Welcome to the second chapter of this story. Thanks for all the reviews and feedback. In this chapter, we get to see what Izuku's classmates think about his quirk and how powerful it is. Then we get to see how the family dynamic of the Sutāku family changes.

And as before I do not own any rights to Marvel or MY HERO ACADEMIA or any of their characters.

With that let's begin

On Monday, as homeroom started, Izuku was called to the front of the class and asked to demonstrate his quirk. Izuku asked for a phone charger and a phone. The teacher handed Izuku his phone and phone charger from the desk. Izuku demonstrated how he could use the static electricity within his body to charge the phone. By holding the USB port in his hand.

"Can you shoot out electricity?" A kid asked.

"The doctor states I won't be able to naturally produce lightning. I will need equipment to siphon the electricity out of my body." Izuku said, his smile dropping slightly.

"So you're basically a large battery." Katsuki laughed and the rest of the class joined in, "I would rather be quirkless than you would have an excuse to be so useless. There's no way you can become a hero with such a useless quirk."

Izuku dropped his head and handed the phone and charger back to the teacher, then slowly walked back to his desk. He put his arms on his desk and used them to cover the majority of his face as he looked up at the board.

"Thank you for that demonstration of your quirk, Izuku." The teacher said, making no note of the harassment from the other kids. Izuku really didn't pay attention for the rest of the class, just sat wallowing in his own self-pity. He sat alone at lunch, not listening to anyone talk about him. He only listened in class, not answering any of the questions. Once the bell had rung, Izuku quietly got his materials in his backpack, and then quickly walked out of the school.

He said nothing as Inko drove him home and he headed directly for his room. He sat on his bed, his All Might blanket covering him. He was crying when a knock came from the door, "Are you feeling alright Izuku?" His mom asked.

"Why is my quirk so useless?" Izuku cried from under his blanket. Inko took in a sharp breath, it was clear his quirk demonstration hadn't ended on a good note. Inko slowly opened the door, to see her son sitting on his bed with the blinds closed.

"Izuku, you're quirk is not useless. It's amazing and I'm sure you'll eventually find a way to use it. Look at Whiplash." Inko knew he wasn't exactly the best hero to use for an example, but he was the first one she thought of, "His quirk doesn't allow him to shoot out lightning, but he uses equipment to defeat villains."

That did little to cheer up Izuku. Inko sat next to her son for a bit, rubbing circles on his back. They sat like that until Inko had to disappear to make dinner. Dinner brought a small smile to Izuku, but after the table was cleared up, he quickly disappeared back into his room.

he sat in his room and heard his mother talk to his father about the day. In the end, Hisashi just reaffirmed his desire to help his son. Yet over the overcoming years, it seemed that he slowly forgot about that promise. He spent less and less time at home. The time he was home, he became paranoid and mumbled a lot under his breath. Until eventually he stopped coming home. This didn't help Izuku mentally, seeing this as an act of abandonment just added to the depression Izuku got from the kids in his classes constantly making fun of him. Izuku believed his mom saw it the same, as she eventually divorced Hisashi and took to her maiden name. Inko stopped talking about Hisashi and eventually took down all the photos of him around the apartment.

As the years came and went, Izuku became socially awkward. Barely talking in class, and only giving a quick responses. He mainly kept to himself and wrote in his journals, "Hero analysis for the future." Bakugo became distanced, and soon was bullying Izuku for a weak quirk. Soon Izuku lost his only friend and with Bakugo's brash attitude to him, it discouraged others from trying to form a friendship with the depressed kid.

At home, it wasn't any better. Izuku did his best to hide his depression from his mom. When he got home, he would give a quick smile and then disappear into his room. He always claimed he was working on homework, which he was. But once he was done, he was online looking at hero news. When that got boring, Izuku would spend days looking at the blank home screen. As he got older he began researching options of how to become a hero, but none of the possibilities seemed achievable.

Most electricity quirk users were able to discharge it in some form. Those that couldn't, weren't popular heroes and had to use a bunch of equipment. Izuku tried to get a hold of those heroes, but the few that responded said that it wasn't worth the training. They said Izuku would have better luck going into a different career field.

Izuku couldn't believe his luck. He wanted to be a hero, to save those around him, but nothing seemed to work for him. He was simply stuck with a powerful quirk, but no way to use it.

Inko could see her once cheerful and optimistic kid turn into a depressed and forgotten kid. Izuku was trying to hide it, but she could see it in his eyes. Life wasn't just unfair, it was crude and horrible. She could tell every day was becoming harder and harder for Izuku to get through.

Inko had always wished she could find a way to help her son. As Izuku grew up that wish became stronger, but it is hard for Inko to stay optimistic in times like this. She worried for her son, but she knew she couldn't do much to help him.

Nevertheless, she held out hope that by some miracle, together they could find something that would allow Izuku to become a hero. The thought should have been a happy one, but all it did was remind Inko how useless she was when it came to helping her son. She would need a miracle to find a solution. The first miracle happened when Izuku was 12.

At the time Inko was no closer to finding a way to help her son. She had a degree and career in business, so there wasn't much she could do to help her son. Yet she wanted to, so ideas flowed through her head as she walked back to her room. She was pulling out her dirty cloth hamper from the closet when suddenly something fell from the top shelf of the closet. It was heavy and it landed directly on Inko's foot. After covering her mouth to stop herself from swearing, she looked at what landed on her foot.

It was a large textbook, the kind you get in college. Inko looked at the cover and it read, "An Introduction to Mechanical Engineering. Vol 2." It was a textbook from her ex-husband's college days. Inko grabbed the book and looked through it a bit. She didn't understand much of what the book was talking about, only discussing engineering to make conversation with her ex-husband.

However, the book sparked an idea in Inko's mind. An idea she knew would help her son, however, Izuku needed to grow a bit before putting the idea into a plan.

All she needed was a second miracle to help put her plan into action. Luckily this time it would only take a year for the second miracle to happen.

Ever since getting his quirk, Izuku did his best to stay out of the spotlight. Not that he needed any help. He always got the best test score, not that the teachers ever cared to share. Always making it seem like a different student did better. Izuku was a loner in all senses of the word, so he spent most of his free time in his room or down at the local beach.

Though the beach was filled with trash, it made Izuku feel like he was surrounded by more useless things than him. It was a sad thought, but it was better than hanging around school or spending all day in his room feeling sorry for him.

One Saturday when Izuku was 13, he took off early, as the sun was beginning to rise. And jogged the distance to the beach. He slipped over the railing that cut off the sidewalk to the sand. He walked through the pile of trash, before coming to his usual spot. It didn't provide a clear view of the ocean, but it was the best Izuku could find.

He had tried to clear the trash, first starting with the small pieces. However, once he got to the heavy pieces that he struggled with, he gave up and just enjoyed the beach for what it was. As the sun rose high enough to shower Izuku with sunlight, he heard a faint beeping a few feet away.

"Where is that battery?" a voice said. It caught Izuku off guard, so much so that he almost lept off his chair.

After calming himself down, Izuku got out of his lawn chair and climbed over the trash pile behind him. When he looked down he saw a girl with pink dreads, wearing blue overalls, though the straps hung around her waist. She had a black undershirt with black boots on.

"I know it's around here somewhere. Uh… all this trash is messing with the sensors." the girl complained, as she hit a device in her hands. She turned and looked at the pile Izuku was resting on. He quickly slid down so the girl won't see him, "I think it's in this direction." The girl began to walk around the trash pile.

Izuku looked around for a spot he could jump to and hide, however, nothing looked stable enough to support the landing. So he just walked as the girl got to the front side of the pile and looked at the beach.

"Now it's behind me." The girl turned around and looked at the trash pile, "Must be in here somewhere." The girl looked at the sensor, then back at the trash pile. She walked towards it and kicked it a bit, "Well a hot shower is going to feel nice after this."

Izuku took a deep breath, as the girl kicked the trash. With her kick, Izuku's foothold, a kitchen sink, came loose. Suddenly it fell down and Izuku felt himself go down with it.

"Crap!" He yelled as he fell and hit the ground, rolling back a few feet, before he hit his head on the leg of an old beat-up couch. As Izuku slowly sat up, the girl yelled.

"Who are you?" she was holding up the sensor like a weapon. Before Izuku had a chance to offer an answer, the sensor beeped. The girl looked down at it. Izuku saw a little arrow pointing directly back at him. The girl turned slightly, but the arrow stayed pointed at Izuku. The girl looked from the sensor to Izuku, then back to the sensor, and then back to Izuku.

Suddenly she jumped at him, demanding, "Where's the battery, where's the battery? I need that battery." The girl landed on top of Izuku and started scratching him with her nails.

Izuku managed to wrestle the girl off of him and run away before the girl got another chance to attack. He ran up to the sidewalk and leapt over the guard rail. He briefly stopped to make sure the girl wasn't following him, before running back to his house. Once there he got in and locked the door.

"You're home early." Inko said, from the kitchen, "Maybe you'll actually have time for breakfast."

Izuku said nothing as he sat down on the couch, watching the forward door. Inko noticed and asked, "Are you waiting for someone?"

"More like watching out for someone?" Izuku said not taking his eyes off the front door. Inko looked at her son, a little concerned for his mental health. Maybe she should give him the book and give him something to work forwards to. Maybe he could take after her ex-husband. Become an engineer and build something that helped him become a hero. Similar to the promise her ex-husband made all those years ago.

"Well breakfast is ready. Maybe you should eat on time now." Inko said, placing onigiri rice on the table. Izuku reluctantly walked over to the tables, trying his best to keep the front door in view, however, Inko had already sat down, leaving the only chair with its back to the front door.

Izuku sighed as he sat down and grabbed some rice. His stomach growled as he ate breakfast, his mind soon forgetting the crazy girl from the beach. However, fate enjoys pulling a sick joke on the Midoriya family.

Three hours later, Izuku was watching the Tv, a conference talking about the heroes' recent activity when a knock came from the door. Izuku lowered the volume on the TV, while his mother got up to answer the door.

"Hello, Ms. Midoriya. Sorry to disturb you, but are you familiar with this girl." the Police officer asked at the door. Izuku leaned back a bit and saw that it was the girl from the beach, with the sensor still in hand.

The girl noticed him, resulting in her jumping forwards, and yelling, "He's got my battery. He's got my battery." After pulling the girl back, the police officer looked further into the apartment and met eyes with Izuku

"Son, can you come to the door for me?" Inko asked, looking back at her son

Izuku sighed as he walked to the front door, trying not to stare at the girl. "This girl here claims you stole a battery from her." The police officer said.

"Is that why you're here?" Inko chuckled a bit, "I'm sure the police have something better to do with their time."

The police officer sighed a bit, "I came because we got a call from your neighbour that this girl was stalking around the apartment, more specifically yours. When asked, she claimed your son stole some kind of battery from her. I'm simply now trying to figure out what's going on."

"Officer, I can assure you that my son has stolen nothing in his life," Inko stated.

"I understand, however, this is a case of civil dispute, and it would greatly help if you were willing to come down to the station and clear the air. You may also press charges for trespassing." the officer threw a stern look at the girl. However, she didn't seem to notice it.

"There's no need for that. We'll come down to the station and help any way we can." Inko said, bowing. It was clear the officer wasn't fully sure how to handle the situation, it's not often something like this happens.

The officer bowed slightly, without taking his hand off the girl's shoulder, "Thank you, it will help with the paperwork greatly."

Inko returned the bow, as she grabbed her purse and car key, "Izuku grab your shoes, it looks like we are going on a trip."

And that's chapter 2. It might be a little hard to read, as it kind of jumps around a bit. Last Chapter and this chapter were all written within the first week of creating this story. So a lot was building the characters and that stuff.

I tried to go back and make it more like a novel, but in my mind, this felt like the better way of writing this chapter. I was still in the early stages of this story, so I didn't feel like writing five chapters about Izuku growing up. Which in all honestly won't impact the story that much, so it was easier to write the small snips you see within this chapter.

Then for the last part of the chapter, I decided to introduce the Ball of Energy and Crazed Inventor that is Mei Hatsumi. The next Chapter will deal with Mei's actions and setting up Izuku's first step to becoming a hero.

Tell me what you think of the story and see you next week.
