Episode 125: The Fortune Hunters
A few days have passed since the incident involving a horde of Unown. As Sora, Kairi, Tracey, Pikachu, Angel, and Togepi continued on their way towards Goldenrod City, Sora, Kairi, Tracey, and the Pokémon have come across a Girafarig.
"So, Kairi, you want to have a go at this one?" Sora asked.
"I'll have to go at it, Sora. Besides, I always wanted a Girafarig, after seeing Riku's," Kairi said. She took out a Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Flaaffy!" Her Pokéball opened and Flaaffy came right out to battle, catching Girafarig off guard. "Hit him with a Thunderbolt!" Flaaffy fired Thunderbolt at Girafarig, but he dodges, so he charges at Flaaffy and raised his hooves before bringing them down. "Dodge it!" Flaaffy tried to dodge, but Girafarig came too fast for the Wool Pokémon to run. "That was a Stomp!" Girafarig then became paralyzed from making contact with Flaaffy. "Use Signal Beam!" Flaaffy fired Signal Beam as Girafarig fired Psybeam. They collided with each other, resulting in an explosion. Both Pokémon have taken some heavy damage. Girafarig manages to stand back up and so did Flaaffy. "You still okay to go?"
"Flaaffy," Flaaffy said weakly with a nod.
"Try using Power Gem!" Kairi ordered. Flaaffy fired Power Gem, hitting Girafarig on the mark. Kairi took out a Pokéball and threw it. Girafarig flows inside and the Pokéball wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. Kairi's Pokémon Box goes off asking her if she wants to keep Girafarig with her. She chose to keep Girafarig in exchange for Celebi. She went and picked up the Pokéball containing Girafarig. "Now I have my very own Girafarig!"
"Eevee, vee!" Angel cheered.
"Toge, Toge," Togepi chirped.
"Way to go, Kairi," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Thanks, Sora," Kairi said, smiling. Kairi gave Sora a loving kiss on the cheek, making Tracey blush.
Unknown to them, an Aipom with a cowlick that is longer than the one Lisa has. The Aipom lands right on Sora's shoulder.
"Hey, what's going on?!" Sora asked as Aipom jumped right off.
"Sora, it's an Aipom!" Tracey said. Aipom places the palm on its head to indicate Sora's hairstyle, taunting him.
"Hey, that's not very nice," Sora said.
"She's playing with you," Kairi said.
"Playtime's over," Sora said, taking out a Pokéball and threw it. "Let's go, Chikorita!" His Pokéball opened and Chikorita came on out. "Use Razor Leaf!" Chikorita fired Razor Leaf, so Aipom dodges and lands a powerful punch attack onto Chikorita. This brings Aipom's attack power up. "That was Power-Up Punch. Aipom's attacks gets stronger from every use." Aipom fired Swift, hitting Chikorita. "Use Vine Whip!" Chikorita extends her vines and smacked Aipom hard. "That was great! Use Tackle!" Chikorita charges at Aipom, landing a hit. Aipom wasn't going to stay down that easily. Aipom came at Chikorita and smacked her with her tail, five times.
"That was Tail Slap!" Tracey said. Aipom then came at Chikorita and gave her some swipe with her fingers. "And that's Fury Swipes!" Chikorita then took in sunlight into her leaf. Sora knew Chikorita has just learned to use Solar Beam.
"Get ready to fire," Sora said. Aipom came at the Leaf Pokémon with a Power-Up Punch ready to go, so Chikorita fired Solar Beam, catching Aipom in the blast. Aipom was down for the count. Sora took out the Fast Ball he got from Tracey and threw it. Aipom flowed inside and the Pokéball wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. Sora's Pokémon Box goes off asking him if he wants to keep Aipom with him. He chose to keep Aipom in exchange for Houndour. He walked over to the Pokéball and picked it up. "I got myself an Aipom."
"Pi, Pikachu!" Pikachu said.
"That was a great catch, Sora," Tracey said.
"Thanks, Tracey," Sora said. "Think we should make a stop at a Pokémon Center in the next town over?"
"That's a great idea, because Girafarig and Aipom will need to be checked in," Kairi said.
"And while we're there, we should stack up on some supplies before we head for Goldenrod City, because we're low on potions and antidotes," Tracey said.
"Good thinking, Tracey," Sora said. "We'll have to restock on supplies while we're at it."
Both his girlfriend and the Pokémon Watcher agreed with him and heads for the next town over. As they arrived, they checked Girafarig and Aipom in to be healed. They didn't wait for long as Nurse Joy came back with their Pokéballs.
"Both your Aipom and Girafarig are fighting fit," Nurse Joy said.
"Thank you very much, Nurse Joy," Kairi said.
"We really appreciate it," Sora said, he took Aipom's Fast Ball as Kairi took Girafarig's Pokéball.
"You're very welcome, you two," Nurse Joy said.
"See? I told you I'm a Growlithe type," one boy said. This gets the attention of the couple and Tracey. They saw a bunch of little kids, looking over a book.
"Yeah, you did. Looks like I'm a Bulbasaur type," another boy said. They walked over to the kids who were laughing.
"Excuse us, but what are you doing?" Sora asked. The little kids looked up to Sora, Kairi, and Tracey.
"We were just reading this Pokémon fortune telling booking," one little girl said.
"Pokémon fortune telling book?" Sora asked.
"I heard of that. The type of Pokémon is determined by the birthdate. And the person gets good luck if you happen to have that exact Pokémon," Tracey said.
"My dad has one of those, too. You mind telling us where you got that book?" Kairi asked.
"We got it from an old man and lady who runs that Pokémon daycare center that just opened up," the first little girl said.
"Thanks," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
Sora, Kairi, Tracey, Pikachu, Angel, and Togepi reached the new daycare center and they received a copy of the book.
"Here you go," the old woman said. Kairi accepts the book.
"Thank you," Kairi said.
"You're welcome, young miss. Just look up your birthday and it'll tell you what Pokémon type you are; and it will tell you your Pokémon fortune," the old woman said.
"It's really quite so simple. If it says that you're a Nidoqueen type and you just happen to have a Nidoqueen, then you may have good luck," the old man said.
"Sounds simple to me," Sora said. Just then a boy came in with a copy of the book Kairi was given.
"The book says I'm a Seadra type personality. I should get a Seadra if I want good luck, right?" The boy asked.
"Yes, that's how it works," the old woman said.
"How I wonder how I'm going to trade a Seadra for my Golbat," the boy said, holding the Pokéball.
"Why not just leave your Golbat here and we can hold onto it until someone wants to trade Pokémon with you?" The old man suggested.
"Alright," the said, handing him his Pokéball.
"You see, we help Trainers swap their Pokémon, too. And if it helps, it has some tips on love and romance," the old woman said.
"It should be good to hold on to," Tracey said.
Later, Sora, Kairi, Tracey, Pikachu, Angel, and Togepi sit on a bench at the local park.
"Kairi, out of curiosity, you don't really believe in that sort thing, do you?" Sora asked.
"Not really, but it doesn't mean it's not interesting to look at," Kairi said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Toge, Toge," Togepi chirped.
"I guess you're right, Kairi. It's nice to have at least one book," Sora said.
"And here we go," Kairi said, opening the book. She looked inside the book and her expression did change to a suspicious expression. "This can't be right."
"What?" Sora asked.
"I might be imagining things, but I think this Pokémon fortune telling book is a fake," Kairi said.
"What do you mean a fake?" Sora asked.
"Pika?" Pikachu asked.
"Let me see that," Tracey said. She hands the Pokémon Watcher the book and he looked into it very thoroughly. He shared Kairi's expression. "You're not imagining things, Kairi. This Pokémon fortune telling book is a fake. The dates and the typings are all wrong."
Sora knew better than to argue with his girlfriend, especially when something didn't seem to smell right. It was his girlfriend who caught a whiff of it this time.
"What do you think we should do?" Sora asked.
"Maybe we should go have a word with someone who can tell the difference," Tracey said.
"But the question is who would know?" Kairi asked.
"You're right, it's easier said than done," Tracey deadpanned.
"But we should give it a try and be too quick to give up," Sora said. With that said, Sora, Kairi, Tracey, and the Pokémon started to find someone who would know, but they were surprised by the sudden appearance of two large, bulky, purple club wielding giant creatures. They wore animal skins. "Trickster's monsters!"
"I think they're ogres!" Tracey said.
"There are no such thing as ogres!" Kairi said.
"Tell that to them!" Tracey said. One of the ogres swung its club down, making them yelp. Kairi accidentally threw the Pokémon fortune telling book, so she summoned her Destiny's Embrace as Sora summoned his Kingdom Key and Oathkeeper.
"They look tough," Sora said.
"Sora, Kairi, here's what you should know about ogres! Ogres have thick muscles that are harder than stone!" Tracey said.
"Good to know! Do they have any weakness?" Sora asked.
"No, that any I could think of," Tracey said with regret.
"Great," Sora sighed.
"We can figure that out while we're fighting them," Kairi said.
"Right," Sora said. "Here they come!" The ogres swung their clubs at the couple, but they managed to dodge their clubs and they engaged the large brutish monsters.
Not too far, Team Rocket were making plans to capture Pikachu once again.
"Okay, this time we'll have the chance to get our hands on Pikachu and give it to the boss," Jessie said.
"And this time, no foul-ups," Meowth said, stepping on something. "Huh?" He looked down and spotted the Pokémon fortune telling book. "Hello, what's this?" He picked it up. He placed it in a rubber suit small enough to fit him. Just when Team Rocket were about to get started, they spotted the couple fighting the ogres.
"What did we just walk into?" James asked.
"Either it looks like Shrek's been bathing in grape jelly, or the twerps are in the middle of a fight," Jessie said.
"This is a perfect opportunity to snatch Pikachu!" Meowth said.
"Right!" Jessie and James said. Just then they were about to get Pikachu from Sora, one of the ogres swung its club, making Sora and Kairi duck. Team Rocket ends up clubbed instead.
"TEAM ROCKET'S BLASTING OFF AHEAD OF SCHEDULE!" Team Rocket shouted as they go flying. They land right on the ground with their rubber suits destroyed.
"Our rubber suits should have been ogre-proof," Meowth said.
"No fair, no fair! Those monsters are making us look like rank amateurs! That's unforgivable and unacceptable!" Jessie said. James spotted the book in Meowth's paws.
"What's that book you got there?" James asked.
"I found it just before those big guys sent us flying," Meowth said. Jessie instantly recognized the book.
"Wait, I know this book. It's a Pokémon fortune telling book. I always wanted one of these," Jessie said, taking the book. "Oh, I hope I'm a Ninetales type or maybe a Lapras type." She opened the book and her face lit up when she looked up her birthday. "Oh, I'm an Eevee type. It matches my personality perfectly!"
"Sure if it's Eevee and not evil?" Meowth asked. "Hey, can't you look up what Pokémon type am I?" Jessie gave him an annoyed expression.
"Meowth, in case you've forgotten, but you're a Pokémon," Jessie said. Meowth hung his head in defeat.
"I just keep on forgetting that I'm a Pokémon and not a human being," Meowth sighed.
"Okay, James, it's time to look up what Pokémon type you are," Jessie said.
"Oh, come on, Jess, it's complete nonsense. I don't believe this fortune telling stuff," James said.
"Aren't you the least bit curious to know your fortune, James?" Jessie asked, looking for James's birthday. She found the date in the book. "And here it is. It says that you're a-" She gasped in awe when she saw that James's sign is a Moltres type. "You're a Moltres type!"
"Moltres type? Him?" Meowth asked, taking the book and he looked into it and his jaw dropped. "Holy smokes! You're right!"
"Listen to this! The Moltres type will always prevail just like a real Moltres. The Moltres type personality soars high above all others?!" Jessie exclaimed as she read. James just laughed.
"It's a crock, Jess," James said.
"You're probably right, James. It is a crock," Jessie agreed.
"Nothing Moltressy about you, Jimmy-boy," Meowth said.
"Here's more. It says you'll have good luck with money and find something lost," Jessie said.
"Too bad those fortunes never come true anyway," James said. He spots a piece of Munny on the ground. "Hey, it's Munny! It must be my lucky day!" Jessie and Meowth were shocked to see good luck was kicking in.
"Hm, maybe it has something to do with good luck with money, huh, James?" Meowth asked.
"It's just a coincidence. Nothing special about it," James said. He felt something in his boot. "What is that in my boot?" He took it off and he shook it. A bottle cap fell right out. "Hey, my bottle cap! I've been looking for this for weeks. I was sure I lost it!"
"The book did say you would have good luck with money and find something lost!" Jessie said.
"Please, it was just another coincidence, nothing else," James said.
"There's one more thing. It says you should beware of danger around water," Jessie read the book as James heads for a drinking fountain.
"Come on, we're nowhere near a pond," James said. The drinking fountain squirts his face. "Whoa! Gadzooks! That silly little fortune telling book was right about everything! Let me see that book!" James took the book from Jessie's hands. "If this book says is true, then I am meant for greatness! I don't need a Keyblade to tell me that I am! Despite all of our bad luck, I can soar above all else!" James laughed like a mad man.
"Meowth, I think we just created a monster," Jessie said.
"I think you're right," Meowth agreed.
James ran towards a lamppost and climbed right up to the top.
"I, James, and a mighty Moltres! Like the real Moltres, I soar above all others, and shall rule over all others! First, I shall rule all of Team Rocket! And then, I shall rule over all Pokémon!" James yelled to the city.
"Our Moltres is sure full of himself," Jessie said.
"He's more full of hot air," Meowth said. James jumped down from the lamppost.
"Hear me! From this day forward, I will be the mighty Moltres and you shall be my subjects and revere me as your monarch!" James said.
"What?" Jessie asked.
"Monarch?" Meowth asked.
"Yes. I believe I saw a Pokémon daycare center here in town, so we shall drop in and steal every Pokémon in the daycare center! Come, we must make haste!" James said.
"James, wait!" Jessie said.
"Yeah, for us!" Meowth said.
Back in the fight, the couple were still holding their own against the ogres. The ogres swung their clubs at the couple, but they dodged and gave a swipe of their Keyblades at the purple-skinned monsters. Unfortunately, their attacks weren't enough to take them down.
"Tracey did say their muscles are harder than stone. Not so easy to crack," Sora said.
"Sora, how about I try some magic on them?" Kairi suggested.
"Go for it," Sora said. With that said, Kairi began to twirl her Keyblade as magic energy surrounds her Keyblade. She waved it and the magic manages to strike the ogres. It hit them hard. As Kairi's magic grew stronger, she felt lighter. The Destiny's Embrace levitates from her hands and Kairi does a pray position and spreads her arms as light shines brightly. The ogres then began to vanish in green flames. Sora was impressed by his girlfriend's magical gifts. "Wow, you're proving yourself to be even more magical."
"Well, I had a lot of practice," Kairi said. Sora smiled as did Kairi.
"Pika, Pi," Pikachu said.
"Eevee, vee," Angel swooned.
"Togepi," Togepi chirped.
"Now that the ogres are gone, shouldn't we find out who knows the book's a fake?" Tracey asked.
"You're right, Tracey. We're on a mission," Sora said. Kairi realized she lost the book.
"Oh no! I lost it!" Kairi gasped.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Wait, I think we should pay a visit to the daycare center. Those little kids did say they got those books from there," Sora pointed out.
"Of course, I should have thought of that," Kairi said.
"Come on, we should go," Tracey said.
With that said, Sora, Kairi, Tracey, Pikachu, Angel, and Togepi began to head for the daycare center, unaware that Trickster was watching them.
"You're much stronger than I anticipated. The girl's magic may have destroyed my ogres, but I still have plenty of monsters to spare," Trickster said.
Meanwhile, Team Rocket manages to find the daycare center at last.
"And here it is! The daycare center!" James said.
"Let's head for the back," Meowth said.
"Out of the question," James said, shaking his head. "James the Moltres does not sneak in the back! We shall head for the front door and do battle! Come!" James marched ahead to the front door as Jessie and Meowth followed. Team Rocket enters through. "The Moltres is here!"
"Pardon me?" The old woman asked.
"I said the Moltres is here! So, I have come to claim your Pokémon! Make way!" James said.
"Like hell, you are!" The old woman said, grabbing and takes him for a spin.
"Hey, let go of him!" Jessie barked.
"Get lost!" The old man said, grabbing Jessie and tossed her with James.
"How dare you treat James the Moltres this way!" James barked.
"I thought we would have the bad fortune of running into you again," the old woman said.
"Again? What do you mean again? We don't even know you!" Meowth said.
"But you'll know our motto," the old man said.
"We'll be glad to refresh your memory," the old woman said.
"Prepare for trouble!" The old woman
"And make it double!" The old man said.
"Here's our mission, so you better listen!"
"To infect the world with devastation!"
"To blight all people in every nation!"
"To denounce the goodness of truth and love!"
"To extend our wrath to the stars above!"
The elderly people tore off their disguises to reveal themselves.
"Cassidy!"
"And Butch, of course!"
"We're Team Rocket, circling Earth all day and night."
"Surrender to us now or you will surely lose the fight!"
"Raticate!"
"I should have known! Cassidy!" Jessie growled.
"And Botch!" James said.
"Not Botch! Butch! Can't you get my name right?!" Butch exclaimed.
"Now to make sure you three clowns stay out of our way," Cassidy said.
Cassidy and Butch tied Jessie, James, and Meowth up and threw threw them in a shed.
"If there's one thing I hate more than the Heartless, it's Cassidy!" Jessie growled.
"They probably cooking up some scheme," Meowth said.
"Fear not, for James the Moltres shall prevail no matter the obstacles in our way!" James said, breaking the rope. He banged the door opened. "James the Moltres have broken your bonds! Come with me and we will exact our revenge!"
"Um, sure," Jessie said.
"Whatever you say. You're the boss," Meowth added.
Outside, Sora, Kairi, Tracey, Pikachu, Angel, and Togepi arrived to the breeding center and walked toward the door. When they went inside, they didn't see the old man or the old woman anywhere in sight.
"Hello? Is anybody there?" Sora asked.
"Hello?" Kairi called out.
"This is strange. Where they could be?" Tracey asked.
"Something tells me that they're not out to lunch," Sora said.
"I think we should check around back," Kairi said. The boys agreed with her and they head for the back of the daycare center and saw them, unaware it's Cassidy and Butch. "There they are."
"Let's follow them," Sora said. They went inside and they saw Pokémon in cages, and they knew something wasn't right with the picture they were seeing. They saw the elderly people remove the clothing, revealing their true identities.
"It's a real pain to wear these," Cassidy said.
"I know. It was so tight on my face, I thought I was going to get wrinkles at my age," Butch said. Kairi gave a light gasp.
"Sora, it's those Team Rocket members we met in Domino City," Kairi said.
"Who are they?" Tracey asked.
"It's Cassidy and Butch," Sora said.
"How do you know them?" Tracey asked.
"They ran a phony daycare center in Domino City and they were trying to steal Pokémon, and frame Seto Kaiba, trying to pin him as a secret member of Team Rocket," Sora explained.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"What should we do?" Tracey asked.
"Keep an eye on them. See what they do," Kairi said.
"Right," Sora nodded with agreement. Butch and Cassidy stood in front of a screen with the Team Rocket logo on it. The screen switches to see Giovanni, Matori, Giovanni's Persian, and the Alolan Meowth. Sora silently growled when he saw the boss of Team Rocket. "Giovanni."
"I trust the operation is going smoothly," Giovanni said.
"The Pokémon fortune telling scheme was a huge success," Cassidy said.
"I knew it would be. People are always throwing away such good money on that kind nonsense," Giovanni said.
"We copied the fortune telling book we bought in Goldenrod City and sold thousands of copies mostly to unsuspecting kids," Butch said.
"And we've got dozen of Pokémon Trainers leaving their Pokémon with us, thinking that we'll swap them for the Pokémon that matches their personality types. They don't suspect a thing," Cassidy said.
"I'm anxious to see all these wonderful Pokémon. Close up your daycare center and bring them to me at once," Giovanni said.
"Yes, sir," Cassidy and Butch said as the screen turns off. Sora stepped out from his hiding spot as did Kairi and Tracey.
"Your little scheme ends here and now," Sora said. Butch and Cassidy quickly turned around.
"Who are you?" Cassidy asked.
"The ones who are going to put an end to your operations!" Sora said.
"You tricked a lot of little kids into giving you they're Pokémon! That's unforgivable!" Kairi disgustingly exclaimed.
"How low can you sink?" Tracey asked.
"Wait, I remember you now! You're those two brats who ruined our scheme in Domino's City!" Cassidy said.
"Payback time," Butch said. Cassidy took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Raticate!" Cassidy called out. Her Pokéball opened and her Raticate came right out. Butch took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Primeape!" Butch called out. His Pokéball opened and his Primeape came right out. Sora, Kairi, and Tracey took out their Pokéballs and threw them.
"Go! Aipom!" Sora called out.
"Go! Girafarig!" Kairi called out.
"I choose you, Scyther!" Tracey called out.
Their Pokéballs opened as their newest Pokémon came right out to battle against the Team Rocket agents.
"Raticate! Use Super Fang!" Cassidy ordered. Raticate came at the Pokémon with its incisors, glowing white.
"Aipom! Use Power-Up Punch!" Sora ordered. Aipom swung her tail and gave the mouse Pokémon a punch.
"Primeape! Use Dynamic Punch!" Butch ordered.
"Girafarig! Use Tackle!" Kairi ordered. Girafarig charges at Primeape and lands a hit.
"Scyther! Use Slash!" Tracey ordered. Scyther came at Raticate and Primeape and slashed at the Team Rocket Pokémon.
"Raticate! Use Skull Bash on that Scyther!" Cassidy ordered. Raticate lowered its head and charges at Scyther, knocking him out. Tracey called Scyther back.
"Rest up, Scyther," Tracey said. Suddenly, the whole building started to shake.
"Now what?" Sora asked.
He got his answer when a crane came crashing through the wall.
"I am the flame that burns the brightest! The flame that lights up the night! A flame that shadows the darkness! I am the flaming Moltres!" James announced as he laughed.
"Where did that costume come from?" Meowth asked.
"He probably got that from out the closet," Jessie said.
"What's he talking about?" Kairi asked.
"Don't know, don't want to think about it," Sora sighed. James notices the trio there.
"I'm glad you twerps are here, because I will steal all of your Pokémon as well, for I am James the Moltres!" James proclaimed.
"You clown, how did you get loose?" Cassidy asked.
"I have the heart of a Moltres! The heart of Moltres burns brighter than ever!" James said.
"Were you dropped on your head when you were a baby or are you just delusional?" Sora asked.
"Noghing you say will discourage James the Moltres! It was all thanks to a little book I recently picked up," James said.
"Uh, is the book called the Pokémon Fortune Telling, by any chance?" Kairi asked.
"Why, yes it is," James replied, making Sora doing a palm in the face.
"Of course it is. And no wonder we couldn't find it," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"I shall save you three for later!" James said as he "flew" to Cassidy and Butch. "Prepare knaves!" He took out a Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Victreebel!" His Victreebel came out and attempts to chomp on his head, but James gave him a kick to keep him off. "Listen, you belong to James the Moltres, the future ruler of all Pokémon, so ship up or ship out!" Victreebel compiles with James.
"Raticate! Super Fang!" Cassidy ordered.
"Use Leaf Blade!" James ordered. Victreebel lands a hit with Leaf Blade. "Excellent! Use Razor Leaf!" Victreebel fired Razor Leaf, hitting Raticate. "I am so proud of you, Victreebel! You're acting a Pokémon of a true Team Rocket leader!" Jessie and Meowth were speechless.
"James has gotten a boost in confidence, because he's not so whiny he usually is," Jessie said.
"Yeah, and even Victreebel is behaving himself," Meowth said.
"Come on, Botch! Wanna piece of me?" James challenged.
"It's Butch, not Botch, you looney bird! And shut your beak!" Butch shouted.
"For your information, we made the whole thing up!" Cassidy said. James was dumbfounded by this discovery.
"What?" James asked. He took out the book. "You mean this entire book is a work of fiction?!"
"Yes, it's all nonsense!" Cassidy said.
"And like the idiot that you are, you fell for it!" Butch said.
"And the part about me being. Moltres type is a-" James paused.
"A lie!" Butch said. The rope that was used to hold him up and he fell to the ground. The beak on his costumeis bent.
"The mighty Moltres is grounded," James said. Wobbuffet unexpectedly comes out of his Pokéball and pats James on the back.
"Wobbuffet," Wobbuffet said.
"Does that mean, I'm not an Eevee type after all?" Jessie asked, taking the news better than James is.
"Jessie, we've been hearing rumors that you owe a lot of money to the boss and that you've been behind on your payments," Cassidy said. Jessie and Meowth flinched. "You three were flushing some money down the toilet on some equipment just because you were chasing after one Pokémon when there are plenty of others. You were always pathetic! And if your mom were alive, she would be embarrassed to have you for a daughter!" Jessie growled angrily at the blonde.
"You are going to wish you didn't just say that to my face!" Jessie growled. "Wobbuffet! Go!" Cassidy just laughed.
"Wobbuffet? Is that your new Pokémon, Jessie? What can that bubbly blue blob do to me?"
"Oh, you're going to see," Jessie said.
"Raticate! Use Crunch!" Cassidy ordered. Raticate came at Wobbuffet with its incisors ready to bite.
"Use Counter!" Jessie ordered. Wobbuffet blocks Raticate's Crunch, sending it back.
"Raticate, what's wrong?" Cassidy asked. Jessie laughed.
"I guess my blue blob isn't so bubbly after all," Jessie said.
Over to Sora, Kairi, Tracey, and the Pokémon, they turned to each other.
"Guys, this is our chance to open the cages and let the Pokémon out," Tracey whispered.
"Right," the couple whispered back. They snuck off while the Team Rocket members were battling among themselves.
Meowth went up to James.
"What are you just sitting there for? We gotta battle these bums!" Meowth said.
"I am mighty, just like Moltres," James said. Meowth sighed.
"Have it your way, bird-brain," Meowth said.
"Primeape! Use Close Combat!" Butch ordered. Primeape came right at Wobbuffet.
"Use Counter!" Jessie ordered. Wobbuffet is sent flying at Jessie, landing on her. Primeape came at James and Meowth and gave them a hit with Close Combat, sending flying into Victreebel and lands on Jessie and Wobbuffet.
"Raticate! Use Skull Bash!" Cassidy ordered. Raticate charges at Jessie, James, Meowth, Wobbuffet, and Victreebel, sending them flying. James spreads his wings like a Moltres.
"I told you I would triumph, so I'm flying high!" James said.
"So, why do I feel low?" Meowth asked.
"LOOKS LIKE TEAM ROCKET'S BLASTING OFF AGAIN!" Jessie, James, and Meowth shouted as they go flying. A star twinkles in the distance.
Sora and Kairi summoned their Keyblades and used them to unlock the locks. They dismissed their Keyblades.
"You're all free now," Kairi said.
"Not so fast!" Cassidy called out, finally catching up. They turned around and saw the Team Rocket agents. "We got those three losers out of the way, now the time's to get you troublemakers out of our hair, too."
"This should be fun," Butch said.
"Not as fun as you think, Butch! Aipom! Use Tail Slap!" Sora ordered. Aipom came at Primeape and gave it a couple of slaps with its tail.
"Glad you got my name right, don't matter to me! Use Close Combat!" Butch ordered. Primeape came at Aipom, ready to strike.
"Girafarig! Use Psybeam!" Kairi ordered. Girafarig fired Psybeam at Primeape, dealing some heavy damage. "Use Comfusion!" Girafarig uses his psychic powers to lift up both Raticate and Primeape in the air and sent them back to their Trainers.
"Aipom! Use Swift!" Sora ordered. Aipom swung her tail. The stars struck them hard. "If you go and trick other people into giving you their Pokémon, it's always going to be your unlucky day."
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
The police arrived and arrested Cassidy and Butch for their crimes.
"We'll make certain that all the Pokémon they have in their possession will be returned to their rightful Trainers," Officer Jenny said.
"That's very good to know, officer," Tracey said. A police officer walked up to Officer Jenny with the copy that Team Rocket dropped.
"I found a copy, ma'am," the policeman said.
"So, that's the fake Pokémon fortune telling book that was the rave of the town. It's too bad they didn't do a very good job in copying the real thing," Officer Jenny said, taking out the real Pokémon fortune telling book.
"Now that's the book I know," Kairi said.
"It was a good thing you caught it right away, because this had me completely fooled," Sora said.
"It fooled a lot of people," Kairi said.
"And those two will have a whole lot to think about while they're in jail," Tracey said.
"Amen to that, brother," Sora said.
The Pokémon fortune scam has been foiled thanks to Kairi's keen eyes and their efforts. I'm no fortune teller, but I predict that they'll have a bright future ahead of them.
Over to Team Rocket, they get sent to the other side of town. James was still down about the truth of him not being a Moltres type after all.
"I should have known better than to believe in that fortune telling hooey," James said.
"In the words of Donald Duck, aw, phooey," Meowth said in a rhyme.
"It's devastating to have a Moltres type personality and then lose it," James said.
"You were better off without a personality," Meowth said. Jessie spots a copy of the real Pokémon fortune telling book on a shelf.
"Look! That's gotta be the real Pokémon fortune telling book over there!" Jessie said. She took the book off the shelf.
"Let me see that!" James said, snatching the book and opened it. "Let's see if I'm a Moltres type." He found his birthday. "And here's my birthday." He gasped. "Oh crap! It can't be!"
