with Kukui and Steinburg to go out to Alola Route Three.
Later, the heroes and their classmates were out on Alola Route Three under the supervision of Kukui and Steinburg. All of the students aside from Kenny, Kiawe, and Mallow had already finished the assignment from Kukui, meaning they decided to look about for the shiny Cutiefly that Steinburg was hoping to find. Figuring that the shiny Cutiefly might be a bit skittish based on what Steinburg said about a wild Alolan Rattata's cry scaring it off, the students brought out their small, friendly, cutesy Pokémon to help out the search.
Among this was Kenny's named Skitty Jibanyan, Ash's Mimikyu, and Serena's Phantump, all of which were shinies. Kenny was figuring that small cutesy shinies would help with bringing in other small cutesy shinies. Plus Jibanyan, Mimikyu, and Phantump were all friendly in disposition, so they would be able to more easily appeal to a skittish Pokémon like Cutiefly. In addition to the Pokémon that Kenny, Ash, and Serena had out, Dawn and Sophocles called out Foamy and Togedemaru, both of which are also small and cutesy.
"We're looking for a Cutiefly that's got a pinkish body as opposed the the normal yellowish one," Dawn said to her named Pachirisu, "And it's likely to be skittish. So be calm and friendly, alright?" Foamy gave Dawn a salute in the affirmative. Looking to Sophocles, Dawn said, "Well now, I think we're in business."
Pointing at Foamy, Sophocles said, "That Pachirisu of yours snarled at me when we had bagels a few days ago."
"Well you tried taking what I had made up for Foamy without realizing it," Dawn pointed out dryly.
Shrugging, Sophocles said, "I thought someone made that jalapeno bagel with jalapeno cream cheese spread up for me! I like it too."
As Dawn and Sophocles were talking, Foamy saw it as Togedemaru wandered over to something poking out of a bush while laying on the ground; the pointed end of a thick blue tail. "Maru!" Togedemaru cried out in amusement as she leapt up and slammed down on the tail end with her spikes. The pained and pissed off dragonic cry that happened instantly after that got Togedemaru's attention, as well as the attention of Dawn, Sophocles, and Foamy. Togedemaru backed up a bit, looking like she had realized that she might have screwed up just now.
Considering that a wild Salamence rose up from behind the bushes, looking pissed and cranky that its nap was interrupted because a Togedemaru spiked on its tail, it was a very understandable feeling. "Is that a wild Salamence?!" Sophocles exclaimed, clearly alarmed.
Right away, Dawn called out, "Alright, Lincoln! Let's get goin'!" After sending out her named Latios, Dawn called out, "Lincoln, use Dragon Pulse on Salamence!" Lincoln fired his Dragon Pulse which went on the blast right into Salamence. It reeled back, but it was able to come back around and rush at Lincoln with Dragon Claw. "Use Psychic to slam it down!" Dawn called out. Lincoln, his eyes glowing with psychic power, blasted Salamence with a powerful telekinetic blast that slammed it right down into the ground. Salamence tried getting up, but the beating from a legendary Pokémon kept it down.
While the Salamence remained down, Dawn took out a poké ball, expanded it, then tossed it at the wild Salamence while shouting, "Go, Poké Ball!" The ball flew at Salamence, bumped into it, took it inside, then fell to the ground. It then shook for a bit before it made a ping sound, indicating capture. As Dawn picked up the ball that held her new Salamence, Ash came running over with Kenny, Trip, and Serena.
"What happened?" Trip said, "We heard screaming!"
Pointing at Sophocles's Togedemaru, Dawn said, "Togedemaru there had done something to trigger a wild Salamence that rose up from behind some bushes. Lincoln beat the Salamence into submission, then I caught it."
"What's a wild Salamence doing here on Alola's Route Three?" Serena practically exclaimed.
Dawn shrugged in mild confusion as she proceeded to check out Salamence's info with her pokédex. It was female, had a jolly nature, and the Intimidate ability. Looking at the ball that held her Salamence, Dawn said, "Yeah, I'm going to name you Drachen." The ball that contained the now dubbed Drachen was then sent off to Oak's lab in Kanto, although Dawn was totally looking forward to working with her named Salamence. After that was taken care of, Dawn turned to look at the others. "Any luck in finding that Cutiefly for Steinburg-sensei?" Dawn asked.
Shrugging, Kenny said, "No but the rest of the class plus both Professor Kukui and Mr. Steinburg are cornered by a pack of hostile wild Yungooses."
"And you guys left them?!" Sophocles exclaimed.
Serena opened her mouth as if to speak, but then immediately closed her mouth as dawning realization hit her. "...We made a terrible mistake." Dawn then led the others in going to rescue the rest of the class plus both the teachers.
...
Kukui, Steinburg, Kiawe, Mallow, Lana, and Lillie were all on top of a boulder as they were surrounded by a bunch of wild Yungooses. "They must want round two with me!" Steinburg swore, "Hoo boy, I'll get them yet!"
As everyone was crowded on the boulder, with Lillie even crying out in fright, a series of attacks flew out and swamped the horde of Yungooses, taking out many of them. When the volley ended, the humans looked over and saw that the rest of the class had arrived. "Sorry about leaving you guys when we heard Sophocles panic!" Ash called out, "But we're here now!"
"What did Sophocles do?" Kiawe screamed.
"His Togedemaru triggered a wild Salamence that Dawn ended up catching," Kenny said, "We'll share the deets after we save you guys!" The other students then had all of the Pokémon they had out fire another volley of attacks, taking out more of the Yungooses. The horde realized that it wasn't going to win, so they all took off as quickly as they could, thus saving Kukui, Steinburg, and the students trapped with them.
After the trapped people got down, everyone settled down. "Well now," Kukui said, "I say it's time for lunch, yeah?"
...
Later as the students ate lunch, Kukui said, "Yeah, I can't really blame you guys for running off when you heard Sophocles cry out in panic, especially as it turned out his Togedemaru invoked the wrong side of an angry Salamence."
Turning to look at Dawn, Lana said, "Speaking of, it's amazing Dawn caught that Salamence. And she's also got Latios." Smirking a bit in amusement, Lana went on, "I'd say you're a master of dragon Pokémon, Dawn!"
"Imma tell our pal Iris you said that about Dawn the next time I see her," Kenny said.
Steinburg was about to speak up, but he was cut off when he and everyone else heard a wild Pokémon cry out, then they saw something small come zooming right towards Steinburg. It came to a stop to show it was a wild Cutiefly, and it had a pinkish body as opposed to a yellowish one. "That's a shiny Cutiefly!" Mallow exclaimed.
The shiny Cutiefly nudged up against Steinburg's face, then fell back and gave a happy cry. "Could... could it be?" Steinburg asked, "Are you the same Cutiefly who came to me in my hour of need?" The shiny Cutiefly gave another happy cry, clearly recognizing Steinburg. "Oh my good friend," Steinburg said, holding his hands under the shiny Cutiefly, "How I have wanted to find you once more to make sure I had properly expressed to you my gratitude for helping me out that faithful night! If you would be interested, I would like to make you my Pokémon partner, to bring you home and grant you proper shelter from the elements, not to mention good food!"
The Cutiefly gave a happy cry of agreement, and as such Steinburg used a spare poké ball to capture Cutiefly. "Sweetness, Mr. Steinburg found his Cutiefly friend and caught it," Kenny said, "Hey wait, didn't Mr. Steinburg also say he was looking for a good temperament Yungoos for his special needs nephew?"
"Actually, Mr. Steinburg had already caught one he says will be perfect," Lillie explained, "It's brows don't look as furrowed as they normally do, and it gave off a calm, easy going air. It also had a little bit of its tongue sticking out, but in a manner that's kind of cute."
"Ah, a tongue blep," Trip reasoned. The rest of the field trip went well, and after the studnets who didn't complete their assignments yet got them finished, everyone was able to return back to the trainer school. Steinburg succeeded in not only finding his Cutiefly friend but also finding the perfect Yungoos for his young nephew, and Dawn caught herself a Salamence that she was totally looking forward to working with. All in all, today was a good day for the heroes and their classmates.
END, CHAPTER TWO-HUNDRED AND TWO
Author's notes;
This chapter adapts the events of Ash catching his Rowlet, also here he succeeds in catching the Grubbin he tried for. The events around Rowlet's capture are different, as the heroes are led to a Team Scorn attack on the Pikipek/Trumbeak flock led by Third Captain Sayaka and her Captain's Assistant, Satomi. Team Scorn's driven off, but there's still some devastation. After that, the heroes and their class help another teacher with tracking down a friendly wild Pokémon who helped him out. Dawn and Sophocles run afowl of a Salamence that Sophocles's Togedemaru triggers, but Dawn catches it. The other teacher finds his Pokémon friend, and all is well.
Anyway, the next chapter will see some filler episodes skimmed and or skipped in favor of starting up the saga of a certain Litten, as well as see Lillie start to take care of a certain egg. Until then, take care.
