Episode 133: Power Play

A couple of days came since they made an unscheduled stop at a Pokémon dojo. By then, Sora, Kairi, Tracey, Pikachu, Angel, and Togepi continued onward towards Ecruteak City.

Along the way, Kairi is challenged into a Pokémon battle by a Trainer wearing a baseball cap.

"You any good in a Pokémon battle, red?" The Trainer asked.

"I am. I take it that you're challenging me into a battle?" Kairi asked.

"I am! Let's make it a three-on-three battle," the Trainer said.

"Fine with me," Kairi said. The Trainer took his first Pokéball out first.

"Okay, Ursaring! Go!" The boy called out as he threw it. Ursaring came on out to battle. Kairi took out her Pokéball and threw it.

"Go! Ledyba!" Kairi called out. Ledyba came on out to battle.

"Ursaring! Use Slash!" The Trainer ordered.

"Ledyba! Use Supersonic!" Kairi ordered. Ledyba fired Supersonic at Ursaring, confusing it. "Use Comet Punch!" Ledyba lands a couple of punches on it. This shakes off Ursaring's confusion.

"Ursaring! Use Shadow Claw!" The Trainer ordered. Ursaring came at the ladybug-like Pokémon with its claw emitting a shadowy aura and swipes at Ledyba hard.

"Ledyba! Use Mach Punch!" Kairi ordered. Ledyba came at Ursaring and lands a punch onto Ursaring.

"Don't take that laying down, Ursaring! Use Fire Punch!" The Trainer ordered. Ursaring gave Ledyba a fiery punch, making Ledyba land on the ground. Ledyba then started to evolve. Ledyba has become a coleopeteran insectoid Pokémon that resembles a slightly humanoid ladybug. She has a pair of short, black antennae, a black spot in the center of her forehead and on the back of her head, blue eyes, and a cream-colored area around its mouth; the rest of her head is red. Her back and the top of her elytra are red with black spots, while the underside of her body and elytra are cream-colored. Underneath her wing covers are a pair of clear wings. Her neck and limbs are black. She has four arms with white hands that resemble boxing gloves and a pair of legs with red feet.

"Wow, Ledyba evolved!" Sora said.

"Ledyba is now a Ledian!" Tracey said. Kairi took out her Pokédex and scanned her newly evolved Pokémon. The Ledian image on her Pokédex has larger antenna than hers.

Ledian, the Five Star Pokémon

The evolved form of Ledyba

Type: Bug/Flying

It is said that in lands with clean air, where the stars fill the sky, there live Ledian in countless numbers. There is a good reason for this—the Pokémon uses the light of the stars as its energy.

"All that training has paid off. Ledian! Use Mach Punch!" Kairi ordered. Ledian came at Ursaring with a much stronger Mach Punch, landing a hit. "Use Silver Wind!" Ledian flapped her wings fast, blowing silver sparkling wind at the Hibernator Pokémon, resulting in a knockout.

"Ah! Ursaring!" The Trainer gasped.

"That was amazing Ledian!" Kairi said.

"Ledian!" Ledian said. Her opponent called back his Ursaring and smiled.

"Great hustle, Ursaring. Get yourself a good, long rest," the Trainer said. He took out his next Pokéball. "Not bad, red, but my next one's nothing to sneeze at!" He threw it. "Your turn now, Poliwrath!" His Pokéball opened and his Poliwrath emerged from inside.

"Poliwrath, Poliwrath," Poliwrath said. Kairi called back Ledian and took out her next Pokéball and threw it.

"You're up now, Sunflora!" Kairi called out. Sunflora emerged from inside.

"Sunflora, flora!" Sunflora said.

"Poliwrath! Use Dynamic Punch!" The Trainer ordered. Poliwrath came at Sunflora with a Dynamic Punch.

"Dodge and use Razor Leaf!" Kairi ordered. Sunflora dodges Poliwrath's attack and fired Razor Leaf, hitting Poliwrath on the mark.

"That is not going to stop my Poliwrath! Use Submission!" The Trainer ordered. Poliwrath grabbed Sunflora and rolls on the ground. Poliwrtah tosses the sunflower-like Pokémon. "Use Hyper Beam!" Poliwrath fired Hyper Beam and deals Sunflora so much damage. Sunflora was taken down. Kairi called Sunflora back inside.

"It's okay, Sunflora. You did your best," Kairi said.

"My Poliwrath is never afraid of any Grass-type Pokémon!" The Trainer said.

"Wrath!" Poliwrath said.

"You raised your Poliwrath well. But the next round will decide the winner," Kairi said.

"How right you are, red," the Trainer said, taking out a Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Mr. Mime!" His Pokéball opened and his Mr. Mime came right out to battle. This Mr. Mime has light green where the parts are normally pink. Stars swirls around Mr. Mime upon entry. Kairi took out another Pokéball and threw it.

"Go! Misdreavus!" Kairi called out. Misdreavus came on out to battle against Mr. Mime.

"Mr. Mime! Use Shadow Ball!" The Trainer ordered. Mr. Mime forms a ball of shadow at the Screech Pokémon.

"Dodge and use Will-O-Wisp!" Kairi ordered. Misdreavus's body became outlined in orange energy. She forms a ring of light purple and pink fireballs with a white core around her body. She then launches the fireballs at Mr. Mime, leaving it burned.

"That's a good move. Will-O-Wisp leaves the target burned when it makes contact," Sora said.

"And that means the attack power will he weaker than normally when a Pokémon is burned," Tracey said.

"Use Hex!" Kairi ordered. Dark purple wisps of energy appear around Misdreavus, and Mr. Mime becomes surrounded in purple energy, hurting it. It deals heavy damage due to its burn.

"Yes! Hex deals double damage when a Pokémon is afflicted with a status condition," Sora said.

"Pikachu," Pikachu said.

"Misdreavus! Use Psychic!" Kairi ordered. Misdreavus unleashed Psychic at Mr. Mime.

"Use Protect!" The Trainer ordered. Mr. Mime forms a protective barrier and blocked Psybeam and is hurt from the burns. "Use Shadow Ball!" Mr. Mime forms a ball of shadow and sends it at Misdreavus. It came too fast for Misdreavus to dodge. "Use Shadow Ball again!"

"Use Hex!" Kairi ordered. Misdreavus gave Mr. Mime another hit with Hex, dealing some heavy damage. "Use Shadow Ball!" Misdreavus forms Shadow Ball and sends it right at Mr. Mime, dealing some heavy damage and it results in a knockout. The Trainer called Mr. Mime back.

"You put up a great fight, Mr. Mime. Take a good long rest," the Trainer said. He walked over to Kairi with a smile. "That was very impressive, red. You're one of the toughest Trainers I ever faced."

"Thank you. You're a pretty good Trainer, too. And your Pokémon are all strong," Kairi said.

"Thanks," the Trainer said. He looked at Misdreavus. "Say, do you happen to have a Dusk Stone?"

"Yeah, but why?" Kairi asked.

"Your Misdreavus looks ready to evolve into a Mismagius. Of course, that'll be your choice if you want to evolve your Misdreavus into a Mismagius if you want," the Trainer said. Kairi looked at Mismagius and she took out a Dusk Stone she had.

"What do you say, Misdreavus? You wanna evolve?" Kairi asked.

"Misdreavus!" Misdreavus said, touching the Dusk Stone. Misdreavus began to evolve. Misdreavus has become a purple, ghost-like Pokémon. It has a round head with elaborate tufts resembling a witch's hat atop it. The tips of the tufts are paler than most of the body. It has a thin, red mouth that resembles the letter "W." Below its head, Mismagius has a short, thorax-like lump from which its body connects. Three elliptical red spheres surround the upper portion of its body. There are extensions on the sides of its lower body with the foremost ones tattered compared to rear ones. This gives the Pokémon the appearance of wearing some kind of cloak. Kairi took out her Pokédex and scanned her newly evolved Pokémon.

Mismagius, the Magical Pokémon

The evolved form of Misdreavus

Type: Ghost

The incantations Mismagius chants can ward against misfortune, so a custom exists of inviting it into one's home. Incur the Pokémon's displeasure, however, and disaster will surely ensue.

"How magical," Kairi said, putting her Pokédex away.

After the battle Kairi had, they bumped into a pair of familiar faces. It was Ethan and his Quilava.

"Ethan!" Sora called out. Ethan turned to Sora and beamed.

"Hey Sora! It's been a little while," Ethan greeted.

"Yeah it has," Sora said.

"Pikachu," Pikachu nodded.

"Lava, Quilava, Lava!" Quilava said.

"So, what brings you here?" Ethan asked.

"On our way to Ecruteak City," Sora said.

"Going for a Gym Badge, huh? You're well on your way," Ethan said.

"What about you, Ethan?" Sora asked.

"Same with me," Ethan said. "And I'll tell you, that Whitney really gave me a real hard time when I tried again."

"You mean-?" Sora asked.

"I came bouncing back in the second round," Ethan said.

"That's good to hear," Sora said. "I knew you'd get it done. Sorry Kairi and I missed it."

"It's okay. I heard Professor Oak was kidnapped by two Team Rocket members, and not meaning the losers," Ethan said.

"Cassidy and Butch. The Team Rocket members we busted for that phony fortune teller bit," Sora said. "Kairi and I were surprised to see them so soon after we foiled their plan for the second time."

"At least the Pokérus is out of their hands," Kairi said.

"I don't even want to think about what kind of damage they'll do with it," Sora said.

Ethan and his Quilava joined Sora, Kairi, Tracey, and the Pokémon for a little while when they heard a new voice while walking down a mountain path.

"I'm Alex Davis from Cherrygrove City, and I'm challenging you into a Pokémon battle!" A boy's voice said.

"I accept your challenge!" A familiar voice said, accepting the challenge.

"Gary?" Sora asked. He looked down and he saw a boy wearing a bandana and an Alakazam standing beside him. Gary has an Umbreon standing with him. "It is! It's Gary!"

"Who?" Tracey asked.

"You know him, Sora?" Ethan asked.

"We both do. Sora knew him back when he was a little kid with Ash and Leaf. He shares a rivalry with Sora and Ash. Gary battled Ash in the Indigo Plateau Pokémon League and lost. He's also Professor Oak's grandson," Kairi said.

"Professor Oak's grandson?" Tracey asked.

"Well, this is your first battle in a while, so make me proud," Gary said.

"Umre," Umbreon said.

"Okay, let's get this over with," Gary said. Alex Davis growled.

"I don't like your attitude! Alakazam! Zap Cannon!" Alex Davis ordered. Alakazam crossed its two spoons together and creates a yellow orb of electricity with a black and white center in front of its body. It then separates its spoons and fires the orb at Umbreon.

"Dodge it, Umbreon!" Gary called out. Umbreon jumped to dodge Alakazam's Zap Cannon.

"Alakazam! Use Psychic!" Alex Davis ordered. Alakazam unleashes Psychic, but it does nothing to Umbreon, much to his surprise. "Psychic didn't work?!"

"Of course it didn't work," Gary stated. "You should have known better than to use a Psychic-type attack against a Dark-type Pokémon like an Umbreon. That's a mistake that'll cost you the match."

"I don't like Gary's attitude either, but he's right. When going up against a Dark-type Pokémon, you should be ready for what they dish out," Sora said.

"Chu," Pikachu said.

"Use Headbutt!" Alex Davis ordered. Alakazam came rushing at Umbreon with Headbutt.

"Dodge it!" Gary called out. Umbreon quickly dodges by jumping out of the way of Alakazam's attack. "Use Feint Attack!" Umbreon vanishes for a moment before landing a devastating tackle on it.

"Alakazam!" Alex Davis exclaimed. Alakazam lands on its feet, much to his delight. "Use Focus Punch!" Alakazam builds up its focus and comes at the Moonlight Pokémon with a punch attack, ready to go.

"Use Agility!" Gary ordered. Umbreon runs around to dodge Alakazam's punches.

"That Umbreon is fast," Ethan said.

"He must have been working on Umbreon's speed to dodge Fighting-type moves like Focus Punch," Kairi said.

"Eevee," Angel said.

Alakazam was now exhausted from all the times it missed its opponent. Gary smugly grinned, seeing it as an opportunity to end it quickly.

"I think we're about done here," Gary said.

"That's what you think! Alakazam! Use Double Team!" Alex Davis ordered. Gary grinned some more.

"Not bad, but not good enough. Umbreon! Use Feint Attack!" Gary ordered. Umbreon lands a hit with Feint Attack. The real Alakazam was found and the copies all disappeared.

"Not bad. Feint Attack always lands a hit even if the Pokémon's evasion is at a high rate," Tracey said.

"That's just like Gary to use a move like that," Sora said.

"Pika," Pikachu said.

"Use Quick Attack!" Gary ordered. Umbreon dashes at Alakazam with a Quick Attack.

"Alakazam! Use Teleport!" Alex Davis ordered. Alakazam teleports out of the way before it could land a hit. "Use Hyper Beam!" The invisible Alakazam prepares to fire Hyper Beam. Gary was quick to notice a slight glimmer from his left.

"It's coming from the left!" Gary warned. Umbreon complied with Gary and jumped out of the way before Alakazam fired Hyper Beam. "Now, use Dark Pulse!" Umbreon fired Dark Pulse, landing a heavy blow on the Psi Pokémon, making it hit a tree and resulting in a knockout.

"Alakazam!" Alex Davis gasped, running up to it.

"Gary won," Ethan said.

"You put up a great battle. You deserve a long rest," Alex Davis said, calling Umbreon back.

Gary pets Umbreon on the head, but Sora quickly noticed a Dusk lurking near him in the shrubs.

"Kairi, Ethan, look," Sora said. They saw the Dusk in the shrubs.

"A Nobody. That means Organization XIII," Ethan said.

"You're right. Let's go," Kairi said.

With that said, Sora, Kairi, Ethan, Pikachu, Angel, Togepi, and Quilava slides down the moutain trail and jumped, getting Gary's attention. Sora, Kairi, and Ethan summoned their Keyblades.

"Sora? Kairi?" Gary asked. The Dusk leapt out and attacked. "What is that?" Sora swung his Kingdom Key, but it swerved out of the way. Just then, several Samurais, Reapers, and Ninjas appeared before them. "What are those?"

"We'll explain later! We'll deal with them!" Sora said.

"If you think I'm going to do what you say, then you don-" Gary was cut off.

"Don't argue with me! Just trust me on this!" Sora said.

"Fine," Gary said as he and Umbreon stepped out of harm's way.

With Gary out of harm's way, the Keyblade wielding Pokémon Trainers engaged the Nobodies. The reapers swung their syches, but they dodged. Quilava attacks with Flamethrower as Pikachu attacks with Thunderbolt. The Ninjas threw their kunais at them, but Ethan blocked with his Keyblade and heads right for one, but a Samurai blocked with its sword and pushes him back. Kairi struck down the attacking Dusks. Several other Dusks and Creepers appeared and attacked. Pikachu, Angel, and Quilava combined their efforts and attacked the weaker Nobodies as one of the Reapers swung its syche at them, but Sora slashed through the Nobody through the waist. The Ninjas fired lightning from their hands, but Kairi fought back by unleashing her water magic at them, making them soaked. The Ninjas all bursts as they were exposed to the water. They fought on until the last of the Nobodies are dealt with.

"That takes care of them," Sora said.

"Impressive," a new voice said. A hooded figure appeared and started to clap his hands. "You should be proud." The voice belonged to Marluxia who is wearing his hood.

"You're one of them!" Sora said.

"What do you want?" Ethan asked.

"Why assume I want anything?" Marluxia asked.

"Because you're just showing up when no one wanted you around!" Ethan said.

"Lava!" Quilava nodded.

"Sora, who's this guy?" Gary asked.

"It's a very long story," Sora said.

"A story that no longer involves you, Sora," Marluxia said.

"What makes you say that?" Sora asked.

"Who are you to decide that?" Kairi asked.

"Let us say I know something you do not, and leave it at that," Marluxia said.

"Will you just get right to the point?" Ethan asked. "And why do you want to get rid of Sora that bad?"

"I just told you. But I will admit, you have grown stronger since I first saw you in Catallia City," Marluxia said. Kairi then figured it out.

"You were the one who gave the Black Arachnid the ability to control those Nobodies, weren't you?" Kairi asked.

"Very perceptive, Kairi. Yes, I did. It was his desire to avenge his disgraced ancestor that led him to his defeat. But it doesn't matter to me if you know or not. I would fight you three here, but I decided to take my leave and allow my other fellow members have the chance to deal with you. I do hope you last long until the next time our paths cross," Marluxia said, vanishing into the corridor of darkness.

"Hey, wait!" Sora said. Ethan stopped him.

"Let him go, Sora! He's not worth it," Ethan said.

"I'm not sure what that guy's beef is with you, but I'm certain you must have gotten on his bad side if you're a target," Gary said. Sora said nothing. Gary said nothing as well and took off.

Later as the sun sets, Sora, Kairi, Tracey, Ethan, Pikachu, Angel, Togepi, and Quilava arrived into the nearest town as Sora was thinking about Marluxia showing up. He wondered if they could be beaten or not.

"Sora, you doing okay?" Kairi asked.

"I would be fine if it weren't that Organization XIII guy showing up when he did," Sora said.

"Don't let him get to you, Sora. It sounds like he was trying to get under your skin, and he'll only do it if you let him," Tracey said.

"Tracey's right, Sora. They'll only win if you let them," Ethan said. Sora smiled.

"Thanks, guys," Sora said.

Unknown to them, Team Rocket spots them as they arrived to the local Pokémon Center.

"I spy with my little eye, the twerps down below and walking inside the Pokémon Center," Jessie said.

"I say we sneak on down there and grab some grub to go when we get down there?" James suggested.

"Now that's an excellent plan there, James. Wouldn't you agree, Meowth?" Jessie asked. Meowth didn't agree as he watches the sunset with a blissful smile.

"Ah, there is nothing like a beautiful sunset to put one's soul at ease," Meowth said. Wobbuffet popped out of his Pokéball once again.

"Wobbuffet!" Wobbuffet said. This sours Meowth's mood quick.

"Hey, shut up! I'm trying to have some bliss and you're ruining it for me!" Meowth said, preparing to scratch Wobbuffet in the face. He uses Counter to make Meowth's attack bounce back and scratch his face. "Ow, ow, ow, ow!"

"I don't know what you're complaining about, Jessie, but Wobbuffet's Counter is really useful," James said. Jessie then gets an idea.

"By George, I think you're right! What's better than an ordinary Wobbuffet is a 50 foot Wobbuffet!" Jessie said. James just looked at her.

"What do you mean by 50 foot Wobbuffet?" James asked.

"Okay, you know Wobbuffet can reflect any attack with double the damage, right?" Jessie asked.

"Yeah," James answered.

"What if we build a robot that can reflect anything the twerps throws at us? That way, it'll make catching Pikachu a walk in the park and we can get out of our debt with the boss once and for all!" Jessie said.

"Hey, that's a great idea, but how are we going to get the parts to build the robot? The boss just cut us off and he won't send us a single penny until we pay up," James pointed out.

"Leave that to me," Jessie said.

Inside the Pokémon Center, Sora's smartphone starts ringing. He answered it.

"Hello?" Sora answered. The image of Delia appeared on the phone's screen.

"Hello, Sora," Delia said.

"Mom? Hey, how's it going?" Sora asked.

"Sora, didn't you hear from your sister?" Delia asked.

"No. Why?" Sora asked.

"Because I found a note on her pillow and it says she's heading for the Johto region, and it's not a coincidence that you happen to be there, too," Delia said. Sora sighed.

"Karen left home?" Sora asked.

"She did without telling me in person. So, I thought I'd ask you for a favor and have a word with her for me," Delia said.

"Don't worry, mom. I'm going to do exactly that and send her your way after I do," Sora said.

"I know I can count on you, Sora. That's all I wanted to say," Delia said, hanging up.

"Why would Karen come here in Johto?" Kairi asked.

"Not sure, but I think I'm just going to soften her up before my mom chews her out," Sora said.

"Pikachu," Pikachu said.

Just then, the power goes out, alarming the group.

"Ooh, now what?" Sora asked.

Over to the counter, Nurse Joy was trying to call the power plant, but there was no response.

"No answer," Nurse Joy said. Sora and his friends approached the young nurse.

"Nurse Joy, what's going on?" Kairi asked.

"The power's gone out. I've been trying to contact the power plant, but no one seems to be answering," Nurse Joy said.

"Where's the power plant?" Tracey asked.

"Up in the mountains just north of the city," Nurse Joy said.

"Okay, let's go," Sora said.

With that said, Sora, Kairi, Tracey, Ethan, Pikachu, Angel, Togepi, and Quilava started to head for north.

Meanwhile, Gary is pouring some Pokémon food into a bowl as he's currently camping.

"Dinnertime, Umbreon," Gary said. He noticed his Umbreon was staring down the mountain. He walked over and saw that the entire city isn't blazing with lights. "What happened to all the lights? Must be a blackout."

"You think it might be a Heartless that can absorb electricity?" Tracey asked. This grabs the attention of Gary and Umbreon.

"Anything is possible, and that's why we're heading to the source! If it is a Heartless, then we'll have to get it before it does some more damage!" Sora said.

"Sora's right. Any Heartless out on the loose is something we don't want! The same for Organization XIII and the Nobodies!" Ethan said.

"A blackout caused by a Heartless? This is worth looking into," Gary said.

Over to the power plant, the plant employees are tied up and a giant cable is leading through the forest to reveal a giant robot is connected to the cord.

"We're almost ready," James said.

"All systems are fully charged," Meowth said.

"Then it's time to activate the turbo kick engine," Jessie said.

"Turbo kick engine activated," James said, pushing a lever upwards. It activates the turbo kick engine. James is monitoring the engine's progress. "Turbo kick engine rising. Turbo kick engine now at full power."

"And the coordinates are locked onto the Pokémon Center right in town," Meowth said.

"Okay, team, the plan is to capture Pikachu and any other rare Pokémon we can get our hands on," Jessie said.

"Roger," James and Meowth said in unison.

"The plan is unusually smoothly," James said.

"Maybe it's our lucky day," Meowth said.

"Don't get too cocky. We can't afford any mistakes in this important mission! We finally have an unbeatable robot!" Jessie said. Beeping is heard and Meowth looks on the scanner.

"Our scanners just picked up something moving right towards the power plant," Meowth said.

"Display it on the main screen," Jessie said.

"Roger," Meowth said, displaying the surveillance of Sora, Kairi, Tracey, Ethan, Pikachu, Angel, Togepi, and Quilava running through the woods.

"It's the twerps and their heading right our way," James said.

"Then it really is our lucky day. The twerps are going to have a taste of real power. It'll make their Keyblades look like useless toys," Jessie said.

Sora, Kairi, Tracey, Ethan, Pikachu, Angel, Togepi, and Quilava sees the power plant ahead of them.

"Look! Those guys are tied up!" Ethan said.

"Let's set them free," Kairi said.

"Right," Sora agreed. Just when they were about to get towards the power plant and rescue the employees, a blue piece of metal stomps in front of them. It belonged to a giant robot Wobbuffet. "What's this ugly thing?"

"Prepare for trouble, we got a new toy!" Jessie said.

"Make it double, we've got you now, boy!" James said.

"Protect the world from devastation!"

"To unite all peoples to our nation!"

"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"

"To extend our reach to the stars above!"

"Jessie!"

"James!"

"Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light!"

"Surrender now or prepare to fight!"

"Meowth! That's right!"

"Wobbuffet!"

"Mime, Mime!"

"Team Rocket, I should have guessed it was you morons who raided the electric plant!" Sora said. Jessie laughed nervously.

"Unfortunately yes, because we needed more electricity than we thought to power up our giant mechanical Wobbuffet," Jessie said.

"Also, we had to take some scrap from the junkyard to build the robot since our boss won't give us the dough to build it until we paid what we owe," James added.

"But this with this machine, you'll never be able to beat us again, twerps," Jessie said.

"And tonight's the night we'll finally put you in your place and take your Pikachu," James said. They enter the robot.

"That's what you idiots think! Pikachu! Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu fired Thunderbolt right at the robot, but it sucked in the electricity and sends it back at them. Sora and Kairi quickly summoned their Keyblades and cast their reflect spell to block the electricity, but the jolt of electricity only pushes them back. The robot steps forward. Sora took out a Pokéball. "Okay, electricity won't cut it, but water will!" He threw it. "Go! Totodile!" His Pokéball opened and Totodile came on out to battle. "Water Gun!" Totodile fired Water Gun, but it gets sucked up and sent back at them, but they ran to avoid it again. "Man, that piece of junk is tough."

"Tough and invincible!" Jessie said. "Now hand over Pikachu!"

"You can get Pikachu over my dead body!" Sora said.

"Then we'll have to help ourselves then!" Jessie said.

"Let's use the Robo Wobbuffet Punch!" Meowth said.

"Acitvate Wobbuffet Punch!" Jessie ordered. The robot moves in to deliever a punch onto them, but the robot stopped as the cable is at its limit.

"Hey, what's going on?!" Meowth exclaimed.

"We're not moving!" James said.

"Because the cable's too short!" Jessie said.

"Too short?!" James and Meowth asked.

"How could it be too short? It was the longest cable we could find!" James said.

"Feint Attack!" Gary ordered as he and Umbreon arrived. Umbreon tackles the cable, cutting it. Sora, Kairi, Tracey, Ethan, and the Pokémon turned to see Gary.

"Good of you to show up!" Sora said. "How about we show these morons?"

"You've read my mind, Sora!" Gary said.

Sora, Kairi, Gary, Tracey, Ethan, and the Pokémon ran past the robot as it is unable to move.

"No power and we can't move!" James said. Jessie growled.

"Just when things were going as planned, this happened! We gotta get moving! And I know how!" Jessie exclaimed.

Over to the plant, they untied the plant workers.

"Thanks for the help, kids," one of the workers said.

"How soon will you get the power back on?" Kairi asked.

"Not sure, but we think it may take a while," another plant worker said.

"We gotta get the power back on just so Nurse Joy can treat the injured Pokémon," Ethan said.

"He's right. We gotta find a way to get it done fast," Sora said.

"Mike, don't you think we can get the power back on from the secondary dam, we might get back online faster," the second plant worker said.

"You're right. We just have to get the watergate to open up," Mike said.

"I can take care of that," Gary said. He turned to Umbreon. "Let's go, Umbreon!" Umbreon nodded.

"Right behind you!" Sora said as he and Pikachu followed, but Team Rocket stepped in.

"Not so fast!" Jessie said.

"Not again!" Kairi said.

"Eevee!" Angel said.

Inside the robot, James and Meowth are peddaling to restore the power.

"Good thing I came up with this backup plan in such an emergency!" Jessie said.

"Now, let's use the Wobbuffet Punch!" Jessie said. The robot attempts to land a punch, but a pink mark appeared on the arm and it fell off. "What the hell is going on?!"

"I think I know what," James said.

Jessie screamed when she looked at the screen. It was a giant Nobody with a large flower on top and two arms with scythes at the ends, as well as a billowing tattered cloak and a long thin spire going down from its body. The giant Nobody is known as the Specter.

"A Nobody!" Jessie exclaimed. "Those Organization assholes are really getting on my every nerve!"

"You are nothing but a hindrance!" Marluxia's voice is heard. A flurry of cherry blossom petals appear in and tears the robot into shreds. They fell onto the ground as the robot completely vanished. "You will always fail!" The Specter vanished. Sora figured the Organization had no intention of sharing Sora with the Moron Trio, but he decided not to question it.

"You guys are in big trouble," Sora said.

"Uh, it is too late to say that we are very, very sorry?" Jessie asked.

"Way too late," Sora said. "Pikachu! Thunderbolt!" Pikachu fired Thunderbolt and Team Rocket goes flying in the air.

"Just when we thought everything was coming up roses, it goes downhill," Jessie said.

"Well, it was too good to be true, that I knew so much," Meowth said.

"I agree. The Nobodies are no jokes," James said.

"Team Rocket's blasting off again!" Team Rocket shouted.

"Wobbu!" Wobbuffet said as a star twinkles in the distance.

Sora and Pikachu ran up to Gary as he is standing by the cable that controls the dam.

"What's up, Gary?" Sora asked.

"This is the cable that controls the dam's watergate, but it's not working because the lever is missing," Gary said.

"Then it's in the shed," Sora said. He ran up to the shed and tried to open it, but it locked. He summoned his Kingdom Key and used it to unlock the door. He entered inside. "If only we could find a light switch." Umbreon came in and shines from the rings on its body. "That works, too." He saw the lever in a chain. Sora took out his three Pokéballs and threw them. "Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile! Go!" The Pokéballs opened and they waited for his instructions. "Okay, Cyndaquil, use Flamethrower on the chain!" Cyndaquil fired Flamethrower on the chain. "Okay, Totodile. Use Water Gun to cool it off." Totodile fired Water Gun on the chain to weaken the chain. "Okay, Chikorita, your turn. Razor Leaf." Chikorita fired Razor Leaf and cuts the chain. He picked up the lever and hands it to Gary.

"Good work, Sora," Gary said. He took it and reattached it. Kairi, Tracey, Ethan, and the Pokémon arrived to the cable.

"Now to turn it on!" Sora said. Everyone struggled to get the water going. They kept on pushing down until the watergate opens and water came gushing out of it.

They entered inside as they monitor the power progress.

"How's it going?" Ethan asked.

"The water's flowing and turbines are turning, but it hasn't been used for many years. There is not enough power to get it going," Mike said.

"I think we can help with that," Kairi said. Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel stepped out to the old generator. "Wanna do the honors, Sora?"

"Sure," Sora said. "Pikachu, you know what to do." Pikachu fired Thunderbolt right at the generator, getting started. "There! Everything's back to normal!"

The power comes on in the town.

"It was because of you, Sora. You thought quickly," Gary said. "Look, Sora, that guy in the black hood was right about one thing about you. You have grown a lot stronger. You grew even stronger than you were back in the Indigo Plateau, and you were nothing to sneeze at back then; I just couldn't admit that to you before."

"I appreciate it, Gary," Sora said.

"It's not everyday that a rival of mine is a strong Pokémon Trainer and Keyblade wielder. I guess Ash was right after all. When we meet, just don't be surprised when I challenge you into a battle," Gary said.

"I'll try not to," Sora said.

So, Gary said his goodbyes to Sora as he and Umbreon took off.

Sora, Kairi, Tracey, Ethan, and the Pokémon made it back to the Pokémon Center and got ready to depart in the next morning.

"It's thanks to you that I was able to treat an injured Pokémon that was brought in late last night," Nurse Joy said.

"That's good," Tracey said.

"Team Rocket once again got what they deserved for it," Kairi said.

"Yeah, even if the help was unexpected," Sora said.

"Pikachu," Pikachu said.

"Eevee," Angel said.

"Toge, Toge," Togepi chirped.

"Now to head for Ecruteak City. Everybody ready to go?" Sora asked.

"Yeah!" Everyone all said as they waved goodbye to Nurse Joy.

Team Rocket may have been foiled in an unexpected way, but things worked out better for everyone else. The journey towards Ecruteak City and the rest of the Johto region continues on.
