Chapter 12

No one spoke a word. They all sat there for a few moments staring at one another. Ginny and Draco glanced at one another then looked back at Narcissa.

Finally after a few moments, Narcissa spoke.

"I know things did not go well between us as well as with your father. I am deeply sorry for putting you all in a horrible position when Astoria was brought into the mix" Narcissa said looking at Ginny and Draco.

"Mother, what you and father did was inexcusable. You put Ginny, Haven, and myself in a very bad situation. I told you both I want to be with Ginny and our daughter. I love them both deeply and I want us to be a family. I want you and father to know your granddaughter as well, but I will not allow our daughter to be put in harms way or for her to be feeling inferior in anyway" Draco said as his hand sought Ginny's hand for comfort.

"I agree with you. Ginny, I am sorry for what you have been put through. You never deserved any of these negative feelings towards you and for that I am sorry" Narcissa said looking to Ginny.

Ginny was quiet for a moment. She was still upset by how Narcissa and Lucius had treated them. To Ginny, it was causing much hesitancy to allow Narcissa and Lucius near their daughter. However, she was noticing the sincerity with how Narcissa was acting towards them and then Ginny replied.

"Narcissa, I am hurt by how you and Lucius have treated Haven and I. She is your grand daughter and regardless of who my family is she should still be treated with respect and love. My family is everything to me and they have accepted Draco as their own. Why can't you both do the same for Haven and I? When can you both drop the purity blood garbage and prejudices? Draco and I love each other. We have a family. We want you to get to know Haven, but we do not want her to be treated poorly" Ginny said as she could feel her body start to tense, but Draco's soothing rubbing on her hand started to calm her down.

Narcissa looked between Draco and Ginny for a moment. She then got up and stood in front of them.

"I really want to make amends and go forward in a new relationship with you both. I want to be involved in Haven's life if you will let me" Narcissa said.

Draco looked to Ginny as she looked at him. They both stood and each took a turn embracing Narcissa. Suddenly, the pitter patter of feet could be heard as Haven had run into the room. She ran right up to Ginny who immediately scooped her up into her arms.

Haven looked to Narcissa and said, "Mummy, isn't this the mean lady?"

Narcissa looked down to the floor as a tear slid down her cheek. Ginny had Haven turn to look into her eyes.

"Haven, this is your grandma. This is Draco's mummy. She is really sorry for b being mean to us. She wants to get to know you and me better. Can you give her a chance?" Ginny asked.

Haven looked between her mum and Narcissa. She then reached out for Narcissa.

Narcissa looked to Ginny who nodded her head. She then held out her arms as Haven went into them.

Haven then looked at Narcissa and said, "I forgive you. You're really pretty."

Narcissa smiled as she held Haven close to her.

All of them enjoyed spending the rest of the day together and Narcissa really enjoyed getting to know Haven and Ginny better.

After Narcissa left, Ginny gave Haven a bath and got her ready for bed. Once Haven was tucked into bed, Ginny went out to the living room to see Draco sitting on the couch.

Draco looked up upon hearing Ginny enter the room. She sat down next to him and they instinctively grabbed hands. Ginny waited for Draco to speak.

"Today was not what I expected at all. I am glad she came to apologize and seek reconciliation, but is it wrong of me to still feel hesitant?" Draco asked looking at Ginny.

Ginny gently cupped Draco's face and turned his face to look into her eyes.

"I do not think it is wrong for there to be some hesitancy. I am willing to give her a chance, but if I am being honest I will keep a close eye on her interactions with Haven. I know she's your mum and I respect that, but I know that we both want Haven to feel loved and safe" Ginny said as she kissed Draco gently on the cheek.

Draco smiled and said, "I agree with you. We can take things slowly with my mother. We do not have to rush things as she should earn our trust. Haven can get to know my mum, but we will do it on our terms."

Ginny nodded in agreement and pulled Draco to stand with her. After kissing him gently on the lips, they both headed to bed hoping for a great day tomorrow.

The next day found the young family out at a park. They had all woken up early that morning and Haven was really wanting to go to the park.

Draco was running around with Haven as they would go down the slide together.

Ginny then saw in the distance Hermione and Ron approaching. Rose and Hugo had headed towards where Draco and Haven were playing.

"Hey Gin, mind if the kids play with Haven?" Ron asked.

"Of course not, it's so good to see you both" Ginny said as she hugged Hermione then Ron.

As the three began having small talk, Draco had walked over. The adults were not very far from where the kids were playing.

"Hello Draco, are you treating my sister and niece well?" Ron asked looking at Draco.

"Ron seriously? Draco has been nothing, but wonderful to Haven and I" Ginny said as she playfully smacked her older brother on the arm.

"I understand your concern Ron. I promise I have no intentions on purposefully hurting Ginny or Haven. I love them both dearly. They both mean the world to me" Draco said as he was sitting next to Ginny holding her hand.

"I think it is wonderful that you guys have each other. I definitely see how Haven adores you. So when do you two plan on getting married?" Hermione asked looking between Draco and Ginny.

Before either of them could respond, a piercing scream was heard. All four adults ran to the playground. They saw Haven was on the ground holding her leg.

Ginny immediately scooped Haven into her arms.

"Kids what happened?" Hermione asked looking to Rose and Hugo.

"Mum, we were jumping off the slide and Haven tried too, but she fell and hurt her leg. I am so sorry" Rose said with tears in her eyes.

Draco looked to the two young Weasleys, "It is alright. You did not hurt Haven. There is no need to apologize."

"Draco, we should take her to St. Mungo's" Ginny said as Haven was crying.

Draco nodded and they said their goodbyes to Hermione, Ron, and their kids. They apparated quickly away to St. Mungos.
