"Ouch," Jack said when he woke up. His head was killing him. That firewhiskey packed a punch. He closed one eye and looked around. Beside him, encased in emerald sheets, was a beautiful brunette, still asleep. "Oh man," Jack said as he tried to remember last night. It was fuzzy, but pleasurable.

Pansy stirred and rolled over. "Oh," she said simply, obviously feeling the same hangover as Jack. She reached one hand out from under the covers and grabbed a carved stick from the nightstand. She waved it and a glass with bubbling liquid appeared on each of the matching nightstands. "Drink it" she groaned.

Jack took the delicate glass and drained it as instructed. In a second, he felt great. Better than ever really. "What was that?" he asked.

"A potion," she said simply. "Hangover cure. Very handy." After she finished hers, she ran her hands through her hair and said, "You better go down for breakfast before someone comes looking for you."

Jack nodded and realized he wasn't wearing any clothes.

"I think that you left them by the fireplace," Pansy said with a smile. She pulled the covers back for him to get out of the bed, giving him a view of her beautiful body.

Memories flooded back and Jack remembered the night before. He smiled at her and she smiled back. He gave her a long kiss before he got up to find his clothes.

"Did you have a good night?" Neville asked as Jack took a sip of coffee.

Jack almost spit the coffee out as Pansy entered the Great Hall from a side corridor. "Yeah," he said. "I feel great."

"Morning," Pansy said as she took her seat next to Jack. She made sure to brush against him slightly as she sat. "Are you well, Headmaster?" she asked, no trace of a smile on her face.

"Morning, Professor," Neville said. "Would you mind escorting our guest to the Quidditch Cup activities today?"

"What's a Quidditch Cup?" Jack asked.

"Quidditch is a team sport with enough rules and strategies that you would need a long lesson on them. I'm sure Professor Parkinson will teach you enough to get by," Neville said.

"He is a fast learner," Pansy said with a laugh.

Jack smiled and quickly put a muffin in his mouth as he watched Sam come into the Great Hall for breakfast. She was surrounded by a gaggle of students her own age and seemed to be having a blast. She looked up at her dad as she took a seat and after a quick wave went back to talking and laughing with her new friends. Jack could tell that she was happier than she'd been in a long time.

"I can't believe you learn math in school," a blonde haired girl said as she laughed.

"I can't believe you don't," Sam said. "Is that why nothing around here is flat for straight?"

"Now you are getting it," Colin said. "We just make things and they kind of work out. That's what spells are all about."

Sam stole a glance at Colin. She'd spent a lot of time talking to Rose and the other girls last night, learning a little about Hogwarts and magic, and telling them everything about boy bands and taxis. She was drawn to Colin and wanted to talk to him more. He radiated something that she had no words for. She'd not had a boyfriend before, they never seemed important, but it seemed different when he was around.

"Try this," Rose said as she pushed a platter towards Sam. It was filled with little pastries that tasted amazing.

Sam couldn't understand how everything seemed tastier here, was that magic too? "Why is everything so good?" Sam asked.

"Magic," Colin laughed from across the table. "Just think of it as behind everything you don't understand and then you've got it. Like the Quidditch tournament today, it will seem crazy but it's all magic, from the flying brooms to the enchanted Bludgers. Forget about worrying about the how, and enjoy the event. You'll end up loving Quidditch like the rest of us."

"I wish I could fly on a broom, it sounds fun," Sam said.

"Hey Colin," Rose said, "you should take Sam out for a quick flight after the tournament. Just to show her what it's like. None of us are good enough to take her."

"Sure, I can do that," Colin said. He was completely unaware that Sam's heart skipped a beat.
