Chapter 15

Haven had gone over to The Burrow to spend time with her grandparents. Draco had gone to work and Ginny had decided to go to Diagon Alley. She had apparated there in the morning and was just browsing at the different shops.

Haven's fourth birthday was coming up. Ginny knew Haven was really wanting a party outside with her family. Ginny's mum already had said they could throw it at the Burrow. Of course, Haven was excited by this because she loved going over there any time she could. Ginny was fine with the idea and so was Draco, but they were not sure how Narcissa would take to the idea. As it has been known, the Malfoys and Weasleys never got along. Now that a Weasley and.a Malfoy had a child together things were very much different than before.

Draco had reassured Ginny that no matter if his mother decided to come that they would make sure Haven had the best birthday ever. Ginny could only smile at that fact, but she still felt some guilt.

Ginny arrived in a toy shop and had remembered certain toys that Haven was wanting. Draco had given Ginny money (despite her stating she could afford to buy their daughter her presents) and told her that they were all a family now and that his money was hers too.

Ginny bought the many toys that Haven had wanted. She then went to the local kids clothing store to buy new clothes for Haven as she was growing a lot. Once Ginny got all of her gifts, she then went to get a cup of coffee and decided to relax at the table.

While Ginny was relaxed with her coffee, she caught sight of Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy. Narcissa had waved to Ginny while Lucius had a scowl upon his face.

They approached Ginny and Narcissa said, "May we join you?"

Ginny replied, "I guess. Please have a seat."

Lucius had ordered himself and Narcissa something to drink and they joined Ginny at her table.

The awkward silence was inevitable until Narcissa finally spoke.

"Draco has informed me that Haven's birthday is coming up. Do you have plans for a birthday party for her?" Narcissa asked as she sipped her coffee.

"Yes, my mum is having us all over to do a family picnic outside. Haven loves being at the Burrow and loves being outdoors. We are having her party this coming Saturday" Ginny said the two Malfoys.

Lucius said not a word and Ginny could feel tension radiating off of him.

Narcissa looked to Ginny and said, "We would love to be there for our granddaughter's celebration. That is if your and your family will allow us to be."

Ginny smiled warmly and said, "Of course you may both come. Draco and I have told my family that they may expect you both will be there as well. She is your granddaughter as well and Haven is very fond of you. We would love it if you both could come."

Narcissa smiled and nodded while Lucius still sat there not saying a word. Narcissa and Ginny spent the next hour talking about Haven's party as Lucius sat there in silence.

Ginny then told them she needed to leave to pick up Haven and to head home. They all said goodbye and Ginny apparated to the Burrow.

Once Ginny had collected Haven from her mum, she then apparated them both home. She had sent Haven's gifts home already and they were hidden well. Haven was excited to be home with her mum.

Ginny and Haven spent the afternoon playing together and Ginny had Haven take a nap before dinner.

Once Haven was asleep, Ginny set about cooking up dinner. She was cooking the salmon and asparagus when she heard the door open.

She turned and saw Draco smiling as he closed the door. She went up to him to kiss him.

"Hello love. Did you have a good day? How is Haven?" Draco asked as he followed Ginny back to the stove where dinner was cooking.

"Haven is well she had a great time at mums per usual. I went to Diagon Alley to get her gifts for her birthday and you won't believe who I ran into" Ginny said as she tended to the cooking food.

"Was it Harry?" Draco asked with a concerned look on his face.

"No actually. I ran into your mum and dad. They asked if they could join me for coffee" Ginny said turning to Draco.

Draco looked at Ginny with a shocked expression. Ginny plated their dinner and turned to Draco.

"Your dad did not speak to me, but your mum wanted to be able to come to Haven's birthday party. I told them they could come and that my family was expecting them to be there. Your mum was very excited to be going. Your dad did not say anything yet. I am hoping he can behave himself around my family."

Draco nodded and wrapped his arms around Ginny. "My love, I will have a conversation with him to make sure he behaves himself. Haven will have an amazing birthday. Let's get our princess up and have dinner."

Ginny nodded and went to get Haven up. Draco had set their dinner on the table and felt someone collide with his leg. He looked down and saw Haven smiling up at him.

"Daddy! I missed you!" Haven said as she clung to Draco's leg.

Draco laughed and picked Haven up.

"I missed you more tell me all about your day." Draco said as he kissed her forehead and placed her in her chair.

The little family ate their dinner and Haven told them all about her day.

After the kitchen was cleaned up, Draco and Ginny took out Wizard's chess. Draco was showing Haven how to play. Even though she was little, Haven was very smart for her age. She was enjoying playing with her dad.

After some time, Ginny had Haven jump in the bath to get cleaned up from her fun filled day at the Burrow. Once Haven had gotten into her pajamas and tucked into bed, Draco and Ginny both went in to read her a story. They all enjoyed this time together and Draco as well as Ginny knew that times like these were very precious and did not last forever. Halfway through the story, they noticed that Haven had fallen fast asleep. They both kissed her on the forehead and turned out the light. They left her door partially open and headed to their bedroom.

They both decided to shower together which took longer as they had made love whilst showering. Once they were cleaned up, they got into pajamas and crawled into bed.

Ginny had turned so her eyes could look into Draco's eyes.

"I love you my dear" Draco said as he planted a gentle kiss on Ginny's lips.

"I love you as well Draco" Ginny said smiling.

They both snuggled closer together and fell asleep quickly.
