Chapter 16

Today was Haven's birthday on July 15. Ginny had made a special breakfast for Haven. She made chocolate chip pancakes with bacon and sausage. Haven was excitedly sitting at the table ready to eat her birthday breakfast. Draco shortly joined them and soon the family ate together. Haven was very excited to be going to the Burrow for her birthday.

After breakfast dishes were cleaned up, Ginny went to get Haven ready for her birthday party. Haven picked out a yellow sunflower dress with black dress flats. Once Haven was dressed, Ginny braided Haven's hair and once finished Haven went out to the living room to show her dad her outfit.

Haven ran up to Draco and asked "Daddy do I look pretty?"

"Haven you are always beautiful. I cannot believe you are 4 years old today." Draco said as he picked her up and spun her around.

Ginny appeared not too long after as she was getting ready. Draco stopped in his tracks as he looked at Ginny. She had put her hair up into an elegant bun and was wearing a light blue spaghetti strapped dress. The dress was flowy and was made of a chiffon material. Ginny had put on black sandals to complete her look.

Draco walked up to Ginny and kissed her softly on the lips.

"My dear, you look beautiful" Draco said as he stroked Ginny's cheek affectionately.

"Thank you sweetie. We should get ready to head to the Burrow" Ginny said. She had already had Haven's birthday presents wrapped and sent to the Burrow.

The family finished getting what they needed and headed outside to apparate to the Burrow.

Upon arriving at the Burrow, Haven spotted her cousins Rose and Hugo waving excitedly to her. Haven dashed over to them and the three took off to go play.

Ginny and Draco walked to the backyard where they knew everyone would be. The backyard was decorated beautifully. There were pink streamers strung from some to the trees and on the roof of the Burrow. There were tables set up with chairs with pink flowers in the center as well as pink glitter hearts next to the flowers.

"Mum, this look absolutely beautiful!" Ginny said as she embraced her mother.

"Thank you dear. Hermione helped me finish the decorations. Your brothers helped set up the tables and chairs. The food should almost be ready. Draco, are your parents still coming?" Molly asked as she had hugged Draco.

"As far as I know, Mother said they would be in attendance. Thank you again for hosting Haven's party here. She has been so very excited" Draco said as he smiled at Molly.

"Mum, do you need help with the food at all?" Ginny asked.

"No dear, you and Draco go mingle with everyone. Hermione is helping me get the food ready" Molly said as she shoo'd her daughter and Draco towards the rest of the family.

Draco and Ginny started talking with Ron and Bill who were watching the kids playing.

"Hey Gin. How have you been?" Bill asked as he hugged his sister.

"I am doing well. I cannot believe Haven is already four. Just seems like I just had her" Ginny said as she felt Draco's hand on the small of her back.

"I cannot believe it either. I remember you finding out you were pregnant with her. She really is a blessing to us all. How do you feel Draco having a four year old daughter?" Ron asked looking over at Draco.

"I am blessed to have Haven and Ginny in my life. I wish I was there in the beginning, but I cannot change the past. I can say I am happy to be where I am now and Haven is one amazing girl" Draco said as he looked over at his daughter playing with her cousins.

Just then Molly announced the food was ready. They all gathered at the tables and sat down. Haven sat by Ginny and Draco. As everyone began to eat, Haven had gotten up and ran in the direction of the front of the Burrow. Ginny and Draco both stood to see where she was going. Then they saw Narcissa and Lucius standing there as Haven ran into Narcissa's arms.

Draco and Ginny walked over to his parents.

"Hello Mother and Father. We are glad you are here to celebrate Haven with us" Draco said cordially as he looked between his parents.

"We are glad to be you for having us" Narcissa said.

Haven then blurted out, "Come sit by me. It's time to eat."

They laughed as they followed Haven back to the tables. Lucius still was uncomfortable being around the Weasleys in any capacity.

They all sat down together as everyone had greeted the Malfoys.

After some time, everyone had gotten full from eating. Haven was patiently waiting to open all of her presents.

Once it was all cleaned up, Molly had the gifts come by Haven who was sitting in a chair next to Draco and Ginny. Everyone gathered around as Ginny helped Haven read the many cards from her family. Haven excitedly tore through the many gifts she received. She had gotten new dolls, many new outfits, hair accessories, a potion set from Ron and Hermione and their kids, a new jumper handmade from Molly and Arthur.

Narcissa had walked over to hand her gift to Haven. The gift was large as Narcissa had shrunken it to fit in her pocket. Haven excitedly began to open it and saw a brand new dollhouse. Ginny and Draco were stunned at how large it was. Haven ran up to Narcissa and hugged her then she hugged Lucius. Everyone looked to Lucius as he was frozen for a moment, but returned the young girls' hug.

Once the wrapping was thrown away, Ginny reminded Haven to go hug everyone for her gifts and to say thank you. Haven did as her mother had instructed her to do.

Molly had brought out Haven's birthday cake. They all sang to Haven who was happily clapping along to their singing. Once the candles were blown out, Molly had magically cut the cake and served everyone a. slice.

Ginny and Draco stayed to continue to visit with her family. Haven surprisingly was trying to get Lucius to play with her. Narcissa chuckled as Lucius was resistant at first, but those eyes of Haven's caused him to break down and he began to chase her around the yard.

Eventually it began to get late, Ginny and Draco stated they were heading home as Haven was growing tired. They thanked everyone and said their goodbyes; The Malfoys had also decided to leave and to Ginny and Draco's surprise Narcissa and Lucius both hugged and shook the Weasleys hands.

Narcissa and Lucius apparated away and closely behind Ginny and Draco apparated home with Haven.

The day had been absolutely perfect. Ginny and Draco both were hoping that maybe Lucius was beginning to have a change of heart.
