Episode 151: Kris's Keyblade
A few days have passed since Sora, Kairi, Karen, Tracey, Sakura, Tom, Pikachu, Angel, Blossom, Togepi, and the Pichu passed by the Togepi Valley and swore to keep its existence a secret from the rest of the world.
As they continue onwards towards Olivine City, they bumped into a familiar face; a face the couple haven't seen for quite some time. It was Vincent.
"Hey, Vincent!" Sora called out, grabbing Vincent's attention.
"Sora, Kairi! There's a pair of friendly faces!" Vincent exclaimed with joy.
"It's been a while, Vincent. How have you been?" Kairi asked.
"I've been good, Kairi. I watched you compete in the Poké Maiden Tournament and won it. I was really impressed," Vincent said.
"Thank you, Vincent," Kairi said.
"Who's this guy?" Karen asked.
Sora knew he hasn't met any of Karen, Tracey, Sakura, or Tom yet.
"Right, you haven't met. Vincent, meet Tracey, Sakura, Tom, and my twin sister Karen. Karen, Tracey, Sakura, and Tom, meet Vincent," Sora introduced.
"Nice to meet you," Karen said.
"Likewise. So Sora, how many Gym Badges did you win already?" Vincent asked.
"I got four under my belt. How about you?" Sora asked.
"Same. I thought I'd head for Olivine City before I head for Mahogany Town. It looks like we had the same idea," Vincent said.
"Yeah, looks like it," Tom said.
"What have you been up to, Vincent?" Sora asked.
"A lot of things happened to me since we parted ways. I mean a lot of things. I caught my share of some Pokémon and I battled some Trainers I met along the way; Gym Leaders especially," Vincent said.
"Sounds like you're doing okay," Kairi said.
"Yeah, and I got creamed some of the time, but I just bounced back higher than a High Jump Kick. And there's something else," Vincent said.
"What?" Sora asked.
"Well, it might pretty crazy, but I was hearing some rumors of some monsters showing up. I mean some of them has yellow eyes. And the other kind of monsters were all white. I didn't really believe it. And there is also some talk about some guys dressed in black hoods being spotted," Vincent said. Sora, Kairi, Tracey, Sakura, Karen, and Tom knew he was talking about the Heartless, the Nobodies, and Organization XIII.
"You didn't see any of them, did you?" Tracey asked.
"Like I said, I only heard about them. Also, I a hood is not something I would choose," Vincent said. He put on a large cape. "A cape is what I would choose! You like it? Say that you do." The group just looked at him oddly.
"When did you start wearing a cape, Vincent?" Kairi asked.
"Shortly after we parted ways. I figured if I'm gonna be a champion, I thought I'd look like one, too. I watched Lance in a battle at the time, against a Trainer with an Electivire. He had his Dragonite finish that Electivire off with a Hyper Beam. Lance has won it without losing a single one," Vincent said.
"Well, it's a known fact that Lance is the strongest member of Kanto's Elite Four. And his ace Pokémon Dragonite has always come through for him," Tracey said.
Sora wasn't surprised to hear Lance had won that battle. But he knew he will have to train hard if he plans on challenging the Elite Four one day, because he knew it wouldn't be easy even with legendary Pokémon under his belt.
"So, Sora, I was wondering if I could have a battle with you? Just to see what you're made of," Vincent said.
"I'm game when you are, Vincent," Sora said. "I would like to see how strong you've gotten since then," Sora said, accepting the challenge.
"Let's make this a one-on-one battle," Vincent said.
"Okay, just gimme everything you've got," Sora said. Vincent took a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Meganium!" Vincent shouted. His Pokéball opened and out came a new Pokémon. It is a quadrupedal, pale-green reptilian Pokémon that resembles a sauropod dinosaur. It has a long neck; yellow eyes; a short, blunt snout; and two stamen-like antennae on top of its snout. The antennae are very long. Encircling its neck are large, pink flower petals with a yellow central pattern and white edges. It has three claws on each foot and a stubby tail. Sora took out his Pokédex and scanned it.

The fragrance of Meganium's flower soothes and calms emotions. In battle, this Pokémon gives off more of its becalming scent to blunt the foe's fighting spirit.
"Wow, your Chikorita evolved!" Sora said, putting his Pokédex away. "He looks strong enough."
"You're about to find out first hand!" Vincent said. Sora took out a Pokéball.
"Here's a Pokémon I wanna try out," Sora said, throwing the Pokéball. "Go! Sneasel!" His Pokéball opened and Sneasel came out with swirl of stars. Vincent was at awe when he saw Sora's Sneasel.
"Hey, you have a Shiny Sneasel!" Vincent exclaimed.
"Sneasel's one of the Pokémon I caught while in Johto. And he's a hard opponent to handle. I should know," Sora said.
"Let's see. Meganium! Use Vine Whip!" Vincent ordered. Meganium extends his vines to hit Sneasel.
"Dodge and use Ice Shard!" Sora ordered. Sneasel dodged Meganium's Vine Whip and unleashed Ice Shard, heading right Meganium.
"Dodge and use Magical Leaf!" Vincent ordered. Meganium dodges Sneasel's Ice Shard and fired Magical Leaf, landing a hit. "Now, use Body Slam!" Meganium rushes at Sneasel and stands on his hind legs.
"Dodge with Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Sneasel dodges by running. "Use Slash!" Sneasel jumped towards Meganium and slashed at Meganium. "Use Feint Attack!" Sneasel disappeared for a second and gave Meganium a punch when he reappeared.
"Wow! You're good!" Vincent said.
"Thanks, and so are you, Vincent. You did a great job raising Meganium," Sora said. Vincent smiled.
"Thank you, Sora. I'm gonna have to give you my best shot! Meganium! Use Magical Leaf!" Vincent ordered.
"Ice Shard!" Sora ordered. Sneasel unleashed Ice Shard to block the leaves. "Use Slash!" Sneasel came running at Meganium to slash at the Herb Pokémon. "Slash again!"
"Magical Leaf!" Vincent ordered. Meganium unleashed another Magical Leaf and it lands a hit onto Sneasel. "Use Vine Whip!" Meganium unleashed Vine Whip and lands a hit onto Sneasel. This deals some heavy damage on the Shiny Sharp Claw Pokémon. Sneasel struggled to get back up until he stood on his two feet. Sneasel readied his claws to strike. "You said your Sneasel is a tough opponent and you weren't kidding."
"I told you. Okay, Sneasel! Use Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Sneasel dashed at Meganium with lightning speed and lands a hit onto Meganium.
"Use Body Slam!" Vincent ordered. Meganium tried to slam his body onto Sneasel, but Sneasel dodged just by running and lands another Quick Attack.
"Use Feint Attack!" Sora ordered. Sneasel gave Meganium a hit with Feint Attack. "Use Ice Shard!" Sneasel fired an Ice Shard and lands a hit with Ice Shard.
"Use Magical Leaf!" Vincent ordered. Meganium fired another Magical Leaf, and he took the hit. Sneasel lands on the ground, dealing some more damage. Sneasel struggled to get back up again and eventually stood back up. "It won't stay down. Okay, Meganium! Use Magical Leaf again!" Meganium fired another Magical Leaf, so Sneasel slashes the leaves into bits, much to Vincent's surprise. "No way!"
"Use Ice Shard!" Sora ordered. Sneasel unleashed a much more powerful Ice Shard, landing a hit onto Meganium. "Use Slash!" Sneasel gave Meganium one more Slash, bringing Meganium down before he went down himself, tired from the intense battle. Sora and Vincent ran up to their Pokémon. "Sneasel!"
"Meganium!" Vincent gasped. He helped the Herb Pokémon on his feet. "You alright, Meganium?"
"Gainum," Meganium weakly replied.
"It's okay, Meganium. You did your best," Vincent said.
"You battled hard, Sneasel. But you should limit yourself. You pushed yourself too hard," Sora said. Sneasel looked up and saw his smiling face. Sora rubbed Sneasel's head. He looked at Vincent. "Hey, how about we call this a draw."
"Sure if that's what you want to do, Sora," Vincent said. "But it was a good battle."
"It sure was," Sora said as they shook hands.
Later, Vincent joins the group for a while, catching up with each other. Sora and Kairi explained how Tracey joined the couple, and the same can be said about Sakura, but they left out the part about ExDark since they knew Vincent wouldn't believe a word of it. The same can be said about their trip into the realm of darkness, stopping Ansem.
"Wow, you sound like you've been through a whole lot," Vincent said.
"Boy, you know it," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Pichu," the Spiky-eared Pichu said.
"Pichu," the Shiny Pichu said.
"We met some incredible Pokémon along the way," Tracey said.
Suddenly, they hear music playing close to them.
"You hear that?" Tom asked.
"Loud and clear," Sora said.
"Better see who's playing it," Kairi suggested.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Toge," Togepi chirped.
With that said, the group followed the music playing and it grew louder the closer they walked. And they saw Kris clapping her hands while Wani-Wani now a Croconaw along with Little Miss and a Jigglypuff doing some dancing.
"That's it! Keep dancing!" Kris said, clapping her hands. Her Pokémon kept on dancing and dancing. She stopped clapping and the Pokémon stopped dancing when the music has ceased. "Take five," Kris said. She was about to have a bottle of water when she saw the group and smiled. "Sora, Kairi, Tracey, Vincent! I'm so happy to see you!"
"Hey, Kris," Kairi greeted.
"Hello, Kris," Vincent said, smittened.
"Great to see you, too, Kris," Sora said. Kris looked at Karen.
"Let me guess, you're Karen, Sora's sister. I've been wanting to meet you. You're cuter in person," Kris said.
"Thanks," Karen said. She noticed Sakura and Tom.
"Oh, and who are you?" Kris asked.
"My name's Tom, I'm an old friend of Sora and Karen from we were little kids," Tom introduced himself.
"And I'm Sakura. Nice to meet you," Sakura said.
"Very nice to meet you, Sakura," Kris said with a smile. She then turned to Kairi. "By the way, Kairi, I watched you in the Poké Maiden Tournament. I was so happy for you that you won."
"Thank you, Kris. I'm not letting it go to my head," Kairi said.
"What have you been up to, Kris?" Sora asked.
"I'm happy you asked me, Sora. I've been having my Pokémon doing some practicing on some dance moves when you showed up. Did you enjoy the show?" Kris asked.
"We only caught some of it," Karen said.
"But it was quite a performance," Tom added. "I give it 6 out of 5 stars."
"Oh, I'm so happy," Kris said. "How about I give you a private show? I won't take no for an answer."
"I would love to see it, Kris," Vincent said.
"So would I," Sakura said.
"Let's show her some support, everybody!" Sora said, clapping his hands. Kairi followed along with Karen, Tom, Tracey, Vincent, and Sakura. Pikachu, Angel, Togepi, and the Pichu clapped as well. Kris and her Pokémon started to dance along with the music when it started. It was the exact same song that she played just when the group met up with her. Sora, Kairi, Karen, Tracey, Sakura, Tom, Vincent, Pikachu, Angel, Blossom, Togepi, and the Pichu were awestruck by how talented Kris is. The song ended as Kris and her Pokémon gave a bow. Sora, Kairi, Karen, Tracey, Sakura, Tom, Vincent, Pikachu, Angel, Blossom, Togepi, and the Pichu all applauded.
"That was wonderful, Kris!" Kairi said.
"Thank you," Kris said.
"You quite a dancer, Kris," Karen said.
"Pika, Pika, Pika," Blossom said.
"You could be a professional," Sakura said.
"Some people have been telling me they think I'm a movie star. But what I want to be is a Pokémon Idol," Kris said.
"Wow, that's quite a dream," Tom said.
"You see, what I want to do is to make people smile wherever I go. And when I battle, I like to give them a show," Kris said.
Suddenly group of Heartless appeared before them, alarming the group. The Heartless consisted of Powerwilds, Air Soldiers, Air Pirates, Cannon Guns, Minute Bombs, and some other new Heartless.
A Heartless that is short in stature, with a large red hat that covers its yellow eyes, a navy outfit, big white gloves and yellow shoes, a dark gray quiver strapped to the belt, a white scarf, and a silver bow placed vertically. This Heartless is known as the Bizarre Archer.
Another is a humanoid, muscular Heartless with gray skin, yellow eyes and lightning-shaped beard it wears black armor with blue highlights and the Heartless emblem on their chestplate along with a short skirt and twin gauntlets their shoulders have twin pauldrons with yellow spikes and white wings, their feet are reminiscent of goat hooves and their helm has two horns jutting out of it. This Heartless is known as a Satyr.
Another is a large brown Heartless that resembles a wooly mammoth. It has long tusks and yellow eyes. It has the Heartless emblem on its torso. This Heartless is known as the Mad Mammoth.
Another is a large silver Heartless that resembles a dragon. It has spiked spins on its from its head down to its tail. It has large wings. It has the Heartless emblem on its white underbelly and on the wings. This Heartless is known as the Silver Dragon.
Another is an Armadillo-like Heartless with a ruby on its forehead. It has the Heartless emblem on the jewel and large claws. It has a cyan underbelly and yellow eyes. This Heartless is known as Wreckadillo.
Another is a green seahorse-like Heartless has that has the Heartless emblem on its crest and a long, curly tail and yellow eyes. This is known as the Emblem Seahorse.
Another is a large centipede-like Heartless that has the Heartless emblem on its forehead and large mandibles. It has a purple body and yellow legs and yellow eyes. This Heartless is known as the Centible.
Another is a brown walrus-like Heartless that has the Heartless-like with a horn on its forehead. It has the Heartless emblem on its back. It is known as the Uni-Walrus.
Another is a red one eyed pterodactyl-like Heartless with a Heartless emblem on its chest. It has a pointed beak and its single eye is yellow. This Heartless is known as the Cyclodactyl.
Another is an ammonite-like Heartless with the Heartless symbol on its spiral shell. It has yellow eyes and brown tentacles. This Heartless is known as the Octoshell.
"Monsters!" Vincent exclaimed.
"Heartless!" Sora and Kairi exclaimed in shock as they summoned their Keyblades. Vincent was shocked to see the Keyblades appeared in their hands.
"Are those swords they're holding?" Vincent asked.
"Keyblades," Kris said. Vincent turned to look at her.
"You know about them, Kris, and if so, how long did you know?" Vincent asked.
"Ever since I first saw them. The monsters are the Heartless. They come from the darkness in the hearts of people. Sora and Kairi can handle them," Kris assured.
Several of the Powerwilds jumped forward, so Kairi slashed through some of them with her Destiny's Embrace as Sora slashed at one of the Air Pirates as one of the Mad Mammoths were charging at him. It spews cold air from its trunk, freezing the ground when Sora dodged. The Kingdom Key emits fire as Sora threw it at the mammoth-like Heartless, splitting it in half.
A Silver Dragon spews fire at Sora, but Kairi casts her reflect spell to make the flames bounce off while Sora lunged at the Silver Dragon, destroying it.
The Cannon Guns fired at the couple, so they dodged out of the way of the cannon fire. Sora and Kairi struck them down, so one of the Satyrs came charging at the couple, so Pikachu jumped in and fired a Thunderbolt at the Satyr, shocking it. Angel fires Swift, hitting several of the Heartless, destroying them. But more of the same Heartless kept on appearing.
"Sora, Kairi, get out of there! There's too many of them!" Tracey called out.
"You can't take them all on at once! Even the Pokémon won't be able to handle them all!" Karen said.
"They're right! We need to get out of here!" Kairi said.
"Let's bolt!" Sora agreed.
"Pika!" Pikachu said.
The group started to run as the Heartless started to pursue them.
"They're gaining on us!" Vincent exclaimed. Just then, an arrow is fired at them. It came from a Heartless that is a large, box-shaped, apparently mechanical Heartless with four black wheels, two on either side of its body. It appears to be predominantly made of wood. Its face takes up its entire front side, with a large, red, jagged mouth with yellow "lips" on its lower half, and a black "forehead" with silver, metal additives on it. Its eyes are a glowing yellow color and its Heartless emblem is in the middle of its face. There is a wooden guardrail on its top decorated by yellow and red patterns as well as four white spikes. The Heartless is known as the Infernal Engine.
Riding atop of the Infernal Engine are several smaller Heartless, we'll refer to them as "archers". Each of these Heartless wear silver armor, including a bullet-shaped helmet with an opening for their black faces and glowing yellow eyes. All of their helmets sport two short spikes and a curled, black antenna, and they do not seem to have legs, instead balancing on a spike. They wield large, indigo weapons that fire projectiles and each sports a Heartless emblem emblazoned on their chests.
"Shoot! There's a bigger one in front of us!" Tom said. Sakura turned around and saw the rest of the Heartless having had caught up with them.
"And the rest have shown up," Sakura said.
"We're trapped!" Karen said.
"Chu," Blossom said, holding the Pichu in her arms.
"The both of you stay close to me, no matter what. It's going to be okay." - Blossom subtitle.
"It looks like we'll have to take down as many as we can," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"If we're gonna go down, let's go down together," Kairi said. Sora nodded in agreement and held his Keyblade tight. The Infernal Engine opened its mouth and brought out a cannon. It fired at them, so they dodged as the Archers fired their arrows.
The lesser Heartless came at the couple, and they struck down any of the Heartless that came at them. The Infernal Engine opened its mouth again and a hammer came out. It slams the hammer down, making Karen, Tracey, Vincent, Kris, Tom, Sakura, and the other Pokémon run for it.
"Little Miss! Use Psybeam!" Kris ordered. Little Miss fired Psybeam right at the Heartless, destroying some of them. "Pink! Use Dazzling Gleam!" Pink unleashed Dazzling Gleam, destroying some more. "Wani-Wani! Water Gun!" Wani-Wani fired Water Gun and he pushed the Heartless against the Heartless behind them. The Heartless just kept coming. She looked between the Infernal Engine and the other Heartless. She knew Sora and Kairi would eventually fall by their hands, and she wished she could help them out. The Infernal Engine opened its mouth again and several balls came rolling out. "Sora, Kairi, look out!" They turned to see the balls, and they managed to dodge the balls coming at them. The Archers fired more arrows again, aiming at her, Karen, Vincent, Tracey, Sakura, Tom, and the other Pokémon. Kris gasped as the arrows heads right at them. "No!" Suddenly, a flash of light surrounds Kris as a Keyblade suddenly appeared in her hand. This Keyblade is shaped like Suicune's mane. The teeth are shaped like Suicune's two tails. The guard has the design of a Suicune's crest. The Keychain token is a miniature Suicune. We shall call it Ice Crystal Suicune. She used it to block the arrows. Everyone were surprised by what they saw, no more than Kris was. First it was Ethan, then it was Lyra, and now it was her who had a Keyblade. "I have a Keyblade. My very own Keyblade."
"Kris was chosen to wield a Keyblade," Karen said.
"Chu," Blossom said. Blossom looked at Karen. "Pika!" Karen nodded.
"You're right, Blossom," Karen agreed. "Kris! Use the Keyblade to help my brother and his girlfriend!" Kris looked at her.
"But-" Kris said.
"Don't argue with me! They can't handle this many by themselves, and Riku, Ethan, and Lyra aren't here! Use your Keyblade!" Karen said. Kris knew Karen was right. She had to use her Keyblade, so she engaged the Heartless with her new Ice Crystal Suicune and slashed through the attacking Heartless. Sora and Kairi were awestruck to see Kris has a Keyblade of her own.
"Kris, you got a Keyblade," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"I couldn't let those awful Heartless win," Kris said.
"Great! Let's get this party started," Sora said.
"Pika, Pika!" Pikachu said.
The Keyblade wielding Pokémon Trainers and the Pokémon fought off the Heartless. The Infernal Engine opened its mouth again and the cannon came out and fired at them. Kris blocked it and the cannonball hits the Archers, destroying them. Sora, Kairi, and Kris ran towards the large Heartless.
"Girls, now!" Sora said.
"Come on!" Kris said.
"Now!" Kairi said.
They slashed their Keyblades at the large Heartless at the same time. The Infernal Engine collapsed and one of its wheels rolled to the side. Its body started to vanish as a heart floats up into the air and vanished. The rest of the Heartless were either finished off.
"We did!" Kris panted.
"You were great," Sora panted.
"Thank you," Kris panted.
"I sure wasn't expecting that to happened, but I'm glad it did," Kairi panted.
"Kris, you alright?!" Vincent exclaimed, concerned.
"I'm fine, Vincent," Kris assured.
"We're alright, too, if you're wondering," Sora said.
"Would you tell me what the hell is going on?" Vincent asked.
Sora sighed, knowing the secret was out.
"Okay, it's like this," Sora said. Sora explained to Vincent about the Heartless, the Nobodies, and Organization XIII. He started with their time in the realm of darkness as Ethan had gained a Keyblade and defeated Ansem and prevent the door to darkness from opening. He explained about Lyra gaining her Keyblade just before the Greenfield incident, and about Karen being out in Johto, looking for Tom who was possessed by ExDark while calling himself Trickster, planning on rendering both the Pokémon and the human race extinct, and they freed Tom and destroyed ExDark along with Roxas who has a Keyblade just like Sora and Kairi. Vincent was amazed, awestruck, and dumbfounded by what he was told. "And that just pretty much covers it."
"Wow, this is a lot to swallow. Just so I make sure I understand, you're telling me that those hooded guys, who aren't even human, they're what you call Nobodies when someone with a strong heart turns into a Heartless, but they still have their human forms, and Tom who had his body snatched by a demon who wants to kill everyone and everything and you two foiled it along with one of the Organization members?" Vincent said.
"Yup," Sora said.
"Sounds scary. I thought that whole monster talk was a bunch of baloney, but it looks like I was wrong about that," Vincent said.
"I can't believe there's a Nobody with a Keyblade. What did you know about him?" Kris asked.
"Just his name. The weirdest part of the story is, he had Ven's voice. I think I might have been hearing things," Sora said.
"Who's Ven?" Vincent asked.
"He's Sora's younger cousin. I heard it, too, but I think Organization XIII might be trying to trick us, using a voice we recognize," Kairi said. The group didn't know what to make out of it. They joined Kris at her camp for the night.
On the next morning, Kris decided to stick with the group just so she could learn how to use the Keyblade. Vincent was going his own way.
"You sure you won't be sticking with us a little while longer?" Sora asked.
"I'm sure. Besides, I wanna do some more training for my Gym battle. Also, I don't want to get mixed up with the Heartless again," Vincent said.
"It's cool, Vincent. But we can meet up again," Sora said.
"That I'm actually looking forward to. Now, I'm off!" Vincent said.
With that said, Sora, Kairi, Kris, Karen, Tracey, Sakura, Tom, Pikachu, Angel, Blossom, Togepi, and the Pichu said their goodbyes to Vincent as he went off for do some solo training, while wearing his cape. As he ran off, he tripped over his cape and lands on his face.
"Is he alright?" Karen asked.
"He'll be fine," Kris assured.
