"What are your names, please?" Neville asked.
Sam couldn't answer. She was too excited and terrified at the same time.
"Sorry, I'm Jack Taylor, and this is my daughter Sam… Samantha," Jack said.
Neville winked at them and walked up the center of the Great Hall as all the students glanced between him and the strangers. He stepped up to the raised dais where the other adults were eating. Sam assumed they were also teachers, and then he turned and addressed the entire group.
"Everyone, I would like you to join me in welcoming two muggle guests for this weekend's festivities. Samantha Taylor and her father, Jack are here by a most unusual turn of events. I have it on very good authority that they were in a small airplane that crashed in the Forbidden Forest. Luckily they were delivered to us safely and they will stay here for the weekend until they can get back to their world on Monday. In the meantime, please make them feel welcome. I am sure that they will see things that they won't believe, so take the opportunity to explain things to them, and I am sure you will learn a little about Muggle life from them. This is a rare opportunity for us to share information."
"Neville, what are you doing? You can't have Muggles here, they will learn about us and our world could be in danger," the professor next to Neville whispered almost loud enough for everyone to hear.
"Professor Finch-Fletchley, I'm surprised at your concern, seeing that you are Muggle-born yourself," Neville said. "Of course, we will wipe their memories after the weekend. Let's enjoy ourselves."
Neville turned back to the students, "Samantha, will you do us the pleasure of joining our students?" Neville paused as he surveyed the crowd, "Rose Creevey, please make Samantha feel welcome, will you?"
A student about Sam's same age and size stood up and motioned for Sam to come join her. Sam looked around for her bag, but it was gone.
"Jack, come join us at the professors' table," Neville said. "There is room next to Professor Parkinson. I have taken the liberty of having your bags taken to your rooms. Please join us."
Jack gave Sam a look and a little shrug. Sam nodded and went towards where Rose was motioning her over, and Jack started up the center of the Great Hall towards a beautiful brunette that was sliding her chair over as another place setting appeared out of nowhere.
