Episode 122: Spell of the Unown Part 3
Last time, Sora, Kairi, Tracey, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Lisa, Pikachu, Angel, Togepi, and Marill have arrived to Greenfield and they saw the crystallization spreading from the Spencer house and right out to the field.
Sora had learned about her father's disappearance and her mother's hospitalization from Schuyler, and to make things worse than they already were, Entei came and kidnapped Delia right in front of Sora.
He tried to rush out to the crystal field, but Riku and Ash stopped him, fearing of losing him again.
We open up with Delia laying on the bed after Entei has returned.
"I have brought you what you wished for," Entei said.
"Mama," Molly said. Delia woke up, still under Entei's hypnosis. Her face lit up. "Mama!" She heads for the other side of the bed. Delia opened her eyes and sat up.
"You called me 'mama'," Delia said. Molly smiled.
"Yeah. And I'm Molly. Member?" Molly asked. Delia took Molly into her arms.
"Molly," Delia said, hugging her. Molly was happy.
"Mama," Molly said. She looked at Entei with a smile. "Thank you, papa. Can we stay like this forever?" Entei smiled.
"If that is what you wish," Entei said.
Outside, Axel witnesses the crystallization as he arrived. He was amazed by what was going on.
"Whoa, I never expected this. No wonder Xemnas wants me to look into this. They said I'm not coming back until I get some juicy details, so I might as well stick around," Axel said.
Back in the manor, Molly, Entei, and Delia were watching the crystallization spreading throughout Greenfield.
"Your world is getting bigger," Entei said.
"It's so pretty, papa" Molly said.
"I am happy that you are happy," Entei said.
Back at the Center, Sora filled Professor Oak about Entei abducting his mom.
"So it was an Entei that took your mother. This is unexpected," Professor Oak said.
"Just where did Entei even come from?" Tai asked.
"I don't know, but I suspect this is connected to the Unown inside the manor," Professor Oak said.
"That makes sense, I guess," Tracey said.
Porta Vista, Danny, Cattleya, Ventus, Yuki, and Sparky are watching the event on TV, obviously worried about Molly.
"The event takes an even more disturbing turn of events as this afternoon, our camera shot a woman identified as Delia Ketchum was abducted by a mysterious Pokémon as her son gives chase," the news woman reported. The camera shows Sora, Kairi, and their friends chasing after Entei.
"MOM!" Sora yelled.
"COME BACK HERE WITH MY BOYFRIEND'S MOM!" Kairi yelled.
"Delia?! MY BABY SISTER!" Danny exclaimed as his eyes almost popped out of his sockets.
"My goodness," Cattleya said with worry.
"Auntie D!" Ventus said.
Back in Pallet Town, Xion has come over with Seth in her arms to watch the news coverage as Karen, Xion, Seth, and Blossom watches the events on TV. Karen was shocked to see it happen.
"MOM!" Karen yelled so loud, almost the entire neighborhood heard her. The baby then starts crying from Karen's yell.
"Karen, please, don't do that in front of Seth," Karen said.
"Sorry," Karen said. "I need to make a phone call."
Back at the Greenfield Pokémon Center, the phone rings and the local Nurse Joy answered it. Sora was still beating himself up over what happened. And Kairi was still comforting him.
"Ugh, I don't know how I'm going to feel worse," Sora said. Nurse Joy approaches the group.
"Excuse, but which one of you is Sora Ketchum?" Nurse Joy asked.
"That's me," Sora said.
"You have a phone call," Nurse Joy said.
"Phone call? From where?" Sora asked.
"Pallet Town," Nurse Joy said. Sora gulped, knowing who it could possibly be.
"I had to ask," Sora groaned. He answered the phone. "Hello?" Delia came on the screen with an angered expression.
"You mind telling me what just happened down there, Sora?" Karen asked.
"Um..." Sora paused.
"Let me give you a hint! Our mom was taken by a mysterious Pokémon, heading for the Hale mansion! Does that sum it up for you?" Karen asked.
"Yeah, it sums it up, Karen," Sora said.
"How could you let this happen?!" Karen asked.
"Hey, don't blame me for this, Karen. I tried to get to her, but Ash and Riku stopped me and-" Sora was cut off.
"Don't you dare blame them for this!" Karen said. Sora groaned.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"Hey, whose side are you on?" Sora asked. "D'oh, nevermind, because I'm trying to figure out how we're going to help our mom."
"I know you'll think of something, Sora. But I suggest you do it fast," Karen said.
"I'll do whatever I can," Sora said. Sora hung up as he sighed. "And I better come up with one and fast."
A little while later, a bulldozer is heading right towards the mansion.
"It would seem that a construction crew is attempting to bulldoze their way towards the Spencer mansion," the news woman reported.
Over to Molly's room, she stood up.
"Go away! Leave us alone!" Molly stomped her foot.
In response, the Unown swirls around in a frenzy.
Back to the bulldozer, crystal pillars spikes up, knocking the bulldozer over. The news woman and the cameraman ran to avoid being crushed. The driver got out as the crystallization covered the bulldozer when he started to run.
The Unown then calmed down and swirled around again.
Over to Axel, he watched the occurrence from a distance.
"Something's going on in there, I can bet my chakrams on it. Then I'd be a betting man just like Luxord," Axel said.
Over to the World That Never Was, Roxas is looking for Axel after eating some sea salt ice cream. He came across a stick that says "WINNER" on it. He didn't know what it meant. What did he win? He decided to ask Axel about it. He looked around for Axel, but he's seen no sign of him.
"Axel? Axel, where are you?" Roxas asked. He sees Demyx playing on his sitar. "Hey, Demyx, you seen where Axel went?"
"No, I haven't seen him since yesterday," Demyx said.
"Do you know where he is, at least?" Roxas asked.
"Not really," Demyx said. Saïx approached him from behind.
"Axel's whereabouts are no concern for you," Saïx coldly said, making Roxas quickly turn around. Roxas saw the cold expression in the Organization's second-in-command's face. "All you need to know is what we say."
That wasn't good enough for Roxas. He said nothing and took his leave. He vanished through a corridor of darkness and arrived in Pallet Town. He looked around. It was strangely familiar to him.
"What is this place? Why does it feel like I've been here before?" Roxas asked. He placed his hood on and he walked down the streets of Pallet Town. He heads for Professor Oak's lab. He walked through the ranch and saw the Pokémon that occupied there. But there were certain Pokémon he saw. He looked at a Mr. Mime doing some pantomime. A memory flashes in.
We look through his eyes and he saw a Pokéball being thrown at Mime Jr and it wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. Memories of the other Pokémon being caught filled his mind. Arcanine spotted Roxas and he has Sora's scent. Arcanine rushes towards Roxas, but he vanished. Arcanine stopped in his tracks.
"What was that about?" - Arcanine subtitle.
Back in the Pokémon Center, Professor is still looking over the information on the Unown. But Izzy has found something very disturbing.
"Uh-oh," Izzy said. Everyone all turned to him.
"What's wrong, Izzy?" Matt asked.
"It's going to get worse before it's going to get better," Izzy said.
"How could it get any worse than this?" TK asked.
"As we all know, this phenomenon is only affecting Greenfield," Izzy said.
"Yeah, so?" Davis asked.
"So, it'll grow in a rapid pace, eventually spreading all over the entire Johto region, and then, towards the Kanto region and and then every piece of land surrounding them both," Izzy said.
"And then, eventually, it'll spread out in the entire world," Riku said.
"I'm afraid so," Izzy comfirmed.
"If what you're saying is true, then we must find a way to contain this problem before it spreads like a virus," Professor Oak said.
"Just how do we stop it, Izzy?" Sora T asked.
"That I don't know. And if I did, then it wouldn't be a bigger problem than it already is," Izzy said.
Just before Kairi could say anything, Professor receives a message on the computer.
"A message," Professor Oak said. He answered it to see Molly's face on the screen.
"Mama, papa, and me just want to be by ourselves forever and ever, so leave us alone! Everybody stay away!" Molly said, cutting contact.
"Did she just say that her mother and father are there with her?" Professor Oak asked.
"It shouldn't be possible, because her dad vanished, didn't he?" Kairi asked.
"Right," Schuyler said.
"And her mom's in the hospital," Ethan added.
It then suddenly hit Sora. He figured out why Entei took his mom. It was because she was lonely, but he couldn't let her stay there. He refused to sit back and do nothing.
Back in the mansion, Molly laughed as she rode on Entei's back.
"This is just like before, papa," Molly said. Delia smiled as she watched Molly ride Entei.
Outside, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, and Togepi started to make their way the mansion.
"We are going to be in so much trouble if the others finds out about this," Kairi said.
"I know, but I can't do nothing about it. We gotta try," Sora said
"You're right, Sora. I want to help your mom just as bad as you do. I would feel the same way if it was my mom in there, and that's why I'm going with you," Kairi said. Sora smiled at her gratefully and nodded.
"Thanks, Kairi. I seriously don't know what I'd do without you," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Toge, Toge," Togepi chirped.
The couple were about to make their way to the mansion, but they're stopped by a familiar voice.
"Stop right there, the both of you," Riku said. They turned and saw Riku, Ash, Ethan, Leaf, Kris, Lyra, Eevee, and Marill behind them. Sora gave a scowl on his face.
"Don't try to stop us," Sora said.
"We're not here to stop you, Sora," Riku said. Sora's scowl turned into a puzzled face. "We're coming along."
"Besides, I don't think we can stop you even if we wanted to," Leaf said.
"So the 8 of us would have a better shot it than just the two of you," Kris said.
"And you two would catch a lot of hell if Professor Oak finds out," Ethan said.
"We can't ask you to come with us," Kairi said.
"No one asked us; we're here because we want to be," Ash said.
"Tracey and Naminé wanted to come with us, but we told them to stay behind and keep them occupied," Lyra said.
"Besides, we're all in this together," Kris said.
"You're right. We're all in this together. Thanks a lot," Sora said. He turned to the mansion. "Let's go."
With that said, Sora, Kairi, Riku, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Pikachu, Angel, Togepi, Eevee, and Marill started to head for the Hale mansion with Tracey, Naminé, Azurill, and Lisa watching.
"You sure this was a good idea, Naminé?" Tracey asked.
"To be honest, no. We really don't have a choice, Tracey. Riku knew he couldn't stop Sora even he wants to," Naminé said.
"I just hope they know what they're doing," Lisa said.
"Me too," Naminé said. "Be careful, Riku."
"Azu," Azurill chirped.
The group of 8 heads for the stream to get to the mansion. Riku reads the map towards the mansion. This catches Axel's attention. He remembered to get some information about the phenomenon, but Xemnas and Saïx didn't say how. He started to follow them.
"Okay, guys. We should be able to get inside through here," Riku said.
"Eevee," Eevee said.
"At least we're on the right track," Kairi said.
Up above, Team Rocket monitors them from their balloon.
"It's the twerps," Meowth said.
"They must be trying to get inside that house just like we are," James said.
"There has to be some super-rare Pokémon inside if they're going for it," Jessie said.
"But why are they wading through the stream to get there?" James asked.
"They're not wading, they're walking," Meowth said.
"They're wading!" Jessie argued.
"They're walking!" Meowth argued back.
"They're wading!" James added.
"They're walking!" Meowth argued.
"Are they walking through the stream?" Jessie asked.
"Yeah," Meowth answered.
"Then they're walking!" Jessie and James said. Before Meowth could argue some more, Entei busts through the roof. "Hey, what's that?"
"You think it's a Heartless?" James asked.
"I hope not," Jessie said.
"It don't look like one. It might be a Pokémon," Meowth said.
"Maybe it's harmless," Jessie said.
But she was wrong. Entei fired a crimson fireball at the balloon, making them go flying.
"LOOKS LIKE TEAM ROCKET'S-" Team Rocket were cut off when they crashed into the mansion. They held onto the crystal.
"Well, we survived that crash," Meowth said.
"But our balloon didn't," James said.
"Any idea what all this is?" Jessie asked.
"Not my idea of decorating," James said.
"This place is even loopier than a Kecleon," Meowth said.
"Well, we can always go down," Jessie said. She and her colleagues looked down and saw how deep it looked. "That is if we'll survive the fall going down."
"And that might be just three seconds if we start now," Meowth said.
Back in Molly's room, Entei returned after blasting Team Rocket's balloon.
"Did you make them go away?" Molly asked.
"Yes. They won't bother us again," Entei said.
The news coverage comes on again.
"Look, mama. They're showing our house on television again. It looks nice," Molly said.
"Yes," Delia said.
"We're coming to you live again as a hot air balloon was shot down just a few moments ago after invading the air space of the unusual crystal structure. It would seem that nothing can get through this fortress that's engulfed in-" she was cut off when she spots Skarmory fly up the stream, carrying Chikorita in her talons. "Wait a second! I think it's a Pokémon, flying up to the crystal structure! And it appears to be carrying a smaller Pokémon in its talons. She sets Chikorita down.
"Okay, Chikorita, use Vine Whip to pull us up," Sora said. Chikorita wraps her vines around Sora's waist with Pikachu on his shoulders. "Meet you at the top." Chikorita pulls Sora up.
At the Pokémon Center, Professor Oak, Yuta, Mirei Schuyler, Tai, Kari, and their friends sees him going up and they gasped.
"What's he doing?!" Joe exclaimed.
"Is he crazy?" Yolei asked.
"That boy is looking for trouble!" Professor Oak said.
"He's just looking for his mom," Naminé said.
"You three knew about this? And is my daughter down there, too?" Yuta asked.
"Yes, but don't be mad," Tracey said.
"Sora and Kairi were only going alone, but Riku and the others wanted to keep them out of trouble," Naminé said.
"Although I should to be, but I don't think we could have talked her out of it even if we tried," Mirei said.
"You're right, honey. All we can do is have faith," Yuta said.
Molly, Delia, and Entei watched it from their end.
"I don't understand, mama, why is that boy trying to get into our house?" Molly asked.
"That boy. He looks just like... just like," Delia said. Chikorita succeeds in pulling up Sora, so Delia snapped out of her trance.
"SORA KETCHUM, YOU GET DOWN FROM THERE, THIS INSTANT!" Delia exclaimed. Molly and Entei looked at her.
"Mama, what's wrong?" Molly asked.
"Uh, nothing," Delia said. Molly sees Pikachu jump off of his shoulders. Skarmory flies up and Sora calls her back.
"A Pikachu, A Chikorita, and a Skarmory. That boy must be a Pokémon Trainer, don't you, mama?" Molly asked.
"Yes," Delia said.
Back outside, Sora smiled.
"Great job, Chikorita. Now for everyone else," Sora said.
"Chiko," Chikorita said, using Vine Whip to pull up Riku and Eevee. Kairi places Togepi in her backpack.
"You'll stay nice and dry in there, Togepi," Kairi said.
"Togepi," Togepi chirped.
Chikorita brings her vines back down to pull up Kairi, Angel, and Leaf. Then Ash and Ethan. Kris, Lyra, and Marill were the last to be pulled up.
Molly noticed the two Eevee with them.
"Two Eevee and a Marill, too!" Molly said. "They must be Pokémon Trainers, too, papa."
"Papa?" Delia asked in a whisper and thought.
Back outside, Sora took out Chikorita's Pokéball.
"Great job, Chikorita. You deserve a good rest," Sora said, calling back Chikorita.
"Now that the easy part is behind us," Leaf said.
"It gets even harder going forward," Riku said.
"Well, it's too late to turn back now," Ethan said.
"Let's go," Sora said. The group walks forward and his PokéGear starts ringing. He answered it. "Uh, hello?"
"Sora, this is Tracey! Are you okay?" Tracey asked.
"We're okay," Sora said.
"Sora, we just saw you on TV! What in the hell were you thinking?!" Professor Oak exclaimed.
"I'm sorry, professor, I know I should have said something to you, but I just couldn't wait," Sora said.
"You got that right, you should have said something to me, but we'll talk about this later!" Professor Oak said.
"Sora, this is Schuyler. Did you and your team see any Unown?" Schuyler asked.
"No, not yet. I have a feeling that we'll see them when we get inside," Sora said.
"Sora, listen, I think we have an idea on why it's happening," Izzy said.
"What is it, Izzy?" Kairi asked.
"We had a look into Professor Hale's research and we found that the Unown has the ability to read people's minds," Izzy said. Sora remembered the Ruins of Alph.
"And they can bend reality to the imagination of the mind of the person they're reading," Sora said.
"How do you know that, Sora?" Professor Oak asked.
"Kairi and I met someone else doing research on the Unown, same as Spencer. A scientist named Dr. Cherise. And we saw this kind of thing before, but this is completely different," Sora said.
"Sora, I advise all of you to be careful in there. Don't let your guard down," Professor Oak said.
"Right," Sora said. Sora and his friends headed for a crystal gazebo, so Sora and Kairi have let out Cyndaquil and Quilava.
"Flamethrower!" Sora and Kairi ordered. Both Pokémon fired Flamethrower, making a big hole.
"Yes!" Sora said. The hole quickly closes up. "No!"
"Sora, I have an idea. How about we use Flamethrower, followed by Water Gun?" Kairi suggested.
"Good thinking," Sora said.
"Wani-Wani and I can help with that," Kris said, taking out her Pokéball.
"And so can Marill," Lyra said.
"It's worth a shot," Sora said.
"Flamethrower again!" Sora and Kairi ordered. Both Pokémon fired Flamethrower again.
"Okay, switch!" Sora said as Cyndaquil and Quilava shifts positions as Kris's Wani-Wani and Lyra's Marill stepped up.
"Water Gun!" Kris and Lyra ordered. Wani-Wani and Marill fired Water Gun, keeping the hole open.
"Pikachu, Eevee, Angel, you're first," Sora said. Pikachu, Angel, and Eevee go in first, being pushed in the mansion. Kris followed in as did Ethan. Ash and Leaf come in right behind them. Lyra comes behind them. Riku and Kairi comes behind them. Sora grabbed both the Totodile and Marill and ran towards the hole, quickly jumping inside. Axel arrived right behind the group.
"We made it inside," Kris said.
"Don't pat yourself on the back yet, because we've only just gotten started," Ash said.
"He's right. Anything can literally happen in here," Kairi said.
"Okay, guys. Let's get started," Sora said.
Now that Sora, Kairi, Riku, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, and the Pokémon have gotten inside, the next thing was to find Molly and Delia and get things back to normal. Will Sora find his mother or will it be over before it even starts? Find out when we press on even further.
