Mon-El entered the halls of the Vatican and came before Pope Barney on his throne. "Why have you summoned me here?" he asked annoyed.

"I have seen the misery of my people in Sadala. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering. So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of their oppressors and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey," Pope Barney said.

"Why should I give a shit?" Mon wondered.

"So now, go. I am sending you to the slave-master king to bring my people to a new world," Pope Barney ordered.

"Who am I that you think you can give me orders?" Mon refused.

"I will be with you...electronically," Pope Barney assured him.

"I've assessed the situation and I'm going to leave," Mon said flipping him off.

"The people in question are Jin-Saiyan," Pope Barney revealed.

Mon suddenly stopped and turned back. "You fucking serious?"

"Indeed," Pope Barney confirmed.

"I don't know if I can do this. I have no Insane honor," Mon doubted himself.

"It seems...you do not know a great many things...including what is worthy of honor," Pope Barney chided.

"And you do? You're a fucking machine," Mon said annoyed.

Pope Barney summoned some priests to hand him a new expensive tapestry for his inspection. "A single thread in a tapestry though its color brightly shines can never see its purpose in the pattern of the grand design and the code that was written first, does it think it's more important than the code that was written last in a program? So how can you see what your life is worth or where your value lies? You can never see through the eyes of man. You must look at your life. Look at your life through heaven's eyes."

"I have lost everything," Mon told him.

"Have you truly lost your worth or is it the beginning of a new and brighter birth?" Pope Barney asked rhetorically.

"I got nothing," Mon shook his head.

"Even so, there's a lot to go around. No life can escape being blown about by the winds of change and chance and though you never know all the steps. You must learn to join the dance," Pope Barney said.

"I know you're playing me...but you're right," Mon smiled.

"Go free your people, Prince of all Insane," Pope Barney encouraged.

Fortress of Solitude

Mon found Kara in the Fortress of Solitude having a conversation with the Alex AI program. "I'm leaving," he said interrupting her.

"Where?" Kara demanded. "We haven't even had our honeymoon yet."

"Sadala," Mon said vaguely.

"What the fuck is there? Another race for you to murder and pillage?" Kara asked disdainfully.

"My people, the Jin-Saiyan are there," Mon said softly.

"Holy shit. Really?" Kara asked amazed.

"Barney found survivors there. I'm going there to make my rightful claim as their king," Mon said ambitiously.

"Where does that leave me?" Kara wondered.

"I was hoping to not bring you up," Mon said honestly.

"You bastard. We're married now. That makes me your queen on this world," Kara said defensively.

"This was a horrible mistake," Mon realized. "They will never accept a Kryptonian as their queen."

"So don't tell them. We look so much alike anyway," Kara said simply.

"You can't use any of your bullshit Kryptonian powers," Mon reminded her.

"Obviously," Kara said scornfully.

Mon got close to her as he towered over her. "If you try to take the planet for yourself, I'll destroy it with everyone on it."

Kara smirked, having had no intention to do so. "Don't worry. Salada is yours."

"Suit up," Mon ordered her.

Salada

Using the Vindicator cruiser, Mon and Kara arrived on the planet undetected. It was a mostly desert world with a major sea and a river that supported the only civilization present. Mon immediately sensed a large number of Insane ki signatures. There were thousands of them but they all had pitifully low power levels. Mon and Kara wore a black gi, white boots, a utility belt, white Insane armor, and shoulder pads. Kara couldn't help but be amused by the Insane fashion compared to her own Kryptonian.

Mon eyed a major city uncertain of his position. "What are you so nervous and shook up about? All those you betrayed and hate you are dead now," Kara said insensitively.

"It's best if you don't talk," Mon told her off.

The two instantly teleported inside the city and made their way toward the palace. The building construction for the common people was clay and straw. The palace, itself, was made of a rich limestone. The Insane commoners gave Mon and Kara an odd look as they worked on various construction projects. The city was full of statues in the king's likeness made of stone.

Mon and Kara made their way inside the palace and found the king and his nobles waiting for them. The king and his nobles were all Clerics, a powerful race the Insane had been forced to retreat from a thousand years ago. Now, they had made the Insane their slaves as part of their holy crusade. The Clerics look humanoid in shape but had blue skin, white eyes, and white hair. They wore blue tunic robes.

"I am Prince Mon-El. You will let my people go," Mon ordered the king.

"Who are you that I should obey you and let your people go? I do not know of any Prince Mon except for a thousand years ago, so I will not let your people go," Cleric told him.

"If you refuse, I will kick your ass with plagues and the sword," Mon threatened.

"You will not stop my Insane slaves from working. For your arrogance, their workload will be doubled but without any additional materials. Now, go," Cleric said sending them away.

Mon and Kara gave each other looks and realized the fun would be over way too quickly if they simply slaughtered this gathering. So they both left the palace only to be met with pissed-off Insane workers. "Why have you brought this trouble on us? Your obnoxiousness will get us killed," they protested to them.

"You will see what I can do. With my mighty hand, I will force the king to let you go," Mon promised them. "I am Prince Mon and I will free you from the Clerics and I will redeem you with mighty acts of judgment. You will be my people and you will make me your king. And I will bring you to a new world with milk and honey."

The Insane gave him a skeptical look. Even Kara rolled her eyes.

Mon and Kara went back to the palace. This time, Mon pointed his hand at the king and created an energy sphere. Cleric was unimpressed and summoned two of his men to do the same. Mon proceeded to incinerate both of them with superior firepower but Cleric was unmoved. "I will not let your people go," he told them.

"Well...shit," Mon realized.

Exiting the palace, Mon considered his next move. Disgruntled Insane laborers grumbled at Mon and one threw a glob of clay in his direction. Mon quickly dodged the attack. "Who the fuck threw that?" he demanded outraged.

"So, the dynasty of Mon has returned to make our lives even more miserable," Sodom Yat said to him.

"I'm here to care for your well-being," Mon said with false sincerity.

"When did the House of Mon ever care for any of us? In fact, when did any in your family ever care about us?" Sodom asked skeptically. "Did it ever occur to you that you are one of us?"

"I did not see...because I did not wish to see," Mon said simply completely unrepentant.

"Well, that makes everything fine then," Sodom scoffed.

"Sodom, you shame yourself," Cara Yat, his mother, scolded him. Cara then went over to Mon fearlessly. "Prince Mon, listen to what I say, I've been a slave my whole life and our gods have never answered our prayers until now. The gods saved you from Darkseid, brought you to this time, and even saved you from the wrath of the Cleric. Our gods will not abandon you so don't abandon us."

Mon was greatly moved by her words and walked towards the great river. There, the Cleric rested on a large boat on the river. Mon confronted him on the shore. "Cleric, let my people go," he ordered.

"You still on about that?" Cleric asked dismissively. "Carry on," he said to his men.

"You can't keep ignoring me," Mon told him off.

"Enough, I will hear no more of this Insane nonsense. Release...the hounds," Cleric said lazily.

Wild dogs leaped into the water and went straight for him. Mon fired beams at the dogs blasting them to pieces and bloodying up the river. Mon then fired into the river creating powerful explosions that turned the river into steam and uprooted the wet red clay underneath. In short order, the entire river was completely muddy and undrinkable in an environmental catastrophe. All the animal and plant life in the river and on the shores died quickly.

Cleric looked over the river unimpressed and then chuckled a bit. "Abandon this futile mission, Prince Mon. I have indulged you well enough. This must be...finished," Cleric said and then took off on his boat.

"No, it's only the beginning, asshole," Mon said as the Cleric disappeared from view. Mon then turned back to his Insane people who were giving him a skeptical look. They also needed the river for water and food.

"Cleric still has power over our lives," Sodom complained.

Mon gave him an impatient look. "Yes, Sodom, it's true. Cleric has the power. He can take away your food, your home, your freedom. He can take away your sons and daughters. With one word, Cleric can even take your lives," Mon said and then let it hang.

There was an awkward silence among the group until Kara gave Mon an elbow to his ribs. "But what Cleric can't take away from you...is your faith...in me," Mon said arrogantly. "Believe...for you will see my wonders."

Mon's actions created a chain reaction of events. Alien-looking frogs exited the poisonous river and made a mess of things until they all died on land. The death of the frogs everywhere created an awful stench. With the frogs gone, insects rapidly took over stinging and biting all the people and the animals. Mon and Kara remained protected from these plagues as the insects were incinerated by their energy fields.

The insect plague quickly destroyed all of the crops and killed the livestock. The land was now facing a massive famine. With the crops dead and the water gone, the soil became dusty and created a large dust storm over the land. It became so thick that day turned to night. Mon went up above the dust clouds and powered up to Super Insane creating a storm around him. The massive storm struck the city with lightning and hail as Mon influenced the weather. From the air, Mon fired a rain of fire down on the city creating uncontrollable fires on all the streets. Statues of Cleric crumbled and collapsed upon being hit. Due to the miserable conditions, disease quickly spread throughout the city. All the while, Mon taunted Cleric.

"I send a pestilence and plague into your house, into your bed, into your streams, into your street, into your drink, into your bread, upon your cattle, on your sheep, upon your oxen in your field, into your dreams, into your sleep, until you break, until you yield. I send the swarm; I send the horde. I send the thunder from the sky. I send the fire raining down. And even now, serving as your foe is all I've ever wanted. I send a hail of burning ice on every field, on every town. All this pain and devastation, how it pleasures me inside. I send my scourge, I send my sword upon you," Mon told Cleric as the city burned.

"Why are you doing this?" Cleric asked slightly annoyed.

"Because no kingdom should be made on the backs of slaves," Mon said self-righteously.

"Do you listen to yourself? The Insane have enslaved and conquered races for thousands of years. What you're doing on Earth is just slavery with extra steps," Cleric lectured.

"Your stubbornness is bringing all this misery upon your people," Mon pointed out. "It would cease if you just let the Insane go."

"I will not be dictated to. I will not be threatened. I am Cleric!" he refused.

"If you don't let my people go, I'll kill every first-born son of your race starting with you," Mon threatened.

"You Insane have been nothing but trouble. You have my permission to leave," Cleric said finally.

Mon proceeded to lead the Insane out of the city with no resistance from the Clerics. The celebratory Insane traveled on foot to a staging ground where they would be taken to a new world. Mon and Kara were at the front as they made their way through the mountainous desert environment. Eventually, they came upon a large sea where they took up camp.

"So, how are we going to move them all?" Kara wondered having not thought that part out.

"Instant transmission them all to Earth," Mon said simply.

"You're fucking high if you think I'll let your people on Earth run amok," Kara refused.

"Would you be saying the same thing if these people were Kryptonians?" Mon asked skeptically.

"Yes," Kara said obviously.

"Well...shit," Mon wondered and then considered another planet to put them on.

Their thoughts were interrupted by a large Cleric army approaching. Armored vehicles, tanks, missile batteries, and troop carriers arrived on the scene to exterminate the Insane. The Insane were trapped by the sea unable to cross it. "Show them," Kara encouraged Mon.

Mon came forth and powered up to Super Insane creating an intense golden flame around him. As he powered up fully, his aura of golden flames reached the sky in a pillar of fire. The Cleric army was kept at bay as Mon created a wall of fire around him. At this point, Kara still appeared Insane with her uniform on. No one had questioned whether she was anything but Insane. In front of everyone, she stepped onto the water and made her way to the halfway point. The water then swayed away from her boots as she reached the bottom. A half-dome was created in the sea keeping the water back so the Insane could cross.

The Insane reluctantly crossed the sea and gave Kara an odd look as they went around her. Shadows of large sea monsters could be seen on the other side of the water. Seeing everyone nearly across, Mon powered down and instantly teleported to the other side. "Kill them, kill them all!" Cleric ordered his men.

The Cleric army also drove on the land towards the defenseless Insane. Some of the armored vehicles became stuck in the muddy ground and were abandoned. The Cleric army then resorted to chasing down the Insane on foot with rifles and blades. Once all the Insane were on shore, Kara powered down allowing the water to crash down upon her. The water quickly crushed the Cleric army as the sea filled up. Cleric was blasted by the water until he ended up on the opposite side of the sea dumbfounded.

The Insane then eyed Mon and Kara with amazement. "Look at your Insane people, Mon. They are free," Kara said to him.

"Too easy," Mon smirked.

Kara then gave him a teary-eyed expression. "Forgive me?" she asked of him referring to her Insane slaughter a thousand years ago.

"This one time," Mon allowed and then embraced her. With his people now found and under his command, Mon felt whole once more. He then spoke to the people to give them some commandments.

"I am your King, who brought you out of this shit-hole, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other king but me. You shall not make for yourself a carved image except for me, your king. For I am a jealous king. You shall not take my name, your king, in vain. Remember my Ascension Day and keep it holy. There shall be no work on that day. Honor your father, your mother, and your king. You shall not kill...an Insane...without due process of law. You shall not commit adultery...if you're a woman. You shall not steal shit. You shall not talk shit against your neighbor. You shall not covet your neighbor's shit," Mon ordered.

"Yes, Your Highness!" they all shouted.

New Mon

Eventually, Mon and Kara got all the Insane over to another desert-looking planet henceforth named Planet Mon. Unfortunately, there was an already existing population of pirates, traders, and infidels present. Mon gathered the leaders of twelve semi-equal numbered tribes to him for a meeting. They were named Bukha, Cabba, Eshallot, Gine, Jagamo, Kalif, Nira, Onio, Panbukin, Seripa, Toma, Vasabi, "I want a census," Mon ordered.

After a quick count, the number ended up being around 600,000 Insane. "Holy shit," Kara realized.

"What house does your wife come from?" Cabba asked.

Mon was about to tell Cabba to go fuck himself but realized his political situation was a bit shaky. "She's of the House of...Karakot." Kara gave him a WTF look but remained silent. The tribal leaders were appeased by this Insane-sounding name. "For asking that dumb-ass question, you just signed up your house to be priests."

The House of Cabba grumbled at this but let it go. "Anyone else have a question about my wife?" Mon asked rhetorically. No one said anything. "Good, she may not look it but she's almost as strong as I am. So even if you somehow got past me, she would no doubt destroy you."

The Insane nodded believing Kara's blond hair meant she had also achieved Super-Insane status. They were particularly impressed she was able to stay Super Insane all day. "Alright, the first order of business is to remove from the camp anyone with a skin disease, bodily discharge or has been around a dead body. They need to be quarantined," Mon ordered.

When that was done, Mon continued. "The new justice system is when anyone has wronged another, that person is to pay restitution to the family of the victim. We, Insane, do not take kindly to imprisonment."

As they were talking, a mob of Insane took a woman into the center of the camp and accused her of adultery. Her clothes were cut to expose her heart but a rope was placed above her breasts to keep her garment from falling off her. Mon, Kara, and the tribal leaders took some notice of what was going on. Mon interrupted their little trial as the woman was about to be sentenced. "What is this all about?"

"She's committed adultery, my lord," one said to him.

"Do you have proof, witnesses?" Mon asked.

"No," they all shook their heads. "But our tradition states that if she were to drink of this bitter poisonous water if her belly should swell and her thighs shrivel, she be guilty. If she is innocent, she'll be unaffected and conceive."

Kara gave a shocked and appalled look but kept her mouth shut. Mon noticed her expression. "If she dies of the bitter water, the man she was with will also die...miraculously."

"Sounds like bullshit. Carry on," Kara said unimpressed.

"If she's innocent, the bitter water will make it so that the next time she conceives it will be a male child," Mon added.

"Keeps getting better and better," Kara rolled her eyes.

Mon decided to use a stalling tactic on the matter. "The ritual of the bitter water cannot be performed unless it is in the temple and the temple hasn't been built yet. So, get to building."

The Insane mob went about their business disappointed but somewhat hopeful that one day they would have a temple of their own. The Insane woman gave everyone awkward looks as she was freed. "What is your name?" Mon ordered.

"Bal Gand. I am a member of your royal house, my lord," she said. "My son is Eltro."

"Bring him forth," Mon ordered.

When Eltro came forward he was just a teenager but there was an unmistakable resemblance between them. Mon's first instinct was to annihilate every living Gand relative to preserve his own son's throne but then realized times were different now. "Eltro, the royal blood running through your veins is the same as mine. You will be my apprentice. I will teach you the ways of the Super Insane."

Eltro took a knee before Mon. "Yes, my master," he replied.

Mon then turned to Bal. "Is he strong?"

"Stronger than most," she replied.

"We'll put that to the test," Mon smirked.

Mon then addressed the entire group of 600,000 Insane. "May I bless you and keep you, may my face smile upon you and be gracious to you, and give you war." The crowd roared enthusiastically to him. Even Kara couldn't help but smile at Mon's moment.

Mon quickly gave out orders with Kara at his side the entire time. "You don't sacrifice your own livestock and crops to me, you make the enemy sacrifice their livestock and crops to me," he corrected a tribal leader.

Mon then sent out twelve spies to go out and look over the land. "You could do it, yourself," Kara pointed out.

"It's about empowering them and discovering deception. I already did my own recon," Mon said smugly.

The twelve came back with ten of them giving a false report because they were afraid of the enemy numbers and didn't want to fight them. Mon immediately executed the spies with the false reports. "How long will you treat me with contempt? How long will they refuse to believe in me, despite all the signs I have performed among you? I will strike you all down and destroy you," Mon threatened.

The tribal leaders then pleaded their case to him. "The Clerics will hear of it, for by your strength, you brought us out. And they tell it to the inhabitants of this system. They know that you, my lord, are with us, that you, my lord, stand with us. If you destroy us over these men, the systems who have heard of your fame will say, 'Because King Mon was unable to bring his people to order, he has slaughtered them in the wilderness.'"

"For the sake of my reputation, I will spare you," Mon allowed.

Mon then turned away from the Insane tribes and turned to Kara a distance away. "These people are really pissing me off with all of their complaints and shit-talking. I should keep them in the wilderness for a generation. No one under 20 is going to be settled," he said angrily.

Kara had mixed feelings on the matter. She didn't particularly care for the Insane and had no problem with them dying out in the wilderness. However, she felt Mon's anger was going to make matters worse for her in the long run. "Make them grovel for your forgiveness," she advised.

Mon came back with the tribal leaders groveling before him. "We have sinned against you, my lord but we will go to the promised land with or without you."

"You will not succeed and you will be struck down by your enemies because I am not with you. You will fall by the sword because you have turned away from me," Mon told them.

"Better to die in battle than live in exile," they declared.

At this, Mon was greatly moved. "Prepare for battle. I will be with you."

However, as soon as Mon organized his Insane warriors for a strike on nearby cities, Korna and his men decided to rebel against him. "You have taken too much authority for yourself, my lord. We are all equal here and yet you exalt yourself."

Mon fired a beam into the ground causing it to collapse underneath them. Korna and his men were swallowed up instantly. Mon fired again to make sure they were dead. "You have killed our people!" some of them said outraged.

Mon fired again into the ground causing an underground stream to reveal itself. The disgruntled Insane became pacified for the moment as they collected the water.

Finally, Mon made his move to attack some of the cities and conquer the planet. He sent a hostile message to all the cities hoping they would refuse his offer, which they did. Kara didn't particularly mind the assaults since these settlements were known for all sorts of criminal activity, rape, child sacrifice, etc. In preparation for the battle, the Insane started to learn how to use their ki. At first, none of them had the ability to fly and only a few of them could even create small orbs of energy in their palms. Mon was able to outduel any opponent, his power level exceeded the entire population combined. Kara simply watched as Mon trained with the men. She had never seen him so happy.

"Shall we duel, my queen?" an Insane woman asked of her.

Kara eyed the young Insane woman with long black hair. "And you are?"

"Laurel Gand," she replied.

"Come," Kara allowed.

Laurel powered up creating a purplish aura around herself for a brief moment. Kara gave her a look of surprise not expecting this kind of power from these Insane. It reminded her of how Mon was when she first met him. Laurel went for a spinning side kick which Kara easily blocked. Laurel then went for a punch that Kara cupped.

"You fight well," Laurel complimented.

"As your Insane queen, I should," Kara smirked.

"Right," Laurel smiled and then attacked Kara with a flurry of punches and kicks. Kara dodged a few dozen punches and kicks from Laurel and then finally grabbed her foot. Keeping her off-balanced, Kara then lightly kicked Laurel away. Laurel fell to the ground devastated by the blow. She got back up and tried to attack again. Kara gave her an uppercut sending her into the air. Kara phased away with her super-speed faster than Laurel could track. Laurel landed on the ground and looked everywhere for Kara.

"Looking for me?" Kara asked as she lightly punched her down. "Had enough?"

"No," Laurel shook her head.

Kara punched Laurel several times to the torso before she could even react. Kara then punched her to the ground. Laurel got back up again and attacked Kara with another flurry of punches. Kara dodged all of her attacks and then punched her in the gut. Kara then kicked her into a boulder that blasted apart on impact. Laurel shook her head dumbfounded by Kara's strength.

"So this is Super Insane power?" she asked herself.

Mon gave Kara a concerned look wondering if she would reveal her true nature and humiliate him in front of his people. Kara merely smiled with a shrug to reassure him.

When it finally came to the battle, the Insane lacked armor and weaponry. They would have to rely on their strength alone. At the start of the battle, Mon raised his hands to create a spirit bomb above the battle. Since it was night, the spirit bomb appeared as a sun in the sky not moving in its position no matter how many hours went by. The enemy troops, physically weaker than the Insane, found themselves drained far more. Eventually, they started to pass out and literally die on the battlefield as they lost their life energy. So long as Mon kept his hands raised in the air, the Insane army had the better of the fight and ended up victorious in the end.

The Insane army then approached the city with high walls and fortifications. Mon came out front and then fired shockwave blasts from his hands towards the city walls. They quickly collapsed creating a large hole. The Insane army then pushed forward and easily conquered the city. After the battle was over, Mon summoned Sodom Yat and his sister, Gomorrah Yat, to him.

"You have done well in battle. You may have the honor of naming these conquered cities in your names. I will come by every so often to check up on your progress," Mon told them.

Mon then walked back to Kara who shook her head in dismay. "Let's go," he said to her.

"Don't you want to stay here with your people?" Kara asked, semi-hopeful she could both annul her marriage and ditch him for good.

"Leading the Insane people as their king is secondary to my ultimate goal," Mon reminded her.

"Which is?" Kara asked.

"Surpassing you and becoming the most powerful being in the universe," he said obviously.

"Well, in the meantime, you're going to show me all your wonders," Kara ordered.

Mon smirked at her and then instantly teleported them both back to Earth. The Jin-Saiyan people would remain independent but an ally of the forming Galactic Federation.
