Chapter 3

He could feel the power of the Duel Runner pulse through him. Momentum energy danced around his body like never before. At first it was nothing, but the warm energy. Nothing more than a tickle, but the longer he ran his Runner the more power he could feel. The more violent and energetic he felt as a new wave of adrenaline rushed through his system. He dashed through the city streets rushing towards Avery house which wasn't that far of a distance. Plus he had the entire pathway memorized from so many years of going to her house. As Leo lost himself in the speed of his newly tuned up runner his concentration was broken. It came from nowhere first; it pulsed with a burning sensation that forced Leo to pull his runner to the side. It was a strange sensation which only got worse by the second. A feeling of demise seemed to follow with that Leo pulled back the sleeves of his white jumpsuit. His birthmark was glowing red, a bright crimson red.

His green eyes shifted a bright red as the wind picked up with quick snaps. Leo lifted his eyes red into the sky as lighting danced in the heavens above. Something was wrong. Something was really wrong with the world, that's what his mark was telling him. The only conclusion Leo could come up with was the problems with the Ender-D reactors. What was the problem? Leo had no clue that was a problem for the professionals to solve. Leo looked around trying to figure out what was going on. A moment later his birthmark started to glow again. "No time to worry about this, I need to find Avery. She'll have some ideas." With that Leo resumed his journey towards her house which wasn't that far from his house. He made a sharp right as his birthmark flashed again. Whatever was coming was coming faster than he could ever explain to begin with.

"Well…well…well. Hello Valdez," Leo pulled his duel runner to the side. As the only entrance towards Avery's house. Which was cut off by Leo's long time rival Dick Atticious. Avery lived in a gated community in one of the nicest parts of town in a house far more luxurious than his own. Though housing is ridiculous nowadays. Dick was glaring at him, "It's time for our rematch loser! Dick Atticious is the king of games! And that's me."

"Move aside 2nd place. I am not dueling you, I'm going to see Avery," Leo said. Which only got the man frowning.

"Not gonna happen," Dick said. "Its time for my revenge."

"Move out of my way!" Leo screamed at the man. He already disliked him, but his arm started to glow again. "Move it I want to see Avery."

"What's wrong with you?" Leo moved his hand to cover his birthmark which only grew worse.

"My-my birth-"

"Leooooooo!" He looked up into the sky as if it was that girl's voice. Luna. He didn't know what she looked like, but he knew her voice. Sometimes when he dreams he would hear her screaming. Crying it was a torture that the 12 year old simply coudn't describe. "Save me!" He pushed her voice out of his head as the clouds turned gray and sky darkened. That's when red lighting struck the world and Leo's burning sensation grew only worse. And soon a screeching sound appeared as Leo and Dick looked into the air above Chalice town and it appeared. A dragon unlike any other with a wingspan that size of a minivan. It had two heads or at least what one would assume and a ray of heat flowed through the city streets. As the dragon turned towards Leo his eyes shifted a deep to match the dragon's color. It screamed loudly and its voice boomed through the land. Leo was petrified in terror as his boots shook and his skin had turned towards lead.

"Valdez what is that?" Dick asked.

"I-I-I-its want my help?" Leo said confused, "What are you talking about? Whose Luna?" He asked, but the dragon turned towards him, closed its wings and rushed towards him. Leo screamed in terror as his entire body was engulfed by its jaws. He opened his eyes a moment later as he was floating in some sort of void. Stars seemed to steak through the calm silence and Leo was still inside his Duel Runner. Wherever this thing was taking him it was going fast. Leo was certain what was about to happen, but one thing was for certain wherever it was taking him his destiny was forever going to change. It was quiet and Leo uneasily rested into his duel runner. Was this a dream? Leo wasn't quite sure as all of this just seemed surreal a moment later that's when the bright light appeared. Leo covered his eyes to block out the pain and somehow ended up unconscious.

"Kurrriiiiii!" Kuriboh shouted at him, snapping him from his slumber. Leo opened his green eyes. The dragon was gone and his birthmark was glowing on barely this time. But where he was in a completely unknown location. Kuriboh was in a panic and Leo wrapped his arms around the ghost. Not that he could physically touch it, but it was an attempt. "Kurrrii?"

"I'm fine Kurbioh, just have a headache." Leo said. Placing Kuriboh on his lap Leo revved his engine to see if his duel runner was fine. Which gave an audible growl, "Well I don't know where we are, but wherever we are. We better find some place to rest soon." Leo was in an unknown storage facility. All around each building looked identical. Leo drove for quite a while trying to find an exit, but eventually gave up and drove straight through one of the walls. Which Kuriboh had suggested and entered into an empty storage room. It was at that point that both Life Stream Dragon appeared. That burning sensation refused to subdue itself. Finally Leo moved and grabbed a small white cube which was placed inside his Duel Runner and clicked the button with that. His Duel Runner disappeared into digital space which made transportation of goods easier. Most people had these cubes which were only about 50 years old and allowed one to even move inside the digital world. The cube ran completely on its own Momentum energy. And with that Leo disappeared into the digital void.
