Chapter Two-hundred and twenty: Fiery Fallout
The people in the area of the Melemele market square were running around in a panic, screaming out of fear, screaming for their lives. A good few persons in the area had recorded what all had happened, was still happening, on their phones as two young girls confronted a third girl and busted the disguise the third girl apparently had on, while proclaiming her to be a high ranking member of the infamous organization Team Scorn. This, of course, prompted the third girl to call out a vastly powerful dragon Pokémon, conjure a gigantic sphere of fire, then cast it down, causing catastrophic damage to the area.
The two girls who busted the third girl's disguise, Mallow and Lana, looked up at where the third girl, Boss's Assistant Ayane of Team Scorn, was flying in place in the air on her Reshiram. "Do you girls know how much you had just ruined for me?!" Ayane snarled down at the Alola girls, focusing mainly on Mallow and Lana, "All because you had clearly thought that making a bold move in a bid to play hero was a good idea!"
"Mallow, Lana, why didn't you girls wait to hear me out?!" Lillie snapped, "My idea could have prevented all of this from happening AND had a lot of potential to capture her and bring her in for questioning!"
"She cheated one of our friends!" Mallow defended, "We couldn't just wait around and do nothing, not while the cheater in question was right there!"
A good few stalls, stands, and kiosks in the Melemele market square were now wrecked and engulfed in flames, sending up trails of black smoke to choke the skies above. Some of the nearby building which suffered damage were also smoking, and one building plus a few of the wrecked vendor booths in the market square were on fire. Fires were rising, and emergency alarms were now being heard ringing out, although one of the alarm sirens at the top of a power pole was busted down when the exposed Boss's Assistant of Team Scorn had Reshiram fire a Dragonbreath attack off randomly, having it sweep from side to side; the pole was busted down at random.
As the panic grew, as more flames and smoke rose into the skies, Ayane pointed down at where Mallow, Lana, and Lillie all stood as a group. "Reshiram," Ayane said, her tone snarling with desires for revenge, "Hit those girls down there with-"
"-Spacial Rend!"
Ayane was cut off when she heard a certain female voice call out, and suddenly she and Reshiram were knocked down out of the air by a Spacial Rend attack and back down to the ground. Flying in was Dawn, on the back of her named Palkia Tsukune. "I have no idea why you decided to go on this rampage, Ayane!" Dawn called down firmly, "But your little temper tantrum here is going to end now!"
"You and those idiot girls who busted my disguise will all be brought down low!" Ayane screamed, "Reshiram, use Dragonbreath on Palkia!"
"Tsukune, counter with Flamethrower!" Dawn called out. The two breath weapon attacks were fired, hitting each other and exploding into a burst of explosive power and smoke. Dawn then was heard calling out, "Tsukune, use Power Gem! Straight ahead!" Tsukune conjured up and cast its Power Gem attack, having it fly through the smoke and successfully hitting Reshiram, making it cry out in pain. This gave Dawn and Tsukune the time they needed to quickly land down on the ground. Seeing that Reshiram was still reeling from the Power Gem, Dawn called out, "Tsukune, use Spacial Rend again!"
Tsukune pulled its right arm back, the pearl in its right shoulder pauldron glowing, before it threw its arm forward to cast its Spacial Rend attack, the crescent shaped projectile flying on and going on to strike Reshiram directly, making it cry out in pain that Dawn knew was a sign that Spacial Rend had scored a critical hit. Reshiram, after it reeled back from the hit, soon fell forward and sprawled out on the ground, clearly having been defeated. Ayane, shocked, quickly recalled her defeated dragon. Dawn then saw that Ayane pressed a button on a wrist-mounted device on her left wrist before she began to pull out another Pokémon for battle; Dawn suspected that the device was a distress signal and Ayane used it to summon backup.
Wanting to prevent more Team Scorn members from showing up, Dawn quickly called out her Latios Lincoln. "Lincoln, use Psychic to grab Ayane and keep her from moving!" Dawn said. The named Latios acted as his trainer told him, quickly grabbing a hold of Ayane with Psychic and keeping her from moving, thus keeping her from trying to call out another Pokémon. Dawn then called out Chi-Chi before having the named Infernape go up to Ayane and punch her in the face hard enough to knock her lights out, rendering her unconscious.
Dawn then had Lincoln drop Ayane, right before Dawn caught the knocked out Boss's Assistant of Team Scorn and laid her on the ground, binding her hands behind her back with a length of Escape Rope she had in her bag. "Mallow! Lana! Lillie!" Dawn shouted out, her tone loud, firm, and very unamused, as she continued to tie Ayane's hands behind her back while the mid-teens girl was still out of it. The three Alola girls nervously walked up to Dawn, and when the reborn trainer was finished binding Ayane's hands behind her back, she turned to look up at her female classmates.
Emergency service workers of various kinds were already showing up as Dawn gave Mallow, Lana, and Lillie a grim, angry look. "...You three are in so much trouble."
Later that evening at the local hospital, Class 1-A aside from Dawn were all in the main waiting room, with all of them turning to see Dawn walk in, a grim look on her face that still had hints of relief on her face. Trip immediately got up to walk up to his sister, a worried look on his face. "How's mom?" Trip asked.
"She's alive and will recover in due time," Dawn replied, immediately drawing a relieved look from her adopted brother, "She was fairly banged up earlier when Ayane went on her rampage, but mom's condition is nowhere near as bad as what Misty's got going right now over in Kanto. Regardless, mom is estimated by the doctors to have to skip her judge duties for the next few Alola Pokémon Contests, but she'll still recover well enough."
"I still can't believe that your mom was hurt in the attack earlier, Dawn and Trip," Ash said in a sympathetic tone, "I am so sorry."
Looking right at Mallow, Lana, and Lillie who all looked guilty and ashamed, Kenny said, "You girls had done worse than when you were singling out Sophocles because a Class 1-B girl embarrassed the three of you. You not only busted Ayane's cover out in the open, but it led to the incident in the market square! And for what, wanting to 'avenge how Ayane cheated Serena'? We had helped Looker and Professor Kukui come up with a plan that not only would have done that, but it would have done so SAFELY and with as few people knowing as possible!"
"I-In my defense," Lillie began, "I was trying to tell Mallow and Lana to wait because I had the idea of calling in either you or Dawn or Trip, then we go up to Ayane in her Ochaco alias and keep her attention long enough for one of you three as backup to arrive. It was Mallow and Lana who jumped the gun."
Dawn let out a resigned sigh. "I'm not sure about Trip or Kenny, but I at least would have immediately told you girls to turn around and leave the area without even confronting Ayane. There were too many variables in an uncontrolled situation like that, hence why Looker agreed with the idea of waiting until the next Alola Contest to capture Ayane while she's in her Ochaco alias." Trip said he would have acted exactly the same as Dawn said she would have, and Kenny while admitting he would have gone in to help the girls, would have been VERY firm in telling them to wait for him to come in before going in to confront Ayane.
Turning to look at Dawn, Kiawe asked, "So Dawn, do you have any idea how bad the damage from the shared screw-up of Mallow, Lana, and Lillie is?"
Dawn let out a troubled sigh. "...Ninety percent of the vendor stalls in the Melemele market square were wrecked, and most merchandise was ruined although most of it was food. Eleven vehicles were wrecked, and four nearby buildings suffered damage, with two being businesses that have to close until they can fix the damage. Twenty-nine persons..." Dawn paused to send an angry glare at Mallow, Lana, and Lillie. "...with one of said persons being me and Trip's mom..." Turning her attention back to the class as a whole, Dawn went on, "...were all hurt. Their levels of injury vary in severity, ranging from 'they can just walk it off' to 'a step and a half away from how Misty's doing right now'. Me and Trip's mom is in the middle of that range, inching towards the top of the lower half of that range."
"Well at least everyone lived, right?" Sophocles asked.
Dawn, closing her eyes and letting out a resigned sigh, said, "Luckily for us, yes. It's nothing short of a damn miracle that everyone hurt in the incident earlier survived and is expected to recover. However, some concerning news is five of the injured are members of Team Skull."
Kenny nodded once grimly in agreement. "Yes, I remember arriving on the scene with Trip after you subdued and caught Ayane. We helped you get some hurt victims out from under some debris, and among them were two guys and three girls all wearing Team Skull grunt outfits."
"But what if Team Skull turns hostile on our class?" Trip asked.
"Luckily for us," Dawn said, "Word came out from the higher ups of Team Skull that, as it's been confirmed a member of Team Scorn was responsible for the damage, their vengeance will be aimed at Team Scorn. We can expect Team Skull to act even more hostile towards Team Scorn then they already have been doing. Similarly, the damage is being attributed to Ayane, so most of the blame from the public is being pinned on her." Turning to look at Mallow, Lana, and Lillie, Dawn went on, "...Most of the blame from the public, but not all of it. You girls were seen exposing Ayane and getting her worked up, so you can expect some trouble."
Turning to look at Mallow, Lana, and Lillie, Kenny said, "You girls would have been in even greater trouble, but were saved from it by the dual facts that Ayane was caught anyway and there were no deaths. There will still be trouble like Dawn said, but it won't be anywhere near as bad."
Mallow, Lana, and Lillie all looked ashamed of themselves, realizing that they in their hastiness in avenging how Serena was cheated by Ayane had caused way more damage than what was necessary. Lillie was about to speak up, but she was cut off when she and the others heard an older female voice call out, "I got it that the two dudes and one dudette who saved some of my dumb lil' brothers and dumb lil' sisters in Team Skull are here."
The heroes and their classmates turned their attention and saw Plumeria, the Admin of Team Skull, walk in with two female Team Skull Grunts, one being Rapp and the other looking exactly like Rapp save for having olive-brownish hair and eyes. "...You guys are with Team Skull," Kiawe said, wary of Plumeria and the girls.
Holding up a hand to stem off arguments, Plumeria said, "Relax, kiddo. We ain't here to raise a stink. On the contrary, we're here to express our thanks to the three among you who saved five of Team Skull's own."
"That would be me, my brother Trip, and my friend Kenny," Dawn said as she, Trip, and Kenny stepped forward.
Pointing at Kenny, the olive-brownish haired Team Skull grunt girl said, "I thought I recognized you! You're Kenny Harris, of Kenny Harris Studios! Oh man, I love the movies you put up on your website! Even Boss Guzma likes them, having gotten a kick out of Paul's Privates!"
"That movie was done partly to help raise awareness for what the girls running the Cerulean City gym in Kanto are going through right now," Kenny said, "We even raised some money to help them rebuild their gym and to cover medical expenses for the youngest among the four."
Plumeria nodded once in understanding. "Yes, I'm familiar with those movies too. Rapp here wanted to know how the fat girl in the Mina Carrow movie lost so much weight between then and when she next starred in Poké Sphere P movie, but I told her that the fat girl was actually a skinny girl who wore a fat suit for the role."
"Yes, I was the girl who wore the fat suit," Dawn said as she raised a hand, "Kenny's ability to apply movie make-up is really effective." Gently shaking her head, Dawn said, "But I believe we might be getting off topic."
"Indeed we are," Plumeria said. She, as well as Rapp and the other Team Skull grunt girl, held up large plastic shopping bags that were each filled with clothes. "Guzma wanted to thank you guys for saving some of our own, but he couldn't leave to thank you himself as he's taken to training the rest of Team Skull to better be ready for our next showdowns against those Team Scorn asswipes. Instead, he asked me and the two dumb lil' sisters behind me to bring the three of you a thank you gift each. You're each getting a Team Skull member uniform, also we don't know your sizes so by default you're getting the largest sizes we got so at least they won't be too small to fit you. Additionally, the girl who beat the Scorn second in command is getting a copy of Guzma's signature hoodie."
The heroes were all surprised to see Dawn, Kenny, and Trip each getting a full Team Skull grunt outfit, with Dawn also getting a copy of Guzma's hoodie. True to what Plumeria said, the clothing was all sized too big for the reborn trainers, but that won't be too great a problem. "We aren't asking you to join Team Skull, in case you're worried about that," Plumeria said, "But at the very least, we want you to continue giving Team Scorn a big middle finger."
"We were planning to do that regardless," Kenny replied, drawing a mildly amused smile from Plumeria. After that, Plumeria and the girl Skull grunts took off, but Rapp first asked if they knew who played Nappku in Poké Sphere P as he's her favorite character from that movie and she wants an autographed photo of him in his Nappku costume. Kenny, with an amused chuckle, said that he can arrange it no problem. Plumeria asked if another movie would come out of Kenny Harris Studios soon, as she said Guzma's now interested in the movies. Kenny replied he's working on the script for the fourth Kenny Harris Studios movie right now, but the chaos that went down earlier with Ayane may delay things there a bit.
Shrugging, Plumeria said, "Knowing Guzma, he'll use that to motivate himself to continue the fight against Team Scorn." Plumeria and the two girl Skull grunts then took off, leaving the heroes be.
Letting out a relieved sigh, Dawn said, "That was a bit more nerve wracking than what I had been-"
"Is it true?! Is Ochaco really Ayane?!"
Dawn was cut off when, a few seconds after Plumeria and the girl Skull grunts left, Ideku came running in, breathing as if out of breath, a rattled look of heartbroken betrayal on his face. Following along behind Ideku was his older brother Katsuku, who was panting out of exhaustion. "...Y-Yes," Dawn said, surprised that the roaming trainer from Johto knew. Gently shaking her head, Dawn went on, "Ideku, I am so sorry that you had been lied to by Ayane this whole time. But what I'd like to know is how you found out abo-"
"Some people who were in the area Ayane had her freak-out in recorded everything on their phones and posted it to the internet," Katsuku spoke up, having finally caught his breath, "Ideku and I both know. All of my classmates, among which Ayane used to be a member, now knows. All of the students in our rival class, including me and Justin's respective girlfriends, all know. Our classes' respective homeroom teachers both know." Katsuku looked lost, like he had absolutely no idea what to do. "...What... just what the fuck did Miss Akeno getting Ayane expelled from Blackthorn City Academy do to that girl exactly?"
The reborn trainers all went wide-eyed with shock; the entirety of the incident was recorded on smartphones, by multiple people, so of course Ideku, Katsuku, and the whole of the field trip from Blackthorn City Academy now knew that Ayane had suffered a severe fall from grace. "...Well," Kenny said with a shrug, "Maybe this won't be so bad. I mean, Ayane being the second in command of Team Scorn has to be at least somewhat commonly known, right?"
...
Meanwhile at the local law enforcement station on Melemele Island, two police officers stood outside along with Kahuna Hala, Looker from Interpol, and Professor Kukui. Kukui, who looked very unamused, gently shook his head in disappointment. "I still can't believe that three of my students had acted so recklessly," Kukui said, his tone clearly apologetic, "I am so sorry about what Mallow, Lana, and Lillie had done to throw Interpol's mission against Ayane into upheaval."
Looker let out a frustrated huff through his nose. "We... can discuss the full ramifications of what all those girls had done later. For now, we need to do this." Looker then took a Master Ball out from his coat pocket, expanded it, and tossed it up, calling out Reshiram in the process. "Reshiram!" Looker said as he looked up at the Vast White Pokémon, getting the mighty dragon's attention, "Your trainer has been captured and arrested! Although her other Pokémon are being kept and arrangements will be made to send them to what family she may have, you are by the authority of Alola's government working with Interpol being released back into the wild! The world can't take the risk of the vast power of a great and noble Pokémon such as yourself falling back into evil hands!"
Reshiram looked down at the humans, gave a rumbling hum of consideration. "...I still say we should of waited until Dawn and or Trip and or Kenny were available to accompany us here," Kukui said, "In case Reshiram here has any-"
Kukui was cut off when Reshiram let loose a mighty, skyward roar, one that sounded with... relieved euphoria? Reshiram then reached forward with its right hand, knocked the Master Ball out of Looker's hands, the same Master Ball that Boss's Assistant Ayane of Team Scorn had used to capture it with a sneak attack, then raised its right foot up and stomped down hard, smashing the Master Ball into smithereens in the process. Reshiram shuddered a bit as a faint blue aura washed over it, which was a sign Kukui recognized as Reshiram officially being released back into the wild.
Reshiram, now once more a wild Pokémon, flew straight up into the. Looking around, it soon spotted Wela Volcano in the distance. Reshiram gave a roar sounding as if it found something that will do, then flew straight off. "...I think it's flying off in the direction of Wela Volcano," Hala said.
Turning to face the other men, Looker said, "Well gentlemen, although it's not how we planned it and far more damage was caused in the process, we did nonetheless capture the second most important person in Team Scorn, and we've also been able to deprive Team Scorn of a lot of the power they can field. I'd say that the odds that the rest of the world has against Team Scorn had just gone up significantly."
Hala nodded in agreement. "Reshiram is a being of such power, I doubt even the island deities of Alola could best Reshiram, at least in one on one combat. It is good that such power is now out of the hands of Team Scorn. And furthermore, Pokémon of similar power comparable to Reshiram are in the worthy hands of true heroes who will not hesitate to fight Team Scorn wherever they may crop up."
"I still kinda have some reluctance to let the kids fight Team Scorn, yeah?" Kukui said, folding his arms over his chest, "I mean, I know full well they're more than strong enough to do so and win, but... but they're still just kids. As an adult and a teacher who works at a school, I can't help but worry about the safety and well-being of kids, you know?"
Looker got Kukui's attention by placing a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "There is no need to fret, Professor Kukui. It is perfectly understandable for one with the career that you have to worry about the safety and well-being of kids, even those capable of fending off problems themselves in a pinch. But with Team Scorn being an ever-looming threat, the world needs any and all strong, able trainers to fight back, even if some end up being children."
Looking off into the distance that Reshiram flew off in, one of the extra police officers said, "Umm, Reshiram is a Pokémon that appears in Unovan legend, right? Wouldn't the Unova region be pissy that Reshiram after it was recovered from Team Scorn's grasp was NOT released in the wild in Unova?"
"We couldn't afford to take the risk of transporting things to Unova and releasing Reshiram into the wild there," Looker explained, "There's a chance Reshiram's ball could have been taken back by Team Scorn before we were able to settle things."
"I also see that the station here is on high alert," the second extra officer remarked, "But then again we DO have the Team Scorn second in command being held here for questioning. You think her followers will try making a move to free her?"
"There is no doubt in my mind," Looker said, "Hence why security is on max alert here. Since we can't get Ayane talking, we need to bring in the special unit from Interpol with Pokémon that know Mind Reader trained specifically to penetrate unwilling minds to get intel."
"You're just going to read her mind to learn what all secrets you can get out of her," Hala said.
Looker nodded in confirmation. "The trainers of the special unit work well with psychic types, the Pokémon that use Mind Reader will scan Ayane's mind to learn what all secrets she's got, then transplant those secrets into the minds of the trainers working with them. Then the trainers will just tell us the secrets."
"How long will it take for the special unit to get here?" Kukui asked.
Letting out a sigh, Looker replied, "Even if the plan to capture Ayane was followed perfectly and it went off with out a hitch, it'd take the special unit at minimum three days to get here on a perfectly smooth schedule. But there's security issues happening right now for inter-regional flights, and to make this worse we kind of sprung the news of Ayane's capture on the special unit before they were even filled in on the original plan. It'll estimated that it'll take about a week before we can get the special unit here, and thus get intel out of Ayane."
Kukui had a grim look on his face. "...That's too long for comfort, especially since Team Scorn's bound to know we caught their leader's right hand girl."
"We would have had more of an element of surprise had some of your students not jumped the gun," Looker said. Turning to look at Kukui, Looker said, "And it's not just the idea of holding Ayane they've brought ruin to. I'm going to need to go over with your students just how badly those three girls had messed up."
"They've messed up that badly, Looker?" Hala said in a mildly surprised tone, "I mean sure, they did trigger that attack in the market square by jumping the gun, but no-one was killed, the Boss's Assistant in Team Scorn was apprehended, and Team Scorn has been deprived of Reshiram. Surely things can't be too bad with all of that taken into consideration."
Things were nowhere near as easy as Hala was thinking they were, but then again he didn't have the FULL story.
The following morning in class at trainer school, the heroes and their classmates all sat in class as Kukui and a very disappointed Looker stood at the front of the class. "The scolding I'll be doing here will be directed at Mallow, Lana, and Lillie," Looker began, "Although the rest of you ought to pay attention so you'll know just how bad the situation here is."
"But Ayane was exposed and captured!" Mallow defended, "And no-one died! How can the girls and I still be in trouble?"
"First off," Looker said, "Your actions yesterday technically foiled an Inter-regional operation that Interpol was conducting against Team Scorn. The target was captured anyway due ONLY to us getting lucky that Dawn had caught word of what was going on and rushed over to fight Ayane." Folding his arms over his chest, Looker said, "You three girls are beyond lucky you're young enough to be let off the hook for it because, regardless of luck making things a success anyway, you girls had STILL foiled plans against Team Scorn on an inter-regional scale."
Listing things off of his fingers, Looker went on, "Second off, despite how no-one was killed, there were still nearly thirty people injured in the process, all of them being injured to carrying degrees. The mother of two of your classmates is one of said injured persons."
"Trip had lost his biological mother due to Team Scorn violence," Dawn spoke up, getting the attention of the guilty girls, "If he lost his adoptive mother, who is my biological mother, to Team Scorn violence as well, then I'm not quite sure what he'd do. Hell, I'm not quite sure what I would have done."
Looker nodded once in understanding before resuming his talk to Class 1-A. "Third, there's all of the property damage that was caused during Ayane's triggered attack yesterday. That factoid is being mitigated by how the Aether Foundation is paying to cover all of the damage, but it'll cost Lusamine more than just what qualifies as pocket change to her to cover everything." Lillie gulped nervously, realizing she may be in some extra trouble at home.
"Fourth," Looker went on, "Believe it or not, but Ayane's identity as the second in command of Team Scorn was NOT a widely known fact. Figuratively speaking, only a very small handful of people outside of Team Scorn were aware. To the world at large, Ayane was almost as mysterious as Team Scorn's boss." Gently shaking his head, Looker continued, "But that's no longer the case. Thanks to people using their smartphones to record the actions you girls took yesterday, then posting those recording up on the web, Ayane's identity as the Boss's Assistant of Team Scorn is now public knowledge to the world at large. Do you girls have ANY idea at all of what all kind of damage that has done?"
After Mallow gently shook her head, Dawn stood up and listed things off of her fingers as she said, "Her former classmates and teachers from the school she was expelled from now know of Ayane's fall from grace, what family she has had been made into social pariahs in their home region of Johto, and the aforementioned school that Ayane had been expelled from is now under intense scrutiny from the media both local in Johto and on an inter-regional scale."
"An extra point worsening things for Blackthorn City Academy," Kenny said, "Although this isn't the fault of Mallow, Lana, or Lillie, is how interviewers had spoken with the students here in Alola on field trip, and Justin's autistic girlfriend said while she was interviewed that Ayane was expelled solely because she stood up to Ms. Akeno when that teacher was picking on the autistic girl solely because said girl is autistic. That interview made headlines by painting Blackthorn City Academy as a school that punishes students for standing up for others and doing the right thing by expelling them and driving them into villainy."
Folding his arms over his chest, Ash said, "Also, Ideku found out that his girlfriend Ochaco was a leading member of Team Scorn just leading him on. He is really upset that he had been lied to pretty much the entirety of the time he's been dating his girlfriend."
Kenny, with a bit of an amused smirk, said, "I bet a cool dude like Ash if he ever got a girlfriend will get one who is always honest and faithful to him." Turning to look at Serena, Kenny asked, "What do you think about that, Serena?" Serena immediately lit up red out of embarrassment, understanding what Kenny was getting at.
After Kenny settled down, Looker continued, "Fifth, and this is a big one, is the fact that due to how Mallow, Lana, and Lillie had exposed Ayane, they put Alain and Mairin in danger. Sure, the girls didn't say anything that told Ayane that Alain and Mairin are connected here, but the point remains that those two are still in danger, especially if Team Scorn is able to put two and two together. As a side note, Interpol can't exactly move Alain and Mairin to another region for safety right now, so until the options becomes available, Alain and Mairin are stuck in a region where they are in danger."
To the guilty girls, Kukui said, "Mallow, Lana, Lillie, it goes without saying that you girls had messed up big time. Principal Oak said that if you girls had carried out your actions on the trainer school's time, then at minimum he would have suspended the three of you, and he also would of strongly considered expelling you. However, the incident took place after school hours, and off of school grounds as well, so legally the trainer school can't do anything to punish any of you girls for the incident that you had caused yesterday. But Principal Oak is STILL very disappointed in you three." Folding his arms over his chest, Kukui said, "And I'm also disappointed in the three of you too, yeah?"
As Mallow, Lana, and Lillie all looked down out of shame, Sophocles spoke up. "Hold on a minute," Sophocles began, "What about Ayane's legendary Pokémon?"
"Oh, after Ayane was taken into custody, her Pokémon that were on-hand at the time were confiscated," Looker said, "We still have a Wigglytuff, a Castform, a Pikachu that's a bit smaller than average, a shiny Lopunny, and a shiny Mawile that all belong to Ayane. We're planning on turning them over to Ayane's family's custody. But as for Reshiram, we've legally released it back into the wild."
"Reshiram's back in the wild?" the heroes and their students all exclaimed in unison.
Nodding once in the affirmative, Looker explained, "Yes, and according to Kahuna Hala, Reshiram after it was released back into the wild was seen flying towards We-"
Looker was cut off when a lower ranked Interpol agent came into the room. "Looker, sir," the agent said, "We... got a visitor demanding what all we know about Reshiram as we've captured Ayane. The visitor says it's of vital cultural importance to her home region of Unova. She's also a rather important figure due to the position she has in Unova, so I think it's best we listen to her." Looker, as well as Kukui and the classmates, all looked curious as to what was going on, as well as who exactly was this mysterious person demanding about Reshiram on the basis it's important to her home region of Unova.
END, CHAPTER TWO-HUNDRED AND TWENTY
Author's notes;
This chapter covers the fallout of the hasty actions that Mallow, Lana, and Lille (to a lesser extent) did by exposing Ayane rather than go for the stealthy option that won't make a big commotion. Granted, Ayane IS captured and also her Reshiram's released back into the wild, and no-one was killed, something that's nothing short of a miracle. But nearly thirty people, including Dawn's and Trip's mom Johanna, are injured. Also, due to how the power of science is amazing, smartphone users in the area were able to capture the whole confrontation and put it up on the web.
This ends up exposing A LOT; Ideku finds out his girlfriend's been lying to him and has this whole time been the villainous girl he used to love, the reputation of Blackthorn City Academy takes a serious hit (although that was helped along mainly by Amanda's interview that she gave), Alain and Mairin are now in danger but can't be moved out of Alola for the time being even though they weren't technically exposed, inter-regional efforts by Interpol had been thrown into upheaval (that's still pretty bad, regardless of lucky success), lot of property damage has been caused (the cost for repairs will be covered out of Lusamine's pocket), and Ayane's family are now social pariahs.
After the guilty girls are told how lucky they were their screw up wasn't on school grounds or happened on school time, Sophocles asked about Ayane's Reshiram, which prompts Looker to say it was released back into the wild. He would have given more details, but was interrupted by an Interpol agent he outranks coming in to tell him of a rather important person from Unova who came in to demand more info about Reshiram. This will continue into the next chapter where discussions on Reshiram are taken care of. Until then, take care.
