Brainiac 5 and J'onn conducted fusion training with Kon and Mara together. "First, I need you to power up to Super Insane," Brainiac 5 ordered. Kon and Mara gave him pissed-off expressions. "Something wrong?"

"Where were you when my mother got possessed by a demon and killed our dad," Kon demanded.

"Not there," Brainiac 5 said obviously.

"I don't buy it. I think you weren't there because you were too scared," Kon accused.

"How are we supposed to trust you? You're supposed to be the pope and you failed to show up to exorcise our mother," Mara pointed out.

"Not even with all my collective drone units could I defeat your mother, physically. As for exorcisms, that is simply not my area. The only advantage we have is my knowledge, the knowledge of the fusion technique. Mastering fusion is your best chance at survival for you and for the galaxy," Brainiac 5 said seriously.

Kon and Mara nodded to each other and went Super Insane with glowing gold auras. "Raise your energies to maximum," Brainiac 5 ordered.

The DEO began to shake as Kon and Mara let loose. "Not bad for brats," J'onn allowed.

"Kon, you have more energy than Mara. Lower your power level to meet hers," Brainiac 5 ordered. "To perform fusion properly, your power levels must be identical."

Kon tensed up as he gradually lowered his power level. "Up, down, up, down...up...up," Brainiac 5 said to him as his aura strengthened and weakened. "There it is. Remember this power level. It's the level we will be working with from now on."

"Why do I have to handicap myself for Mara's weak-ass level?" Kon asked rudely.

"It's only natural that a male Insane would be more powerful than a female," Brainiac 5 told him. "Now, watch this demonstration."

Kon and Mara watched as two identical drones did the fusion dance with perfect choreography of their legs, body, and arms. Their index fingers met in the center as they learned in towards one another. "What the fuck?" Kon asked dismayed.

"Did you have any trouble memorizing it?" Mara asked him.

"No, let's do it," Kon said confidently.

Brainiac 5 watched carefully for any imperfections and corrected them with each attempt. "Your breathing is not in sync," he noted.

"Oh, come on!" Kon threw up his hands.

"Continue," Brainiac 5 ordered.

Midvale

Kara visited the recreated Danvers' residence, had a nice meal, took a bubble bath, got herself into red pajamas, brushed her teeth, and prepared to nap.

"Mind if I join you?" Alex asked, wearing blue pajamas.

"Please," Kara smiled as the two sisters went to sleep together.

Tokyo

After hours of training, Kon got fed up and stopped. "Why did you stop?" Brainiac 5 questioned.

"We look ridiculous," Kon protested. "How about you help us achieve a new Super Insane level or mother's prime technique."

"That's not possible in the time allowed," Brainiac 5 shot down. "This is the only way to give you a fighting chance."

"Can we take a nap?" Mara asked tiredly.

"Fuck no. No naps until you master fusion," J'onn interjected. "Get fired up! Move!"

"Can we see an actual living being do it?" Kon asked.

"Fine. Val, get your ass in here," J'onn ordered.

Val stopped what he was doing, playing cards with Imra, Nura, and Brainiac 5, and ran over to him. "What?"

"Perform the fusion technique with me. You better have taken notes," J'onn said to him.

"But you're so tall," Val pointed out.

J'onn morphed to appear exactly the same as Val. "Holy shit," Val said stunned as he looked at himself.

The two then did the fusion technique in front of Kon and Mara. "I still can't get over how fucking stupid this fusion looks," Kon shook his head.

"It is awkward," Mara agreed.

"No talking. It's your turn now," J'onn ordered.

Midvale

After taking a nap, Kara went for a stroll with Alex on a county road. They made small talk until they came to a blind kid walking in the opposite direction with a walking stick. "Hello, there. Who is in front of me?" the boy asked.

"Open your eyes, kid," Kara ordered.

"Even if I do, I still can't see you, ma'am," he said to her.

"Just do it," Kara insisted. "Open up. Do it!"

As he did, Kara fired heat vision into his eyes. "I can see! You've healed my eyes! Thank you, ma'am. You've changed my life. I can't believe it," he said gratefully. "What's your name, ma'am?"

"Kara Danvers," Kara said to him.

"You're so blond and pale. Are you from another country?" the boy asked.

"I'm a space alien," Kara told him.

"Well, you're beautiful inside and out for curing my blindness," the boy said admiringly.

"Hey, let me get you something to eat," Kara said to the scrawny boy and took him back to the town.

Tokyo

Kon and Mara did a practice dance. "Fusion-Ha!" they said at the same time.

"No, it's still fucked up. You have to improve your timing. You need to get all the details right like your breathing being in sync or it won't ever work," J'onn lectured.

"Don't yell at me. Mara is too slow," Kon accused.

"I am not. Kon is too fast," Mara shot back.

"Take it back!" Kon demanded.

"No, you!" Mara told him off.

The two began to wrestle and fight each other in J'onn's presence. "Knock it off. There's no time for your fighting. You want to kill yourself, do it after you kill your mom," he yelled at them.

"Damn, that got dark quickly," Kon said stunned.

"Back to training," J'onn ordered.

Val went back to playing cards with Imra, Nura, and Brainiac 5. "So, any of you optimistic this fusion plan will work?"

"They'll get it right, but it won't matter," Nura said nonchalantly.

"I just hope Kara spares our planet after she lays waste to this one," Imra said as she picked up a card.

After many practices, J'onn was ready for a trial run. "Make your energies the same," he ordered. "Okay, let's go."

"Wait...what the fuck are we doing?" Kon realized with alarm.

"I thought it was obvious," Mara said obviously.

"I mean...I'm a boy and you're a girl. What will that make us?" Kon asked apprehensively.

"What does it matter?" J'onn asked impatiently.

"It doesn't matter to a green slug with no gender, but it certainly matters to me," Kon said.

"Green Martians have two sexes, you ignorant little shit," J'onn yelled at him.

"What if I lose my dick?" Kon asked fearfully. "I need it to find my way around. It's my compass."

"It's only for thirty minutes. You won't miss it," Mara assured him.

"You're children which means sex and gender don't matter at your age. It's basically interchangeable at your stage," J'onn told them both.

"What if this fusion turns me homosexual or trans?" Kon said fearfully.

"Just pray it away," Mara advised.

"There's more at stake than your petty concerns about your gender. Now, do it," J'onn ordered.

Kon and Mara went outside the DEO in case they destroyed the building in a powerful discharge. Imra, Nura, Val, Brainiac 5, and J'onn watched as the two did the fusion dance. In a sudden flash of light, the two merged together into one being. However, the being that emerged ended up being a fat kid wearing a yellow and black jacket.

"Is that really it?" Val doubted.

Imra laughed at the form. "What the fuck?"

The fat kid proceeded to do some stretches and mock punches and then ran around for a few steps before collapsing. "Something went wrong," Brainiac 5 analyzed.

"Well...no shit," J'onn agreed. "Let's try this again."

"We have to wait thirty minutes for them to unfuse...assuming they do," Brainiac 5 said.

"Should we name...it?" Nura wondered.

"You don't name abominations to nature," Imra told her.

Thirty minutes later, Kon and Mara separated. "That was fucking weird," Kon remarked.

"Children, try again," J'onn ordered.

Kon and Mara tried again with the result being an extremely anorexic kid that looked like it was on the verge of death. "Strike two," Val winced.

"Your fingers were fucked up. Try again," J'onn ordered.

Thirty minutes later, Kon and Mara tried a third time and got it right. Kon and Mara merged into a new creation neither male nor female but somewhere in-between. They wore a yellow-black jacket, bare muscular chest of a boy, but a feminine-looking face. Due to their age, they didn't look too weird. "You can call me Karma and I am a bitch!" Karma said delighted with their new form.

Midvale

After giving the formerly blind kid a meal and getting him home, Kara noticed someone was drowning in the ocean. "Someone please help me. I can't swim!" he shouted. Kara flew over to him and brought him to the surface of the water. "Thank you, you saved my life," he said gratefully.

"What the fuck are you doing out in the ocean so far from shore if you can't swim? I hate people like you," Kara scolded. She then noticed Alex giving her a disapproving look. "I mean...let me get you to dry land." Kara and the man walked on the water until they reached shore.

"Oh my God, you're the queen!" the man realized.

"Don't tell anyone. I'm on vacation with my sister," Kara told him.

As Kon and Mara continued to work out their fusion technique, Kara hung out with Alex at the house eating chocolates and playing video games. "This shit is hard," Kara remarked as she played Tetris.

"You having fun?" Alex asked.

"Absolutely. Have some candy," Kara offered.

"Delicious, outstanding," Alex said of gumballs. "I'm so glad to be here with you. Let's take a selfie together."

Kara and Alex did a sexy pose together while on the floor, side-by-side, and smiling at the camera. The two then had dinner and then went to sleep together.

Tokyo

"Now, it's time to master Super Insane fusion," J'onn ordered. Kon and Mara went Super Insane in front of him outside the DEO. "Good, you've mastered your energy levels."

The two then fused together as one being, Karma. This time, they emerged from the light Super Insane in the beginning. With this, Karma was relatively the same as Mon's Ultra Super Insane. "Try to catch up with me," Karma said as they took off into the air and began touring Japan at a much faster speed than before.

Karma then went into space and orbited the Earth several times for fun before landing back into Japan with a thud. "Looks like the green fart couldn't catch up," Karma smirked.

J'onn flew to their position and landed. "What took you so long?" Karma mocked.

"That was a waste of training time," J'onn scolded.

"Don't you see how powerful I've gotten?" Karma asked rhetorically. "There's nothing left to do. My training is over. I'm calling the shots now. I'll take care of mother."

Karma then split into Kon and Mara as their time was up. "You were saying?" J'onn asked them. Kon and Mara merely gave him a blank look. "Get the fuck back to the DEO."

Midvale

Kara had breakfast together with Alex, read stories from Kara's autobiography of their Midvale days, and then went out for a walk where they discovered an injured puppy. "I think his legs are broken. I'm going to nurse him back to health," Kara pledged.

"Got a name for him?" Alex asked.

"Krypto," Kara determined.

"That's the name of your dog from the 21st century," Alex pointed out.

"I name all my dogs Krypto," Kara clarified. In the house, Kara nursed the dog back to health using a medical scanning device. Kara then played fetch with the dog with Alex watching on.

"I have so many plans, Alex, and I want you to be a part of them. I'm going to build several cities across the world in your honor. I mean, more than I already have," Kara said ambitiously as she threw the ball for the dog to go after.

As Kara had her back turned to talk to Alex, a sniper bullet suddenly hit the dog, mortally wounding it. "What the fuck?" Kara asked angrily as she turned around and spotted the shooter.

"Those bastards," Alex said shocked and appalled. "How could they do that?"

The sniper then escalated the situation with a shoulder missile launcher. He fired on Kara with Alex within range. Kara shielded Alex and took the blast. As the smoke faded, a heat vision beam hit the sniper blasting him to pieces. Unknown to Kara was that the sniper was possessed by the demon taking Alex's form. Kara then went over to the dog with her medical scanner and revived him.

"Nice," Kara said happily.

Tokyo

J'onn sensed for Kara's movements by accessing the minds of all the people in Midvale. "She just killed a sniper that tried to kill her dog," he reported to Brainiac 5.

"Perhaps she's not as dangerous as we think," Brainiac 5 considered.

"This changes nothing. She can still destroy the world in an instant," J'onn said to him and then turned to Kon and Mara taking a break. "Kon, Mara, stop goofing off."

"We don't need anymore training," Kon said arrogantly.

"You still need more power and there is no time to waste," J'onn rebuked.

"J'onn, you're being a bully," Nura told him off.

"Yeah, these are just children," Imra pointed out. "If you press too hard, when the time comes, they'll lose."

"I've raised children, you haven't. Shut the fuck up," J'onn shot down. "Kon, Mara, prepare to train even harder than before!"

Midvale

Kara worked on some home maintenance on the Danvers' house. "I recreated this home so I would always think of you. Now, it's yours."

"That means the universe to me," Alex said, shedding a tear.

"This is your new home, Krypto," Kara said to her new dog. "I'm going to give you a bath. Hey, Alex, join me."

In the large bathtub, Kara, Alex, and the dog rested in the water naked. "Let me give you a massage," Kara offered and then went behind Alex to massage her shoulders.

"That is so nice," Alex complimented Kara's touch.

The two got dressed in bathrobes but then Alex suddenly clutched her chest. "What's wrong?" Kara asked alarmed.

"I think I'm having a heart attack," she said as she collapsed.

"No, Alex, you can't die!" Kara said freaked out as she used her medical scanner on her. Nothing seemed to work as Alex remained still. Kara scanned Alex's chest and found her heart not beating. She tried to heal her in vain with her medical scanner repeatedly. Finally, Kara tried to do CPR on Alex with no result. Soon, it became apparent to her that Alex was dead.

Kara stood back up crying and enraged. She clutched her hair in madness and then scratched her cheeks so hard she bled. After shaking her head in grief and denial, she gave a scream that shattered the house and could be heard across the country. In her anguish, Kara suddenly split in two. There were now two Karas, one that wore the Supergirl uniform and the other that wore Kara Danvers' civilian clothes and glasses.

"Finally, I have expelled the pathetic virtuous version of me out of my body," Evil Kara said pleased.

"That's not very nice. You should apologize," Good Kara protested.

"All you brought me was pain, these emotional attachments. I've lost both sets of parents, my sister, my friends, my husband...," Evil Kara reflected. "The only way to exist in this universe is to rid myself of all that can cause me pain."

"Your family and friends are the ones that can give you joy. Without joy, what is the point of living? Better to have loved and lost than never loved at all," Good Kara rebuked.

"I'm tired of losing the people I love," Evil Kara shook her head.

"You still have your kids, right?" Good Kara said brightly.

"My kids," Evil Kara recalled. "Yes, Kon and Mara."

"That's right!" Good Kara smiled.

"I constantly fear losing them. There's only one logical way to solve this problem. I have to kill them," Evil Kara determined.

"Let's not be too hasty," Good Kara said wide-eyed.

"When they're dead, I'll be free. Free from pain, from loss, from grief," Evil Kara said to herself.

"I can't let you do this. I have to stop you," Good Kara said resolved.

"Bitch, please," Evil Kara rolled her eyes.

Good Kara punched at Evil Kara several times, missing each time. After several missed punches, Good Kara panted from effort. Evil Kara kicked her to the ground with little effort. As Good Kara got back to her feet, Evil Kara punched her to the torso and face in quick succession. After a few dozen unanswered hits, Good Kara took to the air and threw her crest seal at Evil Kara. She snapped the plastic-looking seal crest off her body with ease. Evil Kara then continued her assault rattling Good Kara with punches and kicks all over her body.

Good Kara fired heat vision beams, missing each time. Evil Kara fired at the ground creating an explosion of dust and dirt that threw Good Kara higher into the air. They both powered up their eyes and fired on each other at the same time. The beams met in the middle at equal intensity for a few seconds until Good Kara was blasted to the ground.

Good Kara got back to her feet bleeding from her lip and bruised. Her civilian clothes were ruined from the barrage of attacks. Evil Kara, meanwhile, looked completely unphased. "I have to win...for the sake of the children," Good Kara said to herself and blew frost breath at Evil Kara.

Evil Kara breathed frost breath at the same time, quickly overpowering Good Kara, and froze her solid. Evil Kara eyed the frozen statue of her twin. "After I've killed my family, friends, colleagues, and every human on this planet...in that order, I'll free you and reabsorb you back into myself. After all, you are roughly half my power. But you'll never be the queen, merely the horse."

Tokyo

Kara flew over to the DEO knowing exactly where it was. She was confronted by J'onn, Imra, Nura, Val, and Brainiac 5 at the entrance. "The time for hiding is over," Kara informed them.

"Fight me then," J'onn challenged.

"I actually want a good fight," Kara mocked. "None of you need to worry, right now. I'm not going to kill you just yet. Not until I kill the brats first."

"They're not here," J'onn lied.

"Don't bullshit me, J'onn," Kara said angrily as she scanned the DEO for the children.

"They can't fight yet. They're sleeping," J'onn stalled.

"You're under the mistaken impression I'm here for sport. I just want to kill," Kara replied. "My mind has changed. I'm thinking...differently now. I'm going to kill them with no delay."

"Why don't you wipe out the human race first? Have a little fun while you're at it?" J'onn enticed.

Kara smiled at him. "Oh, J'onn, always thinking of how to stall for time, taking every advantage, no matter the cost. I do intend to kill every human on this planet but not yet. I'm going to kill my family, my friends, my colleagues, and then every human exclusively in that order."

"Wake Kon and Mara up," J'onn ordered Val. He then turned to Kara. "So...what you're saying is that if we stop you from getting to the kids, you won't kill us."

"Stop me?" Kara shook her head amused. "You'll be surprised what you can live through."

Val suddenly rushed her at high speed, for a human, and went for a punch. Kara easily evaded him and fired heat vision on his body. Val fell to the floor severely burned and unconscious. Kara then fired heat vision on Imra. She put up a forcefield to block the beam and was able to keep it up for a few seconds before getting blasted to the floor unconscious. She fired more heat vision beams into the DEO destroying all of the Brainiac 5 drones. Nura wrapped energy cables around Kara as stalling tactic, but Kara easily snapped them off. Nura then threw a portal behind Kara and then pushed them both through it.

Kara found herself in the dream world with Nura. It appeared as dark forest with all sorts of twisted dreams. "You're stuck here with me. You're going to live out the rest of your natural life here," Nura said to her. "Even if you kill me, there's no escaping this dimension."

"Is that what you think?" Kara asked pissed off. She then screamed as loud as she could, creating a windstorm within the dimension. The scream became so powerful in its vibrations that a hole ripped open in the dimension. Kara then went through the hole back to the DEO.

"Well...shit," Nura sighed.

Kara eyed Nura as she exited the dream portal. As soon as she exited, Kara blasted her with heat vision. Nura attempted to hold her own with her own blast but was quickly overtaken. She skidded along the floor defeated. "Now to the kids," Kara said impatiently.

The DEO lit up as Kon and Mara fused together into Super Insane Karma. "This is for Dad!" Karma said as they punched Kara into the air. Karma kept up the offensive with kicks to Kara's head and torso in quick succession. Karma switched it up with punch and kick combinations all over Kara's body.

"Really?" Kara laughed at them.

"Laugh all you can, bitch," Karma said to her and then went for another series of attacks.

Kara easily dodged all of Karma's moves. Karma overshot their kick allowing Kara to catch their leg. Kara swung Karma around a few times and threw them into a nearby lake. Kara then flew over to the lake and waited for them to come up. "I should thank you. Having the two of you fuse together has made it twice as easy to find you."

Karma suddenly emerged from the lake and fired a beam that went down on Kara top-to-bottom to supposedly split her in half. Before the light faded, Karma fired on her with two energy blasts. "Got you," Karma said confidently.

Kara emerged from the smoke and grabbed Karma by the throat. "Let me go," Karma protested. Kara casually tossed Karma away where they hit a rock formation. Karma pulled their face out of the rock and faced Kara. "Check this out, mother," they said as they blew white bubbles out of their mouths.

Kara gave the bubbles an odd look as they formed into energy-versions of Karma with their hair, faces, torso, and arms. They appeared as ghosts-looking objects. "Scared? You should be. Kamikaze Ghost Attack!" Karma shouted.

The several ghost bubbles hit Kara from all sides in an explosion. "Drop the mic, that's all she wrote. You're not so tough, after all, mother," Karma taunted as they stuck their tongue out at her.

Kara emerged from the smoke only slightly ruffled. "Oh, shit," Karma realized and then flew as fast as they could across Japan. "I guess she can't keep up with me at this speed," they said confidently as Kara was out of sight.

Kara suddenly grabbed Karma by the hair off the ground. "The only reason I haven't killed you yet is that I want to savor killing each of you individually while your completely helpless. That said, I'm still going to kick your ass." Kara's eyes glowed red as she blasted Karma out of her grip and back to the DEO.

Karma crashed next to J'onn. "How you doing, J'onn?" Karma said deliriously as they got back to their feet.

"Stay sharp," J'onn lectured them.

Kara arrived on the scene instantly. Karma fired on her forming several rings around her body that pinned her arms and legs together. Karma then fired an energy balloon around Kara's body. For their next move, Karma punched the energy balloon with Kara inside up into the air. They then kicked her down to the ground creating a deep crater.

Karma and J'onn eyed the deep crater with uncertainty. "How do you like that?" Karma asked, impressed with themselves.

"Knock it off," J'onn scolded.

"Come out, come out, wherever you are. I know it will take more than that to take you out, mother," Karma taunted. "Hurry the fuck up. I can only be in this awesome form for a little longer. Then, I need an hour to recover."

"Shut the fuck up. That's a need-to-know basis," J'onn rebuked.

"Maybe I did kill her. Perhaps, I am too strong for my own good," Karma considered.

A massive heat beam that was as wide as the deep hole in the ground said otherwise. Karma and J'onn barely dodged the red pillar of energy as it went into space. "That was close," Karma said awkwardly. They then fired a shower of energy blasts on Kara creating a huge dust storm.

"Stop, you fucking idiot, you'll destroy the entire planet," J'onn warned.

"So, what if I do?" Karma asked dismissively and then stopped. "That should have weakened her." Kara emerged from the dust only slightly ruffled. "My attacks haven't done anything."

"You are making a difference. Maybe not physically but having your mother fight you is taking a toll on her emotionally. She's holding back," J'onn sensed.

"Yeah, bring it on," Karma said immaturely.

Kara flew up at Karma and headbutted them hard. Kara placed Karma into a hug and slammed them into the ground. Karma emerged from the cracked ground wounded and dismayed. "Owie, that hurt."

Kara then backhanded Karma across the mountainous terrain. As Karma got back to their feet, Kara put them in a headlock and slowly crushed them. "I can't breathe," Karma complained.

J'onn intervened just as Karma was about to be crushed by phasing through Kara, grabbing Karma, and phasing them both out of her grip. "That's the last straw!" Karma said as they went for a kick.

"Make this one count!" J'onn said to them.

Kara blasted Karma with a broad heat vision beam before the kick could land. Karma emerged from the dust and smoke looking burnt and frazzled. "Right back at you," Karma said as they unleashed their own heat vision beam. Kara emerged unaffected.

Karma went on the offensive with punches and kicks all over Kara's body. They then prepared for a finishing move. "Emak emak...," Karma said as they loaded up a final attack. Suddenly, Karma split into two and lost all power.

"This is bad," Kon and Mara said together. "The fusion must have worn off."

"No shit," Kara rolled her eyes. "So, what's it going to be, burnt or frozen? Maybe one of each."

Kon and Mara shook fearfully as Kara advanced on them. "We're goners for sure," Kon realized.

"Yeah, you're right," Mara admitted.

"How can this be happening? We're just kids. We're not ready to die yet," Kon said bitterly.

"She can kill our bodies but not our spirit," Mara reminded him.

J'onn landed between Kara and the two kids. "I won't be much help, but I won't let you face this alone. At best, we'll die together."

"We're too young to die. This is crazy," Kon complained.

"Super crazy," Mara agreed.

"You're ruining the moment. Try to die with dignity," J'onn scolded.

Kara then looked up as she sensed another powerful presence nearby. Ignoring J'onn and the kids, she rose up to meet the new threat. Before her was Mon-El appearing as an apparition. Mon eyed Kon and Mara still alive down below. "Glad I wasn't too late."

"Explain this nonsense," Kara demanded.

"I've been training in another dimension this entire time," Mon explained.

"You really planning to fight me, ghost?" Kara mocked.

"Fight you? No, I'm planning to kill you," Mon replied.
